DASHBOARD IS CRACKED IN MULTIPLE PLACES. ONE CRACK IS ALONG THE PASSENGER AIRBAG AND THE SECOND IS ALONG THE DRIVERS SIDE IN FRONT OF THE INSTRUMENT GLUSTER. THE FIRST CRACK APPEARED AS I WAS LEAVING MY DRIVEWAY AND THE OTHER WAS WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE STREET. I AM WORRIED THAT THE AIRBAG CRACK COULD CAUSE SHARP PIECES OF THE DASH TO PROJECT IN THE CASE OF A DEPLOYMENT OF THE AIRBAG.
TAKATA RECALL I WAS NOTIFIED OVER TWO YEARS AGO THAT MY AIRBAGS WERE UNSAFE! HOW CAN YOU ALLOW GM TO STILL NOT CORRECT THIS UNSAFE CONDITION FOR OVER TWO YEARS!
TAKATA RECALL. THE RECALL CAME OUT IN MAY 2016, 18 MONTHS AGO! GM AND TAKATA ARE AWARE THAT THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT COULD RESULT IN DEATH. I WANT MINE FIXED NOW!!

MY SERVICE MAN WAS PULLING OUT OF PARKING LOT AT STORE WHEN AIR BAGS EXPLODED AND SEAT BELTS LOCKED. HE DID NOT HIT ANYTHING AND WAS ONLY GOING ABOUT 10 MPH WHEN THIS HAPPENED. TOOK TO LOCAL DEALER TO SEE IF THEY COULD FIX IT. THEY SAID YES , BUT WE WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR IT. WE COULD CONTACT THE MANUFACTURER IF NECESSARY. THE BILL WAS $1413.89. (PARTS $798.00--LABOR 562.59 TAX 48.19). WE HAD TO GET IT FIXED AS IT IS ILLEGAL TO BE ON THE ROAD WITHOUT SEAT BELTS (OR AIR BAGS). WE FEEL THESE ARE DEFECTIVE PARTS AN D WE SHOULD BE REIMBURSED BY THE MANUFACTURER.. THIS IS AN UNSAFE VEHICHLE!!!! THANKS

IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE DASHBOARD NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 104,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 GMC SIERRA 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DASHBOARD HAD A CRACK FROM THE DASHBOARD TO THE AIR BAGS. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE CONTACT WAS LIABLE FOR THE REPAIR. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 138,197.
ALL OF MY DOOR LOCKS WILL NOT OPEN. THEY STARTED FAILING ONE AT A TIME. NOW NONE THEM WORK. YOU CAN PUSH THE REMOTE AND HEAR THEM TRYING TO WORK BUT THEY DON'T. THINK IT MIGHT BE THE ACTUATORS FOR EACH DOOR.

TAKATA RECALL- WHEN I WENT TO MY LOCAL CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP AS STATED ON MY RECALL NOTICE I WAS INFORMED THAT THE PART IS STILL UNAVAILABLE! WHAT DOES IT TAKE FOR THE MANUFACTURER (TAKATA) OF THESE DEFECTIVE COMPONENTS THAT ARE KILLING PEOPLE TO MAKE THESE REPLACEMENT PARTS AVAILABLE? I HAVE A VEHICLE THAT I'M MAKING PAYMENTS ON THAT I CAN'T DRIVE BECAUSE OF THE POTENTIAL OF GETTING HURT OR KILLED BY THE COMPONENTS THAT ARE INSTALLED TO PROTECT YOU! WHEN IS THE AUTO MANUFACTURER GOING TO MAKE THIS MANUFACTURER ACCOUNTABLE? WHEN IS OUR GOVERNMENT GOING TO MAKE THIS MANUFACTURER ACCOUNTABLE? PURCHASED MY 2008 GMC SIERRA TRUCK IN NOVEMBER 2015 AFTER HAVING FOR ONLY 5 MONTHS DRIVER SIDE DOOR LOCK WILL ONLY LOCK OR UNLOCK SOMETIME, MAKING IT UNSAFE IF YOU NEEDED TO EXIT QUICKLY DUE TO ACCIDENT OR FIRE. SEEN MANY OTHER POST ABOUT SAME PROBLEM. SHOULD BE A RECALL ON THIS.
SERVICE AIRBAG LIGHT COMES ON AND GOES OFF DEALER SAID SOME 2008 S WERE COVERED BUT NOT MINE YET DEALER IS GM SUPERSTORE COOKS IN VASSAL MI 1 YEAR AGO I FOUGHT WITH THEM FOR POWER STEERING THEY WOULD NOT DO MONTH AFTER THAT RECALL WAS ISSUED THEY DID NOT CONTACT ME I HAD TO RESEARCH IT AND YEAR LATER CONTACT THEM ALSO ROUND YEAR AGO I HAD TO CONTACT THEM FOR RECALL ON IGNITION WITH RECENT PROBLEM AIR BAG SERVICE LIGHT ALL THEY WANT TO DO IS CHARGE ME 90 DOLLARS TO DIAGNOSE IT SEEMS LIKE WITH THEIR MISHANDLING OF OTHER TWO RECALLS LEAST THEY COULD DO IS SPEND 5 MINUTES TO DIAGNOSE AIRBAG LIGHT SEEMS LIKE THE HHR. CRACKS IN DASH ABOVE THE AIRBAG AND INSTRUMENT CLUSTER. THIS IS A PROBLEM GM IS IGNORING.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FRONT AIR BAG SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, BUT WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE REPAIR WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V381000 (AIR BAGS). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 152,518.
THE DASHBOARD IS CRACKING ABOVE THE INSTRUMENT PANEL TO THE RIGHT OF THE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY. THE TRUCK IS RARELY DRIVEN, AND HAS JUST PASSED 30,000 MILES. THE CRACK APPEARED WHILE THE TRUCK SAT IN A STATIONARY POSITION IN AN ENCLOSED GARAGE.
DASH PAD CRACKS IN BOTH UPPER CORNERS AROUND PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG, TRUCK WAS PARKED, NOTICED CRACKS IN MORNING

MY SIERRA HAS THE SAME PROBLEM THAT MANY OTHER GM VEHICLES HAVE. THE DASH IS CRACKING, CREATING LOOSE PIECES. IT IS CRACKED AT THE AIRBAG. THIS SHARP EDGES COULD IMPAIR THE PROPER FUNCTION OF THE AIRBAG. IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT, I AM AFRAID THE LOOSE DASH PIECES COULD POST A DANGER TO THE VEHICLES OCCUPANTS.
I BOUGHT A 2008 GMC SIERRA IN FEBRUARY 2016 AND UPON TAKING OWNERSHIP, NOTICED TWO CRACKS IN THE DASH. ONE IS BEHIND THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER AND THE OTHER ON THE LEFT-HAND CORNER OF THE AIRBAG. THE CRACKED DASH PIECES COULD BECOME SHRAPNEL IN THE EVENT OF AN AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT. THIS DASH ISSUE IS A COMMON AND KNOWN ISSUE AND GM REFUSES TO DO A RECALL.
FAILURE OF UNDERBODY/FRAME RUST UNDERCOATING. THE UNDERCOATING HAS COMPLETELY FLAKED OFF THE FRAME OF MY TRUCK WITH 90K MILES. I AM THE ONLY OWNER OF THIS VEHICLE WHICH HAS BEEN GARAGED SINCE DAY ONE. THE VEHICLE IS ALSO RUSTING THRU FROM THE UNDERSIDE OF THE HOOD. I HAVE CONTACTED GMC ABOUT THIS ISSUE BOTH IN PERSON & ON THE PHONE. THEY HAVE DENIED ANY LIABILITY IN THIS MATTER.
IN COLD WEATHER, THE BRAKES MAY STAY ENGAGED, EVEN UPON RELEASING THE BRAKE PEDAL. THIS WILL HAPPEN SPORADICALLY, AND USUALLY UPON STARTING FOR THE FIRST TIME AT A GIVEN DAY. I WILL START DRIVING, THEN BRAKE WHEN REQUIRED, RELEASE THE BRAKE WHEN I WANT TO RESUME DRIVING, BUT THE BRAKES MAY REMAIN ENGAGED.
DASH ALL OF A SUDDEN DEVELOPED CRACK ABOVE THE LEFT CORNER OF PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG AND ABOVE THE DRIVER GAUGE PANEL. THIS IS IDENTICAL TO THE STORIES I AM READING ABOUT OTHER VEHICLES IN THIS MAKE AND MODEL.
DASHBOARD IS CRACKING, PART OF THIS IS AROUND THE AIRBAG AND I THINK IT COULD BE DANGEROUS IF THE ALREADY DEFECTIVE AIR DEPLOYS IT COULD SEND SHARDS OF BROKEN DASHBOARD INTO MY OR A PASSENGERS FACE, THIS IS COMMON IN 2007-PRESENT TRUCKS MADE BY GM, THEY ARE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM BUT DO NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT EVEN ADMITTING A BAD DESIGN
TAKATA INFLATORS- PULLED TRUCK INTO GARAGE AND PUT INTO PARK. DRIVERS SIDE AIRBAG BLEW OUT THEN A FEW SECONDS LATER PASSENGER AIRBAG BLEW OUT. HAD BEEN DRIVING PRIOR TO THIS WITH NO ISSUES OR WARNING.
DASH CRACKING NEAR AIRBAG STORAGE AND ON DRIVERS INSTRUMENT CLUSTER. THIS HAS BEEN A PROGRESSIVE PROBLEM STARTING IN JANUARY OF 2016. VEHICLE IS GARAGED ON A REGULAR BASIS.
GM KNOWS THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH THE CRACKED DASHBOARDS ON 07-13 GM TRUCKS/SUVS, BUT REFUSES TO VOLUNTARY RECALL. IF THE VEHICLE IS INVOLVED IN A CRASH, THERE IS LIKELIHOOD THE AIRBAG COULD EITHER NOT DEPLOY OR IF IT DOES, IT COULD CATCH THE CRACK IN THE DASH AND EITHER NOT DEPLOY PROPERLY, OR SEND SHRAPNEL INTO THE DRIVER OR PASSENGER.
TAKATA RECALL. IT'S BEEN OVER A YEAR SINCE THE RECALL AND NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE. HOW MANY LIVES MUST BE LOST OR PERSONS MAIMED BEFORE SOMEONE DOES SOMETHING? GM IS STALLING, OR NOT MOVING AT ALL!! PLEASE HELP!
TAKATA RECALL WAS ISSUED BY GM BEGINNING 2016 WITH NO RESOLUTION IMMINENT. THIS IS 2 YEARS LATER, STILL WITH NO RESOLUTION. I AM AFRAID TO CARRY A PASSENGER FOR FEAR OF AIR BAG FAILURE.
THE PLASTIC AROUND THE PASSANGER AIRBAG HAS STARTED CRACKING AND CONTINUES TO SPREAD TO OTHER AREAS. I FEEL THIS COULD MAKE FOR A BAD SITUATION WITH SHARDS OF SHARP PLATIC BEING THROW AT THE PASSANGER IF THE AIRBAG WHERE TO BE DEPLOYED.
POWER SURGE TO ELECTRICAL SYSTEM... VOLTAGE METER WILL DROP BELOW 9 VOLTS THEN THE FOLLOWING OCCURS: HEADLIGHTS FLICKER, RADIO SHUTS OFF, CLIMATE CONTROL SHUTS OFF, DASH LIGHTS FLICKER, AIR BAG LIGHT FLASHES, SERVICE AIR BAG WARNING POPS UP, AND TRUCK STALLS OUT. THIS IS A DANGEROUS SITUATION WHILE DRIVING AND IF THIS IS ELECTRICAL MAY CAUSE FIRE. THIS IS INTERMITTENT AND OCCURS AT ANYTIME FOR NO PARTICULAR REASON REGARDLESS OF WEATHER/TEMPERATURE.
DASH IS CRACKING IN SEVERAL DIFFERENT PARTS. COULD BE A SAFETY HAZARD IF VEHICLE IS INVOLVED IN CRASH. SHARDS OF PLASTIC MAY HIT VITAL BODY PARTS.

AT APPROXIMATELY 48,000 MILES DRIVING ON A PAVED ROAD, MY DASH ON THE PASSENGER SIDE WHERE THE AIR BAG IS LOCATED, CRACKED. THE CRACK CONTINUES TO INCREASE IN SIZE. I WOULD THINK IT WOULD EFFECT OPERATION OF AIR BAG. WITH AS MANY COMPLAINTS THAT ARE POSTED TO THIS, I CANNOT BELIEVE ITS NOT UNDER INVESTIGATION.
HAD A CO-WORKER WITH A 2008 THAT TOLD ME ABOUT HIS DASHBOARD CRACK ADJACENT TO THE AIR-BAG COMPARTMENT. MY VEHICLE HAS ONLY 22,000 MILES AND HAS BEEN GARAGE HOUSED THE ENTIRE TIME. I'M AFRAID THAT IF THE AIR-BAG DEPLOYED, WITH THE CRACK IN THE CORNER, THERE COULD BE SEVERE DAMAGE TO THE PASSENGER.

I HAVE A LARGE SECTION OF MY DASH PAD BROKEN ON THE DRIVERS SIDE. I ALSO HAVE A CRACK ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. THIS WAS NOT CAUSED FROM ABUSE BUT FROM INFERIOR MATERIALS. IT APPEARED SOMETIME IN 2015 WITH ABOUT 130,000 MILES ON IT. I HAVE OWNED IT SINCE NEW. MY CONCERN IS IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH, ALONG WITH THE DANGEROUS TAKATA AIRBAGS THAT I'M STILL WAITING TO BE REPLACED, WILL PLASTIC BE SENT THROUGH THE AIR FROM AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT?, OR WILL WE WAIT FOR SOMEONE TO BE INJURED OR KILLED TO GET GM TO RESOLVE THIS SITUATION.BY THE WAY GM HAS SENT ME A RECALL NOTICE AND TOLD ME THEY ARE WAITING ON PARTS. THAT HAS BEEN OVER 3 MONTHS AGO. I ALSO HAVE ANOTHER TRUCK FOR AIRBAG RECALL.JUST FOR THE RECORD MY WIFES 2007 CHEVY SILVERADO 1500 RECEIVED A CRACK IN THE DASH AT ABOUT 80,000 MILES. THIS IS AN EPIDEMIC BUT I SURE GM WILL ESCAPE AGAIN JUST LIKE IN THE PAST. IT TAKES ONE SMALL FRAGMENT IN THE RIGHT PLACE SUCH AS AN EYE TO CHANGE SOMEONES LIFE FOREVER. JUST THINK IF IT WAS SOMEONE YOU LOVED SITTING IN THAT TRUCK.
