OUT OF NOWHERE ENGINE BEGAN TO IDLE ERRATICALLY ALMOST CAUSING AN ACCIDENT AT AN INTERSECTION, IF I HADN'T CAUGHT IT AND SLAMMED ON THE BRAKES THE TRUCK WOULD HAVE REAR ENDED ANOTHER VEHICLE. AFTER THAT THE IDLE BEGAN TO DROP AS IF THE VEHICLE WAS GOING TO STALL, THEN WOULD KICK BACK UP TO ABOUT 900-1000 RPM. WAS INTERMITTENT AT FIRST, NOW VEHICLE IS NOT DRIVEABLE. IT IS WORSE WITH A/C ON AND IT EFFECTS ENGINE TEMP GAUGE AS WELL.
I START MY TRUCK ONE NICE SUMMER DAY AND MY "SERVICE AIR BAG" LIGHT CAME ON, STRANGE I THOUGHT, SINCE MY 2008 SIERRA 1500 ONLY HAS 57,XXX MILES ON IT. . NO ACCIDENT, NO PRIOR ISSUES, NOT EVEN INCLEMENT WEATHER WHEN THE LIGHT CAME ON. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER TO HAVE IT DIAGNOSED. THE DIAGNOSTIC COST WAS $132.93, AND THAT WAS TO JUST FOR PLUGGING IN THE TECH 2 SCAN TOOL AND RUNNING THE SIR AIR BAG DIAGNOSTIC TEST. I WAS NOT THRILLED ABOUT IT. PROBLEM TURNED OUT TO BE A FAILURE OF THE FRONT LEFT AIR BAG SENSOR. THE DEALER SAID "OH WE HAVE ONE IN STOCK AT OUT OTHER LOCATION, WE CAN GET IT SHIPPED OVER, AND IT WOULD COST $550 BUT WE COULD HAVE THE TRUCK BACK TO YOU LATER THIS EVENING." HOW DOES ONE OF THESE JUST FAIL? IF ITS DUE TO CORROSION SHOULDN'T GM PICK UP THE TAB ON THAT? THIS SAFETY COMPONENT IS WHAT SENSES IMPACT THEN CAUSES THE AIRBAG TO ACTUALLY DEPLOY AND THIS PART JUST RANDOMLY FAILS? HOW IS THAT ACCEPTABLE FOR ANY MANUFACTURER, IF THERE IS A CORROSION ISSUE, FIND A MEANS TO PREVENT FURTHER FAILURES AND COVER THE COST OF REPLACEMENT FOR THOSE THAT DO FAIL. FOR A GMC TRUCK THAT USES THE PHRASE "WE ARE PROFESSIONAL GRADE" AS THE BACKBONE FOR THEIR PRODUCTS, WHY WOULD THEY USE PARTS THAT FAIL SO EASILY? SINCE SOME OF THEIR TRUCKS USED TO BE BE ASSEMBLED IN WISCONSIN, AND THEIR HEAD QUARTERS IS IN DETROIT, MICHIGAN, IT'S VERY HARD TO OVERLOOK THE FACT THAT THESE PLACES ARE NOT KIND TO VEHICLES. SO WHY IS IT THAT A VERY IMPORTANT SAFETY SYSTEM, THE SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM, A KEY COMPONENT CAN FAIL SO EASILY, AND THERE IS NOTHING BEING DONE TO CORRECT IT?
SERVICE AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON AND WHEN I WENT TO THE DEALER I TOLD IT IS A BAD SENSOR THAT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED, I ASKED THE DEALER IF THIS COMMAN THEY SAID NO BUT THERE SEEMS TO BE ALOT OF COMPLIATS ON THE WEB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 GMC SIERRA DENALI. THE CONTACT STATED ALL THE DOOR LATCH HANDLES REPEATEDLY BROKE. THE CONTACT'S SON ATTEMPTED TO OPEN THE DOOR AND THE HANDLE COMPLETELY FAILED. THE FAILURE OCCURRED MORE THAN SEVEN TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 99,000. UPDATED 7/16/15*CN
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 GMC SIERRA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE RECALL NOTICE FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V324000 (AIR BAGS) WAS RECEIVED IN JUNE OF 2015. AFTER CONTACTING THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS, THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE PARTS NEEDED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE WERE STILL NOT AVAILABLE AND NO ESTIMATED TIME FOR RECEIVING THE PARTS COULD BE GIVEN. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE.
TICKING NOISE BEGAN ONCE THE VEHICLE REACHED ~100,000 MILES. INITIALLY, THE TICKING ONLY OCCURRED ONCE THE ENGINE WAS STARTED. AS TIME WENT ON, THE TICKING BECAME MORE FREQUENT, TO INCLUDE UPON ENGINE START AND WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS UNDER LOAD/ACCELERATING. AT APPROXIMATELY 108,000 MILES, THE TICK BECAME CONSTANT WHILE THE ENGINE IS RUNNING. GMC DEALER DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AS A FAILED LIFTER, WHICH, APPARENTLY, HAS BEEN A COMMON PROBLEM IN GM 5.3L ENGINES. A VEHICLE SHOULD NOT NEED A NEW ENGINE, OR EVEN NEW LIFTERS FOR THAT MATTER, AT 100,000 MILES. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE, WITH MANY CONSUMERS REPORTING IT AND GM ACKNOWLEDGING IT. VEHICLES WITH THESE ENGINES SHOULD HAVE BEEN RECALLED YEARS AGO.
EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION. BEGAN USING IN JUNE OF 2015. USES MORE THAN 1 QT PER 3000 MILES OF DRIVING.

MAJOR ISSUE INVOLVING CRACKING OF DASH AROUND PASSENGER AIRBAG OPENING AND INSTRUMENT CLUSTER AREA. I HAVE NOTICED SEVERAL VEHICLES COVERING ALL YEARS AND USAGE WITH SIMILAR CRACKS SOME MAJOR. CONCERNED THAT IF AN ACCIDENT WITH FRONT AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT INJURY COULD OCCUR DUE TO FRACTURED PLASTIC.
DASH BOARD IN CRACKING IN TWO PLACES OVER THE SPEEDOMETER AND TWO PLACES ABOVE THE AIRBAG. CRACKS ARE CONTINUING TO APPEAR ON MY DASHBOARD WHICH RAISES A CONCERN OF WHETHER IT WOULD SHATTER IF THE AIRBAG WAS TO INFLATE DURING A ACCIDENT.
DRIVING AND THE ENGINE BEGAN MAKING A HITTING SOUND AS IF SOMEONE WAS BEATING A METAL OBJECT AGAINST METAL. *TR
MY VEHICLE AIR BAG SENSORS HAVE BEEN DIAGNOSED AS FAULTY. THE DEALERSHIP INDICATED THAT BOTH FRONT AIR BAG SENSORS ARE PART OF A KNOWN PROBLEM WHERE THE FACTORY TIGHTENED THE BOLTS TOO FAR MAKING THE SENSORS PRONE TO CRACK AND COLLECT MOISTURE. THIS MOISTURE THEN FREEZES AND THE SENSORS NEED TO BE REPLACED. THIS REPAIR IS VERY COSTLY AT OVER $200 PER SENSOR AND BOTH SENSORS NEED REPLACED. THIS DOESN'T INCLUDE LABOR. THIS IS DEFINITELY A SAFETY ISSUE AND I DON'T KNOW IF THE AIR BAGS WILL FUNCTION PROPERLY IF AN ACCIDENT WERE TO HAPPEN. THIS SEEMS TO BE AN ITEM THAT SHOULD BE RECALLED. *TR
DRIVERS SIDE SEAT BELT WILL NOT LOCK IN TO THE RECEIVER ON SIDE OF SEAT. DEALER SAID I MAY HAVE TO PAY FOR A DIAGNOSES AND REPLACEMENT PLUS PARTS. I SAY IT'S A SAFETY ISSUE AND SHOULD BE COVERED FOR FREE. WONDER IF OTHER PEOPLE HAVE HAD SAME PROBLEM. *TR
WHILE DRIVING CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, SERVICE STABILITRAC AND SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL ON INFORMATION CENTER, FOLLOWED BY A REDUCED POWER NOTIFICATION. THIS CLEARS AND OCCURS WITHOUT WARNING RENDERING THE MV NEAR USELESS. *TR
JAN 2015 THE AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON. MANY COMPLAINTS ON THIS ISSUE. ALSO JUNE OF 2015 THE DOOR LOCKS STARTED ACTING UP. PASSENGER SIDE WILL NOT LOCK/UNLOCK NOW THE DRIVER DOOR IS ACTING UP ALSO... MANY COMPLAINTS SEEN ON BOTH THESE CONCERNS.
DRIVER'S SEAT BELT WILL NOT RETRACT PASSENGER'S SEAT BELT WILL NOT DEPLOY WITHOUT A LOT OF EFFORT THE REAR SEAT BELT PASSENGER SIDE, MIDDLE SEAT - THE PLASTIC GUIDE BROKE OFF MAKING IT ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO HOOK BELT TO CHILD SEAT PARK ASSIST IS NOT OPERATIONAL CRUISE CONTROL WORKS ONLY PART OF THE TIME. *TR

THREE YEARS IN A ROW , MY TRUCK HAS NOT PASSED INSPECTION DUE TO PROBLEMS WITH THE FRONT END BALL JOINTS ON BOTH SIDES. THIS SPRING MY FRONT LEFT BEARING AND AXLE FAILED, IT HAS FAILED INSPECTION AGAIN THIS YEAR. I HAVE 91,000 MILES ON MY TRUCK. *TR
I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN ALL THE LIGHTS ON THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER CAME ON AND WENT CRAZY AND SO DID THE RADIO. THE TRUCKS BRAKES LOCKED UP AND CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP. THE TRUCK TURNED OFF AND WHEN I TRIED TO TURN IT BACK ON IT WAS DEAD. "TAKATA RECALL" I HAVE BEEN TO LIBERTY GMC IN PEORIA, ARIZONA NUMEROUS TIMES SINCE I RECEIVED THE RECALL NOTICE. IT HAS NOW BEEN OVER TWO YEARS NOW. I WORRY ABOUT MY WIFE EVERY TIME SHE IS IN THE TRUCK. NOTHING HAS HAPPENED TO DATE I AM ALWAYS CONCERNED ABOUT A COLLISION.
BEGAN TO SMELL FAINT RAW GAS FUMES AROUND THE VEHICLE IN THE SUMMER. IN THE AUTUMN MONTHS THE RAW GAS ODOR SMELL INTENSIFIED AND WAS VERY STRONG WITH AN OVERCOMING PRESENCE IN THE CABIN WHILE DRIVING. I BROUGHT THE VEHICLE TO MY SHOP FOR DIAGNOSTIC. THE MECHANIC (NON GMC GARAGE) CALLED BACK SEVERAL HOURS LATER AND SAID I HAD BEEN DRIVING A POTENTIALLY DISASTER. HE ASKED ME TO SEE FOR MYSELF. I WAS ABLE TO VIEW THIS FIRST HAND AFTER HE HAD REMOVED THE FUEL TANK FROM THE VEHICLE. THE FUEL PUMP IS MOUNTED INTO A DEEP SUMP ON THE TOP OF THE GAS TANK. THE SUMP WELL IS RATHER DEEP AND COLLECTS MUD, SILT, DEBRIS AND WATER WHILE DRIVING AND THAT COLLECTS AND BUILD UP OVER TIME INTO THE SUMP AND THAT STAYS MOIST AT ALL TIMES. OVER THE COURSE OF 6 YEARS THE FUEL PUMP HOUSING AND MOUNT RING RUSTED, ROTTED OUT AND STARTED LEAKING RAW GAS THAT WAS SPILLING ONTO THE HOT EXHAUST PIPE ALONGSIDE THE FUEL TANK. I DO NOT GO OFF ROAD WITH THE VEHICLE NOR DO I PLOW SNOW WITH IT. THE VEHICLE IS USED PRINCIPALLY IN HIGHWAY DRIVING. A FEW WEEKS LATER I WAS TALKING TO A FRIEND WHO OWNS A 2010 GMC SUBURBAN AND HE HAD THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM. I SUBSEQUENTLY WENT ON LINE, SEARCHED ON GOOGLE, AND DISCOVERED A NUMBER OF OTHER OWNERS THAT HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THEIR VEHICLES. THIS IS A DESIGN FLAW IN WHICH THE TANK IS DESIGNED WITH THE DEEP CIRCULAR DEPRESSION (A PERFECT SUMP CONDITION) FOR THE MOUNTING OF THE FUEL PUMP AND WITH NORMAL ROAD DRIVING (MOST NOTABLY IN THE NORTHEAST OR NORTHWEST WHERE RAIN AND SNOW IS PREVALENT) THE SUMP WILL STAY MOIST WITH MUD AND DEBRIS COLLECTING CAUSING RUST IN THE FUEL PUMP HOUSING/MOUNTING RING. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 GMC SIERRA. WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE CONTACT HEARD A TICKING NOISE AND THE BRAKES FAILED TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE BRAKES FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT WAS MADE AWARE OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V459000 (SERVICE BRAKES, AIR) HOWEVER, THE PARTS NEEDED TO DO THE REPAIR WERE NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
DRIVER FRONT DOOR DOES NOT LOCK OR UNLOCK. *TR
MY TRUCK STARTED TO ACTIVATE THE BRAKES IN THE MIDDLE OF THE 3 LANE 680 FREEWAY, DOORS STARTED TO LOCK AND UNLOCK, NAVIGATION WENT DARK, MULTIPLE DIFFERENT DISPLAYS ON DASHBOARD, NUMBER OF LIGHTS FROM THE AIR CONDITIONER UNIT, CAME ON. ACCELERATION OR BRAKES WOULD NOT RESPOND, WE WERE UNABLE TO DRIVE OFF THE FREEWAY. IT WAS A SCARY MOMENT, WE WERE LUCKY THAT NO BIG RIG WAS FOLLOWING US, OR IT WOULD HAD RUNS US OVER, AND PROBABLY KILLED US. *TR
AIRBAG SERVICE LIGHT AND MESSAGE APPEARED. DEFECTIVE 15297468 SENSOR CAUSED SYSTEM FAILURE. PART BADLY DAMAGED BY CORROSION. *TR
BOTH PART NUMBERS152974468 (FRONT FRAME MOUNTED CRASH SENSORS) FAILED WITHIN 2 WEEKS OF EACH OTHER ON MY 2008 GMC SIERRA PICKUP TRUCK. THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO BE HERMETICALLY SEALED UNITS BUT BOTH SHOW SIGNS OF WATER INTRUSION, CORROSION AND SWELLING. WHEN THESE FAIL THE SIR SYSTEM IS SHUT OFF. I HAVE PHOTOGRAPHS OF THE PARTS IF YOU WOULD WISH TO SEE THEM. UPDATED 5/8/2015 *JS
DASH IS CRACKING IN SEVERAL PLACES. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 GMC SIERRA 1500. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE FROM A COMPLETE STOP, ANOTHER VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE VEHICLE AND THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE SEAT BELT BUCKLE RELEASED INDEPENDENTLY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED A BROKEN RIB AND AN INJURY TO THE SHOULDER. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND REPAIRED FOR THE EXTERIOR DAMAGES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 35,300.
3 OF MY 4 DOOR LOCK ACTUATORS HAVE FAILED. BOTH REAR DOORS COULD NOT BE LOCKED OR UNLOCKED EXCEPT MANUALLY FROM WITHIN THE VEHICLE. REACHING OVER THE SEAT TO UNLOCK A CHILD'S DOOR IN AN EMERGENCY CONSTITUTES A SAFETY HAZARD. IN MY OPINION, GMC SHOULD STEP UP AN ACKNOWLEDGE AND ADDRESS THIS ISSUE. *TR
DASHBOARD IS CRACKED AT PASSENGER AIRBAG. POTENTIAL SHRAPNEL IF AIRBAG ACTIVATES.
THE LOWER STEERING SHAFT IS MAKING A NOISE. TOOK TO A REPAIR CENTER AND SHOW THE SHAFT NEEDS TO BE LUBED IT MAKES A CREAKING NOISE WHEN DRIVING OVER HUMPS AND ALSO THE SLIP YOKE IN THE REAR OF THE TRUCK WHEN COMING TO A STOPPED POSITION THE DRIVE SHAFT MOVES AND BACK AND IT FEELS AS IF YOU WAS BEING BUMPED FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. THE TWO ISSUES ARE FOUND ALL OVER THE WEB REPORTING THESE ISSUES AND GMC AS NOT IDENTIFIED OR RESOLVED THESE ISSUES ESPECIALLY ON THESE MODELS. *TR

THE FUEL LINES ARE RUSTED THROUGH SPRAYING FUEL TO UNDER SIDE OF TRUCK. THE LINES RUSTED THROUGH WHILE DRIVING FIFTEEN HOURS STRAIT FROM FLORIDA. IF THE FUEL WOULD HAVE HIT THE TAIL PIPE OR DIESEL PARTICULET FILTER WHEN REGENERATING, THERE COULD HAVE BEEN A SERIOUS FIRE. I HAVE BEEN THROUGH AN EXPLOSION AT WORK AND KNOW WHAT IT IS LIKE TO BE BURNED. I ONLY DROVE THIS TRUCK DAILY TWO WINTERS BEFORE I GOT HURT AND LAST WINTER IT WAS IN FLORIDA. I HAVEN'T EVEN CHANGED THE FRONT BRAKES YET BUT THE FUEL LINES ARE SHOT. SHAME ON GM AND SHAME ON NHTSA FOR NOT ADDRESSING THIS. YOU BOTH KNOW THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH BRAKE AND FUEL LINES. HOW MANY PEOPLE NEED TO DIE OR GET HURT OR HOW MANY NOT EVEN REPORTED HAVE BEEN TOUCHED BEFORE YOU ACT. AND BY THE WAY I HAVE A MECHANICS DEGREE FROM YEARS AGO BUT AM NOT A PRACTICING MECHANIC. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 GMC SIERRA 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TIRE PRESSURE MONITORS WERE DISPLAYING THE TIRE PRESSURE READINGS IN REVERSE ORDER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 28,000.

DRIVING HOME, THE SPINDLE ARM BROKE, CAUSING THE TIRES TO LOSE STEERING ABILITY, LEADING TO THE LOSS OF CONTROL AND THE TRUCK GOING INTO PENSACOLA BAY. NO AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT. DRIVER KNOCKED UNCONSCIOUS. *TR
REAR PASSENGER DOOR WILL ONLY LOCK/UNLOCK MANUALLY FROM THE INSIDE. I HAVE BEEN TOLD THE PROBLEM IS A FAILED DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR. IT WILL NOT LOCK/UNLOCK WITH POWER LOCK BUTTON OR KEY FOB AND THERE IS NO KEYHOLE EXCEPT ON DRIVERS DOOR. THIS IS MY SECOND GMC VEHICLE THAT HAS HAD THE SAME PROBLEM AND AFTER SEARCHING THE INTERNET THIS SEEMS TO BE A FAIRLY COMMON PROBLEM AND I AM TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHY IT HAS NOT BEEN RECALLED OR GMC HAS NOT BEEN FORCED TO FIX THE PROBLEM. ON 04.12.2014 AFTER GOING TO THE STORE, PARKED UNDER THE CARPORT. THE TIME WAS 10PM. WHILE INSIDE HEARD A POP SOUND AROUND 10:15 PM. WENT OUTSIDE AND THE TRUCK WAS ON FIRE. PUT TRUCK IN NEUTRAL AND PUSHED IT FROM UNDER THE CARPORT, TRYING TO SAVE DAMAGE TO THE HOUSE. FIRE DEPT CAME AND PUT THE FIRE OUT. THE FIRE WARPED ALL THE VINYL UNDER THE CARPORT. LUCKY IT DIDN'T CATCH THE HOUSE ON FIRE. THE FIRE WAS WORSE ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. *TT
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 GMC SIERRA 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ODOMETER DISPLAY WAS DIM AND EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO SEE. THE CONTACT ADJUSTED THE DIMMER SWITCH, DID NOT IMPROVE THE VISIBILITY FOR ALL OF THE OTHER INSTRUMENT PANEL INDICATORS EXCEPT THE ODOMETER READING. THE DIMMER SWITCH WAS REPAIRED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE LOCAL DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE SEVERAL TIMES, BUT NO REMEDY WAS PROVIDED. MY 2008 GMC 1500 SIERRA "SERVICE AIR BAG" LIGHT CAME ON WHEN I STARTED MY TRUCK A FEW WEEKS AGO. FINALLY WAS AT THE DEALER, ROMEO GMC IN KINGSTON, NY. THEY RAN DIAGNOSTICS TESTING AND ADVISED ME THAT MY FRONT AIR BAG SENSOR SENSOR WAS BAD AND IT COST ME $469 TO REPLACE IT! THE SERVICE GUY SAID 'THEY ARE IN A BAD PLACE AND GET DAMAGED FROM THE WEATHER ETC AND THEY JUST GO LIKE THAT!' REALLY? THAT'S OK FOR A SAFETY DESIGN? ALSO, HOW CAN THIS SMALL SENSOR COST SO MUCH?? IS IT JUST DEALERSHIP GOUGING PARTS PRICES? I AM SEEING ONLINE THAT I COULD HAVE BOUGHT AN AFTER MARKET PRODUCT AND REPLACED IT MYSELF- A 10MM BOLT HOLDS IT ON! WAS I JUST ROBBED? MULTIPLE CRACKS IN DASH - BY AIRBAG AND ABOVE INSTRUMENT CONSOLE.
THE SAFETY DURING A COLLISION OR AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT FROM SHARP PLASTIC EXPOSED DUE TO THE CRACKS IN THE DASH CUTTING THE AIRBAG OR SHARDS OF PLASTIC BECOMING PROJECTILES POTENTIALLY CAUSING INJURY TO OCCUPANTS. I JUST HAD A PHONE CONVERSATION WITH SOMEONE OVER AT GM AND THEY ARE GOING TO CONTACT THE DEALERSHIP REGARDING THIS ISSUE. I EXPLAINED TO THEM THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN. THE CRACKS IN THE DASHBOARD AROUND THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG COMPARTMENT COULD COMPROMISE THE INTEGRITY AND DEPLOYMENT OF THE AIRBAG AND POTENTIALITY, CAUSE GREATER INJURY TO THE PASSENGER(S) IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT. I ALSO NOTED TO GM THAT MY CASE IS NOT AN ISOLATED INCIDENT, AND THAT THERE ARE NUMEROUS FORUMS AND THIS FACEBOOK PAGE WHERE GM VEHICLE OWNERS HAVE POSTED PICTURES OF DEFECTIVE DASHBOARDS ALL WITH SIMILARITIES, SHOWING CRACKS IN THE SAME GENERAL AREAS,MANY OF WHOM HAVE BEEN EXPRESSING SAFETY CONCERNS REGARDING THIS DASHBOARD DESIGN FLAW. *TR
