DRIVING BETWEEN 40-45MGH AND STABILITRAK FAILURE SERVICE AND ABS FAILURE LIGHT COMES ON. AT EVERY BUMP THE SERVICE LIGHTS GOES ON AND OFF. THEN ON A SMOOTH SERVICE THE STABILITRAK LIGHTS COMES ON UNTIL I GET HOME. WITH THE COLLISION WARNING TURNED ON THE CAR ALSO AND ALMOST FREQUENTLY TENDS TO BRAKE ON ITS OWN WHILE DRIVING. BUT HERE'S THE REAL PROBLEM THIS 2014 GMC TERRAIN DENALI CAR IS NOT ON THE 'RECALL' LIST - WHY? SEEMS IT'S FROM THE SAME CAR MANUFACTURER WITH SAME ISSUES, SHOULDN'T IT BE ON THE SAME RECALL LIST.
I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY IN THE RAIN AND WIPERS STOPPED WORKING. THEY WERE STUCK IN THE UPRIGHT POSITION. I GOT OFF THE ROAD AND MOVED THEM PHYSICALLY DOWN OUT OF MY VIEW. THEY THEN WOULD NOT TURN ON. I CAN HEAR THE MOTOR TURNING BUT THE WIPERS DO NOT MOVE.
I AM HAVING AN ISSUE WITH THE OIL IS BURNING AND IT IS CAUSING OTHER COMPONENTS TO GO BAD ON MY CAR LIKE THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER . AND IT IS BURNING OUT AND I HAVE TO CONTINUE TO PUT OIL IN THE CAR... I HAVE RESEARCH AND I SEE THAT ALL THESE MODELS IS HAVING ISSUES WITH THE BURNING OF THE OIL. *TR
"SERVICE SIDE DETECTION SYSTEM" WARNING UPON STARTUP AND SPORADICALLY WHEN DRIVING AT NORMAL SPEEDS. THE BLIND SPOT MONITOR LIGHTS IN THE SIDE MIRRORS DO NOT FUNCTION ANYMORE. UPON STARTING THE VEHICLE, BOTH SIDES USED TO ILLUMINATE WHILE RUNNING THRU SYSTEMS CHECK. NOW ONLY THE DRIVER'S SIDE LIGHTS UP. TO CONFIRM, THE BLIND SPOT MONITORING DOES NOT WORK FOR EITHER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE NOW. THE SENSOR IS UNDERNEATH THE REAR BUMPER COVER, EXPOSED TO THE ELEMENTS. THERE ARE SEVERAL FORUMS MENTIONING THIS ON THE GMC TERRAIN DENALI MODEL ALONG WITH CADILLAC AND CHEVROLET MODELS THAT HAVE THE SENSOR IN THE SAME PHYSICAL LOCATION OF THE CAR. THE SENSOR IS EXPOSED TO RAIN, SNOW, DIRT, DUST, MUD. I HAVE CHECKED RECALLS ON THIS BUT IT DOESN'T APPEAR TO HAVE ANY OUT THERE DESPITE FORUM COMPLAINTS. THERE SEEMS TO HAVE BEEN "SERVICE BULLETINS" SENT OUT FOR CADILLAC AND CHEVROLET MODELS DUE TO CUSTOMERS COMPLAINING ABOUT THIS SAME ISSUE. THOSE HAVE BEEN REPLACED AT NO COST TO THE CONSUMER FROM WHAT I UNDERSTAND. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH, TYPICAL COST FOR THIS PIECE DIRECT FROM ONLINE SELLERS IS $250+. TO HAVE THE DEALER REPLACE, IT'S LOOKING AT A COST UPWARDS OF $750+. THE NUMBER OF TERRAIN DENALI (THE ONLY TERRAIN TRIM WITH THE SIDE BLIND ZONE ALERT) ARE RELATIVELY LOW COMPARED WITH THE QUANTITY OF THE CADILLAC AND CHEVROLET MODELS WITH THIS ISSUE. I'M WONDERING IF THIS IS POSSIBLY WHY THERE WERE NO "SERVICE BULLETINS" ON THE TERRAIN. THE TERRAIN HAS A HORRIBLE BLIND SPOT AND I UTILIZED THIS FEATURE ALL THE TIME WHEN IT WAS WORKING PROPERLY. I FEEL LIKE SAFETY IS COMPROMISED FOR MYSELF AND MY FAMILY WITH THIS NOW NOT WORKING. I APPRECIATE ANY AND ALL ASSISTANCE.
ENGINE WILL NOT HOLD OIL. CAUSING ENGINE TO STALL AT ANY GIVEN MOMENT WHILE IN MOTION. VEHICLE HAS BEEN DIAGNOSED BY DEALER AND THIRD PARTY AUTO MECHANIC. BOTH HAVE DETERMINED PISTON + PISTON RINGS NEED REPLACED BUT A FULL ENGINE REPLACEMENT IS THE PREFERRED REPAIR. VEHICLE HAS LESS THAN 119,000 MILES. VEHICLES NOTIFICATION LIGHTS INCLUDE: CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, SERVICE STABILITY TRACK AND REDUCED ENGINE POWER.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE THIS MORNING DURING A STORM, MY WINDSHIELD WIPERS QUIT WORKING. I COULDN'T SEE ANYTHING AND WAS WORRIED I WAS GOING TO CAUSE AN ACCIDENT BECAUSE OF THIS. I WAS FINALLY ABLE TO MAKE IT OFF TO THE NEAREST EXIT TO CHECK MY WIPERS. THE WIPERS WOULDN'T WORK BUT I COULD HEAR THE MOTOR WORKING. WHEN I FINALLY MADE IT BACK TO MY HOUSE, I CHECKED ON THIS AND FOUND THAT OLDER TERRAINS WERE RECALLED BECAUSE OF THIS ISSUE WITH WIPER BLADES BEING FAULTY.
I RECEIVED A DOCUMENT DATED DEC 2019 REGARDING A CONDITION WHERE A LINK BALL SOCKET IN THE WIPER TRANSMISSION MAY SEPARATE CAUSING A COMPLETE LOSS OF WIPER FUNCTION. IT IS NOT BEING HANDLED AS A RECALL WHICH I THINK IT SHOULD BE. ONLY VEHICLES WHICH EXPERIENCE THIS FAILURE WILL BE REPAIRED. THIS APPEARS TO BE MORE OF A SAFETY ISSUE THAN AN ADVISORY AND SHOULD BE CONSIDERED A RECALL OR BE DONE FOR FREE AT THE OWNERS REQUEST. I CONTACTED PATRIOT GMC IN BOYERTOWN AND ASKED THAT THE REPAIR BE DONE UNDER THE ADVISORY NOTICE AS A COURTESY BUT HAVE NOT HEARD BACK.
MY 2014 TERRAIN STALLED OUT AT A STOP SIGN. I RESTARTED THE TRUCK AND WAS IT MADE A NOISE AS THOUGH SOMETHING WAS WRONG WITH A BELT. I WENT AROUND THE BLOCK AND IT STALLED OUT 3 MORE TIMES. I BACKED IT INTO MY DRIVEWAY AND NOTICED ALL OF THE OIL ON THE GROUND. I HAD THE TRUCK PUT ON A FLATBED AND TOWED TO THE DEALER. ACCORDING TO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT, THE REAR MASTER SEAL BLEW. SOMEHOW, AS EXPLAINED TO ME, WATER GETS INTO THE ENGINE AND FREEZES. THIS CAUSES PRESSURE AND THAT IS THE CAUSE OF THE DAMAGE. MY TERRAIN TURNED 5 YRS OLD ON 11/21/19 WITH ONLY 50,249 MILES. I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED. I HAVE ALWAYS OWNED A GM VEHICLE AND HAVE NEVER HAD A PROBLEM UNTIL NOW. THE WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER SINCE IT IS 5 YRS OLD AND I AM OUT $3,000 FOR REPAIRS. I DON'T EVEN HAVE THE TRUCK PAID OFF YET. THERE HAS NOT BEEN A RECALL OR POLICY/WARRANTY WAIVER.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 GMC TERRAIN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, A RATTLING SOUND WAS PRESENT COMING FROM THE ENGINE. ADDITIONALLY, THE ENGINE OIL PRESSURE LOW WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND BECAME AWARE OF AN OIL LEAK UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE REAR MAIN ENGINE SEAL WAS BLOWN AND THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE LOCAL DEALER AXELROD BUICK/GMC (6603 BROKE PARK RD, PALMER OH) AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 92,000.
AS MANY OTHER COMPLAINTS FILED HERE MY WIPER TRANSMISSION/LINKAGE HAS FAILED ALSO BUT JUST WEEK FOR THE SECOND TIME AFTER HAVING REPLACED IT JUST LAST YEAR WITH NEW REPLACEMENT ONE. I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM WORK AND IT WAS SNOWING PARTIAL CITY STREET AND HIGHWAY DRIVING. LAST YEAR WHEN IT FAILED IT WAS RAINING ON MY WAY HOME ON HIGHWAY. NEEDLESS TO SAY I WOULD LIKE AN EXPLANATION AS TO WHY THIS HAS FAILED FOR A SECOND TIME AND NO MANUFACTURING DESIGN UPGRADE HAS BEEN DONE BY GM TO RECTIFY THIS CONTINUAL FAILURE.
ENGINE STALLS/ HESITATES ESPECIALLY WHEN AT A STOP, IDLE FOR A PERIOD SUCH AS AT A STOP LIGHT, ALSO WHEN IN REVERSE AND DOES NOT HAVE A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. THIS DID HAPPEN BEFORE AND A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT DID APPEAR. I PULLED THE CODES P0010 AND P0011.
AS SEVERAL OTHER PEOPLE WITH THIS VEHICLE HAVE REPORTED RECENTLY, WIPERS STOPPED WORKING WHILE IN A RAINSTORM. I TRIED CHANGING THE FUSE SINCE BUT NO CHANGE. I CAN HEAR THE MOTOR RUNNING WHEN SWITCHING TO THE ON POSITION BUT NO RESPONSE AT ALL FROM EITHER WIPE.
I HAVE ONLY HAD THE VEHICLE SINCE 11/2019. IT TWICE HAS HAD THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TO COME ON. THE FIRST TIME IT WAS IN 12/2019. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON FOR ABOUT A WEEK. THE AUTO START WAS NOT WORKING, AND THE ONLY ISSUE I SEEN WAS THAT IF IT SAT RUNNING FOR A WHILE LIKE FOR INSTANCES, WARMING UP, IT FLOODED AND THE ENGINE WOULD CONTINUE TO RUN A FEW SECONDS AFTER IGNITION KEY WAS TAKEN OUT OF THE IGNITION. ENGINE WOULD STOP AFTER BUBBLING TO A STOP. THEN THE CHECK LIGHT WENT OUT AND EVERYTHING WORKED PROPERLY. BUT, ON 2/1/2020, MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN. MY AUTO START IS NOT WORKING AGAIN. AS LONG THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON, THE VEHICLE WILL NOT AUTO START. THE CAR IS AGAIN FLOODING OUT AFTER ENGINE SHUT DOWN. AFTER IGNITION KEY IS TAKEN OUT OF IGNITION. THE ENGINE WILL RUN FOR A FEW SECONDS AND THEN BUBBLE TO A ENGINE STOP. WONDER IF OTHER CUSTOMERS HAS HAD PROBLEMS LIKE THIS TOO? BUT, THAT IS NOT NORMAL FOR A VEHICLE TO HAVE A CHECK ENGINE LIKE TO COME ON AND IT INTERFERES WITH THE AUTO START AND CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO FLOOD OUT LIKE IT DOES.
CAR CUT OFF WHEN GEAR IN DRIVE & BRAKE WAS LET GO. WOULD CUT RIGHT BACK ON BUT SAME ISSUE CONTINUED. ONCE CAR WAS ABLE TO GO IT SHOOK IF DRIVEN OVER 20MPH.
VEHICLE HAS 85000 MILES AND NEEDS NEW TIMING CHAIN DUE TO BURNING OIL. QUOTED $2200-$2800 FOR REPAIR. ROUGH RIDING, WANTS TO STALL AT LOWER SPEEDS, SLOW DOWNS AND STOPS. STILL OWE ON THIS VEHICLE, BOUGHT FROM DEALERSHIP NOT EVEN TWO YEARS AGO.
THIS CAR BURNS 3 QUARTS OF OIL BETWEEN 5000 MILE OIL CHANGE INTERVALS. IT HAS DONE IT SINCE IT WAS NEW. I JUST FOUND OUT IT IS BECAUSE OF A FAULTY PCV SYSTEM.01
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 GMC TERRAIN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 40 MPH, OIL PRESSURE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT VEERED TO THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD, GOT OUT THE VEHICLE AND DISCOVERED THE OIL FLOWING OUT THE ENGINE. AAA WAS CONTACTED AND TOWED THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER REICHARD CHEVROLET: 575 ARLINGTON RD, BROOKVILLE, OH 45309(937) 833-4011 WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE MAIN SEAL FRACTURED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE EXTENDED WARRANTIES EXPIRED BUT THEY WOULD OFFER $100 CERTIFICATION FOR REPAIRS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 109,000.
WHILE DRIVING MY TRUCK POWER REDUCE DRASTICALLY WITHOUT ME BRAKING. THE DASH SHOWS STABILIZER CONTROL REDUCING POWER.
I BEEN CHANGING MY OIL EVERY 2000 MILES HOWEVER ENGINE OIL STAYS LOW; SEVERAL SENSOR MALFUNCTIONED STATING THAT THE THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR, CAMSHAFT SENSOR, AND CRANKSHAFT SENSOR WAS BAD BUT IN FACT IT WAS THE ENGINE. WHILE AT THE REPAIR SHOP TO REPLACE THE CAMSHAFT SENSOR BECAUSE THE VEHICLE WOULDN'T START I LEARNED THAT THE ENGINE LOCKED AND HAD TO BE REPLACED THE ENGINE DUE TO LOW TO NO OIL IN THE ENGINE BUT IN FACT I GOT THE OIL CHANGE 2-3 MONTHS AGO
WHILE DRIVING HOME FROM WORK ON THE HIGHWAY DURING A THUNDERSTORM, THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS STOPPED WORKING WHICH FORCED ME TO PULL OVER BECAUSE OF NO VIABILITY! I HAD TO WIATBFOR THE RAIN TO STOP IN ORDER TO MAKE IT HOME. HAVE REPLACED FUSE AND THEY ARE STILL NOT WORKING! WAS TOLD THAT THE MOTOR MAY HAVE FAILED AND WOULD COST AROUND 300 TO 400 DOLLARS TO REPAIR. HAVE SEEN MULTIPLE REPORTS OF OTHERS HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. WIPERS ARE STILL NOT WORKING AS I AM UNABLE TO AFFORD REPAIR COST.
WIPERS STOPPED WORKING IN THE MIDDLE OF FUNCTIONING PROPERLY ON THE EXPRESSWAY IN THE MIDDLE OF A RAIN STORM. CHECKED FUSE & RELAY - ALL HAVE POWER. REGULATOR BROKEN.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 GMC TERRAIN. WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE CONTACT SWERVED TO AVOID A DEER. AS A RESULT, SHE DROVE OFF THE ROAD INTO A TALL GRASS AREA AND STRUCK A CONCEALED CABLE BOX. THE PASSENGER SIDE GRILL WAS DAMAGED AND THERE WAS A SMALL DENT ON THE HOOD. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY ALTHOUGH THE AIR BAG INDICATOR WAS ILLUMINATED. THERE WAS A BURNING ODOR COMING FROM THE VEHICLE, THE FLASHERS ACTIVATED ON ITS OWN, AND THE INTERIOR LIGHTS FAILED TO SHUT OFF. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED MINOR BRUISES ON HER WRIST AND SORENESS FROM THE SEAT BELT RETRACTING. MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS NOT RECEIVED. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO BE RESTARTED AND DRIVEN HOME. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 96,423. *DT CONSUMER STATED BOTH SEAT BELTS WERE LOCKED.*JB
WHILE DRIVING IN HEAVY RAIN ON CITY STREETS MY WIPERS SUDDENLY STOPPED WORKING. I WAS ABLE TO STOP WITHOUT HAVING A WRECK AND WAS CLOSE TO A GMC DEALERSHIP. I DROVE VERY SLOW WITH GREAT DIFFICULTY TO THE DEALER AND HAD TO LEAVE THE VEHICLE THERE. THIS IS A SATURDAY AND WILL NOT HEAR FROM THEM UNTIL MONDAY AS TO THE REPAIR.
CAR STALLS WHEN MAKING A RIGHT TURN. I STARTED MY CAR AND TRIED TO TURN RIGHT AND CONTINUOUSLY STALLED UNTIL MY CAR WAS DONE TURNING.
WE BOUGHT OUR TERRAIN BRAND NEW IN 2014, I HAVE REPLACED THE LINKAGE ONCE ABOUT 2 MONTHS AGO AND NOW THE WIPERS DO NOT WORK AGAIN. OUR TRANSMISSION IS GOING AND WE JUST GOT OUT OF 5 YEAR WARRANTY. SO DISAPPOINTED AND FRUSTRATED WITH THIS VEHICLE
THE CAR AT 80K HAD ITS ENGINE REPAIRED UNDER WARRANTY FOR A BAD DEAL WHICH THEN RUINED PISTONS AND ETC. AT 155K IT DID THE SAME AND POWERED DOWN ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WITH ENGINE ISSUES. I WAS DRIVING ON THE ROAD WHEN THIS HAPPENED LEAVING ME ON A CURVE AND THE ENGINE FUMING AND OIL POURING OUT UNDER NEATH
I HAVE A 2014 GMC TERRAIN WITH 102000 APPROXIMATELY. I RECEIVED NOTICE THAT I NEEDED TO CHANGE MY OIL. I WENT ABOUT 50 MILES AND STARTED MAKING A BUBBLY SOUND. WHEN I WENT TO GET MY OIL CHANGED, THE MECHANIC SAID IT WAS SO LONG THEY COULDN'T GET SOME ON THE DIP STICK. I LEFT THE MECHANIC WITH 100% OF OIL AND JUST DROVE TO SAN ANTONIO AND IT IS DOWN TO 98 %. I HAVE A 2008 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER AND HAVE NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM.
THE PCV SYSTEM THERE'S PLUGGED UP DUMPING OIL INTO THE INTAKE AND TO THE THROTTLE BODY OILS IN THE INTAKE MANIFOLD CRANKCASE TOO MUCH PRESSURE
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 GMC TERRAIN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SOON AFTER RECEIVING AN OIL CHANGE, THE OIL WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE PCV VALVE WAS CLOGGED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. NEITHER THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
WIPERS FOR MY GMC TERRAIN 2014 STOP WORKING IN MIDDLE OF HEAVY RAIN IN HIGHWAY. MANAGED TO PULL OVER AND WAIT FOR RAIN TO STOP. YOU CAN HEAR MOTOR RUNNING. THERE WAS A RECALL FOR OTHER YEARS BUT 2014 WAS NOT INCLUDED.
I WAS DRIVING OUR VEHICLE ON 8/28/2019 AND THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS STOPPED WORKING DURING A DOWNPOUR. LUCKILY WE HAD GOTTEN OFF OF THE HIGHWAY, WERE CLOSE TO HOME, AND WERE ABLE TO SLOWLY MAKE IT HOME, BUT HAD THE FAILURE HAPPENED ON THE HIGHWAY THE RESULTS COULD HAVE BEEN CATASTROPHIC. TOOK THE CAR TO OUR MARTYS BUICK/GMC IN KINGSTON, MA AND THEY INFORMED US THAT THE WIPER MODULE AND TRANSMISSION ASSEMBLY HAD FAILED AND WE HAVE TO VEHICLE REPAIRED FOR ROUGHLY $400. THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN WELL DOCUMENTED AND RECALLS ISSUED IN CANADA FROM THIS MAKE, YEAR, AND MODEL VEHICLE. NO SO IN THE US. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE AND NEEDS TO BE RECTIFIED.
THE POWERED LIFT GATE RAISED ALL THE WAY UP (AS REQUESTED), THEN DROPPED UNEXPECTEDLY ON MY WIFE'S BACK AND HEAD THEN RAISED AGAIN THEN DROPPED AND LATCHED. THE POWERED LIFT GATE REPEATS THIS UPON EVERY REQUEST TO OPEN AND WILL NOT REMAIN OPEN, MAKING THE REAR CARGO AREA BASICALLY USELESS. THE LIFT GATE IS VERY HEAVY AND COULD POSSIBLY INJURE SOMEONE WHEN DROPPING DOWN UNEXPECTEDLY. THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN OUR GARAGE UPON THE FIRST TIME AND THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN PARKED EACH TIME THE LIFT GATE WAS REQUESTED TO OPEN.
HAVE NOT DRIVEN VEHICLE FOR A MONTH OR MORE BECAUSE OF PRESSURE WHEN BRAKING. REQUIRED MORE PRESSURE WHEN HOLDING BRAKE AT RED LIGHT OR IN TRAFFIC. FELT AS IF MY FOOT WOULD SLIP OFF BRAKE.
WHILE DRIVING ON A CITY STREET THE 2014 GMC SIERRA 6.2 L V8 LOST POWER AND STARTED RUNNING ROUGH AS APPROACHING AN INTERSECTION. I WAS ABLE TO STOP, AND REVERSE THE VEHICLE AWAY FROM THE INTERSECTION, TO GET OUT OF TRAFFIC. THE ENGINE LIGHT WAS FLASHING AND THE TRUCK SHUT DOWN, IT WAS UNABLE TO RESTART. THE TRUCK HAD UNDER 60,000 MILES ON IT AT THE TIME OF THE FIRST INCIDENT. IT WAS TOWED TO A GM DEALER SHOP FOR REPAIR. THIS FIRST INCIDENT TOOK PLACE IN AUGUST OF 2019. THE ROCKER ARM AND EXHAUST SPRING HAD TO BE REPLACED IN THE #2 CYLINDER, THE CYLINDER HEAD HAD TO BE REBUILT WITH A NEW HEAD. IN ADDITION THEY REPLACED 4 FUEL INJECTORS. IN DECEMBER OF 2019, A SECOND INCIDENT HAPPEN WHILE DRIVING ON A CITY STREET, THE ENGINE STARTED RUNNING ROUGH, I WAS CLOSE ENOUGH TO MY HOUSE TO GET IT HOME, PARK IT AND IT WAS TOWED TO A A CERTIFIED GM DEALER SHOP FOR REPAIR. THIS TIME IT HAD 61,752 MILES ON THE VEHICLE, THE NUMBER 5 SPRING BROKE. IT IS AT THE SHOP WAITING ON SPRING REPLACEMENT, THEY ARE IN BACKORDER, THERE IS NOT PROJECTED TIME THE REPAIR WILL BE COMPLETE.
MY CAR MAKES A RUBBING NOISE WHEN AND ONLY WHEN YOU STOP. ALSO MY FORWARD COLLISION ALERT COMES ON WHEN NOTHING IS IN FRONT OF ME. SOMETIMES IT WON'T EVEN COME ON WHEN A CAR IS IN FRONT OF ME.
MY DASHBOARD AND RADIO FLICKER ON AND OFF AND MAJORITY OF THE TIME STAYS OFF . MY BACK CAMERA IS CONNECTED TO THE RADIO AND MY CAMERA WORKS WHEN IT FEELS LIKE IT . WHEN IM DRIVING THE RADIO AND LL THE LIGHT OF THE DASHBOARD AND RADIO WILL JUST CUT OFF , WHEN IM BACKING UP THE CAMERA SHUTS OFF . *TR
VEHICLE WITH ONLY 75,00 MILES, RUNS ROUGH AND STALLS, WENT TO DEALER AND THEY SAY DUE TO LOW OIL AT SOME POINT THE TIMING CHAIN HAS STRETCHED AND NEEDS REPLACED ALONG WITH SENSORS AND ACTUATORS. TIMING CHAIN AND ASSOCIATED PARTS REPLACED TO THE TUNE OF $1715.00. I CHECK THE OIL AND THE DEALERSHIP HAS BEEN CHANGING IT. THIS LOOKS TO BE A FACTORY DEFECT. I HAVE SENT A LETTER TO GM FOR RESOLUTION AS WELL.
Around 76k miles the vehicle started to stall, the engine completely stopped while in drive. The vehicle was burning oil and had terrible gas milage prior to stalling incidents. The first time it stalled was at an intersection with a traffic light, when we went to slow down the engine completely shut down. My infant daughter was in the car with me and it was terrifying. We would have been hit had the light not been turning red. After that we recognized that it typically stalled after starting the car and attempting to accelerate. At times it happened when pulling out of a parking lot onto a busy street and I would loose engine power. This was extremely scary due to not being able to get out of the way of oncoming traffic. I had to put my flashers on and roll to the side of the road where I could restart the car. The engine ran really loud and rough when the issue first started and even after repairs the engine is still loud when first starting from cold. After time the issue persisted and I noticed that after the first start and stall if I revved the engined hard it did not stall a second or third time. Prior to that there were times the vehicle stalled 2-3 times after first start. The first time I took it to a garage (79k) there was a check engine light on and they diagnosed a sensor that needed to be changed. The problem persisted after the sensor was changed. I contacted another local garage who said there are known engine issues with this make and model and they wouldn't touch it and suggested taking it to the dealer. The dealer said they are familiar with this issue and the engine needed to be rebuilt for $4500. This was quite a shock given the car only had 88k miles on it at the time we contacted the dealer. After the dealer repairs the engine no longer stalls. Recalls on this model only go through 2013. The date on my radio resets to October 13, 2013 when the battery is disconnected so it seems this issue is persisting in models not included in the lawsuit.
MY CAR COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN WHILE TURNING A CORNER (POWERED OFF). I ALMOST HIT A TREE BECAUSE I WAS UNABLE TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL. ONCE I APPLIED THE BRAKE AND PUT IT INTO PARK, I WAS ABLE TO RESTART IT WITH NO APPARENT ISSUE.

DRIVING HOME ON THE HIGHWAY THIS PAST WEEK DURING A RAIN STORM, MY WIPER BLADES SUDDENLY SLIPPED OFF THE SIDE OF THE WINDSHIELD AND WOULD NO LONGER MOVE. THEY BECAME STUCK LEANING OVER THE DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW. I TRIED TO PUSH THEM BACK BUT THEY WOULD NOT MOVE. I COULD HEAR THE MOTOR BUT THEY WERE IN A SET POSITION. I HAD TO GO TO AN AUTOMOTIVE REPAIR SHOP AND HAD THE WIPER TRANSMISSION REPLACED.U
WHILE DRIVING IN A HEAVY DOWNPOUR ON I-71 IN CLEVELAND, OHIO, MY WIPERS STOPPED SUDDENLY. I HAD TO PULL OVER ON THE SIDE OF THE FREEWAY FOR SEVERAL HOURS UNTIL THE RAIN STOPPED IN ORDER TO CONTINUE ON. THIS COULD HAVE RESULTED IN AN ACCIDENT AND SERIOUS INJURIES OR EVEN DEATH ESPECIALLY DUE TO THE LOCATION, RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC AND SPEED (60MPH). UP TO THIS POINT, I HAVE HAD ZERO ISSUES AND INDICATIONS THAT SOMETHING WAS WRONG. I WAS SHOOK TO THE CORE AND NOW HAVE TO PAY TO SEE WHAT EXACTLY WAS THE CAUSE BUT WANTED TO REPORT IT IMMEDIATELY DUE TO OTHER COMPLAINTS. THANK YOU.
MY WIFE WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD IN A RAINSTORM ON JUNE 13, 2019 AND BOTH WIPERS SUDDENLY STOPPED WORKING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP ON FRIDAY, JUNE 14 AND WE WERE CHARGED $350 TO REPLACE THE WIPER TRANSMISSION AND THE DEALER TOLD US THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT PART OF A RECALL . I COULD HEAR THE MOTOR WORKING BUT THE WIPERS WERE NOT MOVING.
I WAS DRIVING 70MPH ON HIGHWAY DURING RAIN STORM. THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS ALL OF A SUDDEN STOPPED WORKING. I WAS NEARLY IN AN ACCIDENT DUE TO NO VISIBILITY AND MADE IT TO THE BERM OF THE HIGHWAY. I HAD TO SIT THERE FOR OVER AN HOUR UNTIL THE STORM PASSED. TOOK TO DEALERSHIP NEXT DAY AND THEY SAID THE WIPER LINKAGE TRANSMISSION FAILED. I DID RESEARCH AND GM IS AWARE OF THIS ISSUE HOWEVER ONLY ISSUED RECALL ON 2013 MODELS IN THE US. GM CANADA HAS ISSUED RECALL ON MODEL YEARS THROUGH 2016. GM IS AWARE OF THIS ISSUE AND ARE PUTTING LIVES AT RISK. IT MAKES NO SENSE WHY THEY ISSUE A RECALL IN ONE COUNTRY AND NOT THE OTHER. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE ASAP.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY YESTERDAY IN HEAVY RAIN, MY WINDSHIELD WIPERS COMPLETELY STOPPED WORKING. I WAS IN THE PASSING LANE, BESIDE A SEMI, AND SUDDENLY I HAD ALMOST ZERO VISIBILITY!!! I MANAGED TO GET TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND STOPPED, BUT NOT WITHOUT ALMOST CAUSING A WRECK THAT WOULD HAVE INVOLVED SEVERAL VEHICLES. WHILE SITTING THERE WAITING FOR IT TO QUIT RAINING, I BEGAN TO RESEARCH WHAT THE ISSUE COULD BE. I WAS BEYOND UPSET TO FIND OUT THAT THIS EXACT ISSUE HAS ALREADY BEEN REPORTED TO YOUR AGENCY MORE THAN 20 TIMES! FURTHER, THESE DEFECTIVE WIPER ASSEMBLIES HAVE ALREADY BEEN RECALLED IN CANADA BECAUSE THEY POSE A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE!!! IT IS ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS AND NEGLIGENT TO NOT ISSUE A RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE TO BE CORRECTED. I DEMAND AN EXPLANATION AS TO WHY IT'S APPARENTLY GOING TO TAKE SOMEONE ACTUALLY GETTING KILLED BECAUSE OF THIS NONSENSE BEFORE ANY ACTION IS TAKEN!?!?!?!
I WAS DIVING DOWN GRATIOT STREET IN SAGINAW MICHIGAN, IT WAS RAINING HEAVILY AND MY WINDSHIELD WIPER DECIDED TO STOP WORKING COMPLETELY. I LOST ALL VISIBILITY AND HAD PULLED OVER IMMEDIATELY TO AVOID CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. WHILE SITTING IN MY CAR WAITING FOR THE RAIN TO STOP I REALIZE THAT MY WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR WAS STILL WORKING, BECAUSE I COULD HEAR IT MOVING BACK AND FORTH. BUT MY WIPERS WERE NOT. I HAVE READ THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH SOME OF THE HARD WEAR AND A LOT OF PRIOR YEARS HAVE BEEN RECALLED. I'VE ALREADY HAD TO REPLACE THE ENGINE IN THIS CAR, NOW ONLY TO FIND OUT THAT THIS CAR WITH IT FAULTY EQUIPMENT CAN POTENTIALLY CAUSE ME MY LIFE... I WILL NOT RECOMMEND THIS VEHICLE TO ANYONE.
THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS QUIT WORKING WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY IN A RAIN STORM. WIPER TRANSMISSION FAILED. VEHICLE HAD TO BE ABANDONED OVERNIGHT DUE TO NOT BEING ABLE TO DRIVE IN THE RAIN.
MY 2014 GMC TERRAIN HAS STALLED ON ME 11 TIMES. I CANNOT MAKE ANY RHYME OR REASON OUT OF IT. IT WILL STALL AFTER A 10 MILE DRIVE, IT WILL STALL AFTER A 2 MILES DRIVE. THE STALLS SEEM TO HAPPEN WHEN I AM COMING FROM A STOP, LIKE WHEN I STOP TO PUT MY CAR IN REVERSE TO BACK INTO MY GARAGE. OR WHEN I STOP AT A LIGHT OR STOP SIGN. EACH TIME THE CAR STARTS AGAIN, BUT RIDES REALLY ROUGHLY. AT STOP SIGNS AND STOP LIGHTS I FEEL THE CAR START TO TREMOR, SO I PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL AND CROSS MY FINGERS. I NEED TO KEEP MY FOOT ON THE GAS TO KEEP IT RUNNING. THIS IS JUST UNSAFE TO DRIVE A CAR LIKE THIS. THIS STARTED ABOUT 6 WEEKS AGO, AND NOW IT HAPPENED 3 TIMES THIS PAST WEEKEND.
