DASH BOARD IN THE INTERIOR OF THE VEHILCE IS CRACKING IN MULTIPLE PLACES THROUGHOUT THE TOP OF THE DASH
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 GMC YUKON XL. WHILE DRIVING, THE SUN ROOF INADVERTENTLY EXPLODED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE CONTACT HEARD WIND BLOWING THROUGH THE SUN ROOF. UPON FURTHER INSPECTION, HE NOTICED A HOLE IN THE SUN ROOF GLASS. THE CONTACT CALLED BRIAN HARRIS CHEVROLET AT (225) 910-6907 (15015 FLORIDA BLVD, BATON ROUGE, LA 70819) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE DEALER WAS CLOSED AND HE WOULD BE CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 98,000.
DASHBOARD HAS CRACKED IN MULTIPLE PLACES INCLUDING AROUND THE AIR BAG CAUSING CONCERN FOR SAFETY IF THE VEHICLE IS INVOLVED IN A CRASH.

SERVICE AIR BAG WILL NOT GO AWAY
CRACK IN DASHBOARD AT THE AIRBAG
WHILE DRIVING CAR AT RANDOM TIMES IT WILL SHUTOFF AND YOU WILL LOOSE STEERING AND ALL ELECTRONICS MOMENTARILY AND THEN CAR WILL TURN BACK ON. IT ONLY DOES THIS WHILE DRIVING STRAIGHT OR TURNING ON ROUGHER PAVEMENT. ONCE THIS HAPPENS THE NEXT TIME YOU TURN OFF THE CAR AND TRY TO START THE CAR THE KEY WILL NOT TURN ON ANY OF THE ELECTRONICS AND WILL NOT START THE VEHICLE. IF YOU CONTINUOUSLY TAKE THE KEY OUT AND REINSERT UNTIL AND THE CAR WILL EVENTUALLY START.
I AM THE ORGINAL OWNER OF MY GMC YUKON DENALI 2012 AND IT HAS BEEN GARAGED MOST OF ITS LIFE. ABOUT 2 MONTHS AGO MY DASH STARTED TO VIBRATE THEN I NOTICE A LARGE CRACK IN THE DASH JUST ABOVE THE SPEEDOMETER. THE FACT I HAVE TAKEN SUCH GOOD CARE OF THIS VEHICLE LEADS ME TO BELIEVE THIS IS A DEFECT IN THE DESIGN. THE CARS VALUE IS DIMINISHED DRAMATICALLY DUE TO THIS VISIBLE DEFECT. I HAVE HEARD GM IS NO HELP ON THIS BUT IN MY OPINION GM'S DEFECT HAS CAUSED A DIMINISHED VALUE IN MY VEHICLE AND THEREFORE THEY ARE LIABLE FOR ANY REPAIR THAT IS NEEDED TO MY CAR TO BRING IT BACK TO THE CONDITION IT WAS BEFORE THE DEFECT WAS VISIBLE. THERE IS CASE LAW ALL OVER THE PLACE TO SUPPORT THIS.
ABOUT ONE YEAR AGO WE NOTICED A SMALL CRACK AT THE CORNER OF THE 'LID' TO THE PASSENGER SEAT AIR BAG. NOW WE HAVE A CRACK AT THE HUMP OF THE STEERING WHEEL THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN TO US AS IT COULD RESULT IN TERRIBLE INJURY IN ANY NUMBER OF WAYS. 1THE AIR BAG COULD EXPLODE AT ANY TIME DUE TO THE CRACK IN THE LID AREA, WITHOUT ANY WARNING AND WITHOUT THE RESULT OF BEING IN AN ACCIDENT THUS HARMING ANYONE IN THE PASSENGER SEAT 2THE BROKEN DASH COULD RESULT IN TERRIFIC INJURY IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT AND AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT AS THE BRITTLE PIECES AND SHARP EDGES OF CRACKED PLASTIC BECOME FLYING IN THE CAR 3THE AIRBAG COULD MISFIRE DUE TO THE DAMAGED LID (FOR EXAMPLE; HITTING AND BREAKING THE WINDSHIELD AND NOT PROTECTING THE HEAD OF THE PASSENGER) CAUSING FURTHER INJURY AND HARM 4THE CRACK IN THE PLASTIC OF THE DASHBOARD COULD BE EVEN MORE EXTENSIVE THAN WE CAN SEE. THE ENTIRE DASHBOARD COULD BE DEFECTIVE AND CRACKED AND SUDDENLY FALL OFF AS THE RESULT OF A BUMP OR POTHOLE CAUSING INJURY AND POSSIBLE ACCIDENT 5THE DEFECTIVE DASHBOARD PLASTIC COULD HAVE CRACKS THAT WOULD CAUSE WIRING TO BE PINCHED, CUT OR SEVERED CAUSING HEAT, FIRE, AND POSSIBLE ACCIDENTS AND INJURIES 6SUN SHINING THRU THE WINDSHIELD COULD CAUSE THE CRACKS TO WIDEN 7OUR FAVORITE 87 YEAR OLD MOM USUALLY RIDES IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. SHE IS IRREPLACEABLE AND INVALUABLE. 8THIS IS AND HAS BEEN A 'KNOWN' ISSUE TO GMC. 9WE ARE BOTH DISABLED AND ON FIXED INCOMES. WE ARE UNABLE TO REPAIR THIS OURSELVES AND SHOULD NOT HAVE TO. SAFETY AND DEPENDABILITY IS ONE OF THE REASONS WE ALWAYS PURCHASED GMC YUKONS. THIS IS OUR 4TH GMC YUKON/SUBURBAN. WE NEVER DOUBTED THAT GMC MADE QUALITY PRODUCTS THAT WERE CONSUMER SAFE. NOW THIS DASHBOARD AIRBAG ISSUE HAS US VERY WORRIED AND CONCERNED FOR OUR HEALTH AND SAFETY AND THE HEALTH AND SAFETY OF ALL OUR FAMILY AND PASSENGERS
THE DASHBOARD IS CRACKED AROUND THE PASSENGER AIRBAG AND I THINK THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD.
OVER THE PAST FOUR MONTHS MY 2012 YUKON HAS BEEN HESITATING / STOPPING. I HAVE ACCELERATE INTO IN THE INTERSECTION AND VEHICLE HESITATED ALMOST CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAS CAME ON AND OFF NUMEROUS TIMES, FLASHING STABILIZATION AND TRACTION SWITCHING ON AND OFF. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AT LEAST FIVE TIMES EACH TIME THEY SAID THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH MY VEHICLE SECOND TO THE LAST TIME THEY STATED I NEEDED A NEW FUEL PUMP WHICH THEY REPLACED AND THE PROBLEM CONTINUED WITH IN TWO DAYS AND CONTINUES TO THIS DAY . THE LAST TIME I TOOK IT IN THEY STATED THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH GM VEHICLES FROM 2013 TO 2017 CAUSING STALLING HESITATION LACK OF PERFORMANCE IN A SETTING IN HIGH AMBIENT TEMPERATURES AND THERE IS NO FIX FOR IT . I BELIEVE THIS IS A GREAT SAFETY RISK FOR INDIVIDUALS WHO LIVE IN HIGH CLIMATE AREAS .
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 GMC YUKON XL 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE LIFTGATE FAILED TO CLOSE UPON PRESSING THE LIFTGATE BUTTON. THE CONTACT WOULD HAVE TO CLOSE THE LIFTGATE MANUALLY. ADDITIONALLY, THE LIFTGATE OCCASIONALLY CLOSED AFTER BEING OPENED, STRIKING THE OCCUPANT. THERE WAS NO INJURIES REPORTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO LUKE FRUIA MOTORS (2645 BARNARD RD, BROWNSVILLE, TX 78520) WHERE SHE WAS GIVEN AN ESTIMATE FOR THE REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER HAD BEEN NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND THEY REFERRED HER BACK TO THE DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 62,000.
THE DASHBOARD OVER THE INSTRUMENT PANEL IS CRACKING AND SPREADING. IT SEEMS AS THOUGH THE CRACK IS GETTING LARGER BY THE DAY.
DASHBOARD CRACKED IN SEVERAL PLACES INCLUDING ABOVE STEERING COLUMN AND AROUND PASSENGER AIRBAG IN DASHBOARD. OCCURRED WHEN VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AND NOT IN USE.

DASHBOARD HAS SIGNIFICANT CRACKING IN IT AFTER ONLY 60,000 MILES. BOTH ON PASSENGER SIDE NEAR AIR BAG AND ABOVE DRIVERS SIDE CONTROLS.
@ 97,000 MILES, GETTING CYLINDER #4 MISS FIRE CODES, REPLACED ALL PLUGS AND AFFECTED COILS PACKS. NOW MOTOR IS MAKING A TICKING SOUND FORM LIFTERS. DEALER SAID IT NEEDS NEW ENGINE DUE TO THE AFM SYSTEM PROBLEMS.
DASHBOARD IS CRACKING. IF AIRBAG IS DEPLOYED DASH MAY PRESENT A FLYING OBJECTS SAFETY HAZARD WITH PIECES OF DASH ACTING AS PROJECTILES.
CRACKS IN DASH NEXT TO AIRBAG; QUESTIONABLE AFFECT ON AIRBAG.
THERE ARE TWO CRACKS ON DASH LOCATED ON BOTH SIDES JUST ABOVE PASSENGER AIRBAG . I AM WORRIED ABOUT PLASTIC PROJECTILES IF INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT. I AM AWARE OF SEVERAL THOUSAND OTHER COMPLAINTS OF THE EXACT SAME NATURE. I HAD SPOKE TO FAULKNER GMC TREVOSE ABOUT THIS ISSUE.THEY DID INFORM ME THEY WERE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM AND THAT THEY HAD SEVERAL OTHER COMPLAINTS BUT REFUSED TO HELP DUE TO THE EXPIRATION OF MY BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY. THERE WAS NO TRAUMA TO VEHICLE. DASHBOARD IS JUST CRACKING. THE VEHICLE IS EXCEPTIONALLY TAKEN CARE OF AND GARAGE KEPT.
WHEN PRESSING DOWN ON ACCELERATOR TO GET INTO TRAFFIC FLOW SOMETHING STICKS SO THAT THE ENGINE RUNS AT HIGH SPEED UNTIL YOU KICK THE PEDAL TWO OR THREE TIMES TO RELEASE WHAT EVER IS STICKING. HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES.
THE DASH BOARD IS CRACKING AND THE DEALER WILL NOT COVER ANY REPAIR BECAUSE THE VEHICLE IS OUT OF WARRANTY. WHEN THE DASH BOARD FAILS TO PROTECT THE ELECTRONICS THERE IS A DANGER OF LOSS OF CONTROL. MY POSITION IS THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS MODEL AND IS A MANUFACTURING DEFECT AND A RECALL SHOULD BE ISSUED.
MY YUKON XL'S DASH BOARD IS CRACKING ALL OVER IT SOON PIECES WILL FLY OFF OF IT. I ONLY HAVE 47K MILES ON IT. HERE ARE PICTURES

RECENTLY PURCHASED A 2012 YUKON DENALI DIDN'T NOTICE THE CRACKS IN THE DASH WHEN I ORIGINALLY PURCHASED. IT HAS A CRACK ON THE DASH NEAR THE AIRBAG, AND ALSO A CRACK ABOVE THE INSTRUMENT PANEL IN FRONT OF THE STEERING WHEEL. I WOULD THINK IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH WITH A AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT THE DASH WOULD ALREADY BE COMPROMISED CAUSING INJURY TO THE DRIVER OR PASSENGER WITH SHARDS OF SHARP PLASTIC. ESPECIALLY BY THE PASSENGER AIRBAG. I HAVE RESEARCHED ONLINE AND NOTICED HUNDREDS IF NOT THOUSANDS OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE SAME ISSUE IN MODEL YEARS 07-14 IN CHEVY AND GM PRODUCTS. I HAVE CONTACTED GMC AND THE LOCAL DEALER DIRECTLY WITH BOTH PARTIES BASICALLY SAYING ITS NOT THEIR PROBLEM. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A DESIGN FLAW THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN RECALLED AND I AM SURPRISED THIS HAS NOT HAPPENED BY NOW..

CRACKED DASHBOARD TO THE RIGHT OF THE TRIP/MESSAGE CENTER ON THE DRIVERS SIDE.
WILL FOLLOW UP WITH MORE INFO, I LIVE IN THE NORTH EAST AND HAVE SPOKEN WITH TECH'S AT GM DEALERS AND THEY HAVE STATED THAT ITS JUST A COLD WEATHER ISSUE SO GM WONT FIX THE ISSUE, MY VEHICLE HAS HAD 8 OR 9 DOOR HANDLES REPLACED THE FASTENERS INSIDE OF DOOR ARE PLASTIC AND WATER GETS IN THERE FREEZES AND CRACKS PLASTIC THEN DOOR HANDLE BASICALLY COMES OFF IN YOU HAND, GM REFUSES TO STAND BEHIND IT AND SOON WANTS TO CHARGE ME APPROX. 180 EVERY TIME THIS HAPPENS AGAIN THEY HAVE REPLACE 8 OR 9 ALREADY AND ITS A 2012, I FEEL THIS IS BOTH A SAFETY ISSUE AND A BASIC FAULTY PRODUCT, DESIGN ON GM'S PART THAT THEY WILL NOT FIX.
CRACKED DASHBOARD ABOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER AND AT PASSENGER AIRBAG LOCATION. I DO NOT KNOW IF THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION OR STATIONARY WHEN IT HAPPENED. I NOTICED IT WHILE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY.
THE DASHBOARD SPONTANEOUSLY CRACKED ABOVE THE INSTRUMENT PANEL SECTION. THERE ARE MULTIPLE SECTIONS TO THE CRACK AND IS APPROXIMATELY 6"-8" IN LENGTH. THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED AT THE TIME OF THE CRACK. SUBSEQUENTLY, THE DASHBOARD MAKES VARIOUS VIBRATION, CHATTERING, AND RATTLING NOISES.
CRACKS IN DASH BOARD AND THEY ARE SPREADING. TWO CRACKS ARE ABOVE MY STEERING WHEEL. ONE CRACK HAS SPREAD TO THE AIRBAG COMPARTMENT.

DASH HAS CRACKED IN TWO SPOTS. ONE OF THE CRACKS IS ALONG THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG. SUV IS PARKED IN A GARAGE MOST OF THE TIME. 42,000 MILES
2012 GMC YUKON. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO AFTER DEALERSHIP SERVICED VEHICLE, NOISES, SHAKING SENSATION, STABILI TRAC LIGHT ILLUMINATES, HESITATES THEN STOPS. CONSUMER NOTICES FLAMES UNDERNEATH VEHICLE BEFORE COMPLETELY ENGULFED IN FLAMES. *SMD *TR
MY VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY, STATIONARY, ON A SUBURBAN STREET IN A SMALL TOWN OVERNIGHT BEGINNING AT ABOUT 8PM ON FRIDAY AUGUST 12,2016. THE FOLLOWING MORNING, AUGUST 13, 2016 AT AT ABOUT 7:30 AM I ENTERED THE VEHICLE TO GO TO THE STORE AND OBSERVED A LARGE CRACK RUNNING PERPENDICULAR WITH THE DASH FROM NEAR THE WINDOW TO A OVER THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER. THIS IS A KNOWN DEFECT WITH SIMILAR GM MODELS BETWEEN 2007-2013(14). THE SAFETY CONCERN IS THAT THE POORLY CRAFTED PLASTIC DASHBOARD CRACKS EASILY WITH NO PRESSURE APPLIED TO IT. THIS MEANS THAT THAT IN THE EVENT OF A COLLISION, WITH GREAT PRESSURE APPLIED, THE DASH WOULD DISINTEGRATE AT AN ALARMING RATE AND WOULD LEAD TO SHARDS OF PLASTIC IMPAILING THE OCCUPANTS OF THE VEHICLE WITH VARYING AMOUNTS OF HARM. THIS DEFECT IS WELL DOCUMENTED BY SEVERAL OTHER GM SUV/TRUCK OWNERS FOR THIS YEAR SPAN OF PRODUCTION.

LARGE CRACKS IN THE DASHBOARD FORMED AROUND PASSENGER AIRBAG AS WELL AS ABOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER. LOSS OF DASHBOARD INTEGRITY IN THE EVENT OF AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT SEEMS HIGHLY PROBABLE.
MY DASHBOARD IS CRACKED AT THE PASSENGER AIRBAG. I HAVE NOT BEEN INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT. I GOT INTO MY VEHICLE AND NOTICED THE CRACK. I AM CONCERNED ABOUT SAFETY IF MY AIRBAG DEPLOYS AND PLASTIC DASH PIECES TURN INTO PROJECTILES. MY VEHICLE WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER THE PROBLEM.

VEHICLE IS AT ALL TIMES ON GARAGE OR UNDER SHADE SO SUN HAS NO EFFECT TO THE DIFFECT. BOUGHT THE 2012 YUKON DENALI 1 YEAR AGO AS CERTIFIED PREOWNED VEHICLE WITH A 1 YEAR BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 GMC YUKON DENALI. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE, THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE AIR BAG CONTROL MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MODULE WAS REPLACED AND REPROGRAMMED AND THE FAILURE WAS REMEDIED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 86,000.
DASH BOARD HAS CRACKED IN TWO PLACES AROUND THE AIR BAG ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY WHEN THE CRACKS HAPPENED.
DASH BOARD IS CRACKING AND MAKING SQUEAKING NOISE
THE DASHBOARD CRACKED BY THE AIR BAG.
TAKATA RECALL -I FOUND NO RECORD OF RECALL BUT PASSENGER AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT IS ON AS WELL AS CRACKS ON THE DASHBOARD AROUND WHERE THE AIRBAGS WOULD DEPLOY. HEATED SEATS MALFUNCTION AND TURN ON AND ARE UNABLE TO BE TURNED OFF. FUEL TANK MILEAGE TO EMPTY UNRELIABLE. GAUGE CAN BE AT QUARTER TANK AND SAY 50 MILES TO EMPTY AND STALL DUE TO BEING OUT OF GAS. GAS GAUGE ISSUE CHANGES WHILE DRIVING...ON ROAD TRIPS THE GAS GAUGE WILL SUDDENLY CHANGE AND SAY THERE IS MORE GAS IN IT THAN THERE ACTUALLY IS. *TR
