For no apparent reason the dashboard is cracking. It started on driver side now there is another one near airbag and by speaker. This vehicle is well maintained and there should be no excuse for this
DASH BOARD CRACKED ABOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL AND AROUND THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG, THE VEHICLE WAS NOT MOVING WHEN CRACK HAPPENED, PARKED IT, WHEN I CAME BACK OUT TO DRIVE IT HAD BIG CRACK ABOVE THE INSTRUMENT PANEL AND SMALL CRACKS AROUND PASSENGERS AIRBAG.
DASH IS CRACKING AROUND AIRBAGS. AIRBAGS HAVE NEVER BEEN DEPLOYED
POWER LIFT GATE MALFUNCTION. THE POWER LIFT GATE STRUTS FAILED WHICH CAUSED THE LIFT GATE TO OPEN ONLY 1/3 OF THE WAY BEFORE CLOSING UNEXPECTEDLY. SOMETIME IT WOULD OPEN ALL THE AWAY, THE POWER ARM WOULD THEN DISENGAGE CAUSING IT TO UNEXPECTEDLY CLOSE. SOMETIME IT WOULD CLOSE AS "DEAD WEIGHT" WITH ENOUGH FORCE TO SERIOUSLY INJURE AN ADULT AND POSSIBLE KILL A CHILD OR PET. WHEN I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO THE DEALER, I WAS TOLD THE STRUTS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. I HAVE HAD THIS VEHICLE FOR TWO YEARS. I PURCHASED IT AS CERTIFIED USED. I WAS CHARGED $415 FOR THE REPAIR. UNFAIR AS THIS VEHICLE IS ONLY FOUR YEARS OLD! FURTHER, I AUTHORIZED THE WORK AT APPROXIMATELY 4:45PM, MY VEHICLE WAS COMPLETE BY 5:30PM THE SAME DAY. I WAS CHARGED TWO HOURS LABOR AT $125 PER HOUR. HOW IS THAT FAIR? MY VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY WHEN THIS HAPPENED, REPEATEDLY. I LOOK FORWARD TO YOUR RESPONSE. OTHER THAN THIS, I LOVE MY GMC!!!!!
Dash panel cracked via design defect. Damage has spread and poses a safety risk if airbags are deployed.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 GMC YUKON DENALI. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE FROM A STOP, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO HESITATE AND LOSE POWER, BUT THE ENGINE CONTINUED TO REV. THE FAILURE OCCURRED RANDOMLY WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS AT THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THERE ARE TWO CRACKS IN THE DASHBOARD. ONE SMALL HAIRLINE BY THE SPEAKER AND ONE BIG ONE BY THE AIRBAG. I AM CONCERNED THAT IF I HAVE AN ACCIDENT AND MY KIDS ARE IN THE CAR, THE AIRBAG WILL NOT DEPLOY. CAR WAS STATIONARY WHEN IT HAPPENED.
DURING INCLEMENT WEATHER (SNOW AND RAIN) WHEN WINDSHIELD WIPERS WERE NECESSARY FOR VISIBILITY, THE WIPERS WOULD EITHER MOVE VERY SLOWLY OR INTERMITTENTLY AND STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE WINDSHIELD DESPITE THE WIPER CONTROL SET TO HIGH AND NOT ON THE INTERMITTENT SETTING. THIS WOULD OCCUR WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS AT IDLE AND IN MOTION, ANY SPEED. THIS OCCURRED BETWEEN MARCH 2016 UNTIL A NEW WIPER MOTOR ASSEMBLY WAS PURCHASED AND INSTALLED WITHIN THE FIRST WEEK OF JULY 2016. I DID NOT RECEIVE ANY NOTICE OF RECALL FROM GMC HOWEVER I DID DISCOVER A RECALL THROUGH WWW.AUTOZONE.COM (# 15789: SERVICE PARTS SAFETY - WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR FAILURE - (OCT 26, 2015)) . ON 10/27/2016, I CALLED GMC TO SEE IF REIMBURSEMENT WAS POSSIBLE AND THEY COULD NOT ASSIST ME DUE TO THE BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY BEING EXPIRED. VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED CERTIFIED USED THROUGH AUCTIONDIRECTUSA ON 10/8/2015 WITH AN AMERIPLUS WARRANTY (36 MONTH/ 36000MILE).
I HAVE A 2012 GMC YUKON DENALI. I'VE HAD SEVERAL OCCASIONS WHERE I'M DRIVING AND THE TRUCK TURNS OFF/OR EXPERIENCES A "SHORT" FOR A FEW SECONDS. I HAVE CHECKED ALL ELECTRICAL CABLES AND HAVE EXCHANGED BATTERIES TWICE (AS THEY "DRAINED"). A FEW MONTHS BACK MY DASHBOARD STARTED CRACKING AS WELL, FIRST IT WAS A SMALL CRACK NEAR THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG. LATER ANOTHER CRACK BY THE STEERING WHEEL, WHICH HAD NOW FORMED A LARGE "V".
THE PLASTIC DASHBOARD STRUCTURE OF THE FRONT DASH (ABS PLASTIC) IS CRACKING AND SEPARATING SPONTANEOUSLY. LARGE CRACK DEVELOPED IN FROM OF THE DRIVER AND IS EXPANDING WITH MULTIPLE OFFSHOOTS CAUSING THE DASH STRUCTURE TO SPLIT IN TWO AND IS IN DANGER OF FRAGMENTING. CRACK OCCURRED WHILE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AND IS GROWING EACH DAY.
DASHBOARD IS CRACKED AND CONTINUES TO GROW. DEALER SAID IT WAS $2000 TO FIX AND SAID ALMOST ALL OF THESE MODELS COME IN WITH THE SAME CRACK. THERE WAS NO SPECIFIC INCIDENT THAT LED TO THE CRACK.
CRACKED DASHBOARD ON BOTH DRIVERS AND PASSENGERS SIDE. CRACKS MAY IMPEDE PROPER AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT AND/OR SEND DASHBOARD FRAGMENTS INTO PASSENGER COMPARTMENT DURING AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT.
THE DASHBOARD IS CRACKING ON THE DRIVERS SIDE INSTRUMENT COVER AND RIGHT INTO THE AIR BAG DASH LOCATION. ONLY 43,000 MILES MAINLY GARAGE KEPT AND SUNSHADE INSTALLED WHEN OUT OF COVER.THE SAME THING HAPPENED ON A 2007 SUBURBAN.
DASH HAS CRACKED ABOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL. CRACK IS APPROXIMATELY 6-8-INCHES IN LENGTH. DASH IS ALSO CRACKED IN TWO LOCATIONS ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. I FEEL THESE CRACKS COULD BE A SAFETY CONCERN WHEN THE AIRBAGS ARE DEPLOYED. THESE CRACKS OCCURRED UNDER NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS ARE NOT THE RESULT OF A PREVIOUS ACCIDENT OR BEING STRUCK BY AN OBJECT.
CRACKED DASHBOARD
CRACKED DASH BOARD. APPEARED SUDDENLY. CAR WAS NOT IN MOTION AND PARKED WHEN CRACK WAS DISCOVERED. IT'S A 2012 YUKON XL SO NOT AN OLDER MODEL.
DASHBOARD CRACKING IN MULTIPLE LOCATIONS, CRACKS INCREASE IN LENGTH AND ARE RUNNING UP THE COWLING OVER THE INSTRUMENT PANEL AND COMING FROM THE PASSENGER AIRBAG HOUSING
THE PLASTIC DASH ON MY YUKON IS CRACKING AROUND THE PASSENGER AIRBAG AND IN FRONT OF THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE. SEEMS LIKE IF THE PASSENGER AIRBAG WERE TO GO OFF THAT IT WOULD PROPEL PIECES OF THIS BROKEN PLASTIC DASH.
I AM THE OWNER OF A 2012 GMC YUKON DENALI XL. I PURCHASED THIS SUV IN SEPT 2013 USED WITH LESS THAN 2000 MILES. I NOTICED A HAIRLINE CRACKED ABOVE MY AIRBAG MODULE ON THE DASH BOARD AT THE BEGINNING OF THE END OF APRIL 2015. I FEEL THAT THIS CRACKED DASH IS A SAFETY CONCERN. IF THERE WAS AN ACCIDENT WHERE THE AIRBAGS WAS TO DEPLOY IT CAN CAUSE SHRAPNEL AND MAJOR DAMAGE OR HARM TO ANYONE IN THE TRUCK. I HAVE 4 KIDS IN WHICH TWO OF THEM ARE TEENAGERS THAT SIT IN THAT FRONT PASSENGER SEAT.
AT SOME POINT NEAR 65000 MILES, A VERY LARGE CRACK APPEARED OVER THE INSTRUMENT PANEL, AS WELL AS A SMALL CRACK EXTENDING INTO THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG AREA. I WORRY ABOUT MY CHILDREN'S SAFETY IF WE WERE IN AN ACCIDENT AND PLASTIC PIECES GO FLYING.
I HAVE BEEN A LONG TIME BUYER OF GM PRODUCTS, I STILL HAVE A 99 TAHOE, 07 GMC SAVANNA AND AN 02 GMC SIERRA HD 2500, RECENTLY PURCHASED A 2012 YUKON XL DENALI USED WITH 22,000 MILES ON IT FROM OLD SAYBROOK GMC IN CT, CLEAN AS A WHISTLE EVERYTHING LOOKED, WENT TO WASH IT AND SPRAY UNDERNEATH IN THE FIRST WEEK AFTER I BOUGHT IT AND NOTICED UNDERNEATH THE FRAME WAX ALL PEALING AND FRAME VERY RUSTED, ALONG WITH MANY OTHER THINGS RUSTING . MY 02 WITH 170,000 MILES ON IT LOOKS BETTER THEN THIS. ALSO WENT ON LINE AND THERE ARE A LOT OF PEOPLE COMPLAINING ABOUT THE SAME THING. IM SURE MORE WOULD IF THEY LOOKED UNDER THERE CAR. THIS HAS GOT TO BE A FACTORY DEFECT AND THEY NEED TO FIX THIS PROBLEM. THE DEALER IS TELLING ME THATS NORMAL , I DISAGREE SEEING I HAVE MULTIPLE CARS/ GMCS MY WIFE HAS A 2012 PASSAT WE BOUGHT NEW AND IS SPOTLESS UNDERNEATH, AND WE HAVE DONE NOTHING TO THE CAR. *JS
DASHBOARD CRACKED FOR NO REASON AND ANOTHER CRACK APPEARED RANDOMLY WITHIN 6 MONTHS ALL WHILE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY. DASHBOARD IS CRACKING AT WILL FOR NO REASON AT ALL. MAKES A TERRIBLE RATTLING SOUND WHEN ITS HOT OUTSIDE; BUT NO NOISE WHEN IT IS COLD OUTSIDE.
5 TIRE FAILURES IN 24 MONTHS AND 26833 MILES. 2 WERE "BROKEN TREAD" FAILURES AND 3 WERE FLATS. OF THE FLATS 2 WERE IN THE SAME TIRE WITHIN 1 WEEK WITH NO OBVIOUS NAIL OR OTHER FOREIGN MATERIAL IN THE TIRE. AS A RESULT I REPLACED ALL 4 TIRES WITH ANOTHER BRAND AND HAVE HAD NO FURTHER PROBLEMS. THE FIRST "BROKEN TIRE OCCURRED AT AROUND 7700 MILES, THE SECOND BROKEN TIRE AT 10700 MILES. FLATS OCCURRED AT AROUND 7800 MILES AND 26800 MILES. *TR
WHEN FILLING THE FUEL TANK WITH FUEL THE PUMP CONSTANTLY SHUTS OFF DUE TO PRESSURE IN THE FUEL TANK NOT BEING RELEASED. TOOK THIS IN TO THE GMC DEALERSHIP AND HAD THE FUEL TANK AND VARIOUS COMPONENT REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY. THE PROBLEM DID NOT GO AWAY. IT DOES NOT MATTER WHAT GAS STATION I FILL UP AT EITHER. IT CAN TAKE UP TO 20 MINUTES TO FILL UP THE FUEL TANK DUE TO THE PUMP CONSTANTLY SHUTTING OFF DUE TO THE PRESSURE IN THE FUEL TANK NOT BEING RELEASED. GM DEALERSHIP SAYS THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO FOR ME AT THIS POINT. THIS IS A MAJOR ISSUE WITH OTHER OWNERS AS WELL AND NEEDS TO BE FIXED AND ADDRESSED THROUGH A RECALL. *TR
THE DASHBOARD HAS MAJOR CRACKING STARTING AT THE AIR BAG ON PASSENGER SIDE
NOTICED A CRACK ON DASH BY AIRBAG SYSTEM SHORTLY AFTER PURCHASE . WAS TOLD BY DEALERSHIP THAT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY ALMOST $1,000 TO REPAIR EVEN THOUGH VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED AS GM CERTIFIED. AS OF YESTERDAY, THE CRACK IS MUCH LARGER AND APPEARS TO BE SEPARATING AT CORNER OF AIRBAG ASSEMBLY AREA ON PASSENGER SIDE OF DASH. THIS HAS TO BE CONSIDERED A SAFETY CONCERN. PLEASE ADVISE. *TR
THE DASHBOARD IS CRACKED IN THREE DIFFERENT PLACES. THE FIRST CRACKED HAPPENED AT ABOUT 24,000 MILES RIGHT ABOVE THE STEERING WELL. THE SECOND CRACK IS ON THE PASSENGER SIDE LEADING UP TO THE PASSENGER AIRBAG. THAT HAPPENED AT ABOUT 50,000 MILES. THE THIRD CRACK IS IN FRONT OF THE STEERING WHEEL IT TRAVELS UPWARD TO MEET THE FIRST CRACK MAKING IT INTO A Y SHAPED. THIS HAPPENED AT ABOUT 55,000 MILES. THE CAR IS PARKED IN A GARAGE MOST OF THE TIME. THE PASSENGER SIDE SEAT BELT BUCKLE IN THE MIDDLE ROW AND THE MIDDLE SEAT BELT BUCKLE IN THE THIRD ROW BOTH FELL APART MAKING THE BUCKLES UNUSABLE.
I PURCHASED MY 2012 GMC YUKON DENALI AWD NEW. APPROXIMATELY 3 YEARS AGO THE DASHBOARD DEVELOPED A CRACK AT THE TOP LEFT CORNER OF THE FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG. THE CRACK HAS SLOWLY BEEN GETTING WORSE AND IS NOW BECOMING ELEVATED AND I NOW HAVE FEARS FOR PROPER OPERATION OF THE FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG DUE TO THIS. I RESEARCHED AND DISCOVERED THAT THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING PROBLEM WITH 2007 - 2013 GMC YUKONS, CHEVROLET TAHOES, CHEVROLET SUBURBANS, AND CADILLAC ESCALADES. I CONTACTED GENERAL MOTORS VIA EMAIL TODAY (5/30/17) AND AM AWAITING RESPONSE AND HOPEFUL RESOLUTION FROM THEM. I WILL ADVISE WHEN I HAVE GM'S RESPONSE/RESOLUTION.
LARGE CRACK IN DASH AT CORNER OF PASSENGER AIR BAG COVER APPEARED IN SEPT 2013. ANOTHER LARGE CRACK APPEARED OVER STEERING WHEEL COLUMN IN AUGUST 2014. I HAVE RESEARCHED AND FOUND THAT THIS IS AN INHERENT DEFECT IN SEVERAL GM MODELS SINCE AT LEAST 2007 AND THAT GM MAY OFFER TO PAY HALF OF THE REPLACEMENT FEE. I AM CONCERNED THAT, IF THE PASSENGER AIR BAG WERE TO DEPLOY, THE PLASTIC WOULD SHATTER AT THE CRACKED AREA AND ACT AS SHRAPNEL. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 GMC YUKON DENALI. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO OPEN THE FRONT DRIVER'S DOOR, THE HANDLE FRACTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE LOCAL DEALER (JIM MURPHY, 3000 WALDEN AVE, DEPEW, NY 17043, (716)-684-8900) AND THE HANDLE WAS REPLACED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED ON EIGHT SEPARATE OCCASIONS, AND ALL FOUR DOOR HANDLES FAILED AND WERE REPLACED AT SOME POINT SINCE 2013. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURES WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED, BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000.
STARTING IN AUG 2012 I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE ALL FOUR DOOR HANDLES AND AS OF TODAY STARTED ON THE SECOND ROUND OF REPLACING THE DEFECTIVE DOOR HANDLES, THEY CONTINUE TO POP OUT WHEN YOU OPEN THE DOOR. I HAVE BEEN TOLD THERE IS NO SOLUTION FROM GMC ON THIS PROBLEM. WHEN YOU SPEND THAT KIND OF MONEY ON A VEHICLE THE DOOR HANDLES SHOULD NOT FAIL ALL OF THE TIME. WHEN THE VEHICLE IS OUT OF WARRANTY I WILL BE OUT BIG BUCKS EVERY TIME THIS HAPPENS AND THAT IS WRONG. I HAVE THE VEHICLE ONE YEAR AND THIS IS THE FIFTH SET OF DOOR HANDLES I AM HAVING REPLACED. *TR
