HORN INDICATOR FAILED. MGM
SEAT WOULD NOT LOCK, KEPT SLIDING. *YC
THERE IS A WHINING NOISE COMING FROM THE TRANSMISSION. ON A HOT DAY, AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS,WHEN THE TRANS. FLUID GETS HOT AND THINS OUT THE NOISE BECOMES INCREASINGLY LOUDER. I HAVE CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP AND HONDA CUSTOMER RELATIONS. THEY CLAIM IT IS A HARMLESS NOISE,DUE TO TRANSMISSION DESIGN. THEY OFFERED TO INSTALL A SOUND DAMPENING KIT WHICH I CONSIDER A PATCH AND NOT A REPAIR. I DECLINED TO HAVE THIS DONE. HONDA ASSURED ME THAT IT DOES NOT AFFECT RELIABILITY. HOWEVER, THE WHINING IS SLOWLY GETTING NOISIER. LOOKING AT YOUR DATABASE, I NOTICED A SIMILAR COMPLAINT. ODI ID 700587. HONDA DEALERSHIP SAID THIS IS COMMON ON THE V-6 MODELS AND NO PERMANENT REPAIR BULLETINS HAVE BEEN ISSUED FROM HONDA. THIS WHINING NOISE IS NOT NORMAL AND SHOULD BE ADDRESSED BY HONDA, AND A PERMANENT REPAIR SHOULD BE INITIATED.
WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE, THE POWER STEERING FLUID LEAKED OUT. THIS CAUSED THE RACK & PINION TO BE DAMAGED & HAD TO BE REPLACED.
REAR ENGINE MOTOR MOUNT FAILED. YH
POWER WINDOW OPENER FAILED. YH
I HAVE ASKED THE DEALER TO REPAIR A PROBLEM WITH A STICKY ACCELORATOR ON THREE OCCASIONS WITH NO SUCCESS. THEY ADMIT IT IS A PROBLEM WITH THIS MODEL CAR BUT OFFER NO REMEDY. IT IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND HAS ALMOST RESULTED IN TWO ACCIDENTS! PLEASE DEMAND THAT HONDA REMEDY THIS SERIOUS DEFECT IMMEDIATELY. MY DEALER'S INCOMPETENT SERVICE MANAGER CLAIMS HE CANNOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM IN MY CAR. HOWEVER, ONE OF HIS TECHNICIANS DID. I'VE GIVEN UP TRYING TO HAVE THEM REPAIR THE CAR AND HOPE YOU CAN CONVINCE THE MANUFACTURER TO RECALL THIS CAR. SOMEONE, SOMEWHERE WILL BE KILLED IF THIS IS NOT REPAIRED. THANK YOU. DRIVER'S SIDE FLOOR MAT DOES NOT STAY IN PLACE CAUSING MAT TO MOVE FORWARD TOWARD'S THE GAS PEDAL WHICH COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. *YC
ALL REAR SEAT BELTS RATCHET TIGHT IF YOU MOVE JUST A LITTLE BIT AND PIN YOU TO THE BACK SEAT, CHOKING THE PASSENGER. IT IS VERY UNCOMFORTABLE AND THE BELT HAS TO BE REMOVED AND THEN REBUCKLED AND MY PASSENGERS FEEL SO CONSTRICTED THAT THEY DO NOT FEEL COMFORTABLE WEARING THE SEAT BELTS AT ALL!!!! NOT SAFE!!!

WHEN TRYING TO STOP, THE BRAKE PEDAL WILL NOT PUSH DOWN, HAVE TO PUSH DOWN WITH BOTH FEET BEFORE THE VEHICLE WILL STOP. *AK
DUE TO THE DESIGN OF DASH BOARD LIGHTS, IT IS HARD TO READ ODOMETER, DIGITAL CLOCK, AND RADIO INDICATOR.
SUNVISOR MALFUNCTIONED. *YC
HEATER/AIR CONITIONER FAILED.
GAS GAUGE SENSOR FAILED. *YC
WHENEVER SOMEONE TRIES TO GET INTO THE SEAT BELT THE BELT GETS STUCK, AND THEY CAN'T USE THE SEAT BELT. CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER, AND THEY FIXED THE PROBLEM. BUT WHENEVER SOMEONE GETS INTO THE PASSENGER'S SEAT THE PROBLEM OCCURS. *AK
ENGINE WILL CUT OUT AT IRREGULAR TIMES AND APPROACHING STOP SIGNS IT CUTS OUT. THE DEALER WAS CONTACTED, AND STATES THAT THE MANUFACTURER HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. ALSO THE COMPUTER CONTROLS THE ENGINE. *AK
FUEL INJECTION COMPUTER CONTROL UNIT MISPROGRAMMED. MJS
CATALYTIC CONVERTER AND THE FUEL INJECTOR REPLACED ON 1998 HONDA ACCORD. *BF ALTHOUGH EACH COMPONENT WAS REPLACED THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT REMAINED ON. THE TECHNICIAN INDICATED THAT THE PROBLEM WAS PROBABLY WITH A SENSOR. *NM
1998 HONDA ACCORD WHEELS COVERS MAKE IT VERY DIFFICULT TO ACCESS THE TIRE VALVE STEMS.*MR THE CONSUMER ALSO EXPLAINED THAT IT IS DIFFICLT TO FIT THE AIR HOSE OVER THE VALVE STEM. *NM
1998 HONDA ACCORD HAS INSUFFICIENT EGR FLOW INDICATOR LIGHT CODE P0401. *TS THE CONSUMER CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER TO INFORM THEM THAT A RECALL NOTICE WAS NEVER RECEIVED. THE CONSUMER IS NOT SATISFIED WITH HOW THE MANUFACTURER IS HANDLING THIS PROBLEM MAINLY BECAUSE THEY EXPECT THE CONSUMER TO PAY FOR THE DESIGN DEFICIENCY MODIFICATION (SERVICE BULLETIN #99-085). *NM
THE CONSUMER'S 1998 HONDA ACCORD V-6 DEVELOPED TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS. *CC THE CONSUMER FOUND OUT THAT THE 1999 AND 2000 MODELS WERE BEING REPAIRED UNDER A SILENT RECALL. THE CONSUMER WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHY HER VEHICLE IS NOT BEING COVERED BY HONDA. *NM
1998 HONDA ACCORD IGNITION SWITCH RECALL 02V120000. *NJ THE CONSUMER STATED HE HAD TO RETURN TO THE DEALER FOR A SECOND TIME BECAUSE THE IGNITION SWITCH FAILED AGAIN. THE CONSUMER STATED IT SEEMED THAT THE PROBLEM WITH THE IGNITION SWITCH WAS NOT PERMANENTLY RESOLVED. *JB
STEERING WHEEL DESIGN IS DEFECTIVE, HORN LOCATION, TO ACTIVATE HORN DRIVER HAS TO REMOVE HAND FROM WHEEL.

FAULTY COMPUTER CAUSES VEHICLE TO STALL WHEN THE WEATHER IS COLD.
CONSUMER HAS RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE. DEALER HAS NOT RECEIVED THE PARTS. VEHICKLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. (98V-018). *AK

WHILE IN AN ACCIDENT THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. DEALER HAS BEEN CONTACTED. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER DETAILS. *AK

DASHBOARD IS LIGHT TAN IN COLOR, WHEN IN SUNLIGHT REFLECTS ON THE DASH IT INTERFERS WITH VISION.
SUDDEN ACCELERATION RESULTING IN VEHICLE COLLISION, NO DEPLOYMENT OF AIR BAG DURING COLLISION.
WINDSHIELD DESIGN ALLOWS FOR HAZE TO REFLECT CAUSING POOR VISIBILITY.
CONSUMER CAN NOT VISIBLY SEE HIGH BEAM INDICATOR LIGHT DURING THE DAYTIME.
SOMETIMES, AFTER DRIVING VEHICLE A SHORT DISTANCE AND COMING TO COMPLETE STOP, PRESSING ON THE GAS, VEHICLE STALLS THEN COMPLETELY DIES OUT.
WHILE SEATING IN THE VEHICLE ON A FLAT INCLINE WITH THE IGNITION OFF, GEAR INDICATOR LOCKED IN THE PARKED POSITION, THE VEHICLE ROLLED FORWARD, KNOCKED OVER A FENCE, WENT INTO A GARDEN AND ALMOST HIT AN APARTMENT BUILDING BEFORE CONSUMER WAS ABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE BY APPLYING THE BRAKES. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN REPAIRED. OWNER READ ABOUT RECALL # 98V01800, TRANSMISSION PARKING PAWL WHEN CONTACTING A DEALER, DEALER STATED THAT HER VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. *AK
SEAT BELT DESIGN ALLOWS FOR BELT TO WRAP AROUND THE RELEASE LEVER AND GET STUCK.
FUEL GAUGE INDICATES EMPTY TANK WITH WARNING LIGHT ON WITH 5 GALLONS REMAINING IN TANK.
VEHICLE'S TRANSMISSION BUCKS OR SKIPS AT 55 TO 60MPH UNDER LIGHT LOAD. DEALER DETERMINED THAT IT WAS THE LOCK-UP CONVERTER AND STATED THAT IT'S NORMAL.
WHILE CRUISE CONTROL IS USED AT SPEEDS OF 65 MPH TRANSMISSION SHIFTS DOWN WITHOUT WARNING. CAUSE UNKNOWN. *AK
WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT MALFUNCTIONED, LIGHT COMES ON FOR NO REASON. IN PREVIOUS VEHICLE IN WHICH GAUGE WAS RESET PROBLEM RETURNED. CAUSE UNKNOWN. *AK
SEAT BELTS GETS TRAPPED UNDERNEATH SEAT BACK ELECTRIC SWITCH. QCAW
GAS/BRAKE PEDAL DEPRESSED SIMULTANEOUSLY DUE TO BEING TOO CLOSE TOGETHER. QCAW
WHEN VEHICLE IS ACCELERATED FROM STOP, IT PULLS TO THE LEFT APPROX. 10-12 INCHES. DEALER CLAIMS IT IS JUST THE TORQUE AND NOTHING IS WRONG.
EVER SINCE I BOUGHT THIS CAR (ABOUT 3 MONTH NOW) THE CLUTCH MAKES A SQUEEKY NOISE WHENEVER ITS APPLIED. ID HAVE CONTACTED THE DEALER THAT I BOUGHT THE CAR FROM, AND ALSO CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER (HONDA CONSUMER AFFAIR) AND NONE OF THE TELL ME HOW LONG IT TAKES FOR THIS PROBLEM TO BE CORRECTED. THE BOTH SAY THAT ITS UNDER INVESTIGATION, I REALLY DON'T KNOW IF IT'S SAFE TO DRIVE THIS CAR BECAUSE OF THE SQUEEK IN THE CLUTCH WHICH THE HONDA COMPANY SAYS IS RELATED TO CLUTCH MASTER CYLINDER.
MASTER CYLINDER MALFUNCTIONED.
