TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 HONDA ACCORD. WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THE VEHICLE HESITATED WHILE SHIFTING FROM SECOND TO THIRD GEAR. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ENGINE WOULD REV ROUGHLY WHEN THE TRANSMISSION WAS SHIFTING GEARS. HE STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION LOCKED UP WHILE DRIVING 35-40 MPH. THE DEALER STATED THAT THEY WILL REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION AND THE BALL BEARINGS. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 64,000. UPDATED 09/18/07 *TR

RECALL NOTICE ON 2003 HONDA ACCORD FOR WINDOW WIPER MOTOR. CONSUMER WANTS TO BE REIMBURSED FOR THE REPAIR WORK. *NJ
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 HONDA ACCORD. IN JULY OF 2004, THE GEARS SHIFTED FROM FIRST AND SECOND GEAR, THE FLUID WAS VERY DIRTY, AND THE TRANSMISSION WAS WHINING. THE TRANSMISSION FLUID WAS CHANGED. IN SEPTEMBER OF 2004, THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR AN OIL CHANGE AND, WITHOUT THE CONTACT'S KNOWLEDGE, THE TRANSMISSION WAS INSPECTED. CURRENTLY, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ILLUMINATING AND THE CODES INDICATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION IS MALFUNCTIONING. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD ALREADY BEEN INSPECTED IN REGARDS TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 04V176000 (POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION). THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 130,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 110,000.
TRANSMISSION FAILURE ON MY USED 2003 HONDA ACCORD EX-L V6. I OWNED THE CAR FOR ABOUT 2 MONTHS AND NOTICED THAT THE CAR WOULD NOT SHIFT GEARS CORRECTLY. I HAD THE FLUIDS CHANGED WHEN THE SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE NOTICED BAD COLOR, THE PROBLEM RECURRED AND EVENTUALLY THE UNIT FAILED. THERE WAS A RECALL THAT HAD BEEN REDEEMED IN 2004 ACCORDING TO HONDA MOTORS CUSTOMER SERVICE, SO NOW THAT THE SAME PROBLEM IS RECURRING HONDA WILL NOT COVER THE PROBLEM. THE TRANSMISSION FACILITIES I HAVE CALLED FOR SERVICES HAVE IDENTIFIED THIS IS A COMMON FAILURE AND ONE SHOP HAD TWO VEHICLES IN FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. IT SEEMS OBVIOUS THAT THE ISSUE WAS NOT PROPERLY RESOLVED AS THE CAR HAS LESS THAN 50K MILES AND NEEDS A NEW TRANSMISSION. *TR
ON BACKING INTO A SPOT IN A PRIVATE PARKING LOT I STRUCK A SHORT STEEL POST. I THEN MOVED FORWARD, THE BACKED AGAIN TO PARK, HOWEVER, THE CAR SHOT BACK AND KEPT RAMMING THE POST. I SHIFTED INTO D WITH FOOT ON THE BRAKE THINKING I HAD A PROBLEM ONLY IN R, BUT THE CAR SHOT FORWARD AND, IN 5 SECONDS, ENTERED THE ROADWAY, RAMMED A TAXI, CROSSED THE ROAD, ENTERED A SIDEWALK AREA, TOOK OUT 2 LAMPPOSTS AND WAS FINALLY STOPPED BY HITTING A CAR PARKED AT THE CURB. IN THE ENTIRE EPISODE, MY FOOT NEVER LEFT THE BRAKE AS SKID MARKS ATTESTED. UNFORTUNATELY, I DID NOT HAVE THE PRESENCE OF MIND TO TURN THE KEY OFF. THE IMPRESSION GIVEN WAS THE CAR WAS ATTEMPTING TO REACH A CRUISE CONTROL SPEED WHICH WAS NORMALLY SET FOR APPROXIMATELY 110KPH (68MPH). *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 HONDA ACCORD. WHILE DRIVING 30 MILES PER HOUR THE TRANSMISSION SLIPPED INTO SECOND GEAR AND WOULD NOT COME OUT OF SECOND GEAR. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER TO BE REPAIRED. THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED THAT THE PROBLEM WAS THE THROTTLE BODY. THE CONTACT WAS THEN ADVISED THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS SLIPPING. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 124,000. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.
THE LCD ON THE CONSOLE WHICH CONTROLS THE RADIO AND AIR TEMPERATURE, JUST BLEW OUT, THIS AFTERNOON. WE CANNOT SEE ANYTHING ON THERE. I JUST RESEARCHED THE PROBLEM ONLINE AND SEE THAT THIS IS A COMMON RECURRING PROBLEM. THE FIX IS TO REPLACE THE WHOLE RADIO SYSTEM WHICH COSTS AROUND $ 500 PLUS. I DO BELIEVE THIS IS HONDA'S RESPONSIBILITY. I DO NOT EXPECT SOMETHING LIKE THE LCD SCREEN TO BLOW OUT IN JUST A LITTLE AFTER 45000 MILES. AND I DID NOT DRIVE MY CAR OFTEN. THIS IS DEFINITELY A MANUFACTURER'S DEFECT AND PROBLEM.*AK
I HAD AN ACCIDENT, THE PASSENGER SIDE'S AIRBAG OF THE 2003 HONDA, ACCORD DEPLOYED, THE DRIVER'S AIRBAG DID NOT.*AK
AFTER CAR IS STARTED AND PUT INTO DRIVE, THERE IS A GRINDING AND CLUNKING NOISE SHIFTING FROM FIRST TO SECOND GEAR AND WILL REPEAT EACH TIME THE CAR IS STARTED UP. METRO HONDA OF JERSEY CITY, NJ HAS FAILED/NEGLECTED TO PROVIDE A FULL DIAGNOSIS OF MY PROBLEM AFTER 3 HOURS OF WAITING AND 5 DIFFERENT PEOPLE TEST-DRIVING MY CAR AFTER I SPECIFICALLY REQUESTED TO BE IN THE VEHICLE DURING THESE TEST DRIVES TO PIN POINT THE PROBLEM! VEHICLE IS ALSO EXPERIENCING A LOSS OF POWER AS WELL MORE AND MORE RATHER THAN OCCASIONAL. I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO DEAL WITH THIS AS ME AND EVERYONE ELSE HAVE OBLIGATIONS TO ATTEND TO, ESPECIALLY WHEN I DEPEND ON MY VEHICLE TO GET AROUND. *JB
I OWN A 2003 HONDA ACCORD SINCE THE MOMENT I GOT IT I HAD PROBLEMS. THERE WAS A RECALLS ON PIPES I FIXED TOOK IT TO DEALER THEY FIXED IT NOW THE TRANSMISSION WENT BAD AND THIS APPEARED IN THE COMPUTER THERE WA S A MANUFACTURESR'S WARRANTY,THEY DIDN'T WANT TO COVER IT,AND WAS WONDERING IF THAT FAILIURE OF MY TRANSMISSION HAS TO DO SOMETHING WITH THAT PIPE RECALL.OR IF A CAR WITH 45180 MILES SHOULD FAIL ITS TRNASMISSION THEY TOLD ME IS NOT MY FAULT SO IS THE MANUFACTURER. *AK
THE AIR CONDITIONING UNIT ON MY 2003 HONDA ACCORD SUDDENLY STOPPED BLOWING COOL AIR. I ASSUMED IT WAS IN NEED OF COOLANT SINCE I JUST RECENTLY REACHED THE 60,000 MILES MARK. BUT WHEN I WENT TO HAVE THE AC SERVICED, I WAS TOLD THE COMPRESSOR HAD GONE BAD AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. I KNOW THE DEPENDABILITY OF HONDAS. SO, I WAS BAFFLED THAT THE COMPRESSOR WOULD "GO OUT" IN JUST FOUR YEARS OF OWNERSHIP. *TR
MICHELIN XGT-H4 DEFECT AFTER 25,000 MILES. TIRE DEVELOPED ROAD NOISE AND HAD IRREGULAR CHOPPY TREAD ON INSIDE THIRD OF TIRE. TIRE USED FOR AUTO, INSTALLED BY DEALER ON LEFT REAR OF PASSENGER CAR. *AK
FIRST, MY CD PLAYER STOPS WORKING OUT OF NOWHERE, WHICH I LATER COME TO FIND OUT THAT THEY HAD INSTALLED AN INTERNAL DEFECTIVE CD PLAYER. A COUPLE OF WEEKS AFTER THE CD PLAYER BROKE, MY DRIVE SIDE DOOR WOULD NOT LOCK WITH THE KEYLESS ENTRY OR POWER LOCKS. THEN, A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO MY DRIVER SIDE HEADLIGHT WENT OUT. I GOT SOMEONE TO CHANGE BOTH SO THAT ONE WOULDN'T BE BRIGHT THAN THE OTHER, BUT AFTER THEY WERE BOTH I CHANGED, THE DRIVE SIDE HEADLIGHT STILL REFUSED TO WORK.
2ND GEAR TRANSMISSION FAILURE ON MY 2003 HONDA ACCORD EX V6 AND HONDA REFUSES TO FIX PROBLEM EVEN AFTER A RECALL WAS ISSUED ON THIS YEAR/MODEL VEHICLE IN 2004. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 HONDA ACCORD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE WAS UNABLE TO SHIFT THE GEAR. HE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THE SAFETY HARNESS CAUSED THE FAILURE AND THEY MADE THE REPAIR. APPROXIMATELY TWO MONTHS LATER, WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE VEHICLE JERKED WHEN THE GEARS SHIFTED. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION FAILED. THERE IS A RECALL FOR THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION (NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID #04V176000). THE DEALER OFFERED TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION, BUT THE CONTACT WOULD HAVE TO PAY THE LABOR COSTS. HE FELT THAT HE SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY FOR LABOR DUE TO THE RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 58,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 63,000.
HAVE HAD THROTTLE BODY REPLACED UNDER MANUFACTURERS WARRANTY AT APPROX. 15,000 MILES. CAR LOSES POWER WHILE DRIVING AND THIS COULD BE EXTREMELY DANGEROUS IF ON HIGH WAY. SEVERAL TIMES THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME WHERE A/C SYSTEM SHUTS DOWN AND BLOWS HOT AND VEHICLE CUTS POWER AND I NEARLY WAS REAR -ENDED AS I HAD TO PULL OVER AT SPEED ON FREEWAY. HONDA DOES NOT ACCEPT PROBLEM BUT BY THREATENING LEGAL ACTION WAS ABLE TO HAVE THEM "FIX' THE SYSTEM SO IT WON'T RECUR. AM HOWEVER VERY DIS-SATISFIED WITH HONDA'S CLEAR DENIAL OF THIS ISSUE WHICH ONE DAY WILL CAUSE MULTIPLE DEATHS IF NO RECALL IS ISSUED AS THEY DON'T ACKNOWLEDGE ISSUE AND FIND A SOLUTION. *TR
I WAS SMELLING THE ROTTEN EGG SMELL THAT MANY OTHER CLAIMED TO SMELL. I HAD THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER CHANGED BUT THE SMELL COMES BACK FROM TIME TO TIME. THE SEAT SLIDE FORWARD AND THEN BACKWARD WHEN APPLYING BRAKE.
(EVENTS LEADING UP TO THE FAILURE ON 5/15, 2007 I WAS DRIVING THE HONDA ACCORD 2003 AND APPROACHING A TRAFFIC LIGHT, APPLIED THE BRAKE AND UNEXPECTEDLY IT LOCKED. I WASN'T SURE WHERE THE LOCK CAME FROM. THEN I DROVE ANOTHER FEW BLOCKS TOWARDS MY HOUSE BUT I STILL GOT SOME SMALL LOCKUP, AND IT WAS AS SERIOUS AS THE FIRST ONE.*AK I WENT TO WORK THE NEXT DAY , IT WAS OK FOR ABOUT 20 MINUTES BEFORE I EXITED THE HIGHWAY, AT THAT TIME I EXPECTED ANOTHER LOCKUP AND IT WAS MORE SERIOUS THAN THE LAST TIME. IT COULD ALSO BE THE SPEED IS FASTER. WHEN I GOT TO THE OFFICE I CALLED MY MACHENIC, WHICH IS THE HONDA DEALERSHIP, WHERE I HAVE MAINTENANCE MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR WORK DONE. I JUST HAD A 60 000 SERVICE WITH THEM A WEEK AGO. WHEN I DROVE TO THE DEALERSHIP I EXPERIENCED ANOTHER LOCKUP AND THIS TIME IT WAS VERY SERIOUS , IT WAS ON THE HIGHWAY AND THE CAR BEHIND ME ALMOST HIT ME. *AK WHEN I ARRIVED THE SHOP AND THE TECHNICIAN EXAMINATE THE CAR AND SAID THAT THE TRANSMISSION IS NO GOOD. 2. FAILURE AND ITS CONSEQUENCES - I WAS TOLD THAT I NEED A NEW TRANSMISSION. NOTE: MY CAR WAS ON THE RECALL LIST FOR ON THE TRANSMISSION FOR THE EXACT PROBLEM.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 HONDA ACCORD. WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL BECAME STUCK WHILE TURNING INTO THE DRIVEWAY. THE FAILURE CAUSED THE CONTACT TO CRASH INTO HER NEIGHBOR'S HOUSE. SHE SUSTAINED SEVERE BLADDER DAMAGE AND HER GRANDSON, SEATED IN THE REAR SEAT, SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE HEAD, NOSE, MOUTH, AND EYES. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHO DETERMINED THAT THE CAUSE OF FAILURE WAS DUE TO THREE FRACTURED STRUTS. HER NEIGHBOR'S HOME AND HER VEHICLE ENDURED PROPERTY DAMAGE. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. SHE HAS NOT NOTIFIED THE DEALER OR THE MANUFACTURER. A VALID VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 41,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 HONDA ACCORD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHENEVER THE VEHICLE WAS BEING DRIVEN AT ANY RATE OF SPEED, THE TRANSMISSION WOULD SLIP WHEN SHIFTING GEARS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 100,000 AND THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000.

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 HONDA ACCORD. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO TURN THE VEHICLE AT 50 MPH, IT WAS STRUCK BY ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES TO HER BACK, FOREHEAD, KNEES, AND CHEST DUE TO BEING THROWN INTO THE STEERING WHEEL FROM IMPACT. THE DRIVER'S SIDE AIR BAG FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE DRIVER'S SIDE SEAT BELT CAME OUT OF THE BUCKLE LATCH AND WAS THROWN TO THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. SIX MONTHS LATER, THE CONTACT WAS INVOLVED IN ANOTHER INCIDENT IN WHICH THE DRIVER'S SIDE AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY AGAIN. THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG DEPLOYED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED HEAD INJURIES AND WAS TRANSPORTED TO THE HOSPITAL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND REPAIRED. A DIAGNOSTIC TEST WAS PERFORMED, WHICH INDICATED THAT THE AIR BAGS WOULD NOW OPERATE CORRECTLY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 37,500 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 36,694.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 HONDA ACCORD. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE BEGAN ABNORMALLY JERKING FORWARD. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE TECHNICIAN REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION UNDER WARRANTY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THREE YEARS AFTER THE TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED, HE BEGAN EXPERIENCING THE EXACT SAME FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE TRANSMISSION WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 71,000.
2003 HONDA ACCORD V6 WITH TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS CUSTOMER STATES THAT IN NOV 04 THEY RECEIVED A RECALL LETTER TOOK IT IN AND HAD THE WORK DONE THEN APRIL 07 THE TRANSMISSION LOCKED UP AND WANTS HONDA TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS**CC THE CONSUMER STATED THE PROBLEM HE EXPERIENCED, IS THE SAME AS THE RECALL, THAT HE THOUGHT WAS REPAIRED PREVIOUSLY. *JB
TL*- THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 HONDA ACCORD WITH A FAILURE MILEAGE OF 83,000. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN SHE TURNED ON THE HEADLIGHTS THE INSTRUMENT PANEL BECAME TOO DIM TO READ. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER, AND WAS TOLD THAT THE AUDIO UNIT HAD TO BE REPLACED. THE DEALER REPLACED THE UNIT FREE OF CHARGE, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. DRIVE WINDOW AND CRUISE CONTROL STOPPED WORKING. HONDAS ARE SUPPOSED TO BE THE BEST CARS, IN MY OPINION I THINK THEY ARE THE WORST. I WOULDN'T NEVER OWN ANOTHER ONE. EVERYTHING BRAKES IN HONDAS. *TR
BRAKES FAIL IN REVERSE ABOVE 6000 FT WHEN CAR IS COLD. DEALER SAID THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE BY HONDA AND SAY IT CANNOT BE REPAIRED WITHOUT UPDATING CAR'S SOFTWARE WHICH HONDA REFUSES TO DO. DEALER HAS HAD MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS ABOUT BRAKE FAILURE AT ALTITUDE WHEN COLD. HONDA STATES THAT THE CAR IS WORKING AS DESIGNED REGARDLESS OF THE FACT THAT THE BRAKES COMPLETELY FAIL. FAILS EVERY DAY SINCE WE HAVE MOVED. CAR NARROWLY MISSED PEDESTRIAN DUE TO BRAKE FAILURE. *JB
WHILE DRIVING ON I-95, I HIT SOMETHING IN THE ROAD CAUSING THE SIDE CURTAIN AIRBAGS TO DEPLOY. BY THE WAY I TRIED TO REPORT THIS TO YOUR HOT LINE TWICE BY LEAVING MESSAGES; NO ONE EVER CALLED BACK. *JB
CONDENSOR ON MY HONDA ACCORD BROKE BECAUSE OF A ROCK ON THE STREET HITTING IT AND BREAKING IT. THIS WAS A DESIGN FLAW, AND I AM TOLD IT WAS NOT COVERED BY MY WARRANTY, EVEN THOUGH I PAID AN EXTRA $1200 FOR AN EXTENDED WARRANTY. APPARENTLY ,THIS WAS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE HONDA AS I FOUND OUT WHILE RESEARCHING ON THE INTERNET. THIS SHOULD BE RECTIFIED BY HONDA - I HAVE NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM WITH ANY OTHER VEHICLE. *AK
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 HONDA ACCORD. AT 35 MPH, THE ENGINE INCREASED IN RPMS. THE TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT SHIFT GEARS, AND THE INTERIOR LIGHTS STARTED TO ILLUMINATE. THE DEALER RECOMMENDED THE TRANSMISSION BE REPLACED. THE DEALER STATED THIS VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN RECALL # 04V176000. THE CONTACT FELT THAT THE VEHICLE QUALIFIED FOR THE RECALL. MY ACCORD HAS 55K MILES. RECENTLY, I WAS COMING TO A STOP LIGHT WHEN MY CAR BEGAN TO SHUDDER. AFTER THIS HAPPENING 3 TIMES WITHIN 15 MINUTES, IT STALLED. NOW, WHENEVER THE VEHICLE IS WARM, IN DRIVE OR REVERSE, AND IS IDLING, IT WILL STALL. I'VE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY TELL ME THAT THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE TRANSMISSION DEALING WITH THE TORQUE CONVERTER. THIS IS 2 WEEKS AFTER I TOOK IT IN FOR A RECALL ON ...THE TRANSMISSION PART. NO ONE HAS BEEN HURT IN THIS STALLING. HONDA IS OFFERING TO GET ME A RE-MANUFACTURED TRANSMISSION FOR $600. I HAVE OWNED 4 HONDA'S BEFORE THIS, 3 OF WHICH HAD MORE MILES, AND THERE HAVE BEEN NO ENGINE/TRANNY RELATED ISSUES. 19K MILES OUT OF WARRANTY MY TRANSMISSION DIES... *JB
MY ACCORD HAS 55K MILES. RECENTLY, I WAS COMING TO A STOP LIGHT WHEN MY CAR BEGAN TO SHUDDER. AFTER THIS HAPPENING 3 TIMES WITHIN 15 MINUTES, IT STALLED. NOW, WHENEVER THE VEHICLE IS WARM, IN DRIVE OR REVERSE, AND IS IDLING, IT WILL STALL. I'VE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY TELL ME THAT THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE TRANSMISSION DEALING WITH THE TORQUE CONVERTER. THIS IS 2 WEEKS AFTER I TOOK IT IN FOR A RECALL ON ...A TRANSMISSION PART. NO ONE HAS BEEN HURT IN THIS STALLING. HONDA IS OFFERING TO GET ME A RE-MANUFACTURED TRANSMISSION FOR $600. I HAVE OWNED 4 HONDA'S BEFORE THIS, 3 OF WHICH HAD MORE MILES, AND THERE HAVE BEEN NO ENGINE/TRANNY RELATED ISSUES. 19K MILES OUT OF WARRANTY MY TRANSMISSION DIES... *JB
THIS COMPLAINT APPLIES TO ALMOST ALL CURRENTLY SOLD VEHICLES FROM ALL MANUFACTURERS. THE POLYCARBONITE LENSES ON VEHICLE HEADLIGHTS DETERIORATE QUICKLY AND GREATLY REDUCE THE EFFECTIVENESS OF THE HEADLIGHTS. THIS COST OF REPLACING THESE DEFECTIVE LENSES IS PROHIBITIVE FOR MOST OWNERS AND THEY SIMPLY DRIVE WITH THE DEFECTIVE AND UNSAFE HEADLIGHTS. MANUFACTURERS SHOULD BE REQUIRED TO REPLACE THESE DEGRADED AND UNSAFE LENSES WITH GLASS OR OTHER NON-HAZING MATERIAL AT NO CHARGE. POLISHING SCHEMES RARELY ARE EFFECTIVE AND DO NOT LAST LONG ANYWAY. ULTRAVIOLET RADIATION ALONG WITH NORMAL WEATHERING IS THE SUSPECTED CAUSE OF THIS DETERIORATION OF THE POORLY DESIGNED AND MANUFACTURED LENSES.

THE TRANSMISSION ON MY 2003 HONDA ACCORD FAILED AT 66513 MILES. I'VE REPLACED IT AND THE REPLACEMENT TRANSMISSION IN NOW FAILING AT 118000 ,MILES. *TR
MY TRANSMISSION STARTED SLIPPING BETWEEN 2ND AND 3RD GEAR SO I LOOKED IT UP ON THE INTERNET AND THERE WAS A RECALL ON IT. I BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THAT THE RECALL HAD BEEN FIXED BY PUTTING AN OIL COOLER ON THE TRANSMISSION IN OCTOBER OF 2004 AND THAT I WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR FIXING MY TRANSMISSION. I TOLD THEM THAT IT DOESN'T MEAN THAT IT WAS NOT DONE BEFORE AND THAT I WAS NOT PAYING FOR IT BECAUSE MY CAR IS DOING EXACTLY TO THE WORD WHAT THE RECALL SAID IT WOULD DO. IT IS GETTING WORSE AND I AM AFRAID THAT IT MIGHT LOCK UP ON ME LIKE THE RECALL SAID THAT IT WOULD. I THINK THAT THEY SHOULD BE LIABLE TO FIX THIS PROBLEM AS IT WAS NOT FIXED RIGHT THE FIRST TIME. *TR

SHE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND THEY REPLACED THE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR AND BLADES AT THE COST OF $200. THE CONTACT RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 08V169000 (VISIBILITY:WINDSHIELD WIPER/WASHER:MOTOR). SHE SUBMITTED SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS TO THE MANUFACTURER IN REFERENCE TO REIMBURSEMENT, BUT SHE WAS DENIED FOR UNKNOWN REASONS. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE UNKNOWN.
THE BACKLIGHTING ON THE CENTER CONSOLE WENT OUT. NO FUSES WERE BLOWN. RADIO AND A/C ARE OPERATION BUT YOU CANNOT SEE THE STATUS. YOU CANNOT CONTROL THE HEAT OR THE DEFROSTER. WITHOUT KNOWING THE STATUS OF THIS EQUIPMENT, AN ACCIDENT IS ALMOST ASSURED..FOGGED FRONT WINDOW. *NM
WHEN ANTI-LOCK BRAKE IS ACTIVATED, THE BRAKE IS SO WEAK AS NONE!!! VERY DANGEROUS WHEN YOU NEED BRAKE MOST AND THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKE HAS NO STOPPING POWER! IT ALWAYS HAPPENS WHEN THE ROAD IS SLIPPERY. *JB

ON 01/01/07, I WAS DRIVING WITH MY MOTHER ON I-95 (NORTHBOUND) (LEFT MOST LANE) AROUND 3 PM FROM EAST GREENWICH, RI TO PROVIDENCE, RI. BETWEEN EXITS 13 AND 15, A CAR, POSSIBLY AN SUV, TRIED TO CHANGE LANES FROM THE MIDDLE LANE TO THE LEFT LANE AND HIT US IN THE REAR END, CAUSING US TO COLLIDE INTO THE DIVIDING WALL. AFTER WHICH, THE CAR SPUN AND WAS HIT BY ANOTHER ONCOMING CAR, CAUSING ANOTHER SPIN AND ANOTHER COLLISION. IN SHORT, THE CAR WAS HIT ON ALL FOUR SIDES. HOWEVER, NONE OF THE AIRBAGS IN THE CAR DEPLOYED. MY MOTHER GOT BRUISED ON HER RIGHT SIDE, AND I GOT BRUISES ON MY LEFT SIDE AS WELL AS CUTS ON MY FACE. IN ADDITION, I ALSO GOT A CONCUSSION AND HAD TO BE TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL AND KEPT UNDER OBSERVATION. THE CAR WAS TOWED AWAY, AND THE INSURANCE COMPANY IS LOOKING INTO THE ACCIDENT. *JB
THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN OCCURRING INTERMITTENTLY FOR 2.5 YEARS, HAS NEVER MANIFESTED ITSELF WHILE AT THE DEALER. IT ALL STARTED WITH THE YELLOW TRACTION CONTROL TRIANGLE LIGHTING UP, RIGHT AFTER WE BOUGHT THE CAR. NO SYMPTOMS, JUST SOLID NON-BLINKING LIGHT ON DASH. DEALER HAD NO SOLUTION. THE PROBLEM GOT WORSE WHEN MY WIFE NOTICED THAT THE CAR'S TRANSMISSION SEEMED TO "BOG DOWN". I NEVER EXPERIENCED IT, JUST MY WIFE. DEALER SAID THIS WAS JUST THE TRACTION CONTROL KICKING IN, NO SOLUTION. LAST JULY, 4 HOURS FROM HOME, THE CAR SUDDENLY BOGGED DOWN ON ME, I IMMEDIATELY LOOKED DOWN AT THE DASH... THE CAR WAS TRAVELING 70 MPH, THE SPEEDOMETER WAS DEAD, THE ENGINE WAS DEAD, I HAPPENED TO BE AT AN EXIT RAMP, SO I COASTED OFF THE INTERSTATE TO A STOP. I CALLED THE DEALER IN THE NEAREST CITY, AND THEY SAID TO RESTART THE CAR, I DID, AND IT RAN. I TOOK THE CAR TO AUTO ZONE WHERE THEY SAID THE CODE WAS "SPEED CONTROL SENSOR/SHORT". DEALER CHECKED IT, AND SAID THERE WAS NO PROBLEM WITH SENSOR. THEY BLAMED IT ON HAVING TOO MUCH TRANSMISSION FLUID IN THE TRANSMISSION. A FEW TIMES SINCE JULY, THE CAR HAS MYSTERIOUSLY GONE DEAD IN TRAFFIC, NOTABLY WHILE IN THE TURN LANE. 2 WEEKS AGO, THE RED BRAKE LIGHT STARTED COMING ON. AN ISOLATED AND SEPARATE ISSUE I THINK. LAST WEEK, I DROVE 1 HOUR TO THE AIRPORT. THE TRACTION CONTROL AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, AND EVERY TIME I USED THE TURN INDICATOR, THE CAR DIED. IT RESTARTED ITSELF AS SOON AS THE TURN INDICATOR WAS RELEASED IF MOVING FAST ON ROAD. WHILE LOOPING AROUND THE AIRPORT TERMINAL, IT STALLED SEVERAL TIMES AS I TESTED TO SEE IF THE TURN SIGNAL STILL KILLED IT, HAVING TO SHIFT TO NEUTRAL AND RESTART, AS THE CAR WAS IDLING WHEN IT STALLED THIS TIME. I TURNED THE CAR OFF TO LOAD BAGS, AND WHEN I TURNED IT BACK ON, NO SYMPTOMS, AND IT HAS NOT DONE IT SINCE LAST WEEK. THE DEALER COULD NOT REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM, AGAIN NO SOLUTION. *JB
WHEN DRIVING THE CAR IT WOULD REV UP BUT NOT GO ANYWHERE. HONDA DEALER SAID IT NEEDED A WHOLE NEW TRANSMISSION. *TR
THERE WAS NOTHING OF CONSEQUENCE THAT OCCURRED IN THE TIME LEADING UP TO THIS FAILURE. THE DISPLAY, CONTAINING THE CLOCK, AIR CONDITIONING, RADIO, AND CD CONTROLS OF THE 2003 HONDA ACCORD NO LONGER LIGHTS UP. THIS MAKES IT VERY INCONVENIENT TO ATTEMPT TO USE ANY OF THESE FEATURES. IT IS VERY EXPENSIVE TO HAVE THIS FIXED, AS WELL, SINCE THE LIGHT SOURCE IS INSIDE THE UNIT AND THE ENTIRE CENTER UNIT MUST BE REPLACED, WHICH CAN COST APPROXIMATELY 1000 DOLLARS. I AM AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM HAPPENING IN THE CARS OF EVERY OTHER PERSON I KNOW WHO OWNS THE SAME MODEL CAR. *NM
I WAS DRIVING 35-40 MPH AND SUDDENLY MY AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION GOES IN AND OUT OF LOW GEAR SLOWING ME DOWN SUDDENLY. I NOW HAVE NO REVERSE, I WAS AFRAID OF TRANSMISSION LOCKING UP. *NM
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED THE DRIVER SIDE AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY IN A FRONTAL IMPACT CRASH. THE APPROXIMATE SPEED AT THE TIME OF IMPACT WAS 55 MPH. THERE WAS PRE-IMPACT BRAKING. THE DRIVER WAS WEARING A SEAT BELT, AND NO INJURIES WERE SUSTAINED.
