MY 2003 ACCORD HAD WARPED ROTORS AFTER ONLY 6 MONTHS. THEN AT 15K MY BRAKES STARTED SQUEALING AND GRINDING. I TOOK IT TO DEALER AND THEY SAID MY FRONT PADS WERE ALMOST GONE. BLAMED MY DRIVING STYLE AND CITY TRAFFIC. I'VE OWNED AN ACCORD AND ACURA INTEGRA PRIOR TO THIS CAR AND THEY BOTH WERE ON ORIGINAL PADS AT 45KMILES. I THINK HONDA SCREWED UP SOMEWHERE WITH THIS NEW MODEL.
WITHIN A FEW MONTHS OF OWNERSHIP AFTER BUYING THIS CAR NEW MY WIFE BEGAN COMPLAINING THAT THE CAR PULSED UNDER BRAKING. AFTER ABOUT 2 YEARS AND ~ 25K MILES THE PULSING/VIBRATION GOT MUCH, MUCH WORSE SO I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER WHILE CAR WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY. THE DEALER TOLD ME I NEEDED TO HAVE ROTORS TURNED AND NEW PADS INSTALLED, AND THAT IT WOULD COST ME ALMOST $200. THE DEALER DID NOT TELL ME HONDA ISSUED A SERVICE TSB (TSB# 03-069) REGARDING THIS PROBLEM AND THAT THE SERVICE SHOULD BE DONE UNDER WARRANTY PER HONDA. I NEVER RECEIVED ANY NOTICE OF A TSB FROM HONDA TELLING ME THEY WERE HAVING ISSUES WITH BRAKES ON THIS VEHICLE. AS I WAS UNAWARE OF THE BRAKE PROBLEMS SPECIFIC TO THIS VEHICLE I DID NOT HAVE THE SERVICE PERFORMED AT THAT TIME BECAUSE I THOUGHT THE DEALER WAS LYING TO ME AS I HAVE NEVER HAD A CAR THAT HAD BRAKE ROTOR PROBLEMS AT ON ONLY A FEW THOUSAND MILES. NOT TELLING ME OF THE PROBLEM WAS NEGLIGENT OF THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER, SOMEONE COULD HAVE BEEN HURT OR KILLED IF THE BRAKES FAILED. TO TRY AND SOLVE THE PROBLEM I FIRST TOOK THE CAR TO A TIRE SHOP AND HAD THE WHEELS REBALANCED WHICH COST ME $50, THAT DID NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM SO I SPENT ANOTHER $90 ON NEW BRAKE PADS WHICH I DID MYSELF, WHICH ALSO DID NOT HELP...ANYWAY NOW AT 47K MILES THE VIBRATION THAT OCCURS WHEN NEEDING TO STOP FROM HIGHWAY SPEED IS SO SEVERE THE WHOLE CAR SHAKES, IT IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. I RESEARCHED THE PROBLEM ON INTERNET FORUMS AND THIS IS HOW I FOUND OUT ABOUT THE TSB, BUT MY CAR IS NOW FAR OUT OF WARRANTY, SO I NOW MUST HAVE IT FIXED MYSELF, AND IT WILL PROBABLY START TO HAPPEN AGAIN. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND SHOULD HAVE BEEN RECALLED, AND REPLACED WITH UPDATED AND SAFE PARTS. I HAVE NEVER HAD ANY BRAKE ROTOR PROBLEMS ON ANY CAR I EVER OWNED BEFORE THIS CAR. HONDA'S SOLUTION (EVEN IF DONE FREE UNDER WARRANTY) OF TURNING ROTORS IS A TEMPORARY FIX AT BEST AND IS UNACCEPTABLE AS THE PROBLEM WOULD HAVE RECURRED LATER. *JB
WHILE MERGING ONTO INTERSTATE, CAR SLIPPED ON ICY PATCH OF ROAD AND SPUN AROUND TWICE ENDING UP CRASHING INTO GUARD RAIL ON LEFT SIDE OF HIGHWAY. NONE OF THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THE RIGHT FRONT TIE ROD ALSO FAILED.*AK
THE CONSUMER NOTICED A PIECE OF PLASTIC 15 INCHES LONG BY 7 INCHES WIDE FELL OFF FROM THE FRONT BUMPER. THE DEALER HAS BEEN NOTIFIED AND THE FLOOR MANGER INDICATED THEY WILL GET IN CONTACT WITH THE DISTRICT REPRESENTATIVE. *JB
WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS BEING PARKED ON A PARKING LOT, THE CONSUMER DEPRESSED THE BRAKES AND THE VEHICLE LURCHED FORWARD. THIS PROBLEM HAS OCCURRED TWICE AND EACH TIME ANOTHER VEHICLE WAS STRUCK IN THE PROCESS. THERE WERE NO INJURIES INVOLVED IN EITHER CASE. THE DEALER HAS EXAMINED THE VEHICLE BUT COULD NOT FIND THE PROBLEM. *LA *LA
MY '03 4D ACCORD, PURCHASED IN BENTONVILLE,AR, HAS REQUIRED REPLACEMENT OR MACHINING OF THE FRONT BRAKE ROTORS FOUR TIMES DUE TO WARPING (RESULTING IN PULSATING BRAKING). EACH REPAIR HAS LASTED ABOUT 5000 MILES. I'VE LOGGED ABOUT 400K MILES IN HONDAS IN THE LAST 14YRS AND HAVE NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM; ACCUSTOMED TO GOING AT LEAST 150K MI (BEFORE TRADING) WITH NO ROTOR PROBLEMS. *CB
THE VEHICLE IS A 2003 HONDA ACCORD V6 SEDAN. WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AT APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH ANOTHER AUTOMOBILE ENTERED MY LANE. I SWERVED AND HIT THE BRAKES TO AVOID THE CONTACT WITH THE OTHER DRIVER. THE CAR BEGAN TO FISHTAIL ACCROSS THE HIGHWAY COMPLETELY OUT OF CONTROL. THE CAR EVENTUALLY FLIPPED AND ROLLED DOWN THE EMBANKMENT.*AK
WHILE DRIVING IN INCLEMENT WEATHER CONDITIONS AND WHEN DEPRESSING THE BRAKES PEDAL IS DELAYED IN BRAKING, WHICH RESULTS IN EXTENDED STOPPING DISTANCE. *AK
DRIVING DOWN A SMOOTH MAIN STREET, THE SIDE IMPACT AIRBAGS DEPLOYED (SEAT AND WINDOW) THIS HAPPENED FOR NO APPARENT REASON. HONDA DENIES THAT THIS HAS ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE DESIGN OF THE CAR. IT COST MY INSURANCE COMPANY SEVERAL THOUSAND DOLLARS TO REPLACE. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS DEFECT. *NM

ROTORS WARPED AFTER 8000 MILES. HAD TO REPLACE PADS AND ROTORS AT 15000 MILES. DEALER ADMITTED THERE WAS AN ISSUE WITH BRAKES ON THIS CAR, BUT HONDA WON'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT.
SINCE I BOUGHT MY NEW 2003 HONDA ACCORD AT THE END OF THE 2003 YEAR, I SMELLED SULFUR. I WAS TOLD IT WAS THE BATTERY AND IT WOULD GO AWAY. IT NEVER DID. I KEPT TELLING THE DEALER AND SERVICE. THE SULFUR AND ROTTEN EGG SMELL CAME FROM THE AC, AND THE HEAT (BOTH OF WHICH DIDN'T WORK), SULFUR FROM THE REAR AND ALL OVER INTERIOR..I GOT SICK WITH SEVERE MIGRAINES AND NAUSEOUS FOR 5-7 DAYS WITH EMERGENCY ROOM VISITS FOLLOWING MEDIUM TO LONG DRIVES WITH THE AIR ON AND EVEN IF THE AIR WAS NOT ON...THE SULFUR SMELL WAS ALWAYS PRESENT AND SERVICE BLAMED ME AND TOLD ME THE GAS IN NY WAS BAD, AND THEN TOLD ME I SHOULD BE DRIVING 50,000 MILES PER YEAR AND THEN THERE WOULD BE NO SULFUR SMELL. I KEPT FALLING ASLEEP AT THE WHEEL. MY DOCTOR MENTIONED CHECKING THE CARBON MONOXIDE WITH A DETECTOR..IT WAS POSITIVE...THE FIRE DEPARTMENT VERIFIED THAT I HAD CARBON MONOXIDE INSIDE MY CAR - DEADLY. I WAS BEING POISONED FOR TWO YEARS WITH CARBON MONOXIDE POISONING FRO TWO YEARS BY THE EXHAUST COMING INTO THE CAR. THE FIRE DEPT. TOLD ME TO NOT DRIVE THE CAR AT ALL OR TO DRIVE WITH ALL THE WINDOWS WIDE OPEN...EVEN IN THE FREEZING WINTER.....MY MOTHER IS ELDERLY AND I AM DISABLED ON CHEMOTHERAPY ALSO ALL THIS MADE OUR SITUATION QUITE HEINOUS. STILL HONDA DID NOT HELP ME AND THEY KEPT HANGING UP ON ME. I WOULD HAVE DIED IF I DROVE THE AMOUNT THAT HONDA TOLD ME TO. I WOULD HAVE BEEN POISONED. I DO NOT WANT THIS CAR....I JUST WANT MY LIFE BACK AND TO FEEL SAFE WITH THE CAR I DRIVE. I WILL NEVER FEEL SAFE WITH THIS CAR. CARBON MONOXIDE INSIDE THE CAR IS DEADLY AND WHY NO ONE HAS ADDRESSED THIS ISSUE ALONG WITH THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER IS SHOCKING. NO ONE EVER NOTIFIED ME OF THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER EVEN WHEN I BROUGHT THE CAR IN. EVEN WITH AT LEAST TWO TSB'S WHY DID HONDA NOT KNOW TO ADDRESS THE PROBLEM AND WHY DIDN'T THEY EVER CONTACT ME. I JUST WANT THIS CAR OUT OF MY LIFE FOREVER. I HAVE GOTTEN VERY ILL FROM THE CARBON MONOXIDE POISONING AND THE LONG TERM EFFECTS ARE SERIOUS. *JB
STRONG SMELL OF HYDROGEN SULFIDE IN CAR CABIN FIRST NOTICED AT 1,000 MILES MOST PRESENT WHEN ACCELERATING OR WHEN HEAT/AC IS ON. SMELL CAN BE SO SEVERE IT CAUSES HEADACHE AND SORE THROAT. I REPORTED PROBLEM TO TOXIC RELASE DIVISION OF THE EPA. ( E-MAIL TO: TRI.US@EPA.GOV) . *AK
WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED AND WHEN THE BRAKES WERE DEPRESSED VEHICLE JERKED TO ONE SIDE OR THE OTHER. ALSO, THERE WAS A GRINDING SOUND COMING FROM THE FRONT WHEELS. DEALER REPAIRED THE PROBLEM FREE OF CHARGE, CLAIMING THAT OLD BRAKE PADS WERE UPDATED. *AK

HONDA 2003 ACCORD V6 SEDAN. BRAKES PULSATING, AFTER ONLY 12,000 MILES. BROUGHT INTO SHOP, PAID TO HAVE RESURFACED. 2,000 MILES LATER DOING IT AGAIN. IM DEALING WITH DEALERSHIP NOW. READING ALL SORTS OF COMPLAINTS ONLINE THAT ITS A DEFECT. ITS THE DRIVERS IT'S THE CAR DEFECT.*AK
STEERING RACK. I BOUGH MY CAR IN OCTOBER 2003, AND HAVE ABOUT 6000 MILES NOW. BACK IN DECEMBER, FOR COUPLE OF DAYS IN THE MORNING, WHEN IT WAS REALLY COLD, ~18-20F, CAR'S STEERING GOT TIGHTER AND ONCE STEERING WHEEL WAS TURNED EVEN A LITTLE, WOULD NOT COME BACK AUTOMATICALLY BACK BUT I HAD TO PULL IT BACK. LATER IN THE DAY, WHEN IT GOT WARMER, IT GOT BETTER(ALTHOUGH NOT PERFECT) . AGAIN THIS HAPPENENED AT HIGHER SPPEDS AS WELL. COUPLE OF DAYS LATER I WAS DRIVING AT ABOUT 50 MILES AN HOUR, STEERING WHEEL GOT EXTREMELY HARD AND I WAS NOT EVEN ABLE TO CHANGE LANES WHICH REALLY SCARED ME. WHEN I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER, THEY AGREED THAT AT WAS A PROBLEM AND PUT IT UP ON A LIFT. WHEN THEY NOTICED COUPLE OF SCRATCHES ON THE PLASTIC NOSE SKIRT AND PLASTIC TRIMS BY THE DOOR, WHICH GOT THERE DUE TO MINOR PEBBLES ETC. STRIKING THE CAR WHEN IN MOTION. THEY TOLD ME THAT TE PROBLEM WAS DUE TO AN ACCIDENT, EVEN THOUGH THERE IS NO OTHER SIGN ON THE STEERING COMPONENTS OR ANY OTHER VISIBLE SIGNS. I ABSOLUTELY DISAGREED THAT IT WAS DUE TO AN ACCIDENT. ONLY REMEDY THEY TOLD ME WAS TO GET THE STEERING RACK CHANGED. WELL, THEY CHANGED THE STEERING RACK AND REPALCED IT WITH A "HONDA REMANUFACTURED STEERING RACK" WHICH THEY DID NOT COVER UNDER ANY WARRANTY, IN ADDITION THEY CHANGED BOTH THE TIE ROD ENDS AND SOME MORE SMALLER PARTS. THE TOTAL WAS ABOUT $1400. I ASKED THEM TO SAVE THE RACK AND WHEN LOOKED AT IT, OBVIOUSLY THERE WAS NO VISIBLE DAMAMGE ETC, BUT WAS TOLD BY THE DEALER THAT THE DAMAGE IS INSIDE (THE RACK'S METAL PIPE LIKAGE SYSTEM?). I AM 1000% SURE THAT THE STEERING RACK HAS SOME MANUFACTURING PROBLEM, AND SHOULD HAVE BEEN REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY. I HAVE SAVED THE PART AND BROUGH IT HOME WITH ME. I HOPE THAT THE NHTSA FOLKS WOULD PLEASE HELP ME WITH THIS ISSUE. AFTER THE REPAIR AND A FOUR WHEEL ALIGNMENT, CAR STILL DRIFTS SLIGHTLY TO LEFT, BUT HAVE BEEN TOLD BY THE DEALER THAT IT IS NORMAL. *AK
WHILE APPLYING THE BRAKES BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR. THIS CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO SKID INTO A GUARD RAIL. CONSUMER HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALER FOR ANALYSIS, AND MECHANIC NOTICED THAT BOTH ROTORS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED DUE TO CORROSION. *AK
I HAVE A NEW 2003 ACCORD V6 LESS THAN 5,000 MILES. THE CAR HAS HARD STARTS ONE OUT OF EVERY 5-10 TIMES. THERE SEEMS TO BE A GROWING TREND AND I AM WORRIED ABOUT THE DURABILITY OF MY NEW CAR. THE IGNITION TURNS OVER CONTINUOUSLY BUT THE CAR WON'T START. *LA

DRIVER SIDE WINDOW AND WINDSHIELD ARE CREAKING WHEN DRIVING OVER LEFT SIDE BUMPS. CAR TAKEN TO DEALER WHO CLAIMS THIS IS NORMAL BODY FLEX WHICH IS INCORRECT. RESEARCH INDICATES THAT THIS IS POSSIBLY DUE TO A PILLAR CLIPS OR MOHAWK STRIP, HOWEVER DEALER INSPECTED THE A PILLAR AND CLAIMS IT IS "TIGHTENED TO SPEC". *NLM
BRAKES FAILED TO GRAB WHEN IN AN EMERGENCY BREAKING SITUATION AND THE CAR WOULD NOT STOP WHICH CAUSED ME TO HIT ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE BRAKES HAVE BEEN MAKING A GRINGING NOISE WHEN APPLIED EVEN PRIOR TO THIS INCIDENT. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THERE WAS A STONE BETWEEN THE PADS AND THE ROTORS. THE GRINDING NOISE PERSISTS.*AK
THE SUN ROOF EXPLODED. I THOUGHT IT MIGHT HAVE BEEN HIT BY SOMETHING BUT THE GLASS WAS FORCED UPWARD. I ASKED HONDA SERVICE IF THIS COULD BE A DEFECT PROBLEM BUT THEY SAID NO. THIS HAPPENED IN DECEMBER 03 WHEN THE CAR WAS ONLY A FEW MONTHS OLD. I HAD A SIMILAR PROBLEM WITH THE REAR WINDSHIELD WHICH ALSO EXPLODED IN 2007. BOTH THESE EVENTS OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING ON A FREEWAY IN LIGHT TRAFFIC AT 60 MPH..
MY 2006 HONDA ACCORD COUPE V6 HAS BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH TRANSMISSION FAILURE AT A HONDA DEALERSHIP IN BETHESDA, MD. AFTER PICKING THE CAR UP FROM TIRESPLUS TO GET NEW TIRES I PROCEEDED TO DRIVE HOME ON 395 FROM ALEXANDRIA, VA TO WASHINGTON DC. AS I APPROACHED A TRAFFIC LIGHT MY CAR BEGAN TO JERK AND DOWN-SHIFT. I ATTEMPTED TO ACCELERATE BUT THE CAR WOULD JUST JERK AS OTHER DRIVERS SWERVED AROUND ME. I COULD NOT DRIVE ABOVE 35MPH. MY CAR REVVED TO 4000 AND 5000 RPMS AT THOSE LOW SPEEDS FOR ABOUT 4 MILES. THE REPAIR BILL IS ESTIMATED AT $5200 TO INSTALL A NEW TRANSMISSION. I HAVE NOT EXPERIENCED ANY MAJOR, NON-MAINTENANCE RELATED ENGINE PROBLEMS WITH THIS CAR PRIOR TO THIS. *TR
WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH THE DUAL AIRBAGS DEPLOYED INADVERTENTLY. *AK
2003 HONDA ACCORD, BEEN INTO DEALER TWICE FOR BRAKE SHUDDER AND GRINDING NOISE. ROTOR WAS RESURFACED, DEALER SAYS BRAKE PROBLEMS ARE THE RESULT OF HARD BRAKING. STILL HAVE PROBLEMS, NOT RESOLVED. *AK
BOUGHT BRAND NEW 2003 HONDA ACCORD EX-V6 IN 9/03. BY 12/03 AT 4700 MILES, THE FRONT BRAKES WERE NOT WORKING. PER TSB 03-069 HONDA REPLACED THE FRONT BRAKE PADS WITH "NEW" PART NUMBER 45022-SDB-A10. TWO MONTHS LATER, 2/04, THE CAR HAD BRAKE PROBLEMS AGAIN AT 7400 MILES. THIS TIME HONDA "RESURFACED" THE ROTORS AND SAID THE PADS WERE FINE. HOW CAN PADS BE FINE IF THEY ARE HARMING THE ROTORS? THE CAR IS STILL UNSAFE WHEN BRAKING FROM HIGHWAY SPEEDS. HONDA SAYS THAT IT IS MY FAULT! I HAVE BEEN DRIVING SINCE 1989, NEVER GONE THROUGH BRAKES IN UNDER 30K MILES. IT IS NOW 6/04, CAR HAS 11,500 MILES, AND THE BRAKES STILL DON'T WORK RIGHT! HONDA NEEDS TO REPLACE PADS AND ROTORS WITH REDESIGNED SAFE PARTS, ASAP!*AK
ONGOING PROBLEM WITH FAULTY BRAKE PADS. CAUSES VIBRATION ON HIGH SPEEDS AND NOISES. COMPANY ALLEGES BRAKE PADS NEED TO BE REPLACED AND PADS ARE ON BACK ORDER. PROBLEMS INCREASING WITH ADDITIONAL VEHICLE USE. *AK
THE FIRE WALL OR INSULATION UNDER THE HOOD THE COWL WALL CAUGHT ON FIRE AND THEY HAVE NO ANSWER AS TO WHY. WE HAVE HAD TWO ACCORDS AT THE DEALERSHIP I WORK FOR IN THE LAST 6 MONTHS. THE IRONIC PART IS THIS IS MY PERSONAL CAR AN 2003 WITH 25000 MILES ON IT. AND WE HAD A 2004 V6 THAT HONDA BOUGHT BACK FROM OUR DEALERSHIP BECAUSE WE DID NOT WANT TO HAVE TO DISCLOSE TO A CUSTOMER WHICH BY LAW WE WOULD HAVE TO DO. ANY TIME THERE IS A FIRE I WOULD THINK IT WOULD CAUSE A RECALL OF SOME KIND. THEY FEEL THAT THE CAR DID NOT PLAY A ROLE IN THE FIRE BUT THEY ARE UNABLE TO TELL ME WHAT CAUSED IT IN THE FIRST PLACE. MY CONCERN IS YOU NEVER KNOW WHEN THIS IS GOING TO OCCUR LIKE I SAID MY CAR WAS ALREADY A YEAR OLD AND THEN WE HAD AN 04 WITH VERY FEW MILES. I AM GETTING A RUN AROUND FROM THE VERY COMPANY THAT I HAVE WORKED FOR THE LAST 8.5 YEARS. AND AM NOT SURE WHAT TO DO. NOW THEY WANT ME TO INCLUDE MY INSURANCE COMPANY WHICH IS RIDICULOUS BECAUSE THIS IS A HONDA ISSUE. I HAVE NOT HEARD ANYTHING THAT WOULD SATISFY ANYONE. WOULD YOU FEEL COMFORTABLE PUTTING YOUR FAMILY IN MY CAR? MY UNDERSTANDING IS THAT THEY WONT RECALL OR CAMPAIGN UNTIL THEY HAVE ENOUGH CASES AND THEY ARE SAYING THAT THERE ARE ONLY 10 OR 20 CASES IN THE US. SINCE OWNING THIS CAR JANUARY 2003, THE FOLLOWING HAS HAPPENED TO IT: ABS HARNESS CAUGHT ON FIRE (CAR WAS SAVED, BUT HONDA REFUSED TO GIVE ME ANOTHER CAR AFTER WRITING THEM), RADIO HAS GONE OUT, CLOCK GONE OUT, TROUBLE STARTING VEHICLE - THIS IS APPARENTLY A FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR - TECH NOTICE BUT NO RECALL. THE FRONT BRAKES WERE SILENTLY RECALLED ONLY IF YOU STATE YOUR HAVING PROBLEMS. THIS CAR HAS BEEN ONE BIG PROBLEM. *NM
FALLING ACORNS HAVE LEFT MANY POCK MARKS ON THE BODY OF MY 2003 ACCORD. MY OTHER CAR IS PARKED IN THE SAME AREA WITH NO DAMAGE. THE METAL ON THE 2003 ACCORD FEELS SIGNIFICANTLY WEAKER TO THE TOUCH THAN THE BODY OF MY OTHER CARS. THIS CAR LOOKS LIKE IT WAS PELTED WITH HAIL STONES. I WAS ABLE TO EASILY REMOVE THE IGNITION KEY FROM AN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION CAR. BECAUSE OF THIS, I ASSUMED THE TRANSMISSION WAS IN PARK WHEN ACTUALLY IT WAS IN REVERSE. LATER THE CAR ROLLED FORWARD STRIKING AT LEAST ONE OTHER CAR.*AK
WITHOUT WARNING PASSENGER'S SIDE AIR BAG DEPLOYED WHEN THE DRIVER HIT A BUMP IN THE ROAD GOING 35 MPH. *AK
CATALYTIC CONVERTER REPLACED AT JUST OVER 3000 MILES ON MY 2003 HONDA ACCORD. I CONTINUE TO GET AN EXTREMELY STRONG SULFAR ODOR. THE DEALER HAS GIVEN SEVERAL EXCUSES AS TO WHY THERE IS A SMELL. ALSO THEY HAVE OFFERED DIFFERENT SUGGESTIONS TO REMEDY THE SITUATION. NONE OF WHICH WORKED. NOW I AM HAVING BRAKE PROBLEMS WHICH THEY CAN'T SEEM TO FIX EITHER. BOTH PROBLEMS SEEM SEVERE ENOUGH THAT I WOULD THINK HONDA WOULD STAND UP AND TAKE RESPONSIBILITY. I AM FRUSTRATED AND DISAPPOINTED.*AK
I HAVE PROBLEMS WITH MY HEADLIGHTS DIMMING AS I DRIVE ALONG. THE HEADLIGHTS SEEM TO BE FLASHING HIGH TO LOW. WHEN THEY DIM THEY LOSE 20 TO 30 PERCENT OF THEIR BRIGHTNESS. I CAN REALLY SEE THEM FLASHING ON DARK ROADS WERE THERE ARE NO STREET LIGHTS. HONDA DEALER CANNOT FIND THE PROBLEM. *LA
RECURRING BRAKE ROTOR WARPED PROBLEM ON 2003 HONDA ACCORD EX SEDAN.. PROBLEM FIRST NOTED AROUND 18K MILES.. DEALER RESURFACED BRAKES AT 30K MILES, AFTER COMPLAINT WAS ISSUED.. ABOUT 1500 MILES LATER PROBLEM RECURRED.. SYMPTOM APPEARS TO COME FROM FRONT BRAKES, AT THE END OF BRAKING A METALLIC SHUDDER OCCURS FOR THE LAST 2 SECONDS.. INTERMITTENTLY UPON FREEWAY EXITING THE PROBLEM SEEMS TO LAST MUCH LONGER, SHUDDER CAUSES THE DRIVER TO QUESTION IF THE BRAKES WILL WORK OR NOT.. THIS IS THE 6TH HONDA I HAVE OWNED IN THE PAST 14 YEARS, AND THE FIRST ONE TO EXHIBIT SUCH BEHAVIOR.. I HAVE READ OTHER COMPLAINTS, POSTS ON THE INTERNET WHEREAS MANY DRIVERS ARE HAVING THE SAME COMPLAINT ON THIS NEWLY REDESIGNED MODEL ACCORD. SOME POSTS HAVE MADE THE SUGGESTION THAT THE CALIPER IS THE ACTUAL DEFECTIVE PART OF THE BRAKING SYSTEM, ALL I KNOW, IS THE WARPING ROTOR IS CAUSING A VERY SERIOUS AND DANGEROUS DRIVING SITUATION. *NM
2003 HONDA ACCORD PULLS RIGHT/LEFT DURING NORMAL DRIVING AT 65 MPH. THE CAR IS DIFFICULT TO KEEP IN LINE, WALLOWS BACK AND FORTH. THE CAR ONLY HAS 1000 MILES ON THE ODOMETER. DEALER CLAIMS THAT THEY HAVE NEVER HEAR OF THIS PROBLEM. *LA

WITHIN THE FIRST YEAR OF OWNING MY HONDA ACCORD (BLACK PEARL) THE PAINT PITTED ALL OVER, NOT JUST ON THE HOOD. HONDA NORTH IN MA AS WELL AS THE CA OFFICE CLAIMED IT WAS ROAD RASH --- IT WAS ALL OVER THE CAR - AREAS THAT WOULD BE HARD-PRESSED TO GET ANY STONE/ROAD DEBRIS. THEY REFUSED TO REMEDY THE PROBLEM ALSO, I JUST NOW LEARNED THAT THE POWER TRAIN HAS BEEN RECALLED. I DID NOT RECEIVE ANY NOTICE WHATSOEVER. *JB
I WAS ABLE TO REMOVE THE KEY FROM THE IGNITION WHILE THE TRANSMISSION SELECTOR IN "DRIVE". I CAN EASILY REPEAT THIS AND I CAN ALSO INSERT THE KEY WHILE THE SELECTOR IS STILL IN "DRIVE". THE CAR ROLLED BACKWARDS OUT OF MY ALMOST-LEVEL DRIVEWAY AND CAME TO A STOP AFTER IT STRUCK A TREE ACROSS THE STREET. *AK

A VERY SMALL PEBBLE (QUARTER OF THE SIZE OF A DIME) IN FORM OF ROAD DEBRIS, PUNCTURED THE AIR CONDITIONER (AC) CONDENSER. HONDA SAID THAT THEY WOULD NOT COVER THE REPAIRS UNDER WARRANTY. THE DEALER INFORMED ME THAT OTHER PEOPLE ALSO HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM. HONDA NEEDS TO DESIGN A SHIELD FOR THE CONDENSER OR BUILD STRONGER CONDENSERS. COST OF REPAIRS WAS ALMOST $500!! THE CAR IS ALMOST BRAND NEW, ONLY 7500 MILES. *LA
WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, THE PAVEMENT BECAME SLIPPERY. THIS CAUSED THE DRIVER TO LOSE CONTROL RUNNING OFF THE ROAD INTO A DITCH. THE SIDE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED UPON CONTACT BUT NOT THE DRIVER'S AIR BAG. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER INFORMATION. *PH CONSUMER LOST CONTROL OF VEHICLE WHILE DRIVING ON SLIPPERY PAVEMENT AT 55 MPH. VEHCILE RAN OFF THE ROAD INTO A DITCH AND DRIVER'S SIDE AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY.*MR
WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED THE CONSUMER PRESSED THE GAS AND BRAKE PEDALS AT THE SAME TIME. CONSUMER FELT THAT THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS NOT HIGH ENOUGH AND AWAY FROM THE GAS PEDAL. *AK THE BRAKES WOULD GRIND WHEN COMING TO A SLOW STOP. THE DEALER REFINISHED THE FRONT DISC AND INSTALLED NEW FRONT BRAKE PADS. *NM
CHILD SEAT BUCKLE INTERMITTENTLY DOES NOT CONNECT WITH THE LATCH. ALSO, WHENEVER THE BUCKLE DOES CONNECT WITH THE LATCH IT WILL NOT RELEASE. CONSUMER COMPLAINS THAT THE HARNESS DOES NOT STAY IN POSITION, AND THE CHILD CAN GET OUT OF THE SEAT ON HIS OWN. *AK
BRAKES ON 2003 HONDA ACCORD MAKING REALLY BAD CLUNKING AND SCREECHING NOISES. HONDA ISSUED A TSB-03-069. BUT, DEALER SAYS MY CAR IS NORMAL. I'VE NEVER HAD A CAR WHICH MADE SO MUCH BRAKING NOISES. I'VE ALSO HEARD THAT MANY OTHER ACCORD OWNERS ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. THIS SHOULD BE A SAFETY ISSUE, BECAUSE THE BRAKES FEEL AS THOUGH THEY'RE GOING TO FAIL EVERYTIME THEY START MAKING NOISES. AFTER MULTIPLE SERVICE VISITS, TEST DRIVES AND COMPLAINTS TO HONDA AMERICA AND MY HONDA DEALER, MY 03 ACCORD EX V6 COUPE'S WHINING TRANSMISSION WAS DETERMINED TO BE "NORMAL." ON MY FIRST DRIVE ON A FREEWAY AFTER PICKING UP MY CAR, MY HONDA FAILED TO ACCELERATE PAST 50 MPH AND THE TACHOMETER RED LINED, I RELEASED THE GAS PEDAL AND THE CAR'S TRANSMISSION JUMPED INTO 1ST OR 2ND GEAR WITHOUT WARNING. I WAS ALMOST HIT BY A CAR BEHIND ME THAT DIDN'T HAVE ANY WARNING OF MY SUDDEN DECELERATION. IT TOOK A NEAR ACCIDENT FOR HONDA TO FINALLY REPLACE MY TRANSMISSION. *LA
FIRWALL HEAT. 2003 HONDA ACCORD, BOUGHT IN SEPETEMBER OF 2003. IN OCTOBER, ON THE WAY HOME FROM VACATION, (SPEED 65, CAR ON FREEWAY FOR AT LEAST 5 HOURS) THE CD EJECTED FROM THE DASHBOARD WAS SO HOT THAT I THOUGHT THE OTHER CD'S IN THE PLAYER WOULD MELT, SO I EJECTED THEM ALL. CALL TO DEALER SERVICE SAID THAT SIMILIAR COMPLAINTS HAD COME IN BUT NOT TO WORRY. JUNE 8, 2003 THE LIGHTS IN RADIO AND LOWER CONTROLS GO OUT. SUBURBAN HONDA, IS GOING TO REPLACE THE RADIO UNIT, WHICH I BELIEVE BURNED OUT FROM HEAT, THE LOWER LIGHT BULB TOO, THOUGH SERVICE SAID IT WAS WORKING. IT WAS NOT WHEN I BOUGHT THE CAR IN. WHEN I SUGGESTED THE FIREWALL HEAT PROBLEM, I WAS ASKED WHO I HAD BEEN TALKING TOO. I KNOW THAT THERE WILL BE OTHER COMPLAINTS ON THIS SUBJECT OF THIS MODEL YEAR. *AK
