WHILE DRIVING AT 65 MPH CONSUMER DROVE OVER AN OBJECT ON HIGHWAY THAT CAUSED THE CURTAIN AIR BAGS TO DEPLOY, BUT NOT TO INFLATE *AK
BRAKES ARE NO GOOD AFTER 6500 MILES THE DEALER WON'T FIX THEM UNDER WARRANTY BECAUSE HONDA CLAIMS IT'S THE WAY I DRIVE. *AK
I AM EXPERIENCING A BRAKE ROTOR PROBLEM WITH MY 2003 ACCORD SEDAN. THE CAR HAS 25000 MILES AND IS GOING IN FOR THE 4TH TIME FOR SERVICE ON THE BRAKES. THE ROTORS WERE RESURFACED TWICE AND REPLACED ONCE AND THE PROBLEM IS BACK AGAIN.*AK
PROBLEMS WITH 2003 HONDA ACCORD.*MR (NAR) WHILE BAKING UP THE COLUMNS BETWEEN THE REAR AND SIDE WINDOWS BLOCKED THE CONSUMER'S VIEW. *NM
I HAVE HAD 3 PCS VALVES REPLACED IN MY 20003 HONDA ACCORD. THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START OR EMISSION LIGHT CAME ON TO INDICATE A PROBLEM. I ALSO HAVE A LOUD GRINDING SOUND THE FIRST TIME I USE THE BRAKES WHEN DRIVING.*AK
I HAVE A 2003 HONDA 4DOOR ACCORD V6 AND SOMETIMES IT WON'T START ON THE FIRST CRANK.*AK
MY 03, HONDA, ACCORD HAD BEEN DRIFTING TO THE RIGHT, AND FELT A LITTLE BUMPY. WHILE I WAS DRIVING MY AXLE HAD SNAPPED OFF. THIS WAS SOMETHING HONDA NEVER HEARD OFF, AND SAID IT WAS MY FAULT, SAYING I HAD HIT SOMETHING. THERE IS NO DAMAGE DONE TO MY CAR, PROVING NOTHING WAS HIT. I AM VERY SCARED TO HAVE THIS HAPPEN TO ME I AM GLAD THAT I WAS SLOWING DOWN. I AM NOT SURE HOW THIS HAPPENED, BUT IT WAS NOT DUE TO ANY ACTIONS CAUSED BY ME. HONDA HAS CLAIMED THAT THEY HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS SINCE THERE SEEMS TO BE NO MECHANICAL PROBLEMS. ALSO HONDA SAID THIS COULD NEVER HAPPEN TO THEIR CAR AND THAT WAS ALL THEY WANTED TO SAY.*AK
DEFECTIVE FRONT AIRBAGS. *AK
HOLE IN AIR CONDITIONER CONDENSOR. A HISSING NOISE AND ODOR WERE COMING FROM THE FRONT OF THE CAR ON 8/7. TOOK AUTO IN TO SERVICE DEPARMENT THAT DAY AND THEY COULD NOT FIND PROBLEM. WENT BACK 4 DAYS LATER (8/11) BECAUSE AIR WAS NOT WORKING AND WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS A HOLE IN THE CONDESOR WHICH CAUSED THE VEHICLE NOT TO HOLD FREON. SERVICE DEPARMENT HAD PART IN STOCK AT THE TIME, BUT I HAD TO WAIT TO HAVE IT REPAIRED SO THAT I COULD FILE A CLAIM WITH INSURANCE. CLAIM WAS APPROVED 2 DAYS LATER, SO I TOOK CAR BACK TO SERVICE CENTER. I WAS TOLD PART WAS ON NATIONAL BACK-ORDER AND IT COULD BE 1-2 WEEKS BEFORE IT CAME IN, THEY WERE GIVEN NO ETA. CAR IS 7 MONTHS OLD AND I AM CURRENTLY DRIVING IN 90 DEGREE HEAT WITH NO AIR CONDITIONING. *AK
AROUND 6000 KM, WHENEVER I STEP ON THE GAS PEDAL, I WOULD FEEL THE CAR SHAKE SLIGHTLY..AND AN ENGINE SOUND. AT FIRST, I THOUGHT I JUST NEEDED AN OIL CHANGE, EVEN THOUGH 6000 WAS A BIT LOW KM FOR A OIL CHANGE...I THOUGHT MAYBE BECAUSE I PURCHASE THE CAR IN WINTER TIME, AND IT WAS NOW SUMMER TIME. I TOOK THE CAR IN FOR OIL CHANGE, ALSO TELLIGN THEM THE PROBLEM...AND SURE ENOUGH..AFTER THE EXAMINATION, THEY TOLD ME THERE WAS OIL LEAK BOTTOM OF THE CAR...AND THE WHOLE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE SERVICE CENTRE ALSO TOLD ME THAT THIS IS A VERY RARE INCIDENT, AND IT IS CONSIDER A DEFECT..AND THIS KIND OF STUFF ONLY HAPPENS TO CARS OVER 600,000. ALSO THAT, IF I HAD WAITED...ALL THE OIL COULD HAVE DRIPPED AND WOULD CAUSE A WHOLE ENGINE FAILURE. EITHER WAY..IT WAS NOT A GOOD FEELING TO KNOW THAT I NEEDED TO REPLACE MY TRANSMISSION AT 6000KM.
IN MAY 2003, I PURCHASED A NEW 2003 HONDA ACCORD EX. SOON AFTER, I NOTICED A STRONG VIBRATION WHEN BRAKING. I TOOK THE VEHICLE IN TO A HONDA DEALER FOR SERVICE IN AUGUST 2003. THEY DETERMINED THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE BRAKE ROTORS. THIS APPEARED TO FIX THE PROBLEM, BUT A COUPLE MONTHS LATER, THE VIBRATIONS RETURNED. AGAIN, THE DEALER REPLACED THE ROTORS. ABOUT ONE YEAR LATER, THE VIBRATIONS RETURNED. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A DIFFERENT DEALER AND THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG, SO THEY JUST REPLACED THE ROTORS AGAIN. THIS WAS IN JULY 2004. THIS SOLVED THE PROBLEM UNTIL MID-2006 WHEN THE VIBRATIONS STARTED AGAIN. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO ANOTHER DEALER. NOW ALL THEY DID THIS TIME WAS RESURFACE THE ROTORS AND CHANGE THE BRAKE PADS. THIS TIME, I HAD TO PAY $375 TO "FIX" THE PROBLEM AS IT IS NOW OUT OF WARRANTY. *JB
THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY WITH PARK BRAKE ENGAGED WHEN THE VEHICLE ROLLED OUT INTO THE STREET DUE TO A FAULTY IGNITION. *AK
I PURCHASED MY HONDA ACCORD LX V6 ON AUGUST 9, 2003. AFTER A WEEK OF DRIVING, I NOTICED THAT THE RIGHT CORNER NEAR THE DASH BOARD'S GENERATING A RATTLE NOISE WHENEVER I GO OVER AN UNEVEN ROAD. I TOOK IT INTO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THEY CAN NOT FIGURE IT OUT. THEY BELIEVE IT'S THE PLASTIC RUBBING AGAINST PLASTIC. HOWEVER, I DON'T THINK THAT'S THE CASE SINCE IT DOESN'T SOUND LIKE RUBBING NOISE AND MORE LIKE SOMETHING IS LOOSE INSIDE THE VENTILATION OR THE AIRBAG AREA ??? I ALSO HAVE A VERY ANNOYING RATTLING SOUND COMING OUT OF THE CENTER RADIO AREA. WHENEVER I GO OVER AN RAIL TRACKS OR REALLY UNEVEN ROADS, THE RATTLE NOISE WILL START. I OFTEN HAD TO PUSH THE PLASTIC IN A LITTLE BIT JUST TO MAKE IT STOP FOR FEW SECOND. IT'S GETTING TO THE POINT WERE IT IS UNBEARABLE !!! OF COURSE, WHEN I TOOK IT INTO THE DEALERSHIP, THEY TOLD ME THEY COULDN'T GENERATE THAT NOISE. LASTLY, MY FRONT DRIVER WINDOW AND REAR RIGHT SIDE WINDOW IS MAKING A RATTLING NOISE. I THINK I SEE A LOT OF PEOPLE ON THIS SITE IS STATING SOMETHING ABOUT A PILLAR CLIPS ??? I WONDER IF THAT THE CAUSE OF THE WINDOW NOISES ??? ANYWAYS, I JUST WANT YOU TO KNOW THAT I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED AT THE QUALITY OF HONDA AND I ESPECIALLY HATE WHEN I HAVE DEALERSHIP SERVICE MANAGER TELLING ME IF I TURN MY MUSIC LOUD ENOUGH, I WILL NOT HEAR THE NOISE. YOU TELL ME, IS THAT A GOOD ANSWER FOR YOU IF IT IS YOUR CAR THAT IS HAVING THESE KIND OF PROBLEMS ???!!! P.S. I HAVE ALWAYS OWNED A HONDA. HOWEVER, SINCE I CAN NO LONGER BELIEVE IN THE QUALITY OF HONDA VEHICLES, THIS WILL BE MY LAST HONDA I WILL EVER BUY IN MY LIFE. *JB
DRIVER'S SEAT ON MY 2003 HONDA ACCORD SHIFTS WHEN TURNING. I AM THE ONLY DRIVER AND DON'T NORMALLY MOVE THE SEAT, BUT THE DEALER SAYS IT IS "NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR" AND THE TRACKS NEED TO BE REPLACED. I AM NOT A VERY BIG PERSON, THE CAR ONLY HAS 42,880 MILES, AND THIS IS THE ONLY CAR THAT I HAVE EVER HAD THIS PROBLEM WITH. SO I DO NOT BELIEVE IT IS A "NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR" PROBLEM. I BELIEVE IT IS A DEFECT AND SAFETY ISSUE AND DOUBT THAT MERELY REPLACING THE TRACKS WILL RESOLVE THE ISSUE. I AM CONCERNED THAT IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT, THERE COULD BE A CATASTROPHIC FAILURE OF THE SEAT TRACKS LEADING TO SUBSTANTIAL INJURIES. *JB
UPON REACHING INTO TRUCK, AND NOT REALIZING THAT THE TRUNK LID HAD OPENED FULLY, I RAMMED MY HEAD INTO THE TRUNK LOCK, CAUSING A MILD CONCUSSION. THIS CAUSED ME TO BE OFF WORK FOR 4 DAYS. I AM GLAD THAT THE LOCK HAD A PLASTIC COVER OR I WOULD HAVE SURELY SPLIT MY HEAD OPEN. THANK YOU . *AK
2003 HONDA ACCORD EX SEDAN WITH 4 CYLINDER. CAR HAS DEVELOPED HIGH IDLE 1800 RPM WHEN COLD. CAR WILL ACCELERATE (ACTUALLY JUMPS) TO 20 MPH WITH FOOT OFF THE ACCELERATOR. TAKES OVER +5 MINUTES BEFORE IT REDUCES TO A NORMAL IDLE (APPROXIMATELY 2 MILES WORTH OF DRIVING). THIS IS A REALLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. ALSO EXPERIENCING THE ROTTEN EGG SMELL ENTERING INTO THE DRIVERS COMPARTMENT. THE AIR CONDITIONER (A/C) HAS A SERIOUS VIBRATION WHEN COMING ON THAT HAS HAD SEVERAL PASSENGERS ASK ME WHAT THE NOISE AND VIBRATION WERE. IT'S A SHAME SINCE I HAVE BEEN TO THE DEALER 3 TIMES FOR THESE PROBLEMS AND CAME AWAY WITH THEM MAKING ME FEEL GUILTY AND THAT I'M THE ONLY ONE WITH THESE PROBLEM. I GUESS I'M GLAD THAT SITES LIKE THIS EXIST...THANKS. *LA
MY 2003 HONDA ACCORD HAS A REALLY BAD "ROTTEN EGG" SMELL ALMOST IMMEDIATELY AFTER I PURCHASED THE CAR IN OCTOBER OF 2002. I HAVE ALREADY HAD THE CONVERTER REPLACED AT 3000 MILES. I HAVE SWITCHED BRANDS OF GASOLINE. STILL HAVE THE SMELL. I WAS TOLD ALL THE SENSORS CHECK OUT OKAY. WOULD LIKE SOME CLOSURE TO THE SMELL. THIS IS MY FIRST HONDA. JUST HAD THE 10K MILE SERVICE, CAR RUNS WORSE THAN BEFORE. POSSIBLY MY LAST HONDA PRODUCT UNLESS I GET THE PROBLEM RESOLVED.

2003 ACCORD LX MANUAL TRANSMISSION HAS A RATTLE INSIDE THE DRIVERS AND PASSENGER DOORS IN THE AREA DOOR LOCK POST. THE RATTLE APPEARS WHEN THE CAR IS IN MOTION WITH WINDOWS UP OR DOWN AND DOORS LOCKED OR UNLOCKED. I BROUGHT THE CAR TO A DEALER 3 TIMES TO GET IT FIXED HOWEVER THEY STILL WERE UNABLE TO HELP ME. *JB
BRAKES SQUEALING CONSTANTLY. ROTORS WARPED AT 7,000 MILES; NOW AT 18,000 MILES, BRAKES SQUEALING AND IT APPEARS ROTORS MAY BE WARPED AGAIN. *LA
WARPED BRAKE ROTORS. BRAKE ROTORS ON MY 2003 ACCORD EX V-6 WARPED AT ABOUT 5,000 MILES. I WAS UNAWARE OF THIS WEBSITE AT THE TIME (ABOUT AUGUST 2003). THE DEALER RESURFACED THE ROTORS BUT BLAMED ME FOR DRIVING TOO FAST ON MOUNTAINOUS ROADS... SEEMED A BIT RUDE AND PRESUMPTUOUS ON THEIR PART SINCE I DON'T DRIVE FASTER THAN NORMAL TRAFFIC NOR ON MOUNTAIN ROADS. THE ROTORS STARTED EXHIBITING WARPING AGAIN AT ABOUT 9,000 MILES. THIS SEEMS LIKE A COMMON COMPLAINT AND I SUSPECT IT MAY BE DUE TO POOR SELECTION OF MATERIAL OR DESIGN OF THE ROTORS OR BRAKE SYSTEM. *LA
ON JULY 31, 2010, I WAS DRIVING ABOUT 45-50 MPH ON A HIGHWAY. TWICE WHEN I LIGHTLY ACCELERATED, THE CAR JERKED FORWARD AS IF I HAD HIT THE ACCELERATOR VERY HARD RATHER THAN VERY LIGHTLY. THIS HAPPENED TWICE THAT DAY; NOTHING LIKE THIS HAD EVER HAPPENED BEFORE. MY TRANSMISSION FAILED THE NEXT DAY ON AUGUST 1, 2010 WHILE I WAS ON THE INTERSTATE. IT FAILED VERY SPECTACULARLY. I WAS DRIVING 70ISH MPH (THAT IS THE SPEED LIMIT). I SLOWED WHEN I APPROACHED A CAR IN FRONT OF ME. WHEN IT PULLED OVER SO I COULD PASS, I LIGHTLY TOUCHED THE ACCELERATOR AND THE CAR JERKED AS IF I HAD HIT THE BRAKE VERY HARD. I WAS SHOCKED AND SCARED; I QUICKLY TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE ACCELERATOR AND LET THE CAR SLOW. I REMOVED MY SANDAL TO BE SURE MY FOOT WAS ONLY TOUCHING THE CORRECT PEDAL AND I COULD FEEL EXACTLY THE PRESSURE I WAS PUTTING ON IT; I PUT MY SANDAL IN THE SEAT BESIDE ME. I LIGHTLY STEPPED ON THE ACCELERATOR AGAIN WITH MY BARE FOOT, AND AGAIN THE CAR JERKED AS IF I HAD HIT THE BRAKE HARD. I BRAKED GENTLY AND PULLED OVER TO THE SHOULDER, STOPPED AND PUT THE CAR IN PARK. AFTER I CALMED FROM THE FEAR, I SHIFTED INTO D3 TO TRY ANOTHER GEAR (RATHER THAN D). I SLOWLY ACCELERATED AND IN A FEW SECONDS THE CAR STARTED JERKING AS IF I HIT THE ACCELERATOR HARD, THEN THE ENGINE REVVED WITH NO ENGAGEMENT OF TRANSMISSION, THEN IT JERKED AS IF I BRAKED HARD; ALL THIS IN A MATTER OF SECONDS AT A SLOW SPEED ON THE SHOULDER. AGAIN I BRAKED GENTLY, STOPPED AND PUT THE CAR IN PARK. LAST NIGHT, AUG 1, I HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE THE TECHNICIAN TEST DROVE IT THIS MORNING, AUG 2. HE TOLD MY SERVICE ADVISOR THE CAR WAS FRIGHTENING TO DRIVE; HE TOLD MY SERVICE ADVISOR THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS VERY BAD, THAT HE FELT AS IF HE MIGHT GET WHIPLASH. THEY GAVE ME AN ESTIMATE TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION AT $4500. *TR
I PURCHASED A 2003 ACCORD IN JUNE 2003. THE DAY I DROVE IT OFF THE LOT I NOTICED A VIBRATION THAT CAN BE FELT IN THE STEERING WHEEL. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER, AND THEY CLAIMED THAT THE VIBRATION WAS CAUSED BY OUT OF BALANCE TIRES, AND THEIR SOLUTION WAS TO BALANCE ALL FOUR WHEELS. AFTER BALANCING THE TIRES, THE VIBRATION STILL EXISTED. I TOOK MY CAR BACK FOR AN OIL CHANGE AND TOLD THEM THAT THE VIBRATION WAS STILL PRESENT. I TOOK THE TECHNICIAN ON A TEST DRIVE AND HE CONFIRMED THE VIBRATION, HOWEVER WHEN I RETURNED TO PICK UP MY CAR IT WAS INDICATED ON THE REPORT THAT THE VIBRATION WAS A NORMAL CONDITION OF THE HONDA ACCORD. STRONG VIBRATIONS IN THE STEERING WHEEL ARE NOT NORMAL, AND HONDA SHOULD TAKE CORRECTIVE ACTION TO FIX THIS PROBLEM.*AK
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 HONDA ACCORD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH THE CONTACT SMELLED SULFUR INSIDE THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE BELIEVED THE SMELL WAS EMITTING FROM THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO STATED THE SMELL WAS NORMAL. THE CONTACT CONTINUED TO DRIVER THE VEHICLE WITH THE SULFUR SMELL SINCE NO REMEDY WAS PROVIDED BUT THE SMELL WAS BECOMING TOO HARSH TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
2003 ACCORD EX V6 MT. AS OTHERS HAVE REPORTED HERE, AND AS REPORTED ELSEWHERE ON THE WEB AND AT OWNER FORUMS, FRONT BRAKE SYSTEM IS DEFECTIVE. WHEN BRAKING LIGHTLY FROM INTERSTATE HIGHWAY SPEEDS (65-70) THERE IS A POWERFUL KICKBACK INTO THE STEERING WHEEL, ESPECIALLY ON ROUGH PAVEMENT. LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL IS A SERIOUS RISK. THIS PROBLEM HAS PERSISTED FROM THE FIRST DAY I OWNED THE CAR. I ASKED THE DEALERSHIP ABOUT THIS PROBLEM BEFORE I BOUGHT THE CAR (BASED ON READING COMPLAINTS HERE, WHICH WERE FEWER THAN WHAT I SEE TODAY), AND WAS TOLD THEY HAD RECEIVED ZERO COMPLAINTS ABOUT FRONT BRAKE PROBLEMS ON 2003 ACCORDS. THE STEERING WHEEL VIBRATION PROBLEM IS ABSENT ON VERY SMOOTH ASPHALT AT ANY SPEED, SO I WONDER IF IT IS OTHER THAN A ROTOR ISSUE. BUT IN ANY EVENT, HAVING DRIVEN THIS CAR AT 70 MPH AND HIT THE BRAKES RATHER MODESTLY, I CAN TELL YOU THAT THIS IS NOT SAFE IN MY OPINION. HAD I KNOWN THIS, I WOULD NOT HAVE BOUGHT THIS CAR AT ANY PRICE. THIS VEHICLE TRAVELS 100 MILES PER DAY WITH 85 OF THOSE MILES ON OPEN HIGHWAY. IT IS THE 12TH VEHICLE I HAVE OWNED AND THE 1ST VEHICLE TO HAVE THIS HIDEOUS STEERING WHEEL SHUTTER. *LA
THERE IS A PROBLEM IN THE BRAKING SYSTEM OF THE NEW 2003 ACCORD COUPE. IN MARCH, I HAD TO HAVE THE ROTORS RESURFACED BECAUSE OF VIBRATION. IT IS NOW ONLY JULY AND NOW THE PROBLEM IS BACK. MY LOCAL HONDA DEALER DOESN'T WANT TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT, AND THAT I MUST PAY. I HAVE RESEARCHED THE WEB AND THERE ARE OTHERS WHO HAVE SIMILAR COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE NEW ACCORD COUPE'S BRAKES.*AK
MY NAME IS [XXX] AND I PURCHASED A 2003 HONDA ACCORD COUPE EX (2-DOOR COUPE) FROM THE MADISON HONDA DEALER LOCATED IN MADISON, NJ IN APRIL OF 2003. A FEW MONTHS AFTER I PURCHASED MY NEW CAR I REALIZED THAT MY CAR WAS PULLING TO THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE ROAD. I TOOK MY CAR INTO HONDA AND THEY ROTATED MY TIRES TELLING ME THAT THE PROBLEM WASN'T AN ALIGNMENT ISSUE BUT BALANCING OF THE TIRES. I DROVE MY CAR AND REALIZED THAT IS WAS PULLING TO THE LEFT SIDE OF THE ROAD, I TOOK MY CAR IN AGAIN AND THEY RE-ROTATED AND BALANCED MY TIRES. AFTER THAT, MY CAR STARTED PULLING TO THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE ROAD. I THEN TOOK MY CAR IN AGAIN STATING THAT I WANTED TO HAVE THE TIRES CHECKED OUT AS IT APPEARED THAT THE PROBLEM FOLLOWED THE TIRES. THEY SAID THE TIRES WERE FINE AND THERE WAS SOMETHING OFF IN MY FRONT SUSPENSION THAT THEY RE-ADJUSTED. I DROVE MY CAR AFTER THE ADJUSTMENT TO DISCOVER THAT THE CAR STILL PULLED TO THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE ROAD. I TOOK IT IN YET AGAIN AND DROVE WITH A MECHANIC WHO TOLD ME THAT THIS WAS NORMAL FOR ALL 2003 ACCORDS TO PULL TO THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE ROAD AND THERE WAS NOTHING MORE THAT THEY COULD DO AS MY CAR WAS WITHIN THEIR SPECIFICATIONS. NOT BEING SATISFIED I KEPT REQUESTING TO SPEAK TO MORE INDIVIDUALS WITHIN THE HONDA ORGANIZATION ONLY TO BE TOLD THEY WOULD DO NOTHING MORE, THAT PULLING TO THE RIGHT IS NORMAL ON ALL CARS. I AM NOT SATISFIED WITH THE ANSWER THAT HONDA HAD GIVEN ME AND I WANTED TO RAISE THIS ISSUE TO THE NATIONAL SECURITY COUNCIL AS I THINK THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS RISK IF MY CAR IS PULLING TO THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE ROAD. I PURCHASED A BRAND NEW HONDA ACCORD V6 ON 4/26/03, SINCE THIS DATE MY CAR HAS BEEN BACK INTO THE DEALERSHIP FOR A PULLING TO THE RIGHT 5 TIMES. I HAVE FILED A COMPLAINT WITH AMERICAN HONDA CORP, BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU, CALIFORNIA BUREAU OF AUTOMIVE REPAIRS AND SPOKE TO A LEMON LAW ATTORNEY. AFTER READING ALL OF THE COMPLAINTS ON THIS WEB SITE FOR THE SAME ISSUE WITH THESE CARS, I TRUELY BELIEVE I BOUGHT A LEMON!! THE REP. FROM HONDA SOUNDED PUZZLED WHEN I EXPLAINED WHAT MY CAR WAS DOING. I HAVE HAD NO RESOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM, THE DEALER'S SERVICE DEPT. HAS "TRIED EVERYTHING THEY CAN" AND "DO NOT KNOW WHAT IS CAUSING THE PROBLEM". I WAS TOLD BY ANOTHER REP. AT HONDA THAT THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE THEY ARE HAVING WITH THE NEW V6 ACCORDS, AND THE DEALER HAS DONE ALL THEY CAN DO AT THIS POINT, I NEED TO WAIT UNTIL THEY COME UP WITH A SOLUTION AND THEY WILL CONTACT ME. I JUST PAID $25,000 FOR THIS CAR 4 MONTHS AGO AND THEY WANT ME TO WAIT!! MY CAR HAS ALSO HAD OTHER ISSUES, SUCH AS A A LOUD SCRAPING NOISE IN THE GAS PEDAL WHEN FIRST ACCELERATING INT HE MORNING. MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN THE HONDA DEALER WITH PROBLEMS WITH THE FRONT BRAKES(WARPED ROTORS) , AFTER HAVING THE FRONT ROTORS RESURFACED AND PADS REPLACED TWICE IT WAS FOUND THAT THE FRONT CALIPERS WERE HANGING UP.MY CAR JUST TURNED 17K MILES AND IT HAS HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE FRONT BRAKES SINCE IN HAD 8K MILES, AT THAT TIME I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALER THAT I WAS "RIDING" MY BRAKES AND THEY WOULD ONLY TAKE CARE OF THIS PROBLEM FOR ME AT NO COST JUST THIS "ONE TIME". I PURCHASED A NEW 2003 HONDA ACCORD EX-V6 SEDAN ON 7/22/03 AND IMMEDIATELY NOTICED THAT THE CAR PULLED TO THE RIGHT. I RETURNED TO THE DEALER FOR INSTALLATION OF UPGRADED WHEELS (HONDA 16" CHROME...MY EXPENSE). DESPITE CHANGING THE WHEELS, THE SYMPTOM STILL EXISTED. I THEN RETURNED TO THE DEALER AND THEY PERFORMED A FRONT END ALIGNMENT. AFTERWARDS, THE CAR STILL PULLED TO THE RIGHT. I CONTACTED AMERICAN HONDA, AND THEY ASSIGNED CASE NO. N012003-09-05-01198. THEY ACKNOWLEDGED THAT THEY HAD RECEIVED OTHER SIMILAR COMPLAINTS, BUT ADVISED THAT NO "SERVICE BULLETIN" HAD BEEN ISSUED. THIS CONDITION AFFECTS THE SAFETY OF THE VEHICLE. JULY 17, 2003 1847 HILLMONT WAY ROSEVILLE, CA 95661 (916) 786-6696 DEAR AGENCY, A POTENTIALLY LETHAL DEFECT MAY EXIST ON THE REDESIGNED 2003 HONDA ACCORD, AND HONDA MOTORS IS ATTEMPTING TO SWEEP IT UNDER THE CARPET. WITHOUT YOUR IMMEDIATE INVOLVEMENT, THEY MIGHT GET AWAY WITH IT. ON JULY 1, 2003 MY WIFE WAS DRIVING OUR 2003 HONDA ACCORD, WITH 17000 MILES, WITH A PASSENGER. THE DRIVING CONDITIONS WERE EXCELLENT, SKIES WERE CLEAR, ROADS WERE DRY AND TEMPERATURES WERE MODERATE. WHILE TRAVELING AT ABOUT 55 MPH, TWO OF THE SIDE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED APPARENTLY WITHOUT PROVOCATION. TWO SENSORS ACTIVATED TWO SEPARATE AIRBAGS: THE SIDE-CURTAIN AIRBAG AND THE SEAT-CUSHION AIRBAG. FORTUNATELY, NEITHER OCCUPANT WAS HURT BUT MY WIFE IMMEDIATELY PULLED OFF ONTO A SIDE STREET. THEY SURVEYED THE AREA AND NOTICED THAT THERE WERE NO POTHOLES OR ROCKS IN THE ROAD AND APPARENTLY THERE WAS NOTHING ELSE THAT THEY COULD HAVE COLLIDED WITH. THEY ALSO LOOKED FOR DAMAGE TO THE CAR. THERE WAS NONE. COINCIDENTALLY, I WAS CALLING MY WIFE AS SHE WAS PULLING THE CAR ONTO THE SIDE STREET. SHE ASKED WHAT SHE SHOULD DO. I SAID THAT I WOULD MAKE SOME PHONE CALLS AND GET BACK TO HER. AFTER SEVERAL CALLS TO BOTH AUTO WEST HONDA AND HONDA MOTORS, I WAS INFORMED THAT AN AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT WAS NOT CONSIDERED A WARRANTEE PROBLEM AND THEREFORE TOWING WOULD BE OUR RESPONSIBILITY. IN FACT, I WAS ADVISED THAT HONDA HAD NEVER HAD AN AIRBAG DEPLOY WITHOUT BEING IN A COLLISION. THE DEALER?S REPRESENTATIVE, JOHN DAVIS, ADVISED ME THAT, WITH THE EXCEPTION OF HAVING NO AIRBAG RESTRAINTS, THE CAR WAS SAFE TO DRIVE. WE ELECTED TO HAVE MY WIFE DRIVE IT IN TO AUTO WEST. ON JULY 3RD HONDA HAD NOT BEEN ABLE TO DETERMINE IF THE DEPLOYMENT WAS CAUSED BY A COLLISION. I PERSONALLY VISITED AUTO WEST AND TALKED WITH THE SERVICE MANAGER, JOE TABARRACCI, AND WAS ADVISED THAT AS FAR AS HE AND HIS SERVICE TECHNICIANS COULD TELL, THERE WERE NO VISIBLE SIGNS OF A COLLISION.
THE CONSUMER STATED THE BRAKE PADS MADE A NOISE WHEN THEY WERE RELAEASED FROM THE CALIPER AND THE VEHICLE VIBRATED. *AK *JB

FROM START TO THE FIRST SHIFTING OF THE TRANSMISSION, AT LOW SPEEDS, THE SHIFTING IS SLOW AND MAKES YOUR HEAD LURCH FORWARD. AT FASTER ACCELERATION THE TRANSMISISON SHIFTS NORMAL.
KEY IS EXTREMELY HOT AFTER REMOVING FROM IGNITION. THIS HAPPENS IN BOTH HOT AND COLD WEATHER. THE DEALER CHECKED OUT AND SAID THAT IT'S NORMAL. *LA
2003 HONDA ACCORD EX SEDAN WITH 4 CYLINDER. CAR HAS DEVELOPED HIGH IDLE 1800 RPM WHEN STARTING A COLD ENGINE(STARTED AFTER 3500-4000 MILES). CAR WILL ACCELERATE (ACTUALLY JUMPS) TO 20 MPH WITH FOOT OFF THE ACCELERATOR(IT WILL SPIN THE TIRES ON WET PAVEMENT AND WINTER IS AROUND THE CORNER AND CAN ONLY IMAGINE WHAT DRIVING WILL BE LIKE). TAKES OVER +5 MINUTES BEFORE IT REDUCES TO A NORMAL IDLE (APPROXIMATELY 2 MILES WORTH OF DRIVING). THIS IS A REALLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. ALSO EXPERIENCING THE ROTTEN EGG SMELL ENTERING INTO THE DRIVERS COMPARTMENT. THE AIR CONDITIONER (A/C) HAS A SERIOUS VIBRATION WHEN COMING ON THAT HAS HAD SEVERAL PASSENGERS ASK ME WHAT THE NOISE AND VIBRATION WERE. IT'S A SHAME SINCE I HAVE BEEN TO THE DEALER 4 TIMES FOR THESE PROBLEMS AND CAME AWAY WITH THEM MAKING ME FEEL GUILTY AND THAT I'M THE ONLY ONE WITH THESE PROBLEM.
