TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 HONDA ACCORD. WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED AND REMAINED DEPRESSED. THE CONTACT TURNED THE IGNITION OFF AND ENGAGED THE EMERGENCY BRAKES IN ORDER TO BRING THE VEHICLE TO A COMPLETE HALT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 180,000....UPDATED 09/14/16 *BF
THE AIR BAGS LIGHT CAME ON TWO WEEKS AGO AND GOES AWAY AND RETURNS SPECIALLY AFTER DRIVING THE VEHICLE IN A FULL DAY OF DRIVING THE LIGHT COMES UP AND WILL NOT GO AWAY. I TOOK VEHICLE TO THE HONDA DEALER WHERE I PURCHASED IT AND WAS ADVISED THAT THE COMPUTER FOR THE AIRBAGS IS DYING DOWN AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED BUT HONDA WILL NOT FIX PROBLEM. I WAS ALSO ADVISED THAT IF VEHICLE IS INVOLVED IN A FRONT END ACCIDENT THE AIR BAGS WILL NOT WORK. I ADVISED THEM THAT THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND HONDA SHOULD REPLACE AT NO COST BUT THE REPRESENTATIVE JUST SAID IF YOU WANT IT FIXED YOU WILL NEED TO PAY $ 541.00 AND TURNED AROUND AND REQUESTED FOR MY CAR TO BE RETURNED BACK TO ME. I AM REALLY DISAPPOINTED AT HONDA AND ITS PERSONNEL BECAUSE THEY JUST DON'T CARE ABOUT THE PUBLIC LIKE THEY SAY IN THERE TV COMMERCIALS.
CARBON MONOXIDE COMES INTO MY CAR - HONDA REPLACED THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER FOUR TIMES - I WAS ALREADY INJURED FROM MY PRIOR 1990 LEXUS 250ES WHEN MY DANGEROUS AIRBAG EXPLODED POINT BLANK INTO MY NECK AND HEAD. MAT AIRBAG HAD NO TETHER. FIVE C-SPIN SURGERIES AND I WAS NO LONGER ABLE TO WORK AS A SURGEON OR AT ALL. THIS WAS NEVER RECALLED BUT I STILL HAVE THAT CAR. AIRBAGS ARE NOT SAFE. THERE SHOULD BE H-BELTS THAT ARE SAFE. SODIUM AZIDE CAUSES CANCER. REGARDING MY 2003 HONDA - I ALREADY HAD THE AIRBAGS RECALLED THREE TIMES.....I REQUEST PERMISSION TO HAVE ALL AIR BAGS REMOVED TO SAVE MY LIFE. ANOTHER EXPLOSION WOULD KILL ME. NHTSA DEMANDS THAT CHILDREN SIT IN THE REAR AS OUT OF POSITION OCCUPANTS BUT I AM ONLY 5 FEET AND AM ALSO AN OUT OF POSITION OCCUPANT. DOESN'T NHTSA CARE ABOUT SHORT DRIVERS UNTIL 5'4"? I REQUIRE A RESPONSE. BTW I STILL HAVE THE LEXUS DEATH MOBILE. ALSO THE CARBON MONOXIDE CAUSED ME TO GET ILL, FALL ASLEEP AND CRASH. I NEVER HEARD BACK FROM NHTSA FROM MY PRIOR COMPLAINT. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 HONDA ACCORD. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE, THE KEY FAILED TO RELEASE FROM THE IGNITION SWITCH. THE CONTACT HAD TO LEAVE THE KEY IN THE IGNITION WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING. ONE HOUR LATER, THE KEY WAS RELEASED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER, BUT THE PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE REPAIR. A FEW HOURS LATER, THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE COULD NOT BE SERVICED DUE TO ITS AGE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER AGREED WITH THE DEALER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
The contact owns a 2003 Honda Accord. The contact stated that the passenger’s side air bag warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the instrument panel had been replaced, and that the warning light appeared soon after the replacement. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, and the contact was given an estimate for a diagnostic test. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and provided a case number. The contact linked the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V182000 (Air Bags). The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 54,000.
TAKATA RECALL THIS IS MY COLLEGE STUDENT DAUGHTER'S CAR AND WE ARE VERY CONCERNED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 111,680.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TORQUE CONVERTER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 04V176000 (POWER TRAIN). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 142,000.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 200,000.

UPON EXITING THE VEHICLE, BEFORE THE PASSENGER EXITED THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE, SMOKE APPEARED WITHIN THE INNER PART OF THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE DOOR AND A FIRE ERUPTED. MY 2003 HONDA ACCORD IS LISTED IN A DOCUMENT ENTITLED ANNEX A AS A PRIORITY GROUP 1 RECALL FOR BOTH HAH AND NON-HAH. I CONTACTED HONDA AND THEY REFERRED ME TO DEALERSHIP. THE DEALERSHIP, VANDERGRIFF HONDA (817-299-2048) REFUSED TO REPLACE THE AIR BAG AND TOLD ME THE VEHICLE WAS NOT ON THE LIST AND THE AIR BAG WAS PERFECTLY SAFE.

COMPLETE TRANSMISSION FAILURE REQUIRING REPLACEMENT OR REBUILDING OF THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. NOTE, THIS IS A 2003 HONDA ACCORD V6 AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. THE FAILURE OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY UNDER NORMAL CONDITIONS.
THE 3RD GEAR IN MY AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION HAD ALMOST COMPLETELY GIVEN OUT. THE FIRST INCIDENT OF FAILURE WAS WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP. WHEN MY VEHICLE TRIED TO SHIFT TO 3RD GEAR THE GEAR WOULDN'T CATCH AND THE ENGINE REVVED FREELY WITHOUT INCREASING THE SPEED OF THE VEHICLE. I DID RESEARCH ON THIS PROBLEM SPECIFICALLY ASSOCIATED WITH THIS MAKE, MODEL, AND YEAR AND DISCOVERED THE ISSUE TO BE CONSISTENT WITH OTHER REPORTS.
RANDOMLY CAR WILL DOWN SHIFT AND UP SHIFT. SOMETIME YES WHEN I LEFT OFF GAS. SOMETIMES WHEN IT HITS A CERTAIN RPM. THE RPM WILL SHOOT REALLY HIGH AND GO BACK TO NORMAL. ONLY OCCURS WHILE WARM.
MY 2003 HONDA ACCORD EX V6 HAS 110K MILES ON IT. I WAS DRIVING ON HWY 280 AND IT FELT AS IF I HAD SLAMMED ON THE BREAKS AND OR DOWNSHIFTED TO FIRST FROM 4TH. CAR JERKED TWICE. I IMMEDIATELY GOT OFF THE FREEWAY AND THE CAR'S SERVICE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE D LIGHT WAS FLASHING. THE TRANSMISSION HAS FAILED WHICH IS THE ISSUE THAT HONDA HAD WITH THESE CARS. A CASE MANAGER AT HONDA SAID THEY WILL NOT FIX THE ISSUE EVEN THOUGH THE ISSUE IS EXACTLY THE SAME AS THE RECALL.

THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE AIR BAG FAILED TO DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED A NECK INJURY, WHICH DID NOT REQUIRE MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY REMEDIED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V320000 (AIR BAGS). THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 175,000.

THE CONTACT SUSTAINED BROKEN RIBS AND INJURIES TO THE CHEST, BOTH ARMS, AND BOTH SHOULDERS THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED TO A JUNKYARD. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: 14V700000 (AIR BAGS), 15V320000 (AIR BAGS), AND 15V370000 (AIR BAGS). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAG LIGHT DIMMED TEMPORARILY WHEN THE SEAT BELT BUCKLE WAS JIGGLED. THE VEHICLE DID NOT EXPERIENCE ANY ISSUES UNTIL AFTER IT WAS REPAIRED FOR AN AIR BAG RECALL. AFTER BEING SERVICE AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR REPLACEMENT OF TIMING BELT AND DRIVE BELT, THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE INTO DRIVE OR REVERSE. WHEN I PRESS ON GAS PEDAL THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE INTO GEAR WHEN DRIVING AT CITY SPEED OR HIGHWAY MERGING. THE MECHANIC SAID THE TRANSIMISSION IS BAD. THE CAR HAS ONLY 63K MILES. AFTER RESEARCH ON INTERNET, I FOUND THAT THE 2003 HONDA ACCORD V6 HAS THIS PROBLEM BUT HAS NOT RECALL SINCE IT IS NOT A SAFETY ISSUES. WELL, DRIVING AT 70 AND MERGING INTO TRAFFIC AND THE CAR WOULD GO CAN CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. *JS
TAKATA RECALL: AN INDICATOR LIGHT ON THE DASH PERIODICALLY INDICATES A POSSIBLE PROBLEM WITH THE AIRBAG SYSTEM. I NEVER KNOW WHEN IT'S GOING TO LIGHT UP AND IT DOES EVENTUALLY TURN OFF. MY VEHICLE IS NOT ON A RECALL LIST FOR TAKATA AIRBAGS, WHILE I BELIEVE I HAVE TAKATA AIRBAGS. THIS HAPPENS RATHER IN MOTION OR STATIONARY AND SEEMS TO HAPPEN MORE OFTEN IN WARMER WEATHER.
VERBATIM THE SAME TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS AS EVERYONE ELSE. HONDA WAS UNWILLING TO COMPROMISE ON THIS FAULTY PART THAT'S WELL DOCUMENTED, HENCE THE INVOLUNTARY RECALL BY THE NHTSA. WE OFFERED TO WORK WITH THEM BY TRADING THIS MODEL IN FOR A NEWER ONE, TALK ABOUT US WILLING TO FORGET AND FORGIVE FOR BRAND LOYALTY. APPARENTLY HONDA DOESN'T CARE NOT WILLING TO DO EVEN THIS. THIS IS MY FOURTH HONDA AND WILL BE MY LAST. AVERAGE COST OF OWNERSHIP HAS BEEN 1000/MONTH, AT THIS POINT I COULD HAVE GOTTEN THE TESLA I REALLY WANTED.
TAKATA RECALL - DRIVER'S SIDE WAS COMPLETED AT LIA HONDA, ALBANY NY ON 12/16/15. PASSENGER SIDE WAS NOT FIXED - "UNABLE TO DO RECALL. PASSENGER SIDE DOOR WILL NOT OPEN. CUSTOMER IS AWARE..." FIXING THE PASSENGER SIDE FRONT DOOR TO OPEN IS NOT A VIABLE OPTION - TOO COSTLY. PASSENGER SIDE REAR DOOR DOES OPEN AND THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE SEAT COULD BE REMOVED. THIS WOULD PROVIDE ACCESS TO THE PASSENGER SIDE DASH/AIRBAG. WHAT ARE MY OPTIONS FOR HAVING THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG RECALL COMPLETED? WHEN I WAS AT HONDA DEALER FOR FRONT HOOK LATCH CABLE THAT NEEDED TO LOOK AT BECAUSE IT DID NOT OPEN UNLESS TWO PEOPLE DO THAT. I WENT THERE TO REQUEST FOR IT TO ADJUST BUT THEY ADVISE ME TO REPLACE NEW ONE! THEY SHOULD ADJUST TENSION AS IT IS NOT BROKEN YET. SECOND ITEM, THEY ADVISED IS TO REPLACE THE POWER STEERLING RETURNING LINE DUE TO LEAK AND THE ESTIMATE IS $375! I DENIED THEIR SERVICE UNTIL I CHECKED THE RECALL INFORMATION AT HOME. THE INFORMATION POSTED IN 2012 SAYING THAT A GROUP OF HONDA ACCORD 2003 HAS THIS PART RECALL, HOWEVER MY VIN NBR WAS NOT ON RECALL LIST. I REQUEST YOU TO INVESTIGATE BECAUSE I WAS TOLD BY SOMEONE ELSE WITH DEEP KNOWLEDGE ABOUT HONDA AS HE SAID THAT IT IS COMMON THAT HONDA ACCORD 2003 WITH V6 ENGINE HAVING THAT PREMATURE LEAKING. THEREFORE, I BELIEVE MY HOSE IS PREMATURELY LEAK AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED THROUGH RECALL IMMEDIATELY. FOR TIME BEING, I DECIDED TO GO TO NON-HONDA REPAIR SHOP AND THEY REPAIR IT FOR NOW, NOT REPLACE FOR NOW. BECAUSE A GROUP OF HONDA ACCORD 2003 WITH THIS PROBLEM WAS RECALLED IN 2012, I REQUEST YOU TO INVESTIGATE DEMANDING TO HAVE HONDA RECALL MY CAR. IT MADE SOME TYPE OF NOISES. NOVEMBER 30, 2016 THE TRANSMISSION STARTED JERKING AND SLIPPING. ON DECEMBER 1, I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO A REPAIR FACILITY AND A REPAIR WAS DONE. THE NEXT DAY. DECEMBER 2 THE PROBLEM RECURRED AND THE DIAGNOSIS WAS THE TRANSMISSION FAILED. THE FAILURE OF THIS CLASS OF TRANSMISSIONS IS DOCUMENTED THROUGH RECALLS. MY TRANSMISSION AT THE TIME OF RECALL HAD NEW COOLING LINES AND KITS INSTALLED. NO INSPECTION WAS DONE BY CAMERA.
WHILE TRAVELING AT 65MPH THE CAR SUDDENLY DOWN SHIFTED ALMOST CAUSING A UGLY CAR ACCIDENT LUCKLY THE CAR BEHIND ME HAD GOOD REFLECT AND WAS ABLE TO SWERVE OUT OF MY WAY. NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, NO SIGNS OF TRANNY SLIPPING PRIOR TOO JUST A SCARY SITUATION TO BE IN.
THIS 03 HONDA ACCORD HAS A SAFETY RECALL FOR TRANSMISSION 2ND GEAR ISSUES, THIS SAFETY RECALL WAS FIXED IN 04 BUT HAD THE SAME ISSUE AGAIN IN 2015 AND HAS NOW CAUSED THE TORQUE CONVERTER TO FAIL AND STALL ON THE HIGHWAY, TRUCKS AND CAR SPEEDING UP BEHIND US WITH OUR KIDS IN THE VEHICLE, THIS HAS BECOME DANGEROUS AND NO ONE WANTS TO TAKE CARE OF THE PROBLEM SO THAT NOTHING HAPPENS FURTHER, I HAVEN'T HAD THE VEHICLE FOR NO MORE THAN A YEAR.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 HONDA ACCORD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE HESITATED TO START AND MADE AN ABNORMAL NOISE. THE FAILURE HAPPENED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SYMPTOMS WERE THE SAME AS LISTED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 10V364000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. PRIOR TO THIS FAILURE, A SIMILAR FAILURE OCCURRED. THE IGNITION WAS REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 100,000.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE 210 FREEWAY TRANSMISSION DOWNSHIFTED SUDDENLY WITHOUT A WARNING AND RPM SHOT UP TO 6,000 REVS BRINGING THE CAR TO ALMOST A STANDSTILL WITH CARS BEHIND ME GOING AT 70 MPH ALMOST REARENDING MY CAR.
TAKATA RECALL. I GOT INTO AN ACCIDENT BACK IN 2015, AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY.
MY SON WAS INVOLVED IN A SINGLE CAR ROLL OVER ACCIDENT ON 10/10/2015. HE WAS TRAVELING ABOUT 40 MILES PER HOUR WHEN THE ROAD SURFACE CHANGED FROM ASPHALT TO GRAVEL. HE LOST CONTROL OF THE CAR AND THE VEHICLE DID ONE COMPLETE ROTATION LANDING BACK ON ITS TIRES. THE SEAT BELT DID NOT HOLD CAUSING HIS HEAD TO HIT THE INSIDE ROOF OF VEHICLE AND THROWING HIM FROM SIDE TO SIDE AS THE VEHICLE ROLLED OVER. MY SON SUFFERED A L1 BURST FRACTURE, DAMAGING HIS SPINAL CORD, WHICH LEFT HIM A PARAPLEGIC CONFINED TO A WHEELCHAIR . AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY, WHICH DUE TO THE FACT THAT IT WAS A SIDE ROLLOVER, SENSORS MAY NOT HAVE BEEN TRIGGED. THE CAR DID HOWEVER, HAVE DAMAGE TO THE FRONT, LEFT FRONT, LEFT REAR AND RIGHT FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. MY SON WAS 25 AT THE TIME OF THE ACCIDENT.
My son is an approved seatbelt claimant in the Takata Bankruptcy class action suit. (#4842) He became a paraplegic when his 2003 Honda Accord rolled once after encountering a road surface change from asphalt to gravel. His seatbelt pre-tensor failed as did his airbags. His T-13 L-1 spinal cord injury is conducive to seat belt failure. . A bone spur from his vertebre broke off and went into his spinal cord. By the time our head cleared from the whole ordeal, we were one month out of the statue of limitations. (which is 2 years in the state of Colorado) Shortly thereafter we received a card in the mail informing us of the Takata class action suit. We were glad we still had an avenue for an injury claim. Fast forward 4+ years and we have recently found out that the 33 approved Takata seatbelt claimants have $1,140,000 to share amongst themselves. Some claimants lost loved ones from the faulty seatbelt sensors and seatbelt malfunctions. Based on this current fund amount, Lee will likely only receive between 20,000 to 40,000 for his injury. Very little for the inability to walk, go to the bathroom, loss of sexual function and having to deal with consistent nerve pain. I recently became aware of the ZF-TRW Class action complaint and realize the parameters of the nonfunctioning airbag and seatbelt pre-tensor fit the parameters of my sons accident. The Honda Accord 2014-2015 vehicles are listed as having problematic ZF-TRW parts. My sons 2003 Honda Accords ACU was replaced in January/February of 2015. I suspect that the part was replaced with the same ACU used in the new 2014-2015 Honda Accords. Takata seat belt class action suit settlement does not preclude anyone from collecting compensation for injury from another source. My son should have walked away from this accident.
