Odometer Fraud. The contact purchased a 2004 Honda Accord. It was discovered that there was a mileage discrepancy after the purchase. The vehicle was a dealer sale. At the time of the purchase, the mileage was approximately 134,000. The contact stated that while attempting to resell the vehicle, the contact was informed by an individual interested in purchasing the vehicle that the mileage reported might not be the actual mileage. The contact was advised to check the Carfax Report. While checking the Carfax Report, the contact noticed two potential reports of odometer fraud with the vehicle. The Carfax Report indicated that in 2023, the mileage was reported to be approximately 251,000. The contact had not filed a report with any other agencies.
I have 22 recalls in my Jerry app and also on here. Have problems when first starting up and shifting just got from a dealer in Ohio. Maybe a year and a half ago my name is Tracy Harney my address is 702 Inverness place ft thomas Ky 41075 also my air bag light is on and my headlights are not very visible at nite wondering if all recalls on vehicle were fixed. The transmission in my 2004 Honda Accord V6 3.0L is experiencing a serious safety defect. The transmission overheats while driving, begins slipping, and eventually the vehicle will not move at all. When this happens, I lose the ability to accelerate or maintain speed, creating a dangerous situation for me and other drivers. I have to pull over and wait for the transmission to cool before the car will move again. This failure matches the symptoms described in Honda’s prior transmission recall 04V176000 (overheating and gear failure due to lubrication issues). I have contacted Honda about this issue, and they opened Case #16008926, but the problem is ongoing and has not been resolved. The problem is reproducible and happens repeatedly after the transmission warms up. Warning symptoms include overheating and severe slipping before total loss of movement. This is a major safety hazard because the vehicle can suddenly lose power in traffic.
The contact owns a 2004 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while attempting to make a right turn, the air bags deployed independently. No warning lights illuminated. A dealer or independent mechanic was not contacted. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact's fiancé sustained injuries to the face, left eye, causing her to have a black eye, and her chest and the contact sustained injures to left side of his face and his left hand. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The contact was relating the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 18V268000 (AIR BAGS); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The approximate failure mileage was 147,486.
Second gear jumps erratically , loses power and won’t move until you shut the engine off and start again , second gear still jumps afterwards..
Odometer Fraud. The contact purchased a 2004 Honda Accord. The contact stated that upon retrieving the vehicle Carfax history report, it was discovered that there was a mileage discrepancy. The vehicle was a private sale. At the time of purchase, the vehicle mileage was 156,100; however, the Carfax history report indicated that the mileage was 278,000.
2004 Honda Accord V6 178000k miles Car was just driving fine through all gears then out of nowhere as I was driving on the freeway going approximately 65 mph the car violently jerked because the transmission locked up and my car broke like if i pulled the emergency brake almost causing me to crash into another vehicle. The (RPM) then went up to redline. I pulled over restarted the car and as I tried to drive off, the cars (RPM) was way too high for example if I drove 40mph the (RPM) was at 4,000 revolutions witch can cause damage to the engine, If i went 60 mph and the (RPM) was at redline. So I had a friend tow the vehicle. Once home I drove around the neighborhood and the car won't switch gears it stays at 1st gear ( hence the high RPM) and it violently jerks the whole car very badly I'm assuming when it's supposed to switch gears. I got the following codes ( P0741, P0747) I checked all the solenoids with a professional scanner I was able to activate all the solenoids and all passed the test. Every single one clicked and showed they where in good condition. The next day I go drive it and it drives normal through all gears for an hour and then again it starts jerking violently / braking. I then replaced the solenoids and still the same problem. I did some research online and it seems a lot of people have trouble with these transmissions for this year I'm surprised it isn't recalled as it is very dangerous.
My car is beinbtg locked remotely. I do not have a working key fob so it is not anything I am doing. I am having difficulty opening the lock ad well on my car doors. This is very recent
Mechanic states that driver buckle is causing error message concerning air bag deployment on driver side, says belt buckle should be replaced so connectivity will be re-established, to enable air bag deployment. I would think this would be a safety recall, if this is the case.
A/c compressor and some light came on on dashboard
I was driving and the lower ball joints on passenger side broke causing the axle to brake the car lot i got car from said they replaced everything well it happened again and the ball jounts were the same ines that were on there before..Now my rack and opion broke

The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, it was difficult to place the key into the ignition, and it was also difficult to remove the key from the ignition. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or independent mechanic to be diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
Air bag light continues to stay on even after having the recall of the wiring harness replaced. Went to the dealership and had the air bag inflater recall fixed on April 1,2021 the light came on and continued to stay on. On 5/24/2024 I serviced my vehicle at Honda of Cleveland and they stated I had an air bag code stating that my driver side airbag sensor is bad but because they fixed the recall in 2007 they said the air bag itself is faulty but not covered under recall. Just needing this documented in case an incident occurs and the air bag is faulty as indicated by the dealership.
Rear window shattered, spontaneously, parked. Mostly 1/4 to 3/8 inch pieces, no impact center or chips anywhere. Cause UNKNOWN. With slight vibration the rear window fell into the car, except around glued edges, also including tiny slivers. While the shattered rear window held, it created a huge blind spot behind car, which is a large safety problem. Also driving could leave a trail of glass on public streets. Rear window was vacuumed up and replaced by Glass America, who also had no idea why it shattered. Vehicle was inspected and passed by Colorado vehicle inspectors on January 31, 2024. No warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure found on April 13, 2024. Car had not been driven for 10 days, parked.
The honda accord 2004 and close models have an issue with gps control screen that fails to turn on, it keeps getting stocked in one position on which prevents access to air controls as well as gps controls but more important air controls to defog front windshield when in cold weather as driving creating a hazardous condition for the drivers as a potential for accident as the driver attempt to clean windshield but air controls are not accessible on screen, it also controls the radio and maps that are not as important as the air control. Please note that the issue is been present for many years on cars and Honda have not provided a solution just yet as is not a warranty issue instead it will be considered a manufacturers defect that was carried by car owner for the rest of the car life and the challenges presented during the driving on the road unable to access those controls. There are many people complaining about the same issue on these models and have been but a repair have not been offered that I'm aware of it. Once again is not an owners problem or anything that is been caused by car owners instead the part became a defective product. My complain is not about receiving a free product instead receiving assistance on asking the manufacturers to respond to a deflective product provided to consumers and assist with repair and provide parts needed if necessary to correct problem rather that directing consumer to purchase new product that will cost thousands of dollars and not been a consumers fault. One day I was driving on the highway I all of a sudden lost power to acceleration. The rpm went up and I pulled over. Put it back in drive to a lower gear to make it home safe. Never had problems with my car until recently. It seems when I get up over 45mph is when the acceleration gives out.

The contact stated that she had looked down at her lap when she was struck she said the impact caused her to hit the steering wheel with her face. The contact stated that she was rendered unconscious. The contact stated that when she regained consciousness the police and emergency technicians were on scene. The driver of the other vehicle had fled the scene. The contact stated that the air bags had not been deployed. The contact stated that the police had filed a report. The contact stated that the damage to the rear end of her vehicle was so severe that the vehicle had to be towed to an impound lot. The contact was transported to an ER where she was diagnosed with a traumatic brain injury, she had suffered a broken nose and whiplash to her neck. The contact stated that her vision had been impaired and she was losing her sight. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The contact's insurance provider had declared the vehicle a total loss. The failure mileage was approximately 133,000.
UNKNOWN - I have a 2004 Honda Accord which indicates an airbag issue. The seat belt buckles but the light stays on. Many 2004 Accords were in a recall over SRS but my VIN did not show as part of the recall. The dealer says the seat sensor is bad but they are not making the part any longer. What should I do. I guess the maker should replace with a new system.
My 2 door (coupe) has yet to be recalled for the exploding airbag. The sedan was recalled a long time ago. Undoubtedly the airbags are the same in both cars. Why no recall for the coupe? My guess is that the NHSTA applies separate statistical tests to the coupe and sedan as a matter of course--even if it makes no sense when both use the same part. Because so few coupes were made, the statistical threshold for exploding airbags was never reached to trigger a recall. Am I driving a timebomb? Will my death be the one to trigger a recall? I was having problems with my transmission and had a mechanic look at it and I was told there was a recall for 04 Honda accords, i was also told it was very dangerous to drive my car while my transmission wasn’t engaging properly

On Wednesday, JULY 27, 2022, I was riding on the highway and the left side curtain airbag exploded. There was no other vehicles involved, no accident. My left curtain airbag is hanging out my window and I need to get it repaired ASAP and it's affecting my seatbelt in the driver's seat. I need to know if my make and model has a recall for 2004 Honda Accord. For now, I have the curtain pinned to the roof of the car. The airbag just exploded and now there is a red sign on my dashboard with the seatbelt emblem and showing the airbag on the steering wheel.
Several months ago while driving on the freeway, the CEL came on and the engine revved high without any power to the wheels, as if the transmission automatically went into neutral. It eventually went back into gear. The car was subsequently towed back home and is not currently drivable since gears continue to slip.
Automatic transmission. Car stalls out coming to/at stop in drive. Idling is way to high and irregular. Potential for crash.
The rear passenger brake caliper piston seized. It Will not release I have 2 children and that's our only way of transportation..
Please note that my 2004 honda accord ex is been having issues with navigation system turning off by itself as we are driving, we purchased the last update cd orange 2014 and caused the car to do that. the screen goes blanc and controls air system as well as radio and navigation operations, honda was contacted in the past and technician stated to wait for honda for a possible repair or update for software that they were looking for a solution but it has not happened. the air control is an important issue since the car will fog out windows as driving in cold weather and been unable to defog due to lack of access to screen controls is dangerous. To better explain the clock display time can not be changed either and it was explained to me to be controlled by gps system but since software is not recognized or updated those issues can not be corrected. Please assist with these issues with gps-navigation system, it is an issue with software honda related as I have been explained but can not be corrected with out further assistance from honda. Safety recall for second gear. When driving it has a problem shifting in 2nd and out of 2nd gear
I Was hit extremely hard by a semi truck on the driver side of my car when the semi was making a small right turn in the middle lane on Race Street my little car became wedged almost underneath the shield and roof slightly began to get crushed but the AIRBAGS never deployed,when I heard the cracking of the shield i looked back at my children who are and still to this day are terrified! the back tires of the semi is staring them in the face I immediately squeezed out of my seat belt it wouldn't unlock at this point my car is being pulled back and forth from the driver of the semi keeps trying to widening his turn while I'm blowing the crap out of the my horn he still doesn't realize he hit me yet, maybe because his dog is all over the passenger side from him jerking the semi back and forth I grabbed my children and jumped out I was literally stuck between a traffic poll and a nightmare just glad to be Alive (((((AIRBAGS))))never deployed always had problems with this car the water pump the door locks,heater wouldn't shut off,only had the vehicle for a few months to say the least and it broke down a few weeks after purchasing it when I tried reaching the dealership who sold me the car I could never could get an answer
Transmission seems to disengage after 20 minutes of driving and the worse bthong about it is it does it on the highway causing me to pull over shit the car off and wait 5 minutes start it back up put it in the gear and sometimes it doesn't go in the gear it won't go into reverse we'll go in the drive we'll go in the drive 3 won't go in the drive to or one and then I got to shut it off and wait again then I do it all over again and then I'll get driving again and after about 3 minutes 4 minutes it'll do it again and I have to pull over why is it doing this it does it when I'm stopped at a stoplight and when the light turns green I drive and I'll get stuck in the middle of an intersection it'll be in drive but the engine just continues to rev and nothing happens it's scary it's on safe this needs to be a recall this needs to be fixed by Honda s*** it should be obvious that somebody could get killed
DRIVER SEATBELT DOES NOT BUCKLE, PARKING BRAKE MALFUNCTION WITH BRAKE LIGHT ON, AIR BAG LIGHT ON.
FRONT RIGHT SUSPENSION FAILURE RESULTING IN LOSS OF STEERING INPUT. THE FRONT RIGHT WHEEL SEPARATED FROM THE SUSPENSION AND WAS AT 90 DEGREES WHILE MOVING FORWARD. THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION , THE EVENT OCCURRED RIGHT AFTER A U TURN.
CAR SEAT HEATER MADE SEAT START TO BURN
ON OCTOBER 25, 2020, THE BOLT HOLDING THE DRIVERS SEATBELT UNSCREWED ITSELF DURING NORMAL USE, STRIPPED THE BOLT THREADS, AND FAILED. IT APPEARS TO HAVE BEEN IN A POSITION TO FAIL FOR MANY MILES. IF AN ACCIDENT HAD OCCURRED, THE SEATBELT WOULD NOT HAVE WORKED. THE SEATBELT COMPONENTS ARE MANDATED UNDER 49 CFR 571.209. I HAVE ATTACHED PHOTOS OF THE SEATBELT BUCKLE BOLT. I HAVE A SIMPLE SOLUTION TO PREVENT THIS FROM OCCURRING IN THE FUTURE, HOWEVER, I CAN'T SEEM TO FIND ANYONE WHO CARES ABOUT THE TECHNICALITIES. IT WOULD BE GREAT TO SPEAK WITH AN ENGINEER ABOUT THIS. THE HONDA DEALER AND CUSTOMER SERVICE REP WERE WORTHLESS. THEY REFUSED TO SELL ME A REPLACEMENT PART UNLESS I SIGNED A LIABILITY WAIVER. I OF COURSE REFUSED, BECAUSE THEY HAVE THE LIABILITY. I GUESS THEY DIDN'T LIKE IT WHEN I TOLD THEM THEY HAD A LEGAL RESPONSIBILITY TO PROVIDE THE PART AND THAT I DIRECTED THEM TO PICK UP THE PHONE, CALL THE PRODUCTION PLANT, AND HAVE THE PERSON SITTING NEXT TO THE BUCKET OF BOLTS SEND ME A REPLACEMENT BOLT...SO I COULD INSTALL IT MYSELF. I PURCHASED A 7/16-20 UNF BOLT THROUGH MCMASTER CARR AND HAD TO TURN A NEW SHOULDER ON A LATHE. IT'S NOT AS GOOD AS THE PROPER SHOULDER BOLT, BUT IT IS SAFE RIGHT NOW. ARE THERE ANY AVENUES THROUGH NHTSA THAT WOULD ALLOW ME TO PROVIDE A SOLUTION TO HONDA, AND TO GET A PROPER REPLACEMENT BOLT? IT'S A DANGEROUS SITUATION THAT IS LIKELY TO MANIFEST DURING A TRAFFIC CRASH.
SRS LIGHT COMES ON AND SEAT BELT BUCKLE NEEDS TO BE REMOVED AND REPLACED AND STEERING COLUMN NEEDS TO COME OFF TO FIGURE OUT WHY LIGHT CONTINUES TO COME ON. SEEMS LIKE THIS IS HAPPENING TO MANY OTHER 2004 HONDA ACCORDS AND NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED. I'M TOLD MY AIR BAGS WON'T DEPLOY UNTIL IT IS FIXED.
WHILE DRIVING MY CAR AT 60 MPH ON CRUISE CONTROL, IT SUDDENLY STARTED INCREASING SPEED. THEN I NOTICED THAT THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS PRESSED TO THE FLOOR OF MY CAR. THEN I BEGAN TO USE THE BRAKES TO TRY AND CONTROL THE SPEED, BUT THEY DID NOT FUNCTION WELL AT ALL. FINALLY AFTER STRUGGLING IN ON THIS RURAL ROAD, I WAS ABLE TO SLOW IT DOWN, I CALLED 911, THEN I JUST USED THE EMERGENCY BRAKE TO STOP IT BECAUSE I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT ELSE TO DO. ALTHOUGH THIS WAS A TERRIFYING EXPERIENCE, IT COULD HAVE BEEN TRAGIC IF HAD NOT BEEN IN A RURAL AREA WITH VERY LITTLE TRAFFIC. UP TO THAT POINT, THIS CAR HAD BEEN IN EXCELLENT CONDITION LOW MAINTENANCE AND REALLY GOOD CAR, BUT THAT DAY IT WAS SMOKING AND I THOUGHT IT WOULD CATCH FIRE. LASTLY, THE REPAIRS COST $696 WHICH IS MUCH MORE THAN I HAD EVER PAID FOR THIS CAR

THE SRS LIGHT OF MY CAR COME ON AND GOES OFF ALL THE TIME. SOMETIMES WHEN I AM DRIVING, SUDDENLY WILL TURN ON FOR A WHILE. I USUALLY PULL OVER AND TURN OFF THE ENGINEER AND TURN IT ON BACK AND WAIT A FEW. THIS HAPPENS CONSTANTLY, AND I HAVE READ THE MANUAL, THIS HAS TO DO WITH THE FRONT AIR BAGS, AND ACCORDING TO THE MANUAL BOOK CAN BE 'AN ALERT TO A POTENTIAL AIRBAGS, SIDE CURTAIN AIRBAGS, FRONT SEAT BELT TENSIONERS OR THE DRIVER'S SEAT POSITION SENSOR AND THE FRONT PASSENGER'S WEIGHT SENSORS' WE HAVE CHECK IT ALL THE TIME AND IT JUST GOES ON ALL THE TIME AS IT COMES OFF ALL THE TIME. I HAVE GOTTEN TO A POINT THAT CONCERNS ME A LOT.

WAS DRIVING MY DAUGHTER TO SCHOOL IN THE 2004 HONDA ACCORD V6. HEARD A LOUD POP AND IT JUST STOPPED AND REVVED UP IN EVERY GEAR AND WHEN I TRIED PUTTING IT IN PARK IT MADE A LOUD GRINDING NOISE. HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED HOME AND IT HASN'T WORKED SINCE!
AS I WAS DRIVING TODAY ON THE HIGHWAY THE SUNROOF GLASS DETACHED AND FLEW AWAY.
WHEN DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE FOR OVER AN HOUR THE TRANSMISSION BEGAN SLIPPING BUT ONCE I BEGAN DRIVING ON HILLS THE TRANSMISSION WAS NO LONGER CATCHING AND I COULD NO LONGER DRIVE THE CAR. THE ELECTRICAL ISSUE COMES FROM THE WINDOWS NOT RESPONDING IMMEDIATELY TO ME PRESSING THEM DOWN AND THE LOCK BUTTON ON THE REMOTE AND THE LOCK BUTTON ON THE CAR DOOR DO NOT LOCK.
HOW DO I KNOW IF MY AIRBAGS NEED TO BE REPLACED. I WANT TO GIVE THIS CAR TO MY TEENAGE DAUGHTER. PLEASE HELP. *JS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 HONDA ACCORD. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE, A LOUD SOUND WAS HEARD AND THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY STALLED AND WOULD NOT DRIVE FORWARD. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE LOCAL DEALER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 158,000. THE VIN WAS INVALID.
AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT COMES ON RANDOMLY, WHETHER CAR IS HOT OR COLD. READING MANY OTHER SIMILAR COMPLAINTS, IT SEEMS STATISTICALLY IMPROBABLE THAT SO MANY AIRBAG PROBLEMS WOULD OCCUR WITHOUT EXISTENCE OF SYSTEMIC PROBLEM SIMILAR TO MY 2005 ACCORD, WHICH WAS RECALLED. PLEASE ENFORCE SIMILAR SAFETY CONCERN IN THESE SERIES THAT USE SAME AIRBAG PARTS. UNTIL THEN, HONDA WILL NOT INVESTIGATE WITHOUT COSTLY DIAGNOSIS FEE AND AMBIGUOUS EXPENSIVE REPAIR RECOMMENDATIONS. HOPE IT DOESN'T RANDOMLY PUNCH ME IN THE FACE WHILE I'M DOING 70 ON I75!
THIS VEHICLE AND MODEL HAS HAD 2 RECALLS REGARDING AFTERMARKET PARTS IN STEERING WHEELS, HOLES IN LEAKING HOSES AND VALVES AND FIRE HAZARDOUS. THE SECOND ONE IS REGARDING LOW BEAM LIGHTS AND VERY POOR VISIBILITY, INCREASING PROBABILITIES OF A CRASH. I HAVE CALLED AMERICAN HONDA TO HONOR THE REPAIRS OF THIS 2 RECALLS AND THEY DO NOT WANT TO DO IT, BECAUSE THE CAR IS ALREADY 14 YEARS OLD. SO I AM DRIVING A FAULTY VEHICLE, AND TO MAKE MATTERS WORSE I AM ALREADY DISABLE FROM 2 CAR ACCIDENTS (AS A PASSENGER) ONE OF THE RECALLS, THE STEERING WHEEL, WAS ALREADY TAKEN CARE OF IN THE PAST, BUT IT STILL PERSIST NOW AS I BOUGHT IT. 2 LEAKING STEERING WHEEL HOSES. AND THE HEAD LIGHTS HAVEN'T BEEN DONE EVER! MY CAR HAS ALREADY BEEN DIAGNOSED BY A HONDA DEALER SPECIALIST AND AMERICAN HONDA DOES NOT WANT TO ASSUME THE REPAIRS OF THESE 2 RECALLS. AMERICAN HONDA DOES NOT MAKE THEMSELVES RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR OWN FAULTY VEHICLES, PASSED A CERTAIN TIME! WHERE ARE MY RIGHTS??????
WAS INFORMED THAT THERE IS A POWER STEERING FLUID LEAK IN THE VEHICLE. NOTED THAT THERE WAS A RECALL OF HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF 2004 HONDA ACCORDS FOR THIS EXACT PROBLEM BUT TOLD AT DEALERSHIP THAT MY PARTICULAR 2004 HONDA ACCORD WAS NOT INCLUDED. I AM CONCERNED THAT THIS IS THE SAME PROBLEM. OF NOTE, BY 2007 HONDA ODYSSEY HAS ALSO BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH A POWER STEERING FLUID LEAK. MULTIPLE MECHANICS HAVE STATED THAT THIS IS VERY UNUSUAL THAT TWO CARS MADE BY THE SAME MANUFACTURER WOULD BOTH HAVE POWER STEERING ISSUES. BOTH THE ODYSSEY AND ACCORD MODELS HAVE HAD POWER STEERING RECALLS IN THE PAST AND I SUSPECT THAT THESE VEHICLES HAVE SIMILAR ISSUES
MY VEHICLE DIED GOING UP A SMALL HILL FOR NO REASON.... LIKE IT STALLED BUT I HAD TO RESTART THE VEHICLE... ALSO THE STEREO DOESN'T WORK I THINK IT COULD BE ELECTRICAL OR THE IGNITION SWITCH? SEEN ON YOUTUBE I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE THAT THIS IS HAPPENING TO. IT STALLS ALMOST AND DOESN'T PROPEL IN FIFTH AT I HAVE TO DOWN SHIFT AND GO BACK TO 5TH AND TEI AGAIN... SOMETIMES IT WORKS OTHER TIMES I TRY 2 OR THREE TIME TO KEEP IT ACCELERATING. THE HILL THING WAS SCARY. WHAT DID IT MEAN?
