THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A PRIVATE MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS FOUND THAT THE DRIVER'S SEAT POSITION SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED ABOUT THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER 07V001000 (AIR BAGS). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 143,550.

THE CAR WENT CRAZY REVVING UP AND DOWN ON ITS OWN. DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, IT FELT LIKE THE CAR WOULD BE APPLYING THE BRAKES ON ITS OWN ONLY TO REV UP AGAIN BUT FELT LIKE IT WAS ON NEUTRAL, THEN THE GEAR WOULD SHIFT ABRUPTLY. AT THE INTERSECTION, ONCE THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN, THE ENGINE WOULD NOT PROCEED NO MATTER HOW LIGHT I APPLIED THE GAS PEDAL (I DIDN'T WANT TO "DROWN" IT), IT FELT AS IF IT WERE IN NEUTRAL - ONLY TO SPEED UP ON ITS OWN. IT FELT LIKE THE CAR DIDN'T KNOW WHETHER TO SPEED UP OR SLOW DOWN - THE GEARS WOULD JUMP FROM ONE TO ANOTHER ON ITS OWN. HORRIBLE! *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 HONDA ACCORD. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE INSTRUMENT PANEL FAILED TO FUNCTION. AS A RESULT, ALL THE METERS AND GAUGES DISPLAYED INCORRECT READINGS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE CIRCUIT BOARD NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 141,000.
OVER THE PAST COUPLE OF MONTHS THE RED AIRBAG LIGHT WOULD SOMETIMES STAY ON WHILE DRIVING. CALLED LOCAL HONDA DEALER WHO SAID MY 2004 ACCORD WASN'T RECALLED FOR THIS ISSUE BASED ON MY ACCORD'S VIN. I RESEARCHED AIRBAG ISSUE & SAW OTHER HONDAS HAD BEEN RECALLED. I HAVE SEEN ON NHSTA SITE THAT MANY OTHER 2004 ACCORD OWNERS HAVE HAD AN ISSUE WITH AIRBAG LIGHT STAYING ON. THIS MEANS THE AIRBAG WILL NOT WORK IN AN ACCIDENT! IT IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE. I WAS CONCERNED ABOUT MY SAFETY & NEEDED MY CAR INSPECTED. MY CAR FAILED INSPECTION BECAUSE OF THE AIRBAG PROBLEM (CODE 61-10). I HAD SEAT REMOVED & NEW SEAT BUCKLE SWITCH INSTALLED. THIS COST $225.61 TO FIX SO MY CAR WOULD PASS INSPECTION. HONDA RECALLED SOME CARS FOR THE AIRBAG ISSUE IN 2007. HONDA NEEDS TO LOOK INTO THIS & FIX THIS & REIMBURSE THOSE OF US WHO HAVE FIXED IT. *TT
UPON ENTERING THE EXPRESSWAY (FROM THE ENTRANCE RAMP), I ENGAGED THE ACCELERATOR (GAS PEDAL) TO TRANSITION INTO EXISTING TRAFFIC. UPON REACHING AN ADEQUATE SPEED, I QUICKLY BEGAN TO APPROACH A CAR IN FRONT OF ME (THIS WAS DURING MORNING RUSH HOUR). I NEEDED TO APPLY A BIT OF PRESSURE TO THE BRAKES TO REACT TO FLOW OF TRAFFIC - AND UPON TAKING MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE, REALIZED THAT MY CAR WAS STILL ACCELERATING. I QUICKLY REAPPLIED PRESSURE TO THE BRAKES AND TRIED TO USE MY LEFT FOOT TO "UN-JAM" THE ACCELERATOR. I DID NOT LOOK TO SEE WHAT MIGHT HAVE CAUSED THE ACCELERATOR TO STICK, AS I WAS FOCUSED ON THE ROAD IN FRONT OF ME. I THEN APPLIED HEAVY PRESSURE TO THE BRAKES, ENGAGED THE EMERGENCY BRAKE, AND TURNED OFF THE IGNITION. I WAS ABLE TO COAST TO THE SHOULDER WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT - THOUGH THIS COULD HAVE BEEN A VERY SERIOUS INCIDENT UNDER DIFFERENT CONDITIONS OR HAD A DRIVER NOT REACTED IN THE SAME MANNER. *TR
NO FORWARD MOVEMENT IN THE MIDDLE OF HEAVY TRAFFIC. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 HONDA ACCORD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE POWER STEERING HOSE BECAME CRACKED AND WAS LEAKING FLUID. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A PRIVATE MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS CONFIRMED THAT THE POWER STEERING HOSE WAS LEAKING AND NEEDED THE BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURE WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 12V222000 (STEERING). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 166,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 HONDA ACCORD. THE CONTACT STATED THE INTERIOR LIGHTING FAILED WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE SPEEDOMETER BACK LIGHT. WHEN I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAYS, ALL OF THE SUDDEN THE CAR WENT INTO NEUTRAL AND WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. I TRIED TO PULL OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY, AS I TURNED THE TRANSMISSION WENT INTO GEAR AND CAUSING THE CAR TO ACCELERATE TO 50MPH AND HITTING THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME. MY INSURANCE COMPANY FIXED MY CAR AND THEN I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER TO GET THE TRANSMISSION CHECKED OUT AND THEY SAID THE TRANSMISSION IS WORKING AS DESIGNED BY HONDA. I FELT CONFUSED BECAUSE IT WAS NOT WORKING PROPERLY AND THEY CHECKED FOR RECALLS AND FOUND A RECALL ON THE TRANSMISSION WHICH HAD ALREADY BEEN DONE. THEY SAID IF I DON'T FEEL SAFE DRIVING WITH THAT TRANSMISSION THAT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY 5,000 DOLLARS FOR A NEW ONE. I DECLINED THE OFFER AND SAW ONLINE MANY PEOPLE HAD THE SAME ISSUE AS ME. *TR
THE DISPLAY FOR THE CLIMATE CONTROL AND RADIO LIGHT WENT OUT MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE TO SEE WHAT IS HAPPENING AS FAR AS DEFROST AND HEAT EXT.. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AS IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO SEE WHAT IS GOING ON WITH THE CLIMATE CONTROL SYSTEM, AND OUT OF THE WINDSHIELD. THIS NEEDS TO BE A SAFETY RECALL FOR THIS REASON. *TR
IN SPRING 2014 I CONTACTED US GOVT NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION. AT WHICH TIME THEY INDICATED THAT HONDA HAD AN OPEN INVESTIGATION FOR AIR BAGS AUTOMATICALLY DEPLOYING. THE LADY ON THE PHONE TOLD ME TO CALL HONDA AND MAKE I REPORT WHICH I DID. HONDA HAD ME CONTACT THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP WHICH INDICATED THAT IT WOULD BE $395 TO INVESTIGATE THE ISSUE. I GOT BACK OF HOLD OF HONDA & TOLD THEM I WOULD NOT PAY FOR THEM TO INVESTIGATE THEIR AIR BAG ALMOST KILLING MY DAUGHTER, WHEN THE AIRBAG DEPLOYED WHILST DRIVING, NOT HITTING ANYTHING. FORTUNATELY FOR HER, IT WAS A SLOW SPEED WHEN THIS OCCURRED AND SHE WAS NOT HURT. TODAY I STOPPED AT HONDA CORTLAND OH APOSTILAKAS, I DIDN'T GET A WRITTEN ESTIMATE. HONDA WANTS TO CHARGE ME OVER $1600 IN MATERIALS AND AN INDETERMINATE AMOUNT OF WORK HOURS TO PERFORM THE LABOR. AIR BAG DISABLES THE HEATER AND OTHER FUNCTIONS ON THE CAR, THUS IT NEEDS REPLACED OR PROVIDE A SOLUTION TO USE MY CAR AGAIN.
POWER TRAIN SLIPPED AND ENGINE RPM WAS AROUND 2000 RPM THEN RPM WENT UP TO AROUND 5000 WHEN POWER TRAIN SLIPPED. ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. *TR

AT PASSING SPEED THE CAR JUST STOPPED ACCELERATING AND BEGAN TO DROP SPEED SUDDENLY. THE MOTOR REVVED WITH GAS PEDAL PRESSING BUT IT WENT NOWHERE. IT COASTED TO A STOP. NO WARNING. NO STUTTERING. IT JUST DROPPED SPEED AND WENT NO MORE. *TR

ATTEMPTED TO PASS SEMI TRUCK ON A TOLLWAY, WAS IN THE FAST LANE WHEN TRANSMISSION FAILED WITH THE SEMI TO THE RIGHT AND FAST MOVING TRAFFIC BEHIND ME. TRANSMISSION FELT LIKE IT SLIPPED INTO NEUTRAL, EVENTUALLY IT DID GO BACK INTO GEAR LONG ENOUGH TO MAKE IT TO A REPAIR SHOP. ENTIRE REBUILD AT 2700.00. *TR

HONDA IS VERY WELL AWARE OF THEIR FAULT CLEAR COAT PAINT PROBLEMS. MY CAR'S ROOF BEGAN TO DECAY, AND THE CLEAR COAT IN NO LONGER VISIBLE. I WAS LEFT WITH ONLY THE BASE COLOR OF MY PAINT, AND NOW ITS BEGINNING TO RUST AND HOLES ARE STARTING TO APPEAR AND WATER IS LEAKING EVERYWHERE INSIDE MY VEHICLE. I FEEL MY SAFETY IS AT RISK WHEN IT RAINS. I'VE CONTACTED HONDA AND THEY TOLD ME THAT ONLY HONDA ODYSSEY VANS ARE BEING COVER FOR THE FAULTY PAINT. WHY?! WHEN ALL OF YOUR MODELS ARE BEING AFFECTED!!! CIVICS, ACCORDS, CRV YOU NAME IT. YOU HAVE A FAULTY PAINT PROBLEM HONDA AND YOU'RE PUTTING EVERYONE'S LIFE AT RISK. *TR
THE RADIO AND GEAR SHIFT LIGHTS DO NOT ILLUMINATE AT ALL. CD PLAYER EJECTS CD'S IMMEDIATELY UPON INSERTION OF DISC DOES NOT PLAY AT ALL. *TR
THIS IS MY SECOND REPORT OF A TRANSMISSION FAILURE IN MY 2004 HONDA ACCORD. MY TRANSMISSION LOCKED UP AND IN GETTING OVER I WAS HIT FROM BEHIND IN A HIT AND RUN. I HAD TO HAVE IT REBUILT WHEN IT FAILED BACK IN 2010, AND NOW IT IS FAILING AGAIN. I REPORTED THE INCIDENT (10342732) TO THE NHTSA BACK IN OCTOBER OF 2010. MY VIN NUMBER DOES NOT FALL IN THE RANGE OF CUSTOMERS WITH THIS ISSUE; HOWEVER, LIKE MANY THAT PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE DURING THIS TIME...THE TRANSMISSION IS PRONE TO FAILURE. *TR
WHILE DRIVING ON INTERSTATE 74 TRANSMISSION SLIPPED CAUSING CAR TO LOSE SPEED. TRANSMISSION THEN BEGAN SLIPPING IN AND OUT OF GEAR. PENDING COST TO REPLACE TRANSMISSION. *TR
ANOTHER DEATH COULD BE AVOIDED, THIS CAR WAS RECALLED IN 2014 TOO LATE FOR EA DOMINATION OF THE CAR, AND NOW AFTER SPEAKING WITH ATTORNEYS AGAIN THE AIR BARS ARE INVOLVED. OUR SON WAS SO EVICT RATED THAT THERE WAS NOTHING TO DO, PRONOUNCED DEAD AT THE SCENE . EMT'S WERE HELPLESS, HE LOST HIS FACE AND HIS CHEST. NO PROTECTION FROM THIS VEHICLE, PLEAS NOTIFY OTHERS. I WAS DRIVING MY CAR AND MY TRANSMISSION STARTED SLIPPING. I KEEP UP WITH ALL OF THE SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE FOR THIS CAR. I GOT THE TRANSMISSION REBUILT AND NOW LESS THEN 3 MONTHS LATER THE CAR IS STARTING TO JERK AGAIN AND THE DRIVE LIGHT ON THE DASH IS STARTING TO BLINK. I ALSO HAVE THIS ERROR CODE THAT WON'T GO AWAY SAYING THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE FUEL TANK. I GOT THE GAS KNOB CHANGED AND THE ERROR GOES AWAY BUT WHEN YOU HOOK THE COMPUTER UP TO IT, THE CODE STILL COMES UP. THE AIR BAG LIGHT ALSO COMES ON AND OFF WHEN IT WANTS TO. *TR
TRANSMISSION SLIPPING AND DOWN SHIFTING OVERNIGHT. CAUSES ENGINE TO STALL.
I HAD TRANSMISSION FAILURE ABOUT A YEAR AGO, THE TRANSMISSION STARTED TO SLIP AND DIDN'T MAKE ANY SHIFTING, IT WAS DANGEROUS BECAUSE THE CAR STOPED MANY TIME WHILE I WAS DRIVING, SO I DECIDE TO FIX IT , AND YESTERDAY 9/16/2013 IT HAPPENED AGAIN, SAME PROBLEM WITH TRANSMISSION
I PURCHASED MY USED 04 HONDA ACCORD EX V6 FROM MIDLANDS HONDA IN OCTOBER 2007 WITH APPROX. 35,000 MILES ON IT. NEVER HAD ANY REAL MECHANICAL ISSUES AND ALWAYS GOT IT SERVICED BY THE DEALER. LOW AND BEHOLD I RECENTLY ENCOUNTERED AN ISSUE WITH MY TRANSMISSION THAT GAVE ME NO WARNING. I APPEARED TO BE SLIPPING OR SOMETHING, SO I HAD IT SERVICED AND TO NO SURPRISE, IT IS NOT FIXED. THE SHOP HAS ADVISED THAT WITH ONLY 118,000 MILES THAT MY TRANSMISSION IS SHOT. I RESEARCHED A PAST RECALL ON MY VEHICLE AFTER THIS HAPPENED AND FOUND THAT OTHER CONSUMERS HAS THE SAME ISSUE WITH THEIR ACCORDS AND HAD TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION. I FEEL THAT HONDA HAS MISLED THEIR CONSUMERS AND THAT THEIR PRODUCTS ARE NOT LIVING UP TO THEIR MARKETING AND SUGGESTED QUALITY. I USED TO OWN 5 DIFFERENT NISSAN VEHICLES, BUT THE LAST PURCHASE WAS REPURCHASED BY THE DEALER AS A LEMON BECAUSE IT WAS A NEW VEHICLE WITH NUMEROUS ISSUES FROM SUDDEN STALLING TO ELECTRONIC ISSUES, BUT NO RECALLS B/C IT WAS TOO NEW. I LEFT NISSAN AND WELCOMED HONDA INTO MY FAMILY AT THAT TIME, BUT I FEEL THAT MY KIDS AND ARE NOT SAFE. I HAVE TO REPLACE A TRANSMISSION THAT SHOULD HAVE LASTED AS LONG AS MY ENGINE, WHICH RECEIVED HER NEW TIMING BELT AT 100,000 MILES. I MAY BE SUBMITTING MY ISSUE WITH ABSOLUTELY NO RESOLUTION, SINCE HONDA DID AND IS NOT REALLY TAKING RESPONSIBILITY IN THEIR MALFUNCTION. I JUST WANT OTHER HONDA OWNERS TO KNOW THAT THIS PROBLEM WITH THE TRANSMISSION STILL EXISTS AND PROBABLY WILL FOR YEARS TO COME. I GUESS AFTER THIS REPAIR IS DONE, I MAY SEEK TO INVESTIGATE TOYOTA OR EVEN AND AMERICAN MADE CAR. THE AMOUNT OF MONEY IT IS COSTING ME TO REPIAR THIS USED CAR IS SENSELESS AND THE TRANSMISSION ISSUE SHOULD HAVE BEEN CORRECTED A LONG TIME AGO. I PRAY THAT NO ONE GETS HURT OR WORSE FROM THIS PROBLEM. THANKFULLY MY CHILDREN AND I WERE ABLE TO MAKE IT HOME OK.
WHILE I WERE DRIVING LOCALS, I NOTICE A SUDDEN DROP IN SPEED AND SPIKE IN RPM. WHEN I TRIED TO ACCELERATE, ONLY RPM WOULD GO UP AND THE CAR WOULD NOT SHIFT TO HIGHER GEAR. THIS HAPPENED WITHOUT ANY WARNINGS. NO ENGINE LIGHT. NOTHING. IF THIS HAPPENED IN THE FREEWAY, IT WOULD HAVE BEEN VERY SERIOUS SITUATION. I ALSO NOTICED NUMEROUS 2003 2004 HONDA ACCORD OWNERS TO HAVE SIMILAR PROBLEMS. THIS IS DEFINITELY MANUFACTURER'S FAULT. I HAD TO REBUILD THE TRANSMISSION WHICH CAME OUT TO BE $1820. ABOUT A YEAR AGO I NOTICED THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT ON THE DASHBOARD NOW I AM AFRAID TO LET ANYONE SIT IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT IN LIGHT OF THIS NEW INFORMATION ABOUT EXPLODING AIRBAGS.PLEASE KEEP ME UPDATED ON THIS RECALL. THANK YOU. *TR
I WAS DRIVING MY 2004 ACCORD HOME THROUGH THE CITY (SPEEDS OF 30 MPH OR LESS). I HAD GONE ABOUT 5 MILES WITHOUT A PROBLEM. SUDDENLY, I HEARD AN ANNOYING CAR REVVING IT'S ENGINE, ONLY TO REALIZE IT WAS MY CAR! IT FELT AS IF IT WERE SLIPPING AND THEN IT WAS DRIVING AS IF IT WAS STUCK IN FIRST. I COULD NOT GET IT TO GO ABOVE 20 MPH. I COULD NOT PULL OVER DUE TO BIKE LANES AND HEAVY TRAFFIC. EVENTUALLY THE VEHICLE WAS ONLY GOING 15 MPH -- IT WOULD NOT GO HIGHER. I PULLED ONTO A SIDE STREET, PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK, AND COULD NOT GET IT TO MOVE. THEN, SEVERAL WARNING LIGHTS POPPED UP. AFTER RESTARTING THE VEHICLE I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE IT THE LAST MILE OF MY TRIP, STILL IN THE 15-20 MPH. I HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP. THEY INDICATED THE TRANSMISSION NEEDS TO BE REPLACED TO THE TUNE OF $5450. I HAD NOT HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE TRANSMISSION PRIOR TO 8/29/13 AND I HAD KEPT UP ON ALL REGULAR MAINTENANCE. IN FACT, I'D ALWAYS TAKEN IT TO THE DEALERSHIP. I NEVER RECEIVED ANY INFORMATION ABOUT A RECALL FOR THIS PART (ALTHOUGH I DID RECEIVE ONE FOR THE POWER STEERING HOSE). AFTER 8/29/13, I READ THAT SEVERAL HONDA MODELS (INCLUDING THIS ONE) WERE RECALLED FOR TRANSMISSION DEFECTS. THE DEALER AND AMERICAN HONDA ARE CURRENTLY ALLEGING THAT MINE WAS NOT PART OF IT, BUT IT APPEARS THAT IT WAS.*JB
AUGUST: 1ST. DRIVING HOME SHIFTED INTO 1ST GEAR TO GO FROM A STOP LIGHT. CAR HESITATED, BEGAN TO GO REAL SLOW EVEN WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE. PUSHED GAS PEDAL ALL THE WAY TO FLOOR CAR DID NOT GO ANY FASTER. RPM WERE REVVING UP AS IF THE CAR WAS GOING FASTER. WENT INTO 2ND GEAR....THE SAME. CHECK ENGINE AND TCS LIGHT WAS ON. TURNED OFF CAR 15MIN LATER THE TCS LIGHT WAS OFF BUT CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS STILL ON. STAYED ON FOR ABOUT 2 DAYS. GOT CODES CHECK, IT STATED IT WAS ALL MISFIRES. 300-306. RESET. SEPTEMBER: ON THE 15 FWY SOUTH ON A SUNDAY IN SEPTEMBER WITH MY MOTHER AND KIDS GOING AROUND 70MPH IN FAST LANE. CAR THEN LOST POWER INSTANTLY. WENT DOWN TO 40MPH CAR BEGAN TO JERK AND SPUTTER. HAD TO PUT ON HAZARD LIGHT AND GET OFF FWY AS SAFE AS POSSIBLE. VERY DANGEROUS!!!!! STOP AND CALLED AAA. ENGINE CODES READ AGAIN. CODES WERE: PO300, PO3001, PO302, PO303, PO304, PO305, PO306,.P2138. SHUT OFF CAR WAITED 30MINS AND CAR DROVE FINE AND TCS LIGHT WENT OFF, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WENT OFF LATER. TOOK CAR TO HONDA SPECIALIST AND THEY SAID IT WAS THE MISFIRE OF 1ST COIL SPRING. GOT THAT REPLACED ALONG WITH FUEL INJECTION CLEANING AND OIL CHANGE. NOVEMBER-JANUARY: CAR RUNNING SLUGGISH. HONDA DEALER SAYS NOTHING IS WRONG. TAKING OFF SLUGGISH. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT FLASHES ON AND OFF FROM TIME TO TIME. FEB 13TH DRIVING HOME ON 210 FWY EAST AT 8:30P. GOING 70MPH IN 6THE GEAR CRUISING AND CAR INSTANTLY LOOSES POWER AGAIN TO 30 MPH. MAKING CARS SWERVE AROUND ME. HAD TO PULL OFF FWY VERY SLOW WITH HAZARD LIGHTS ON. CAR BEGAN TO SPUTTER AND JERK. FEB16. CHECK ENGINE AND TCS LIGHT TURNED ON WHILE STOPPED AT STOP LIGHT. CAR LOST POWER AND SLOWLY TURNED INTO INTERSECTION. PULLED OVER. THIS IS NOW BECOMING A SAFETY HAZARD FOR MY SON AND I AND NO ONE CAN GIVE US ANSWERS AND KEEP FIXING THINGS THAT AREN'T FIXING THE PROBLEM. PLEASE HELP! *TR
THE GEAR SHIFT RELEASE "BUTTON" DISLODGED FROM THE SHAFT SO YOU WERE UNABLE TO SHIFT INTO A GEAR- IT JUST FELL OUT, NEVER SEEMED LOOSE. WHEN I HAD THE PROBLEM CORRECTED I WAS TOLD BY HONDA THAT THIS PROBLEM IS VERY PREVELANT IN THE 2004 ACCORD (V-6) AND THAT THEY SELL MANY OF THESE GEAR SHIFT "BUTTONS" A WEEK! THAT TELLS ME THAT THERE IS A SYSTEM-WIDE PROBLEM WITH THIS ALTHOUGH I HAVE NEVER RECEIVED A NOTIFICATION. *TR
I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND NOTICED THAT MY RPM INCREASED ALL OF THE SUDDEN. AFTER MY RPM INCREASED MY VEHICLE STARTED JERKING AND WAS NOT RESPONDING. THE TRANSMISSION STARTED SLIPPING INTO NEUTRAL. I MANAGED TO GET HOME DRIVING 10 MPH. I HAVE LOOKED ONLINE AND THIS IS A MAJOR ISSUES WITH THESE CARS! HONDA NEEDS TO RECALL THESE TRANSMISSIONS! *TR
WHEN I ATTEMPTED TO SHIFT THE VEHICLE OUT OF PARK AND INTO GEAR THE SILVER GEAR SHIFT KNOB BROKE OFF. I SUPER GLUED IT BACK TOGETHER IN ORDER TO SHIFT GEARS TO GO TO STORE TO GET NEW PART. IT LATER FELL OFF AGAIN AND MULTIPLE PIECES CAME OUT OF THE OPENING. THE GEAR SHIFT KNOB BROKE INTO ABOUT 7 TO 10 PIECES. HAD TO STICK MY FINGER INTO OPENING IN ORDER TO PUSH THE SHIFT MECHANISM DOWN TO GET IT OUT OF PARK. SPOKE TO LOCAL HONDA DEALERSHIP AND THEY REPORTED THEY KEEP THOSE PARTS IN STOCK FROM ABOUT 03 TO 05 BECAUSE FOR SOME REASON ALOT OF THOSE ARE BREAKING. HE WAS ABLE TO TELL ME THAT WITHOUT LOOKING UP THE PART NUMBER. *TR
WE EXPERIENCED A TRANSMISSION FAILURE WHILE DRIVING ON I-77 IN WEST VIRGINIA. THE TRANSMISSION ALL OF A SUDDEN BEGAN SPEWING TRANSMISSION FLUID, AND STARTED TO SLIP WHIL DRIVING UP A HILL. WE HAD TO FRANTICALLY GET OUT OF THE WAY OF A TRACTOR-TRAILER, BUT IT WAS DIFFICULT BECAUSE THE TRANSMISSION WAS SLIPPING AND THE CAR HAD NO POWER. *TR

I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FOR MY 2004 HONDA ACCORD. I WORK VERY LONG DAYS AND HAVE VERY LITTLE TIME TO GET THIS RECALL COMPLETED. THE PROBLEM IS THAT THE CLOSEST AUTHORIZED HONDA DEALER IS 70 MILES AWAY. THIS MAKES GETTING THE WORK DONE VERY DIFFICULT. IN 2004, THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 04V176000 (POWER TRAIN). THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED FOR RECENT FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE DEFECT. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 136,000.

I WAS PULLING INTO A PARKING SPACE IN A PARKING GARAGE. WHEN I WAS ABOUT 3/4 OF THE WAY INTO THE PARKING SPACE, I PUT MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE. APPARENTLY MY FOOT SLIPPED OR I HAD PUT IT ON THE GAS PEDAL INSTEAD OF THE BRAKE. MY CAR SURGED INTO THE CONCRETE WALL ABOUT 5 FEET IN FRONT OF ME AS I PUSHED HARDER ON THE GAS PEDAL BECAUSE I THOUGHT I WAS PUSHING THE BRAKE. NONE OF MY 8 AIRBAGS WENT OFF AND I DO NOT BELIEVE THAT MY SEAT BELT TIGHTENED ITS TENSION AT IMPACT. I SUFFERED A SHATTERED PATELLA, 3 BROKEN TOES, A BRUISED STERNUM AND A BLACK EYE. IF THE AIRBAGS AND SEAT BELTS HAD WORKED PROPERLY I BELIEVE MY INJURIES WOULD BE LESS SEVERE AS THEY WOULD HAVE KEPT ME FROM FLYING FORWARD AT IMPACT. THE IMPACT WAS STRONG ENOUGH TO CRACK THE TRANSMISSION CASE, BREAK ONE ENGINE MOUNT, BREAK THE AIR CONDITIONER, DESTROY THE BUMPER AND HOOD AND CAUSE REPAIRABLE DAMAGE TO THE QUARTER PANELS. YOUR CRASH TEST REPORTS AND HONDA'S SAFETY INFORMATION DO NOT SEEM TRUE TO ME DUE TO MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE.
THE CAR PULLS WHEN EASING OFF GAS OR COMING OFF BRAKES. TOOK THE CAR TO A MECHANIC AND HE STATED THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE TRANSMISSION INTERNALLY. CALLED HONDA HOME OFFICE AND STATED I WAS AWARE OF PROBLEMS THEY WERE HAVING WITH THE 1999 TO 2005 MODELS AND THEY STATED THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO. *TR
I STARTED UP MY CAR AFTER BEING PARKED FOR ABOUT 2 HOURS IN NORMAL CONDITIONS AND THE LCD DISPLAY FOR THE RADIO/CLOCK/AC/HEAT/VENTS ETC DID NOT LIGHT UP. I'VE HAD IT CHECKED AND THE ONLY SOLUTION IS AN EXPENSIVE ONE. ONE REPAIR PLACE ALSO TOLD ME THAT THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING TO A LOT OF HONDA'S LATELY. *TR

CAR JUST SHUT OFF WHEN I STEPPED ON THE BRAKE. HAD TO RESTART THE CAR AND IT RAN FINE UNTIL I HIT THE BRAKES AGAIN. NOW IT SHUTS OFF OR STALLS WHENEVER I USE THE BRAKES, TURN SIGNALS, HEAD LIGHTS, AND HIGH BEAM LIGHTS. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WILL FLASH RAPIDLY AND GO OUT SOMETIMES. *TR
