While driving down street, both curtain airbags deployed sporadically with absolutely no cause. I was not hit anywhere and I was not even using my brakes or slowing to a stop. My head got smashed in and my view was completely obstructed. I was able to pull off road to safety.
I was ran off the road by another driver on March 8, 2024. I honked so that they would know I was there and then swerved as they continued to come towards me. As this happened, I lost control of my vehicle and it fishtailed on the highway, doing a complete 180° and going from 70 mph to 0 mph as I crashed into a concrete barrier on the shoulder of the road. The airbags did not deploy. My car will likely be totaled and because of its age, we will not keep it. It will not be available for inspection. My safety was put as risk because my airbags did not deploy. Thankfully, in this instance, I was not harmed but I could’ve been. The problem was not confirmed by the dealer. The vehicle was inspected by police and is currently undergoing inspection by insurance. There were no warning signs of this failure.
The contact owns a 2006 Honda Accord. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the air bag warning light was illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V501000 (Air Bags) but the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 85,000.
The left passenger seatbelt will not retract - supposed to be a lifetime warranty and as a result airbag indicator light is on, so I take it to the dealer and they tell me seatbelts are on back order and they said it could be months or even years before I get a seatbelt and there is no ETA for it to arrive. So now, I have to drive the vehicle with no seatbelt and non-working airbags risking tickets or worse loss of life. This is unacceptable. What is the point of a lifetime warranty .
The 2006 Honda Accord VP Sedan was hit in an intersection by a Van that was trying to speed through a red light. The van hit the Accord on the front of the car, which spun the Accord causing it to hit the van again in the rear passenger side. The Accord has 6 airbags, but none of them went off. It appears that the front airbags should have went off, and possibly the passenger side airbags. I contacted Honda about the issue, but they insisted that I follow the direction that the insurance company determined.
Brought my 2006 Honda Accord at Scott Robinson Honda Service Center and was told I would have pay for the airbags..
The contact owned a 2006 Honda Accord. The contact stated that her son was driving approximately 65 MPH. The contact's son lost control and rolled the vehicle. The contact's son was knocked unconscious due to the vehicle had rolled about 10 times, according to the police report. The police reported that the air bags failed to deploy. The son was transported by ambulance to the ER. The son had suffered a concussion and had multiple small lacerations on both arms and face. The contact's son had suffered severe bruising on his chest, legs, and arms from the effects of rolling the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to an impound lot and declared a total loss by the contact's insurance provider. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 236,000.
While exiting a grocery store parking lot the honda accord 2006 air bags malfunctioned and deployed. The honda accord 2006 'did not' strike a vehicle, a vehicle 'did not' strike the honda accord 2006, the honda accord 2006 'did not' strike any object in the parking lot, no object in the parking lot caused any friction with the honda accord 2006 to make the air bags deploy. After reviewing the damages which occurred from the deployment of the air bags; the driver's air bag is hanging out, the passenger's air bag is hanging out, the dome lights have been knocked down from the ceiling, the wind shield has 4 cracks in it. At this time myself and the passenger are noticing a ringing in our ears. I myself have a tiny split in my lower lip. When the incident took place an individual came to the honda accord 2006 to ask if things were ok. The individual states, "I heard a pop!! So I came to check things out." Today is 4/3/2022, the incident took place around 3pm. With today being sunday honda is closed. No call was able to be made to ask questions or file a report.

I FILED A RECALL CLAIM WITH AMERICAN HONDA. THE CASE NUMBER IS 11536174. THIS WAS FOR A RECALL ON THE AIRBAGS. ALSO, THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE TRANSMISSION. THE TRANSMISSION STALLS AND DECELERATES WHEN GETTING ABOVE 25 RPM. AMERICAN HONDA SAID THIS ISSUE WAS A RECALL BUT APPEARED TO BE "FIXED" A FEW YEARS AGO. BUT SINCE THIS IS AN ONGOING PROBLEM, I WAS ASSURED IT WOULD BE FIXED. JASON, AT THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT TOLD ME IT WOULD BE "TAKEN CARE OF" BUT THEN, TRIED TO BILL ME $150 FOR "DIAGNOSTIC" FEES PLUS THEN TOLD THE PARTS AND LABOR WOULD BE AN ADDITIONAL $800.WE WERE GIVEN A RENTAL CAR. ABOUT AN HOUR AN 20 MINUTES AFTER DROPPING OFF THE CAR, WE WERE CALLED TO SAY THE CAR WAS READY. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WAS DONE. THE GLOVE COMPARTMENT WAS STILL LOCKED. THEY WOULD HAVE HAD TO UNLOCK IT TO MAKE THE AIRBAG REPAIR. AMERICAN HONDA TOLD ME THE ENTIRE CANISTER IN THE AIR BAG AREA HAD TO BE REPLACED AS WELL AS NEW AIR BAGS INSTALLED. MISLTIN HONDA SCREWED US! THEY ALSO SAID THESE 2 REPAIRS WOULD TAKE 6 HOURS. THEY FRAUDULENLY BILLED AMERICAN HONDA FOR 6 HOURS AND DID NOTHING! THEY WERE INSTRUCTED TO PROVIDE PROOF OF THE OLD PARTS TO SHOW ANYTHING WAS DONE! MY CAR REMAINS UNSAFE TO DRIVE, POTENTIALLY CAUSING THE AIRBAGS TO NOT DEPLOY AND THE TRANSMISSION TO STALL, CAUSING A CRASH! I'D LIKE MY SERVICE TO BE TAKEN CARE OF BY HONDA IN MANTECA, PLEASE. MISSION ALSO BILLED AMERICAN HONDA FOR OUR RENTAL. THERE WAS ALSO A RECALL ON SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE GAS PEDAL..A PART OR COMPUTER ISSUE.
DRIVER SEAT POSITION SENSOR HARNESS IS DAMAGED. THIS IS THE SAME ISSUE AS NOTED IN 2004 TO 2005 RECALLED ACCORDS. *TR
BAF IS GONE
MY PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAGS SPONTANEOUSLY DEPLOYED DURING MY MORNING COMMUTE. THERE WAS NO COLLISION, NO POTHOLE, NO BUMP, AND NO SUDDEN STOP. THERE WAS NOTHING OUT OF THE ORDINARY. THE SUDDEN EXPLOSION CAUSED ME TO SWERVE INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC ON A BRIDGE, BUT THANKFULLY, NO ONE WAS INJURED.
ALREADY REPLACED ONCE NOT ITS UP AGAIN FOR REFIT
I TOOK MY CAR FOR THE RECALL AND NOW THE AIRBAG SENSOR LIGHT COMES ON AND OFF AND OCCASIONALLY WILL STAY ON. I TAKE IT BACK TO THE SAME DEALERSHIP WHO CHARGED ME $150 FOR DIAGNOSTIC TO SAY IT'S A SHORT OR SOMETHING NOW IN THE SAME PASSENGER AIR BAG THEY INSTALLED. IT WILL COST $300 TO FIX. SEEMS LIKE OTHERS ARE HAVING THIS ISSUE SO IS THIS A SCAM? THIS NEEDS TO BE CORRECTED AND I NEED A REFUND OF THE MONEY I'VE PAID.
VEHICLE RECALLED ON TWO OCCASIONS AND SERVICE PERFORMED BOTH TIMES BY HONDA DEALER FOR TAKATA AIRBAG PROBLEM. AIRBAG LIGHT ON DASHBOARD IS CONSTANTLY ILLUMINATED INDICATING A PROBLEM WITH THE AIRBAG SYSTEM. PROBLEM HAS PERSISTED DESPITE RECALL SERVICE. HONDA ACKNOWLEDGES SYSTEM IS NOT FUNCTIONING BUT WILL NOT ACCEPT ANY RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS ISSUE. LIGHT REMAINS ON WHENEVER VEHICLE IS RUNNING INDICATING THAT AIRBAG SAFETY SYSTEM IS NOT OPERATING PROPERLY. LAST RECALL PERFORMED
I DO NOT OWN THE CAR IT WAS TRADED IN TO A DEALERSHIP 4 YEARS AGO.
AIR BAG LIGHT SHOWING ON DASHBOARD AND CAN NOT PASS INSPECTION

THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY AT THE RICK CASE HONDA COLLISION CENTER IN WESTON, FL (JUST OUTSIDE FORT LAUDERDALE). THE LOWER AIRBAG IN THE SEAT BELT HOLDER DEPLOYED AND SOMETHING CUT THE DRIVER'S ARM.
THE AIRBAG LIGHT ( ON DASH) IS ON, SOMETIMES IT GOES OFF THEN COMES BACK ON
