WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES - THERE IS A REALLY BAD VIBRATION/PULSING IN THE STEERING WHEEL AND BRAKE PEDAL. THE CAR IS A 2008 HONDA ACCORD EX-L WITH 19,000 MILES. DEALER WANTS TO REPLACE ROTORS .......... CAR IS OUT OF WARRANTY !!!!! LOOKS LIKE A KNOWN PROBLEM ONLINE FOR THE 2008-2010 HONDA ACCORD . CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT WAS SETTLED FOR MILLIONS OF DOLLARS. BUT THE DEALER SAID THEY WERE NOT AWARE OF ANY PROBLEMS OR COMPLAINTS FOR BRAKES .... I AM GOING TO REPLACE PADS AND ROTORS ON FRONT AND BACK .... WITH TOP SHELF PARTS NOT CHEAP ASS HONDA PARTS !!!! *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 HONDA ACCORD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER A PASSENGER EXITED THE VEHICLE, THE DRIVER'S SIDE AIR BAG DEPLOYED INADVERTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS BUT NO CAUSE FOR THE FAILURE WAS DETERMINED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
WHEN ACCELERATING TO MERGE INTO HIGHWAY TRAFFIC, CAR UNCONTROLLABLY RAPIDLY ACCELERATES AND REVS UP TO 5000 RPMS. BRAKING NO MATTER HOW HARD, NOR PUMPING BRAKES DID NOT STOP CAR - MAY HAVE PREVENTED IT FROM GOING FASTER, HOWEVER; BUT REVS REMAINED HIGH. ONLY WAY TO REGAIN CONTROL WAS TO SWITCH TRANSMISSION TO NEUTRAL AND THEN BACK TO DRIVE. WHEN PROBLEM FIRST OCCURRED, RAPID PUMPING OF BRAKES DECELERATED CAR AND ALLOWED TO REGAIN CONTROL; HOWEVER, BRAKE PUMPING DID NOT WORK RECENTLY. PROBLEM IS INTERMITTENT AND THUS, DEALER COULD NOT REPLICATE EVEN WHEN COMPLAINT OCCURRED DURING FIRST YEAR OF OWNERSHIP - AND IN FACT, DID NOT RECUR FOR MORE THAN 1 YEAR AFTER WARRANTY EXPIRED. *TR
CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WENT ON. GOT CAR SERVICED AND GENERAL MAINTENANCE. CAME BACK ON. MECHANIC COULDN'T FIGURE IT OUT BUT FOUND VDAP CODE. OVER $1000 IN REPAIRS AND CHECK-ENGINE LIGHT KEEPS COMING BACK ON. NO ONE CAN FIGURE OUT WHY THE VDAP CODE KEEPS REAPPEARING AND CHECK-ENGINE LIGHT HAS BEEN REAPPEARING FOR ONE AND HALF YEARS. *TR
REAR BRAKES FAILED AT 21,000 MILES. WE PURCHASED THE CAR NEW AND HAVE VERY LOW MILEAGE. THE REAR BRAKES NEEDED TO BE COMPLETELY REPLACED. *TR
INTERMITTENT SUDDEN UNCONTROLLED ACCELERATION. WHEN MERGING INTO HIGHWAY TRAFFIC OR PASSING, VEHICLE CONTINUOUSLY ACCELERATES EVEN WHEN NO BRAKING; REVS GO UP TO 5000 AND STAYS THERE EVEN WHEN STOMPING ON BRAKES IN ATTEMPT TO SLOW THE VEHICLE DOWN. ONLY WAY TO STOP THE SUDDEN ACCELERATION IS TO PUT CAR IN NEUTRAL. DUE TO INTERMITTENT NATURE OF PROBLEM, DEALER COULD NOT FIX DURING WARRANTY PERIOD. SCHEDULED DEALER APPOINTMENT TWICE IN 2011 AND 2013, BOTH TIMES PROBLEM COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. *TR
RIDING DOWN THE ROAD AND MY 12 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER GOT TANGLED IN THE SEAT BELT. WE PULLED INTO A GAS STATION AND TRIED TO GET THE SEAT BELT TO RELEASE- IT WOULD NOT RELEASE. IT KEPT EATING ANY SLACK WE GAVE IT AND KEPT TIGHTENING ON HER. IT GOT TO THE POINT WHERE SHE, NOR I (BECAUSE OF THE POSITION) COULD HOLD HER BODY WEIGHT UP ANY MORE- IT WAS STARTING TO CUT INTO HER SIDE. I YELLED CAN ANYONE HELP WE NEED TO CUT A SEAT BELT AND THANK GOODNESS A YOUNG MAN CAME OVER AND WAS ABLE TO CUT THE BELT OFF. I THEN TOOK THE CAR TO THE HONDA DEALER WHO REPLACED THE BELT AND FILED A COMPLAINT WITH HONDA ABOUT THE SEAT BELT- THEY TOOK THE COMPLAINT- HOWEVER THEY REFUSED TO TELL ME ANYTHING ELSE. A SUPERVISIOR FROM HONDA CUSTOMER SERVICE- STATED THAT THE SEAT BELT WOULD BE LOOKED INTO AND THAT I SHOULD HEAR IF IT WAS MALFUNCTIONING OR WHAT CAME OF THE INSPECTION OF WHY THE BELT LOCKED UP. I CALLED TODAY 3/23 TO FOLLOW UP WITH HONDA SPOKE TO ANOTHER SUPERVISIOR - HE TOLD ME THAT THE PART WAS UPSTAIRS IN A BOX AND THAT THEY DO NOT OPEN OR TOUCH THE BELT. THAT BECAUSE IT WAS UNDER WARRANTY THEY JUST KEEP IT, HE SAID HE WOULD LOOK INTO IT AND CONTACT ME...I WAIT ... MY ISSUE IS WHY DID THIS HAPPEN- I KNOW SEATBELTS ARE TO PROTECT US BUT THIS WAS DANGEROUS- THERE WAS NO WAY TO RELEASE THE BELT OTHER THEN CUTTING IT. SAFETY ISSUE ESPECIALLY FOR CHILDREN. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 HONDA ACCORD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE REAR WHEELS BEGAN TO SHAKE VIOLENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS NO WAY TO ADJUST THE REAR ALIGNMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS ALSO ADVISED THAT THE UPPER AND LOWER CONTROL ARMS, AS WELL AS THE KNUCKLE WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
I PURCHASED MY 2008 HONDA ACCORD BRAND NEW AND I HAVE HAD NO ACCIDENTS. APPROXIMATELY 1 WEEKS AGO MY SRS LIGHT REMAINED ON AFTER STARTING MY ENGINE AND HAS REMAINED ON SINCE. I TOOK MY VEHICLE IN FOR AN INSPECTION TODAY AT MY LOCAL HONDA DEALERSHIP AND THEY TOLD ME THAT IT DETECTED A CODE IN WHICH THERE WAS AN INTERNAL FAILURE OF THE SRS UNIT. THIS WOULD REQUIRE ME TO REPLACE THE UNIT AT A COST OF $402.78 AS THIS WAS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. HOW CAN A VEHICLE THAT IS 5 YEARS OLD AND NO PRIOR ACCIDENTS ALREADY HAVE A SYSTEM FAILURE REGARDING THE AIRBAGS? I FEEL THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE, I HAVE HAD NO ACCIDENT, THE SRS UNIT SHOULD CARRY A LIFETIME WARRANTY. *TR
BACK IN AUGUST I TOOK MY CAR TO SOUTHEASTERN HONDA DEALER LIKE I ROUTINELY DO TO HAVE MY OIL CHANGED. IT WAS SUGGESTED BY SERVICE REP TO CHANGE MY TRANSMISSION FLUID, WHICH I DID. ON MY WAY HOME FROM WORK ONE NIGHT MY ENGINE LIGHT STARTED FLASHING AND MY CAR WAS DRIVING LIKE IT IS GOING TO SHUT OFF. I TOOK MY CAR TO THE DEALER AND THEY HOOKED IT UP TO A MACHINE AND SAID IT WAS 2 OF MY SPARK PLUGS, IT'S A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE ACCORDS V6 SO IT'S BEST TO CHANGE ALL OF PLUGS WHICH I AGREED TOO AND THIS WILL SOLVE THE PROBLEM. ON 2/7/13 I TOOK MY CAR TO SOUTHEASTERN HONDA FOR MY ROUTINE OIL CHANGE AND AGAIN THE SERVICE REP SUGGESTED MY POWER STEERING FLUID AND BRAKE FLUID NEEDED TO BE CHANGED WHICH I AGREED TOO. ON MY WAY HOME THE VSA, BRAKE LIGHT AND ABS LIGHT CAME ON IN THE CAR. AS SO AS I WAS ABLE TO I TOOK IT BACK TO SOUTHEASTERN HONDA, THE SAME SERVICE REP SAID THEY HOOK IT UP AND IT WAS THE SPARK PLUGS WHICH WAS CHANGE BACK IN AUGUST AND IT SHOULD NOT BE OCCURRING BECAUSE ALL THE PLUGS WERE CHANGED AND IT'S A DEFECT IN THE ENGINE. HE WILL SPEAK WITH THE GOOD WILL HONDA PERSON BECAUSE THE CAR NEEDS AN ENGINE. HE CALLED BACK A COUPLE OF DAYS LATER AND SAY IT'S THE ENGINE AND I WILL BE REQUIRED TO PAY HALF FOR THE ENGINE. I LEFT MY CAR AT THE DEALER FOR A WEEK, PAID A FEW DOLLARS SHORT OF $3000.00 DOLLARS AND MY ENGINE VSA, BRAKE AND ABS LIGHTS IS STILL COMING ON. I GOOGLED THIS PROBLEM AND ALOT OF THE HONDAS HAVE THIS PROBLEM. I WILL LIKE TO KNOW WHAT IS THE STATUS OF THIS PROBLEM. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 HONDA ACCORD. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH ON ICE, THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE SLID AND CRASHED INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE CONTACT AND THE OCCUPANT OF THE OTHER VEHICLE SUSTAINED UNKNOWN INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED IN A SUBSEQUENT CRASH. THE SPECIFICS OF THE REPAIRS WERE NOT AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 54,000.
I HAVE HAD IT WITH THIS CAR. AND I HAVE HAD IT WITH HONDA. WE PURCHASED THIS CAR AROUND FEBRUARY OF 2013, AND IT DIDN'T TAKE ME A WEEK TO START FEELING THIS SHARP PAIN IN MY BACK. IT WAS AT THAT TIME THAT I REALIZED THAT THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SEAT HAD BOTH BEEN MANUFACTURED IN SUCH A WAY THAT CAUSES MY BACK TO FEEL EXTREMELY UNCOMFORTABLE AND PAINFUL. THE ONLY WAY I CAN DESCRIBE THE ISSUE IS THAT THE SEATS HAVE FAULTY LUMBAR SUPPORT. EVEN WHEN THE LUMBAR SUPPORT SYSTEM IS FULLY DEFLATED, THERE IS A MASSIVE LUMP AT THE BOTTOM OF THE SEAT BACK THAT PUSHES MY LOWER BACK OUTWARD, NOT ALLOWING MY UPPER BACK, NECK AND HEAD TO REST PROPERLY ON THE SEAT. IT IS TO A POINT WHERE DRIVING IS NOW GETTING MORE AND MORE PAINFUL AND IT IS AFFECTING MY DAILY DRIVES. I FIND MYSELF DRIVING AGITATED, IN PAIN AND FEELING LIKE I'M IN AN EXTREMELY AWKWARD POSITION. IT IS EVEN CAUSING ME PAIN EVEN WHEN NOT IN THE CAR NOW. IT'S GETTING OUT OF HAND. I'VE TRIED MULTIPLE SEAT CUSHIONS AND SEAT ADJUSTMENTS. NOTHING CAN FIX THIS ISSUE. IT'S UNCOMFORTABLE, IT'S PAINFUL AND IT IS DANGEROUS. HONDA OF AMERICA HAS YET TO OFFER ME ANYTHING AND ARE GLADLY PUSHING ME AROUND. I NEED OUT OF THIS CAR, I NEED OUT OF A HONDA. THIS ISN'T THE ONLY ISSUE I'VE TAKEN UP WITH CORPORATE AND RECEIVED ABSOLUTELY NO TYPE OF ASSISTANCE. I HAVE LOST COMPLETE CONFIDENCE NOT ONLY IN MY CAR, BUT IN THE HONDA BRAND ITSELF. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 HONDA ACCORD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH, THE VEHICLE SEIZED. THE CONTACT PULLED OVER AND ADDED OIL TO THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED AND CONTINUED TO OPERATE NORMALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN FOR A SOFTWARE UPDATE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 46,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE 58,000.
I WAS HAVING PROBLEMS WITH SHUDDERING IN MY CAR. ON JANUARY 21, 2013, I LOGGED A COMPLAINT NUMBER WITH HONDA USA. THEIR RECOMMENDATION WAS FOR ME TO HAVE MY CAR LOOKED AT BY A CERTIFIED HONDA TECHNICIAN. I MADE AN APPOINTMENT FOR JANUARY 25TH AND TOOK THE CAR IN. THE CERTIFIED DEALER IN COUNTRYSIDE CALLED TO TELL ME HE WAS ABLE TO REPLICATE THE ISSUE. THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN DID AN UPLOAD OF MORE RECENT SOFTWARE AND THE ISSUE SEEMED TO BE FIXED. I WAS SKEPTICAL. WHEN I ARRIVED TO PICK UP MY VEHICLE, I WAS SHOWN A SERVICE BULLETIN THAT HONDA SERVICE WAS RECEIVING NOTIFYING THEM OF THE ISSUE. I ASKED WHY HONDA WAS NOT ACTIVELY RECALLING THE CARS TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. THEY SAID THEY DID NOT KNOW WHY. *TR
I BOUGHT THIS ACCORD USED WITH 95,000 MILES ON IT. WHEN I WENT TO CHANGE THE OIL AFTER 3000 MILES, IT WAS VERY, VERY LOW ON OIL. I MIGHT HAVE TAKEN TWO QUARTS OUT, MAYBE LESS. I STARTED WATCHING THE OIL CONSUMPTION, WHICH HAS GOTTEN WORSE. I NOW ADD ABOUT 1.5 QUARTS EVERY 1000 MILES. IT EMITS NO BLUE SMOKE FROM THE EXHAUST AND HAS NO OIL LEAKS. IT'S GETTING WORSE. AFTER OWNING A VERY RELIABLE 2005 CIVIC, THIS CAR HAS BEEN A COMPLETE DISAPPOINTMENT. MY HONDA DEALER WON'T EVEN RETURN MY CALL (I'VE CALLED THEM 18 TIMES) AND WHEN I GO IN PERSON, THEY TELL ME THEY WILL HAVE TO CONSULT WITH THE MANUFACTURER'S SPECIALIST, WHO ONLY STOPS IN THE DEALERSHIP EVERY 2 WEEKS. I'VE GOING IN PERSON TO ASK ABOUT THIS 4 TIMES. HONDA HAS OFFERED A HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE THUS FAR. *TR
SUBJECT: SUDDEN UNINTENDED ACCELERATION AT ABOUT 9:25 PM, ON WEDNESDAY JANUARY 23, 2013 I WAS PARKED IN THE NORTH PARKING LOT OF THE VIENNA METRO STATION, IN FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA, AWAITING ARRIVAL OF MY WIFE. I HAD PARKED IN THE FIRST PARKING SPACE, ACROSS FROM THE WAITING AREA IN FRONT OF THE METRO STATION ENTRANCE. WHEN I SAW MY WIFE EMERGE FROM THE ENTRANCE OF THE METRO STATION, I STARTED MY CAR AND SHIFTED TO DRIVE. THE ENGINE SUDDENLY REVVED UP AND THE CAR LUNGED FORWARD, ACCELERATING AT HIGH SPEED AND OUT OF CONTROL. I REMEMBER REACTING BY APPLYING THE BRAKES WITH ALL MY MIGHT AND ENGAGING THE HAND BRAKE WITHOUT MUCH EFFECT.THE CAR LUNGED FORWARD ABOUT 100 FEET AND HIT A CONCRETE BARRIER WHICH SMASHED THE FRONT AND ENGINE AND TOTALED THE VEHICLE. LUCKILY THERE WERE NO OTHER CARS OR PEDESTRIANS IN THE VICINITY OTHERWISE THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN MORE SEVERE CONSEQUENCES. WHEN I REGAINED CONSCIOUSNESS, I HAD BEEN TRANSPORTED TO THE FAIRFAX HOSPITAL AND HAD SUFFERED SEVERE TRAUMA TO THE NECK, THROAT, LARYNX AND MOUTH AREA AND WAS BLEEDING FROM A CUT ON THE CHIN. TWO DAYS OF INTENSE EXAMINATION AT THE HOSPITAL AND SEVERAL FOLLOW-UP MEDICAL EXAMS FOUND NO EVIDENCE OF ANY PHYSICAL OR MEDICAL CONDITION THAT COULD HAVE POSSIBLY CONTRIBUTED TO THE ACCIDENT. IT MUST BE NOTED THAT I DID NOT RECEIVE ANY CITATION FOR THE ACCIDENT FROM THE FAIRFAX POLICE. *TR
I REAR ENDED A TRUCK AT 45MPH, CAR DID NOT DEPLOY AIR BAGS. *YT
WHEN DRIVING THE VEHICLE (2008 ACCORD) IN MORNING, I NOTICED A SMALL RATTLE ON INCLINES. LATER THERE WAS A RATTLE WHEN STARTING THE CAR THAT HAS GOTTEN PROGRESSIVELY WORSE. I AM HEARING IT CONSTANTLY NOW AND VERY LOUD. *TR
TAKATA RECALL--M Y HUSBANDS HONDA ACCORD 2008 WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT ON JANUARY 16, 2013. THE ACCIDENT HAPPENED IN SOMERSET COUNTY NJ. HE WAS HIT HEAD ON BY A DRUNK DRIVER WHILE DRIVING ON A LOCAL ROAD ON HIS WAY HOME FROM WORK. HE WAS KILLED INSTANTLY, MY DAUGHTER SUFFERED NUMEROUS INJURIES. THIS ACCIDENT HAPPENED JUST PRIOR TO THE FIRST ANNOUNCEMENT IF TAKATA AIRBAGS. SINCE THEN THERE HAVE BEEN NUMEROUS RECALLS - IT WAS NOT UNTIL JUST RECENTLY MY HUSBANDS VEHICLE WAS ACTUALLY RECALLED. WHEN I WAS GIVEN MY HUSBANDS BELONGINGS G THERE WERE NUMEROUS PIECES OF LARGE PLASTIC PIECES LODGED INSIDE HIS BRIEFCASE WHICH WAS IN THE VEHICLE WITH HIM. HE DIED INSTANTLY OF BLUNT FORCE TRAUMA TO THE CHEST- HIS HEART EXPLODED DUE TO THE FORCE OF THE AIRBAG. WE NEVER RECEIVED ANY RECALL NOTICES ON HIS VEHICLE- I ONLY FOUND OUT BECAUSE I HAVE BEEN CHECKING CONSISTENTLY ON THE RECALLS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 HONDA ACCORD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE STARTED THE VEHICLE AND HEARD A RATTLING NOISE NEAR THE ENGINE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION AND THEY STATED THAT THE VT ACTUATOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED BUT PROVIDED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
ENGINE HAS A LOUD RATTLING NOISE AT A COLD START UP. *TR
MY VEHICLE WAS IN PARK, I WAS IN THE DRIVER SEAT AND I HAD A PASSENGER. THE PASSENGER EXITED THE VEHICLE AND SHUT THE PASSENGER DOOR AND PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED UNEXPECTEDLY. THERE WAS NO COLLISION AND NO DAMAGE OTHER THAN THE DAMAGE THAT THE AIRBAGS CAUSED. I GOT MY CAR HOME AND CALLED MY INSURANCE. THE INSURANCE HAD THE CAR TOWED TO AN AUTO BODY SHOP FOR INSPECTION. UPON INSPECTION, THEY FOUND NO REASON FOR THE AIRBAGS TO DEPLOY OTHER THAN THE POSSIBILITY OF A FAULTY CONTROL MODULE. THE AUTO BODY SHOP CONFIRMED THAT THERE WAS NOT DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE THAT WOULD CAUSE THIS INCIDENT. I CONTACTED HONDA AMERICA. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO A HONDA DEALERSHIP WHERE HONDA AND MY INSURANCE COMPANY SENT A REPRESENTATIVE OUT TO DO AN INSPECTION. MY INSURANCE CONFIRMED THAT THERE WAS NOT DAMAGE THAT WOULD HAVE CAUSED THE AIRBAGS TO DEPLOY BUT HONDA IS SAYING THAT MY VEHICLE HAS FRAME DAMAGE THAT WOULD HAVE CAUSED THIS INCIDENT BUT HONDA WILL NOT PROVIDE ME WITH A REPORT OF THEIR FINDINGS. AFTER RESEARCH, THERE HAVE BEEN NUMEROUS 2008 HONDA ACCORDS WITH THIS SAME AIRBAG PROBLEM THAT HONDA WILL NOT RECOGNIZE OR AGREE TO FIX. I AM STUCK WITH A CAR THAT HAS SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE AND DECREASED VALUE BECAUSE OF A FAULTY HONDA PART. PLEASE HELP. *TR
MY VEHICLE WAS IN PARK. WHEN I TRIED TO PUT IT IN DRIVE, IT WOULD NOT MOVE. I INSERTED A KEY BESIDE THE GEAR SHIFT TO RELEASE THE GEAR SHIFT. MY VSA LIGHT, ALONG WITH THE ! WARNING LIGHT CAME ON. WHEN I LOOKED IN MY CAR MANUAL, IT INSTRUCTED ME TO TAKE IT TO THE HONDA DEALERSHIP IMMEDIATELY. I TOOK IT TO THE HONDA DEALERSHIP AND THEY CALLED AMERICAN HONDA BUT COULD NOT FIGURE OUT WHAT WAS WRONG WITH THE CAR. THE GEAR SHIFT NOW LOCKS AT LEAST ONCE A DAY AND IS GETTING HARDER TO RELEASE. IT ALSO MAKES A CLICKING NOISE. I WENT BACK TO THE HONDA DEALERSHIP AND WAITED 3 1/2 HOURS FOR THEM CORRECT THE PROBLEM. THEY AGAIN CALLED AMERICAN HONDA AND THEIR ONLY RECOMMENDATION IS FOR ME TO PAY $1200.00 TO BUY A NEW PART. THE HONDA DEALERSHIP CHARGED ME $200.00 FOR THEIR TIME. I WAS SENT AWAY WITH NO REPAIR TO MY CAR. I CALLED AMERICAN HONDA AND EXPLAINED THAT I AM WORRIED ABOUT MY SAFETY. THE VSA LIGHT ALONG WITH THE ! WARNING LIGHT SAYS IN THE MANUAL "VSA SYSTEMMALFUNCTION. VEHICLE HAS NORMAL DRIVING ABILITY, BUT DOES NOT HAVE VSA TRACTION AND STABILITY ENHANCEMENT; SEE DEALER AS SOON AS POSSIBLE". I HAVE WENT THROUGH 3 SETS OF TIRES THIS YEAR AND I THINK IT IS BECAUSE OF THIS ISSUE. HONDA HAS ALREADY RECALLED THE VSA IN THE 2005 HONDA PILOT. IN THEIR RECALL STATEMENT, "DURING A VSA SYSTEM MALFUNCTION, THE AMOUNT OF BRAKE FORCE APPLIED COULD EXCEED THE DRIVER'S INTENDED INPUT. UNEXPECTED BRAKE ACTIVATION COULD INCREASE THE RISK OF A CRASH." I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED THAT HONDA IS NOT CONCERNED ABOUT MY PERSONAL SAFETY EVEN THOUGH THEY KNOW THEIR IS AN ISSUE WITH THEIR VSA SYSTEM. AROUND DECEMBER 20TH, 2012 I STARTED TO NOTICE A DECLINE IN MILEAGE WITH MY OIL CHANGES. IT HAS ONLY GOTTEN WORSE FROM THERE. THE CAR BURNS UP SO MUCH OIL AT THIS POINT SO QUICKLY, I WOULD SAY THAT AT ABOUT EVERY 1000 TO 2000 MILES I AM PUTTING 4QTS MORE OF OIL INTO MY ENGINE BECAUSE IT HAS ALL BURNED UP. THEY BASICALLY WERE TRYING TO GET RID OF ME AND TELL ME IT WAS NORMAL. AFTER THAT EXPERIENCE I WENT TO A JIFFY LUBE A MONTH LATER TO GET MY OIL CHECKED AGAIN AND WHEN I BROUGHT IT IN THEY SAID THAT THERE WAS NOTHING IN MY ENGINE THAT I HAD NO OIL IN MY CAR WHATSOEVER. HONDA REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH MY CAR. EVEN WITH THE EXCESSIVE OIL USE. ON THANKSGIVING NIGHT 2012, I WENT SHOPPING AND GOT BACK TO MY PARENTS HOUSE AROUND 11:00PM. I HAD GIFTS AND FOOD IN THE CAR AND THE POWER DOOR LOCKS LOCKED ON ME AUTOMATICALLY WITH ME IN IT. I FINALLY WAS ABLE TO OPEN THE PASSAGE DOOR AND GOT OUT. HELLO, I HAVE A 2008, V4 HONDA ACCORD. I STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS BACK OCTOBER 2012 WITH THE OIL. WHEN I GET AN OIL CHANGE, I WOULD NEED TO ADD AT LEAST 2 QUARTS OF OIL BEFORE THE NEXT OIL CHANGE IS DO. IT STARTED OFF WITH ADDING OIL THE VERY NEXT MONTH AFTER A NEW OIL CHANGE!
