I HAVE HAD 2 BLOWOUTS WITHIN A 3 MONTH PERIOD OF MY FRONT DRIVERS' SIDE GOODYEAR WEATHERHANDLER FUEL MAX TIRES. I WAS FORTUNATE THAT IT WAS A SMOOTH STOP BUT I'M CONCERNED THAT I HAD TWO IN SUCH A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME WITH THE TIRES ONLY BEING 2 YEARS OLD. I HAD MY CAR CHECKED OUT, FRONT END CHECKED AND NO PROBLEMS THERE. THE INSIDE RIM OF BOTH TIRES WERE "DRY ROTTED" PER ONE TIRE GUY AND UNEXPLAINABLE ON HOW IT WOULD WEAR LIKE IT DID. *TR
AIR BAG LIGHT STAYS ON . LIGHT WILL NOT RESET. SRS UNIT FAILURE. REPLACED SRS UNIT.
I WAS TRAVELING ON HIGHWAY 99 SOUTH WHEN A VEHICLE HIT THE BACK OF MY CAR CUASING ME TO SPIN INTO ANOTHER LANE AND GETTING HIT ON MY DRIVER SIDE. MY AIR BAG ON THE DRIVERSIDE DOOR DEPLOYED ONLY, BUT NO AIR BAG FOR MY ADULT PASSENGER DEPLOYED.
MY FIANCE GOT OUT OF THE CAR AND SHUT THE DOOR ON THE RIGHT PASSENGER SIDE. WHEN HE SHUT THE DOOR, THE AIR BAGS IMMEDIATELY DEPLOYED ON THAT SIDE OF THE CAR. NO CRASH TOOK PLACE FOR THIS TO HAPPEN.
I HAD A CAR WRECK ON 2/4/2014 BETWEEN 10 AND 1030 AM. IT WAS CLOUDY AND DRIZZLY AND I CROSSED A 2 LANE STREET WHEN A TRUCK HIT ME AND TOOK ALL THE FRONT FENDER OFF. THE TRUCK SHAVED ALL THE FRONT OF MY CAR. MOST OF THE DAMAGE WAS ON THE DRIVERS SIDE. I HIT MY HEAD ON WINDOW AND MY CHEST ON STEERING WHEEL. NO AIRBAGS WENT OFF, NOT THE SIDE ONE OR THE STEERING WHEEL ONE. MY CAR WAS A TOTAL LOSS AND MY NECK IS BEEN GIVING ME SOME TROUBLE SOME DAYS MORE THAN OTHERS BUT MOSTLY AT NIGHT TIME. I WENT TO SEE MY DOCTOR AND SHE PUT ME ON MUSCLE RELAXANTS AND ANTI-INFLAMMATORY MEDS. I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THE AIRBAGS DIDN'T GO OFF TO PROTECT ME. *TR
MY HONDA ACCORD 2008 EX MODEL'S PASSENGER SIDE CURTAIN AIR BAG TOOK OFF WITHOUT ANY IMPACT WHICH IT WAS GETTING PARKED BY A VALE DRIVER. THERE WAS NO DAMAGE ANY WHERE TO TRIGGER THE SAME. THIS OCCURRED WHEN THE VALE DRIVER PARKED MY CAR AND SHUT THE DOOR OF THE CAR. AIR BAG TOOK OFF AND INJURED THE PERSON. GEICO DID THE REPAIR AND COULD NOT FIND ANY REASON WHAT COULD TRIGGER THE AIR BAG. I TOOK MY CAR TO HONDA DEALERSHIP (HUNTINGTON HONDA) AND THEY ALSO COULD NOT FIND THE REASON. GARAGE DENIED THE CLAIM AND NO ONE IS ABLE TO GIVE CONFIDENCE THAT THIS WILL NOT HAPPEN AGAIN.I HAVE SEVERAL PICTURES AND DETAILED REPORT AND LIKE TO SHARE IF THERE IS ANY WAY TO DO THAT. *TR
MY CAR RATTLES SEVERELY EVERY TIME I DRIVE IT. I'M SO AFRAID TO DRIVE MY CAR BECAUSE I FEEL UNSAFE. THE VTC ACTUATOR IS A PROBLEM THAT ALL 2008 HONDA ACCORDS HAVE AND COSTS SO MUCH MONEY TO NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. THIS ISSUE IS NEEDS TO BE RECALLED. IT CAN CAUSE MAJOR CAR FAILURE. I'M A HARD WORKING STUDENT THAT CAN'T AFFORD TO KEEP PAYING FOR THE CAR TO BE WORKED ON WITH NO SOLUTION. THIS IS A HUGE PROBLEM.
THE REMOTE KEY FOB FAILS TO LOCK THE VEHICLE AFTER STOPPING, TURNING OFF ENGINE AND EXITING. ALSO, THE DOORS REMAIN LOCKED AFTER THE VEHICLE IS STOPPED AND ENGINE IS TURNED OFF. *TR
ENGINE CLICKS WHEN STARTING, ESPECIALLY WHEN COLD. IT SOUNDS LIKE OIL IS NOT GETTING TO THE ENGINE. I BELIEVE IT MAY BE RELATED TO THE VTC ACTUATOR.
BOLT FELL OFF FRONT BRAKE AT DEALER. DEALER REPAIRED BRAKES FREE. *TR
BOLT FROM FRONT BRAKES FELL OFF AT DEALER WHILE DRIVING UP TO INSPECT BRAKES. DEALER REPAIRED BRAKES FREE. *TR
I HAVE BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE BRAKES SINCE IT WAS PURCHASED IN MARCH 2011. THE BRAKES PADS WERE REPLACED ON THE FRONT AND BACK TWICE SINCE I BOUGHT THE CAR. THE ROTORS WERE TURNED THIS YEAR. THE CAR WOULD NOT STOP AND CONSTANTLY MADE NOISES. A WEEK AGO, I WAS INVOLVED IN A CAR ACCIDENT BECAUSE MY BRAKES FAILED. *TR
HEAD LAMPS DIM AND FLICKER EVERY FEW MINUTES WHILE DRIVING. I AM AN ASE CERTIFIED MASTER TECH AND L! TECH SO I UNDER STAND THE CAUSE. HONDA USES A VOLTAGE SENSING DEVISE TO TURN OFF THE CHARGING SYSTEM TO LOWER THE ENGINE LOAD SOMETIMES AND INCREASE GAS MILEAGE. THE PROBLEM IS WITH THE HEAD LAMPS ON THE ALTERNATOR CAN ONLY BE TURNED OFF BRIEFLY BEFORE THE VOLTAGE FALLS TOO LOW AND THE CHARGING SYSTEM MUST TURN BACK ON. THIS LEADS TO A CONSTANT FLICKERING OF ALL THE LAMPS AND SOMETIMES CONFUSION TO OTHER DRIVERS WHO THINK YOU FLASHED YOUR LIGHTS AT THEM SO THEY CAN TURN LEFT IN FRONT OF YOU WHEN REALLY YOU DID NOT. I THINK ALL THESE CARS NEED TO BE REPROGRAMMED TO KEEP THE ALTERNATOR TURNED ON WHEN THE HEAD LAMPS ARE ON, A SIMPLE FIX THAT WOULD MAKE THEM MUCH SAFER.
2008 HONDA ACCORD VTC ACTUATOR HAS GONE BAD NOW TWICE AND EACH TIME I HAVE PAID OUT $700 +. THIS IS ALL WITHIN A 12 MONTH PERIOD. SO IN ORDER TO DRIVE MY CAR I HAVE TO PAY AN ADDITIONAL 700 A YEAR ON A NEWER CAR? *TR
I HAVE THE 2008 HONDA ACCORD WITH THE 4CYL ENGINE AND DRIVE APPROXIMATELY 8 MILES PER DAY. WITHIN THE LAST FEW MONTHS I HAVE NOTICED SIGNIFICANT OIL LOSS IN BETWEEN OIL CHANGES. APPROXIMATELY 3-4 QUARTS NEEDS TO BE ADDED IN BETWEEN OIL CHANGES. THERE IS NOT A LEAK TO BE FOUND AND I AM NOT BLOWING SMOKE OUT OF THE TAILPIPE. UPON ADDITIONAL RESEARCH, I'VE FOUND THAT MULTIPLE OTHER OWNERS OF THE EXACT SAME MAKE AND MODEL VEHICLE ARE HAVING THIS SAME ISSUE. I'VE TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO A LOCAL SHOP TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT, BUT STILL DON'T HAVE A RESOLVE. HONDA JUST RECENTLY LOST A CLASS ACTION SUIT REGARDING THE V6 MODELS, BUT STILL WON'T ADMIT TO THE ISSUE WITH THE 4CYL MODEL. I HAVE HAD ESTIMATES ANYWHERE FROM $500 ON UP TO A COMPLETE ENGINE OVERHAUL, WHICH IS FAR MORE THAN I CAN AFFORD. HONDA NEEDS TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS AND FIX THE PROBLEM. ON OR AROUND THE 21ST OF NOVEMBER, AS MY FAMILY AND I WERE GETTING OUT OF THE VEHICLE, THE PASSENGER DOOR IS CLOSED AND THE AIR BAGS SUDDENLY DEPLOY. NO IMPACT ON THE CAR, NO ACCIDENT - IN FACT THE CAR WAS PARKED. I CALLED AMERICAN HONDA CORPORATE OFFICES AND WAS ADVISED TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP. I WENT AHEAD AND TOOK IT TO HUDSON HONDA IN WEST NEW YORK, NJ. MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP DISCOVERED THAT I HAD HIT A POT HOLE 2 WEEKS PRIOR TO THE INCIDENT. I WAS TOLD BECAUSE I HAD HIT THE POT HOLE 2 WEEKS PRIOR THAT WAS THE REASON WHY MY AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. I CALLED MY CAR INSURANCE COMPANY AND WAS ADVISED THAT THIS WAS IMPOSSIBLE. I WOULD HAVE HAD TO HAVE AN IMPACT IN ORDER FOR THE PASSENGER SIDE CURTAIN AND TORSO AIR BAGS TO DEPLOY. I CALLED AMERICAN HONDA AGAIN TODAY AND WAS TOLD AGAIN THAT THE REASON WHY MY AIR BAGS DEPLOYED WAS BECAUSE THEY DISCOVERED I HIT A POT HOLE 2 WEEKS PRIOR TO THE INCIDENT. I HAVE READ OTHER COMPLAINTS FROM OTHER CONSUMERS AND WOULD LIKE MY COMPLAINT TO BE FULLY INVESTIGATED. HONDA IS SAYING I WILL NEED TO COME OUT OF POCKET AT ALMOST $4000 TO FIX THE AIR BAG. WHY WILL I NEED TO COME OUT OF POCKET WHEN I DID NOT HAVE AN ACCIDENT? I BELIEVE THAT THIS IS A HONDA ISSUE AND NOT A CONSUMER ISSUE. IN THE INTERIM I AM SPEAKING WITH MY CAR INSURANCE COMPANY TO DO THEIR OWN INVESTIGATION OF THE INCIDENT. *JS
BOTH WHEEL BEARINGS REQUIRED REPLACEMENT AROUND 120K MILES. LOUD HUMMING NOISES COMING FROM THE REAR OF THE CAR. CHANGED OUT BOTH HUB ASSEMBLIES AND NOW IT SOUNDS QUIET AGAIN. SEEMS A BIT PREMATURE TO HAVE TO CHANGE OUT THE PARTS. *TR
MY AIR BAG LIGHT STAYS ON. MY PASSENGER AIRBAG LIGHT THAT SAYS "OFF" IS ALWAYS ILLUMINATED. RECENTLY, MY "SIDE AIR BAG LIGHT" STAYS ON FOR ABOUT A MINUTE AFTER MY CAR IS ON. IT DID NOT DO THIS BEFORE. *TT
WHEN I START MY CAR (USUALLY WHEN IT IS OFF FOR 4~6 HOURS) IT WILL MAKE A SCREECH NOISE. BUT IF IT HAS BEEN OFF FOR LESS THAN THAT, THEN THE CAR DOES NOT MAKE THE NOISE. I'VE TAKEN THE VEHICLE IN TODAY AT THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THAT THE CAUSE WAS THE VTC ACTUATOR. THE DEALERSHIP IS ASKING FOR AN $800 CHARGE TO FIX THIS. MY CAR IS NOW OUT OF WARRANTY. AS OF RIGHT NOW I UNDERSTAND THAT THERE IS NO RECALL FROM HONDA FOR THIS. I HAVE DONE A GOOGLE SEARCH ON 2008 HONDA ACCORD VTC ACTUATOR RECALL AND HAVE FOUND THAT A LOT OF OTHER PEOPLE HAS THE SAME ISSUE AS I DO. *TR
DROVE INTO A GAS STATION SO MY FIANCEE COULD BUY A BEVERAGE OUR 9 Y/O IN BACK SEAT WITH BELT ON. FIANCEE CLOSED DOOR LOUD BOOM N MY SON STARTS SCREAMING CRYING I REALIZE ONCE POWDERY SMOKE CLEARS THAT AIR BAGS ENTIRE SIDE CURTAIN N PASSENGER FRONT SEAT HAVE GONE OFF THUS HITTING MY 9 YEAR OLDS IN THE HEAD HE ENDED UP WITH A CONCUSSION AND BLOOD BEHIND HIS EAR ON THE INSIDE I WENT TO HONDA. I ALSO CALLED MY INSURANCE AND HONDA BERATED ME IN FRONT OF THEIR OTHER CUSTOMERS CALL MYSELF AND MY FIANCE A COUPLE OF [XXX] MY SON WAS IN THE EMERGENCY ROOM AND ENDED UP HAVING A CAT SCAN OF HIS BRAIN HE ENDED UP MISSING SCHOOL FOR TWO DAYS NOW HONDA IS DENYING IT IS THEIR FAULTY AM JUST QUITE CONFUSED AS TO HOW AIRBAG SPONTANEOUSLY DEPLOY WHEN A VEHICLE IS NOT MOVING AND NOT IN A COLLISION AND NOT DRIVING EVEN AND THE HONDA CAN SAY IT IS NOT THERE DEFECT NOW I HAVE AN INJURED CHILD AND THE CAR WITH ABOUT $7,000 DAMAGE PLEASE HELP ME THANK YOU. FOR THE 2ND TIME SINCE 2008, I'VE HAD TO REPLACE THE SPARKPLUGS DUE TO PCM ISSUES. THE ENGINE LIGHT WILL COME ON AND GIVES AN ERROR CODE OF P0303. UNFORTUNATELY YOU CAN ONLY GO TO HONDA TO HAVE THE COMPUTER UPDATED, AND THEY WILL TRY TO SELL ADDITIONAL SERVICES. TODAY THEY REFUSED TO UPDATE MY COMPUTER STATING THE ONLY WAY TO FIX WAS TO REPLACE ALL THE SPARKPLUGS DESPITE THE SERVICE BULLETIN STATING OTHERWISE. DESPITE THIS BEING A MANUFACTURER ISSUE HONDA HAS FORCED CAR OWNERS TO PAY FOR THIS REPAIR WITH NO TRUE FIX EXISTING. *TR

WHILE WALKING TOWARDS MY OWN VEHICLE WITH MY 2 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER, MY FIANCE GOT IN THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR OF OUR 2008 HONDA ACCORD AND CLOSED THE DOOR. RIGHT AFTER HE SHUT THE DOOR A LOUD EXPLOSION WAS HEARD. THE SIDE AIR BAG (ON THE TOP AND WITHIN THE SEAT) HAD DEPLOYED. THE CAR WASN'T EVEN STARTED AT THE TIME. LIKE EVERYONE ELSE HONDA DOES NOT FIND IT TO BE THEIR PROBLEM. MY INSURANCE IS HELPING ME INVESTIGATE THE CAUSE OF THE DEPLOYMENT SINCE THERE WAS NO ACCIDENT. I WOULD REALLY LIKE TO KNOW HOW MANY TIMES THIS MUST HAVE HAPPENED BEFORE SOMEONE OTHER THAN THE CONSUMER IS HELD LIABLE. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE PUTTING MY DAUGHTER IN THE CAR IF THIS IS POSSIBLE. *JS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 HONDA ACCORD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE NOTICED FLUID LEAKING FROM UNDER THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE STEERING COLUMN AND STEERING GEAR BOX WERE BOTH LEAKING, AND THE STEERING GEAR BOX NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 63,000.
THE ENTIRE PASSENGER SIDE CURTAIN AND PASSENGER SIDE SEAT AIRBAG DEPLOYED WHEN MY BOYFRIEND EXITED THE PASSENGER SIDE AND SHUT THE DOOR. THERE WAS NO COLLISION NOR OUTSIDE DAMAGE. THE AIRBAGS JUST DEPLOYED AS SOON AS THE DOOR SHUT. IT IS OBVIOUSLY A MECHANICAL PROBLEM AND A SAFETY ISSUE. HONDA REFUSES TO COVER FOR THE REPAIR. *TR
I NOTICED TRANSMISSION FLUID LEAKING FROM MY VEHICLE. TOOK MY CAR TO A TRUSTED INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, WHO DETERMINED AND DOCUMENTED THE FLUID LEAK IS COMING FROM A "SPLIT-CASE GASKET", WHERE BOTH CASE HALVES BOLT TOGETHER. HIS OPINION WAS THAT A TRANSMISSION FLUID LEAK IS HIGHLY UNUSUAL ON A LOW MILEAGE HONDA AND THAT HE SUSPECTED A DEFECTIVE GASKET THAT WAS IMPROPERLY SEALED, PRIOR TO LEAVING THE FACTORY. MADE AN APPOINTMENT WITH THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT OF LEITH HONDA IN RALEIGH,N.C., WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS ORIGINALLY PURCHASED, ON AUGUST 29TH, 2013. THE TORQUE CONVERTER SEAL WAS FOUND TO BE "LEAKING" AND IT WOULD COST$ 1993.00 TO REPAIR, WHICH THE DEALER WOULD NOT ASSUME. THIS IS HISTORICALLY BEEN A LONG STANDING PROBLEM WITH HONDA VEHICLES, WHICH EVENTUALLY CAUSES TRANSMISSION SLIPPAGE, EXTENSIVE TRANSMISSION DAMAGE, LOSS OF POWER, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO SUDDENLY STOP. THIS POTENTIALLY CAN LEAD TO SEVERE INJURIES AND DEATH . I CONSIDER THIS PROBLEM A CRITICAL SAFETY ISSUE, WELL KNOWN TO THE MANUFACTURER AND DEALERS. I AM APPALLED AND OUTRAGED BY HONDA'S LACK OF INTEGRITY AND APPARENT DISREGARD FO PUBLIC SAFETY..I AM SURE IT IS RELATED TO THEIR "BOTTOM LINE" I RESPECTFULLY AM REQUESTING YOUR AGENCY TO INVESTIGATE MY COMPLAINT AND TO REVIEW OTHER OWNERS COMPLAINTS AND HORRENDOUS EXPERIENCES, ON LINE. PLEASE FORCE THEM TO ACKNOWLEDGE THESE DEFECTS AND MAKE THEM ACCOUNTABLE TO PREVENT FUTURE INJURIES AND DEATHS, THAT LIKELY WILL OCCUR TO UNSUSPECTING HONDA OWNERS.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, WHO WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE WHAT CAUSED THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 65,000.
THIS WAS THE SECOND TIME MY CAR ACCELERATED FOR NO REASONS WHILE I WAS DRIVING. THE FIRST TIME I WAS ONLY DRIVING 35 MILES AN HOUR AND NO ONE WAS IN FRONT OF ME. THE SECOND TIME THE CAR ACCELERATED AS I WAS STOPPING AT A RED LIGHT. I BARELY MISSED A CAR BY ONE FOOT. BOTH TIMES I WENT TO THE HONDA DEALERSHIP IN SANFORD. LONG STORY SHORT...NO ONE KNOWS HOW TO FIX IT. I AM EXTREMELY UPSET OVER THE IDEA THAT THERE ARE ALL CAR OWNERS WITH THESE ELECTRONIC SYSTEMS THAT DON'T WORK. THE SECOND TIME MY THREE YEAR GRANDSON WAS IN THE BACK SEAT. THE DEALERSHIP SAID THE ELECTRONIC SYSTEM SENT A MESSAGE THAT DESIGNATED THAT THERE WAS AN ACCELERATION OR MALFUNCTION. ANYWAY I AM SENDING THIS BECAUSE I WANTED MY CAR FIXED AND BECAUSE IT IS A PAPER TRAIL IF SOMEONE GETS KILLED IN THIS CAR. I WILL NO LONGER OWN A HONDA. THIS WAS MY SECOND HONDA AND UNTIL THIS I WAS VERY SATISFIED. I NOW HAVE A CAR PAID FOR THAT I CANNOT DRIVE. I DO WANT THE PUBLIC TO BE AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM. [XXX] I DON'T HAVE THE VIN NUMBER. I CAME TO A STOP AND MY 15 YR SON GOT OUT OF THE CAR AND SHUT THE PASSENGER'S SIDE DOOR AND THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. HE WAS IN A HURRY SO SHUT THE DOOR HARD BUT I WOULD HAVE NEVER EXPECTED THE AIRBAGS TO DEPLOY. ALSO, MY FRONT SEAT PASSENGER'S AIRBAG DEPLOYED. I TOOK IT TO HONDA DEALERSHIP THAT I PURCHASED IT FROM. THEY SAID IT WAS NOT A MANUFACTURER DEFECT. I FILED A CLAIM WITH MY INSURANCE COMPANY AS INSTRUCTED BY HONDA. I THEN GOT A CALL THAT I WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR $100.00. I HAVE NOW RECEIVED A LETTER FROM MY INSURANCE COMPANY THAT IT IS A MANUFACTURER DEFECT AND THEY DENY MY CLAIM. *TR

MULTIPLE HONDA DEALERSHIPS REFUSED TO SERVICE THE VEHICLE IN A TIMELY FASHION (INSIDE A 2 WEEK WINDOW), WOULD NOT OFFER A COMPLEMENTARY VEHICLE, AND INSISTED ON CHARGING A DIAGNOSTICS FEE WHEN I HAD ALREADY PERFORMED THE DIAGNOSTICS THROUGH WORK AND ASSOCIATED PARTNERSHIPS (FLEET MANAGEMENT PROVIDER AND MAINTENANCE VENDORS). WE WERE ABOUT TO BEGIN OUR VACATION TRIP DRIVING OUR 2008 HONDA ACCORD 4 DOOR, WHEN MY WIFE GOT INTO THE DRIVERS SEAT AND MY 29 YEAR OLD SON GOT INTO THE PASSENGER SEAT. WHEN MY SON CLOSED THE PASSENGER DOOR, THE SIDE CURTAIN AIRBAG DEPLOYED FROM THE HEADLINER AND FRONT PASSENGER SEAT CAUSING AN ABRASION TO THE RIGHT FOREARM OF MY SON. THE VEHICLE WAS RUNNING AND IN THE PARKED POSITION. I HAVE OWNED THIS VEHICLE FOR 5 YEARS AND 1 MONTH AND IT HAS 57,300 MILES ON IT AND HAS NEVER BEEN IN ANY TYPE OF ACCIDENT. HONDA WAS CONTACTED AND RECOMMENDED THAT I HAVE A HONDA DEALER EVALUATE THE INCIDENT WHICH I DID. THE HONDA DEALER TOLD ME THAT THEIR COMPUTER INDICATED THAT THE SIDE CURTAIN AIR BAG DEPLOYED, WHICH I ALREADY KNEW. AMERICAN HONDA WAS CONTACTED AND TOLD ME THAT I SHOULD CONTACT MY INSURANCE COMPANY WHO SENT ME TO THEIR ADJUSTER WHO EXAMINED THE CAR AND STATED THAT THE AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT WAS NOT THE RESULT OF A COLLISION OR COMPREHENSIVE CLAIM AND TOLD ME THAT THEY WOULD DENY MY CLAIM FOR REPAIR. HONDA WAS NOTIFIED AND TOLD ME THEY WOULD NOT REPAIR THE VEHICLE SINCE IT WAS OUT OF WARRANTY. THE ESTIMATE FOR REPAIR IS $2500. THIS IS CLEARLY A SAFETY ISSUE. HONDA HAS RECALLED 800,000 VEHICLES, MANY OLDER THAN MINE, FOR SIMILAR AIRBAG PROBLEMS BUT NOT THE 2008 ACCORD. *TR

I WENT TO THE SAM SWOPE DEALERSHIP AT 1 SWOPE AUTOCENTER DR, LOUISVILLE, KY 40299 WHERE I PURCHASED MY CAR AND EXPLAINED THE ISSUE TO THEM. THEY TOLD ME THAT THIS HAPPENS ALL THE TIME IN 2008 ACCORDS AND THAT THEY WOULD TAKE A LOOK AT IT AND GET BACK TO ME. THEY PROCEEDED TO TELL ME THEY SAW NO DEFAULT CODES SO IT WAS NOT THEIR RESPONSIBILITY TO FIX IT AND QUOTED ME $5000 THAT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY OUT OF POCKET TO FIX IT. I WAS ANGRY AND TOLD THEM I WOULD NOT STAND FOR IT AND I WANTED TO SPEAK WITH CORPORATE. I HAD TO THEN TAKE MY VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR CORPORATE TO LOOK IT OVER. A WEEK OR SO LATER I RECEIVED A PHONE CALL FROM THE CORPORATE OFFICE INFORMING ME THERE WAS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING THEY COULD DO AND IT WAS MY RESPONSIBILITY TO FIX IT. I WAS LIVID!!! I PAY MY CAR PAYMENT ON TIME EVERY MONTH, PAY FOR AN EXTENDED WARRANTY AND GAP INSURANCE BUT OBVIOUSLY HONDA DOES NOT HOLD TRUE TO TREATING THEIR CUSTOMERS THE WAY THEY SHOULD BE TREATED. I AM 24 YEARS OLD AND SINGLE AND DO NOT $5000 JUST LAYING AROUND TO FIX THE ISSUE, SO I HAVE BEEN DRIVING AROUND EVER SINCE WITH NO AIRBAGS ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. I TRULY HOPE THE MORE PEOPLE THAT COME FORWARD WITH THIS ISSUE WILL GET 2008 HONDA ACCORDS RECALLED.
