I HAD TO REPLACE REAR PADS AND ROTORS IN 2009 HONDA ACCORD LX 4DR AT 24,000K BECAUSE OF PREMATURE WEAR. MOST OF MY MILEAGE WAS HIGHWAY. *TR
I HAVE A 2009 HONDA ACCORD EX-L V6 WHICH I BOUGHT NEW IN AUGUST OF 2008. I NOTICED WHEN DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD THAT A METALLIC SCRAPING SOUND WAS COMING FROM THE BRAKES THAT WENT AWAY WHEN I APPLIED THE BRAKE PEDAL. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE HONDA DEALER WHO SAID THAT THE REAR BRAKE PADS WERE WORN AND THAT THEY HAD BEEN GRINDING INTO THE REAR ROTORS. THERE WERE 31,480 MILES ON THE CAR AS I DRIVE MOSTLY HIGHWAY. THE COST FOR NEW REAR PADS, ROTORS, AND LABOR WAS $522. THE CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT ONLY PAYS OUT $150. THIS IS EXTREMELY UNFAIR AND THIS DEFECT SHOULD FORCE A RECALL WITH FULL REIMBURSEMENT BY HONDA. *TR

AT 18K, CAR STARTED TO SHIMMY WHEN BRAKES APPLIED. DEALER SAID ROTORS WERE BAD BUT PADS GOOD, SAID THAT I HAD DRIVEN WHILE RIDING ON THE BRAKES WHICH IS PATENTLY FALSE. *TR
I PURCHASED A 2009 HONDA ACCORD THAT WAS USED, BUT CARFAX CERTIFIED. SHORTLY AFTER MY PURCHASE, I HEARD A POPPING NOISE. WHEN I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER, I WAS INFORMED THAT MY VEHICLE HAD A BROKEN AXLE WHICH WAS UNHEARD OF FOR THIS YEAR/MAKE OF MY VEHICLE. I AM UPSET BECAUSE HONDA IS "REPUTABLE" COMPANY BUT WILL NOT BACK THEIR PRODUCT. I AM AFRAID THAT I CAN BE GOING DOWN THE FREEWAY AND MY WHEEL MAY MALFUNCTION. *TR
ON JULY 16TH I LEFT MY 2009 HONDA ACCORD IN TO MY TRUSTED MECHANIC FOR MY ANNUAL NEW YORK STATE SAFETY INSPECTION WITH INSTRUCTIONS TO FIX ANYTHING HE FINDS WRONG IN ORDER TO MEET THE REQUIREMENTS, SO WHEN I RETURNED FROM OUT OF TOWN, I COULD PICK IT UP AND IT WOULD BE LEGAL AND SAFE. I WAS QUITE SURPRISED TO FIND THAT THE REAR BRAKES WERE WORN TO THE POINT WHERE NEW PADS WERE NEEDED FOR IT TO PASS, WHICH HE REPLACED AS DIRECTED. SINCE IT ONLY HAS 23,400 MILES ON IT, A LOT OF THAT HIGHWAY DRIVING, I CALLED HONDA AND FOUND THAT THERE IS A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT FOR THIS VERY PROBLEM, ALTHOUGH I WAS NEVER NOTIFIED. WHEN I LOOKED ON THE SUGGESTED WEBSITE, ACCORDSETTLEMENT.COM, I READ WHERE YOU HAD TO HAVE HAD THE BRAKES REPLACED WITH HONDA BRAKE PADS IN ORDER TO RECEIVE COMPENSATION FOR THE PREMATURE WEAR, ALTHOUGH I CANNOT IMAGINE ANYONE WANTING TO REPLACE WITH ANOTHER BAD SET OF PADS AND HAVE THIS REOCCUR. SOMEHOW, SOMEONE SHOULD DIRECT OTHER ACCORDS (08 & 09) TO THIS WEBSITE SO THAT THEY CAN BE SURE TO KNOW THE CONDITIONS THAT MUST BE MET TO SATISFY HONDA'S REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCH COMPENSATION. *TR

IT IS UNBELIEVABLE. OWN A NEW 2009 ACCORD, REAR BRAKE PADS GONE AFTER 15,000 MILES. I AM TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP I NEED TO CHANGE EVERY 10,000 MILES TO BE SAFE, THIS IS UNCONSCIONABLE AND FRAUDULENT. WHERE HAS HONDA QUALITY CONTROL GONE? *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 HONDA ACCORD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHENEVER THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED A SQUEAKING NOISE WAS HEARD IN THE REAR BRAKES. THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED BY THE DEALER. THE FAILURE CONTINUED TO RECUR WHENEVER THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 22,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
2009 HONDA ACCORD. CONSUMER STATES PROBLEM WITH TIRES *TGW THE CONSUMER NOTICED A THREE INCH JAGGED CRACK ON THE LOWER SIDEWALL OF THE TIRE. THE CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO HIS LOCAL SHOP AND WAS INFORMED THE DAMAGE COULD BE CALLED A SLICE OR SLIVER. THE TIRES WERE MEASURED AND THEY WERE STILL IN GOOD CONDITION AS THERE WAS NO EVIDENCE OF ANY ROAD HAZARD TO THE TIRE OR WHEEL. *JB UPDATED 09/29/10
PREMATURE WEAR OF MY BRAKES ON MY 2009 HONDA ACCORD. DURING BRAKING MY CAR WOULD SHAKE. ONLY 32K MILES ON MY CAR, AND THE FRONT ROTORS NEEDED TO BE RESURFACED, WHICH WAS COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. MY REAR BRAKES WERE NOT COVERED AND I HAD TO PAY $250 OUT OF POCKET TO REPLACE THE BRAKE PADS WHICH HAD BEEN WORN DOWN TO THE BRAKE SQUEALER, AND TO RESURFACE THE REAR ROTORS. *TR
I LEASED A 2009 HONDA ACCORD LX-P IN NJ. AFTER 11,000 MILES I NEEDED TO REPLACE THE REAR BRAKES DUE TO PREMATURE BRAKE WEAR. I NEEDED TO PAY $200 OUT OF POCK IN ORDER TO FIX THE PROBLEM. THE DEALERSHIP MENTION THEY DID NOT HAVE ANY INFORMATION REGARDING THE PROBLEM SINCE IT WAS A HONDA ISSUE AND NOT A DEALERSHIP ISSUE. I HAD REVIVED A CLASS ACTION LETTER INFORMING ME OF THIS BUT SEE IT AS A CLEAR SAFETY VIOLATION ON HONDA'S PART ONE AS THEY HAD KNOW THERE WAS AN ISSUE WITH THIS TYPE OF MODEL AND TWO AS THEY REFUSE TO PERFORM WORK AND REPLACE THE ITEM WITH ISSUES UNDER WARRANTY. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 HONDA ACCORD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ENGINE WAS BURNING EXCESSIVE AMOUNTS OF ENGINE OIL AND FOULED THE SPARK PLUGS. IN ADDITION, THE ENGINE OIL WAS ENTERING INTO THE CYLINDER CAUSING THE SPARK PLUGS TO BE CHANGED MORE FREQUENTLY THAN NORMAL. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BY THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ENGINE NEEDED REPLACING. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WOULD NOT REPLACE THE ENGINE. THE MANUFACTURER WOULD NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 59,000.

THE DEALER WOULD NOT PROVIDE ANY ASSISTANCE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO THE MANUFACTURER OF THE TIRES. THE TIRES WERE NOT REPLACED AND THE CONTACT STATED HE WAS NOT DRIVING THE VEHICLE. I HAD MY 2009 HONDA ACCORD IN FOR SERVICE AND WAS TOLD THE REAR BRAKES NEEDED REPLACEMENT. I HAVE ONLY 25,000 MILE ON IT. IT WAS NOT COVERED BY THE WARRANTY, BUT I WAS TOLD THERE IS A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT PENDING AGAINST HONDA. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE AND A RECALL SHOULD BE MADE. *TR
AIR CONDITIONER IN 2009 HONDA ACCORD WON'T WORK. BROUGHT TO DEALER AND THEY SAY A ROCK HIT THE CONDENSOR WHICH IS LOCATED IN FRONT BEHIND THE OPENINGS IN THE BUMPER WITHOUT ANY SCREEN OR PROTECTION. THEY DO NOT COVER IN WARRANTY AND WE HAVE TO FILE WITH OUR INSURANCE WHICH MAY RAISE THE COST. SOMEONE MY HUSBAND WORKS WITH HAS THE SAME YEAR ACCORD AND THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE TO THEM AND HONDA WILL NOT COVER. CONSUMER STATES A PROBLEM WITH THE ABS AND SQUEALING FAN BELT *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED HE ENCOUNTERED A VEHICLE ATTEMPTING TO CROSS TWO LANES OF TRAFFIC ABRUPTLY AND WITHOUT WARNING. IT BECAME APPARENT THAT THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKES DID NOT FUNCTION, NO PULSATING OCCURRED AS HE HAD EXPERIENCED IN PREVIOUSLY OWNED VEHICLES. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 HONDA ACCORD. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR ROUTINE MAINTENANCE WITH 33,000 MILES ON MAY 10, 2010. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE REAR BRAKE PADS WERE PREMATURELY WORN OUT AND REPLACED THEM. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 33,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 40,000.
MY FIANCE' PURCHASED A 2009 HONDA ACCORD EX 4 DOOR SEDAN. SHE COMPLAINED ABOUT A MONTH AGO THAT SHE STARTED HEARING A HIGH PITCHED SQUEAL COMING FROM THE REAR. SHE HAD ABOUT 19K MILES ON IT SO I WAS BEWILDERED WHAT IT COULD BE SAYING IT CAN'T BE BRAKES SO IT MUST BE A BEARING PROBLEM. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER, WHERE HE REPORTED I NEEDED BRAKES. HE SAID "HONDA ADMITS THEY MIGHT HAVE AN ENGINEERING PROBLEM WITH THE BRAKES WITH PREMATURE FAILURE, BUT WON'T ADMIT IT." SERVICE REP STATED THAT THE PADS ESPECIALLY IN THE REAR ARE FAR TOO SMALL TO HANDLE THE WEIGHT OF THE CAR SO THEY WEAR ESPECIALLY FASTER THAN OTHER VEHICLES. HE STATED THEY DID A MODIFICATION BY ADDING A STEEL SENSOR SO THE OWNER KNOWS WHEN THEY ARE GETTING LOW. HE WOULDN'T ADMIT THAT BEFORE THE MODIFICATION, THERE WERE NO SENSORS ON THE BRAKES PEOPLE WOULD BE METAL TO METAL AND NOT KNOW IT BECAUSE OF THE EXTREMELY LOW MILES OF WEAR. ONLINE REPORTS PUT BRAKE FAILURES FOR THIS MODEL STARTING FROM 2008 ANYWHERE FROM 14K TO 21K. THAT IS OVER $400 FOR BRAKES AND THE CAR IS ONLY 1 YEAR OLD. ONCE AGAIN, HONDA IS MORE CONCERNED OVER REPAIR REVENUE THAN PASSENGER SAFETY. HOW MANY PEOPLE HAVE DIED FROM BRAKE FAILURE IN LATE MODEL HONDAS? FYI: THERE WAS ANOTHER WOMAN WAITING IN THE DEALER LOUNGE WITH ME... HER 2009 ACCORD HAD 19K MILES AND SHE WAS TOLD SHE NEEDED BRAKES ON ALL 4 WHEELS. *TR

UPON RESTARTING, THE CHECK ENGINE AND VSA SERVICE LIGHTS WERE ILLUMINATED ON THE DASHBOARD. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT ONE OF THE CYLINDERS REGISTERED A MISFIRE. THE DEALER RESET THE COMPUTER. THE FAILURE RECURRED THE FOLLOWING DAY AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER. THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS CONSUMING EXCESSIVE AMOUNTS OF OIL YET THE DEALER COULD NOT REPAIR THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 34,000.

CAR WAS OUT OF ALIGNMENT WHEN PICKED UP . 1/27/2010 6336 MILES RESURFACED FRONT ROTORS AND BALANCED TIRES DUE TO SEVERE VIBRATION. 2/5/2010 6897 MILES RESURFACED REAR ROTORS AND ROAD FORCE BALANCED ALL TIRES. 3/24/2010 10380 MILES RESURFACED REAR ROTORS AND ROAD FORCE BALANCED ALL TIRES. 4/28/2010 11813 MILES REPLACED REAR BRAKE PADS, RESURFACED REAR ROTORS. MOUNTED AND BALANCED 4 NEW TIRES DUE TO CONTINUED VIBRATION. CAR REMAINS IN SHOP TRYING TO CORRECT VIBRATION. *TR
I HAVE A 2009 HONDA ACCORD. I BEGAN HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE A/C NOT COOLING, SO I TOOK TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR ASSESSMENT. I WAS INFORMED THAT A LINE WAS NOT WORKING AND I HAD A FREON LEAK. THEY PLACED DYE IN THE FLUID TO DETERMINE WHERE THE LEAK ORIGINATED. THEY DETERMINED IT WAS COMING FROM THE CONDENSER. THIS PART IS LOCATED IN THE GRILL OF THE CAR AND ISN'T PROTECTED IN ANY WAY AND THEY DECIDED IT HAD BEEN DAMAGED, WITHOUT PROOF, FROM SOMETHING I HAD HIT, SUCH AS A ROCK. THEY THEN INFORM ME THAT MY FULL WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER IT, AND INFORMED ME IT WOULD COST $432.00 TO REPAIR. THEY ALSO CANNOT GUARANTEE THAT IT WILL NOT OCCUR AGAIN AND AGAIN. THE FREON CONTINUES TO LEAK AND WILL NOT COOL THE CAR. IT ALSO CAUSES A FOUL SMELL TO COME INTO THE CAR. THE BRAKE PADS WERE REPLACED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 23000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 26000.

THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN TO A LOCAL HONDA DEALER SIX TIMES NOW SINCE MAY 2010. MANY HOSES HAVE BEEN REPORTED TO HAVE LEAKS, CONDENSOR REPORTED TO BE BAD, COMPRESSOR REPORTED BAD, CLUTCH REPORTED BAD, LOW FREON REPORTED, PIPES REPORTED TO BE BAD AND SEALS ON PIPES AND HOSES REPORTED LEAKING. IT IS SUSPECTED THAT THE DEALER AND HONDA MANUFACTURE HAS NOT FOUND A SOLUTION. BOTH PARTIES ARE IN COMMUNICATION WITH ONE ANOTHER WITH NO RESULTS THUS FAR. THE DEALER HAS NOW HAD THE VEHICLE FOR TWO WORKING WEEKS AS OF 10-22-2010 WITH NO EXPLANATION TO WHAT THE PROBLEM IS. THE DEALER HAS REPLICATED THE A/C BLOWING HOT AIR NUMEROUS TIMES. A NOISE HAS DEVELOPED IN OUR 2009 HONDA ACCORD IN THE DASH, WHERE THE PASSENGER SIDE AND RIGHT SIDE "A" PILLAR AIR BAGS ARE LOCATED. THE CAR HAS BEEN RETURNED TO A LOCAL DEALER ON 3 SEPERATE OCCASIONS. THEY CONTINUE TO REPAIR THE PROBLEM BY INSTALLING SOME TYPE OF PADDING IN THE DASH. AFTER EACH REPAIR, THE NOISE RETURNS AFTER DRIVING ABOUT 10 MILES. I HAVE ASKED THEM ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS TO REMOVE THE DASH/AIR BAGS AND INSPECT THE EFFECTED AREAS. I HAVE ALSO REPORTED THE PROBLEM TO THE HONDA CUSTOMER ASSISTANCE DEPARTMENT. THEY HAVE INDICATED THEY WILL REVIEW MY INFORMATION AND HAVE SOMEONE CALL BACK.
