2009 HONDA ACCORD AIRBAGS DIDN'T DEPLOY WITH RADIATOR WRAPPED AROUND ENGINE ON A FRONT END CRASH. THE OTHER VEHICLE WAS A JEEP AND WAS HIT IN THE SIDE AND ALL THE AIRBAGS WERE DEPLOYED. THIS WAS NOT A MINOR ACCIDENT AS THEY ARE THINKING OF TOTALING OUT THE VEHICLE. MY MOTHER IN LAW WEIGHS AROUND 100 POUNDS, BUT THE AIRBAGS SHOULD HAVE BEEN DEPLOYED. SHE WAS TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL, WITH CHEST INJURIES. *TR
2009 HONDA ACCORD SEDAN. CONSUMER STATES DESIGN PROBLEM FOUND WITH HEAD RESTRAINT. *TGW THE HEAD RESTRAINT WAS VERY UNCOMFORTABLE. *JB
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 HONDA ACCORD. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED SHE CHECKED THE OIL LEVEL AND THE VEHICLE WAS TWO QUARTS LOW. SHE ADDED A QUART OF OIL AND THE NEXT DAY THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO ALSO ADDED A QUART. SHE STATED THAT EVERY 1,000 TO 1,500 MILES THE DEALER HAD TO ADD A HALF TO 1 AND A HALF QUARTS OF OIL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 13,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 20,500.
I HAVE HAD UPPER BACK AND NECK PAIN FOR ABOUT 3 YEARS NOW AND COULD NOT FIGURE OUT WHY. I'VE RECENTLY GONE TO A BACK PAIN SPECIALIST AND FOUND THAT MY PROBLEM HAS BEEN CAUSED BY MY POSTURE, MAINLY FROM THE NEWER CARS I'VE BEEN DRIVING THE PAST COUPLE YEARS. I'VE NOW BOUGHT AND SOLD SEVERAL CARS IN THE PAST 3 YEARS THINKING "I JUST NEED A LARGER MORE COMFORTABLE CAR" HOWEVER THAT I NOT THE CASE. THE KNOWN FACT THAT AUTOMOBILE SEATS ARE "VERY UNCOMFORTABLE" MADE SO BY THE FORWARD DESIGN OF THE HEADREST, CAUSING YOUR HEAD TO BENT FORWARD WHILE DRIVING. TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM, I'VE TURNED MY HEADREST AROUND BACKWARDS "NOT TOO SAFE" TO RELIEVE MY NECK PAIN AND THIS HAS WORKED, BUT IT IS VERY UNSAFE.....BUT I HAVE NO CHOICE ANOTHER EXAMPLE, I AM RENTING A CAR BECAUSE MY HONDA IS AT THE BODY SHOP. THE RENTAL CAR COMPANY GAVE ME A 2012 CHEVY MALIBU "IT IS EVEN WORSE" I STARTED DRIVING THIS CAR AT 5AM THIS MORNING AND WITHIN 10 MILES, I WAS IN SEVERE PAIN. THE PROBLEM NOW IS I CANNOT TURN THIS HEADREST AROUND BACKWARDS AS IT APPEARS YOU ARE NOT ABLE TO REMOVE THE HEADREST TO TURN IT AROUND. TO RESOLVE THIS, I'LL BE TURNING THIS CAR BACK IN TODAY IN AN ATTEMPT TO GET A DIFFERENT CAR THAT MIGHT ALLOW ME TO DRIVE WITHOUT SEVERE NECK AND BACK PAIN. PLEASE - CHANGE THE HEADREST REQUIREMENT "NOW" TO ALLOW A SAFE BUT MORE COMFORTABLE RIDE WHILE DRIVING. I'VE NOW DRIVEN A 2006 CIVIC, 2009 ACCORD AND A 2012 MALIBU IN THE PAST 3 YEARS AND ALL THREE VEHICLES ARE VERY UNCOMFORTABLE. AT LEAST THE HONDA'S YOU CAN REMOVE THE HEADREST AND TURN THEM AROUND. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THAT THE OIL PRESSURE LIGHT JUST COMES ON IN THE CAR, IT STARTS BUCKING AND IS IMPOSSIBLE TO DRIVE. I WAS ON A 50 MPH HIGHWAY BOTH TIMES IT HAPPENED. I'M LUCKY NO ONE HIT ME. I ONLY HAVE 17,000 MILES ON MY CAR. I HAVE HAD 4 OIL CHANGES, ONE TOW AND 2 CHECK UPS ON THE VEHICLE FOR OIL RELATED PROBLEMS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 HONDA ACCORD. THE CONTACT STARTED THE IGNITION AND THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START UNTIL THE STEERING WHEEL WAS IN A TILTED POSITION. SUDDENLY, THE "DANGER" WARNING LIGHT INDICATOR ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL, FOLLOWED BY AN UNINTENDED ACCELERATION. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT IS IN THE PROCESS OF NOTIFYING THE AUTHORIZED DEALER OF THE MALFUNCTION. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN A LIGHT ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL COMES ON OR GOES OFF? YOU LOOK AT IT - TAKING YOUR EYES OFF THE ROAD. THE 'ECO' LIGHT (NOTIFICATION OF CYLINDER DEACTIVATION FEATURE BEING DIS/ACTIVATED) LOCATED JUST BELOW THE TACHOMETER REGULARLY COMES ON AND OFF CAUSING A DISTRACTION. ASKED MULTIPLE DEALERS, THEY HAVE NO WAY OF DISABLING THIS DISTRACTING LIGHT. AT FIRST, I FIGURED I WOULD BE ACCUSTOMED TO THE LIGHT GOING ON AND OFF ALL THE TIME; HAVING HAD THE CAR FOR 9+ MONTHS IT STILL ANNOYS ME. I HAVE NO ISSUE WITH THE ECO FEATURE, JUST THE STUPID, DISTRACTING LIGHT. *TR
I PURCHASED A 2009 HONDA ACCORD WITHIN THE PAST FEW MONTHS. I WAS LOOKING INTO A PROBLEM WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE OF MINE AND STUMBLED ACROSS AN ISSUE MANY IF NOT ALL 08' AND 09' ACCORD OWNERS ARE FACING. COUNTLESS CONSUMERS REPORT DEFECTS WITH THE REAR BRAKES. MOSTLY THAT THEY NEED TO BE REPLACED EVERY 12,000 MILES. DEALERSHIPS ARE TELLING THE CONSUMER THIS IS THE NORMAL WEAR PERIOD FOR THE REAR BRAKES. THIS OF COURSE IS NOT TRUE, THE FRONT BRAKES ARE THE ONES THAT USUALLY GO FIRST AT AROUND 50,000 DEPENDING ON DRIVING, CONDITIONS, ETC. I LEARNED HONDA IS USING SOFT SMALL ORGANIC PADS. FURTHERMORE I'VE LEARNED OF THE DEALERSHIPS UNWILLINGNESS TO COVER THE COST OF THE PADS AND LABOR FROM STATE TO STATE. THERE IS A SERIOUS DESIGN FLAW REGARDING THE BRAKE SYSTEM. MY ACCORD CURRENTLY HAS ONLY 4,000 MILES ON IT. THOUGH I HAVE NOT YET EXPERIENCED THE PROBLEM EVERYONE ELSE HAS, I KNOW IT IS COMING. IT MAY SEEM ODD FOR SOMEONE TO REPORT A PROBLEM THAT HAS NOT HAPPENED YET, HOWEVER THE NEED TO BE PROACTIVE REGARDING THIS MATTER WILL NO DOUBT SAVE LIVES. AS A POLICE OFFICER IN TEXAS, I SEE THE GRIM REALITY OF WHAT HAPPENS WHEN VEHICLES ARE DRIVEN BEYOND THEIR MEANS OR WHEN THE VITAL SYSTEMS OF THESE VEHICLES ARE DEFECTIVE. IF THESE PADS CAN'T HANDLE "NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR" THEY CERTAINLY WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PROVIDE ADEQUATE STOPPING POWER DURING A HARMFUL EVENT. WE ALL CARE ABOUT SAFETY AND OUR FAMILIES WELFARE. PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS MATTER. OUR SAFETY SHOULD NEVER BE COMPROMISED OVER THE GAIN OR LOSS OF A DOLLAR. LETS FIX THIS NOW, NOT AFTER A MAJOR INCIDENT. 2009 HONDA ACCORD THERE ARE SERIOUS BRAKE NOISE PROBLEMS AND PREMATURE BRAKE WEAR ISSUES ON THESE CARS. *TR
I HAVE RECENTLY PURCHASED A 2009 HONDA ACCORD LX-PREMIUM AND BELIEVE THAT THE FRONT SEATS ARE UNSAFE. I BELIEVE THAT THE FEATURE TO MOVE THE HEADREST FORWARD IN THE EVENT OF A REAR-END COLLISION PUTS THE UPPER-BACK REGION OF THE SEAT TOO FAR FORWARD, CREATING A VERY UNCOMFORTABLE REGION WITH LITTLE LOWER-BACK SUPPORT. I FIND THAT MY LOWER-BACK ACHES AFTER AN HOUR OF DRIVING, AND NEEDED TO LEAN UP AGAINST THE STEERING WHEEL WHILE DRIVING TO RELIEVE THE PAIN. I BELIEVE THIS IS UNSAFE IF THE AIRBAG DEPLOYED. I HAVE RESORTED TO PUTTING A BOLSTER PILLOW IN THE LUMBAR REGION, BUT THIS AGAIN PLACES ME TOO CLOSE TO THE AIRBAG, ON THE EDGE OF THE SEAT, AND NO MORE SEAT ADJUSTMENT IS POSSIBLE. I HAVE SEEN THESE COMMENTS ON-LINE AS WELL, AND SOME HAVE BEEN CUTTING INTO THE SEATS TO DISABLE THE HEADREST FEATURE, WITH MIXED RESULTS. I DON'T WANT TO OPEN THE SEATS TO PERFORM THESE ACTIONS SINCE THE SIDE AIRBAGS ARE IN THE SEATBACKS. I THINK THESE FRONT SEATS SHOULD BE PROMPTLY RECALLED IN ORDER TO FIX THIS DESIGN DEFECT. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 HONDA ACCORD. WHILE IN A STOPPED POSITION, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE RIGHT PASSENGER SIDE HEAD LIGHT HAD STARTED TO SMOKE THEN IT CAUGHT FIRE. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS NOTIFIED AND THEY EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE INSURANCE COMPANY CONTACTED THE DEALER AND THE CONTACT WAS AWAITING AN INVESTIGATION. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE APPROXIMATELY 25,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
2009 HONDA ACCORD 4 CYLINDER, 22K MILES-ORIGINAL OWNER ACCELERATOR GOT STUCK AND CAR CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE ON THE ON RAMP TO I-64 IN LOUISVILLE, KY. TRIED TO DOWNSHIFT, EVEN TRIED NEUTRAL. ENGAGED THE BRAKES AND THE BRAKES LOCKED UP. EVENTUALLY THE BRAKES RELEASED AND I WAS ABLE TO COAST TO A MEDIAN IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY. VERY THANK I DIDN'T HURT ANYONE. TOOK CAR TO THE HONDA DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAY THAT THEIR DIAGNOSTIC TEST SHOWS THAT NOTHING IS WRONG. NOTHING REGISTERED ON THE CAR COMPUTER. I AM 100% CERTAIN THAT THE PEDAL WAS NOT CAUGHT ON THE FLOOR MAT. ONE OF THE MOST FRIGHTENING EXPERIENCES OF MY LIFE. I WILL BE BUYING A NEW CAR IMMEDIATELY. *TR
REAR BRAKES ARE HAVING TO REPLACED AT 16,000-20,000 MILES, CALLED HONDA DEALER THEY SAID IT IS A PROBLEM IN THE 2008 AND 2009 MODELS ,THE ENGINEERS PUT REAR BRAKES THAT ARE TOO SMALL ON THE CAR. HONDA CORPORATE OFFICE KNOWS IT IS A PROBLEM AND ARE LOGGING COMPLAINTS AT THIS TIME. MY CONCERN IS THAT I HAVE A 6 CYLINDER AND THAT IT IS A HEAVIER CAR THEN THE 4 CYLINDER VERSION. *TR
THIS COMPLAINT IS REGARDING THE SEAT RAILS FOR 2009 HONDA ACCORD. ASIDE FROM THE RAILS PROVIDING A BUMPY ADJUSTMENT VIA THE POWER CONTROLS, THE SEAT ITSELF LUNGES FORWARD AND BACKWARD DURING BRAKING AND ACCELERATION. THIS EXPERIENCE LEADS ONE TO BELIEVE THAT THE SEAT IS NOT PROPERLY ATTACHED TO THE FRAME OF THE CAR WHICH CREATES A DIRE SAFETY CONCERN. IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH, WILL THE SEAT DISLODGE? *TR
THIS IS THE SECOND HONDA ACCORD THAT I HAVE BOUGHT THAT HAD PREMATURE BRAKE FAILURE. THE FIRST HONDA ACCORD 1996 HAD TO HAVE NEW REAR BRAKES AND PADS AT AROUND 20,000 MILES. THIS 2009 HONDA ACCORD HAD PREMATURE BRAKE FAILURE AT 21,085. THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE!! THE BILL WAS 409.24 + TAX. ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS!!! *KB
I OWN A 2009 HONDA ACCORD . IT WAS PURCHASED AROUND OCTOBER 2008. ON JANUARY 21, 2010, IT WAS TAKEN TO OUR LOCAL HONDA DEALER DUE TO SQUEALING BRAKES. THE DEALER REPORTED THAT THE REAR BRAKES WERE WORN AND THE PADS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED EVEN THOUGH THERE IS ONLY 12,901 MILES OF USE ON THE CAR. ACCORDING TO THE DEALER, THIS HAS BEEN A COMMON PROBLEM WITH 2008 AND 2009 MODEL ACCORDS BECAUSE THE REAR BRAKES WERE REDUCED IN SIZE EVEN THOUGH MORE OF THE CAR'S BRAKING POWER WAS SHIFTED TO THE REAR AXLE. THE DEALER STATED THAT MANY RECENT HONDA ACCORDS WERE NEEDING REAR BRAKE PADS REPLACED WITHIN ONE YEAR AND IN AS FEW AS 7000 MILES OF USE. AS A "GOODWILL" GESTURE, THE DEALER AGREED TO REPLACE THE BRAKES FOR FREE. I THEN CONTACTED HONDA'S CORPORATE CUSTOMER SERVICE CENTER IN TORRANCE CALIFORNIA AND WAS INFORMED THAT HONDA IS AWARE OF THIS ISSUE, BUT DOES NOT CONSIDER IT A SAFETY MATTER AND HAS NOT ISSUED A SERVICE BULLETIN REGARDING THIS ISSUE. I BELIEVE THE MATTER IS A SAFETY ISSUE AS FEW DRIVERS WOULD ASSUME THAT THEIR REAR BRAKES MIGHT NEED TO BE REPLACED ANNUALLY OR AFTER AS FEW AS 10,000 MILES OF USE OR LESS. BY WAY OF COMPARISON, MY 2004 HONDA ACCORD HAS OVER 92,000 MILES AND THE BRAKES ARE STILL ORIGINAL. I URGE THE NHTSA TO INVESTIGATE THIS ISSUE PROMPTLY BEFORE A DRIVER HITS THE BRAKES IN A HONDA ACCORD AND DISCOVERS LITTLE OR NO BRAKE POWER DUE TO THE UNEXPECTEDLY FEW MILES SUCH BRAKES WORK BEFORE NEEDING TO BE REPLACED. *TR
WHILE DRIVING MY 2009 HONDA ACCORD TO WORK ON 1/15/10 THE STEERING MALFUNCTIONED THROWING ME INTO THE LEFT LANE THE STEERING WHEEL MOVED BACK AND FORTH ON IT'S ON AND I HAD NO CONTROL OF THE STEERING UNTIL I HIT MY BRAKE AND THE CAR WAS THROWN TO THE RIGHT. I HAD NO NOISE BUT BECAUSE OF THE FORCE INVOLVED THOUGHT I HAD SOMETHING BREAK ON THE FRONT END OR BLEW OUT A TIRE. I STOPPED AND INSPECTED THE TIRES AND SO NO PROBLEM WITH THE FRONT END. I DECIDED TO GO ON TO WORK ABOUT 2 MILES DOWN THE ROAD THE SAME THING HAPPENED. I HAD MY CAR TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND AS OF YET THEY HAVE FOUND NOTHING WRONG. THEY HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO DUPLICATE MY EXPERIENCE AS OF 1/22/10 THEY SAY THERE IS NOTHING WRONG. I'M SCARED TO DEATH TO DRIVE IT AFRAID I WILL GET HURT OR HURT SOME ONE ELSE. BRAKES MAKING A NOISE, TURNED ROTORS AND REPLACED PADS, PROBLEM RETURNED IN JAN.10, ROTORS TURNED AGAIN, HONDA SAID FAULTY PADS WAS THE CLAUSE REPLACED ONCE MORE, CALL HAD LESS THEN 4,000 MILES ON IT FIRST TIME, APPROX.7000 SECOND, I THINK ROTORS SHOULD NOT BE MILLED OVER ONCE AND THEN ROTORS REPLACED ,THEY WILL NOT HEAR OF THAT. STRANGE WHINE COMING FROM BOTTOM RIGHT SIDE OF TRANSMISSION OR ENGINE, HONDA CLAIMED SERVICE BULLETIN CALL FOR OIL PUMP TO BE REPLACED, WHICH THEY CHANGE, NO CHANGE IN THE SOUND PLUS NOW THERE IS A LEAK FROM WHERE THEY MADE REPAIR. *TR
2009 ACCORD COUPE V6 - BRAKE NOISE (SQUEAL) PRESENT SINCE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED IN 3/09 SO I PERFORMED REGULAR VISUAL INSPECTIONS AND NOTICED PRONOUNCED WEAR OF REAR PADS. AT 13K MI - TOOK CAR TO DEALER WHO REPLACED REAR PADS UNDER WARRANTY (AFTER ORIGINALLY TELLING ME THAT THEY WERE A WEAR ITEM THEREFORE NOT COVERED BUT I BALKED DUE AT PAYING KNOWING THE HIGH NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS FOR THIS SAME ISSUE). TOLD NEW PADS HAVE SAME FORMULA BUT NEW SPRING TO FORCE PAD AWAY FROM ROTOR AFTER BRAKE PEDAL IS RELEASED. INSPECTION OF ORIGINAL PADS SHOWED MAYBE 10% PAD REMAINING AND CHIPPING OF PAD SURFACE. *TR
PURCHASED 2009 HONDA ACCORD IN OCT. 2008. AT AROUND 15K MILES, THE BRAKES STARING SQUEAKING AND MAKING LOUD NOISE IN THE REAR BRAKES. I THOUGHT IT WAS SOMETHING LOOSE BACK THERE AND KEPT DRIVING. THEN AROUND 24K MILES THE NOISE CAME BACK AND WAS UNBEARABLE. TOOK TO DEALERSHIP COMPLAINED BRAKES WORE OUT TOO QUICKLY. SAID IT WAS NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR AND I HAD TO REPLACE BRAKE PADS AND RESURFACE ROTORS. PAID $130.00, DEALER GAVE FREE PADS, BUT MADE ME PAY TO RESURFACE ROTORS. TOLD ME THE FRONT BRAKES WILL HAVE TO BE REPLACED SOON CAUSE CAR SHAKES WHEN BRAKING, ROTORS NEED IMMEDIATE RESURFACING. IF I DIDN'T TAKE IN ASAP, THIS COULD OF CAUSE AN ACCIDENT DUE TO ME BEING OUT OF TOWN WHEN PROBLEMS STARTING TO OCCUR. *TR
EXTREME OVERINTENSITY OF BRAKE LIGHTS ON LATE MODEL HONDA ACCORD SEDANS (THROUGH MY2009) AND TOYOTA CAMRY CARS (THROUGH 2010). THESE LED LIGHTS CAUSE SEVERE EYE DISCOMFORT TO MOTORISTS BEHIND THESE CARS, ESPECIALLY AT NIGHT. *TR
I PURCHASED A NEW 2009 HONDA ACCORD IN NOVEMBER 2008. THE DAY AFTER I PULLED OFF OF THE LOT I NOTICED EXTREME SQUEALING COMING FROM THE BRAKES. I REPORTED THE PROBLEM TO MY DEALER AND THEY SAID IT WOULD JUST NEED TO BREAK IN. 1 YEAR, 14000 MILES, AND 3 COMPLAINTS LATER IT WAS STILL MAKING THE NOISE. I FOUND A SERVICE BULLETIN NUMBER ONLINE AND MENTIONED THIS TO MY DEALER WHO FINALLY REPLACED THE FRONT BRAKES AND RETOOLED THE ROTORS. I AM READING OF MANY PREMATURE FAILURES OF THE REAR BRAKES ON 2008-09 ACCORDS ALSO. I FEEL THIS SHOULD BE LOOKED INTO BY THE GOVERNMENT. *TR
WHILE DRIVING AT 30 MPH, VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED TO A HIGH RATE OF SPEED. DIFFICULTY STOPPING THE CAR. IT WAS NECESSARY TO PLACE IN NEUTRAL AND TURN ENGINE OFF. HONDA DEALERSHIP CHECKED VEHICLE AND COULD NOT PROVIDE AN EXPLANATION FOR THIS PROBLEM. FEARFUL OF THIS OCCURRING AGAIN. *TR
PREMATURE WEAR AND WARPING OF BRAKE ROTORS. NOTICED ROTORS REQUIRED RESURFACING DUE TO VIBRATION DURING BRAKING. DEALERSHIP TURNED ROTORS, DROVE VEHICLE FOR APPROXIMATELY 700 MILES, AND THE PROBLEM RECURRED. RETURNED TO DEALERSHIP AND ALL ROTORS WERE REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY. PADS WERE ALSO REPLACED WITH MERELY 7000 MILES. DEALERSHIP STATED THAT THE LIFE EXPECTANCY OF BRAKE PADS FOR THIS VEHICLE WAS ABOUT 10,000 MILES. I FIND THAT TO BE ABSURD, TYPICALLY BRAKE PADS WILL LAST 20K-30K MILES. THERE APPEARS TO BE A FLAW IN THE MATERIALS USED TO MANUFACTURE THE PADS, IN THE MANUFACTURING PROCESS, OR PERHAPS THE BRAKE ASSEMBLY IS INAPPROPRIATE FOR THIS VEHICLE WEIGHT, CAUSING THE ROTOR TO OVER TEMP AND WARP IF NOT CAPABLE TO DISSIPATE THE EXCESS HEAT. 2009 HONDA ACCORD, TRIM LEVEL EX, ENGINE V6 WITH NAVIGATION SYSTEM. AT REGULAR SERVICE, DEALER ADVISED REAR BRAKE PADS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. CAR HAD, AT THAT TIME, 16,354 MILES ON THE ODOMETER. DETERIORATION IS FOUR TIMES MORE THAN FRONT BRAKE PADS. HONDA IS AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM ON ALL 2008 AND 2009 HONDA ACCORDS BUT HAS NEVER NOTIFIED INDIVIDUAL OWNERS OF THE PROBLEM. DEALERS HAVE BEEN ADVISED BY HONDA TO OFFER OWNERS A PARTIAL REFUND ON BRAKE PAD REPLACEMENTS. HOWEVER, THE REPLACEMENT DOES NOT ALLEVIATE THE PROBLEM. THE OWNER WOULD AGAIN HAVE TO REPLACE THE BRAKE PADS EVERY 15,000 MILES OR LESS. HONDA CONTINUES TO SELL THESE CARS NEW WITHOUT ADVISING THE POTENTIAL BUYER THAT THE VEHICLE HAS A MAJOR REAR BRAKE PAD PROBLEM. I FEEL HONDA IS ATTEMPTING TO HIDE THE PROBLEM TO AVOID A RECALL AND TO LESSEN THEIR FINANCIAL LIABILITY. RESEARCH INTO THIS PROBLEM ON THE INTERNET REVEALS THAT THOUSANDS OF OWNERS HAVE THIS PROBLEM FOR WHICH HONDA REFUSES TO ACCEPT LIABILITY. I CONSIDER SUCH PREMATURE BRAKE PAD WEAR EXPOSES THE OWNER TO POTENTIAL BRAKE FAILURE RESULTING IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 HONDA ACCORD LX. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE TIRE PRESSURE WARNING LIGHT (TPMS) ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY A DEALER AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED DUE TO THE AIR TEMPERATURE CHANGING. UPON LEAVING THE DEALER, THE FAILURE CONTINUED TO OCCUR INTERMITTENTLY. THE CONTACT HAD THE TIRES INSPECTED BY THE MANUFACTURER TO DETERMINE IF THE PROBLEM WAS WITHIN THE TIRES. THE MANUFACTURER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE TIRES YET THEY ALSO STATED THERE COULD POSSIBLY BE A SLOW LEAK. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE 2009 HONDA ACCORD HAS A PROBLEM WITH THE DRIVERS SIDE FRONT HEAD REST. I CONTINUALLY PLACE THE HEADREST IN THE DOWN POSITION HOWEVER BECAUSE OF IT'S DESIGN, WHEN I GET INTO THE CAR AND MY BACK MAKES CONTACT WITH THE BACK OF THE SEAT IT ALSO MAKES CONTACT WITH THE HEADREST CAUSING THE HEADREST TO RISE UP TO THE HIGHEST POSITION MAKING IT HARD TO LOOK BEHIND YOU WHEN YOU BACK UP. I BOUGHT MY CAR BRAND NEW IN JULY 2009, IN NOV. 2009 I STARTED HAVING ISSUES WITH THE DOOR ACTUATORS. SINCE NOV. 2009 THEY HAVE FIXED MY ACTUATORS 7 TIMES, 4 TIMES IN 2012. I ALSO HAVE HAD THE CENTER ARM REST REPLACED TWICE DUE TO BUBBLING (NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AGAIN). ABOUT 3 WEEKS AGO I WAS UNABLE TO LOCK MY CAR FROM THE INSIDE. THIS BRINGS UP A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE. I HAVE ALSO INFORMED THE DEALERSHIP THAT MY ACTUATORS ARE GOING AGAIN IN MY CAR. IN AUGUST 2014, THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME I WOULD HAVE TO PAY SINCE MY CAR IS OUT OF WARRANTY. WHEN I WAS UNABLE TO LOCK MY CAR FROM THE INSIDE I DECIDED TO CONTACT HONDA. THEY REFUSE TO FIX THE ISSUE BECAUSE MY CAR IS OUT OF WARRANTY AND HAS 83,000 MILES ON IT. EVEN THOUGH THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING ISSUE SINCE NOV. 2009. MY STEERING WHEEL HAS ALSO CRACKED AND THE CASING HAS HAD TO BE REPLACED. THE VTC ACTUATOR HAD TO BE REPAIRED ( I HAD TO PERSONALLY DO RESEARCH AND DIAGNOSE MY CARS' ISSUE AND FIND THE SERVICE BULLETIN IN ORDER FOR THE DEALERSHIP TO COVER/FIX IT). MY CAR HAS RUN OUT OF OIL AND HAD TO GO THROUGH AN OIL CONSUMPTION TEST (YET MY GAUGE STILL SAID 30%). THE ARM REST ON THE DRIVERS DOOR HAS ALSO HAD TO BE REPLACED DUE TO BUBBLING AND SLICING IN THE "LEATHER". AFTER ALL OF THESE ISSUES, HONDA STILL REFUSES TO FIX THE ACTUATOR PROBLEM BECAUSE MY CAR IS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY. I TAKE EXCELLENT CARE OF MY CAR AND EXPECT HONDA TO STAND BEHIND THEIR PARTS/PRODUCTS/CARS, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT BECOMES A SAFETY ISSUE AND THE CAR CANNOT BE LOCKED FROM THE INSIDE. *TR

FOR HONDA TO BE NUMBER ONE FOR GOOD VALUE WITH THERE CARS IT IS NOT APPARENT NOW. I PURCHASED THE EXTENDED WARRANTY AND IT IS NOT COVERED DUE TO ROAD DEBRIS NOT MANUFACTURE MALFUNCTION. THE COMPANY CLAIMS THIS IS NOT COVERED UNDER THE WARRANTY, AND WILL NOT COVER THE COST OF REPLACING THE BRAKES.
