THE SRS INDICATOR STAYS ON PERMANENT AND THE BRAKES HAVE TO CHANGE AGAIN AFTER ONLY 6 MONTHS. CALLED HONDA HEADQUARTERS AND WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS A RECALL FOR SRS IN 2011 BUT MY VIN NUMBER WAS NOT ON THE RECALL LIST AND THE MY VECHICLE IS OUT OF WARRANTY. I BOUGHT MY CAR AS A USED CAR AT HERB CHAMBERS IN 2010 AND THE ACCORDING TO THEM THE CAR WAS ALREADY OUT OF WARRANTY. I NEED THEM TO CALL THE DEALERSHIP AND HAVE ME TAKE THE CAR IN FOR DIAGNOSTIC AND HAVE THE ISSUE FIXED WITHOUT ME ABSORBING THE COST. *JS
I AM CURRENTLY HAVING WATER LEAKAGE FROM THE HEADLINER RIGHT WHERE THE SIDE CURTAIN AIRBAGS ARE LOCATED. THIS IS OCCURRING ON BOTH THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. I AM CONCERNED NOT ONLY FOR THE DAMAGE THIS IS CAUSING TO MY VEHICLE BUT BECAUSE IF I WERE TO BE IN AN ACCIDENT I AM AFRAID THAT AIRBAGS WILL MALFUNCTION AND NOT DEPLOY. *TR
AIR BAG FAILURE INDICATOR CAME ON. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER AND WAS ADVISED THAT AIR BAG NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AS IT HAD FAILED. *TR
WHENEVER I TURN MY STEERING WHEEL IN EITHER DIRECTION, IT MAKES A NOISE. TOOK IT TO HONDA DEALER AND THEY ARE NOW REPLACING THE STEERING WHEEL COLUMN AND ASKING ME TO PAY SOME $800. I SEE THAT THIS IS A REGULAR HONDA ACCORD PROBLEM, NOT SURE WHY I HAVE TO BEAR THE COST.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 HONDA ACCORD. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH WHEN THE CONTACT HEARD A GRINDING SOUND NEAR THE DRIVER SIDE WHEEL. ALSO, THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC REPLACED THE DRIVER SIDE WHEEL BEARING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 18,000.
THERE IS A LOUD RATTLING NOISE COMING FROM THE ENGINE (WHICH LASTS FOR A COUPLE OF SECONDS) WHEN I START THE CAR. THE NOISE WORSENS IN LOUDNESS AND DURATION IN THE COLD WEATHER.
I HAVE A 2009 HONDA ACCORD AND RECENTLY NOTICED A CLICKING SOUND IN THE WHEEL WHEN I TURN EITHER DIRECTION. THE CLICKING HAS BECOME PROGRESSIVELY WORSE. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE HONDA MECHANIC AND THEY NOTICED THE NOISE AS WELL BUT DID NOT KNOW WHAT IT WAS. SINCE THEN THE CLICKING CONTINUES. *TR
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
12 VOLT POSITIVE CONNECTION FOR BATTERY GET CORROSION. THE CONNECTION WAS COVERED BY PLASTIC COVER SO I COULD NOT SEE ANY DAMAGE UNTIL MY CAR DIDN'T START. I WAS LUCKY BECAUSE IT WAS HAPPENED AT MY GARAGE. HOWEVER, I AM VERY SCARED BY THIS PROBLEM. BECAUSE, I DO NOT HAVE ANY PROTECTION WITHOUT BATTERY IF THE TERMINAL IS DISCONNECTED ON THE HIGHWAY. THIS PROBLEM IS THE SAME OR MORE DANGEROUS AS GM'S IGNITION KEY RECALL. PLEASE RESEARCH HOW MANY HONDA VEHICLES HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM, AND HOW MANY PEOPLE GOT INJURY OR FATALITY AS QUICK AS POSSIBLE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 HONDA ACCORD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE TRAVELING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS FOUND THAT THE ENGINE FAILED DUE TO HIGH OIL CONSUMPTION. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED ABOUT THE FAILURE.THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
WHILE PULLING INTO PARKING SPACE, WITH FOOT ON THE BRAKE PEDAL, THE VEHICLE VIOLENTLY LUNGED FORWARD INTO A BLOCK WALL. THE DRIVER WAS UNABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE BY APPLYING THE BRAKES. THE DRIVER WAS HOSPITALIZED FOR 2 DAYS. *TR
KNOCKING RATTLE DRIVERS SIDE FRONT. *TR
I WAS DRIVING MY 2009 HONDA ACCORD ON THE INTERSTATE I-44 EAST NEAR FORT LEONARD WOOD MISSOURI. NO OTHER VEHICLES WERE IN FRONT OF ME OR AROUND ME. WEATHER WAS CLEAR, TEMPERATURE WAS IN THE MID 50S. NO IMPACT TO THE VEHICLE OCCURRED. THE SUNROOF ON MY VEHICLE SPONTANEOUSLY SHATTERED AND EXPLODED SENDING GLASS THROUGHOUT THE INTERIOR OF THE CAR. FURTHER, WHILE CLEANING UP THE GLASS MANY OF THE PIECES WERE SHARP AND GLASS SPLINTERS WERE PREVALENT. THERE WERE NUMEROUS NICKS AND CUTS ON MY HANDS AND MY SON'S HANDS FROM CLEANING UP THE GLASS WHICH WAS EVERYWHERE. IF ANYONE HAD BEEN IN THE BACK SEAT OF THE CAR (PARTICULARLY A CHILD), THEY COULD HAVE BEEN SERIOUSLY HURT. MY SON WITNESSED THIS AS WELL - HE WAS SITTING IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. AGAIN, BOTH OF US CAN CONFIRM THAT THERE WERE NO VEHICLES IN FRONT OR TO THE SIDE OF US AND NOTHING HAPPENED (SUCH AS A ROCK FROM A VEHICLE IN FRONT) THAT WOULD HAVE CAUSED THE SUNROOF TO SHATTER. FURTHER, THE FACT THAT IT SHATTERED THE WAY IT DID WITH SHARP GLASS AND SPLINTERING THROUGHOUT THE CAR IS PROBLEMATIC. I HAVE TRIED TO ADDRESS THIS MATTER WITH HONDA TO NO AVAIL. I CONSIDER THIS A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY ISSUE. A SUNROOF SHOULD NEVER EXPLODE IN THIS MATTER ABSENT A MANUFACTURING DEFECT. MORE IMPORTANTLY, HAD THOSE SMALL, SHARP SHARDS OF GLASS AND SPLINTERS HIT SOMEONE'S EYES IN THE BACKSEAT OF THE CAR, IT COULD HAVE RESULTED A VERY SERIOUS INJURY. BASED UPON SEARCHES ON THE INTERNET, OTHER HONDA OWNERS HAVE EXPERIENCED THE SAME OCCURRENCE. *TR
I HAVE A TERRIBLE PROBLEM WHEN DRIVING DURING THE DAYTIME. SUNLIGHT SHINES IN THROUGH THE WIND SHIELD ONTO THE DASH BOARD (DIRECTLY BEHIND MY STEERING WHEEL) AND REFLECTS THE DASH BOARD ONTO THE WIND SHIELD IN MY TOTAL FIELD OF VISION STRAIGHT AHEAD. I'M NOT SURE WHAT TO DO ABOUT THIS BUT I HAVE TO DO SOMETHING BECAUSE ITS LIKE TRYING TO SEE THROUGH A MUDDY GLASS AND IS VERY DANGEROUS. *TR
THE REAR BRAKES BEGAN MAKING A GRINDING AND HUMMING SOUND. AFTER TAKING IT TO A DEALERSHIP I WAS TOLD THAT THEY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AT A COST OF 348.00 DOLLARS. THEY FAILED ABOUT 40000 MILES BEFORE THE WARRANTIED DISTANCE OF 70000 MILES. I LATER FOUND A CLASS ACTION SETTLEMENT (BROWNE VS HONDA) IN WHICH IT WAS DETAILED THAT HONDA WAS TO PAY 150 DOLLARS FOR THE PARTS AND 125 DOLLARS FOR THE LABOR. I WAS NEVER NOTIFIED THAT MY BRAKE PADS WERE DEFECTIVE OR ISSUED A RECALL. THE CASE ONLY APPLIES TO VEHICLES UNDER 3 YEARS FROM ORIGINAL PURCHASE, BUT BECAUSE OF MY MILITARY SERVICE MY VEHICLE HAS ONLY HALF OF THE EXPECTED MILEAGE 6 YEARS AFTER I BOUGHT IT. I NOW EXPECTED TO SHOULDER THE COST OF DEFECTIVE PARTS AND LABOR AS WELL AS AN INHERENT RISK TO MY SAFETY BASED ON THE IMPORTANCE OF THE BRAKING SYSTEM. I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP THAT THEY WOULD NOT HONOR THE CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT AGAINST THEM, AND THAT IT WAS SOMEHOW MY PROBLEM NOW. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 HONDA ACCORD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT ALL OF THE DASHBOARD LIGHTS WERE HARDLY VISIBLE DURING DAYLIGHT. THE DEALER WAS ALERTED ABOUT THE FAILURE HOWEVER, STATED THAT IT WAS A DESIGN DEFECT. THE MANUFACTURE WAS NOT ALERTED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 48,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 HONDA ACCORD. THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT THE REAR BRAKES BECAME WORN PREMATURELY. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE REAR BRAKE LINE AND REAR BRAKE PADS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 15,000.
LOUD WHINING NOISES COMING FROM THE REAR WHEELS WHEN THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED, CAUSED US TO HAVE THE LOCAL HONDA DEALER CHECK THE BRAKES. THE REAR BRAKE PADS WERE VERY BADLY WORN THROUGH. THE CAR IS DRIVEN AT HIGHWAY SPEED APPROXIMATELY 50% OF THE TIME, MEANING THE BRAKES WOULD NOT HAVE EXCESSIVE USE. THE DEALER TOLD US THAT THE TYPE OF DRIVING WE DO AND HOW WE DRIVE CAUSED THE PROBLEM. WE HAVE SINCE LEARNED THAT HONDA HAS HAD TWO CLASS ACTION LAW SUITS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM, HERE IS THE UNITED STATES AND CANADA. THE SETTLEMENT DOES NOT BENEFIT US SINCE THE CAR WAS PURCHASED NEW IN JULY 2009. WE HAVE ALSO LEARNED THAT MANY DRIVERS MUST REPEATEDLY REPLACE THESE BRAKE PADS. SINCE THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE, HONDA SHOULD BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE NOW AND IN THE FUTURE. *TR
STARTED FROM STOP AT LIGHT INTERSECTION AND ACCELERATED WHILE MAKING A LEFT TURN. AFTER LETTING OFF ACCELERATOR AND NOW GOING STRAIGHT, FOUND CAR WAS STILL ACCELERATING AT FULL THROTTLE. BEGAN HEAVILY STEPPING ON BRAKE WITH CONTINUED UNINTENDED ACCELERATION CONTINUING. SHIFTED FROM DRIVE TO NEUTRAL AND RPM METER SHOWED ENGINE REVVING TOWARD 7000 RPM AND DECIDED TO GO BACK TO DRIVE GEAR TO AVOID CAUSING ENGINE DAMAGE WHILE STILL HEAVILY STEPPING ON BRAKE. UNINTENDED ACCELERATION CONTINUED IN DRIVE GEAR AND AFTER SEVERAL MORE SECONDS, I TURNED THE IGNITION OFF WHILE IN DRIVE GEAR. ENGINE SUCCESSFULLY SHUT OFF AND I CONTINUED TO KEEP FOOT ON BRAKE AND STEERING THE CAR TO A PARKING LOT. AFTER CAR CAME TO A STOP IN PARKING LOT, PUT THE GEAR BACK TO PARK MODE AND PROCEEDED TO START THE CAR IGNITION (I HAVE NOT TOUCHED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL AT ALL SINCE REALIZING THE UNINTENDED ACCELERATION HAD OCCURRED). CAR STARTED AS NORMAL WITH NORMAL IDLE SPEED IN PARK. DROVE THE CAR TO DEALER AND HAD DEALER CHECK FOR CODES AND TAKE IT FOR A TEST DRIVE. NOTHING ABNORMAL WAS FOUND DURING CODE READING AND TEST DRIVE. DEALER SAID THAT DRIVER SIDE RUG COULD HAVE CAUSED ACCELERATOR TO STICK BUT THIS IS NOT LIKELY CAUSE (IN MY OPINION) BECAUSE THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL SHOULD THEN HAVE STILL BEEN STUCK WHEN I RE-STARTED THE CAR IN THE PARKING LOT. *TR
I TOOK THE CAR TO MY MECHANIC ON 11/23/13 WITH COMPLAINTS OF NOISE WITH THE REAR WHEEL BRAKES. WHEN THEY CHECKED THIS OUT, THEY FOUND THE REAR BREAKS HAD WORN OUT AND HAD TO REPLACE THE ROTOR AND THE BRAKE PADS. I HAD THEM DO THE PA STATE & EMISSION INSPECTION EARLY (WERE DUE IN JANUARY 14) WHILE THEY HAD THE CAR. THE TOTAL COST INCLUDING INSPECTION WAS $361.05. THE COST OF THE BRAKE PADS & ROTORS WERE $328.10. I TOOK MY CAR TO HONDA DEALER IN HAMILTON, NJ ON 3/22/14 FORAN OIL CHANGE. DURING THIS VISIT THEY DID A MULTI POINT INSPECTION OF THE VEHICLE AND FOUND STATED THAT THE REAR BRAKES HAVE ONLY 5MM (6/32") LINING LEFT. THE MILEAGE AT THIS DATE WAS 36,995 (10,153 MILES AFTER THE LAST REPLACEMENT OF THE ROTORS AND PADS). I WAS SHOCKED TO HEAR THE LINING HAD WORN DOWN TO THIS THICKNESS SO QUICKLY. I WILL HAVE TO REPLACE THE BRAKE PADS AND ROTORS AGAIN BEFORE THE NEXT INSPECTION NOW DUE INNOVEMBER 2014, WHICH WILL COST ME ANOTHER $328.10. *TR
THE NOISE COMING FROM THE PASSENGER SIDE UNDER THE GLOVE BOX WHEN THE AIR IS ON IS ANNOYING AND PRETTY LOUD. THE RADIO CAN'T EVEN CONCEAL THE SOUND AT LOW VOLUME. LIKEWISE, THE GLOVE BOX ISN'T LATCHED ACCORDING TO THE LINES OF THE DASH (1 CM GAP). THE GLOVE BOX MOVES AND RATTLES. THE SEAT ALSO RATTLES AND SHAKES WHEN GOING OVER ANY SURFACE WHETHER HIGHWAY OR CITY STREETS... THESE NOISES ARE JUST TOO MUCH. THE CAR IS 09 NOT 1988. ACTUALLY 1988 PROBABLY WOULDN'T HAVE ALL THESE PROBLEMS. THE DEAL SAID THE AIR NOISE IS NORMAL??? SORRY IT'S NOT NORMAL TO NOT BE ABLE TO TALK TO SOMEONE BECAUSE THE CAR FEELS LIKE IT'S BREAKING DOWN AND NOISE IS COMING FROM EVERY DIRECTION. *TR
I REPLACE A REAR BRAKE PAD ON JULY 10,2010 JUST A YEAR AFTER PURCHASING A BRAND NEW CAR. IT WAS 18,257 MILES.AS OF OCTOBER 29 ,2013 I FACING A GAIN A SAME PROBLEM. MY MILEAGE NOW IT 60,000. IS HONDA STILL RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS PROBLEM? THANKS, *TR
POWER DOOR LOCKS DID NOT OPERATE FOR CAR DOORS OR TRUNK VIA THE REMOTE KEY FOB. THE KEY WOULD NOT MANUALLY UNLOCK THE CAR DOORS. THERE IS NO MANUAL KEY ACCESS FOR THE TRUNK. *TR
ENGINE LIGHT AND VSA WARNING LIGHT CAME ON WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY. LUCKILY MY FAMILY REACHED OUR DESTINATION SHORTLY AFTER THIS OCCURRED IN FONTANA, CA. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION IT WOULD JERK AND HESITATE BACKWARDS WHILE DRIVING. I TOOK IT TO ROCK HONDA THE FOLLOWING MORNING ON 10/18/2013 IN FONTANA, CA AND THEY CHARGED ME 638.60 STATING THE VEHICLE NEEDED A PCM UPDATED SOFTWARE AND ADJUSTED VALVES. IN DOING FURTHER RESEARCH IT SEEMS I SHOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN CHARGED THIS AS THERE IS A RECALL ID #74308 STATING ISSUES WITH THE PCM AND TCM AND THAT HONDA WOULD UPDATE THE CONTROL MODULE SOFTWARE FREE OF CHARGE. *TR
REPLACED REAR BRAKES TWICE IN 15MONTHS WITH LESS THAN 15000 MILES ON CAR. *TR
HONDA HAS A REAL PROBLEM HERE...THEY TRIED TO FIX IT WITH CERAMIC BRAKE PADS..WHAT THAT DID IS MAKE MORE HEAT FOR A UNDERSIZED BRAKE SYSTEM. IN MY CASE THIS HEAT CAUSED THE REAR CALIPERS TO TO STICK. IN AS LITTLE AS 10 MILES I COULD NOT TOUCH THE WHEEL.. IF I HAD DRIVEN ANOTHER 15+ MILES I BELIEVE FIRE WOULD HAVE STARTED..RIGHT BELOW THE GAS FILL CAP...NOT GOOD... SO NOT ONLY ARE MY REAR CALIPERS COOKED, ROTORS WARPED,BRAKE PADS SHOT, BRAKE FLUID BOILED...THE REAR HUB AND BEARING ASSEMBLY HAS HAD GREASE COOKED OUT OF IT AND MAKES NOISE...THIS PROBLEM GOES WAY PAST BRAKE PADS... *TR
HONDA HAS A REAR BRAKE PROBLEM WITH THIS CAR. REPLACING THE PADS DOES NOT CORRECT THIS PROBLEM. IN MY CASE THE REAR CALIPERS STUCK. THE WHEEL WAS TOO HOT TO TOUCH...THE WHEEL...THIS AFTER ONLY 8 MILES TO HOME FROM WORK. HONDA WENT TO A CERAMIC REAR PAD WHICH ONLY ADDED HEAT TO A REAR BRAKE SYSTEM THAT DOES NOT FIT THAT CAR....THE NEXT PROBLEM WILL BE REAR HUB ASSEMBLIES FAILING BECAUSE OF OVER HEATING...I BELIEVE HAD I DRIVEN 20 PLUS MILES THIS PROBLEM WOULD HAVE STARTED A FIRE..JUST BELOW THE GAS FILLER CAP ...NOT GOOD... HONDA HAS A PROBLEM AND NEEDS TO STEP UP ON THIS ONE. *TR
WHILE MAKING LANE CHANGE, SIDE CURTAIN AIRBAG, SEAT, AND SEATBELT RETRACTOR, DEPLOYED WITH OUT ANY CONTACT TO VEHICLE. 2009 HONDA ACCORD LOCATED IN ORLANDO. AIRBAGS, CONTROLLER MODULE, HEADLINER, AND SEAT HAVE NOT BEEN REPLACED YET. SEATBELT RETRACTOR WAS REPLACED WITH ORIGINAL HONDA PART. *TR
I HAVE 2009 HONDA ACCORD I PURCHASED FROM BAYRIDGE HONDA 23089 MILES AT 2011. TODAY 36700 MILES. WHEN I WAS DRIVING BROOKLYN QUEENS EXPRESSWAY TWO WEEKS AGO VSA AND ENGINE LIGHT IS ON. AND FEELING ENGINE IS VIBRATING& UNCONTROLLED BRAKE DISTANCE, TWO WEEKS AGO I VISIT MY CAR DEALER; THERE IS VSA & ENGINE LIGHT ON WHEN MY CAR 36500 MILES. BAYRIDGE HONDA SERVICE CHECKED THERE IS NO MISTAKE IN THE CAR. WHEN I BACK MY CAR ENGINE LIGHT IS OFF EVERYTHING LOOKING SMOOTH. (CHARGED 105.00$)FOLLOWING WEEKEND SHORT TRIP CONNECTICUT- NEW HAVEN (180 MILES) AND I RETURNED AS SOME PROBLEM ENGINE IS IRREGULAR WORKING OR STALLING WHEN IS WORKING. I CALLED AMERICAN HONDA BEFORE SERVICED MY CAR.JUST SUGGEST SERVICED YOUR CAR. FIRST VSA FOLLOWING ENGINES LIGHT AND UNCONTROLLED LOOSE BRAKE CONDITION IS CAME WHEN ENGINE NOT TAKE GAS IRREGULAR. ENGINE VIBRATION AND SHUT OFF ENGINE .MY PERSONAL AUTO TECHNICIAN TEST DRIVEN CAR WITH ME , HE DIAGNOSED SOME PROBLEM. SOMETHING IS RUNNING WRONGLY . THERE IS A KNOCKING NOISE COMING FROM THE STEERING WHEEL. TOOK IT INTO THE DEALERSHIP AND THE SERVICE MANAGER SAYS THE STEERING COLUMN NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. HE FURTHER COMMENTED THAT THERE IS A SERVICE BULLETIN ON THE DEFECT BUT HONDA HAS NOT ISSUED A RECALL. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE DUE TO THE FACT IT CAN OVER TIME AFFECT THE STEERING OF THE VEHICLE. THERE ARE MANY COMPLAINTS ONLINE ABOUT THIS ISSUE AND OBVIOUSLY HONDA KNOWS THERE IS A PROBLEM. THERE IS NO REASON FOR A CAR LESS THAN 4 YEARS OLD TO NEED THE STEERING COLUMN REPLACED. *LN
AROUND SEPTEMBER 6, 2013, WHILE DRIVING ON A SIDE STREET, MY PASSENGER SIDE FRONT AND REAR AIRBAGS DEPLOYED AFTER CLOSING THE CAR DOOR. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER WHO SAID THEY WOULD CONTACT AMERICAN HONDA WHO SAID THE CAR WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT, YES IT WAS BACK IN 2010. HONDA WON'T STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT AND SAID TO FILE AN INSURANCE CLAIM. IF YOU LOOK ONLINE THIS HAS HAPPENED TO SEVERAL HONDA OWNERS, WITH SEVERAL MAKES. IS HONDA WAITING FOR SOMEONE TO GET KILLED BEFORE ISSUING A RECALL? HONDA SAID I PROBABLY HIT A POTHOLE OR CURB, IF THAT WERE THE CASE THERE WOULD BE HUNDREDS OF THOUSAND AIR BAGS DEPLOYING. HONDA IN CALIFORNIA WON'T STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT. GLAD IT DID NOT HAPPEN ON A HIGHWAY WHERE SOMEONE COULD HAVE GOTTEN KILLED. MAYBE IF IT HAPPENED TO A HONDA CORPORATE EMPLOYEE'S CAR THEY MIGHT FIX IT!!! I HAVE PRINTED OUT PAGES UPON PAGES OF HONDA OWNERS THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED TO AND I WILL BE AT THE DEALERSHIP HANDING OUT THIS INFORMATION TO INCOMING CUSTOMERS TO LET THEM KNOW THEY ARE DOING NOTHING ABOUT A SAFETY ISSUE. MY HONDA HAS 57800 ON IT AND IS NOT COVERED!!! I SEARCHED THE INTERNET AND FOUND THAT MAY HONDA ACCORD OWNERS ARE VERY UNHAPPY WITH THE RESPONSE FROM HONDA WITH THIS PROBLEM THAT THEY KNOW THEY HAVE. A NOISE WAS COMING FROM THE ENGINE. I HAD IT CHECKED TWICE BY AN OUTSIDE MECHANIC THEN TWICE BY HONDA. THEY ALL AGREED THAT THERE ARE 2 ISSUES. ONE IS PER HONDA'S SERVICE BULLETIN 08-017, THE ROCKER SHAFT BRIDGE HAS EXCESSIVE CLEARANCE WHICH CAUSES THE ROCKER TO ROTATE AND MAKE NOISE. THE SECOND, AND MOST IMPORTANT, IS AN OIL CONSUMPTION ISSUE, OF WHICH HONDA IS WELL AWARE OF A PROBLEM. I CURRENTLY GET 755 MILES PER QUART. I CONTACTED AMERICAN HONDA AND THEY WILL NOT PAY FOR THE REPAIR. *TR

DRIVER DID NOT SEE OR HEAR, NOR WAS THERE ANY OBJECT IN THE ROAD THAT MIGHT CAUSE PRIOR DAMAGE TO THE TIRE -- IT JUST BLEW-OUT". THE TIRE WAS TOTALLY DESTROYED BY THE TIME THE DRIVER COULD DECREASE SPEED AND MOVE FROM THE FAR LEFT LANE ( OF THREE LANES ) TO THE SHOULDER. OWNER/DRIVER HAD DRIVEN 50,000+ THOUSAND MILES ON A PREVIOUS SET OF MICHELIN "PILOT" TIRES ( SAME SIZE, SAME CAR, SAME DRIVER, SAME VARIETY OF CONDITIONS ) WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS -- AND PLANS TO IMMEDIATELY REPLACE THE THREE REMAINING "PRIMACY" TIRES. *TR

UPON EXITING DRIVEWAY AND TRAVELING ABOUT 50 FEET, AUTO ACCELERATED AS IF THE GAS PEDAL HAD BEEN DRIVEN TO THE FLOOR. DRIVER SWERVED OFF THE ROADWAY INTO A TREE ABOUT TEN FEET FROM THE ROADWAY. AIRBAG WAS DEPLOYED. NO SKID MARKS ON ROADWAY. *TR

THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 89,000.
AT APPROX. 35,000 MILES, MY 2009 HONDA ACCORD COUPE WEAR INDICATOR FOR LEFT REAR DISC BRAKE IS RUBBING THE BRAKE DISC INDICATING THAT THE BRAKE PAD HAS REACH THE POINT WHERE THE PADS NEED TO BE REPLACE. THIS IS VERY PERPLEXING AS TO WHY THE REAR BRAKE NEED TO BE REPLACED BEFORE THE FRONT BRAKE PADS. SEEMS TO BE A COMMON COMPLAINT ON THE 2008-2009 HONDA ACCORDS AND 2009 ACURA TSX, AND A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT THAT HONDA HAS AGREED TO PAY OUT $150 TO OWNERS WHO HAVE HAD TO FIX THIS PREMATURE BRAKE WEAR ISSUE. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON DUE TO MISFIRING AND FOULED #3 SPARK PLUG. ALSO, BETWEEN MOTOR OIL CHANGES AT 35,761 MILES AND AT 43,140 MILES, APPROXIMATELY 2 QUARTS OF OIL WERE ADDED DUE TO EXCESSIVE MOTOR OIL CONSUMPTION.
WHILE DRIVING AND TURNING MY WHEEL I HEAR A LOUD CLICKING NOISE, TOOK IT TO HONDA AND THEY SAID THAT IT IS MY STEERING COLUMN. THEY REFUSED TO COVER UNDER WARRANTY. THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE STEERING TUBE BUT NO OTHER RECALLS. I HAVE HEARD SEVERAL OTHER COMPLAINTS ON OTHER WEBSITES WITH THIS SAME ISSUE. HONDA CLAIMS THEY HAVE RELIABLE VEHICLES. IF YOU MAKE THIS CLAIM MAYBE YOU SHOULD REPAIR A VEHICLE THAT HAS ONLY 40K MILES ON IT AND HAS BAD STEERING COLUMN. POOR COMPANY. THIS IS MY THIRD HONDA VEHICLE AND THE VERY LAST ONE THAT I WILL EVER BUY. *TR
