TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 HONDA ACCORD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR BRAKES FAILED TWICE IN LESS THAN ONE YEAR AND A HALF. THE REAR BRAKE PADS WERE ORIGINALLY REPLACED AT 11,000 MILES AND HAD TO BE REPLACED EVERY SIX MONTHS AFTERWARD. THE FRONT BRAKES HAD YET TO NEED REPLACING. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 11,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 21,000.
HAVING OWNED 6 HONDAS OVER SEVERAL YEARS. THIS IS THE MOST UNCOMFORTABLE CAR I HAVE EVER OWNED. I CAN ONLY DRIVE IT FOR SHORT DISTANCES OTHERWISE I GET BACKACHES AND ALSO BOTHERS MY HIP. *KB
WHILE DRIVING, THE CAR CHUGGED AND ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. ENGINE CUT OFF. HAD CAR TOWED TO HONDA DEALERSHIP . *JS
REAR WHEEL BEARING FAILURE AT FREEWAY SPEED (MANIFESTED BY GRINDING NOISE AND BURNT SMELL) AND PREMATURE AND UNEVEN WEAR ON REAR BRAKE PADS. (1) DEALER SERVICE AT PACIFIC HONDA IN SAN DIEGO CA MISDIAGNOSED THE FAILED BEARING AS THE "OFTEN" ENCOUNTERED BRAKE PADS "ISSUE" WITH "2010 HONDA ACCORDS". $220 BRAKE JOB LATER, GRINDING NOISE IS STILL PRESENT. SHAFT WAS DISCOLORED DUE TO HEAT BUT DEALER CLAIMS "IT'S OK". *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 HONDA ACCORD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DRIVER'S SEAT HAD BECOME DEFECTIVE AND HAD NO PADDING IN THE SEAT. THE CONTACT WAS IN CHRONIC PAIN DUE TO THE POSITION OF THE SEAT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO HAD TO ORDER A REPLACEMENT SEAT FOR THE VEHICLE. THE REPLACEMENT SEAT WAS INSTALLED BUT THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WERE NO CHANGES IN THE SEAT POSITION, AS THE PAIN CONTINUED ON HER RIGHT SIDE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE WHO OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 7,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 22,000.
I OWN A 2010 ACCORD WITH 11000 MILES ON IT, 9 MONTHS OLD. THE REAR BRAKE PADS ARE SUPPOSED TO BE WORN OUT AND THE DEALER WONT COVER IT UNDER WARRANTY. I WAS TOLD THAT IT WILL COST $199+TAX AND I HAD TO LEAVE THE VEHICLE WITH THE SERVICE STATION FOR 3 DAYS FOR THE PART TO BE STOCKED. *TR
THE DAYLIGHT RUNNING LIGHTS ON THE 2008-2010 HONDA ACCORD ARE VERY BRIGHT AND THE SIGNAL LIGHTS ARE RELATIVELY DIM AND DIRECTLY INBOARD OF THE RUNNING LIGHTS MAKING THE SIGNAL LIGHTS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO SEE. THE DAYLIGHT RUNNING LIGHTS MASK THE SIGNAL LIGHT. AS THE DAYLIGHT RUNNING LIGHTS ARE ALWAYS ON, THE DANGER IS ANY TIME DURING DAYLIGHT HOURS. NO FIX HAS BEEN OFFERED BY HONDA. PERMANENTLY DISABLING THE DAYLIGHT RUNNING LIGHTS ON THIS AUTOMOBILE IS THE ONLY SENSIBLE ANSWER TO THIS PROBLEM. *TR
2010 HONDA ACCORD. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO WHEEL VIBRATION ISSUES. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED HER HUSBAND NOTICED A STRONG WHEEL VIBRATION WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY. WHEN HER HUSBAND APPLIED THE BRAKE, THE VIBRATION COULD BE FELT. UPDATED 11/04/13
UNABLE TO GET THE LOCK MECHANISM TO ENGAGE TO START THE CAR. MY MOTHER HAS BEEN LEFT STRANDED FIVE TIMES DUE TO LOCK MECHANISM SEIZING AND HER BEING UNABLE TO START CAR. SHE HAS CALLED THE HONDA SERVICE DEPT. TWICE AND THEY RECOMMENDED PULLING HARD ON STEERING WHEEL (TOWARD CHEST OF DRIVER). THEY OBVIOUSLY KNEW TO RECOMMEND THIS REMEDY. BUT MY MOTHER IS 90 POUNDS AND FRAIL. IT TOOK STRONG MALES (STRANGERS IN A PARKING LOT,MOST RECENTLY WHILE IT WAS SNOWING) TO PULL THE STEERING WHEEL OUT TO AFFECT THE REMEDY SO THE CAR WOULD START. HONDA HAS NOT OFFERED TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM AND TRIES TO BLAME HER FOR "LEANING ON THE STEERING WHEEL" AS SHE EXITS THE VEHICLE. 90 POUNDS??? MY EXTENDED FAMILY HAS OWNED 20+ HONDA'S IN THE PAST - INCLUDING ME OWNING A 2009 EX-L. WE ARE ALL NOW DISAPPOINTED. NOT TO MENTION THAT MY MOTHER WAS MADE TO WAIT IN HONDA SERVICE FOR HER INITIAL 3000 MILE OIL CHANGE FOR 2 HOURS. THEY ALSO CHARGE HER FOR ROTATING THE TIRES AT 3000 MILES...TALKING ABOUT TAKING ADVANTAGE OF AN ELDERLY WIDOW..... SHE WENT LATER TO HAVE THE AIR CHECKED IN HER TIRES BECAUSE OF THE LOW PRESSURE WARNING (REMEMBER, SHE IS RECENTLY WIDOWED WITH NO KNOWLEDGE OF CARS AND HER CHILDREN ARE HOURS AWAY) AND THEY MAD HER WAIT 1 HOUR FOR THIS. SHAME ON HONDA. HER CAR IS UP FOR SALE AND SO IS MINE. THE EXTENDED FAMILY WILL NO LONGER BUY HONDA'S. HER LOCAL DEALER WHERE SHE BOUGHT THE CAR IS ASHEBORO HONDA, ASHEBORO, NORTH CAROLINA. THEY HAVE THUS FAR BEEN INDIFFERENT TO HER SITUATION. *TR
REAR BRAKES PREMATURELY WEARING OUT AFTER 18,000 MILES. *TR
STEERING WHEEL AND FRONT END SHAKES WHEN DRIVING OVER 60MPH. ISSUE STARTED WHEN CAR HAD A FEW HUNDRED MILES ON IT. DEALERSHIP REPLACED TIRES, BALANCED TIRES MANY TIMES, PERFORMED ALIGNMENT, REPLACED FRONT ROTORS. PROBLEM STILL EXISTS. SEEMS UNSAFE TO DRIVE AT TIMES. CAR NOW HAS 21000 MILES. *TR
MY 2010 HONDA ACCORD COUPE WAS MAKING A METALLIC "SQUEALING" SOUND WHEN I APPLIED THE BRAKES (AND, EVENTUALLY, AFTER APPLYING THE BRAKES). I TOOK MY CAR TO THE DEALER (UNION PARK HONDA IN WILMINGTON DE) TO HAVE THE BRAKES LOOKED AT AND WAS TOLD THAT THEY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED "WITH AN UPDATED FACTORY PART". AFTERWARD I SAW THE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ABOUT 2008-2009 HONDA ACCORD REAR BRAKE WEAR AFTER AS LITTLE AS 15,000 MILES. MY 2010 ACCORD (WHICH WAS NOT ONE OF THE 2010'S INCLUDED IN THE CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT) HAD ALMOST IDENTICAL ISSUES. ALSO OF NOTE IS THAT THE REAR BRAKES WERE AT 1MM OF MATERIAL LEFT (OUT OF 10MM), WHILE THE FRONT BRAKES WERE AT 7MM (OUT OF 10MM), SO THIS WOULD NOT INDICATE WEAR DUE TO DRIVING CONDITIONS. *TR
THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AND THE CAR MAKES NOISE AND DRIVING IS NOT SMOOTH. WHEN I CONTINUED TO DRIVE IT TO THE DEALER THE VSA, AND THE WRENCH CAME ON. THEY DID A DIAGNOSTIC AND SAID IT WAS A SPARK PLUG MISS FIRING. I DROVE MY CAR TO GEORGIA AND THE SAME THING HAPPENED WHILE I WAS ON THE ROAD AND HAD TO HAVE IT FIXED THERE. NOW IT IS DOING THE SAME THING ONE MONTH LATER. I WILL BE TAKING IT TO THE DEALER TO HAVE IT CHECKED. I FOUND ON THE INTERNET THAT THEIR IS A CLASS ACTION SUIT FOR THE SAME THING. IT IS RESOLVED WHEN THE PUT A NEW MOTOR IN THE CAR. MY CAR DOES NOT LEAK OIL BUT READS THAT THE OIL IS LOW. THE OIL LIGHT DOES NOT COME ON WHEN THIS HAPPENS. I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE THE CAR FIXED BUT NOT CONTINUALLY AT MY EXPENSE. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 HONDA ACCORD EXL(NA). WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, ANOTHER VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE HEAD-ON. NO AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. TWO PEOPLE WERE INJURED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS WITH THE INSURANCE COMPANY BEING INSPECTED. THE DEALER STATED THAT SOMETIMES THE AIR BAGS WOULD DEPLOY AND OTHER TIMES, THEY WOULD NOT. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER WHO OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 10,000.
THE HIGH BEAM DRLS ON THE HONDA ACCORD ARE MASKING THE INBOARD TURN SIGNALS. WHILE APPROACHING A LEFT TURN I WAS UNABLE TO DISCERN WHETHER AN ONCOMING ACCORD HAD ITS TURN SIGNALS ACTIVATED UNTIL VERY LATE IN MAKING MY MANEUVER. BECAUSE NHTSA HAS DETERMINED THAT DRLS ARE OF NO BENEFIT TO OVERALL SAFETY, IT SHOULD REQUIRE HONDA TO DEACTIVATE THE HIGH BEAM DRLS ON ALL ACCORD MODELS OF THE CURRENT GENERATION. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 HONDA ACCORD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE COULD HEAR A GRINDING NOISE COMING FROM THE REAR BRAKES WHEN BRAKING AT APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE REAR BRAKES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 11,000.
MULTIPLE TIMES I WILL PRESS ON MY BRAKES AND MY CAR WILL ATTEMPT TO ACCELERATE. I HAVE TO COMPLETELY PRESS MY BRAKES IN TO GET THE CAR TO DECREASE IN SPEED BUT IT WILL SOUND LIKE IT IS STALLING AND MAKE A RUMBLING SOUND. I HAD THE RECALL DONE. IT SEEMED TO WORK FOR A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME (3 MTHS) AND NOW IT'S BACK TO DOING THE SAME THING. I WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP TODAY TO ONLY FIND OUT NOW I NEED TO GET MY BRAKES REPLACED AT A LITTLE LESS THAN 35K ON MY CAR AND THE FRONT BRAKES HAVE NO WEAR. I ALSO WAS TOLD THAT THE RECALL WAS NOT FOR THAT. *TR
I LEASED A 2010 HONDA ACCORD. TWO DAYS LATER AS I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY, THE ENGINE SUDDENLY SHUT DOWN ALONG WITH ALL THE DASHBOARD INSTRUMENTS. EVERYTHING WENT BLACK INSIDE. A TRUCK TRAVELING BEHIND ME NEARLY MISSED HITTING ME AND I AVOIDED A VERY SERIOUS ACCIDENT. THE DEALERSHIP HAS HAD THE CAR FOR ONE WEEK AND IS SAYING THE COMPUTER THEY ARE HOOKING THE CAR UP TO IS NOT COMING UP WITH ANY PROBLEMS AND THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR. I AM BEING PUT IN A DANGEROUS SITUATION BY DRIVING A CAR THAT HAS NOT BEEN FIXED. THERE IS OBVIOUSLY SOMETHING VERY WRONG. *TR

WHEN THE GEAR WAS SHIFTED INTO PARK, THE VEHICLE WOULD AUTOMATICALLY SHIFT OUT OF PARK AND INTO REVERSE, CAUSING INJURY TO THE CONTACT. THE VEHICLE WAS NEITHER INSPECTED NOR REPAIRED FOR THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 25,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 HONDA ACCORD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR BRAKES WOULD SCREECH WHEN THE BRAKES WERE NOT ENGAGED. WHEN HE DID ENGAGE THE BRAKES, THERE WAS A DELAYED STOPPING RESPONSE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE BRAKE SYSTEM NEEDED TO BE REPLACED BECAUSE THE WRONG BRAKE SYSTEM WAS ORIGINALLY INSTALLED. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN NOTIFIED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 16,349. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 15,000.
2010 HONDA ACCORD LX, DRIVER SEAT IS DEFECTIVE. SEAT IS EXTREMELY UNCOMFORTABLE. LOWER LUMBER REGION OF SEAT HAS A HARD PIECE OF PLASTIC PROTRUDING INTO THE LOWER CUSHION OF THE SEATBACK. CAUSING LOWER BACK PAIN. *TR
THE FRONT SEATS ARE THE MOST UNCOMFORTABLE SEATS I'VE EVER EXPERIENCED. THE FRONT OF THE SEAT DOESN'T ADJUST DOWNWARD ENOUGH AND HITS THE WRONG PRESSURE POINTS UNDER THE THIGH, THUS CUTTING OFF CIRCULATION IN THE LEG. THE SEAT IS ALSO TOO LONG AND HITS AT THE BACK OF THE KNEE RIGHT WHERE YOUR LEG BENDS. THE SEAT BELT BUCKLE HITS AND PRESSES AGAINST THE LEG RIGHT WHERE THE LEG/HIP BENDS. THIS TOO CUTS OFF CIRCULATION TO THE LEG AND MAKES IT VERY DIFFICULT TO WALK WHEN YOU GET OUT OF THE CAR. I'VE BEEN EXPERIENCING BOTH LEG, HIP AND BACK PAIN SHORTLY AFTER GETTING MY NEW CAR. THIS IS A MAJOR PROBLEM SINCE I'M IN THE CAR FOR A VERY LONG TIME PERIOD ON A DAILY BASIS.
THE CAR IS BRAND NEW. I TEST DROVE THE VEHICLE BUT DIDN'T NOTICE HOW UNCOMFORTABLE THE SEAT WAS IN SUCH A SHORT DRIVE. NOW THAT I DRIVE THE CAR EVERYDAY TO WORK, ABOUT A 45 MINUTE COMMUTE EACH WAY, ITS OBVIOUS THERE MUST BE SOME KIND OF DESIGN FLAW. I'VE ADJUSTED THE SEAT EVERY WHICH WAY POSSIBLE WITH SAME RESULT, TOTAL DISCOMFORT. I HARDLY EVER HAVE BACK PROBLEMS, NOW MY BACK HURTS EVERYDAY. MY CLAIM WAS SUBSTANTIATED WHEN I DECIDED TO GOOGLE THE PROBLEM AND FOUND THE SAME COMPLAINT BY MANY OTHER HONDA OWNERS FROM 2008 THRU 2010. I JUST CANNOT BELIEVE THAT A COMPANY WITH SUCH A GREAT REPUTATION FOR SOLID CARS CAN LET THIS GO ON AND NOT ACKNOWLEDGE THERE'S A PROBLEM. *TR
2010 HONDA ACCORD. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO PROBLEMS WITH VEHICLE BRAKES *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED FIVE MONTHS AFTER PURCHASING THE VEHICLE, THE BRAKES FAILED. SHE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR AN INSPECTION, AND THE DEALER STATED BRAKES WERE CONSIDERED WEAR AND TEAR. IT WAS NEVER MENTIONED TO THE CONSUMER, THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE BRAKES. HONDA DENIED THE CONSUMER'S REQUEST FOR REIMBURSEMENT, DUE TO THE CLAIM WAS POSTMARKED AFTER THE CLAIM FILING DEADLINE OF EITHER NOVEMBER 29, 2010 OR 90 DAYS AFTER THE LISTED DATE OF THE REPAIR, WHICHEVER WAS LATER. THE CONSUMER STATED THE BRAKES HAVE BEEN REPLACED THREE TIMES. ALSO, THERE WAS A SHARP METAL OBJECT STICKING OUT FROM THE DRIVER'S SEAT. *JB
AFTER 9 YEARS OF PERFECT SATISFACTION WITH A 2001 HONDA ACCORD,I PURCHASED A NEW 2010 HONDA ACCORD ON 08/2010. LOUD WHINING NOISE STARTED AFTER APPROX. 1000 MILES OF DRIVING. HEARD WHINE, LOUD AND CONSISTENT ON STARTUP AND THE WHINE INTENSIFIES AS THE ENGINE WARMS WITH DRIVING. DEALER REPLACED POWER STEERING PUMP ON MY THIRD TRIP TO HONDA SERVICE.NOISE CONTINUES EVEN LOUDER WITH NEW PUMP. A RETURN TRIP TO HONDA DEALER I WAS TOLD IT IS A NOISE CHARACTERISTIC OF THIS MODEL. THE NERVE RACKING WHINE IS DEADENED ONLY WITH THE RADIO VOL. TURNED UP. TWO OTHER PROBLEMS CREATE VERY STRESSFUL DRIVING CONDITIONS. THE HEAD REST EXTEND TOO MUCH FORWARD CREATING SEVERE NECK STRAIN AND THE STIFF FEEL IN THE SEATS REQUIRE CONSTANT SHIFTING OF POSITION. I WILL NEVER PURCHASE NOR RECOMMEND A HONDA TO ANYONE. MY MAIN CONCERN NOW: IS THIS WHINE AN INDICATOR FOR AN UNSAFE SITUATION OR FOR A MORE SERIOUS MECHANICAL PROBLEM? *TR
HEADREST COMPLAINTS. TRYING TO BUY A NEW ACCORD 2010 OR 2011. HEADRESTS FORCE THE NECK INTO AN UNCOMFORTABLE FORWARD POSITION. 2005 ACCORD WAS PERFECTLY COMFORTABLE BUT HAS BEEN TOTALLED AND TRYING TO GET A NEWER CAR BUT IT SEEMS ALL THE HEADRESTS HAVE THAT FORWARD THRUST. *TR

THE EMERGENCY BRAKE WAS ENGAGED WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED. THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO TWO OTHER VEHICLES. A PASSENGER IN THE OTHER VEHICLE STATED THAT THEY SUFFERED A WHIP LASH INJURY. THE POLICE RESPONDED AND FILED A REPORT. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO HER RESIDENCE AND WAS CURRENTLY BEING REPAIRED BY A LOCAL MECHANIC. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 15,000. I PURCHASED A NEW 2010 HONDA ACCORD LX-P IN LATE NOVEMBER OF 2009. ON SEPTEMBER 10, 2010, I SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT TO BRING THE VEHICLE IN BECAUSE THERE WAS A SEVERE WHINING NOISE AT IDLE THAT WAS MOST PROMINENT UNDER SPEEDS OF 20 MPH. THE WHINING NOISE STARTED ABOUT FOUR WEEKS EARLIER AND SEEMED TO DISSIPATE ONCE THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTED INTO SECOND GEAR. THE NOISE SOUNDS EXACTLY LIKE A POWER STEERING PUMP LOW ON FLUID OR JUST BEFORE THE PUMP STARTS TO GO OUT. I TOOK THE VEHICLE DIRECTLY TO THE DEALERSHIP SINCE IT WAS UNDER WARRANTY AND LEFT IT THERE FOR SEVERAL HOURS. UPON RETURNING TO THE GARAGE, THE TECHNICIAN INFORMED ME THE NOISE IS A COMMON OCCURRENCE WITH ALL ACCORDS WITH THE 4-CYLINDER ENGINE AND AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. HE STATED HE EVEN REMOVED THE POWER STEERING BELT TO RULE-OUT THE POWER STEERING PUMP. I THEN ASKED HIM IF THIS WAS THE CASE, WHERE EXACTLY WAS THE WHINING COMING FROM? HE INFORMED ME THAT HE JUST DIDN'T KNOW. PLEASE HELP! TO OVERCOME THE SEVERE WHINING, I HAVE TO TURN THE RADIO UP OR TURN ON THE AC/HEATER FAN TO DROWN OUT THE NOISE.
I HAVE A 2010 HONDA ACCORD EXL. THE DRIVER SEAT IS VERY UNCOMFORTABLE AND COULD POSSIBLY CAUSE ACCIDENTS BY MAKING THE DRIVER SQUIRM AROUND IN THE SEAT ON LONG DRIVES. HONDA DOES NOT HAVE A INFLATABLE LUMBAR SUPPORT, BUT A CHEAP PIECE OF PLASTIC THAT DIGS INTO THE DRIVERS BACK. THIS CAUSES THE DRIVER TO HAVE TO CONSTANTLY SQUIRM AROUND ON LONG DRIVES TO TRY AND GET COMFORTABLE ENOUGH TO GET THERE. THE LUMBAR SUPPORT FEELS LIKE A BRICK IN THE DRIVERS BACK MAKING IT HARD TO FOCUS ON DRIVING. I'VE HEARD OF OWNERS REMOVING FROM THE DRIVER SEAT, THE BACK OF THE SEAT AND THEN REMOVING THE CHEAP PIECE OF LUMBAR SUPPORT PLASTIC TO GET THE BRICK FEELING OUT OF THERE BACK. I DO NOT SUGGEST THIS BUT WANT TO MAKE THE NHTSA AWARE THIS IS HAPPENING. BESIDE THE SEAT PROBLEM THE ACCORD IS A GOOD CAR, BUT I'D LIKE TO SEE A NHTSA INVESTIGATOR RENT A 2010 HONDA ACCORD EXL AND DRIVE IT FOR A FEW DAYS, THEN TAKE IT ON A LONG TRIP. PURCHASED A 2010 HONDA IN JANUARY 2010. WE EXPERIENCED EXCESSIVE OIL USAGE AND YELLOW WARNING LIGHT ON INTERMITTENTLY. WE REQUESTED AN OIL CHANGE AT 4,500 MILES AND WERE TOLD NOT TO CHANGE THE FIRST OIL UNTIL THE OIL LIFE SHOWED 15%. WHILE TRAVELING, AT APPROXIMATELY 7,500 MILES, THE VEHICLE OIL LIFE INDICATOR SHOWED ABOUT 40% USE ALTHOUGH THE VEHICLE HAD NO OIL SHOWING ON THE DIPSTICK. THE EXHAUST PIPES WERE BLACKENED. OIL WAS ADDED AND WE WERE TOLD THERE COULD BE ENGINE DAMAGE. WE RETURNED TO THE HONDA DEALER WHO WE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE FROM WHO ADVISED US IF THE OIL USAGE WAS LESS THAN A QUART EVERY 1,000 MILES OIL USE WAS NOT EXCESSIVE. WE WERE TOLD THE CAR WAS FINE AND THE TAIL PIPES WERE NOT A PROBLEM. WE CONTINUE TO HAVE TO ADD OIL BETWEEN OIL CHANGES. *TR
FRONT DRIVER AND PASSENGER SEATS ARE EXTREMELY HARD AND UNCOMFORTABLE. THERE'S A HARD PIECE OF PLASTIC THAT RUNS THE WIDTH OF THE SEAT THAT DIGS INTO THIGHS/BUTTOCKS AND CAUSES CHRONIC HIP/BACK PAIN AND SOMETIMES NUMBNESS. THE SEATS ARE ALSO TOO LONG WHICH CAUSES THE FRONT OF THE SEAT TO DIG INTO THE BACK OF KNEES. THE HEADREST PUSHES HEAD/NECK FORWARD IN AN AWKWARD POSITION WHICH ALSO CAUSES NECK AND SHOULDER PAIN. THERE ARE NO ADJUSTMENTS THAT CAN BE MADE TO REMEDY THESE PAINS AND DISCOMFORT. JUST DRIVING OR RIDING FOR SHORT DISTANCES CAUSE THIS DISCOMFORT/PAIN. NOW, AFTER 6 MONTHS OF DRIVING THE CAR, THE BACK/HIP PAIN FOR ME AND MY 16 YR OLD SON IS DEEMED CHRONIC AND THERE IS REALLY NO RELIEF OTHER THAN NOT DRIVE OR RIDE IN THE CAR AND WE DON'T HAVE ANOTHER CAR. HONDA SHOULD COME UP WITH A SOLUTION AND AT LEAST OFFER AN AFFORDABLE FIX. NUMBNESS AND PAIN OF THIS SORT FOR DRIVERS IS DANGEROUS.

I HAVE HAD A HARD TIME SEEING SOME OF THE NEWER MODEL CARS AT DUSK DAWN AND NIGHT. IT SEEMS THAT SOME OF THE NEWER MODELS HAVE DAYTIME RUNNING LAMPS THAT CONSIST ONLY OF HEAD LIGHTS WHICH THE DRIVERS MISTAKEN FOR HAVE ALL THEIR LIGHTS ON. SO A CAR MAY HAVE HEADLAMPS BUT NO TAIL LAMPS. I DO APPROVE OF DRL'S ( I TURN ON MY LIGHTS AT ALL TIMES) BUT THEY SHOULD INCLUDE TAIL LAMPS. I BELIEVE THIS NEW SETUP IS MORE DANGEROUS THAN HELPFUL. *TR

I HAD A 2010 ACCORD, AFTER 400-600 MILES I STARTED GETTING THE CLICKING SOUND WHEN TURNING LEFT EVERYTIME. I TOOK THE VEHICLE INTO THE DEALER THE FIRST TIME AND THEY DID NOT FIX THE ISSUE. THE SECOND TIME I TOOK IT IN AROUND 1200 MILES. THIS TIME THEY FOUND THE ISSUE TO BE THE REVERSE GEAR FORK. THERE WAS AN INTERNAL SPRING THAT HAD BROKE. THANKFULLY IT'S UNDER WARRANTY, THEY PUT A NEW REVERSE GEAR FORK IN AND NO PROBLEMS SINCE. NOISE HAS GONE. *TR

REAR BRAKE PADS WERE WORN UNEVENLY AT 8,000 MILES? INBOARD BRAKE PADS WORN DOWN TO < 1 MM WHERE THE INBOARD PADS WERE STILL AT 3.5 MM COSTING $ 220 BRAKE JOB. THIS WAS BROUGHT UP TO THE POWAY CALIFORNIAL HONDA SERVICE ADVISOR, SERVICE MANAGER AND SERVICE DIRECTOR WHO ALL STOOD BY THE INITIAL RESPONSE GIVEN "IT'S NORMAL". *TR

THE HEAD RESTRAINT PUSHED THE TOP OF HER HEAD THREE INCHES FROM THE UPRIGHT POSITION AND MADE IT DIFFICULT TO SEE THE ROADWAY WHEN DRIVING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHO INFORMED HER THAT WAS THE DESIGN AND THEY COULD NOT REPAIR IT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED; THE DEALER ONLY REPLACED THE HEAD RESTRAINT WITH ONE FROM ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND A COMPLAINT WAS FILED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 188.
