I TOOK MY CAR IN FOR SERVICE AND IT HAS ONLY 19000 MILES ON IT YET THEY TOLD ME MY REAR BRAKES WERE WORN AND NEED TO BE REPLACED. THERE IS A CLASS ACTION SETTLEMENT FOR THE SAME ISSUES BUT MY VIN IS NOT COVERED. I ONLY REPLACED BRAKES 3 TIMES OVER NEARLY 160,000 MILES ON THE PREVIOUS ACCORD THAT I OWNED. I BELIEVE THE BRAKES ARE DEFECTIVE. *TR
PURCHASE A 2010 HONDA ACCORD ON 5/24/10 - SINCE THE PURCHASE THE CAR HAS BEEN BACK TO THE DEALER 3 TIMES FOR "POPPING/KNOCKING" ON THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE. FIRST I WAS TOLD THERE WAS A LOOSE BOLT ON THE SUSPENSION, THE SECOND TIME I WAS TOLD IT WAS AGAIN LOOSE BOLTS ON THE SUSPENSION - CAR IS CURRENTLY AT THE DEALER FOR THIRD TIME AWAITING RESPONSE. THE NOISE IS EXTREMELY LOUD AND DISTRACTING - TERRIFIED THAT THE TIRES WILL FALL OFF WHEN DRIVING. DEALER DOES NOT SEEMED CONCERNED. *TR
BRAKES WEAR OUT AND DEVELOP HOT SPOTS. HAD TO REPLACE EITHER BRAKE PADS OR ROTORS OFTEN. HONDA DOESN'T ADMIT IT AS THEIR PROBLEM AND MAKING ME PAY FOR EACH OF THESE INCIDENTS COSTING ME A FORTUNE. UNFORTUNATELY, MY VIN IS NOT ON THE SETTLEMENT REACHED. EACH TIME I GO TO DEALER WITH BRAKE PROBLEMS, HE RE-SURFACES ROTORS CAUSING ADDITIONAL WEAR. *TR
KNOCKING NOISE AT LOW SPEED 5 TO 10 MPH. APPEARS TO BE IN STEERING RACK. THOUGHT PERHAPS BRAKES BUT WE HAVE ELIMINATED THOSE. POPPING NOISE CAN FELT WHEN MOVING STEERING WHEEL RIGHT TO LEFT AND IDLE WITH OR WITHOUT ENGINE RUNNING AND HOLDING HAND ON TIE ROD ENDS. DEALER SAYS THERE IS NO PROBLEM BUT STEERING IS NOT SAFE WITH THIS BEING FELT. CAR HAS 5000 MILES ON ODOMETER AND IS 4 MONTHS OLD. IT JUST STARTED 1 DAY AT ABOUT 4500 MILES.THE LONGER IT IS DRIVEN IN A DAY THE LOUDER THE NOISE BECOMES. *TR

NONE OF THE WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED AFTER THE FAILURE OCCURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE OR DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. SUDDEN ACCELERATION WHEN SLOWING DOWN TO STOP. ON 3 SEPARATE OCCASIONS WHEN COMING TO A STOP AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT THE CARS ENGINE ACCELERATED WHILE BRAKING. THE LAST TIME RESULTING IN A MINOR CRASH. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 HONDA ACCORD. WHILE DRIVING AT 60 MPH, THE VEHICLE ABNORMALLY ACCELERATED. THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO CONTINUOUSLY APPLY THE BRAKES FOR APPROXIMATELY FIFTEEN SECONDS BEFORE THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO DECREASE IN SPEED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE THEY WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 6,225.
THE CAR HAD ONLY 4100 MI. AND CONSUMED A COMPLETE FILL DRY. TOOK IT TO LOCAL DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THAT THIS IS NORMAL AT TIMES FOR THE CAR TO DO THIS ONE TIME. CAR WAS ALSO SHUTTING THE CYLINDERS DOWN AT APP.30 MPH NOT THE 55 MPH IT WAS DESIGNED TO DO TO SAVE MILEAGE. IT WAS RETURNED TO US AND 3 DAYS LATER STARTED DOING IT AGAIN. RETURNED TO DEALER AND WAS TOLD IT HAD THE WRONG PLUGS IN IT.CHANGED THE PLUGS AND RETURNED TO US. DROVE THE CAR APPP. 90 MI. AND STARTED IT AGAIN. THE SERVICE MGR. TOLD US THAT THIS WAS HAPPENING TO MORE THAN MY ACCORD. THIS TIME THEY CALLED AND TOLD ME THAT THE ROCKER ARM PIN IN CYL. NO.2 WAS UNDERSIZED AND WAS STICKING CLOSED,CAUSING A MISS. BUT NOT SURE IF THIS WOULD FIX THE PROBLEM OR NOT. ALL THE WHILE THEY WERE COMMUNICATING WITH ENGR. FROM HONDA. THEY HAVE MY CAR FOR A WEEK AND IT IS A LEASE.THEY ARE TALKING OF CHANGING A HEAD OR MAYBE EVEN THE BLOCK. PURCHASING A 30000.00 AUTO AND HAVING ONLY 4900 MI. IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. I WOULD LIKE ANOTHER HONDA IN IT'S PLACE AND I WOULD BE COMPLETELY SATISFIED. HAD THE ROCKER ARM STUCK OPEN THE PISTON WOULD HAVE EXPLODED AND COULD CAUSE GREAT BODILY HARM TO MYSELF AND ANYONE AROUND ME AT THE TIME. THIS IS A DANGEROUS SITUATION OCCURRING HERE AND COULD REALLY INVOLVE A LOT OF INNOCENT PEOPLE IF IT CONTINUES. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 HONDA ACCORD. WHILE DRIVING AT 50 MPH, THE SUNROOF SUDDENLY BROKE CAUSING GLASS TO FALL INSIDE THE VEHICLE AND CUT THE CONTACT ON THE SHOULDER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALERSHIP FOR GLASS REPLACEMENT AND THE DEALER STATED THAT THEY HAD NEVER SEEN SUCH A FAILURE BEFORE. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE APPROXIMATELY 400. HONDA ACCORD 2010 EX 4-CYL MANUAL TRANSMISSION - VEHICLE ID IS [XXX] I WENT TO PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL AS I APPROACHED A STOP LIGHT. IT HAD FELT 'ODD' LEAVING THE PREVIOUS LIGHT. THE CLUTCH PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR AND STAYED THERE. THE GEARBOX LOCKED UP SO I COULDN'T SHIFT INTO ANY GEAR. THE MOTOR WAS STILL RUNNING NORMALLY. A MOTORCYCLE COP CAME TO HELP ME - IT WAS IN HEAVY TRAFFIC - AND HE COULDN'T GET THE CLUTCH OR GEARS TO WORK. I TURNED IT OFF. AFTER ABOUT FIVE MINUTES, I LOOKED AT THE CLUTCH PEDAL. A GENTLE TUG AND IT CAME BACK UP. I RESTARTED THE CAR AND WAS ABLE TO DRIVE IT HOME, A COUPLE MORE MILES, WITHOUT FURTHER PROBLEMS. THE CAR HAD 900 MILES ON THE ODOMETER. I CONSULTED AN ONLINE HONDA TECHNICIAN AND RECEIVED THIS RESPONSE: "THE PROBLEM IS THE CLUTCH MASTER CYLINDER . THERE ARE ISSUES WITH THE RODS GETTING STUCK . THE DEALER WILL NEED TO REPLACE THE CLUTCH MASTER AND BLEED THE SYSTEM TO FIX THIS ISSUE. HAVE DONE A FEW SO FAR . NO BULLETIN OR RECALL YET." I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER (MOTORCARS HONDA CLEVELAND). THEY CONFIRMED THIS DIAGNOSIS AND REPLACED THE CLUTCH MASTER CYLINDER. THE SERVICE REP ALSO SAID THEIR CLEVELAND HEIGHTS SERVICE DEPARTMENT HAD ALSO SEEN THE SAME PROBLEM A NUMBER OF TIMES. PURCHASED 2010 HONDA ACCORD MARCH 29, 2010. WITHIN 2 WEEKS A KNOCKING OR POPPING NOISE STARTED FROM THE FRONT END. PROGRESSIVELY GOT WORSE. SO LOUD THAT I THOUGHT THE TIRES WERE ABOUT TO FALL OFF. AFTER 5 TRIPS TO THE DEALERSHIP I WAS FINALLY TOLD THAT IT WAS THE BALL JOINTS, BOTH LEFT AND RIGHT ON THE FRONT END. THREE OF THE 5 TRIPS WAS TOLD THAT THE NOISE COULD NOT BE RE-EMULATED, AND NOTHING WAS DONE. THE SECOND TRIP IN, THE NOISE WAS HEARD BY A TECHNICIAN AND WAS TOLD THAT "A FEW BOLTS WERE LOOSE ON THE SWAY BAR". THE NOISE CAME BACK WITHIN 2 DAYS. FINALLY CAME IN AND REQUESTED A MANAGER TO DRIVE THE CAR TO HEAR THE NOISE, THAT IS WHEN BALL JOINTS WERE ORDERED AND REPLACED THE FOLLOWING WEEK. THROUGH ALL OF THIS TIME I WAS TOLD THE VEHICLE WAS COMPLETELY SAFE AND NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH IT! *TR
THE SEATS ON THE 2010 HONDA ACCORD EX 4CYL WHICH I JUST PURCHASED NEW ARE SO CONSTRUCTED THAT AFTER DRIVING IT I HAVE HAD TO CONSULT MY DOCTOR AND RECEIVE EXTENSIVE TREATMENT FROM A PHYSICAL THERAPIST! I HAVE A 2001 HONDA AND JUST SOLD MY 1988 HONDA AND THEY DID NOT HAVE THIS SEAT DEFECT. THIS IS A SERIOUS MATTER: I CAN'T DRIVE OR RIDE IN THE CAR. 2010 HONDA ACCORD EX-L 6 CYL. - BRAKE SCREECH, BRAKE SMELL AND SLIDING TO STOP (LIKE BRAKES ARE LOCKED). HAS HAPPENED AT LEAST 8 TIMES - A DEFINITE LIFE-THREATENING SITUATION ON THIS VEHICLE. ALSO, AT 17,000 MILES REAR BRAKES AND ROTORS ARE COMPLETELY WORN. BRAKE NEAR-FAILURE AND SMELL OCCUR INTERMITTENTLY. 2 DEALERS "CANNOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM" AND HAVE DONE NOTHING. HONDA 2010 ACCORD EXL THIS VEHICLE HAS A PROBLEM WHEN COMING TO A STOP. THE ENGINE WILL NOT DISENGAGE AND BRING THE CAR TO A STOP. I HAD TO SHIFT INTO NEUTRAL WHILE HOLDING THE BRAKE SECURELY TO STOP IT FROM HITTING THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME.. THE MILEAGE IS UNDER 1,000 MILES. AT 20,000 MILES THE VEHICLE HAD A FAILED WHEEL BEARING (NOISE/VIBRATION), PASSENGER-SIDE FRONT. DRIVER-SIDE FRONT WHEEL BEARING FAILED AT 34,000 MILES. DEALER REPLACED THE HUB/BEARING ASSEMBLIES UNDER WARRANTY. THIS IS A DEFECT, AS THE BEARINGS SHOULD NOT FAIL AT SUCH A LOW MILEAGE. HOW LONG WILL THE REPLACEMENT BEARINGS LAST ? *TR
DRIVER SEATBACK: TOO MUCH OUTWARD ARCH RIGHT IN THE CENTER OF IT THAT DIGS INTO DRIVER'S BACK. SAFETY HAZARD DUE TO DISCOMFORT AND PHYSICAL PAIN DURING A MID TO LONG DRIVING RANGE AND THE DISTRACTIONS IT CREATES. *TR
2009 HONDA ACCORD WAS FOUND BY DEALER TO HAVE "NO REAR BRAKES" TODAY DURING A SERVICE VISIT. PER THE DEALER, HONDA CHANGED THE BRAKE PROPORTIONING FOR THESE VEHICLES SO THAT ON THE HIGHWAY, ALL OF THE BRAKING IS DONE BY THE REAR WHEELS. AS A RESULT, THE REAR PADS ARE WORN TO NOTHING PER THE DEALER WHILE THE FRONT PADS ARE HARDLY WORN AT ALL.
MY 2010 HONDA ACCORD REAR BRAKE PADS WERE WORN AT 24,300 MILES AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE DEALER REPLACED THEM FOR $300 AND TOLD ME THERE WAS A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT ON SOME 2010 ACCORDS BUT MY VIN # WAS NOT INCLUDED. I WAS NOT TOLD OF THIS PROBLEM WHEN I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IN 8/2010. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 HONDA ACCORD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALERSHIP WHERE THE FUEL PUMP WAS REPLACED. HOWEVER, WHEN THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO START THE VEHICLE, IT WOULD NOT RESPOND. SHE NOTICED FUEL LEAKING FROM THE VEHICLE AND A STRONG ODOR OF FUEL IN THE GARAGE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE THE FUEL PUMP CLIP WAS REPLACED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 1,100. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 1,800.
2010 HONDA ACCORD CROSSTOUR. CONSUMER STATES DESIGN DEFECT IMPEDES PROPER REAR VIEW VISION. *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED THE REAR WINDOW OF THE VEHICLE HAS A HEAVY BAR RUNNING HORIZONTALLY IN THE MIDDLE OF THE WINDOW. THE BAR MAY HAVE BEEN REQUIRED FOR THE STRUCTURE OF THE REAR DOOR, BUT IT SUBSTANTIALLY BLOCKED THE REAR VISION FOR THE DRIVER. *JB
IN RECENT, COMPANIES HAVE CHANGED HOW THEY MAKE THE INSULATION FOR CABLES ATTACHED TO A CAR'S ENGINE. THE SOY PRODUCTS NOW USED TO CREATE THE WIRE INSULATION CONCERNS ME A GREAT DEAL. THIS WEEKEND MY WIFE WAS DRIVING OUR CAR, A 2010 HONDA ACCORD, AND WHILE ON THE ROAD THE CAR STARTED TO SHAKE AND STUTTER VIOLENTLY, AND WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. THIS COULD HAVE ULTIMATELY CAUSED AN ACCIDENT AND HARMED HER AND OTHER PEOPLE. AFTER HAVING OUR CAR TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP, THERE WAS EVIDENCE THAT A RODENT OF SOME TYPE HAD CHEWED ON THE CABLES. NOT ONLY DID THIS MAKE THE CAR UNSTABLE TO DRIVE ON THE ROAD, BUT THERE WAS A THREAT OF ELECTRICAL FIRE BECAUSE THE WIRE'S INSULATION WAS CHEWED AWAY BY A SMALL ANIMAL THAT WAS ATTRACTED TO THE SOY-BASED FOOD SOURCE IN THE WIRES. ADDING THE SOY TO THE WIRES CAN CAUSE PROBLEMS INCLUDING UNRELIABILITY, FIRES, AND POSSIBLY EVEN DEATH. I DON'T TAKE THIS LIGHTLY. AUTOMOBILE MAKERS ARE USING THE SOY MATERIAL BECAUSE IT IS LESS EXPENSIVE FOR THEM. OVERALL, IT COSTS CONSUMERS/INSURANCE COMPANIES MUCH MORE WHEN REPAIRS ARE NEEDED BECAUSE OF THIS PROBLEM. NOT ONLY IS THIS DISHONEST OF AUTO MAKERS, BUT THESE TYPES OF SHORTCUTS ARE ILLEGAL AS WELL. PLEASE REQUIRE MANUFACTURERS TO MAKE WIRING INSULATION OUT OF NON-SOY-BASED PRODUCTS TO ENSURE THE SAFETY OF MY FAMILY ALONG WITH YOURS. THANKS. *TR
I BOUGHT A NEW 2010 HONDA ACCORD AT MARIN HONDA IN LARKSPUR, CALIFORNIA ON SUNDAY 1/31/2010. BUT I DID NOT PICK UP THE CAR UNTIL MONDAY 2/1/2010 BECAUSE THE CAR WAS "NOT PREPARED" ON SUNDAY EVENING. I DROVE THE CAR HOME FROM THE DEALER IN THE AFTERNOON ON 2/1/2010 AND I BEGAN TO NOTICE A RATTLING NOISE COMING FROM THE HOOD ON DRIVER SIDE. I BROUGHT THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALER ON TUESDAY MORNING WHERE A MECHANIC SUGGESTED THAT THE NOISE MAYBE COMING FROM THE DEFECTIVE HOUSING UNIT OF THE WINDSHIELD WIPER. THE MECHANIC ORDERED THE NEW PART BUT IT WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE UNTIL NEXT WEEK. THE NOISE HAS BEEN PERSISTENT AND GETTING STRONGER/LOUDER WHEN I APPLIED THE BRAKE AND WHEN THE CAR IS IDLING AT INTERSECTION. THE STEERING WHEEL ALSO APPEARED TO SHAKE WHENEVER THIS LOUD RATTLING NOISE CAME OUT. I AM AFRAID THAT THIS PROBLEM MAYBE MORE THAT JUST A DEFECTIVE HOUSING PART OF THE WINDSHIELD WIPER, HENCE I AM REPORTING THIS TO ASSURE THAT ELECTRICAL PROBLEM OR BRAKES PROBLEM ARE NOT THE ISSUE FOR HONDA (IN LIEU OF WHAT IS GOING ON WITH TOYOTA CARS AT THE PRESENT TIME). PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU HAD SIMILAR COMPLAINTS FOR THE NEW MODEL HONDA ACCORD. I HAD BEEN A LOYAL CUSTOMER OF HONDA BUT THIS INCIDENCE IS MAKING ME VERY CONCERNED ABOUT THEIR QUALITY ASSURANCE SERVICE BEFORE RELEASING NEW CARS INTO THE MARKET. MY FAMILY AND I WERE RIDING DOWN THE INTERSTATE IN OUR NEW HONDA 2010 ACCORD. MY 2 DAUGHTERS WERE LOOKING THOUGH THE MOONROOF AT THE PLANE FLYING ABOVE. ALL OF A SUDDEN, A HOLD BLEW OUT OF THE MOONROOF. THE GLASS BLEW OUT--NOT IN. NOTHING HIT THE GLASS. *TR
THE HEAD RESTRAINTS FOR THE FRONT SEATS HAD TO BE REMOVED AS THEY CAUSED BOTH THE DRIVER AND PASSENGERS SIGNIFICANT NECK PAIN. THEY FORCED OUR HEADS DOWN INTO OUR CHESTS. I CONTINUE TO LOOK FOR ALTERNATE/REPLACEMENT HEAD RESTRAINTS THAT ARE MORE UPRIGHT. *JS
TOLD BY DEALER THIS NOSE MASK AFTERMARKET RECALL DOES NOT EFFECT MY VEHICLE. YOU SAY IT DOES.
I LEASED A NEW 2010 ACCORD EX 4-CYL. ON THE DRIVE HOME FROM THE DEALER I NOTICED THE SEAT WAS NOT TO MY LIKING AND TRIED TO ADJUST IT TO NO AVAIL. THE DISCOMFORT CAUSED BY THE LUMBAR SUPPORT IN THE ACTIVE RESTRAINT SYSTEM IN THE FRONT DRIVER'S SEAT IS INTOLERABLE. AS OTHERS HAVE NOTED, IT IS VERY NOTICEABLE ON LONG DRIVES OVER AN HOUR AND MAY CAUSE A SAFETY ISSUE BY THE DISTRACTION IT CREATES DUE TO CONSTANTLY SHIFTING AROUND TRYING TO FIND A COMFORTABLE POSITION. I HAVE CONTACTED HONDA OF AMERICA AND HAVE GONE BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP SEVERAL TIMES WITH NO SOLUTION. I'M DISMAYED BY HONDA'S LACK OF RESPONSE TO THIS PROBLEM AND SPECIFICALLY TO MY COMPLAINT WITH A 'SORRY'. I BOUGHT THIS CAR NEW IN OCTOBER 2009. IT IS A 2010 MODEL. IT HAS BURNED OIL EXCESSIVELY SINCE THE VERY FIRST TIME I DROVE IT. IT HAS CONTINUED TO BURN OIL AND MISFIRE UNDER ACCELERATION. CURRENTLY IT BURNS ABOUT 3 QUARTS OF OIL EVERY 5000 MILES.
I DID NOT HAVE AN ACCIDENT BUT WHEN I WENT TO PURCHASE 4-CYLINDER 2010 HONDA ACCORD I NOTICE THAT STEERING SYSTEM WAS COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE AND UNSAFE. I USED TO BE A STEERING ENGINEER HENCE KNOW THE SYSTEM EXPECTATIONS. I DID NOT BUY THE VEHICLE. STEERING DOES NOT RETURN TO CENTER. I DROVE MY FRIENDS CAR AND IT HAS THE SAME ISSUE.
