On 6/6/22 the car had multiple Alarms came on the dashboard (break sys prob, emission prob, road dept mit, collision mit, break sys prot, aac sys prob, hill start asst prob, break performance prob). I called Honda Valley Stream informing them of the above. Got appt 6/8 I was told I would need to leave the car on 6/8 appt. On 6/8 approx 4pm rec a call from them to come get the car. Alarms only needed to be reset and rear camera recall was done. Next day all the alarms plus a few other returned. I went back and forth with Manger. I left the car Sat 6/11.Told it was injection fluid that's covered under warranty. Then later the manager called that it was CO2 built up and $413 to clean and take care of the problem. I paid for it and picked up the car. 6/15 during the day I noticed a problem with the steering and that car kept moving into the other lane , this got worst if I had to use the break. Later that night an alarm for Supplemental Restraint System. Ive notified Honda of Valley Stream of this new issue. Awaiting a resolution.
The A/C system in the car blows hot air and since I have purchased the car in 2018 I had to replace the condensor three times. When the A/C is not working the car get very hot in the auto cabin. The car is almost undrivable.
My car was purchased new in December 2018. It now has 119,231 miles on it. My problem is that my headlight warning lamps go on the minute I start my car, because moisture has somehow gotten into both headlight assemblies, which causes my headlights to stop working intermittently. I took my car to Keeler Honda in Latham New York to get it fixed, and they gave me a quote to replace two headlights in the amount of $3174.23. My car has never been hit nor has it ever been in an accident. And now I need to replace two headlights and I can’t believe how much money it’s going to cost me. I believe I have defective headlights, and although my car may be out of warranty, I think this is a design issue, and the cost to replace two headlights is unreasonable. I have attached pictures of the right and left front headlights, a picture of my dashboard warning light that comes on when I start my car, and a copy of the estimate I received from Keeler Honda in Latham New York for $3174.23. Just for the headlights alone, the cost is 2624.04. Who has that kind of money to replace 2 headlights? I wonder if I’m the only one with this issue. This is a serious SAFETY HAZARD when I’m on the road and my headlights turn off at night. What can I do? Thank you, Mark Febbie
Going about 10mph down a side street when emergency brake automatically caused my car to stop but nothing was in front of me. Car came to a complete abrupt stop which jolted me forward, but then resumed driving like normal. Yes available for inspection as it has not been taken in or inspected for this problem, it only happened once. No warning message prior. If this would have happened on a busy street, it could have easily caused an accident.
All warning lights of my Honda accord turned on/off 4 months ago. The dealership inspected my car and told me that problem is the fuel injectors and he cleaned them but they might need replacement if the problem comes back. After one day the engine light turned on and sometimes all the warning lights which caused disabling the ADAS function. I took my Honda to the dealer again and said the fuel injectors have a problem, they need replacement. The dealer stated that it is not covered by the powertrain warranty. He quoted me $1767.00 which I cannot afford, I did my search online there are many Honda accord 2018 that reported the same problem so I believe it is a defective part from the manufacture
Routine and ongoing false and nuisance braking warnings from collision mitigation system. Triggering of the warning is presumably a precursor to erroneous activation of automatic braking.
Backup camera quit working
While driving car cut off and smoke filled inside car. This could have caused a major accident and harm to myself and others. Had to have car towed to dealership for repair that should have not have happened for this age of car. I just had to pay out for a previous repair a few months before this.
Window cracked on lower left side. Car parked in garage. Came back from work to find 12 inch crack in windshield that did not exist when I parked the car. No signs of impact. Appears to be stress crack without any cause other than a design flaw with the car. Lots of other reports of similar incidents with this model online.
The contact's wife owns a 2018 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while his wife was driving at various speeds, several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The contact stated that the warning lights were illuminated constantly. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the fuel system was contaminated with water. The contact stated that the dealer replaced the spark plugs and flushed the fuel system; however, the failure recurred while driving. Additionally, the contact stated that the cruise control mode was no longer functional. The vehicle was taken back to the same dealer, where the contact was informed that further diagnostic testing was needed to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure, but the contact had not received a call back. The failure mileage was approximately 66,000.
2018 Honda Accord 1.5Turbo LX - Fuel Injector Failure at 58,600 - diagnosed at Honda Superstore of Lisle, IL. As a result car has low power, all safety features are deactivated, and emission system is malfunctioning. Submitting this issue as HONDA has had several other models with early fuel injector failure which it has recalled in the past. Please contact me if a fuel injector recall is issued for my car.
Periodically, at various speeds while driving, the “Brake” light will flash and sound on the dashboard, and there’s nothing in front of me. It causes the vehicle to brake and slow down drastically. It happens more often while driving at freeway speeds on the freeway. The vehicle will also light up with “Lane Departure” and will self correct when there is no need. I was informed by the dealer service department that “It probably was a glare from the sun or there was a reflection that caught the sensor to cause it to brake and do that.” It would happen at different times if the day.
MY CAR KEEPS SLOWING DOWN ON ME WHILE DRIVING AND THAS DANGEROUS I HAVE TWO KIDS!! MY CAR WILL NOT Accelerate ONCE IT SLOWS DOWN . MY CAR ENGINE LIGHTS KEEPS BLINKING. ALL MY LIGHTS BEEN ON MY CAR FOR A YEAR AND THIS NEEDS TO BE FIXED IT NEEDS TO B W RECALL OM THESE CARS BEFORE HONDA HAVE W LAWSUIT WITH THESE CARS TO MANY PEOPLE HAVING THESE PROBLEMS. I HAVE HAD MY CAR TWO YEARS NO WAY I SHOULD HAVE THESE PROBLEMS WITH THEY CARS
Ac stopped working/sometime it blows slightly cool air
I had taken my vehicle in to dealership on multiple occasions for the vehicle stating “road departure mitigation system problem” multiple times and every time I was told there wasn’t an issue. Eventually the system completely stopped working and the dealership wanted to charge me over $3,000 because I was about 5,000 miles over warranty. I never fixed it. 2 years it hasn’t worked until one day my car randomly braked on its own as the system just started working out of no where almost causing an accident. Thankfully no one hit me from behind. But then it yet again isn’t working. Seems a default that continues to happen. And I’m worried it will happen again with my child in the back and someone slamming into me due to a system issue on the vehicle. I also included other errors that have occurred with this same issue but it goes away and didn’t happen as often as the collision mitigation issue. I put 2 months ago because that’s when the car randomly braked on me while driving on a busy road and that system is suppose to be “out” not working at all. But this all happened over 2 years ago when it went out and dealer said I didn’t need it for my vehicle to work correctly. dealership has all paperwork for everytime I took in the vehicle to have it looked at for this
This is a complaint for a unique occurrence of this problem on this date. In some instances, it seems that the ventilation system is potentially pulling noxious fumes in from the engine bay and in others, there seems to be an issue with moisture retention when AC is run. The vehicle seems to force foul smelling air in to the cab. Honda has failed to properly troubleshoot the issue (i.e. retain the vehicle for more than a few hours and try to understand if there is an issue with the ventilation system or something else).
Collision Mitigation braking system has engaged several times while driving in the city and Highway when there are no obstructions. Speeds vary from 35mph to 60mph.
My Honda Accord Sport has only 47,500 miles and it needs a new Fuel Rail. Code P2187. I have had Hondas for over 20 years and this has never happened before. I read that some 2018 honda model had extended warranty for Fuel Injectors. The Honda Accord should fall under that extended warranty.
I was driving on interstate behind line of trucks in construction zone at 55mph. It was raining lightly. When zone ended, I pulled into left lane and accelerated to 70 mph. A semi truck in right lane pulled in front of me, I braked to avoid hitting it. I got within 1-2 car length of semi and suddenly car braked on its own. Brakes fully locked up. I tried to accelerate after car slowed a lot (down 15-20 mph) and considerable distance opened up between us. Car would not allow me to regain ability to accelerate. Car brakes remained locked up until car slid to complete stop in left lane. Car then allowed me to again accelerate. Unknown if braking indicator activated. No trouble lights were illuminated. Almost hit by vehicle behind that had to maneuver to avoid. Have noticed other issues where brakes briefly automatically apply when passing large vehicle in right lane. This seems to be happening more frequently in past year.
I had several incidents where Honda automatically brake without reason. I was driving 75mph and without reason it fully brake and bring my car to complete stop leaving cars to emergency brake. I recently had multiple occasions where it again brake automatically with nothing block in front of the car. The dashboard shows Lane Departure warning, but I am leaving my lane and it automatically brakes unexpectedly. This car must be recalled for safety of everyone on the road!!!
The air conditioning stopped blowing cool air. It will only blow warm/hot air despite being on the lowest setting.
AC not cooling brand new car
4 year old Accord, 28k miles, garaged, not driven much in the past 2 years. A/C has failed.
Driving no other car in front of me and my car brake and Pulled to the side. Very scary with my children in the car. My car has sounded as if there was going to brake before without anything if front of me but this time it jerked and pulled to the side. Now I’m going to have to disable this feature on my car as I do not want to be in a accident by because of my vehicle defect.
The contact owns a 2018 Honda Accord. The contact stated that the ABS and airbag warning lights and several other unknown warning lights were illuminated intermittently. The contact that the warning lights had since remained illuminated. Additionally, the contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle abruptly stopped without the driver’s input. The contact was able to continue driving immediately after each failure. The contact had taken the vehicle to the dealer who diagnosed that the fuel injectors and parking brake switch had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 80,690.
The contact owned a 2018 Honda Accord. The contact stated while driving with cruise control activated at 70 MPH, he released the cruise control and the vehicle crashed into a barrier on the freeway. There were no warning lights. The front and side air bags were deployed. The passenger had injured the right hip by the air bags. The highway patrol notified a tow truck to the scene. The vehicle was originally towed to a salvage lot, then to a collision center. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The vehicle was claimed as a total loss by the insurance company. The contact went to the police department and filed a report after the crash. There were no medical treatments for the contact or passenger. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 80,000.
The vehicle had a very violent shift (perhaps it was turbo lag related?) at low speed (under 20 miles per hour - typically, this happens in a parking lot or the like as you slowly drive away). This has been mentioned to the dealer, numerous times, who claims that the issue is not reproducible.

Certain roads on my commute have hills where automatic braking has engaged and almost caused accidents over past year. Also, vehicles crossing in front of me or changing lanes when I have full view, car has braked hard. These incidents have happened at least 8 times in past year. I shouldn't have to disengage safety in order to be safe.

My brakes and rotters had to be changed three times in one year. Honda serviced my vehicle and changed my brakes and rotters at 34000 miles. I had four new tires and a wheel alignment at 36000 miles. I took my car back to Honda for service at 37000 less than I year after Honda replaced the brakes and rotters. I explained that my steering wheel shakes when I hit the brakes. I was informed that I needed brakes and rotters again. Honda refused to replace the brakes and rotters because I was beyond the warranty. I explained that it was under a year since they did the work therefore it should be covered, they refused. I paid to have brakes and rotters replaced on my vehicle in December 2021. It’s now April 2022 and my steering wheel is shaking again and I was informed that I need new breaks and rotters weeks after getting new brakes and rotters for the third time. I am a Honda fan and have drove and rooted for Honda for over 30 years. This experience has changed my perception of the reliable sedan that I once knew. The biggest issue is that Honda could care less about good customer service.
The vehicle fell from jack during roadside tire change. Vehicle was lifted according to instructions in manual. Jacking equipment very lightweight. I was forced to obtain roadside assistance to compete tire change. Jacking equipment is too lightweight for the weight of the car.
The contact owns a 2018 Honda Accord. The contact stated while driving approximately 35 MPH, the vehicle began to brake independently. The contact stated that the hill start assist failure, traction control, ACC, brakes, stability control, Collision mitigation, and other unknown warning lights were illuminated. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the EZ Pass sensor, the battery, and e-brake switch needed to be replaced. The battery was replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that the failure recurred intermittently while driving at various speeds. The vehicle was taken to the dealer three times. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 29,000.
Engine suddenly started to have a rough idle. All warning lights turned on. Took car to dealer, left it for 2 days. They said that there was a misfire present on cylinder #3 & that after driving the car, the lights then did not appear. They could not reproduce the error. They recommended that I replace the spark plugs, ignition coils , & have a fuel injection clean done. A few days later, all warnings lights turn on after a rough idle and misfire occurred frequently. Took vehicle to a local shop, they also said there was a misfire present. Local shop also recommended that I replace the spark plugs, ignition coils, and have a fuel injection clean done. I replaced all items and conducted the fuel injection clean as suggested. Problem still exists and is not resolved. Dealer and local shop say that the injectors may need to be replaced as this is a constant issue with this engine. Vehicle has 95,000 miles. Fuel injectors seem to be the culprit. My vehicle is available for inspection. During the misfires, the car suddenly lost engine power and momentum. This was dangerous as this occurred several times on highway driving. The problem has caused a failed vehicle inspection report at a local shop even when warning lights disappeared. Vehicle has not been inspected by manufacture, insurance, police, or others. Warning lights and symptoms first appeared on March 31st.
I am getting warnings of brake system problems including electric parking brake problem says it’s not available, brake hold system problem, brake performance reduced. Adaptive cruise control system problem, collision mitigation problem, and road departure mitigation problem. The car has slowed down on me while on the highway and side streets even when I am trying to accelerate and if I push the pedal all the way down it feels like it is fighting to stop, I’m afraid I am going to get hit from behind due to this. I just brought the car into the dealer for the recalls and mentioned these issues I initially thought the errors codes were maybe due to how cold it’s been because the entire screen also shut off on me then restarted its self minutes later. This car only has 30,000 miles on it.
While driving my vehicle at approximately 25 miles per hour on a cloudy day with temperatures around 55 degrees, I heard a loud bang. Apparently my sunroof exploded without any debris around. As you can imagine, this shocked me and caused a brief panic as to what had just happened. I hope that this would be something that can be avoided in the future for all drivers of Honda so as to not cause a driver to swerve off of the road. Especially a Vet like me.

I was going down the highway and my vehicle came to an abrupt stop. It was in the middle of traffic. I was in NO danger prior to this happening. I almost got rear ended from the truck that was behind me as a result of this, as I had no control over this sudden braking. The truck behind me had to swerve over or it would have hit me. I’ve only had the car for 3 weeks so far. I hope this doesn’t happen again. I’ve disabled all safety features to hopefully prevent it from happening again. The dealer from which I bought my 2018 Accord is aware of the incident. I hope the issue gets resolved soon, for all of us.
Started car up on morning all lights on dash board came on, took it had it checked by three different car shops, they said the car was showing three misfire codes, had spark plugs put in the car, two weeks later started car let warm left home to go to drop kids off to school and go to work, car started stalling in the middle of traffic I made it to the side of the road my husband who is also a mechanic told me to cut it of for 5 mins, I did so and the car ran find for the rest of the day, next morning same thing happen again me and my husband took it to the Honda dealership, we were told that a recall was in affect for the car by one lady, then another lady said it wasn't on my car it was Accords with 2.0 engine, my husband then started calling around pricing fuel pumps $1300 for a new pump and then come to find out that the 1.5 and the 2.0 engine use the exact same pump, if the pump was recalled for the 2.0 why not the 1.5 that has the same exact pump, the dealership did the recall service that was on my car some kind of software update, next day tried to start my car it did nothing but turn over and would not start after second try it started and all the lights were on in my dash board again, my husband started a google search on my car and found that their are a lot of complaints on this mode all on the same problems I'm having with mind, and a lot of complaints about the transmission in these cars as well, me and my kids could have been hit from the back by another car when the car stalled out, and when all my lights come on in the dash the cars anti crash system along with a lot of other things do work as they should.
Tire Pressure Monitoring System repeatedly indicates low tire pressure. Issue has existed since automobile purchase. Dealer has repeatedly reset the system only to have the TPMS system repeat the warning (four days after most recent reset). Dealer has been unable to resolve the repeated warnings. I feel this system is not measuring the intended tire pressure values properly as the tires have not been underinflated when the warnings activate. The safety system is not operating properly.
Ghost braking for no reason I could be going 70 mph and it'll slam on the breaks with nobody in front of me or anything
I purchased this vehicle zero miles from Brickell Honda back in 2018. A couple of years ago, with only (Miles: 51070), I started to notice that the vehicle's velocity started to decrease all of the sudden when driving it on the roadways and highways. To me, it was extremely dangerous, specially driving the vehicle on the highways because one time another vehicle almost hit me from behind. One of the details about this issue, was the fact that all the lights on the dashboard were turned on, and I was unable to turn them off. On [XXX], I took the vehicle to Brickell Honda and service advisor named Miguel Diaz told me that the vehicle needed to be repaired (Fuel system cleaning), but was was unable to explain me the cause of the problem. On [XXX], I went back to Brickell Honda and paid ($1,798.00) to get my vehicle fixed. However, on 2023 I started to have the same symptoms with the vehicle as before but this time I took the vehicle to Hendrick Honda in South Carolina to be evaluated. I explained to Honda Advisor named Jeremy Mann that I got my vehicle repaired in Miami back in [XXX] and now it was having the same symptoms as before. Jeremy told me that I needed to pay ($3,503.70) to replace the cylinder head gasket. I explained to Jeremy that the symptoms were all the same as before, and he ignored it. I ended up paying Hendrick Honda ($3,142.44 ) to get it fix. On December 2023 I saw an article online about a recall, so I contacted American Honda Motors. I opened a case with them (Case # [XXX]) and explained to them my situation and how much I have spent to get my vehicle fixed. On [XXX], I received an email from American Honda Motors stating that the case was being closed and stating (No Campaigns are available under customer's VIN related to either repair). The symptoms that my vehicle was having were the same as it is mentioned in the 2023 fuel pump recall and American Honda didn't do anything to address the issue. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
In the past 2 weeks, my Honda Accord has suddenly started braking without reason. Once this was on the interstate, the other time it was on an exit ramp from a state highway. I did notice that on the exit ramp, the front of the vehicle was looking into the sun. I have no idea if that can help pinpoint this issue, but I wonder if the cameras/sensors on the front of the vehicle got 'confused' by the high amount of light. This did not cause an accident, but it did cause me great anxiety.
1. Airbag light on the dash always stays on when the car is turned on. My mechanic checked and said the passenger weight sensor needs to be replaced. 2. Sometimes on cold start all kinds of warning light comes on. See picture for example
Defrost on the 2018 Honda Accord seems to have an intentionally compromised design whereby the vent underneath the windshield was made too small and does not deliver sufficient airflow in order to maintain sufficient visibility in colder/wetter conditions. This, in turn, compromises the safety as the visibility is severely compromised.
Braking system- phantom braking happens with no vehicle or obstacles in front of my vehicle. Possible rear end collision. No warning lamps before braking occurs.
I own a 2018 honda accord sport on 7 different time's in the last four years my car has made sudden stop all by itself i have talk to the dealer about it but when they check it out they say everthing is fine and they don't know why it did it. It's happened 3 time on the freeway and the other four times in arround town driving. speed ranged from 15 miles an hour up to 70.
While driving the car infotainment system blacks out and reboots. Causing a lost of direction and confusion while driving. Will be contacting the dealership for an inspection.
Door lock actuator. When I push my remote to lock the door it continues to run and grind for a bit. Taking to dealership for diagnosis. I read this is an ongoing issue with Honda vehicles.
On four different occasions vehicle applied the brakes on it’s own while changing lanes. as if there was a hazard in front, however there were no vehicles in front of my vehicle.
