DEALERSHIP 2019 STATED FUEL INJECTOR PROBLEMS ALL OF THE SENSOR LIGHTING SYSTEMS ARE STILL LIT UP. HAD TO REPLACE TRANSMISSION 12/2019. SINCE THEN CAN NOT UTILIZE THE CRUISE. NOW STATING ITS A TURBO WASTEGATE ISSUE.
VEHICLE WAS UNLOCKED WHEN ALL KEYS WERE IN HOME. THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES AT HOME AND WHILE TRAVELING .CAR WAS STATIONARY. NAVIGATION SYSTEM DIRECTIONS WERE GARBLED AND WAS NOT ABLE TO COMPREHEND WHAT WAS SAID. CAR WAS IN MOTION. THIS HAS HAPPENED BEFORE.
COLLISION MITIGATION SYSTEM FAILED, BRAKE LIGHT IS ON, ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM WARNING IS ON
THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH THE STEERING OF THE CAR WHICH SO FAR HAS ONLY PRESENTED ITSELF IN WINTER WHEN THE TEMPERATURES ARE LOWER. IT WAS FIRST NOTICED IN NOVEMBER OF 2019 WHEN THE CAR HAD ROUGHLY 18,000 MILES. THE VEHICLE WAS LEASED TO ME AS A NEW VEHICLE, AND I AM THE ONLY PERSON WHO HAS SPENT APPRECIABLE TIME DRIVING THIS VEHICLE. WHEN DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS OF 55+ MPH IN COLD WEATHER, IT REQUIRES HIGHER THAN NORMAL EFFORT TO MOVE THE STEERING WHEEL FROM ITS ON-CENTER POSITION (SUCH AS TO MAKE MINOR CORRECTIONS TO MAINTAIN LANE POSITION). IF ENOUGH EFFORT IS EXERTED, THE STEERING WHEEL BREAKS FREE AND THEN ALLOWS THE CAR TO BE STEERED WITH NORMAL EFFORT UNTIL THE WHEEL AGAIN REMAINS ON-CENTER FOR A FEW SECONDS, AT WHICH POINT IT BECOMES "STICKY" AGAIN, REQUIRING HIGH EFFORT TO MOVE. AT THIS POINT IT ONLY OCCURS AT THE CONDITIONS DESCRIBED ABOVE, BUT MY CONCERN IS THIS COULD BE A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY ISSUE SHOULD THE EFFORT BECOME ANY HIGHER, REQUIRING SUCH FORCE TO MOVE THE WHEEL THAT THE RESULT WILL BE TO SWERVE OUT OF ONE'S LANE WHEN IT BREAKS FREE, OR EVEN LOCKING ON CENTER ALTOGETHER, MAKING THE CAR UNCONTROLLABLE BY THE DRIVER. IT SHOULD BE NOTED THAT I DO NOT BELIEVE THIS IS A PURELY MECHANICAL ISSUE (E.G. AN ISSUE WITH THE STEERING RACK) BECAUSE TURNING THE IGNITION OFF RETURNS THE STEERING TO NORMAL EFFORT AND THE "STICKING" IS RESOLVED. IT SHOULD ALSO BE NOTED THAT THERE ARE SEVERAL NHTSA COMPLAINTS I HAVE FOUND IN INTERNET SEARCHES THAT DESCRIBE PRECISELY THE SAME ISSUE. I HAVE REPORTED IT TODAY, 7/23/2020, TO THE DEALER FROM WHICH I PURCHASED THE CAR - TOM KADLEC HONDA IN ROCHESTER, MN - AS I WOULD LIKE TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE BEFORE COLD TEMPERATURES RETURN.
MY 2018 HONDA IS NOT DRIVEN OFTEN. IT SITS IN MY YARD MOST OF THE TIME. I HAD IT DETAILED A WEEK AGO ONLY TO FIND THE PAINT WAS PEELING ON TRUNK, HOOD AND ROOF. HORRIFIED AT THIS NEWS I WENT TO SOCIAL MEDIA TO SEE IF THIS HAD BEEN A PROBLEM WITH OTHER HONDA OWNERS. ON GOOGLE I FOUND AN ARTICLE THAT EXPLAINED THAT THE PAINT INDEED WAS PEELING. I FOLLOWED THE STEPS IN THE ARTICLE. TOOK IT TO THE HONDA DEALERSHIP WHERE IT WAS PURCHASED. THEY OF COURSE EXCEPT NO RESPONSIBILITY NOR WOULD THEY READ THE ARTICLE. MADE THEM GIVE ME WRITTEN DOCUMENTATION THAT THEY WERE EXCEPTING NO RESPONSIBILITY. TRIED FOR DAYS TO CONTACT AMERICAN HONDA WITH ABSOLUTELY NO SUCCESS. NOW CONTACTING YOU.
I was driving slow to a 4 way st and slowly had a car pass across me so far away and it passed and all of a sudden emergency break and slam on break by itself causing the passenger in my car to hurt them self ... I was unable to control this accident so bad!!!!
THE DOOR WEATHERSTRIPS WERE ALL COMING OFF AND HAVE BEEN REPLACED.. DROVER DOOR HAS BEEN REPLYTWICE AND IS STILL COMING OFF DEALER IS NOT TAKING RESPONSIBILITY AND IS SAYING ITS MY FAULT
REAR BRAKE PADS ARE WEARING QUICKER THAN THE FRONT, I BARLEY HAVE ANY LIFE IN THE REAR PADS. (WEARING OUT TWICE AS FAST AS THEY NORMALLY SHOULD) JUST LIKE WHAT HAPPENED TO THE 2008-2010 ACCORDS. HONDA LOOKED AT THE ISSUE AND COMPLETELY IGNORED IT, THEY TOLD ME ITS DANGEROUS IF I DONT CHANGE THEM AND THEY DIDNT SAY ANYTHING ABOUT THEM WEARING OUT QUICK.
WHILE DRIVING ON I-95S PASSING THROUGH GEORGIA STATE AND IN SPORT MODE VEHICLE LOST SPEED UNEXPECTEDLY ENGINE LIGHT APPEARED HAVING TO STOP QUICKLY TO THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY. WHEN TRIED TO REINTEGRATE TO HIGHWAY, VEHICLE SPEED REACHED TO NO MORE THAN 40 MILES. VEHICLE ENDED IT UP BEING TOWED TO JACKSONVILLE FL.
THE BRAKE SYSTEM ALERT IS FLASHING ON THE DASHBOARD WHILE VEHICLE IN MOTION AND THERE IS NO BREAK ISSUE. IT APPEARS TO BE A FLAWED COLLISION MITIGATION BRAKE SYSTEM SENSOR AS THIS KEEPS FLASHING ACROSS THE DASH IN BIG BOLD LETTERS AND WONT GO OFF. I JUST BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE BRAND NEW 5 MONTHS AGO. WHEN TURNING CAR OFF AND BACK ON THE MESSAGE IS STILL THERE AND WONT GO AWAY.
THE PROBLEM WE HAD WITH THIS 2018 HONDA ACCORD, WAS IT WOULDN'T START. WITHOUT WARNING OF LOW BATTERY OR FAULTY CHARGING OR ANY OTHER INDICATION DISPLAYED IN THE WARNING OR ADVISORY SYSTEMS OF THE CAR PREVIOUSLY - IT JUST WOULDN'T START. FIRST ATTEMPT TO START THE VEHICLE DISPLAYED THESE SYSTEM FAILURES ON THE DRIVER INFORMATION INTERFACE : VEHICLE STABILITY SYS. PROB., BRAKE SYS. PROB., ANTI- LOCK BRAKE PROB., BRAKE HOLD SYS. PROB. IN ADDITION, THE PARKING LIGHTS CAME ON AUTOMATICALLY AND COULD NOT BE SELECTED "OFF" . BEING A SUNDAY MORNING , WE WAITED UNTIL MONDAY MORNING TO CALL THE TOWING SERVICE TO BRING CAR TO NEAREST DEALER. TOW DRIVER CONNECTED A PORTABLE CHARGER TO THE BATTERY- AND WAS ABLE TO START THE CAR, BUT AFTER DISCONNECTING THE CHARGER, THE CAR AGAIN WOULD NOT START. THE DEALERS REPORT TO US, WAS THAT OPERATION OF THE VEHICLE RADIO WITHOUT THE ENGINE RUNNING IS THE CAUSE AND EFFECT OF THE DEAD BATTERY- SO, OPERATOR/OWNER ERROR. (( IT'S OUR FAULT THE ,... ( THAT THE BATTERY IS WEAK, LOW BUDGET AND SAVES THE COMPANY ( HONDA MOTORS) MONEY BY USING CHEAPER PRODUCTS.)). NOW, IF THIS WERE YOU, OR YOUR WIFE, OR YOUR DAUGHTER, OR GRAND MOTHER; OR ALL OF THEM IN THE CAR TOGETHER GOING TO AN EVENT LIKE A WEDDING - AND THEY WERE SUDDENLY AND UNEXPECTEDLY, WITHOUT WARNING .... Car accident head on emergency break didn’t work bad injuries.
COLLISION MITIGATION BRAKING SYSTEM PLEASE SEE DEALER . THAT'S THE MESSAGE THE VEHICLE DISPLAYS ON THE DASHBOARD . HAS APPEARED 3 TIMES IN 7 MONTHS . APPEARS WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY. *TR
MY CAR (3 TIMES NOW) WHILE DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY WILL SUDDENLY BRAKE HARD WITH NO CARS IN FRONT OF IT ALMOST CAUSING A REAR END COLLISION WITH MY CAR. AN ORANGE LIGHT COMES ON THE DASHBOARD SAYING (BRAKE) IN LARGE LETTERS. I AM GETTING SCARED TO DRIVE THE CAR NOW.
WHILE PARKED SAFELY IN MY GARAGE MY WINDSHIELD SUFFERED A STRESS FRACTURE. IT STARTS AT THE PASSENGER SIDE FRAME AND STRETCHES 13 INCHES OUT ACROSS THE WINDSHIELD. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER WHO INFORMED ME THAT THE CAR WOULD BE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY WHEN I CALLED. I LATER FOUND OUT AFTER WAITING TWO HOURS THERE THAT IT WOULD NOT BE COVERED. THIS IS AN ON GOING ISSUE WITH ACCORD WINDSHIELDS AND SHOULD BE RECALLED. THERE ARE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS HERE AND ON OTHER SITES OF STRESS FRACTURES WITHOUT ANY KIND OF ROCK DAMAGE TO THE WINDSHIELD. THIS NEEDS TO BE REVIEWED AND COVERED.
AFTER BEING PARKED IN A FRIENDS DRIVEWAY FOR SEVERAL HOURS I PROCEEDED TO OPEN MY CAR AND DRIVE HOME. FIRST REMOTE CONTROL WOULD NOT OPEN DOORS, AFTER SEVERAL TRIES IT OPEN THE DRIVER DOOR ONLY, UPON TURNING IGNITION ON A SERIES OF WARNING INDICATING THE ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM AUTOMATICALLY DISABLES ITSELF, ALL COLLISION MITIGATION FUNCTIONS STOP WORKING, SERIES OF WARNING SEE PICS APPEAR ON DISPLAY TO SEE DEALER, ALL WINDOWS AND TRUCK WILL NOT FUNCTION, TURN SIGNALS AND BRAKE LIGHTS, REAR VIEW CAMERA DO NOT FUNCTION, BRAKE SYSTEM MSG APPEARS ON DISPLAY. TURNED OFF AND ON CAR WITH NO SUCCESS IN RESTORING ALL FUNCTIONS AS ON TWO PREVIOUS OCCASIONS. DROVE CAR FOR 4 MILES IN THIS STATE FELT IT WAS DANGEROUS FOR US AND OTHER DRIVERS. THIS MORNING ALL HAS RESTORED TO NORMAL. CALLED HONDA DEALER IN EL MONTE CA. WAS TOLD THEY DID NOT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THIS TYPE OF PROBLEM, WAS NOT ABLE TO BOOK SERVICE CALL UNTIL MIDDLE OF NEXT WEEK IN RESEARCHING ONLINE FOUND HONDA SERVICE BULLETIN 19-051 DESCRIBING A SOFTWARE UPDATE TO CAR MODULES TO FIX THIS PROBLEM. I BELIEVE THAT IS REALLY SHOULD MERIT A RECALL AS IT INTERFERES WITH THE SAFE DRIVING OF THE VEHICLE. A RECALL WILL FORCE HONDA TO INFORM ITS SERVICE DEALERS AND INSTRUCT THEM ON A PROMPT SCHEDULING OF REQUIRED SOFTWARE UPGRADE TO RESOLVE THIS SOFTWARE DEFECT AFFECTING DRIVABILITY OF THEIR FLAGSHIP CAR.
WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY AT 65 MPH WITH CRUISE CONTROL ON BRAKES SUDDENLY APPLIED THEMSELF NEARLY CAUSING A VEHICLE TO STRIKE ME IN THE REAR .SEVERAL ALARMS WERE DISPLAYED ON DASH FIRST WAS ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL SECOND COLLISION MITIGATION BRAKING SYSTEM THIRD DEPARTURE MITIGATION SYSTEM PROBLEM ALL ALARMS SAID TO SEE YOUR DEALER . I TOOK PICTURES WITH MY CELL PHONE OF ALL ALARMS DISPLAYED BUT I'M HAVING DIFFICULTY UPLOADING TO REPORT . I CAN SEND A ATTACHMENT SPECIFIC TO THE CLAIM IF NEEDED OR IF A EMAIL COULD BE GIVEN I WOULD FORWARD SUCH.
WHEN TRAVELING AT HIGH SPEEDS THE BRAKES KEEP SETTING THEMSELVES. WE WERE ALMOST REAR ENDED DURING ONE INSTANCE. THE HONDA DEALER HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO FIX THIS VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.
VEHICLE HAD ISSUES CRANKING AND THE DISPLAY HAD EVERY ERROR CODE FLASHING ONE AFTER THE OTHER. AFTER GOING TO THE DEALERSHIP WE WERE TOLD THAT IT WAS THE FUEL PUMP. IT WAS REPLACED IN JULY. THE EXACT SAME ISSUE HAS HAPPENED AGAIN IN OCTOBER IF THE SAME YEAR AND WE ARE BEING TOLD THAT IT IS THE FUEL PUMP AGAIN.
The CMBS will slam on the brakes in wide open road condition. It happened at least 5 times. I have since made a habit to turn off the CMBS before I drive (going on 2 years turning it off). Almost caused an accident twice.
I WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR AND OIL CHANGE AT 20,000 MILES AND WAS TOLD THAT MY REAR PADS WERE WORN AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE FRONT PADS ARE FINE. THIS ISSUE WAS RECALLED IN 2010 AND NEEDS TO BE RECALLED AGAIN.
AS I AM DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY, THE CENTER SCREEN WILL TURN OFF AND RESET ITSELF. THIS CAUSES MY HANDS-FREE TO STOP WORKING IF I AM ON THE PHONE. ADDITIONALLY, I AM FORCED TO TOUCH THE SCREEN WHILE I AM DRIVING IN ORDER TO CONNECT CAR PLAY/ BLUETOOTH WHICH IS HAZARDOUS. THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME ON MORE THAN 10 OCCASIONS.
COLLISION MITIGATION BRAKING SYSTEM WARNING INDICATOR IS VISIBLE ON THE DASH AFTER VEHICLE SHUDDERS AND JERKS, AND ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL BECOMES DISABLED UNTIL THE CAR RESTARTS. THIS HAPPENS WHILE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, ABOVE 50MPH.
BRAKE PULSATES ARE WHEN APPLYING BRAKES AT SPEED 40 MOH OR HIGHER. SINCE I NOTICED AND TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AFTER 12.5K MILES THEY WILL NOT COVER THE REPAIR. ACCORDING TO THE ASSOCIATE THIS WILL CONTINUE TO HAPPEN EVERY 12K MILES.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 HONDA ACCORD. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED, SEVERAL WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED, INCLUDING A WARNING INDICATOR WHO SUGGESTED THAT THE VEHICLE BE TAKEN IMMEDIATELY TO THE NEAREST DEALER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE HEADLAMPS AND TURN SIGNALS WERE INOPERABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SANFORD HONDA (3130 S. HORNER BOULEVARD, SANFORD, NC 27332) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BATTERY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE BATTERY WAS REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 14,400.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 HONDA ACCORD. WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE CONTACT HEARD THREE BEEPING NOISES AND THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO DECELERATE ON ITS OWN. WHILE DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE IMMEDIATELY. AFTER A FEW SECONDS, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED NORMALLY. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO DRIVE TO HER DESTINATION SAFELY. ON SEPTEMBER 26, 2019, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO WITTMEIER HONDA (LOCATED AT 2288 FOREST AVE, CHICO, CA 95928, (530) 895-8181), BUT THEY WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 12,163.
THE PAINT ROOF MY2018 ACCORD SPORT IS PEELING OFF
THE VEHICLE'S SAFETY SYSTEM (NOT SURE IF IT'S THE CAMERA MOUNTED BEHIND THE WINDSHIELD OR SOMETHING ELSE) WILL PERIODICALLY INTERPRET A ROAD SPEED SIGN AS SHOWING 100MPH SPEED LIMIT. THIS HAS HAPPENED BEFORE AND WILL HAVE HAPPENED AGAIN (I AM FILING THIS COMPLAINT AFTER SOME TIME HAS PASSED). AS WITH A NUMBER OF OTHER ISSUE WITH THE 2018+ HONDA MODELS, HONDA'S RESPONSE HAS BEEN "TAKE IT TO THE DEALER" WHILE THE DEALER'S MECHANIC DRIVES THE CAR FOR AN HOUR, DOES NOT SEE THE ISSUE AND THEN CLAIMS THAT NOTHING IS WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. A PICTURE IS ATTACHED.
UNDER CERTAIN DRIVING CONDITIONS WHEN THE CAR IS SLOWING DOWN WHILE USING ACC (CRUISE CONTROL) THE SYSTEM WILL FAIL CAUSING THE BRAKES TO DISENGAGE.EVER TIME THIS HAPPENS 3 TIMES SO FAR I WAS DRIVING AT THE POSTED SPEED LIMIT. MOST TIME THE SPEED LIMIT WAS 55 MPH. TRAFFIC WENT FROM POSTED LIMIT TO AN ALMOST COMPLETE STOP.THE CAR WOULD START TO SLOW DOWN THEN THE SYSTEM WOULD FAIL, ALLOWING THE CAR TO CONTINUE FORWARD ALMOST CAUSING A COLLISION. THE MESSAGE "COLLISION MITIGATION BRAKING SYSTEM PROBLEM SEE YOUR DEALER" IS DISPLAYED. HONDA HAS A TSB 19-051 THAT TALKS ABOUT THE ISSUE. WHEN I TOOK THE CAR TO DEALERSHIP ABOUT ISSUE THEY REFUSED TO DO THE TSB.
COLLISION MITIGATION SYSTEM DOES NOT WORK; INITIAL ISSUE WAS WARNING SYSTEMS WENT ON WITH NO ONE IN FRONT OF CAR. SECOND TIME BRAKES WERE APPLIED TO VEHICLE WITH NO ONE IN FRONT OF CAR, LEADING TO CAR INDUCED PANIC STOP ON ROAD, THANKFULLY, NO ONE WAS TRAILING MY CAR AT THAT TIME. HONDA TEST DROVE AND COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING; SINCE THIS IS SPORADIC, THIS WAS NOT SURPRISING. TOLD THEM IT IS A VERY DANGEROUS CONDITION AND THAT THIS IS A WELL DOCUMENTED COMPLAINT ON WEBSITES; THEY TOLD US WE CAN TURN OFF FRONT MITIGATION COLLISION SYSTEM EACH TIME WE DRIVE. REQUESTED DEALERSHIP GENERAL MANAGER TO REPORT THIS CONDITION TO REGIONAL DIRECTOR AT HONDA

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO CARMAX (2750 STONERIDGE DR, PLEASANTON, CA 94588, (925) 600-0741) WHERE THE FUSE WAS REPLACED TWICE, BUT THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE VEHICLE WAS CURRENTLY AWAITING REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 12,000.
MY VEHICLE'S BACKUP CAMERA SOFTWARE HAS FAILED AGAIN DESPITE BEING "FIXED" ONCE ALREADY. THE VEHICLE WAS RECALLED IN 2018 TO FIX DEFECTIVE SOFTWARE THAT CAUSED THE BACKUP CAMERA TO NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY. THE CAMERA'S COLLISION SENSOR QUIT WORKING AND FAILED TO WARN ME OF OBJECTS IN MY PATH WHEN I WAS BACKING UP. HONDA LOADED NEW SOFTWARE, BUT THE PROBLEM HAS PERSISTED. I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALER FOR ANOTHER REPAIR, BUT I GOT THE SAME OLD SONG AND DANCE... "GEE, IT'S WORKING FINE FOR US, AND WE CAN'T FIX IT IF IT AIN'T BROKE!" WELL IT IS BROKEN, AND HONDA WON'T FIX IT. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE, AND I HOPE THE NHTSA CAN HELP ME GET IT RESOLVED.
MY 2018 HONDA ACCORD BRAKED SPONTANEOUSLY FOR NO REASON. THE WORD BRAKE APPEARS ON THE CONSOLE AND THE CAR ENGAGES THE BRAKES SUDDENLY AND FORCEFULLY. I'VE HAD SEVERAL INCIDENTS AND THERE WERE NO VEHICLES OR OBJECTS IN FRONT OF MY VEHICLE. DURING TWO EPISODES, I WAS DRIVING 40 MPH WHEN MY CAR BRAKED SPONTANEOUSLY- IT CAUSED MY HEAD/NECK TO JERK FORWARD. FORTUNATELY, THE VEHICLES BEHIND ME DID NOT TEAR END ME. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP. THEY SAID THE BRAKE MITIGATION SYSTEM ENGAGES WHEN DRIVING THROUGH CONSTRUCTION ZONES AND TOLD ME TO TURN OFF THE SYSTEM IN CONSTRUCTION ZONES. HE SAID 'THAT'S HOW THE SYSTEM IS DESIGNED TO WORK'. I WAS NOT IN A CONSTRUCTION ZONE. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. IT APPEARS HONDA IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM AND IS NOT TAKING STEPS TO CORRECT IT.
I had owned a 2018 Honda Accord which I had purchased in 2019. I had owned the car for about 6 months when the situation occurred. I had been about 30-50 before a railroad track and had already slowed down to 30-35 mph at this point. My dash lit up with the word 'brake' and the brakes went on automatically. There was nothing in front of me but the approaching train track which shouldn't set off the sensing function. I had a truck behind me which thankfully didn't hit me although he did blare his horn at me due to the unexpected braking. I went home and started looking online to see if other honda owners had similar experiences. There were stories from driving down the freeway going 70+ mph and having the same issue with nothing in front of them and coming to a complete stop to people having accidents because of the braking issues, etc. The next day, I called Honda and they stated that they were aware of the issues but were not planning on issuing a recall. I called the dealership and spoke to the manager and stated that I was going to return the car that day. He asked if they could check out the brake situation and I stated if Honda knows of the issue but is not planning a recall, then what is the mechanic at the dealership going to fix? I declined his offer and returned the car that evening. When I got to the dealership, the manager wouldn't even come and face me, which was another issue. I sunk money into a faulty car that I will never see back. I went to a different dealership and bought a different brand of car. To this day, if I see another Honda in front of me while driving, I let off of the gas because knowing the braking issue that I had, I don't want to be involved in an accident if they other Honda driver has braking issues.
THIS IS A LEASED 2018 HONDA ACCORD, THE VEHICLE HAS 8000 MILES ON IT. THE SAFETY PROBLEM ON THIS VEHICLE IS THAT THE ELECTRIC SYSTEM HAS SHORTED 5 BATTERIES AND HAS LEFT ME STRANDED IN VARIOUS LOCATIONS, LENDING TO UNSAFE CONDITIONS. THE HONDA DEALER HAS REPLACED 5 BATTERIES ON MY VEHICLE AND NOW MY CAR HAS BROKEN-DOWN AGAIN MAKING IT SIX SHORTED BATTERIES ON A VEHICLE THAT BARELY HAS 8K MILES. WHEN I TALKED TO KYLE LAMPP, ASSISTANT SERVICE MANAGER AT BRANDON HONDA, HE STATED HONDA CORP. KNOWS ABOUT THE ELECTRIC PROBLEMS AND THEY ARE UNWILLING TO ADDRESS IT BECAUSE OF COST. WHEN DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AND HIGHER MPH (50+) ROADS, GENERALLY BUT NOT ALWAYS WITH THE CRUSE CONTROL ON, THE BRAKES SUDDENLY APPLY THEMSELVES VERY HARD CAUSING THE CAR TO BECOME A SITTING TARGET FOR CARS COMING FROM BEHIND. THIS HAS HAPPENED A MULTITUDE OF TIMES AND WHEN IT WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WITH A COMPLAINT ABOUT IT THEY KEPT THE CAR BUT RETURNED IT SAYING THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING TO REPAIR.
The infotainment unit on the 2018 Honda Accord does not properly sync up with a music player (such as any given phone) over Bluetooth. This is manifested by the information from the previous track being shown while another track is playing. Honda has been unwilling to properly address the issue via a recall or a software update. Their typical response (to just about every issue) is to take it to the dealer, who is not able to properly troubleshoot and address issues which were caused by the Honda's failures in software (and hardware) development. Ad video of the issue is available (Honda dealer and Honda pretty much refuse to take the videos as an evidence of the issue).
WHEN I WENT TO THE HONDA DEALER IN 2019 TO CHANGE MY OIL, THEY HAVE SAID THAT MY REAR BRAKE PADS NEED TO BE REPLACED EVEN THOUGH I HAVE HAD THE VEHICLE FOR A COUPLE OF MONTHS. IT WAS VERY BIZARRE TO ME AS THE CAR IS FWD AND THE ENGINE IS IN THE FRONT, THUS MAKING MORE STRESS ON THE FRONT BRAKE PADS INSTEAD OF THE REAR BRAKE PADS. OTHER HONDA ACCORD 2018-2020 OWNERS HAVE COMPLAINED OF THIS SAME ISSUE AND I HOPE IT CAN BE RESOLVED AS IT SEEMS THAT THE REAR BRAKE PADS WEAR OFF TOO FAST. THE CAR WAS STATIONARY AT THE TIME OF NOTICE.
1. The component/system that failed, malfunctioned, or is defective is unknown. The clinking/rattling noise appears to be coming from the cabin and the right side of the vehicle. Yes, the vehicle is available for inspection upon request. 2. My safety is put at risk each time I drive the vehicle. The noise sounds like a loose component or system; consumer does not feel comfortable driving the vehicle on the highway. 3. Yes, the problem has been reproduced and confirmed by a dealer; a Honda service manager test-drove the vehicle on 8/9/2021 and compared the noise to same/like model; both showed the same noises. 4. No, the vehicle or component has not been inspected by the manufacturer, even though the consumer made a request for the manufacturer (American Honda) to do so. 5. Yes, there were symptoms of the problem prior to the failure; the rattling noise was soft at first, but then became progressively louder.
ON AUGUST THE 7 I WASHED MY HONDA ACCORD. I NOTICED THAT THE CLEAR COAT IS COMING OFF. I MADE AN APPOINTMENT WITH THE HONDA DEALERSHIP THAT I BOUGHT THE CAR FROM. I TOOK IT ON AUGUST THE 8. THEY TOOK PICS OF THE CAR AND TOLD ME THEY WOULD CONTACT THERE SALES REP ABOUT THIS. I CONTACTED THEM OM MONDAY AUGUST THE 12 ABOUT THE MATTER. THEY CONTACTED ME BACK THAT EVENING AND TOLD ME IT WAS AN ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUE. LIKE RAIN STUFF FROM THE ROADS AND TREE SAP THAT I NEED TO CONTACT MY INSURANCE COMPANY ABOUT THIS.I HAVE ONLY HAD THE CAR 7 MONTHS. THE CAR ONLY HAS AROUND 7600 HUNDRED MILES ON IT.
WINDSHIELD CHIPS STARTED FROM ALMOST DAY ONE OF PURCHASE. THE SMALLEST OF ROAD DEBRIS HAVE CAUSED MULTIPLES OF GLASS CHIPS TO ACCUMULATE ACROSS THE WINDSHIELD OVER TIME. THE FIRST SURFACE OF THE GLASS IS VERY "BRITTLE" AND EASY TO CHIP WITH THE LIGHTEST OF CONTACT. CHIPS FORM EASILY AT LOW SPEEDS. AS COMPARED TO OTHER VEHICLES I HAVE DRIVEN, AN UNUSUALLY LOUD "SNAPPING/CRACKING" SOUND OCCURS UPON ANY WINDSHIELD CONTACT INCLUDING BUGS AND RAIN. CHIPS OCCUR IN IRREGULAR "CLUSTERS" UPON IMPACT. I HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED THIS ON OTHER VEHICLES. I HAVE TRIED TO IGNORE THE PERIPHERAL CHIPS BUT NOW THEY ARE STARTING TO FORM IN MY FIELD OF VIEW. VERY DISSATISFYING AND DISAPPOINTING.

ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL (ACC) FAILS DURING USE, THE VEHICLE CAN AUTOMATICALLY ACCELERATE TO A SET SPEED AND SLOW DOWN WHEN IT SENSES A VEHICLE WITHIN A CLOSE PROXIMITY. WHEN THE ACC IS ACTIVE AND AFTER A FEW TIMES OF NEEDING TO AUTOMATICALLY SLOW DOWN WHEN ANOTHER VEHICLE IS IN FRONT OF THE VEHICLE, THE SYSTEM SHUTS DOWN AND AN ERROR MESSAGE APPEARS, " COLLISION MITIGATION BRAKING SYSTEM PROBLEM. SEE YOUR DEALER". I'VE TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND THERE WAS NO FIX TO THE PROBLEM, MY VEHICLE IS STILL CURRENTLY UNDER WARRANTY AND I WAS DISAPPOINTED THAT THERE WAS NO FIX TO THIS PROBLEM. THE DATE LISTED BELOW WAS THE MOST RECENT DATE THAT THE SAME INCIDENT OCCURRED, I TOOK THE VEHICLE IN TO SOUTH MOTORS HONDA DEALER BACK IN 2018 SHORTLY AFTER PURCHASING THE VEHICLE.
HONDA'S COLLISION MITIGATION SYSTEM SHUTS DOWN, DISALLOWING CRUISE CONTROL AND ALL SAFETY FEATURES THAT ARE INCLUDED IN THE COLLISION MITIGATION SYSTEM. DEALER CANNOT FIND CAUSE. TURNING OFF THE CAR AND RESTARTING IT RESETS IT, BUT WHEN IT TURNS OFF, THERE IS NO CLEAR FACTOR AS TO WHY IT HAPPENED. THERE IS A SAFETY RISK IF YOU ARE USING CRUISE CONTROL, AS IT COULD FAIL TO BRAKE WHEN THE CAR IN FRONT OF YOU SLOWS DOWN. IT HAS HAPPENED 4 OR 5 TIMES IN THE PAST 8 MONTHS SINCE I BOUGHT IT BRAND NEW.
WHILE DRIVING STRAIGHT, THE CAR WANDERS FROM SIDE TO SIDE. MINOR CORRECTIONS ARE NEEDED TO ATTEMPT TO KEEP THE CAR GOING IN A STRAIGHT LINE. A MINOR MOVE TO THE LEFT, THEN FOLLOWED BY A MINOR MOVE TO THE RIGHT AND SO ON. THIS HAPPENS AT LOW SPEEDS AND AT HIGH SPEEDS (OVER 60MPH THE DRIVE CAN BE QUITE SCARY). I TOOK THE VEHICLE INTO A DEALERSHIP AND THEY COULD NOT REPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THEY WERE GOING TO HAVE A HONDA FIELD REP COME TAKE A LOOK, BUT 1 WEEK LATER I HAVE NOT HEARD BACK. THERE IS NO SERVICE BULLETIN OR ACTIVE RECALL DESPITE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE STEERING RACK 53600-TVA-A18 WHICH MY ACCORD HAS AND IS NO LONGER AN ACTIVE HONDA PART, NOW REPLACED WITH A NEW PART NUMBER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND A COMPLAINT WAS FILED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,000.
MY VEHICLE HAS MISSING STRUCTURAL ADHESIVE ON THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE SUSPENSION STRUT TOWER. IT APPEARS THE ROBOT THAT BONDS THE PIECES OF METAL TOGETHER WITH ADHESIVE EITHER HAD AN AIR BUBBLE IN THE LINE WHEN THIS VEHICLE WAS MADE OR THERE WAS SOME OTHER DEFECT. IN ADDITION, THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTS EXTREMELY ROUGH AND NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE BY HONDA TO CORRECT THE ISSUE. I ALSO HAD TO HAVE BUBBLES FIXED IN THE PAINT ON THE TRUNK LID. THE ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL IS NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TO USE BECAUSE IT DOES NOT DETECT VEHICLES AHEAD AND ACCELERATES RAPIDLY OR APPLIES THE BRAKES ABRUPTLY FOR NO REASON. AMERICAN HONDA WAS NOTIFIED OF THE DEFECT IN THE SUSPENSION STRUT TOWER ADHESIVE BUT REFUSED TO SEND AN ENGINEER TO LOOK AT THE CAR. IN MY OPINION, ANY MISSING STRUCTURAL ADHESIVE USED TO JOIN METAL, ESPECIALLY ON A HIGHLY DRESSED PLACE SUCH AS THE STRUT TOWER, COULD EASILY BECOME A SAFETY DEFECT. I WOULD PREFER MY VEHICLE BE BOUGHT BACK FROM HONDA AS IT APPEARS TO BE A LEMON.
7/17/19. 2018 ACCORD TOURING 2.0 PURCHASED NEW IN NOVEMBER (HAS ABOUT 11,000 MILES NOW). I WAS DRIVING 65MPH ON HIGHWAY WHEN CAR MADE LOUD CLUNKING NOISE, BEGAN TO SMOKE INTENSELY, AND SHUDDERED TO A STOP AND DIED. I WAS ON BLUETOOTH PHONE CALL AT THE TIME AND THE PERSON ON THE OTHER END HEARD IT AND ASKED WHAT IT WAS. I SAID I THOUGHT THE ENGINE WAS ON FIRE. I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER JUST AS EVERY POSSIBLE WARNING LIGHT FLASHED ON DASH AND PROFUSE SMOKE POURED FROM SIDES AND UNDER HOOD. I JUMPED OUT AND MOVED AWAY FROM VEHICLE, SEEING A LONG STREAM OF LIQUID FROM UNDER THE CAR ALONG THE ROAD WHERE I HAD PULLED OVER. FIRE RESCUE CAME, ALTHOUGH THE CAR DID NOT IGNITE. THEY AND THE ROADSIDE SERVICE MAN ADVISED ME THAT OIL HAD EXPLODED EVERYWHERE, AS FROM A HIGH PRESSURE SITUATION. THE CAR HAS HAD ONE OIL CHANGE AT THE DEALER, PER ITS MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE, AND OTHERWISE HAS HAD NOTHING DONE. I DID HEAR A STRANGE NOISE COMING FROM IT THE PREVIOUS EVENING--LOUD ENOUGH THAT I CHECKED TO SEE IF IT HAD ANY MAINTENANCE WARNINGS, WHICH IT DID NOT. IT SAID MY OIL WAS AT 60% AND WOULD NEED A B1 WHEN IT WAS TIME. AFTER MY CAR DIED, IT REQUIRED A TOW TO THE DEALERSHIP. THE DEALER SAID THEY COULD NOT EVEN TURN IT ON AND THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT IS WRONG, BUT THEY NEED A SPECIALIST TO COME LOOK AT IT. I'M CONCERNED ABOUT HOW UTTERLY DANGEROUS THE SITUATION WAS. IF IT HAD BEEN LATER IN THE DAY WITH HEAVIER TRAFFIC, MY LIFE WOULD HAVE BEEN AT EVEN GREATER RISK. IT SEEMS REALLY UNUSUAL TO HAVE SUCH A CATASTROPHIC FAILURE FOR NO REASON ON A NEW, HISTORICALLY RELIABLE VEHICLE.
