'TAKATA RECALL' MY TRUNK WILL NOT OPEN BY KEY FOB OR BY PRESSING THE BUTTON ALONG SIDE THE DRIVER DOOR. I HAVE TO MANUALLY USE MY KEY INSIDE THE BACK PASSENGER SEAT WHERE THERE'S AN KEY LOCK AREA TO OPEN THE TRUNK.
THE SHIFT FROM 2ND TO 3RD GEAR, UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS, IS SO UNSAFELY VIOLENT THAT IT FEELS LIKE THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN REAR ENDED. THE CONDITION OCCURS WHILE ACCELERATING AT A MILD PACE AND WHEN THE VEHICLE HAS YET TO WARM UP. THE CONDITION IS PRESENT IN BOTH ECON AND NORMAL DRIVE MODES. THE CONDITION HAS NOT BEEN EXPERIENCED IN SPORT MODE. THE CONDITION OCCURS AT LEAST ONCE A WEEK.
WHILE DRIVING WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL ON THE COLLISION MITIGATION AND BRAKING SYSTEM WILL INTERMITTENTLY TURN OFF AND DISABLE THE CRUISE CONTROL. DEALER SAYS NOTHING IS WRONG, CLAIM THE SENSORS ARE OVERLOADED. THIS CAN HAPPEN ON BRIGHT SUNNY DAYS, CLOUDY DAYS AND AT NIGHT. SENSOR ON FRONT OF CAR IS CLEAN; NO BUGS, SMEARS OR LIQUIDS. WILL RESET WITH A STOP/START OF THE ENGINE. CODE CHECK REVEALED. UO401-53 TEMPORARY STOP OF INTEGRATED DRIVER SUPPORT SYSTEM -- RECEIVED STOP REQUEST BY PGM-FI SYSTEM. ERROR CODE 401-93 TEMPORARY STOP OF INTEGRATED DRIVER SUPPORT SYSTEM -- RECEIVED STOP REQUEST BY PGM-FI SYSTEM. THIS HAPPENS ONLY WHEN THE CRUISE CONTROL IS ON AND MOVING. THIS HAS HAPPENED AT LEAST 12 TIMES IN THE PAST 8 MONTHS, MOST RECENT WAS TODAY.
HEAVY RAIN STARTED TO FALL WHILE TRAVELING 70 MPH ON A HIGHWAY. WINDSHIELD WIPERS NOT MOVING FAST ENOUGH CAUSING ME TO BECOME BLINDED AND NO ABILITY TO SEE WHILE HUGE TRUCKS SOON PASS STRAIGHT ME CAUSING MORE WATER TO LAND ON THE WINDSHIELD.
5 BRAKING ERROR MESSAGES APPEARED AFTER BEING PARKED FOR 4 HOURS: ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE SYSTEM PROBLEM, BRAKE SYSTEM PROBLEM, BRAKE HOLD SYSTEM PROBLEM, ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM PROBLEM, VEHICLE STABILITY ASSIST SYSTEM PROBLEM. ALL ERRORS DIRECTED ME TO "SEE YOUR DEALER". THE VEHICLE OPERATED PERFECTLY PRIOR TO THIS. I WAS UNABLE TO START THE CAR OR EVEN LOCK IT AFTER THESE ERRORS APPEARED. THE BATTERY WAS ALSO DRAINED BECAUSE THESE MESSAGES KEPT APPEARING.
TWO SEPARATE ISSUES: 1) WITH ONLY 2,400 MILES ON THE ACCORD, ON OCTOBER 7, 2018 IT SUDDENLY LOST POWER 2 OR 3 TIMES OVER A 60-MILE STRETCH OF THE BUSY 405 FREEWAY, EACH TIME SLOWING FROM 65 MPH TO APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH OR LESS DESPITE MAINTAINING EVEN PRESSURE ON THE ACCELERATOR. THE CAR DID NOT RESPOND TO PRESSURE ON THE GAS PEDAL. NO CRUISE CONTROL WAS USED AT ANY TIME. THE SUDDEN DECELERATION COULD HAVE CAUSED A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. 2) ON NOVEMBER 30, 2018, I ATTEMPTED TO RESUME MOTION AFTER STOPPING FOR A RED LIGHT. THE ACCORD'S GAS PEDAL FAILED TO RESPOND FOR APPROXIMATELY 5 TO 6 SECONDS, THEN SUDDENLY LURCHED FORWARD. THIS ALSO COULD HAVE CAUSED A SERIOUS ACCIDENT.
DRIVING MY NEW 2018 ACCORD EX-L 2.0 IN THE LEFT LANE ON I65 GOING SOUTH TOWARD LAFAYETTE IN ON FRIDAY OCTOBER 5. THERE WERE TWO SOUTHBOUND LANES. CONDITIONS WERE WET BUT IT WAS NOT RAINING HARD AT THE TIME. HAD ACC AND OTHER SAFETY FEATURES ON. WAS PASSING A SEMI (THAT WAS GOING ABOUT 70-71 MPH) AT ABOUT 75 MPH WHEN A CAR CAME UP BEHIND ME GOING MUCH FASTER THAN ME. I ACCELERATED TO MOVE IN FRONT OF THE TRUCK AND IMMEDIATELY LOST ALL ACCELERATION. THE SMALL YELLOW CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND I WAS STEADILY LOSING SPEED. I MANEUVERED OVER TO THE RIGHT SHOULDER GOING ABOUT 50. HAD TO KEEP THE ENGINE REVVED AT 3000 RPM AND STILL WAS STEADILY LOSING SPEED WHILE DRIVING ON THE SHOULDER. EVENTUALLY PULLED OFF AT THE FIRST EXIT AFTER ABOUT 2 MILES ON THE SHOULDER AND WAS GOING ABOUT 15 MPH AT THE TIME. TURNED OFF THE CAR, WAITED FOR A FEW MINUTES, AND STARTED IT UP. IT DROVE FINE AND THE ENGINE LIGHT STAYED OFF. I HAD MY WIFE AND TWO DAUGHTERS IN THE CAR. WE EASILY COULD HAVE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT ON A BUSY TWO-LANE INTERSTATE WITH MANY SEMIS. DEALER SAYS THERE ARE NO CODES TO CHECK FROM THE CEL AND THAT ALL HOSES, ETC ARE CONNECTED AND THAT THE CAR IS FINE. IT WASN'T FINE WHEN IT LOST POWER ON THE HIGHWAY. I SUSPECT AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM OR SOMETHING WITH THE FUEL PUMP.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 HONDA ACCORD. WHILE AT A STOP LIGHT, THE VEHICLE STALLED AND THE TRANSMISSION AND BRAKE WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED AND WAS ABLE TO DRIVE NORMALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO HONDA OF CONCORD (LOCATED AT 7650 BRUTON SMITH BLVD, CONCORD, NC 28027, (704) 774-4538) TO BE DIAGNOSED, BUT A FAILURE CODE COULD NOT BE FOUND. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 37,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 HONDA ACCORD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN SHE PRESSED THE FUEL TANK DOOR, IT FAILED TO OPEN. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER TO BE DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 200.
I have had multiple instances (since purchasing the vehicle new at the end of the of the 2018 model year (Sept 2018) of my 2018 Honda Accord LX suddenly braking when there was no reason to brake. I talked with my service advisor at Dave Mungenast Honda in St. Louis, MO within the first month of taking delivery of this new vehicle about this issue and was told that nothing is saved (in vehicle memory/hard drive or other) so they would not be able to diagnose unless it had just happened prior to driving in for service. I said it was dangerous but no one was concerned (I told my kids about this and don't let them drive this car, I bought a 2022 Honda Civic also with Honda Sensing safety system (with auto braking etc.) and no issues with this car, after 8000 miles, zero issues like the 2018 Accord, none.) They said its likely just their Honda Sensing auto/safety braking system activated and its not perfect. They said if I'm still concerned and when or if it happens again feel free to drive directly to their service department (not practical, since they are not open 24/7 and often not possible to disrupt daily routine. It has happened at least 10+ times since the initial scary episode and I only have about 23,000 miles on this car (with little driving last two years during pandemic). I have had it happen in exactly the same spot 2-3 times. Whenever this happens, it's always the same, the dashboard lights up saying "BRAKE" while the vehicle simultaneously/suddenly applys the brakes, fairly hard. The brakes have never locked up completely but the auto braking is a sudden unexpected moderate to hard brake, only lasting a second or two, and then the braking automatically releases. I'm officially reporting this now, even though my events are not as recent, because I just learned other are experiencing the same issue and I believe this should be addressed by Honda and corrected before someone is injured or killed in a rear end collision.
I HAD AN EVENT WITH MY TURBO HOSE BEING LOOSE, DEALER TECH SAID MUST HAVE BEEN LOOSE COMING FROM THE FACTORY. HERE IS THE THREAD. MY SITUATION IS ILLUSTRATED WITH MY HANDLE, "MIKIWOLF". BASICALLY, LOST POWER IN MY VEHICLE AFTER 1850 MILES AND HAD IT TOWED TO DEALERSHIP. AT FIRST THEY SAID IT WAS BAD FUEL AND QUOTED ME $800 TO CLEAN THE FUEL TANK. TECH KEPT USING "ETHANOL" AND "WATER" INTERCHANGEABLY WHICH CONFUSED ME. A DAY LATER I WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THE TECH SAID IT WAS BAD GAS WITH JUST 5% ETHANOL, FUEL WAS TOO RICH CREATING THE PROBLEM FOR ME. EVEN AFTER I EXPRESSED THAT ETHANOL IS SIMPLY AN ADDITIVE, IT MEANT LITTLE TO THIS 20-SOMETHING KID. LONG STORY SHORT, AFTER I ASKED HIM TO TEST FOR WATER, HE WOUND UP DOING A VISUAL INSPECTION AND FOUND THE TURBO INLET PIPE WAS LOOSE, TIGHTENED IT, AND DID A TEST DRIVE - PROBLEM FIXED. THE TECH WENT ON TO SAY THAT HIS INTERNAL FORUM SHOWS THIS SITUATION HAPPENING MORE AND MORE WITH ACCORDS. HE THINKS THEY ARE COMING FROM THE FACTORY TOO LOOSE AND GOING FORWARD HE KNOWS WHAT TO LOOK FOR NOW. THE DEALERSHIP DID THE RIGHT THING TO WORK WITH ME AND RECONCILE THEIR FINDINGS WITH ME. PROBLEM IS, NOT EVERYONE IS AS TECHNICAL AS I AM AND OVERALL HONDA SEEMS TO HAVE A BUILD ISSUE TO RESOLVE AND BROADLY INVESTIGATE.
MY BRAND NEW 2018 HONDA ACCORD 2.0T W/ AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION IS HAVING ISSUES. IT SHIFTS VERY ROUGHLY SOMETIMES, I NOTICE THE PROBLEM MOST WHEN THE ENGINE IS COLD, HOWEVER IT STILL HAPPENS FREQUENTLY WHEN ENGINE IS AT NORMAL OPERATING TEMPERATURES. I UNDERSTAND THAT ITS A FIRST YEAR PRODUCTION VEHICLE AND A NEWLY DESIGNED TRANSMISSION BUT HAVING PROBLEMS LIKE THIS WITH UNDER 700.00 MILES IS EXCUSABLE. THE PROBLEM DID NOT SUDDENLY START, I NOTICED THE PROBLEM SOON AFTER DRIVING OFF THE DEALER LOT FOR THE FIRST TIME. AND LET ME BE CLEAR, I UNDERSTAND WHAT "BREAK IN PERIODS" ARE FOR CARS AND I HAVE NOT DRIVEN THIS VEHICLE AGGRESSIVELY AT ALL YET, THE VERY ROUGH SHIFTS HAPPEN AT JUST NORMAL EVERYDAY DRIVING.
WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS WITH ACC (ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL) ENABLED AND LKAS (LANE KEEP ASSIST) ENABLED AND PASSING A CAR AND ANOTHER TIME AN 18 WHEEL TRUCK, THE CAR SUDDENLY AND ABRUPTLY BRAKED TO SLOW DOWN 5 MPH. THE ROAD WAS STRAIGHT AND NO CARS WERE IN FRONT OF ME. THIS WAS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION BECAUSE CARS WERE BEHIND ME AND THEY ALL HAD TO REACT TO SLOW DOWN. T
MONDAY SEPTEMBER 24TH, 2018, I WAS TRAVELING ON U.S. HIGHWAY 19 AND A VEHICLE TURNED OFF ABOUT A HALF MILE AHEAD OF ME WHILE I HAD THE CRUISE CONTROL ENGAGED. THE VEHICLE HAD COMPLETELY CLEARED THE ROAD AND MY CAR SLAMMED ON BRAKES CAUSING EVERYTHING IN THE VEHICLE TO BE THROWN INTO THE FLOORBOARD. HAD THERE BEEN A CAR BEHIND ME, THE CAR WOULD HAVE REAR-ENDED MY VEHICLE. THERE CONTINUES TO BE AN ISSUE WHERE THE SENSOR RECOGNIZES SOMETHING IN THE ROAD THAT IS NOT THERE OR A VEHICLE THAT HAS ALREADY CLEARED THE ROAD AND SLAMS ON BRAKES. THIS CREATES A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE AND IS DAMAGING ON THE BRAKES. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING WITH THIS SYSTEM ENGAGED BECAUSE I DO NOT KNOW WHEN THE VEHICLE WILL SLAM ON BRAKES CAUSING OTHER DRIVERS TO REAR-END ME.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 HONDA ACCORD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR CAMERA SYSTEM FAILED TO FUNCTION PROPERLY. THE CONTACT CALLED HONDA OF COVINGTON (100 HOLIDAY SQUARE BLVD, COVINGTON, LA 70433, 1-877-892-0042) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED PER THE RECALL. THE CONTACT EXPLAINED TO THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER THAT THE REMEDY OF REPROGRAMMING THE DISPLAY AUDIO UNIT SOFTWARE FAILED. THE CONTACT WAS NOT NOTIFIED VIA MAIL OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V629000 (VISIBILITY: REARVIEW MIRRORS/DEVICES); HOWEVER, HE RECEIVED A NOTIFICATION VIA THE MANUFACTURER'S APP. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED AGAIN BY THE DEALER. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 HONDA ACCORD. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 75 MPH AND DECELERATING TO 15 MPH, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT IMMEDIATELY ACCELERATE WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. IT TOOK THREE TO FIVE SECONDS BEFORE THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED PROPERLY. THE FAILURE OCCURRED ON THREE DIFFERENT OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO POHANKA HONDA OF FREDRICKSBURG (60 S. GATEWAY DR, FREDRICKSBURG, VA) TO BE DIAGNOSED, BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 7,089. *AS *TR *TT CONSUMER STATED THE SERVICE MANAGER DROVE MY CAR FOR A WEEK. HE DUPLICATED THE PROBLEM. TOLD ME THAT IS THE WAY IT WORKS. HE WILL NOT RETURN MY CALL. HE WILL NOT TELL ME IF HE DUPLICATED THE SAME ON ANOTHER CAR. *JB
PURCHASED ACCORD 8/25/2018, 103 MILES ON CAR AT TIME OF PURCHASE. DRIVING THAT SAME NIGHT AST AROUND 30MPH ON RESIDENTIAL 2 LANE ROAD. CAR CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP ON ITS OWN. COLLISION MITIGATION SYSTEM ERROR CAME ON DASHBOARD. TOOK TO DEALER 8/27/2018. DEALER RESET THE SYSTEM AND TOLD US EVERYTHING OKAY. SEVEN DAYS LATER CAR CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP IDENTICAL TO 1ST INCIDENT. CMS ERROR CAME ON AGAIN IN ADDITION TO TOTAL ELECTRICAL SYSTEM FAILURE. TOOK TO DEALER, THEY REPLACED THE MOTHER BOARD AND RESET THE CMS AS WELL. 9/16/2018 - TRAVELING ON 4 LANE HWY AT 50 MPH. CAR ACTIVATED BRAKES AGAIN AND BROUGHT THE CAR TO A COMPLETE STOP. THIS INCIDENT ALMOST RESULTED IN A REAR END COLLISION. DRIVER BEHIND WAS ABLE TO SWERVE AND AVOID HITTING US. EACH INCIDENT THERE WAS NO DRIVERS AHEAD OF ME, NO ANIMALS/ITEMS CROSSING PATH. COMPLETELY RANDOM AND CANNOT WILLING REPLICATE. 9/18/2018 DEALER IS NOW COMING TO PICK THE CAR UP AND WORK WITH HONDA ENGINEERS TO DETERMINE THE ISSUE. THIS A A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN THAT WILL AT SOME POINT CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY TO OPERATOR AND OTHER DRIVERS ON THE ROAD. HONDA MUST RECALL THIS FEATURE IMMEDIATELY. WE HAVE ALSO CONTACTED THE IOWA ATTY GENERAL OFFICE TO REPORT ISSUE.
I BOUGHT A NEW ACCORD IN SEPTEMBER 2018, THERE WAS NOISE IN THE CAR, THE ENGINE ALSO HAD ABNORMAL SOUNDS, TERRIBLE DEALERS, TERRIBLE SERVICE, TERRIBLE AMERICAN HONDA! THEY CAN'T SOLVE THE PROBLEM, JUST SHIRK EACH OTHER'S RESPONSIBILITY! RECENTLY I FOUND THAT THE LANE KEEP SYSTEM IS NOT WORKING PROPERLY.I HAVE ALREADY GONE TO THE HONDA SERVICE STATION 10 TIMES FOR THESE QUESTIONS! BUT THEY JUST TOLD ME THAT THESE ARE NOT PROBLEMS. IT'S JUST UNACCEPTABLE.
The contact owns a 2018 Honda Accord. The contact stated that on several occasions while driving at various speeds, the Forward Collision Avoidance: Automatic Emergency Braking inadvertently activated. Additionally, the contact stated that while driving at various speeds, on various occasions, the seat belt sensor message appeared. The vehicle was taken to a dealer multiple times where the failure was not able to be duplicated. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
REVERSE CAMERA QUIT WORKING AND AUTO MATIC BREAKING BROS OUT ALPHA KNOWN WHEN USING CRUISE CONTROL
I WAS DRIVING DOWN A BUSY ROAD IN MY TOWN AND NO CARS WERE IN FRONT OF ME AND I DID NOT LANE DEPARTURE AT ALL AND THE CAR SUDDENLY CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP ALMOST FOR NO REASON THANKFULLY NO CARS WERE BEHIND ME. THIS ALSO HAPPENED AGAIN WHEN I WAS ON THE FREEWAY THERE WAS NO CAR IN FRONT OF ME AND THE CAR BEHIND ME WAS COMING UP FAST LUCKILY THEY NOTICED MY CAR BRAKING AND GOT OVER. SOMETIMES MY COMPUTER SYSTEM SHUTS OFF AND MY RADIO AND MY WHOLE DASH IF FROZEN I CAN'T DO THE TOUCHSCEEEN OR ANY OF THE SIDE BUTTONS AS NONE OF IT WILL WORK THEY ONLY WAY FOR IT WORK IS TO TURN MY CAR OFF AND TURN IT BACK ON. THE BACKUP CAMERA ALSO TAKES A WHILE TO GO ON I PUT MY CAR IN REVERSE AND THE SCREEN IS BLACK AND I PUT IT IN PARK AND REVERSE AGAIN AND IT WORKS PERFECTLY FINE.
COLLISION MITIGATION SYSTEM WOULD ACTIVATE AT RANDOM TIMES EVEN WHEN THERE IS NOTHING IN FRONT OF THE CAR AND WOULD SLAM ON THE BRAKE WHEN THE VEHICLE IS MOVING SLOWLY AT AROUND 3 MILES PER HOURS IN A DRIVEWAY.
FRONT DRIVER SIDE RIM HAS A CHIP. REAR PASSENGER DOOR MISS ALIGNED REAR DRIVER SIDE DOOR RUBBER IS COMING OFF REAR DRIVER PANEL HAS PAINT DEFECTS
FAULTY BACKUP CAMERA. WHILE BACKING UP HIT A CAR AND HONDA IS NOT TAKING ANY RESPONSABILITY.
WHILE IN MOTION IN REVERSE MY CAMERA DID NOT WORK PROPERLY AND I STRUCK ANOTHER VEHICLE WHILE TURNING SLIGHTLY.
UPON DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY AT 60 MPH AT NIGHT, THE ACCELERATOR PEDDLE WAS RAPIDLY DEPRESSED TO AVOID ANOTHER RAPIDLY ONCOMING CAR FROM THE REAR OF MY CAR. MY CAR STUMBLED AND A BLINKING CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. THE CAR THEN WENT INTO AN OPERATING MODE IN WHICH ABOUT 80% OF THE CAR'S POWER WAS LOST AND COULD ONLY BE DRIVEN VERY SLOWLY. THE CAR WAS ABLE TO BE DRIVEN 5 MILES TO MY HOUSE. AT HOME THE CAR WAS TURNED OFF. UPON RESTARTING, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS OFF AND THE CAR THEN PERFORMED NORMALLY. A SIMILAR INCIDENT PREVIOUSLY OCCURRED BUT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT DID NOT COME ON. SEVERAL DAYS AFTER THIS INCIDENT, THE CAR WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM AND THERE WAS NO FAULT CODES REPORTED FROM THE ENGINE CONTROL MODULE. AS A RESULT, THE DEALER DID NOTHING. THIS IS SURPRISING SINCE THIS WAS A MAJOR PERFORMANCE AND SAFETY ANOMALY FOR THIS CAR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED REGARDING THIS PROBLEM, HOWEVER, NO ACTION OR COMMENT FROM THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPARTMENT HAS BEEN RECEIVED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 HONDA ACCORD. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING AND DECELERATED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. THE SOURCE OF THE FAILURE WAS UNDETERMINED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONED IN GERMANY AND REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V629000 (BACK OVER PREVENTION, VISIBILITY). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 13,000.

WAS STOPPED AT A STOP LIGHT AND THE TRAFFIC SIGN IN THE DASHBOARD IN THE CAR SHOWED THE SPEED LIMIT WAS 100MPH WHEN IN FACT THE SPEED LIMIT WAS 25MPH AS I WAS AT A 4-WAY INTERSECTION .
ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS THIS CARS COLLISION MITIGATION SYSTEM HAS APPLIED THE BRAKES WITHOUT ANY REASON AND THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE FOR THE PUBLIC AT LARGE AND NEEDS IMMEDIATE ATTENTION FROM HONDA. I'VE SEEN SOME COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE 2017 AND 2018 CRV DOING THIS EXACT SAME THING.
I HAVE GOTTEN THE WARNING ON MY DASH STATING "COLLISION MITIGATION BRAKING SYSTEM PROBLEM. SEE DEALER" SEVERAL TIMES PER WEEK SINCE PUTTING ABOUT 1200 MILES ON THE CAR (FEB 2018). SINCE SEEING THIS WARNING MY CAR WILL SLAM ON THE BRAKES AT RANDOM (DURING HIGHWAY AND CITY DRIVING) AS IF IT DETECTED A VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME BUT THERE WAS NO VEHICLE PRESENT. I HAVE TAKEN THE CAR TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES AND HAVE GOTTEN NO SOLUTION. I HAVE ALSO CALLED HONDA NORTH AMERICA AND FILED A COMPLAINT AND STILL HAVE GOTTEN NOWHERE. WINDSHIELD WIPERS WOULDN'T WORK WHILE DRIVING IN RAIN ON HIGHWAY. PULLED OVER, WENT TO SERVICE STATION, THEY HAD ME TURN CAR OFF AND CHECKED SOME FUSES. THEN WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON ABOUT THE VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL, BRAKING AND VARIOUS SAFETY FEATURES. THIS MORNING WHEN I STARTED CAR AND BACKED OUT OF DRIVEWAY THE WIPERS STARTED WORKING BUT THE WARNING LIGHTS ARE STILL ON. TOOK IT TO DEALER THIS MORNING.
COLLISION MITIGATION BREAKING SYSTEM FAILS DURING OPERATION OF ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL. THE VEHICLE WILL NO LONGER VERIFY IF A COLLISION IS GOING TO HAPPEN, AND CAN CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO COLLIDE WITH A FORWARD VEHICLE.
TWO COMPUTER SCREEN ISSUES: COMPUTER SCREEN WOULD LIST SEVERAL WARNINGS (BRAKE SYSTEM, LANE DEPARTURE ,BLIND SPOT INDICATOR ,LIGHTS ALL SHOWN TO BE A PROBLEM. TRUNK & TURN SIGNALS, IPHONE CONNECTION WERE INOPERABLE.CAR WAS STATIONARY.
The contact owns a 2018 Honda Accord. The contact stated while driving 60 MPH with the cruise control activated, the vehicle abruptly stopped with unknown warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 45,000. The contact stated that at the time of the incident, the automatic braking system engaged by itself most likely due to the fact that a car was really close to the vehicle and possibly sensed danger.
Braking system engaged while driving, slamming on brakes for no reason within first 6 months of having purchased my 2018 Honda Accord EX. While driving the car on a normal highway with no cars in front of me, the car suddenly brakes and then the brake releases. The car came to a complete stop for no reason while driving around 55-60mph on the highway with no cars in front of me or to the sides. I couldn't get the brake pedal up off the floor of the car. After about 5 seconds, the brakes finally released, and I was able to drive again. Took car to Princeton, NJ Honda Service Department and they tried to readjust the front facing camera and the radar system. They said that it was misaligned or had been misaligned due to possible damage from a rock kicking up from road. Car was okay for about a week and then was slammed suddenly to hard brake in middle of road while driving again on highway, around 45mphs. Car was bought back to Honda dealership, and the service department solution to problem was to order a new front camera unit and replace the radar unit. New Camera Parts were on backorder, with over a 2 week wait for parts to deliver to dealership. Princeton Honda provided a loaner vehicle while awaiting parts and then repairs. Was without my new car for over 2 and half weeks. Have had no such issues with braking system since replacement and repair of a front camera and radar unit.

I WAS DRIVING VEHICLE ON THE INTERSTATE AT APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH WITH ACC AND LKAS ACTIVATED BUT BEING CLOSELY MONITORED AS THIS FEATURE IS NEW TO ME. AS THE TRAFFIC WAS SLOWING DOWN AHEAD THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER DISPLAYED "COLLISION MITIGATION BRAKING SYSTEM PROBLEM. SEE YOUR DEALER" ERROR MESSAGE. I HAD TO QUICKLY APPLY THE BRAKES TO AVOID A COLLISION WITH THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. IN THE PROCESS OF NOTIFYING DEALERSHIP TO SEEK OUT A SOLUTION. VERY WORRIED ABOUT THIS AS A SYSTEM DESIGNED TO PREVENT FRONT COLLISIONS ALMOST CAUSED ONE!
THE REAR BODY OF THE CAR STARTS TO RUST. IT'S JUST PURCHASED ABOUT 2 WEEKS. THE RUST DOTS ARE ALMOST EVERYWHERE ON THE REAR BODY. THEY APPEAR ON CEILING, ON DOORS, AND THE COVER OF TRUCK.
TRUNK WOULD NOT OPEN, BLINKERS AND WIPERS WOULD NOT WORK, ALL ON BOARD SENSORS (LANE DEPARTURE, BACKUP DETECTION, ETC.) WOULD NOT OPERATE. SEVERAL ERROR WARNINGS PRESENTED ON DASH IN REGARDS TO SAFETY SENSORS NOT WORKING. HAD TO STOP AT DEALERSHIP AND THEY RESET THE CAR COMPUTER. SAFETY ISSUE W/WIPERS AND BLINKERS NOT WORKING.
ON A HOT DAY WHILE SITTING STATIONARY IN MY CAR WITH AC RUNNING, I HEARD A 'POP' WITH A FIZZLE SOUND THEN SMOKE BEGAN TO RISE FROM THE FRONT OF THE DASH WHERE IT MEETS THE WINDSHIELD. THE VEHICLE STOPPED RUNNING [PUSH TO START], AND ALL LIGHTS FLASHED ON THE DASHBOARD. THE ALL SENSORS BEGAN TO EMIT ERROR MESSAGES. I TURNED OFF AND EXITED VEHICLE, POPPED THE HOOD AND SMOKE WAS ALSO COMING UP FROM OUTSIDE THE CAR. THE CAR WAS PURCHASED IN MARCH 2018, AND AT TIME OF INCIDENT HAD A LITTLE 6000 MILES. AFTER LETTING CAR SIT FOR A FEW HOURS IT STARTED UP, WITH ERROR MESSAGES ACROSS THE DISPLAY..I.E. TPMS, CHECK ENGINE, LKAS,ETC. I THEN HAD VEHICLE TOWED TO NEAREST HONDA DEALER, AND THE SERVICE PEOPLE WERE UNSURE WHY A MODULE IN THE DASH BURNT OUT; SO THEY CONTACTED HONDA CORP. LONG STORY SHORT THEY PLACED BLAME THAT A CHARGER FOUND IN THE BOTTOM OF MY GLOVE BOX CAUSED IT, WHICH WAS NEVER USED IN MY CAR. TO THIS DAY NO ONE CAN ANSWER ME WHY A SPONTANEOUS FIRE STARTED IN MY CAR WHILE SITTING STILL WITH AC RUNNING, BUT THEY REFUSED TO FIX MY CAR. THIS COULD HAVE BEEN A SERIOUS ISSUE IF THE CAR WAS BEING DRIVEN AT THE TIME OF THIS INCIDENT. PHOTOS SHOW POSSIBLE LEAKAGE ON THE WIRES, BUT NO ON WANTS TO ADMIT THAT THERE IS A BIG PROBLEM AT HAND.
THE FIRST NIGHT I TOOK OWNERSHIP OF CAR, THE ENGINE LIGHT BLINKED AND THE CAR LOST POWER, AND BECAME A BRICK. HAD TO TURN CAR THE OFF, START IT, AND BEGAN TO FUNCTION NORMALLY. CAR SHOWED 3 MISFIRE CODES ON MY SCANNER P0301, P0304, P0300. THIS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES, THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THE FIRST TIME NOTHING IS WRONG WITH THE CAR. THEY CHECKED THE COMPUTER AND IT SHOWS NOTHING HAPPENED. RELUCTANT TO TAKE THE CAR I WAS, BUT LIA BREWSTER HONDA WAS VERY FORCEFUL AND TOOK THE LOANER BACK. NOT EVEN TWO NIGHTS LATER THE CAR DID IT TWICE IN ONE DRIVE CYCLE. EVERY TIME THIS HAPPENS IN THE RAIN. LIA BREWSTER HONDA HAS MY CAR NOW FOR QUITE SOME TIME AND NO ONE CAN FIGURE OUT WHAT IS WRONG. I AM UPSET THAT THEY TOLD ME MY CAR WAS SAFE, I HAVE A 9 MONTH OLD DAUGHTER THAT IS THE WORLD TO ME. I EXPLAINED THIS AND STILL WAS NOT TAKEN INTO CONSIDERATION. MY CAR IS STILL THERE, AND NO SIGN OF BEING FIXED. ONLY PAID ONE PAYMENT ON THE CAR. THEY TOOK MY CAR DUE TO THE FACT I VIDEO TAPED THIS HAPPENING. WIFE WAS DRIVING ON INTERSTATE IN THE LEFT HAND LANE ABOUT 75 MPH WHEN A YELLOW LIGHT APPEARED ON THE DASH AND CAR LOST ENGINE POWER. WIFE IS UNSURE WHICH YELLOW LIGHT CAME ON DUE IT HAPPENING SO FAST. SHE COASTED ACROSS THREE LANES AND MADE IT TO THE SHOULDER. CAR WAS TOWED TO DEALER AND THEY CANNOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT. THERE IS 700 MILES ON THE CAR. DEALER SAID IT MAY HAVE BEEN ROAD DEBRIS THAT CAUSED COLLISION MITIGATION BRAKING SYSTEM TO TAKE CONTROL OF THE CAR BUT NOTHING WAS RECORDED IN THE EDR UNIT. VERY UNSAFE.

IF I WERE IN THE LEFT LANE PASSING A SEMI, I COULD VISUALIZE THIS A FATAL ACCIDENT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED, BUT DID NOT ASSIST. THE VEHICLE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 35,000. THE DOT NUMBER AND TIRE FAILURE MILEAGE WERE UNKNOWN.
