CLOCKSPRING FOR AIRBAG IS FAULTY.
95 HONDA CIVIC SEDAN 4 DOOR STALLS WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED ALSO IS GETTING HARDER TO START. ALSO STALLS WHEN NOT MOVING ALSO. YOU CAN DRIVE 10 FEET OR A FEW MILES DEPENDING UPON THE OUTSIDE TEMP. AND WEATHER CONDITIONS. WHEN THE CAR IS COLD IT WILL STALL AND YOU HAVE TO WEIGHT APPROX. 5-30MINUTES FOR IT TO RESTART. IF THE WEATHER IS HOT IT STALLS VERY QUICKLY AND TAKES APPROX. 3-4 HOURS TO RESTART. WE HAVE REPLACED THE FUEL PUMP, FUEL PUMP SCREEN, FUEL PUMP RELAY, FUEL INJECTOR RELAY, DISTRIBUTOR CAP, ROTOR, IGNITER AND CONDENSER AND IT STILL STALLS. WE HAVE TAKES IT TO TWO DIFFERENT MECHANICS TWICE AND THEY WERE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSIS THE PROBLEM. I SEEN THE RECALLS ON THE IGNITION SWITCH FOR THE 98 AND UP AND THIS IS WHAT IS HAPPENING TO MY CAR. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF HONDA AS A RECALL FOR THE 95 CIVIC ALSO OR CAN I ANTICIPATE ONE IN THE FUTURE. THIS PROBLEM STARTED IN JULY 2018 AND HAS BEEN GETTING WORSE.
THE AIRBAG IN THIS CAR DOES NOT WORK. I HAVE BEEN HIT TWICE, AND KNOW AS A FACT THE AIRBAG "DID-NOT DEPLOY" EITHER TIMES. MY SEAT-BELT ON THE DRIVERS SIDE IS WEARING AWAY FROM IT ROTTING AWAY, I PUT SOME WOOD GLUE ON THE BELT TO STOP ANY DETERIORATION ON THE BAG. I WAS ACCELERATING WHILE DRIVING AND MY CAR SUDDENLY SHUT OFF. I ONLY HAD POWER TO MY RADIO AND HEADLIGHTS. I HAD TO SWITCH ON MY HAZARDS, PUT MY CAR IN PARK. I TURNED IT OFF AND BACK ON AND IT STARTED RIGHT BACK UP- BUT HAD I OF BEEN ON THE FREEWAY I WOULD HAVE BEEN HIT. I HAD MY 2 YEAR OLD SON IN THE CAR WITH ME. I IMMEDIATELY TURNED AROUND TO GO HOME AND IT HAPPENED ONCE AGAIN ON THE WAY BACK (LUCKILY I TOOK SIDE STREETS HOME) TURNED OUT TO BE THE IGNITION SWITCH, BUT THE SHOP IS TELLING ME THE WHOLE THING NEEDS TO BE REPLACED.
I WAS STOPPED DUE TO A RED TRAFFIC LIGHT WHEN I NOTICED SMOKED COMING OUT BEHIND THE STEERING WHEEL, AT THE SAME TIME THE DASH LIGHTS WERE ALSO FLICKERING/ FLUCTUATING. I MANAGED TO PULL OVER QUICKLY TO A PARKING LOT AND SHUT OF THE ENGINE. I HAD IT TOWED TO A MECHANIC. THE DIAGNOSIS WAS A FAULTY ELECTRICAL IGNITION SWITCH. *TR
THE CAR WAS TRAVELING SOUTH BOUND ON INTERSTATE 680. UPON APPROACH TO THE MISSION BLVD EXIT THERE WAS WOOD PIECES / DEBRIS IN THE NUMBER 3 & 4 LANES. THE CAR ROLLED OVER ONE OR MORE OF THE AFOREMENTIONED WOOD PIECES AND SUSTAINED A FLAT TIRE ON THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE. AT THAT MOMENT BOTH FRONT AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. THE DRIVER WAS HIT BY THE AIRBAG. THE IMPACT WAS SEVERE ENOUGH TO PUSH HER INTO THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR CAUSING IT TO BECOME MISALIGNED. *TR
I NOTICED THAT MY LOW-BEAM HEADLIGHTS WERE NOT WORKING. HOWEVER, THE HIGH BEAMS AND PARKING LIGHTS WORKED. I ATTEMPTED TO REPLACE A BULB AND NOTICED THAT THE PLASTIC ELECTRICAL CONNECTION TO BOTH HEADLIGHTS HAD MELTED. *TR
I WAS GETTING READY TO PULL UP INTO A PARKING SPACE TO BACK INTO MY GARAGE WHEN THE CAR ACCELERATED TO A HIGH SPEED CAUSING ME TO CRASH INTO A BRICK WALL AND A NEIGHBORING GARAGE. MY NECK SNAPPED FORWARD AFTER THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED, I AM HAVING BACK AND NECK PAIN AFTER THIS INJURY. I AM GOING TO NEED MEDICAL ASSISTANCE. *TR

THE CONTACT SUSTAINED NECK, UPPER BODY INJURIES AND BRUISING TO THE FACE FROM THE AIR BAG WHICH REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNAVAILABLE.

THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 150,000.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH, THE DRIVER AND THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAGS INADVERTENTLY DEPLOYED AND CAUSED THE DRIVER TO CRASH INTO A DITCH. THERE WAS NO IMPACT TO THE VEHICLE. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE CONTACT SUFFERED FROM NECK INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE SUSTAINED SEVERE FRONT END DAMAGES AND WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 180,000.
DRIVER SIDE DOOR HINGE PLATE WELDS ON THE CHASSIS OF THE VEHICLE HAVE CRACKED CAUSING IT TO CLOSE IMPROPERLY.IT CAN CAUSE THE DOOR TO OPEN BY ITSELF IF THE HINGE PLATE COMPLETELY AND IT CAN CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 1995 HONDA CIVIC. THE CONTACT WAS TURNING AT AN UNKNOWN LOW SPEED WHEN THE VEHICLE ABNORMALLY ACCELERATED, RESULTING IN A CRASH. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AND NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED TO AN INSURANCE COMPANY SALVAGE LOT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT EXAMINED FOR THE CAUSE OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 27,000.
I HAVE A 95 HONDA CIVIC VX I PURCHASED NEW FROM THE LOCAL DEALER HERE IN AUSTIN TEXAS. FOR THE PAST COUPLE OF WEEKS MY CAR WOULD STALL OUT ON THE HIGHWAY AND A COUPLE OF TIMES AROUND TOWN FOR NO REASON AT ALL, BUT WOULD COME BACK ON A FEW SECONDS LATER. TODAY AS I WRITE THIS MESSAGE I AM WAITING FOR A TOW TRUCK TO COME GET ME AND MY HONDA CIVIC FROM THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. MY CAR FINALLY DIED OUT TODAY WITH THE SAME SYMPTOMS AS ABOVE BUT THIS TIME THE CAR WOULDN'T START AGAIN. I CAN GET THE CAR TO RUN IF I ONLY MANUALLY RELEASE THE IGNITION KEY A LITTLE BEFORE THE "ON" POSITION. IF I LET THE KEY GO ALL THE WAY BACK TO ON TO THE NORMAL "ON POSITION THE CAR WILL NOT START. I NOTICE THE DASH LIGHTS DON'T COME ON EITHER WHEN IN THE "ON" POSITION, BUT IF I WIGGLE THE KEY MANUALLY BACK AND FORTH FROM THE "ON" POSITION THE DASH LIGHT WILL COME ON. I'M GOING TO THE HONDA DEALER TOMORROW TO GET THEM TO PAY FOR MY TOW AND THE SWITCH. I PURCHASED 4 NEW NANKANG EX-500 TIRES FOR MY 1995 HONDA CIVIC EX IN OCTOBER 2005. THEY SEEMED TO BE IN NEAR PERFECT CONDITION UP UNTIL THE INCIDENT. NO BALDING OR WEARING WAS VISIBLE. ON 2-12-06 WHILE TRAVELING ON THE FREEWAY AT APPROX. 75 MPH, THE SIDEWALL ON THE RIGHT FRONT TIRE COMPLETELY SEPARATED FROM THE TIRE WITHOUT WARNING AND VERY ABRUPTLY, FORCING ME INTO THE LANE TO MY RIGHT AND NARROWLY MISSING A COLLISION WITH A VEHICLE IN THAT LANE. I WAS ABLE TO GET OVER TO THE SHOULDER TO CHANGE THE TIRE FOR A SPARE. I OBVIOUSLY HAD TO REPLACE THE TIRE, AND IN ADDITION, I WILL NEED TO ADJUST MY ALIGNMENT AS IT WAS SERIOUSLY COMPROMISED AS A RESULT OF THIS INCIDENT. *NM
I WAS DRIVING ON I-95 N IN NORTHERN VA AROUND MILE MARKER 145, AROUND NOON, WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN BOTH DRIVER AND PASSENGER AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. I WAS ON FLAT SMOOTH SURFACE ROAD AND DID NOT STRIKE ANY OBSTACLES IN THE ROADWAY. AFTER REGAINING CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE, I PULLED IT TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AVOIDING CONTACT WITH OTHER VEHICLES. I HAVE A CLAIM FILED WITH NORTH AMERICAN HONDA(VEHICLE-1995 HONDA DEL SOL VTEC). THE DEALERSHIP(POHANKA HONDA FREDERICKSBURG, VA), AT FIRST, SAID THAT THEY "DID NOT HAVE AN OPINION ON WHAT TRANSPIRED", BECAUSE "THIS MATTER IS TOO LEGALLY SENSITIVE." AFTER PUTTING PRESSURE ON NORTH AMERICAN HONDA, THEY HAD THE DEALERSHIP PUT THE CAR ON A LIFT FINALLY, AND TOOK PICTURES TO EMAIL THEIR CORPORATE OFFICE IN CALIFORNIA. THEIR CORPORATE OFFICE THEN CALLED ME AND STATED THAT THEY FELT IT WAS REASONABLE THAT THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED BECAUSE THEY FOUND SCRATCHES ON OIL PAN AND EXHAUST SYSTEM. THESE SCRATCHES ARE OBVIOUSLY OLD AND HAVE HEAVY RUST, AND THEY DEFINITELY SHOULDN'T HAVE CAUSED THE AIRBAGS TO HAVE DEPLOYED. HONDA HAS SAID THAT TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE THEY WOULD NEED TO REPLACE THE AIRBAG CONTROL MODULE IN ADDITION TO BOTH AIRBAGS, WHICH SEEMS ODD TO ME IF THEY WONT TELL ME WHAT'S WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. *JB
WHILE ACCELERATING AT LOW SPEED ACCELERATOR PEDAL STUCK TO THE FLOOR MAT TEMPORARILY. THIS CAUSED A MINOR COLLISION, OBJECT HIT GARAGE REAR WALL. DEALERSHIP WAS NOTIFIED, BUT DID NOT RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. *AK THE CONSUMER STATED THAT THE SIDE FLOOR MAT IS NOT SECURE AND SLID FORWARD JAMMING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. THE VEHICLE WAS MOVING AT A SPEED OF 2 TO 4 MPH. DUE TO THE MAT JAMMING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WHEN THE CONSUMER PUSHED ON THE BRAKE IT ONLY INCREASED ACCELERATION. *TC
WHILE THE AIR CONDITIONER WAS ON, WATER LEAKED THROUGH THE DASHBOARD. THIS CAUSED AN ELECTRICAL MALFUNCTION AND DAMAGED THE RADIO SHORTING OUT THE HEAD LAMPS AND OTHER PARTS TO THE VEHICLE. DEALERSHIP REPLACED SO MANY PARTS WITHIN A 5 YEAR PERIOD. CONSUMER WILL SEND INVOICES SHOWING THE COMPONENTS REPLACED. *AK
MALFUNCTION OF HOOD LATCH CAUSING SUDDEN "SLAMMING OPEN" OF HOOD AGAINST WINDSHIELD, LOSS OF VISION. *AK
THIS IS A NOTICE I SENT FIRESTONE CONSUMER AFFAIRS ON 9 OCT 2003 "IN APRIL 2002, I PURCHASED 4 BRIDGESTONE INSIGNIA TIRES FOR MY DAUGHTER'S CAR FROM THE RANDOLPH AIR FORCE BASE (AFB) SERVICE STATION IN UNIVERSAL CITY, TEXAS. DURING THE PAST 18 MONTHS, I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE 3 TIRES DUE TO DEFECTS. ONE TIRE FAILED WHILE SHE WAS DRIVING HOME FROM WORK. THE SECOND TIRE HAD TO BE REPLACED BECAUSE IS WAS "OUT OF ROUND". THE TIRE I JUST REPLACED HAD A BULGE ON THE OUTER SIDEWALL. IF MY DAUGHTER FAILED TO NOTICE THIS WHILE SHE WAS CHECKING THE TIRES, SHE COULD HAVE HAD ANOTHER BLOW OUT! I ORIGINALLY PURCHASED YOUR TIRES BECAUSE I THOUGHT I WAS BUYING A QUALITY PRODUCT. BASED UPON MY EXPERIENCE, THIS IS CERTAINLY NOT THE CASE. IN ADDITION TO THE SAFETY CONCERN, I HAVE HAD TO PAY FOR NEW TIRES (PRO-RATED COST), MOUNTING, BALANCING AND ROAD HAZARD. I WOULD THINK THAT AFTER THE DEATHS ASSOCIATED WITH THE FIRESTONE TIRE FAILURES, YOUR COMPANY WOULD PAY MORE ATTENTION TO MANUFACTURING A SAFE AND QUALITY PRODUCT THAT CUSTOMERS CAN RELY ON. I GUESS THIS IS OF NO CONCERN TO YOU. BE ASSURED, I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER ONE OF YOU PRODUCTS, AND I WILL MAKE SURE THAT ALL THE MY FRIENDS AND THE ARMY, AIR FORCE EXCHANGE SERVICE (AAFES), WHO SOLD AND INSTALLED THE TIRES, ARE AWARE OF MY EXPERIENCE. DRIVER'S DOOR HANDLE KNOB CRACKED. DEALER STATED THE NEED TO REPLACED ALL UNITS, AND IT WOULD COST $300. VEHICLE'S WARRANTY EXPIRED. *AK
PURCHASED 4 TIRES FROM GOODYEAR CALLED THE "CUB" IN MARCH. AT THE BEGINNING OF SEPT., THE TIRES ARE 6 MTHS OLD. INCIDENT #1: BEGINNING OF SEPTEMBER; TIRE#1 TREAD SPLIT APART. INCIDENT #2: TIRE #2 TREAD SPLITS APART. PER GOODYEAR'S REPLACEMENT POLICY, IF THE TIRE IS LESS THAN 25% WORN OR ONE YEAR OLD (WHICHEVER COMES FIRST) THE TIRE WILL BE REPLACED FREE OF CHARGE. BOTH TIRES WERE SIX MONTHS OLD WHEN THE TREAD SPLIT. THE SECOND TIRE SPLIT A FEW DAYS AFTER THE FIRST. THE FIRST TIRE WAS REPLACED, GOODYEAR CHARGING FOR BALANCING ONLY. WHEN WE TOOK THE SECOND TIRE IN, WE WERE TOLD THAT THESE TIRED HAD BEEN "DISCONTINUED" AND WOULD NO LONGER BE REPLACED FREE OF CHARGE. THEY WOULD, HOWEVER, BE HAPPY TO "UPGRADE" THE TIRES FOR AN ADDITIONAL CHARGE. WE WERE HANDLED DECEPTIVELY WITH THESE TIRES. WHAT WE WANT IS TO KNOW THAT WE WILL NOT BE PART OF THE STATISTICS OF FATALITIES WITH FAULTY TIRES SUCH AS WITH THE PREVIOUS GOODYEAR INCIDENTS. WE COMMUTE TO AND FROM SAN MARCOS OCASSIONALLY, AND WANT TO REST ASSURED THAT WE WILL SEE OUR LOVED ONES AT THE END OF THE DAY. WHAT WE ARE REQUESTING IS NOT UNREASONABLE. WE WOULD LIKE TIRES THAT ARE RELIABLE AND SAFE. WE PAID FOR THESE TIRES AND INSTALLATION IN MARCH OF 2003 AND EXPECT PRODUCTS AND SERVICES TO BE RENDERED AS PAID FOR. UPON CONTACTING CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE, ONLY IDENTIFYING HERSELF AS "MARY" BY HER CHOICE, SAID THAT IF WE WANTED TIRES THEY WOULD HAVE TO PRORATE THEM. NOTHING ELSE COULD BE DONE. TWO TIRES REMAIN ON OUR VEHICLE. IN EXPLAINING THE SITUATION, CONCERNED WITH OUR SAFETY, ASKING WHAT COULD BE DONE IN THE EVENT THAT WE HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM (WITH TREADS SPLITTING) OR WITH AN ACCIDENT WITH THE REMAINING TIRES, WHAT COULD BE DONE? CAR DIE WHILE DRIVING, IGNITION MODULE FAILURE. *NLM
ON MAY 24, 2003, I WAS DRIVING ALONG ON INTERSTATE 77 IN WEST VIRGINIA ON A SUNNY DAY IN MY 1995 HONDA DEL SOL WITH THE TOP OFF WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL ON AND OBEYING THE SPEED LIMIT. WITHIN SECONDS, SOMETHING HAPPENED TO. THE CAR SWERVED ACROSS THREE LANES OF TRAFFIC INTO THE BIRM AND BACK ACROSS THOSE LANES. THE LAST THING I REMEMBER IS SEEING IS THE HILLSIDE COMING AT ME. I CAN'T BE SURE WHAT HAPPENED, BUT IT FELT LIKE THE CRUISE CONTROL SPED UP THE CAR WHEN THE TIRE BLEW. I AWOKE IN THE HOSPITAL ABOUT TWO AND ONE HALF HOURS LATER. NOT ONLY HAD I BEEN UNCONSCIENTIOUS, I HAD AMNESIA. THEY HAD APPARENTLY FOUND ME ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, SPEAKING TO A PASSERBY. I WAS TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL BY AMUBLENCE. SOMEONE SAID THAT THE HORRIBLE PAIN IN MY CHEST WAS BECAUSE I HAD HIT THE STEERING WHEEL WITH MY CHEST. THAT, ALONG WITH THE LACERATION IN THE TOP-LEFT SIDE OF THE BACK OF MY HEAD WERE EVIDENCE THAT MY SEAT BELT HAD NOT LOCKED. THE AIR BAG FAILED TO INFLATE. I CONTACTED HONDA'S CUSTIOMER SERVICE AND COOPERATED FULLY WITH HONDA'S PRIVATE INVESTIGATOR. WHEN I CONTACTED HONDA FOR THE RESULTS OF THE INVESTIGATION, THEY REFUSED TO SPEAK TO ME. THEY SAID THAT THEY WOULD ONLY SPEAK TO MY ATTORNEY OR MY INSURANCE COMPANY. WHEN MY INSURANCE COMPANY CALLED, THEY REFUSED TO TALK TO THEM. WHEN I CALLED THEM BACK, THEY TOLD ME THAT THEIR COMPANY DIDN'T INVESTIGATE CRASHES. I TOLD THEM THAT THE COMPANY HAD SENT A PRIVATE INVESTIGATOR. LATER, SHE CALLED ME BACK AND TOLD ME THAT I COULD CONTACT THE PRIVATE INVESTIGATOR AND HE WOULD ANSWER MY QUESTIONS. THE P.I. TOLD ME THAT HONDA'S POSITION WAS THAT THE AIR BAG DIDN'T DEPLOY BECAUSE THE CAR DID NOT HIT HEAD ON. WHEN I ASKED HIM WHERE EXACTLY IT WOULD HAVE HAD TO BEEN HIT TO INFLATE, HE SAID HE DIDN'T KNOW. WHEN IASKED HIM TO GET THE INFORMATION FOR ME, HE SAID HE COULDN'T. WHEN I ASKED FOR A COPY OF HIS REPORT, HE REFUSED.
MY SON WAS REAR ENDED IN A 95 HONDA CIVIC BY A CAR GOING ABOUT 60 MPH. HE WAS THEN KNOCKED ACROSS AN INTERSECTION AND INTO A STONE WALL. BOTH DRIVERS SEATS BROKE AWAY FROM THE BASE AND AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THERE WERE TWO OTHER PASSENGERS. ONE BEING MY OTHER SON. THANK GOD THERE WAS ONLY SOME SORENESS AND BRUISES. *NLM
WHILE DRIVING THIS 95 HONDA CIVIC SI, ON 4 DIFFERENT OCCASIONS WHEN SIGNIFICANT IMPACT WAS MADE WITH MY CAR; THE AIRBAGS (FRONT DRIVERS AND PASSENGERS) DID NOT DEPLOY! ONE OCCASION WAS WHEN WE HIT A DEER HEAD ON. THE HOOD OF THE CAR WAS CRUMPLED IN, THE POOR DEER DIED, ONE HEADLIGHT WAS KNOCKED OUT. THE AIRBAGS DIDN'T DEPLOY. ON A SECOND OCCASION, DRIVING ON FREEWAY AT 65 MPH, MY SON SWERVED AND HIT THE SIDERAIL, THEN SWERVED ONTO THE MEDIAN OF THE ROAD. THE ENTIRE BACK/SIDE OF PASSENGERS SIDE WAS DESTROYED TO THE POINT THAT REPAIR WOULD BE MORE THAN VALUE OF CAR...METAL WAS LITERALLY RIPPED OUT AND PART OF THE BUMPER TORN OFF; YET NO AIRBAG DEPLOYED!! CAR WAS STILL DRIVABLE, MY SON TOOK IT OUT AND HAD AN ACCIDENT WHERE HE RAN INTO A BUILDING ADDING MORE DAMAGE TO THE DEER DAMAGE AT THE FRONT END OF THE CAR...NO AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT!!!!! AGAIN!!! AND THE LAST OCCASION THE POOR CAR WAS PARKED NEAR THE CAMPUS OF A UNIVERSITY, SOMEONE RAN INTO THE BACK END OF THE CAR, AT A SPEED OF 45ISH. THE BACK WAS SMASHED IN, AND CRUMPLED. BUMPER ,BACK DOOR ETC COMPLETELY TORN UP. THE CAR NOT SAFE TO DRIVE, GAS TANK ONLY ABLE TO HOLD 1 GALLON OF GAS AND FUMES NOW COMING INTO CAR BECAUSE OF DAMAGE...YET STILL NO AIRBAGS DEPLOYED!!! THIS LAST INCIDENT(THANK GOD) WAS THE ONLY TIME THAT NO ONE WAS IN THE CAR WHEN IT OCCURRED! WHAT IS WRONG WITH HONDAS AIRBAGS?? IS THIS PREVALENT WITH THE ACURA'S TOO? THE FLOOR MAT IN THE 1995 HONDA CIVIC CAN SOMETIMES MOVE AND ACTUALLY TOUCH THE TOP OF THE GAS PEDAL IN THE CAR. WHEN THIS OCCURS THE GAS PEDAL REMAINS DEPRESSED EVEN WHEN YOU LIFT YOUR FOOT OFF OF THE PEDAL. THE FLOOR MAT IS STIFF AND HARD AND DOESN'T STICK WELL TO THE FLOOR. THE FLOOR MATS I HAVE WERE FROM THE MANUFACTURER, THESE ARE NOT MATS THAT YOU BUY AT THE STORE.
HONDA CIVIC 1995 4 DOOR. INVOLVED IN A PASSENGER SIDE IMPACT ESTIMATED AT 45MPH BY THE POLICE. THIS IMPACT RESULTED IN BRAKING THE FRAME, BENDING THE ROOF DOUBLE, AND OTHERWISE TOTAL DESTRUCTION OF THE CAR. MY CAR WAS PARKED ON THE RIGHT HAD SIDE OF THE ROAD, FRONT WHEELS TURNED TOWARDS THE CURB. I TURNED ON THE IGNITION, PUT THE CAR INTO DRIVE AND IT ACCELERATED OUT OF CONTROL OVER THE SIDEWALK AND UP INTO A FRONT YARD, SLOWING DOWN OVER A BONSAI TREE. I SHIFTED THE GEARS INTO REVERSE AND THE CAR ACCELERATED BACKWARDS, STILL OUT OF CONTROL (BRAKES DIDN'T WORK) UNTIL IT CRASHED INTO A TREE ON THE SIDEWALK AND CAME TO A HALT. I HAD A PASSENGER AND 2 OTHER WITNESSES BUT HONDA SAY THEY CAN NOT "DUPLICATE" THE ACCELERATION PROBLEM. DT

ON THE 5TH OF MARCH 2001, I DROVE MY CAR WITH TWO CHILDREN( 8 AND 10 YEARS OLD) ON THE FREEWAY 57. I NEEDED TO TAKE FREEWAY 91 EAST SO I TRIED TO SLOW DOWN FROM 65 MPH TO 25 MPH ON THE FREEWAY 67 SOUTHBOUND. BUT I COULD NOT SLOW DOWN BECAUSE OF BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER MALFUNCTION. I BARELY STOPPED THE CAR BY USING SIDE BRAKE. MY FAMILY MIGHT BE KILLED IF I DID NOT USE SIDE BRAKE PROPERLY ON TIME. MY CAR WASI TOWED AWAY AND GOT FIXED AT WEIR CAYON HONDA DEALER.
