VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED AT A VERY HIGH SPEED BECAUSE OF THE GAS PEDAL GETTING STUCK TO THE FLOOR. CONSUMER HAD TO KEEP HITTING THE PEDAL UNTIL IT EVENTUALY RELEASED. DEALER HAS BEEN CONTACTED. *AK

ROTORS HAVE WARPED REPEATEDLY, I ONLY NOTICED DUE TO THE PULSATION WHEN I APPLIED THE BRAKES. SEEMS TO BE CONSISTENTLY HAPPENING EVERY 25,000 TO 30,000 MILES. I HAVE A CO-WORKER WHO BOUGHT THE SAME MAKE AND MODEL 30 DAYS BEFORE WE DID WHO IS EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEM. HE HAS HAD TO HAVE HIS TURNED 3 TIMES, AND FINALLY BOUGHT REPLACEMENT ROTORS AT 90,000 MILES. IF THIS IS NOT CAUGHT BY THE OWNER, OR DURING A ROUTING INSPECTION, THE BRAKE SYSTEM MAY FAIL TO FUNCTION PROPERLY, RESULTING IN CRASHES AND POSSIBLE FATALITIES.*AK
I OWN A 97 HONDA CIVIC LX 4DR AND HAVE BEEN IN 3 ACCIDENTS W/O AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT. IN 9/98 I WAS REAR-ENDED AT 40 MPH WHICH BENT THE FRAME OF MY CAR AND COST SEVERAL THOUSAND TO REPAIR. HONDA SERVICE SAID THAT THE AIRBAGS WOULD NOT DEPLOY UNLESS THERE WAS A SUDDEN DECEL AND/OR FRONTAL IMPACT. A FEW MOS LATER IN 01/99, I WAS IN AN ACCIDENT AND THE POLICE RPT STATES THAT I BROADSIDED A 81 CADILLAC ON THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE AT APPROX 35 MPH. THE FRONT END OF THE CADILLAC WAS DETROYED. I INJURED MY NECK, BACK, AND SHOULDER AS THE SEAT BELT DID NOT LOCK WHEN I FLEW FORWARD. AFTER THE ACCIDENT, I WENT TO HONDA CARS OF MESA FOR BODY REPAIR. IT COST SEVERAL THOUSAND $, W/ SIGNIFICANT FRONT END DAMAGE AND A BENT FRAME. MY AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY IN THIS ACCIDENT. I REQUESTED AN AIR BAG FCHECK AND MY FRIEND AND I WERE TOLD BY THE MGR OF SERVICE THAT THE AIR BAGS WERE OK AND THE SRS KNOWS WHEN TO DEPLOY THE AIRBAGS. HE SAID THAT THE COLLISION WAS NOT ENOUGH TO CAUSE THE AIRBAGS TO DEPLOY; HOWEVER, I HAD DIRECT FRONTAL IMPACT AT 35 MPH. MY CAR WAS ALSO BACKED OVER BY A GARBAGE TRUCK IN5/99 W/O AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT. IN 04/03, I BEGAN TO HAVE PROBS WITH THE SRS LIGHT COMING ON AND STAYING ON. THE LIGHT WAS STAYING ON UNTIL THE CAR WAS RESTARTED. WITHIN 2 WKS, MY SRS LIGHT STAYED ON. I TOOK MY CAR TO A HONDA CERTIFIED MECHANIC. HE SAID THE SRS UNIT WAS BAD AND THE CODE GIVEN WAS 7-2, 7-3 WHICH INDICATES A BAD UNIT AND REQUIRES REPLACEMENT. THE PART COST WAS $370. AND THE LABOR WAS $75. THE DAY AFTER THE REPAIR, THE SRS LIGHT CAME ON AND STAYED ON. WITHIN 2 MOS THE PART WENT BAD AND THE UNIT GAVE THE CODE 7-2, WHICH INDICATES REPLACEMENT W/O DIAGNOSTICS. HE FELT THE INITIAL PART MAY HAVE BEEN BAD AND REPLACED IT W/ HONDA'S PARTS WARRANTY, BUT IF IT HAPPENED AGAIN, THERE WAS ANOTHER CAUSE FOR THE MALFUNCTION.THE PROB HAPPENED THE DAY AFTER I LEFT THE SHOP AND THE LIGHT IS ON AGAIN DURING MOST TRIPS. MY MECHANIC STATED THAT THE DEALER WILL NEED TO CONTACT THEIR TAC.
DRIVER'S SIDE AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY AFTER A REAR END COLLISION AT APPROX. 55 MPH IMPACT. DEALER/MFR. HAVE NOT BEEN CONTACTED AT THIS TIME. *AK
GAS PEDAL STICKS AND AUTOMOBILE ACCELERATES. NO ACCIDENTS YET. *AK
WHILE DRIVING 30MPH TIRES WOULD JUST CHUG. LEFT FRONT TIRE WOULD EVENTUALLY GO FLAT. TOOK TO DEALER & HAD TIRES ROTATED. PROBLEM STILL EXISTS. *AK
BRAKES FAILED TO STOP CAR AS IT WAS COMING TO A HALT, ROLLING FORWARD AT ABOUT 2MPH. BRAKE PEDAL WAS FLOORED, TRANSMISSION SHIFTED INTO PARK, AND ENGINE TURNED OFF...STILL KEPT ROLLING FORWARD, AS IF BEING PUSHED. ONLY THING NOT TRIED WAS EMERGENCY BRAKE. ENDED UP HITTING CAR IN FRONT ON BOTH INCIDENTS. ROAD WAS DRY THE FIRST TIME, WET THE SECOND. CRUISE CONTROL NOT ON IN EITHER INCIDENT. HONDA MECHANIC COULD FIND NOTHING WRONG THAT WOULD CAUSE THIS.
ENGINE CHECK LIGHT CAME ON. VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED/REPAIRED BY DEALER. CONSUMER WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHY HE IS HAVING THIS PROBLEM WITH A NEW VEHICLE WITH LOW MILEAGE? THERE GOT TO BE A BETTER WAY . CAN SOMEONE DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS. *AK
CONSUMER WAS DRIVING IN THE RAIN, AND RAN IN TO BACK OF THE ANOTHER VEHICLE. UPON IMPACT, DRIVER'S AIRBAG DIDN'T DEPLOY. *AK
WAS TRAVELING 25MPH & REARENDED ANOTHER VEHICLE SITTING TOO FAR OUT IN THE LANE. LEFT FRONT END PUSHED BACKWARDS. DRIVER'S AIR BAG FAILED TO DEPLOY UPON IMPACT. SEAT BELT DID NOT RESTRAIN DRIVER WHOSE HEAD HIT THE WINDSHIELD. HAD CUTS TO FACE & LIPS FROM BROKEN WINDSHIELD. *AK
WEATHER STRIP, MOLDING DEFORMED.
WHEN DRIVING THE ENGINE CHECK LIGHT KEEPS COMING ON, AND CONSUMER HAD A FUSE REPLACED AND THE ENGINE CHECK LIGHT IS STILL COMING ON. *AK
MANUFACTURER SHOULD RECALL CARS WITH SIMILAR PROBLEMS.IMPROVE LOYALTY

WHILE MERGING INTO TRAFFIC, THE ACCELERATOR STUCK FLAT TO THE FLOOR CAUSING VEHICLE TO SUDDENLY ACCELERATE; THE BRAKES DID NOT RESPOND.
VEHICLE WAS EXPERIENCING CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATION, DEALER REPAIRED WIRING SYSTEM HOWEVER AFTER REPAIR THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO SURGE AS WELL, ADDITIONAL WIRING REPAIRS IN THE HARNESS COMPLETED, THE DEALERSHIP DID NOT DO WIRING REPAIRS PROPERLY AND HARNESS WAS BROKEN WITH SEVERAL OTHER PROBLEMS, VEHICLE CONTINUES TO EXPERIENCE PROBLEMS DUE TO DAMAGED WIRING HARNESS. *MJS
CONSUMER'S WIFE WAS DRIVING VEHICLE ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN SHE APPLIED THE BRAKES AND HEARD A THUMPING NOISE, AND THERE WERE NO BRAKES. SHE WAS ABLE TO USE THE HAND BRAKE TO SLOW VEHICLE DOWN AND GO OVER TO THE SIDE. VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED / REPAIRED AND REPLACED BRAKE BOOSTER. *AK

AFTER RIGHT FRONT IS RAISED A NOISE EMINATES FROM LEFT/REAR QUARTER AS IF IT'S POPPING BACK INTO PLACE DUE TO A WEAK SEAM OR WELD.
RECALL FAILURE (99E-015) WAS THE CAUSE OF VEHICLE ACCIDENT PRIOR TO RECEIVING NOTICE. *MJS

VEHICLE HAS CONSTANTLY PULLED TO THE LEFT SINCE PURCHASE REGARDLESS OF SPEED. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DIFFERENT DEALERSHIPS, ALIGNMENTS WERE DONE AND TIRES REPLACED. THIS DID NOT REMEDY THE PROBLEM.*AK
BOTH FRONT DISC WHEELS HAVE WARPED THREE TIMES IN 60,000 MILES. MY CAR HAS BEEN PRIMARILY A COMMUTER AUTO, TRAVELING ON THE HIGHWAY; THEREFORE, I SELDOM USE MY BRAKES FOR THE NUMBER OF MILES ON MY CAR. DEALER HAS FIXED MY BRAKES TWICE.
WHEN CAR COMES TO STOP SIGN OR LIGHT, IN IDEL/DRIVE, ENGINE SURGES. CAR HAS TO BE PUT IN NEUTRAL TO STOP SURGING. WHEN SHIFTED BACK TO DRIVE, CAR LEAPS FORWARD. GRACE HONDA HAS BEEN ASKED REPEATED OVER THE PAST TWO YEARS TO INVESTIGATE AND REPAIR. THEY RESPOND BY SAYING THEY CANNOT DEMONSTRATE CONDITION ON TEST DRIVE AND HAVE NEVER HEARD OF IT (STRANGE, AS YOU HAVE REPORTS ON YOUR COMPLAINTS SITE). THEY ARE DISMISSIVE OF MY CONCERNS THAT THIS IS AN UNSAFE DRIVING CONDITION. I AM CURRENTLY IN CORRESPONDENCE ABOUT THIS WITH A CUSTOMER SERVICE REP. IN TORRANCE.*AK
ENTIRE POWER STEERING SYSTEM FAILED DUE TO CONTAMINATED FLUID.
THE DESIGN AND CONTRUCTION DETAILS OF SEATS HAVE AND ARE CAUSING TRAUMA TO LOWER BACK AND HIP OF DRIVER AND FRONT SEAT PASSENGER.
WINDSHIELD DESIGN PROBLEM.
WINDOWS HAVE COME OFF TRACK, NOISY CLUTCH, BRAKES AND ENGINE. VEHICLE ALSO HAS A RATTLING AND BUZZING SOUND WHEN RUNNING.
WHILE EXITING A PARKING LOT IN AN ACCELERATING RIGHT-HAND TURN, VEHICLE WENT OVER A SMALL CURB AND BOTH AIR BAGS DEPLOYED, TEMPORARILY IMPAIRING THE DRIVER'S VISION AND KNOCKING HIS HANDS FROM STEERING WHEEL. VEHICLE LOST CONTROL, HIT CINCRETE CURB OF MEDIAN, BENDING RIMS OF THREE WHEELS AND FLATTENING THE TIRES. *AK
WHILE LOOKING UNDER THE HOOD, IT BENT IN HALF AND FELL WHILE DRIVER WAS UNDER IT. THE DEALER HAS BEEN NOTIFIED. *AK
CONSUMER'S PASSENGER'S SIDE SEAT BELT DOES NOT ACCOMODATE HER SIZE. THE DRIVER SIDE BELTS FIT HER JUST FINE. WHEN SHE RODE ON THE PASSENGER'S SIDE THE BELT WOULD TIGHTEN AS SHE MOVED IN THE SEAT, SHE HAS TRIED EVERY ANGLE. SHE CAN'T REACH OUT TO THE DASH OR TO THE FLOOR WITHOUT THE SEAT BELT TIGHTENING ON HER BODY. SHE HAD TO HAVE THE VEHICLE STOPPED DUE TO THE BELT TIGHTENING UP. THE BELT CAUSES HER TO LOSE HER BREATH DUE TO TIGHTNESS. *AK

A VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL RECALL (NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER : 99I002000) RELATED TO MY VEHICLE IS POSTED ON THE NHTSA WEBSITE. I HAVE THE SPECIFIC PROBLEM DESCRIBED IN THIS RECALL. HOWEVER, BOTH THE HONDA DEALER AND MANUFACTURER SAID THEY DID NOT FIND SUCH A RECALL ON MY VEHICLE AND REFUSES TO PAY FOR THE FIX. DUAL AIRBAGS DEPLOYED DURING FRONT END COLLISION. IMPACT FROM DRIVER'S SIDE AIRBAG CAUSED OPEN WOUNDS/BURNS FROM CHIN TO CHEST, FORCE OF PASSENGER'S AIRBAG SHATTERED FRONT WINDSHIELD, VEHICLE AT BODY SHOP, DRIVER HIT ANOTHER MOVING VEHICLE, WET WEATHER. *AK

EXPERIENCED REPETITIVE POWER SURGES WHILE ACCELERATING IN 1ST AND 2ND GEARS BETWEEN 2400 AND 4000 RPM.
REPEATED WARPING OF BRAKE ROTOR WITH SEVERE VIBRATION AT HIGHWAY SPEED WHENEVER BRAKES APPLIED. TURNING (RESURFACING) ROTOR ONLY SOLVES PROBLEM FOR 10,000 MILES. DEALER WOULDN'T COVER UNDER WARRANTY & INSISTS VIBRATION DOES NOT AFFECT SAFETY. I DO NOT BELIEVE THIS, AS STEERING WHEEL JERKS VIOLENTLY AT HIGHER SPEEDS.*AK
HEAD LIGHTS WILL NOT FOCUS PROPERLY, CAUSING POOR VISIBILITY.
LUG NUT WERE LOOSE AND FELL OFF RESULTING IN WHEEL COMING OFF OF AXLE CAUSING DAMAGE.
CONSUMER WAS DRIVING EAST AT APPROX 45 MPH, TRUCK JUMPED OUT IN FRONT, HIT HEAD ON OTHER VEHICLE SIDE, BUMPER WAS COMPLETELY PUSHED IN. AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY. DUE TO THIS DEFECT, CONSUMER HIT DASHBOARD WITH HEAD, HIT STEERING WHEEL WITH CHEST. SEAT BELTS WERE NOT WORKING AT TIME OF INCIDENT. *AK
WHILE DRIVING AT 40-50 MPH ON THE FREEWAY HAD DIRECT FRONTAL IMPACT WHERE THE DEFECTIVE DRIVER'S AND PASSENGER'S AIRBAGS SYSTEM DID NOT DEPLOY, AND DID NOT PROTECT THE OCCUPANT IN THIS ACCIDENT. MANUFACTURER SAID AIRBAG SENSOR IS MOVING BACK TOWARDS THE VEHICLE DUE TO EARLIER CIVIC MODEL HAVING INADVERTENT DEPLOYMENTS. *AK
WHILE DRIVING AT LOW SPEED, DRIVER STRUCK THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF HER AND MAY HAVE BEEN STRUCK FROM BEHIND. AIR BAG DEPLOYED, DRIVER SUSTAINED THERMAL 2ND DEGREE BURNS TO THE MEDIAL ASPECT OF BOTH HANDS, WRISTS/BICEPS AND CHIN. *AK
LOOSE LUGS CAUSED THE FRONT DRIVERS SIDE TIRE TO FLY OFF AND CAUSED SLIGHT INJURIES, DUE TO LOSS OF CONTROL. YH
CONSUMER STATES WHEN TAKING THE GAS CAP CAME OFF THE FUEL TANK FLAMES WERE COMING OUT THE TANK AROUND THE FILLER NECK. CONSUMER HAS CONTACTED THE DEALER, CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM IS UNKNOWN. *AK
