THE VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT WHILE THE CONSUMER WAS RIDING AS A PASSENGER. DURING THE ACCIDENT THE AIR BAG DEPLOYED AND RELEASED VIOLENTLY. AS A RESULT, THE PASSENGER SUFFERED SERIOUS INJURIES. *YH

WHILE DRIVING IN TRAFFIC VEHICLE CHOKED A COUPLE OF TIMES AND LOST POWER. WHEN CONSUMER COASTED INTO A GAS STATION AND TRIED TO RESTART VEHICLE, IT WOULD NOT START. CONSUMER HAD VEHICLE TOWED, AND MECHANIC TOLD HER THAT THAT THERE WAS SOMETHING WAS WRONG WITH IGNITION: COIL. *AK
WHILE DRIVING ENGIN CHECK LIGHT CAME ON, AND CONSUMER'S NOTICED A 50% DROP IN GAS MILEAGE. VEHICLE CHECKED BY DEALER, WHO DETERMINED OXYGEN SENSOR HAD FAILED. VEHICLE WILL NOT PASS STATE EMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS.*AK
HOOD BLEW OPEN WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH AND HIT FRONT WINDSHIELD. DEALER CONTACTED. FEEL FREE TO PROVIDE ANY FURTHER INFORMATION.*AK
CAR STALLS WHENEVER I SLOW DOWN TO STOP AT INTERECTIONS, STOPLIGHTS, STOPSIGNS. IT WILL RESTART IMMEDIATELY, BUT AT THE NEXT STOP, WILL FAIL AGAIN.*AK
WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH VEHICLE WAS HIT HEAD ON, AND NEITHER AIRBAG DEPLOYED. NO INJURIES, DAMAGE TO VEHICLE UNKNOWN.*AK
I WAS TRAVELING ABOUT 25 MPH AND WAS HIT HEAD-ON BY A DRIVER IN A FORD TAURS TRAVELING ABOUT 40 MPH IN THE WRONG LANE. BOTH AIR BAGS IN THE TARUS DEPLOYED AND MINE, IN THE 1999 HONDA CIVIC DID NOT DEPLOY. THE IMPACT OF THE CRASH HAS CAUSED INJURIES TO MY CHEST FROM THE SEATBELT WHICH PROBABLY COULD BE EXPECTED, AND SAVED MY LIFE; AND INJURIES TO MY NECK AND BACK FROM THE FORWARD THRUST CAUSED BY THE HEAD -ON IMPACT. BUT, THE AIR BAGS SHOULD HAVE DEPLOYED IN THE HONDA. IT IS UNREASONABLE TO THINK THEY WOULD NOT DEPLOY BASED ON THE DEGREE OF THE IMPACT . THE HONDA BODY SHOP MANAGER SAID THE OTHER CAR HIT THE HONDA ABOVE THE FRAME RAILS, WHICH IS WHY THEY DID NOT DEPLOY. IF THAT IS THE CASE, THE AIR BAGS WILL NOT DEPLOY IN MOST CRASHES THAT THIS VEHICLE IS INVOLVED IN. THIS IS A VEHICLE DESIGN DEFECT. I HAVE DIGITAL PICTURES OF THE DAMAGED HONDA . HAD CAR 4 MONTHS AND SRS LIGHT CAME ON, THEY WILL NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR WARRANTY. *AK
I OWN A 1999 HONDA CIVIC HX. I PURCHASED THE CAR LAST YEAR AND IT HAD 29,000 MILES. I TOOK IT FOR A TUNE UP RECENTLY AND THE MECHANIC TOLD ME THAT THERE WAS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE TRANSMISSION. MY CAR WAS SHIFTING FROM 1 TO 3RD GEAR AND MISSING 2ND GEAR. HE CONSULTED WITH A MECHANIC THAT HAS A TRANSMISSION SHOP NEXT DOOR AND HE TOLD ME THAT NO ONE WILL TOUCH THE TRANSMISSION THAT I HAD TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP. *AK I TOOK MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP TO GET A DIAGNOSTIC. I WAS TOLD THAT THE WHOLE TRANSMISSION NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AND THE COST WOULD BE AROUND $7,000.00. IT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE FOR ME TO SPEND THAT KIND OF MONEY ON A CAR THAT IS WORTH SLIGHTLY OVER THAT PRICE. THE WORST PART IS THAT THE TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN THE SAME SINCE I BOUGHT IT. SO THE PROBLEM WAS THERE BEFOREHAND AND NOW MY CAR IS NOT UNDER WARRANTY. I'M VERY UPSET ABOUT THIS WHOLE ORDEAL. I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE DEALING WITH THIS SITUATION. I'VE GONE ON DIFFERENT WEBSITES AND OTHER HONDA OWNERS ARE HAVING SIMILAR PROBLEMS WITH THEIR TRANSMISSIONS. I REALLY HOPE YOUR AGENCY INVESTIGATES THIS SITUATION ND LOOK INTO THIS PROBLEM. IF HONDA PRODUCED DEFECTIVE TRANSMISSIONS THEY SHOULD DO A RECALL. WHY SHOULD THE CONSUMERS HAVE TO PAY FOR A DEFECTIVE ITEM?

I FEEL IT IS THE RESPONSIBILTY OF THE MANUFACTORER TO REPLACE A FAULTY COMPONANT AT THEIR COST. NO SAFETY DEFECT MENTIONED. *AK

WAS TRAVELING 50MPH AND HAD REARENDED A COUGAR. UPON IMPACT WITH OTHER VEHICLE, BOTH AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. DRIVER SUFFERED SOME INJURIES, AND RECEIVED EMERGENCY ROOM TREATMENT.*AK
WHILE ROLLING DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW UP WITH AUTOMATIC BUTTON, WINDOW STOPPED APPROX 1/3 OF THE WAY FROM THE TOP AND WOULDN'T GO FARTHER; APPEARED JAMMED INTO THE RUBBER AROUND THE WINDOW. UPON EXAMINATION, FOUND TO BE THE WINDOW REGULATOR.*AK

VEHICLE WAS PARKED ON SHALLOW SLOPE (NEUTRAL GEAR), PARKING BRAKE DISENGAGED AND CAR ROLLED INTO TREE. ESTIMATED SPEED AT IMPACT AROUND 20MPH. NO OCCUPANTS IN VEHICLE DURING COLLISION. *AK
VEHICLE MAKES A LOUD ROARING SOUND, ACCOMPANIED BY SHAKING THAT IS STRONG ENOUGH TO VIBRATE THE STEERING WHEEL AND REARVIEW MIRROR WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP.
CONSUMER WAS TRAVELING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH ON I-75, THERE WAS CONSTRUCTION ON THE SIDE AND TRAFFIC WAS STOPPED OVER A HILL, CONSUMER DID NOT SEE STOPPED TRAFFIC AND REARENDED A VEHICLE, UPON IMPACT THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY, THE SEATBELTS FAILED CAUSING THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER TO HIT THE WINDSHIELD. *SLC

CONSUMER WAS TRAVELING ABOUT 35MPH ON A SIDE STREET, WHILE TURNING THERE WASN'T A CURB, BUT VEHICLE HIT A TREE AND IT FLIPPED OVER ONCE AN ITS TOP. THEN, SLID DOWN THE ROAD. UPON IMPACT, DUAL AIRBAGS DIDN'T DEPLOY. *AK
O HAVE MY BRAKES ADJUSTED. I HAVE ASKED STEVE, THE MANAGER, FOR A LIST OF THE TSB, BUT HE INSISTED I HAVE TO RETRIEVE IT MYSELF ON-LINE. ACCORDING TO THE LEMON LAWS, DEALER ARE ABLE TO PROVIDE THIS TO THEIR CUSTOMER, CORRECT? PLEASE RESEARCH THIS MATTER.*AK
CONSUMER WAS TRAVELING 60MPH ON HIGHWAY AND FELL ASLEEP AT WHEEL. VEHICLE HIT A GUARDRAIL, AND DUAL AIRBAGS DIDN'T GO OFF. DEALERSHIP WAS AWARE OF PROBLEM.*AK
I WAS DRIVING 40-42 MPH AND THE STEERING WHEEL MOVED TO THE LEFT. I TRIED TO CORRECT IT AND MY CAR SPUN OUT OF CONTROL HITTING A TELEPHONE POLE, A SIGN AND 2 CURBS. AFTERWARDS MY RIGHT REAR AXEL AND NOTICED IT LOOKED AS IF IT HAD BUCKLED AS SUCH.

WHILE DRIVING AT 55 MPH AND WHEN ATTEMPTING TO PROCEED ONTO THE INTERSTATE, CONSUMER'S VEHICLE WAS REARENDED WHICH CAUSED CONSUMER VEHICLE TO REAREND ANOTHER VEHICLE, CAUSING A FOUR CAR CRASH IN WHICH NEITHER DRIVER'S SIDE NOR PASSENGER'S SIDE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. CONSUMER WAS WEARING SAFETY BELT, BUT SUSTAINED HEAD INJURIES. CONSUMER HAS YET TO CONTACT THE DEALER. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY FURTHER DETAILS. *AK
WHILE DRIVING IN AN INTERSECTION DURING RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC, THE VEHICLE'S ENGINE CHECK LIGHT CAME ON, THE VEHICLE STARTED TO IDLE NEAR ZERO CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO STALL. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DEALER AND I WAS TOLD IT WAS THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER. MANUFACTURE WAS NOTIFIED AND THEY STATED IT WILL TAKE 3-6 MONTHS TO REPAIR BECAUSE HONDA MANUFACTURE HAS TO DEVELOP A PART IN JAPAN BECAUSE THE PART IS NOT AVAILABLE. WILL NOTIFY THE EPA OFFICE.
MY WIFE'S FIRESTONE TIRE BLEW ON HER 1999 HONDA CIVIC AND ALMOST CAUSED A MAJOR ACCIDENT ON I75. SHE IS LUCKY TO NOT HAVE BEEN INJURED. ALSO, HER SISTER'S FIRESTONE TIRE BLEW 1 YEAR LATER ON HER 1998 HONDA CIVIC WHILE DRIVING ON ANOTHER FLORIDA HIGHWAY. THE PROBABILITIES OF SUCH INCIDENTS HAPPENING TO ONE FAMILY MUST BE HIGH UNLESS THERE IS A DEFECT IN THESE FIRESTONE TIRES. LUCKILY NO ONE WAS INJURED BUT THAT IS PROBABLY BECAUSE THESE WERE NOT SUV'S. DATE OF INCIDENT IS ESTIMATED SINCE IT WAS A MINOR INCIDENT AND NO ONE WAS INJURED BUT IT SHOULD BE NOTED THAT THESE FIRESTONE TIRES MAY NOT BE SAFE. PLEASE ALSO NOTE THAT THE MAKE OF THESE TIRES ARE UNKNOWN SINCE THEY HAVE BEEN DISCARDED A LONG TIME AGO. *NLM

CONSUMER WAS DRIVING AT 55 MPH APPLIED BRAKES SUDDENLY TO AVOID ACCIDENT, BUT STILL VEHICLE DID NOT STOP IN TIME, AND ENDED UP HITTING VEHICLE THAT PULLED OUT IN FRONT UNEXPECTEDLY. UPON IMPACT, DUAL AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY, VEHICLE WAS TOTALED. *AK

HOOD PROP ROD BROKE. HAD SLAMMED DOWN & MISSED OWNER'S ARM. TOOK VEHICLE TO MECHANIC, AND WAS INFORMED THAT IT WAS DESIGNED TO BREAK & NOT DAMAGE HOOD. HOOD PROP WAS CRIMPED & COULD BREAK EASILY. HOOD PROP WAS REPLACED.*AK
CONSUMER WAS TRAVELING ABOUT 65MPH ON FREEWAY AND HEARD A LOUD BANGING NOISE. SHE ALMOST LOST CONTROL OF VEHICLE. THE RIGHT FRONT TIRE'S TREAD SEPARATED. TIRES WERE DUNLOP DB7C1199 . SHE CONTACTED DUNLOP, AND ATTENDANT TOLD HER THAT THEY WOULD PRO RATE HER TIRES. *AK IT WAS NOTICED THAT THE OTHER FRONT TIRE WAS BEGINNING TO SEPARATE ALSO. 2 DAYS LATER, THE RIGHT REAR TIRE EXPERIENCED A BLOWOUT, DUNLOP REPRESENTATIVE STATED THAT THE TIRES ONLY LAST 20000 TO 30000 MILES AND CONSUMER'S TIRES HAD 29784 MILES ON THEM. *SLC
WHILE DRIVING ABOUT 65 MPH TIRE ON THE REAR PASSENGER'S SIDE BUSTED. ON 9/11/00, DRIVER EXPERIENCED THE SAME PROBLEM WITH TIRE ON THE FRONT PASSENGER'S SIDE, HOWEVER THIS ONE DID NOT BLOWOUT WHILE DRIVING, RIGHT REAR TIRE BLEWOUT WHILE DRIVING ON 9/13. DUNLOP HAS BEEN CONTACTED ABOUT THE TIRES. DUNLOP WAS WILLING TO REPLACE THE TIRES AT HALF PRICE. *AK *SLC
