WHILE DRIVING IN SNOW DRIVER NOTICED ON MORE THAN ONE OCCASION THAT WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR. VEHICLE SLID ON ITS OWN, THEN STOPPED. FINALLY, THE VEHICLE STARTED, SLOWING DOWN AND COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP. DRIVER TOOK VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION, BUT MECHANIC COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. *AK
THE SHOULDER HARNESS SEPARATED FROM THE YOLK ON THE REAR OF THE CHILD SAFETY SEAT. THE OWNER UN-INSTALLED THE SAFETY SEAT AND RE-ATTACHED THE SHOULDER HARNESS TO THE YOLK. OWNER LATER RE-INSTALLED THE SEAT INTO THE VEHICLE ATTACHING THE SEAT BELT OF THE VEHICLE AND ATTACHING THE SEAT BELTS OF THE VEHICLE TO THE TETHER. CONSUMER PULLED ON THE ADJUSTING STRAP, BUT IT WAS TIGHT. PULLED ON THE HARNESS STRAP AGAIN AND IT CAME LOOSE IN CONSUMER HAND. IT HAD SOMEHOW BUNCHED TOGETHER AND CAME OFF OF THE YOKE BEHIND THE SEAT. *BF *NM
2004 HONDA CIVIC LX WITH OEM BRIDGESTONE POTENZA RE92 195-60R-15 TIRES. DEVELOPED SLOW LEAK, INVESTIGATION REVEALS SMALL HOLE ON THE INSIDE SIDEWALL. NO KNOWN ROAD HAZARD ENCOUNTERED. NOTE: YOUR WEBSITE WILL NOT ALLOW ME TO INPUT THE CORRECT TIRE SIZE. IT DEFAULTS TO THE 16" TIRE SIZE.*AK

CONSUMER WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH WHEN A CAR SUDDENLY PULLED RIGHT IN FRONT OF HER OUT OF A GAS STATION. THE CONSUMER THEN APPLIED BRAKES BUT THE VEHICLE DID NOT STOP IN TIME. THE CONSUMER REAR ENDED THE VEHICLE. THE CONSUMERS AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY AT ALL. THE CAUSE OF WHY IT DID NOT DEPLOY WAS UNDETERMINED. *JB
DRIVER'S SEAT BEGAN TO MOVE WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE. TOOK CAR TO DEALER WHO REPORTED SEAT BUSHING ARE WORN ALREADY. CAR HAS ONLY BEEN DRIVEN 10K KM ( 6K MILES). PARTS ARE BACK ORDERED SO SEAT IS STILL LOOSE. A POTENTIAL PROBLEM IF INVOVLED IN COLLISION BEFORE SEAT IS REPAIRED. HONDA ISSUED SB624365 BACK IN JULY 2001 FOR A SIMILIAR COMPLAINT, AS YET NO SB FOR 2004 MODEL YEAR ISSUED.*AK
ERRATIC TRANSMISSION SHIFTING. POSSIBLE LOCK-UP CONCERN. ALSO, WHILE DRIVING I HEARD A POP WHILE SHIFTING(AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION). LEFT FRONT SQUEAKING,CLUNKING SOUND.SUSPENSION?STRUT?BUSHING? WAS TAKEN TO HONDA DEALER IN MARYLAND AND LEFT FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS ON TWO OCASSIONS AND SOUND WAS DUPLICATED WITH A TECHNICIAN ON BOARD, BUT WHEN I WENT TO PICK UP THE VEHICLE I WAS TOLD THAT SINCE IT COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED AGAIN IN THE SHOP, NOTHING WAS DONE.
THE SPEEDOMETER LOCKED AT 40 MPH, IT WILL NOT MOVE TO LET THE CONSUMER KNOW WHAT SPEED SHE WAS GOING. THE MANUFACTURER OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE AT THIS TIME. *JB *NM
WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH BOTH FRONTAL AIR BAGS INADVERTENTLY DEPLOYED. THIS CAUSED THE DRIVER TO SUSTAIN MINOR INJURIES , AND WAS TRANSPORTED TO A HOSPITAL. VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THE CAUSE HAD NOT BEEN DETERMINED AT THIS TIME. *AK
2004 HONDA CIVIC SI - CAR CAUGHT ON FIRE. FIRE STARTED IN ENGINE COMPARTMENT WHILE DRIVING. CAR ENGULFED IN FLAMES. CAR DECLARED A TOTAL LOSS BY INSURANCE COMPANY.*AK
INFO COPY TO NHTSA OWNER OF 2004 HONDA CIVIC ENGINE COMPARTMENT CAUGHT FIRE VEHICLE DESTROYED. *BF THE CONSUMER NOTICED A SMELL COMING THROUGH THE AIR VENTS OF THE VEHICLE. SECONDS LATER SMOKE STARTED COMING THROUGH THE VENTS AS WELL AS RISING FROM UNDER THE HOOD. FLAMES CAME FROM UNDER THE HOOD AND THE ENTIRE FRONT END WAS ENGULFED IN FLAMES. THE VEHICLE WAS ONLY 3 MONTHS OLD AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT. *TC *JB
TRANSMISSION SLIPPAGE SOUND, REQUIRES TRANSMISSION CHANGES EVERY 3,000 MILES AND THIS STILL DOESN'T COMPLETELY ELIMINATE THE SOUND. HONDA WON'T DO ANYTHING TO ACTUALLY FIX THE PROBLEM FOR GOOD. *TR

I WAS IN AN ACCIDENT ON NOV 19TH, 2004. DRIVER SIDE AIRBAG WAS NOT DEPLOYED AT THE TIME OF ACCIDENT. THERE WAS NO PASSENGER IN MY CAR, BUT PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG DEPLOYED. I CALLED HONDA SEVERAL TIMES. THEY DO NOT LIKE TO DISCUSS THIS ISSUE WITH ME. HONDA IS ASKING FOR A STATEMENT FROM GEICO, INSURANCE COMPANY. GEICO IS SAYING THIS IS AN ISSUE OF CAR MANUFACTURER. GEICO PROVIDED ME PHOTO SHOWING PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG DEPLOYED. HONDA DOES NOT WANT ME TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I LEASED IT. I DON'T FEEL SAFE TO DRIVE THIS VEHICLE. TODAY, JAN 24TH 2005, I SPOKE WITH MR. ARMEN YERZATIAN @ 800-999-1009 X118141. HE IS A SUPERVISOR @ CUSTOMER SERVICE. HE TOLD ME THERE IS NOTHING HE OR HONDA CAN DO IF THEY DON'T RECEIVE A STATEMENT FROM INSURANCE COMPANY, GEICO. *NM
THE CONSUMER WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT,THE DRIVER SIDE AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY, BUT THE PASSENGER AIR BAG DEPLOYED AND THE SEAT BROKE FROM THE BASE. *JB
MY FIANCE HAS BEEN INVOLVED IN TWO REAR-END COLLISIONS, BOTH IN HONDA CIVICS, OVER THE LAST YEAR (THE LAST ACCIDENT HAPPENED ON 11/12/04), AND IN BOTH CASES, THE DRIVER'S SEAT BACK BROKE SO THAT SHE WAS THROWN BACK AT A GREATER ANGLE THAN ONE WOULD HAVE EXPECTED. THE FIRST ACCIDENT REQUIRED HER TO HAVE A PAINFUL BACK OPERATION, WITH VARIOUS VERTEBRATES BEING FUSED. THIS CANNOT BE A COINCIDENT THAT HER SEAT BACK BROKE ON BOTH OCCASIONS.*AK
STRESS CRACK ON WINDSHIELD BEGINNING AT VERY BOTTOM OF WINDOW ON PASSENGERS SIDE AND RUNNING THE FULL LENGTH OF WINDOW. THIS CRACK OCCURRED 6 MONTHS AFTER BUYING THE CAR NEW. THE EXACT SAME CRACK OCCURRED AGAIN IN OCT., 2005. THE EXACT SAME CRACK HAS OCCURRED NOV. 2006*JB
I WAS DRIVING IN A PARKING LOT AT A LOW SPEED, STOPPED TO TURN IN PARKING SPACE WITH FOOT ON BRAKE, CAR STARTED TO ACCELERATE, PUSHED ON BRAKES THEY WOULD NOT WORK AND CAR JUMPED CURB, AND HIT POST OFFICE BUILDING. CAR DIED IMMEDIATELY, BUT WHEN TURNED CAR BACK ON EVERYTHING SEEMED NORMAL.*AK
MY HUSBAND GOT INTO A CAR ACCIDENT ON SEPTEMBER 24TH 2004 IN OUR 2004 HONDA CIVIC DX, HE WAS REAR ENDED AND HIS SEAT BROKE AND TURNED 30 DEGREES TOWARDS THE PASSENGERS SEAT AND NOW HE HAS EXTENSIVE INJURUES TO HIS BACK, AND IS UNDERGOING EXTENSIVE MEDICAL TREATMENT AND THERAPY.*AK
THERE IS A RECURRING POPPING NOISE COMING FROM THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE, WHICH IS CAUSING THE STEERING TO FEEL LOOSE. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER FOR CHECK UP AND REPAIR OF THE STRUTS FOR THE THIRD TIME.*AK
THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD SHIMMY WHEN BRAKING FROM 40-60 MPH. THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED. DEALER INFORMED THAT THEY WERE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM CONCERNING THE FRONT ROTORS. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY FURTHER INFORMATION. *JB
WHILE DRIVING BETWEEN 35-40 MPH CONSUMER WAS DRIVING AND THE VEHICLE FAILED. IT WAS DECELERATING. CONSUMER CALLED THE DEALER, AND THEY TOWED THE VEHICLE, AND ARRANGED FOR THE CONSUMER TO GET A RENTAL CAR. MEANWHILE, DEALER WAS NOT ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM, AND INSISTED THAT CONSUMER KEEP THE VEHICLE. CONSUMER WAS VERY DISSATISFIED. *AK
PURCHASED 2004 CIVIC VP NEW (THIS IS MY 4TH HONDA CIVIC). FROM DAY 1, THERE HAS BEEN A NOTICEABLE VIBRATION/SHIMMY IN STEERING WHEEL AND FRONT END. UPON VISIT TO DEALER, I WAS TOLD THAT THE VIBRATION/SHIMMY COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED, BUT OEM TIRES (DUNLOP SP20) COULD BE SEPARATING. DURING A SUBSEQUENT VISIT, VIBRATION/SHIMMY WAS ACKNOWLEDGED. DUNLOP DEALER SAID THAT THE TIRES ARE OKAY, BUT 2 FRONT WHEELS WERE BENT. HONDA DEALER REPLACED 2 FRONT WHEELS AND REMOUNTED/REBALANCED THE ORIGINAL TIRES. ALL TIRES WERE REBALANCED AND ROTATED. VIBRATION/SHIMMY PERSISTS AND CONTINUES TO BE NOTICEABLE AT ALL SPEEDS. STEERING WHEEL VIBRATION/SHIMMY IS OBSERVABLE AND FELT WHEN TURNING THE WHEEL, REGARDLESS OF VEHICLE SPEED. DEALER SUGGESTED TEST DRIVE OF IDENTICAL 2004 CIVIC VP; I, AND THE DEALER SERVICE MANAGER, NOTICED THE SAME ISSUES WITH THIS CIVIC. PROBLEM REMAINS UNRESOLVED.*AK
WHILE DRIVING ACCELERATOR PEDAL BECAME STUCK, AND VEHICLE SMASHED INTO A FENCE AFTER PLACING IT PARK. THE AIR BAG STRUCK CONSUMER IN THE FACE. *AK AS THE CONSUMER LOOKED DOWN AT THE INSTRUMENT PANEL, ALL OF THE DIALS WERE AT ZERO. (NO GAS, NO SPEED, NO HOT/COLD INDICATOR) THE CONSUMER PARKED THE VEHICLE, RESTARTED IT AND EVERYTHING WAS BACK TO NORMAL. THE CONSUMER SAID THAT SHE WAS MAKING A LEFT HAND TURN, THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN, SHE WAS ON A SIDEWALK, PULLED INTO THE ROAD AND WAS ACROSS IN THE NEXT INTERSECTION HEADING FOR THE DRAINAGE BASIN. THE CONSUMER WAS UNABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE. *SC
THE REAR PASSENGER SEAT BELT UNLATCHED BY IT SELF AUTOMATICALLY. WHILE DRIVING THE CONSUMER COULD HEAR A NOISE. *JB THE SEAT BELTS WOULD NOT STAY LATCHED. *SC *JB
PROBLEMS WITH MAIN REAR CRANK SHAFT SEAL ON 2004 HONDA CIVIC. *MR *SC *JB
SINCE I BOUGHT THIS CAR ALL I HAVE HAD WERE PROBLEMS. THE 1ST PROBLEM WAS THAT THE ODOMETER WAS GOING MORE MILES THAN I WAS DRIVING. SOMETIMES IT WAS EVEN RIGHT ON THE DOT. I TESTED IT AGAINST MY 00 CIVIC AND 3 OTHER CARS. MY CIVIC WAS CONSISTENTLY OFF ON TRIPS OVER 20 MILES. THE FIRST DEALER COULD NOT DUPLICATE IT JUST DRIVING AROUND THE BLOCK. I TOOK IT THERE 4 TIMES WITHIN THE FIRST COUPLE OF MONTHS. I ALSO HAD TO GET AN OIL CHANGE EVERY 3.5 WEEKS BECAUSE I HAD GONE 5000 MILES SUPPOSEDLY. THE LAST TIME IT WAS AT THAT DEALER THERE WAS A NEW SERVICE MANAGER WHO'S EXCUSE FOR WHAT WAS WRONG WITH IT WAS THAT I HAD SOMEHOW SWITCHED IT FROM MI TO KM AND THAT I NEEDED TO GET OUT THE MANUAL AND FIGURE OUT HOW TO FIX IT. DURING THIS TIME I HAD WRITTEN HONDA CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEY HAD ALL KINDS OF DIFFERENT IDEAS WHAT WAS WRONG WITH IT AND HOW IT WAS MY FAULT, NOT AN ACTUAL PROBLEM. THE NEXT WEEK I TOOK IT TO ANOTHER DEALER WHO RIGHT AWAY FOUND THERE WAS A PROBLEM. WHEN THEY CALLED HONDA TO FIGURE OUT WHAT TO DO SINCE THEY HAD NEVER SEEN THIS THEY WERE TOLD NOT TO DO ANYTHING. THEY ADVISED I COME BACK AND MEET WITH THE HONDA REP. I DID AND THEY TRIED RUNNING TESTS, CHECKING TIRE PRESSURE AND EVERYTHING CAME UP OK. SOMEONE HAD MENTIONED IT COULD BE AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM. AS TIME WENT ON OTHER THINGS STOPPED WORKING RIGHT IN THE CAR. THE INTERIOR LIGHTS BUZZED WHEN THEY WERE ON. THE CAR HAS HAD TROUBLE STARTING, TEMPERATURE DID NOT AFFECT IT. TURNING THE HEAT AND A/C KNOB WILL CHANGE THE STATION ON THE RADIO. THE CIGARETTE LIGHTER WILL STOP WORKING FOR 5 MINUTES THEN COME BACK ON. MORE RECENTLY I'VE BEEN HAVING TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS(AUTO). THE CAR WON'T SHIFT, REVS HIGH, THE JOLTS AND W/CRUISE SET IT JUST ACCELERATES FOR NO REASON. I WILL NOT BUY ANOTHER HONDA. *NM
WHEN DRIVING AT LOW SPEEDS VEHICLE SURGED FORWARD. THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED , BRAKES FAILED AND VEHICLE HIT BRICK WALL HEAD ON. UPON IMPACT, BOTH FRONTAL AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. CONSUMER HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. *AK *TC
WHILE PARKED, THE VEHICLE'S TRUNK CAUGHT FIRE WITHOUT WARNING. *JB IT WAS LATER DETERMINED THAT THE BATTERIES ELECTRICAL WIRING AND CABLES ARC CAUSING THE FIRE. *NM
BRAKE PEDAL TRAVELS SEVERAL INCHES PRIOR TO BRAKES ENGAING. CAR WAS DELIVERED LIKE THIS FROM DEALER WHO SAID THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE BRAKES. *NM
I RECENTLY BOUGHT A 2004 HONDA CIVIC LX IN CALIFORNIA. THE NIGHT I DROVE HOME AND PULLED OVER, I HEARD A NOISE COMING FROM THE FRONT OF THE CAR. I OPENED THE HOOD AND REALIZED THE NOISE HAS BEEN COMING FROM THE BELTS. I TOOK MY CAR BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE I BOUGHT THE CAR AND THEY TURNED ME AWAY AND SAID THE PARTS ARE PROBABLY TOO NEW AND THEY NEED SOME TIME TO 'BREAK IN'. THE MILEAGE ON MY CAR JUST OVER 1000 MILES AND I AM VERY CONCERNED OF THAT NOISE IF IT WILL CAUSE ANY MAJOR CONSEQUENCES. PLEASE ADVISE. *JB
PROBLEMS WITH AN OPAQUE FILM THAT DEVELOPED ON THE WINDOWS WHILE DRIVING. *MR (INSIDE OF THE WINDOWS) THE PROBLEM WAS SUGGESTED TO BE THE RESULT OF POLYMER VAPORS OUT GASSING FROM THE PLASTICS USED FOR THE VEHICLES INTERIOR. THIS FILM WOULD OBSTRUCT THE CONSUMER VISION ALMOST COMPLETELY BLINDING THE CONSUMER AT NIGHT OR DURING SUNLIGHT. HONDA SUGGESTED THAT THIS WAS NORMAL AND THERE IS NOTHING THEY COULD DO TO REMEDY THIS PROBLEM. THERE WAS ALSO A CLUNKING NOISE WHEN THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED WHILE GOING OVER BUMPS. *SC *JB
WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE VEHICLE VIBRATED UNCONTROLLABLY. THE DRIVER WAS ABLE TO MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND DROVE IT TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THE MECHANIC INFORMED THE DRIVER THAT THE BRAKES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED DUE TO WORN PARTS. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY ADDITIONAL INFORMATION. *NM
THE ADVERTISED MPG OF MY HONDA HYBRID FOR CITY DRIVING IS 48 MPG. I HAVE NEVER GOTTEN BETTER THAN 38 MPG. HONDA SAYS THERE'S NOTHING THEY CAN DO ABOUT IT AND JUST ADVERTISING THAT IT WILL GET 48 MPG DOESN'T MEAN IT WILL GET THAT ACTUAL MILEAGE. I BELIEVE IT SHOULD AT LEAST BE CLOSE, NOT 20% LESS THAN ADVERTISED. I PAID EXTRA TO BUY A HYBRID AUTOMOBILE THAT IS SUPPOSED TO PERFORM MUCH BETTER THAN IT DOES. FALSE OR MISLEADING ADVERTISING FOR ANY CONSUMER PUCHASE SHOULD NOT BE PERMITTED, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT IS A MAJOR PURCHASE FOR AN AVERAGE CONSUMER TO MAKE.*AK
THE FRONT STRUTS OF MY VEHICLE ARE LEAKING DUE TO PREMATURE FAILURE, WHICH MAKES THE VEHICLE DIFFICULT TO CONTROL WHEN A BUMP OR SLIGHT DING IN THE ROAD IS TRAVELED OVER. WILL GET THE STRUTS REPLACED, SO THAT MY VEHICLE DOESN'T FALL APART, BUT IT'S GOING TO BE VERY . *LA
PURCHASED NEW 2004 HONDA CIVIC EX 2DR COUPE - SURGES FORWARD AND JOLTS YOU AT LOW SPEED (WHILE SLOWING DOWN). HAPPENS MOSTLY WHEN DESCENDING DOWN HILLS. VERY EXTREME IF UNDER THE LOAD OF THE AC. THE JOLT IS VERY DISTRACTING AND SCARY. DEALERSHIP CLAIMS IT IS NORMAL AND PART OF THE GRADE LOGIC.*AK
WHILE DRIVING AT 20 MPH AND CROSSING A STOP LIGHT THE CONSUMER WAS T-BONED ON THE DRIVERS SIDE BY ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE SIDE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE CONSUMER SUFFERED BACK INJURIES.*MR
HAVE HAD A VIBRATION AND PULLING IN STEERING WHEEL SINCE PURCHACE OF 2004 HONDA CIVIC VP. TOOK INTO DEALER AT 2000 MILES AND THEY COULD NOT FIND VIBRATION. AT 3100 MILES TOOK TO DIFFERENT DEALER THEY FOUND VIBRATION AND PULLING. DID FRONT END ALIGNMENT AND BALANCE TIRES. STATED IF CONTINUES, THEN POSSIBLE TIRE DEFECT. AT 4000 MILES AGAIN TOOK TO ORIGINAL DEALERSHIP, THEY DID FRONT END ALIGNMENT AGAIN, BUT STATED IT IS A PROBLEM WITH A TIRE AND SINCE THEY ARE NOT A DUNLOP RETAILER COULD NOT REPLACE. WENT TO SEARS AND THEY STATE SINCE TIRE WAS NOT SOLD BY THEM AND ARE ORIGINAL TIRES ON CAR AT TIME OF SALE, THEY COULD ONLY DO A COMPARABLE TREAD TIRE. THE TIRE IS A DUNLOP SP20FE.
MY DAUGHTER WAS IN OUR 2004 HONDA CIVIC LX. SHE HAD A VIRTUALLY HEAD ON COLLISION WITH MUCH FRONT END DAMAGE. NONE OF THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. *JB
THE SIDEWALL OF MY DUNLOP ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT TIRE ON A 2004 HONDA CIVIC WITH 7,895 MILES BLEW OUT WHILE DRIVING AT LOW SPEED. LUCKY NO ACCIDENT OCCURED. CAR WAS BEING DRIVEN ON A TRIP AWAY FROM HOME. THE GOODYEAR AUTO SERVICE CENTER REFUSED TO HONOR THE WARRANTY. THE TIRE MODEL WAS SP20FE P185/70R14.*AK

FROM THE DAY THAT CONSUMER BOUGHT THE VEHICLE THERE HAS BEEN AN ANNOYING VIBRATION IN THE STEERING WHEEL. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, WHO INFORMED THE CONSUMER THAT THE VIBRATION WAS NORMAL. *AK
WHILE DRIVING 65M PH IN 3RD LANE OF A 4 LANE HIGHWAY. TAPPED BRAKES TO REDUCE SPEED SLIGHTLY, BOTH WHEELS ON RIGHT SIDE OF CAR LOCKED UP, SENDING CAR INTO A FISH TAIL THROUGH BOTH LANES ON EITHER SIDE OF THE CAR, SPUN AND HIT THE CENTER GUARD RAIL OF THE HIGHWAY FACING BACK UP THE DIRECTION I CAME FROM. SIDE AND FRONT AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY ON PASSENGAR SIDE WHERE THE MOST SERVE IMPACT OCCURRED. THE ACCIDENT CAUSED $13,000 OF DAMAGE INCLUDING SEVERE FRAME DAMAGE. HONDA REFUSED TO INSPECT THE BRAKES AFTER THE ACCIDENT, INSTEAD CLAIMED THAT THE BRAKE DAMAGE WAS CAUSED BY THE ACCIDENT, NOT THE CAUSE OF THE ACCIDENT. TALKING PRIVATELY WITH A HONDA CERTIFIED MECHANIC, I WAS ABLE TO GET THE ERROR CODES ON THE COMPUTER: INLET CYLINOID FAILURE (31.1 & 35.1) & PASSENGER SIDE FRONT AIR BAG CENSOR FAILURE (9.9.7). HONDA REFUSED TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT THIS, AND I SOLD THE CAR AS I FELT UNSAFE DRIVING IT. THE CAR WAS STILL ON WARRANTY. *AK
PROBLEMS WITH TRANSMISSION AND TIE ROD BOLTS WERE LOOSE.*MR THE CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER BECAUSE THERE WAS A NOISE IN THE PASSENGER FRONT WHEEL AND THE GEARS WERE GRINDING WHEN MOVING FORM SECOND TO THIRD GEAR. THE TECHNICIAN TOLD THE CONSUMER THAT THE VEHICLE'S TIRES WERE BALD THEREFORE SHE WAS RACING THE CAR. HE WENT ON TO SAY THAT HE WOULD NOT CHECK THE TRANSMISSION UNLESS SHE AGREED TO PAY FOR IT. THE CONSUMER APPEALED THE DECISION OF THE DEALER AND CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER. THE STRUTS WERE LOOSE ON THE RIGHT SIDE. THE TIE ROD BOLTS WERE LOOSE WHICH WAS PROBABLY THE CAUSE OF THE BALD TIRES. THE MANUFACTURER REFUSED TO HONOR THE WARRANTY FOR THE TRANSMISSION ALTHOUGH THE VEHICLE WAS ONLY SIX MONTHS OLD. *NM
RUN A WAY HONDA 2004 HYBRID CVT. *MR WHILE THE VEHICLE'S ENGINE WAS IN ECONOMY MODE THE CONSUMER TOOK HIS FOOT OF THE BRAKE TO MANEUVER A TURN WHEN THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED. AS A RESULT THE, THE CONSUMER SLID ON A SANDY PARKING LOT WHICH KNOCKED OFF ONE OF THE REAR VIEW MIRRORS AND CAUSED DAMAGE TO THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE. *NM THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. ON SOME OCCASIONS, WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION, THE ENGINE WOULD DIE, THERE WOULD BE NO RPM, THE CONSUMERS FOOT WOULD BE ON THE BRAKES, THE ENGINE WOULD START UP AND THE RPM WOULD READ 1200. *SC *JB
2004 HONDA CIVIC. CONSUMER STATES THAT THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED UP TO 80 MPH IN 10 SECONDS THE BRAKES FAILED. *MC
2004 HONDA CIVIC HYBRID. CONSUMER STATES ISSUES WITH SEAT BELT LIGHT *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED THE DEALER HAD SUPPOSEDLY FIXED THE PROBLEM IN THE PAST. HOWEVER, THE CONSUMER HAD TO RETURN TO THE DEALER FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. THE DEALER THEN SAID THE SEAT BELT LIGHT ILLUMINATING WAS DUE TO ANOTHER ISSUE AND THAT THE PART WOULD HAVE TO BE ORDERED. WHEN THE CONSUMER WENT BACK TO THE DEALER FOR HER 90,000 MILE MAINTENANCE, SHE HAD TO REMIND THEM TO REPLACE THE PART. WHEN THE OTHER REPAIRS WERE COMPLETED, THE SERVICE MANAGER INFORMED THE CONSUMER THE COST TO FIX THE PROBLEM WOULD BE $750.00 AND THAT IT WAS NOT UNDER WARRANTY. HE EXPLAINED THAT THE SRS CONTROL UNIT WAS BAD AND IF SHE DID NOT GET IT FIXED, THE AIR BAGS WOULD BE USELESS. *JB
