HEAD OF THE TENSION BOLT FOR THE IDLER PULLEY BROKE WHILE DRIVING THE CAR. TOOK IT INTO THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD THAT THIS WAS A COMMON ISSUE, AND THAT THEY COULD EITHER DRILL IT OUT, OR IT WAS STUCK AND A NEW ENGINE BLOCK WAS NEEDED. IN THIS CASE A NEW BLOCK WAS NEEDED. DOING SOME RESEARCH ON THIS ISSUE REVEALED THAT THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THIS BOLT BREAKING ON THE 2006 CIVIC, WHICH IS OF THE SAME GENERATION AND HAS THE SAME ENGINE AS MY 2008 CIVIC. MY CAR ONLY HAS APPROXIMATELY 86,000 MILES ON IT. HAD THE IDLER PULLEY COME OFF AFTER THE BOLD HEAD HAD BROKE, THIS COULD HAVE CAUSED A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. THE FACT THAT THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN RECALLED IN A PREVIOUS MODEL YEAR, AND PERSISTS THROUGH A FUTURE MODEL YEAR MAKES ME WORRY ABOUT OTHERS. THE BOLT IS ALSO NOT SOMETHING THAT IS CALLED FOR TO BE REGULARLY REPLACED. CALLING HONDA YIELDED NO ASSISTANCE OR CONCERN IN THIS MATTER.

MY PROBLEM IS WITH MY ALMOST 11 YEAR OLD CAR. 2008 WITH ONLY 58,000. MILES. I'M A SENIOR WITH LIMITED INCOME,SO I CAN'T AFFORD TO HAVE IT PAINTED. TAKATA RECALL I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR MONTHS ON THIS RECALL AFTER NOTIFYING RUSTY WALLACE HONDA IN THE DALLAS AREA AND HAVE HAD NO FURTHER CONTACT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2008 HONDA CIVIC. WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH IN INCLEMENT WEATHER, THE WHEELS AND THE STEERING COLUMN SEIZED. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO A GUARDRAIL. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED TO A SALVAGE YARD. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 109,000.
I WOULD LIKE TO REPORT A COMPLAINT WITH HONDA CORPORATION. THERE WAS A WARRANTY ISSUED FOR 2008 HONDA CIVICS THAT COVERED AN ISSUE WITH PAINT CHALKING, CRACKING, AND CLOUDING. I WAS NEVER NOTIFIED OF THE WARRANTY AND THEY CANNOT CONFIRM WHAT HOME ADDRESS THE WARRANTY NOTIFICATION WAS SENT TO....IF AT ALL.. LACK OF COMMUNICATION FROM HONDA CORPORATION IS A CLEAR GAP IN INTERNAL PROCESSES.
PAINT ON MY NAVY BLUE CIVIC IS DETERIORATING ON THE TRUNK, HOOD AND ROOF. ALSO MY PASSENGER SUN VISOR IS BROKE. IT LOOKS LIKE IT MELTED AND CRACKED FOR NO APPARENT REASON. THERE HAVE BEEN MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT PAINT PEELING AND CHIPPING . YOU WOULD THINK THAT HONDA WOULD TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE PROBLEM.
THE PAINT ON THE ROOF OF THE CAR HAS SEVERAL BASEBALL SIZE WHITE SPOTS THAT LOOK LIKE CLEAR COAT IS COMING OFF.
PAINT OXIDATION ON ROOF, HOOD AND TRUNK OF CAR.
THE CAR KEEP ON SHUTTING OFF. CHECKED THE FUEL PUMP ASSEMBLY ON MY DRIVEWAY. I FOUND OUT A BURNT ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR TO THE FUEL PUMP. IT MELTED PART OF THE FUEL PUMP CONTAINER. IT'S GOOD THE TANK WAS NOT FULL. IT COULD HAVE BLOWN THE TANK AND THE CAR. MY MECHANIC WOULD ATTEST FOR THIS. I FORGOT TO TAKE A PICTURE OF THE BURNT PART OF THE FUEL PUMP ASSEMBLY. I STILL HAVE THE BURNT CONNECTOR THOUGH.
I WAS DRIVING AND SWITCHED INTO 3RD GEAR; POPPED OUT. ALSO 3RD GEAR GETS STUCK AND CAN'T SHIFT INTO 3RD GEAR.
SHORTLY AFTER RECEIVING A VOLUNTARY WARRANTY EXTENSION/ RECALL MY WIFE'S 2008 HONDA CIVIC LX 4 DR. EXPERIENCE AN ENGINE BLOCK CRACK AFTER DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY. I DROVE IT TO THE DEALER IN WAUKESHA, WI WHERE IS WAS CONFIRMED AS A CRACK. SINCE THE REPLACEMENT I HAVE EXPERIENCED ISSUED WITH THE NEW BLOCK INCLUDING A KNOCKING SOUND IN THE ENGINE AT LOW RPM'S I WAS ADVISED BY HONDA IN CA THAT THE BLOCK IS NEW HOWEVER THE OLDER INTERNAL ENGINE BLOCK PARTS WERE BEING REUSED TO INCLUDE THE CRANK, PISTONS, ETC. WHICH IS CAUSING THE NEW ENGINE TO FAIL ALSO.
I JUST BOUGHT THIS CAR WITH 119,000 MILES ON IT FROM A DEALERSHIP. IT WAS OK FOR THE FIRST FIVE DAYS UNTIL I NOTICED THAT SOMETHING WAS WRONG. ON MY WAY BACK HOME, I NOTICED THE READING ON THE TEMPERATURE GAUGE RISING. IT KEPT RISING ALMOST TO THE RED MARKER. I WAS VERY STRESSED. I FINALLY FIGURED OUT THAT MY COOLANT RESERVOIR WAS COMPLETELY EMPTY. MY TEMPORARY SOLUTION WAS TO ADD SOME COOLANT TO THE RADIATOR AND TO THE RESERVOIR. SO FAR THE TEMPERATURE GAUGE HAS REMAINED AT A GOOD AND STEADY TEMPERATURE. THERE IS A COOLANT LEAK IN MY CAR BUT I CAN'T FIND IT. HOPEFULLY, HONDA WILL TAKE A LOOK AT IT AND DETERMINE THE PROBLEM.
WHEN I TURNED MY HEADLIGHTS ON, MY DASHLIGHTS GO COMPLETELY OFF, LEAVING ME WITH NO LIGHTS ON THE INTERIOR DASHBOARD; FUEL, SPEED, ETC., ALL LIGHTS GONE. WHEN I TURN MY HEADLIGHTS OFF, THE DASHLIGHTS COME BACK ON. THERE WAS NO ACCIDENT AND THIS CAR IS WAY UNDER MILEAGE FOR ITS YEAR; I WORKED AT HOME.

THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE BRAKES FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 8,283.
MY SON WAS DRIVING MY 2008 HONDA CIVIC TO COLLEGE ON HIGHWAY 44 HEADING WEST AT APPROXIMATELY 2:10 PM TOWARD JOPLIN MO. WHILE DRIVING WEST ON 44, THE DRIVER SIDE AIRBAG SUDDENLY DEPLOYED. MY SON SAID HE HEARD A LOUD BANG AND HIS HEAD WAS PUSHED BACK INTO THE HEADREST. WHEN THE AIRBAG DEPLOYED HE IMMEDIATELY SLAMMED ON THE BRAKES AND ENDED OFF THE ROAD ON THE LEFT SIDE IN THE MEDIAN. HE WAS SHOCKED AND OVER WHELMED THAT THIS OCCURRED BECAUSE HE DID NOT HIT ANYTHING. A HELPFUL PERSON STOPPED AND HELPED REMOVE THE DEPLOYED AIRBAG. SOON AFTERWARD, STATE POLICE ARRIVED AFTER ANOTHER MOTORIST CALLED AND CONFIRMED NO DAMAGE OCCURRED TO THE CAR TO WARRANT DEPLOYMENT OF AN AIRBAG. MY SON THEN CONTINUED ON TO JOPLIN. THE FOLLOWING DAY, MY SON TOOK THE CAR TO THE HONDA DEALERSHIP IN JOPLIN. AFTER INSPECTION, THE DEALERSHIP CLAIMED THAT A SMALL HOLE IN THE FRONT FENDER CAUSE THE AIRBAG TO DEPLOY...THEY FOUND GRASS AND DEBRIS FROM THE HIGHWAY MEDIAN AROUND THE DAMAGED AREA. THEY WERE VERY UNCOOPERATIVE AND MORE WILLING TO BLAME THE CAUSE ON MY SON RATHER THAN A DEFECTIVE AIRBAG SYSTEM THAT IS KNOWN TO BE A PROBLEM IN SEVERAL OTHER MODELS. INDEED, WHILE THEY ARE CONCERNED ABOUT THE CAUSE AND LOOKING FOR OTHER REASONS. MEANWHILE, WE ARE MORE CONCERNED AND LUCKY THAT MY SON DID NOT GET KILLED IN THIS INCIDENT! WHAT ABOUT OTHER SONS, DAUGHTERS AND LOVED ONES DRIVING THESE TIME BOMBS...ARE THEY GOING TO BE THIS LUCKY? THE CAR SUFFERED NO COLLISION AND YET THE AIRBAG DEPLOYED WHICH IS THE FACT THE HONDA DEALERSHIP IS IGNORING. I AM MORE INCLINED TO BELIEVE THE AIRBAG SYSTEM IS DEFECTIVE CONSIDERING THE HISTORY OF THE AIRBAG SYSTEMS. TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2008 HONDA CIVIC. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, THE CONTACT CRASHED THE VEHICLE INTO A DEER. AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE ROLLED AND THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
I WAS MAKING A LEFT TURN LEAVING MY PLACE OF WORK. THE CAR MADE A LOUD GRINDING NOISE AND THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED (POWER STEERING WENT) AND A/C STOPPED WORKING. I IMMEDIATELY PARKED THE CAR AND THE NEXT DAY HAD IT TOWED TO A HONDA DEALERSHIP. UPON INSPECTION, THE WATER PUMP SEIZED UP. THE PULLEY AND LOCK BOLT HOLDING THE SERPENTINE BELT HAD PRACTICALLY FALLEN OFF. THIS WAS CONFIRMED BY A HONDA DEALERSHIP TECHNICIAN. THE CAR HAS LOW MILEAGE, I AM THE FIRST OWNER, AND THE CAR HAS ONLY BEEN SERVICED AT A HONDA DEALERSHIP. I WILL ALSO REFERENCE A SERVICE BULLETIN ISSUED ON 2006 HONDA CIVICS. THERE IS NO RECALL ON 2008'S EVEN THOUGH IT CONTAINS THE SAME R18 ENGINE (ENGINE BLOCK CRACKING PROBLEMS) AS THE 2006 AND 2007. THE FRONT MOTOR MOUNT HAS FAILED AND IS VIBRATING LOUDLY. ALSO, THE CRUISE CONTROL BUTTON HAS FAILED @ 50K ON 2 HONDA CIVIC GENERATION 8'S THAT I OWN.
I HAVE A 2008 HONDA CIVIC LX AND WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY WHEN THE VISOR SUDDENLY FELL IN MY POINT OF VIEW. THANKFULLY I WAS AT A GOOD CRUISING SPEED WITH NO ONE AROUND ME. I READ ABOUT THE THE CIVIL SUIT AND THE SUPPOSED 100K MILE EXTENDED WARRANTY BUT WHEN I TOOK INTO THE HONDA DEALERSHIP THEY DENIED PAYING FOR MY VISOR SAYING THE VEHICLE WAS TO OLD. I ONLY HAVE 92K ON THE CAR AND I THINK THIS SHOULD OF BEEN A RECALLED SAFETY VIOLATION BECAUSE IF SOMEONE WOULD OF HAPPENED TO BE IN FRONT OF ME SLOWING DOWN I WOULD HAVE LOST MOST OF MY TIME TO BE ABLE TO BRAKE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 HONDA CIVIC. UPON STARTING THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO INITIATE THE AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM BUT IT FAILED TO WORK. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE WOULD OCCUR INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE AIR COMPRESSOR HAD FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 91,300.
THE VISORS BROKE IN JULY 2015 AND CRACKED; THEY CANNOT BE USED. I WAS ABLE TO RETURN THE DRIVER SIDE VISOR TO THE UPRIGHT POSITION; HOWEVER, THE PASSENGER VISOR DOES NOT RETURN TO THE UPRIGHT POSITION AND OFTEN IS BOTHERSOME TO PASSENGERS. WHEN HONDA WAS CONTACTED IN OCTOBER 2015 I WAS INFORMED THAT I HAD RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE IN MAY 2011. I DID NOT PURCHASE THE CAR UNTIL OCTOBER OF THAT YEAR. I WAS ALSO INFORMED THAT THE TIME PERIOD IN WHICH TO RESPOND TO THE RECALL FOR REPAIR HAD CONCLUDED AND THAT I COULD PAY TO HAVE THE VISORS REPAIRED. THEY COST OVER $50 EACH. THEREFORE, I HAVE NOT REPAIRED THE VISORS. THE MILEAGE IS APPROXIMATE. THE INITIAL INCIDENT OCCURRED IN A PARKING LOT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 HONDA CIVIC. WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED AND THE VEHICLE MADE AN ABNORMAL NOISE. THE FAILURE RECURRED NUMEROUS TIMES. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR ALSO ILLUMINATED CONTINUOUSLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE COMPLIANCE BUSHING FRACTURED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 73,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
REAR TIRES CUP AFTER ONLY A FEW THOUSAND MILES. CONSTANTLY REPLACING REAR TIRES. HONDA RECALLED THE '06 & '07 MODELS FOR THIS BUT CLAIMED THEY FIXED THE ISSUE IN '08. IT DOESN'T SEEM TO BE THE CASE.
ONE OF THE CONTROL ARMS, I BELIEVE IT IS CALLED, WENT BAD AND CRACKED. THE FRONT ONES WENT BAD AND HAD TO BE REPLACED, BUT WERE UNDER WARRANTY. THESE WOULD BE THE ARMS THAT CONNECT AND HOLD THE TIRES/BRAKES BUT NOT THE SUSPENSION. I MAY HAVE REFERRED TO THEM WRONG, BUT THEY WENT BAD NONETHELESS.
PAINT IS PEELING ON ROOF. LAST WEEK AS I WAS LOADING A TODDLER INTO THE VEHICLE, HE MANAGED TO GRAB A PIECE OF CHIPPED PAINT AND PUT IT IN MOUTH. I DID SOME RESEARCHED AND DISCOVERED THAT HONDA HAD ISSUES WITH THIS PARTICULAR PAINT. HOWEVER, THEY ARE NOT TAKING RESPONSIBILITY SINCE I MISSED THEIR DEADLINE. I AM GRATEFUL THAT I WAS ABLE TO INTERCEDE AND TAKE THE PIECE OF PAINT OUT OF MY NEPHEW'S MOUTH AND PREVENT HIM FROM GOING TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM BUT COULD YOU IMAGINE THE POTENTIAL RISKS OUT THERE. BASED ON MY RESEARCH IT IS COMMON FOR THIS PAINT TO CHIP ON THE ROOF AND TRUNK, AND I CANNOT BELIEVE THAT HONDA IS SIMPLY LOOKING THE OTHER WAY. I GUESS WE ONLY HAVE TO WAIT AND SEE THE REPERCUSSIONS OF THEIR NEGLIGENCE AND HOPE THAT DRIVERS ARE VIGILANT WHEN LOADING/UNLOADING UNRULY TODDLERS FROM THESE QUESTIONABLE VEHICLES.
CLEAR COAT & PAINT STILL FADING AFTER IT WAS REPAINTED BY CLEOBAY HONDA IN 2014. SIDE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT IS ON MOST OF THE TIME FOR NO REASON. SUN VISOR'S WHERE REPLACED TWICE LAST IN 2014 AND ARE BROKEN AGAIN. THEY WILL NOT STAY UP OR DOWN.
THE AIR CONDITIONING STOPPED WORKING. WHEN I TOOK IT TO A DEALER FOR SERVICE, THEY INDICATED THAT THE COMPRESSOR HAD FAILED, SENDING METAL FILINGS THROUGHOUT THE AC SYSTEM (A $3700 REPAIR). AFTER A LITTLE SEARCHING, IT IS CLEAR THAT MANY OWNERS OF HONDA CIVICS (MODEL YEARS 2006-12) HAVE HAD SIMILAR PROBLEMS, AS HAVE DRIVERS OF OTHER HONDA MODELS. HONDA RECALLED THE AC SYSTEMS ON THE CR-VS FROM THIS PERIOD, BUT NOT FOR THE CIVIC. GIVEN THE APPARENT PREVALENCE OF THE PROBLEM IN THE CIVIC AC SYSTEMS, I BELIEVE A MANUFACTURER'S RECALL MAY BE IN ORDER.
ENGINE BLOCK IS LEAKING - COOLANT LEAK.
CLEAR COAT STARTING PEELING OFF OF THE ROOF ROUGHLY 6/2015 (ROUGHLY AT 70,000 MILES), TO DATE THE PROBLEM HAS SPREAD TO THE TRUNK AND STARTING ON THE SIDE PANELS. I HAVE REACHED OUT TO MY HONDA DEALERSHIP ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS AND WAS INFORMED THAT MY VIN WAS NOT A PART OF THE HONDA CLEAR COAT RECALL AND THAT I WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL REPAIRS. VEHICLE IS PARKED INDOORS AND HAS NOT BEEN EXPOSED TO ANY HAZARDOUS WEATHER CONDITIONS/ETC THAT WOULD CAUSE THIS PAINT ISSUE.

THE FAILURE CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO LEAK ANTIFREEZE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS INVALID. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
THIS CAR IS OVERALL GOOD BUT ITS PAINT QUALITY STARTED TO BECOME CHALKY AND DISCOLORED ON THE ROOF AND TRUNK IN 2015. I WONDER IF THIS IS GOING TO GET COVERED BY HONDA AMERICA BECAUSE THIS ISSUE MAKES MY CAR LOOK UGLY AND SO THE VALUE BECOMES AFFECTED. NOTE: I PARK MY CAR IN MY GARAGE MOST OF THE TIME IN CALIFORNIA.
ON 5/19/2015 THE DRIVER AIR BAG LIGHT CAME LIT UP ON MY CLUSTER AND MY SEAT BELT LIGHT COMES ON AND BEEPS EVEN THOUGH I HAVE MY SEAT BELT ON THE CORRECT WAY.
THIS VEHICLE IS A 2008 HONDA CIVIC SEDAN AND THE ENTIRE AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. THESE REPAIRS WILL COST OVER $2,000. THIS MODEL OF VEHICLE HAS A HISTORY OR AIR CONDITIONING RELATED FAILURES. THE NEED FOR HONDA TO ADDRESS THIS WITH A RECALL EXISTS WITH SO MANY PEOPLE HAVING ISSUES. KEEP TAKING THE CAR TO THE DEALER FOR SERVICE AND NO CLEAR ANSWERS ARE GIVEN AS TO WHAT THE PROBLEM IS. THE TRUE IS THAT THE CAR HAS A BIG ISSUE WITH THE AIR CONTIDIONING AND HONDA SHOULD MAKE SURE IS TAKING CARE OF.
AS I WAS DRIVING THROUGH I-95, I NOTICED THAT THE INTERIOR ROOF LINING MOSTLY ON THE REAR AREA STARTED FLAPPING AND SAGGING. IT WAS BLOCKING MY REAR VIEW VISION, WHICH WAS VERY DANGEROUS WHEN DRIVING AT HIGH SPEEDS. I WAS FORCED TO SHOULDER AT I95 BECAUSE OF THIS AND CLOSED MY WINDOWS JUST TO AVOID THE DISTRACTION. IT WAS STILL SAGGING YET NO FLAPPING OCCURRED, I EXITED PREMATURELY AT I95 TO DRIVE TO THE SIDE STREETS TO BE SAFE. NOW THE REASON WHY IT WAS FLAPPING IN THE WIND IS BECAUSE I WAS FORCED TO OPEN MY WINDOWS BECAUSE OF ANOTHER HONDA CIVIC PROBLEM, AN A/C PROBLEM THAT WAS UNRESOLVED FOR ALMOST TWO MONTHS. I KEPT GOING BACK AND FORTH TO SERVICE CENTERS TO HAVE IT FIXED BUT NO LEAKAGE WAS FOUND. MY A/C WAS NOT WORKING AND WAS LATER FOUND OUT THAT THE COMPRESSOR MALFUNCTIONED. IT WAS A SERIES OF UNPLEASANT EVENTS THEN THAT INVOLVED MY HONDA CIVIC ASIDE FROM THE TIRES THAT I NEED TO REPLACE 3 TIMES IN A SPAN OF THREE YEARS..
THIS VEHICLE IS A 2008 HONDA CIVIC COUPE AND THE ENTIRE AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. THESE REPAIRS WILL COST $2,000 AND AFTER DOING EXTENSIVE RESEARCH, THIS MODEL OF VEHICLE HAS A HISTORY OR AIR CONDITIONING RELATED FAILURES. THE NEED FOR HONDA TO ADDRESS THIS WITH A RECALL EXISTS WITH SO MANY PEOPLE HAVING ISSUES.

THE PAINT ON THE BACK OF MY ROOF AND THE TOP OF MY TRUNK HAS BEEN SLOWLY PEELING OFF OVER THE LAST FEW YEARS. I HAVE SEEN THE SAME PEELING PAINT PATTERN ON SEVERAL OTHER HONDA CIVICS IN THE 2007-2010 RANGE. THIS IS CLEARLY A DEFECT.

MY SON WAS INVOLVED IN A CAR CRASH WITH A LARGE SUV. HE HIT THEM FROM THE REAR. MY HONDA CIVIC WENT UNDER THE BUMPER OF THE LARGE SUV. I WAS PULLING OUT OF A WALMART PARKING LOT THROUGH A 4 WAY INTERSECTION ONTO CENTER OF NEW ENGLAND BOULEVARD (COVENTRY, RI). THIS IS A STRIP ROAD USED FOR ACCESSING THE DEVELOPED SHOPPING AREA BUT NOT A MAIN ROAD. I WAS INCREASING SPEED FROM A STOPPED POSITION AND TURNING LEFT, DID NOT EXCEED 10MPH AND WAS ALREADY THROUGH THE TURN AIMING STRAIGHT WHEN MY PASSENGER AIRBAG EXPLODED WITHOUT INCIDENT. I DID NOT CALL POLICE BECAUSE THERE WAS NO INCIDENT TO WARRANT THEIR ARRIVAL AND I WAS ON MY WAY TO AN INTERNATIONAL FLIGHT AT BOSTON LOGAN AIRPORT SO MY INSURANCE LOOPHOLE CLAIMS I HAVE TO FILE A CLAIM WITHIN 7 DAYS TO VALIDATE A CLAIM. MY INTERNATIONAL TRIP WAS 18 DAYS IN VIETNAM AND I DIDN'T TRY TO FILE AN INSURANCE CLAIM UNTIL MY RETURN; MORE THAN 7 DAYS AFTER THE INCIDENT. NO PRIOR ACCIDENTS, DAMAGE CLAIMS ETC ON THE VEHICLE.

ACCORDING TO HONDA THEY HAVE NO REPORTED ISSUES WITH THIS PROBLEM AND THAT I AM JUST NOT TAKING CARE OF THE VEHICLE AND ITS MY FAULT. LAST AUGUST MY BROTHER-IN-LAW RECEIVED A WARRANTY EXTENSION FOR THE PAINT ON HIS 2005 CIVIC THAT IS A LIGHT SANDY COLOR. MY CIVIC IS DARK RED. WHEN I MENTIONED THIS NOTICE TO HONDA THEY SAID THAT THE ISSUE IS VIN BY VIN BASED AND MY CAR BECAUSE IT IS A "LIGHT" COLOR DOESN'T QUALIFY FOR THIS WARRANTY EXTENSION. I SAID TO THE REP THEN YOU DO ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH THE PAIN ON CIVICS. SHE AGAIN SAID NO AND IF THE PAINT IS CRACKING THEN ITS SOMETHING I'M DOING WRONG IN TAKING CARE OF THE VEHICLE.
