The paint on this blue Honda Civic 2010 has been wearing away for years. There’s chips of paint missing on the hood. There is paint wear on the roof in two wide strips, on the trunk all over and the fenders. Also, the roof, when washed by auto carwash, buckles in when being dried so you can tell metal is thin. There’s definitely a defect in these civics I see them all over the place and every blue one almost has worn paint just like mine! Honda had to have done something wrong with these paint jobs, they should repaint them for free!
EVERY 9,000 TO 10,000 MILES REAR BRAKE PADS WORN OUT PREMATURELY CAUSING ROTORS TO LOCK UP WITHOUT WARNING. I BELIEVE THIS ISSUE OCCURRED ON ALMOST ALL 2010 HONDA CIVIC. IN NORMAL DRIVING CONDITION BRAKE PADS SHOULD LAST AT LEAST 30,000 MILES IN COMPARE TO OTHER MAJOR CAR MANUFACTURES. PLEASE INVESTIGATE THIS WITH HONDA AND FIND A REMEDY FOR THE FIX. *TR
PAINT PEELING DUE TO POOR WORKMANSHIP
THE PAINT BEGAN TO FAIL AND I CONTACTED HONDA'S WEBSITE AS DIRECTED TO FIND ALL ISSUES (RECALL AND TSB - TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETINS) AND THERE WERE NO ITEMS. FROM 2015 ON WE WOULD CHECK. THEN I FOUND AN ARTICLE THAT SAID IT WAS COVERED UNDER AN EXTENDED PAINT WARRANTY. I WAS NEVER CONTACTED. I CALLED HONDA AND THEY DECLINED TO FIX IT SAYING THAT I PURCHASED IT USED. THEY GAVE ME A $7000 QUOTE TO FIX THE CAR. THEY SAID BECAUSE I BOUGHT IT USED, THEY DID NOT HAVE TO CONTACT ME. THE ENTIRE CAR HAS CLEARCOAT FAILURE LEADING TO PAINT FAILURE. THE CAR HAS BEEN MAINTAINED REGULARLY, GARAGE KEPT AND WASHED / WAXED PER RECOMMENDATIONS. THE EXPERTS AND HONDA HAVE SAID THAT THIS IS A MANUFACTURING FAILURE BUT THEY DID NOT FEEL THAT THEY HAD TO TELL ALL OWNERS.
MY CIVIC HAS DEVELOPED EXCESSIVE BEARING NOISE IN THE TRANSMISSION AND IT IS GETTING LOUDER, ESPECIALLY IN COLD WEATHER.
THE DRIVER'S DOOR POWER LOCK ACTUATOR FAILED AND WITHIN TWO MONTHS THE REAR DRIVER'S DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR FAILED AS WELL.
1. THE PAINT ON THE ROOF IS FADDING IN BIG BLOTCHES. 2. THE RUBBER AROUND THE FRONT AND SIDE WINDOWS IS CRACKED AND BRITTLE. 3. HEADLAMP COVERS ARE CLOUDY 4. VISORS WARP. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME...... 5. TIRE CRACKING
DRIVER SIDE SUN VISOR BROKE BY SIMPLY PULLING DOWN THE VISOR TO SHIELD MY EYES AT 55MPH. IT NOW JUST HANGS HALFWAY DOWN AND WILL NOT STAY UP AGAINST THE ROOF AREA. I HAVE READ THAT HONDA HAS HAD ISSUES IN THE PAST WITH THEIR VISORS BUT ONLY FIXING UP TO 2009 AND MINE IS A 2010. THIS IS A BIT DANGEROUS. *TR
AFTER PURCHASING MY 2010 HONDA CIVIC, WITHIN A MONTH AFTER PUTTING 5,000 ON MY HONDA CIVIC I HAD TO REPLACE THE BRAKES, BRAKES ARE FAULTY, IVE WENT THRU 2 BRAKE JOBS WITHIN A YEAR AND ONLY 12,000 MILES.......NEED TO RECALL THE BRAKES. *TR
THE PAINT HAS BEEN PEELING OFF THE HOOD,TRUNK AND ROOF OF CAR PROGRESSIVELY FOR PAST FEW YEARS. I HAVE SEEN MANY OTHER HONDA CIVICS WITH SIMILAR ISSUE AND VERY SURPRISED THERE IS NOT A RECALL ON THIS.
THE MOTOR MOUNT SHOULD NOT HAVE NEEDED REPLACED AT 62,409 MILES. IT VIBRATES VERY BAD WHEN IN REVERSE AND MAKES THIS UNGODLY NOISE. *TR
BROUGHT MY HONDA CIVIC IN FOR ROUTINE MAINTENANCE ON 9/27/14. WAS TOLD I HAD A POWER STEERING LEAK AND MY ENTIRE POWER STEERING RACK HAD TO BE REPLACED AT A COST OF $1200.00. I WAS TOLD THE LEAK IS VERY SLOW AND NOT AN IMMEDIATE CONCERN BUT THAT IT WILL GET WORSE. THIS SEEMS TO BE AN ONGOING PROBLEM WITH THIS PARTICULAR MAKE, MODEL AND YEAR FOR THE CIVIC. TODAY, 9/24/2014, I HAD TO REPLACE MY FRONT BRAKES FOR THE SECOND TIME AND THE CAR HAS ONLY 46,147 MILES ON IT. MY WIFE AND I DRIVE THE CAR VERY CAREFULLY AND WE DON'T LIVE IN A MOUNTAIN AREA. FIRST TIME WE CHANGED THE BRAKES WAS AT 10,000 MILES. I CHOSE HONDA CIVIC BECAUSE OF PREVIOUS HONDAS I HAD, AND NONE OF THE PREVIOUS HONDA HAD BRAKES ISSUES LIKE OUR 2010 CIVIC. I HAD A 2008 CIVIC WHICH I LEASED AT THAT TIME, AND I EXITED THE LEASE AT 36,000 MILES WITHOUT HAVING TO CHANGE THE BRAKES ONCE! I FEEL THAT MY 2010 CIVIC HAS A DEFECTIVE BRAKES AND THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT WHERE I HAD MY CAR SERVICED AT SAID THEY HEARD SIMILAR COMPLAINTS. HONDA NEEDS TO PUT THE SAFETY OF THEIR CLIENTS AHEAD AND ADMIT OF THEIR FAULTY BRAKE PADS AND ISSUE A RECALL ON THE 2010 HONDA CIVIC. THANK YOU! *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 HONDA CIVIC. WHILE DRIVING AT LOW SPEEDS, THE DRIVER SIDE AIR BAG AND CEILING AIR BAG DEPLOYED UNEXPECTEDLY. THE CONTACT SUFFERED AN INJURY TO THE FACE AND THE DRIVER SEAT WAS FRACTURED IN HALF BY A METAL FRAGMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V351000 (AIR BAGS). VEHICLE HAS GRINDING NOISE. BROUGHT TO HONDA (NORM REEVES HONDA/HUNTINGTON BEACH) DEALERSHIP. FOUND THAT LEFT FRONT SENSOR BROKE OFF . ISSUE: WHY WOULD A BRAKE PAD EARLY WARNING DEVICE (SENSOR BREAK OFF). LEFT SIDE BROKE COMPLETELY, THE RIGHT SIDE WAS HALF BROKE. IS THIS A SAFETY ISSUE? MY DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING THIS VEHICLE AND THERE WAS NO INDICATION THAT BRAKES ARE COMPROMISED. IT ALSO CAUSED EXTRA COST BY CAUSING ROTORS TO BE REPLACED. *TR
THE DRIVER SIDE SUN VISOR FLOPPED DOWN. WHEN I LOOKED AT IT HAD SEPARATED SO IT NO LONGER STAYS UP. I'M LUCKY IT HAPPENED AFTER I HAD COME BACK FROM DRIVING 40 SOMETHING MILES ON THE HIGHWAY WHERE IT COULD HAVE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. FROM LOOKING AROUND IT WOULD BE ABOUT A 46 TO 53 DOLLAR REPAIR PLUS SHIPPING IF I DO IT MYSELF. WHAT A RIP OFF ON SOMETHING POORLY DESIGNED. I'VE ALREADY SEARCHED THE ISSUE ON THE INTERNET AND SOME HONDA FORUMS (EVEN ON AMAZON WHERE IT SHOWS PEOPLE WHO TECHNICALLY IN WARRANTY (EXTENDED) BUT DON'T KNOW) WHICH SHOW DOZENS OF COMPLAINTS. ITS STILL HAPPENING TO THE 2010 HONDA'S SO ITS NOT JUST THE EARLIER MODELS OF THE 2006-2008. *TR
PLASTIC PART OF CAR KEY HOUSING FELL FROM THE METAL PART OF THE KEY AND ENGINE SHUT OFF. AT HOME, AFTER THE KEY HOUSING FELL TO THE CAR FLOOR, I EXAMINED IT. THE PLASTIC KEY HOUSING HAD FINE CRACKS WHERE METAL PART OF KEY WAS SUPPOSED BE SECURED WITH A TINY SCREW THAT WAS STILL IN THE METAL KEY. THE FINE CRACKS WAS ENOUGH TO ALLOW THE HOUSING TO OPEN AND SLIP OFF THE METAL KEY. APPARENTLY, THE METAL END OF THE KEY ISN'T LONG ENOUGH TO BE A LEVER WHEN TURNING ON THE IGNITION. THE PLASTIC HOUSING OF THE KEY TWISTED WHEN TURNING ON THE IGNITION AND RESULTED IN THE CRACKS AT THE BASE OF THE KEY. WITHOUT THE PROGRAMMED CHIP ATTACHED TO THE METAL KEY, THE IGNITION SHUTS OFF. *TR
I recently read about NHTSA ID Number: 11469938 It made me realize I have the same problem although not as bad. My driver side sun visor is split at the seam. This causes it to hang slightly lower but does not completely block my view of the road. I have never had it inspected/replaced, but after reading about the complaint case above, I am worried the same may happen to my visor in the future (i.e. visor will flop down and block my view of the road).
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 HONDA CIVIC. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE MAKING A TURN, THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL NOISE COMING FROM THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE OCCURRED ONCE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR A DIAGNOSIS AND THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
DRIVER'S SIDE SUN VISOR SPLIT AT SEAM, DROPPING VISOR INTO LINE OF SIGHT. COMMON PROBLEM ON CIVICS, CLASS ACTION SUIT RESULTED IN WARRANTY EXTENSION TO SEVEN YEARS FOR MODELS THROUGH 2009. THEY KEPT INSTALLING THE SAME DEFECTIVE VISORS, BUT THE 2010 MODEL IS NOT COVERED. *TR
ABOUT (3 YEAR WARRANTY) 3 MONTHS AFTER THE WARRANTY EXPIRED THESE WHITE SPOTS STARTED THE FORM ON BACK AND TRUNK OF THE CAR. THE DEALERSHIP CLAIMS IT IS WEAR N' TEAR BUT IF YOU WERE TO LOOK UP HOW LONG A PAINT JOB IS SUPPOSE TO LAST...SHOULD BE 10+ YEARS IF PROPERLY DONE. THE REALLY SHOULD FIX THIS PROBLEM FOR FREE BUT UNFORTUNATELY THEY DO NOT. NOW I HAVE TO PAY A SIGNIFICANT ABOUT OF MONEY TO PREVENT THE ENTIRE VEHICLE FROM TURNING INTO SWISS-CHEESE. *TR

MY 2010 CIVIC HAS 40,000 MILES NOW. I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE WINDSHIELD DUE TO THE FACTORY SEAL LEAKING AND CAUSING WATER TO COME INTO MY CAR. HENDRICK HONDA IN BRADENTON, FL ADVISED IT WAS DUE TO "LUCK OF THE DRAW...VERY BAD LUCK" AND "I'VE NEVER SEEN THIS HAPPEN BEFORE." HOWEVER, IT WAS NOT COVERED BY WARRANTY. IN THE STATE OF FL YOUR CAR INSURANCE WILL PAY TO REPLACE YOUR WINDSHIELD ONLY IF THERE IS A CRACK IN THE WINDSHIELD SO THAT WAS $300+ OUT OF POCKET. MY DRIVERS SIDE SUN VISOR HAS SPLIT IN TWO CAUSING IT TO DANGLE IN FRONT OF MY FACE... AGAIN NOT COVERED BY WARRANTY. THE DEALER QUOTED $100 PER VISOR FOR REPLACEMENT. *JS

THE CONTACT TOOK THE TIRE OFF AND NOTICED THAT THE TIRE MOUNT WAS BENT AND THE WHEEL SUSPENSION ARM WAS FRACTURED IN HALF. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 124,000.
VEHICLE SUN VISORS FAIL AND HANG DOWN BLOCKING DRIVERS VIEW. IT CAN HAPPEN UNEXPECTEDLY AND CAN ONLY BE CLEARED BY QUICKLY MOVING VISOR TO SIDE OR HOLDING UP. BOTH ACTIONS EFFECT THE DRIVERS ABILITY TO SAFELY OPERATE AUTOMOBILE.
PEELING PAINT ON THE HOOD, TOP, FENDERS, TRUNK LID.
DAY1: I HAVE A 2010 HONDA CIVIC EX-L SEDAN WITH MILEAGE OF 95-100K. I WAS TRAVELING AT APPROXIMATELY 40-MPH (BEST GUESS-TIMATE), THE VEHICLE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, GREEN LIGHT NEXT TO DRIVE (D) BEGAN FLASHING AND VSA INDICATOR WAS LIT TOO; VEHICLE SEEMED TO BE A BIT JERKY SHIFTING. TOOK IT INTO HONDA AND THEY CHANGED TRANSMISSION FLUID, AS WELL AS REPLACED THE 3RD GEAR PRESSURE SWITCH. DAY 3: I EXPERIENCED A SIMILAR PROBLEM, WITH THE ADDITIONAL SYMPTOM OF THE SPEEDOMETER DISPLAY FLUCTUATING WILDLY / READING TOO LOW OR ZERO VALUES. THE LOCAL HONDA DEALERSHIP PERFORMED A COMPUTER UPDATE, CLEARED ERROR CODES, AND A 10-MIN TEST DRIVE DID NOT RECREATE THE ISSUE. DAY4: WHILE GENTLY ACCELERATING TO 45-MPH, MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT APPEARED AND THE SPEEDOMETER ABRUPTLY DROPPED TO NEAR "ZERO". IT WAS AT THIS POINT THAT THE TRANSMISSION ABRUPTLY DOWN-SHIFTED TO EITHER 1ST OR 2ND GEAR AND CAUSED THE TIRES TO SCREECH (AS IF I HAD JAMMED ON THE BRAKES, BUT I HAD NOT). THE ABRUPT DECELERATION OF MY VEHICLE NEARLY CAUSED AN ACCIDENT WITH THE CAR BEHIND ME, WHO WAS ALSO ACCELERATING AND NARROWLY AVOIDED REAR-ENDING MY VEHICLE (I IMAGINE BECAUSE OF THE SUDDEN DECELERATION WITHOUT WARNING OF BRAKE LIGHTS). THIS TIME, BEFORE RETURNING TO DEALERSHIP, I PERFORMED ONLINE RESEARCH AND WHEN I DID RETURN TO THAT DEALERSHIP, I SUGGESTED THEY CHECK THE ENGINE'S SPEED SENSOR. SURE ENOUGH, THEY ENDED UP REPLACING THE SPEED SENSOR AND HAVEN'T HAD THE PROBLEM SINCE (3 WEEKS NOW). I'M REPORTING NOW BECAUSE OF MY CONCERN THIS MALFUNCTION COULD OCCUR TO SOMEONE ELSE AND CAUSE THEIR VEHICLE TO BE REAR-ENDED. *TR

SINCE MY VIDEO UPLOAD OF THE ISSUE, AT LEAST ONE PERSON HAS E-MAILED ME VIA MY YOUTUBE ACCOUNT AND REQUESTED FOR ME TO LET HIM KNOW HOW THE ISSUE IS RESOLVED BECAUSE HE IS ALSO HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. WHEN I NOTICED THE WATER LEAK I CONTACTED HONDA MOTORS AND HAD THE VEHICLE CHECKED OUT AT SLOANE HONDA'S SERVICE DEPARTMENT IN PHILADELPHIA, PA. HOWEVER THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT WAS NOT ABLE TO REPLICATE THE WATER LEAK AND THEREFORE ARE NOT ABLE TO DETERMINE THE SOURCE OF THE PROBLEM. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT COMPLETED THE ASSESSMENT AS A COURTESY TO ME.THE VEHICLE HAS APPROXIMATELY 28K MILES; HOWEVER THE WARRANTY IS EXPIRED BECAUSE THE VEHICLE WHICH IS A 2010 MODEL IS OVER 3 YEARS OLD. BECAUSE THE WATER LEAK WAS NOT ABLE TO BE REPLICATED AT THE SERVICE LOCATION,HONDA MOTORS IS UNWILLING TO GO ANY FURTHER WITH ADDRESSING THE ISSUE. ANY FURTHER VISITS TO THE SERVICE STATION WOULD REQUIRE FOR ME TO PAY OUT OF POCKET SINCE THE VEHICLE IS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY. MY REQUEST FOR HONDA MOTORS TO EXTEND THEIR MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY UNTIL THE SOURCE OF THE WATER LEAK IS IDENTIFIED AND THE PROBLEM FIXED WAS DENIED. PLEASE ASSIST IN RESOLVING THIS ISSUE WITH MY VEHICLE AND OTHER'S WHO ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEM. MAYBE A RECALL TO IDENTIFY AND CORRECT THE PROBLEM IS WARRANTED. THANK YOU. *TR

TIRE BLOWOUT ON FREEWAY. DRIVER SIDE REAR TIRE. SPEED APPROXIMATELY 60 MILES PER HOUR. CAUSED CAR TO SPIN OUT OF CONTROL. CAR ENDED UP FACING OPPOSING TRAFFIC BETWEEN CARPOOL LANE AND ADJACENT LANE. REQUIRED EMERGENCY PERSONNEL TO GET CAR OFF FREEWAY. TIRE INFORMATION: MICHELIN PRIMACY MXV. DOT N4TA Y4YX 2313. TIRES WERE PURCHASED DEC 30, 2013 FAILED IN LESS THAN 4 MONTHS. THE CAR HAD 41789 MILES WHEN TIRES WERE PURCHASED (TIRES HAD LESS THAN 4000 MILES ON THEM). THEY STILL HAVE HAIRS ON THEM FROM THE MANUFACTURING PROCESS. TIRE WAS INSPECTED BY SEARS PERSONNEL (EUNG LEE) ON FOOTHILL IN PASADENA. IT WAS HIS OPINION THAT IF THERE WAS A DEFECT ALL 4 TIRES WOULD HAVE FAILED INSTEAD OF A SINGLE TIRE. *TR

HERE WE ARE AGAIN AFTER 6 MONTHS WITH ANOTHER COUPLE HUNDRED DOLLARS IN BRAKES. HAVE SPEND OVER 1800 DOLLARS ON PADS, ROTORS AND CALIPERS. CAR STILL WEARING OUT BRAKES IN UNDER 10K. I PURCHASED NEW TIRES AT 52,000 MILES AFTER ROTATING THE OLD ONES EVERY 8,000 MILES. THE OLD TIRES ON THE PASSENGER SIDE WORE UNEVEN ON BOTH THE FRONT AND THE REAR SINCE I ROTATED THEM 5 TIMES. I TOOK THE CAR BACK TO APPLE HONDA IN RIVERHEAD,NEW YORK WHERE I PURCHASED IT. THE SERVICE TECH. SAID "THE REAR RIGHT CAMBER IS OUT OF ALIGNMENT ,SOMETHING IS BENT. MY DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING THIS VEHICLE , JUST DEPARTING FROM A RED LIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTION, A NEWER TAHOE SLAMMED THEIR BRAKES ON SUDDENLY, THE CIVIC WAS COMPLETELY UNDER THE TAHOE, THE CAR (CIVIC) WAS TOTALED. FRONT BUMPER COMPLETELY OFF THE CAR. ALTHOUGH THE CAR WAS A COMPLETE LOSS, AS I CAME ONTO THE SCENE I NOTICED THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY AT ALL. I ASKED THE POLICE INVESTIGATOR WHY. HE DID NOT HAVE AN ANSWER AND THOUGHT IT WAS VERY UNUSUAL. I THEN CALLED THE HONDA CORPORATION AS WELL AS THE INSURANCE COMPANY. THEY SAY "DUE TO THE LOW SPEED IMPACT, THEY USUALLY DO NOT SET OFF THE SENSORS. WHAT? THE ENTIRE BUMPER WHERE THE SENSORS ARE LOCATED WAS RIPPED COMPLETELY OFF, YET THEY SAY IT WAS DUE TO LOW SPEED IMPACT. MY DAUGHTER HAD MAJOR WHIP-LASH, HER CHEST WAS BRUISED VERY BADLY BY THE STEERING WHEEL AND IS STILL HAVING PAIN IN HER TOP BACK. I AM ESPECIALLY GRATEFUL MY DAUGHTER WAS NOT HURT WORSE, BUT THE REASON I BUY HONDAS IS DUE TO SAFETY FEATURES AS PROMISED. *TR
SINCE PURCHASING MY CIVIC IN 2013, I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE FRONT BRAKES TWICE, ONCE IN JANUARY, 2014 AND AGAIN IN FEBRUARY 2016. THE BRAKES BEGAN GRINDING AND SLOWLY STOPPED WORKING OVER A VERY SHORT AMOUNT OF TIME. THIS VEHICLE IS NOT DRIVEN IN STOP-AND-GO TRAFFIC VERY MUCH, MOSTLY HIGHWAY TRAVEL AND SO TWICE IN 3 YEARS IS AT LEAST ONCE TOO MUCH AND IF YOU FIGURE THAT IS IT ONLY 6 YEARS OLD, EVEN TWICE IS TOO MANY.
THE IGNITION-LOCK SYSTEMS ALLOWS MY CAR TO SHUT OFF THE ENGINE WHEN I REMOVE THE KEY WITHOUT EVER PUTTING MY CAR INTO PARK. IT HAS ROLLING IN THE PARKING LOT. I VISIT MY LOCAL DEALER AT HONDA TARRYTOWN, THEY TOOK THE CARE FOR 6 DAYS CHANGE THE KEYS, THE COMPUTER, LOCK ASSY, CONTROL MODULE AND AT THE END OF THE DAY THE KEY STILL COMES OUT WHILE IN DRIVE. INITIALLY THEY TOLD ME EVERYTHING WAS COVER UNDER GUARANTEE. I AGREE TO ALL THE REPAIRS BUT THEY WANTED ME TO PAY $2,400 BECAUSE THE PART WERE NOT COVER. I ENDED UP PAYING $136.02 TO COVER THE DIAGNOSTICS. I STILL DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY. IT WAS THE WRONG DIAGNOSTIC AND THE PROBLEM WAS NOT FIXED. *TR
THE DRIVERS SIDE SUN VISOR WAS NOT STAYING IN PLACE FOR ABOUT 6 MONTHS. YESTERDAY, WHEN I TRIED TO ADJUST IT, THE WHOLE THING CAME RIGHT OFF. THE VISOR SPLIT OPEN AND A BUNCH OF LITTLE PLASTIC PIECES INSIDE WERE BROKEN. I TOOK IT TO THE MECHANIC AND THE PART COSTS $45 AND LUCKILY I'M NOT BEING CHARGED A SERVICE FEE. I WANTED TO REPORT THIS BECAUSE I HAVE READ A LOT ABOUT IT ONLINE AND IT'S NOT FAIR THAT THE MANUFACTURER USES SUCH CHEAP PARTS THAT WILL MELT OR BREAK. *TR
THE DRIVERS SEAT IS EXTREMELY UNCOMFORTABLE. IT CAUSES PAIN WHILE DRIVING CAUSING AN UNSUCCESSFUL ATTEMPT TO FIND A POSITION THAT IS NOT AGONIZING. AFTER DRIVING FOR A SHORT LENGTH OF TIME I HAVE SEVERE LOWER BACK PAIN THAT INTERFERES WITH MY ACTIVITY. *JS

PREMATURE WORM BRAKES. ITS A NEW CAR WITH NEW BRAKES. AFTER BARELY 5000 MILES I HAVE TO REPLACE THE BRAKES. *TR
AS A PRECAUTION, HAD BRAKES INSPECTED 6 MONTHS AGO WHEN CAR HAD APPROXIMATELY 50,000 MILES ON ODOMETER. EXPECTING SOME PAD WEAR AT THIS MILEAGE BUT THERE WAS NO INDICATION OF A PROBLEM. MY VERY TRUSTED MECHANIC SAW NO PROBLEMS WITH THE PADS AND SENT ME ON MY WAY. ON NEXT OIL CHANGE 6 MONTHS LATER, SAME MECHANIC SAYS THAT MY PADS HAVE COMPLETELY WORN OUT AND CAUSED DAMAGE TO THE ROTORS - A $650 REPAIR ON BOTH FRONT AND REAR BRAKES. THE MOST TROUBLING THING ABOUT ALL OF THIS IS THAT THERE WAS ABSOLUTELY NO "CRICKETING" OF THE BRAKE PADS AT ANY TIME! AND NO OTHER TYPICAL BREAK WEAR FUNCTION ISSUES. NOTHING TO INDICATE A PROBLEM WITH MY BRAKES AND NO WAY FOR ME TO KNOW, ASIDE FROM A SUDDEN CATASTROPHIC BRAKE FAILURE IN THE FUTURE. THIS PROBLEM IS ALL OVER THE INTERNET AND WHY THE NHTSA IS ALLOWING HONDA TO IGNORE THIS ISSUE IS COMPLETELY BEYOND COMPREHENSION. *TR
TURNING LEFT AT A LIGHT, FROM A DEAD STOP, I RAN INTO A CURB ON A DIVIDED HIGHWAY. THE FRONT TIRE WENT OVER THE CURB, BUT ONLY THE FRONT TIRE. AFTER COMING BACK IN CONTACT WITH THE ROAD, THE AIRBAGS ON THE DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW AND SEAT (2-DOOR COUPE) DEPLOYED. THERE IS NO DAMAGE TO THE SIDE OF THE CAR, I DID NOT COME INTO CONTACT WITH ANY OTHER OBJECTS OR VEHICLES, AND I HAVE PREVIOUSLY HIT CURBS WITHOUT THIS ISSUE. THE MANUAL SAYS THE AIRBAGS SHOULD ONLY DEPLOY IN A MODERATE TO SEVERE ACCIDENT AND THERE IS NO REASON TO BELIEVE THAT A CURB QUALIFIES AS SUCH. MY CAR IS NOW UN-DRIVABLE. I BELIEVE THE SENSORS ARE MALFUNCTIONING IN THEIR ABILITY TO PROPERLY DETECT A "MODERATE TO SEVERE" ACCIDENT. THE CAR IS 3- YEARS OLD, WITH ABOUT 30K MILES ON IT. NO ACCIDENTS PRIOR TO THIS. OTHERS HAVE COMMENTED THAT INJURIES RESULTED FROM AIRBAGS NOT DEPLOYING PROPERLY. PERHAPS THESE SENSORS SHOULD BE LOOKED INTO? *TR
I BOUGHT THIS CERTIFIED/PRE-OWNED AT HONDA OF BOWIE, [MD]. I DROVE IT FROM UPPER MARLBORO TO HYATTSVILLE AND PARKED IT. AN HOUR LATER IT DID NOT START WHEN I GOT BACK IN THE CAR. I CALLED COLLEGE PARK HONDA BUT THEN CALLED HOB. THEY SENT A FREE TOW TRUCK AFTER I CALLED, IRATE. AT HOB, THE SALESMEN SAID THE BATTERY WAS "NOT UNDER WARRANTY." AT MY INSISTENCE THEY REPLACED IT FREE. A TECHNICIAN SAID IT HAD A FAULTY CELL IN IT. I HAD NOT EVER HAD THIS BEFORE. MY FIRST BATTERY IN MY 1997 HONDA LASTED 153,000 MILES! THE SALESMEN WERE NOT SYMPATHETIC AT FIRST. THE CASHIER WAS ANNOYED I WANTED HONDA CORPORATE'S # AND THE HEAD MANAGER. OTHER THAN THE 2 TECHNICIANS AND 1 SERVICE REP, IT WAS A TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE TO OCCUR. *TR
I WAS ABLE TO PULL THE KEY OUT OF MY CIVIC 2010'S IGNITION WHILE IT WAS STILL IN DRIVE. ALSO, THE EMERGENCY BRAKE DOES NOT ALWAYS ENGAGE FULLY, CAUSING MY VEHICLE TO ROLL. *JS THIS HAS HAPPENED A FEW TIMES IN THE PAST, AND I HAVE CALLED MY LOCAL HONDA DEALERSHIP AS WELL AS THE MAIN HONDA CORPORATION TO REPORT. THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP REFUSED TO LOOK AT THIS SAFETY DEFECT WITHOUT A $105 DIAGNOSTIC FEE, WHICH I CANNOT AFFORD. I HAVE CALLED HONDA INC. TO REPORT THE INCIDENT, THEY REFUSE TO TAKE ANY RESPONSIBILITY AND WILL NOT INSPECT MY VEHICLE. *JS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 HONDA CIVIC. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE ATTEMPTING TO MAKE A RIGHT TURN AT AN INTERSECTION, THE POWER STEERING FAILED TO OPERATE AS THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING AND IT SHOWED SOME ERROR CODES REGARDING THE POWER STEERING MODULE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 32,000.

THE DEALER STATED THE CONSUMER HIT SOMETHING, WHICH CAUSED WATER TO LEAK, AND THE ENGINE TO BLOW. THE CONSUMER REFUTED THE DEALERS CONCLUSION. THE CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO ANOTHER DEALER. AN INSPECTION REVEALED, THE ENGINE WAS BLOWN, BECAUSE A BRACKET PUNCTURED THE RADIATOR. THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONSUMER THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT AND AFTER MARKET PARTS WERE USED, WHICH VOIDED THE WARRANTY, THE CONSUMER HAD. THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE HAD A CLEAN CARFAX REPORT. *JB
IT STARTED AS A SCRAPING NOISE LOCATED ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE WHEEL, ON THE FOURTH DAY THE NOISE WAS OVERWHELMINGLY LOUD, SCRAPING SOUND EVEN THOUGH MY SPEED WAS UNDER THE LIMIT. I TOOK MY CAR TO NTB FOR REPAIR AND WAS SHOCKED! REPLACED DISC BRAKE PADS,BRAKE SHOES,TWO ROTORS EVEN THOUGH THE ONE LOOKED SMOOTH THEY BOTH HSD TO BE REPLACED. *TR
