CAR IS EQUIPPED WITH A "BRAKE HOLD" FEATURE THAT CAN BE ACTIVATED TO HOLD BRAKES ON WHILE THE CAR IS IN DRIVE WITHOUT KEEPING YOUR FOOT ON THE BRAKE, AND THEN PRESS GAS TO START MOVING. FOR THE LAST FEW DAYS, I HAVE BEEN DRIVING AND WHEN I COME TO A COMPLETE STOP, I CAN HEAR THE BRAKE HOLD CLICK ON WITHOUT IT BEING TURNED ON (THERE WOULD BE AN INDICATOR LIGHT ON THE DASH), TO TEST IT I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE AND THE CAR DID NOT MOVE EVEN THOUGH THE BRAKE HOLD WAS NOT ACTIVATED. SOME OF THESE TIMES, THE BRAKE HOLD WOULD COME ON, I WOULD TAKE MY FOOT OFF THE GAS TO SEE IF IT WAS DOING IT, AND THEN 5-10 SECONDS LATER THE BRAKE WOULD RELEASE AND THE VEHICLE WOULD START TO MOVE WITHOUT ME DOING ANYTHING, AND WITHOUT ANY INDICATOR ON THE PANEL. THE BRAKE HOLD FEATURE STILL WORKS FINE WHEN I TURN IT ON, ALL LIGHTS WILL COME ON AND OFF WHEN THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO, BUT THE CAR SEEMS TO HOLD THE BRAKES WITHOUT ME ACTIVATING THE FEATURE, AND THEN THEY DO NOT HOLD UNTIL I GIVE THE CAR GAS, POTENTIALLY RELEASING THE CAR TO MOVE BEFORE I AM READY FOR IT TO IF I AM EXPECTING THE BRAKES TO BE HELD. THIS ONLY HAPPENS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY AND COMES TO A COMPLETE STOP, BUT THE UNEXPECTED RELEASE WILL CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO START MOVING SUDDENLY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 HONDA CIVIC. AFTER REFILLING THE WINDSHIELD WIPER FLUID RESERVOIR, FLUID WAS DISCOVERED LEAKING FROM THE VEHICLE. AS A RESULT, THE RESERVOIR WAS EMPTY TWO DAYS AFTER BEING REFILLED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
WHEN FUELING THE VEHICLE IT LEAKS THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING SINCE I LEASED THE VEHICLE AND HAS PROGRESSIVELY GOTTEN WORSE IT NOW POURS OUT AND DOWN THE SIDE OF THE VEHICLE WHEN FUELING IS COMPLETE. I HAVE A VIDEO

WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH IN DAYTIME/DRY CONDITIONS/LIGHT TRAFFIC ON A STRAIGHT PORTION OF A TWO-LANE STREET, VEHICLE LOST INSTRUMENTATION (TACH, SPEEDOMETER, AND CENTRAL DISPLAY) FOR APPROX. 45-60 SECONDS. AS SYSTEM RESET, LARGE "H" WAS DISPLAYED FOR A PERIOD AND THEN INSTRUMENTATION WAS RESTORED. QUERIED SERVICE REP AT THE DEALERSHIP WHO SAID IT WASN'T A KNOWN ISSUE. OCCURRED ABOUT MAR 16. HASN'T REOCCURRED YET.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 HONDA CIVIC. WHILE DRIVING 10 MPH, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED AND THE VEHICLE STALLED. ON ANOTHER OCCASION, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED AND THE VEHICLE FAILED TO RESPOND. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO BE DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 5,000.
WHEN REFUELING THROUGH THE CAPLESS FUEL SYSTEM IN CALIFORNIA GAS SPILLS OUT WHEN THE PUMP AUTOMATICALLY SHUTS OFF. I'VE REFUELED FIVE TIMES SO FAR AND EACH TIME IT HAPPENS, NO MATTER WHAT ORIENTATION I HAVE THE PUMP OR HOW FAR IT'S PUSHED IN. POSSIBLE ELECTRIC PROBLEM. HAVE MY CIVIC EX FOR A MONTH. WHEN I WAS DRIVING ALONE ON FREEWAY, I CANNOT OPEN MOON-ROOF, LOWER THE FRONT PASSAGE SIDE WINDOW OR ADJUST THE PASSAGE SIDE RARE MIRROR. ALL OTHER STUFF WORKS FINE. AFTER STOP AT A GAS STATION, I TURN OFF THE SYSTEM COMPLETELY AND WAITING FOR AROUND 1 MINS THEN TURN THE CAR ON AGAIN. PROBLEM IS STILL THE SAME. SO I WENT TO OPEN THE PASSAGE SIDE DOOR AND PUSH THE LOWER WINDOW BUTTON, IT WORKS. THEN I BACK TO DRIVER'S SEAT EVERYTHING WORKS FINE. HAVE NO IDEA WHAT'S WRONG WITH IT. NO RAIN, NO SHOW, ON THAT DAY.
EVERY SINCE THE REPAIR OF THE RECALL THE ENGINE PULLS NOT EVEN AN HOUR AFTER THE PICK UP THE CAR HAD TO GO BACK IN THE SHOP FOR BELT REPAIR. IT MAKES NOISES AS IF SOMETHING IS LOOSE . I'VE CALLED SEVERAL TIMES TO SPEAK WITH PATRICK NEVER TO GET A CALL BACK. THE CARE IS IN MOTION. THE SMART CONNECTION DOESN'T WORK IT STOP RECOGNIZING ANY DEVICE
HI, I PURCHASED 2016 CIVIC IN DEC, 2015. I I HAVE EXPERIENCE 3 ISSUES TILL NOW 1. ELECTRONIC BRAKE - I HAVE HAD 2 INCIDENTS WHERE MY ELECTRONIC PARKING BRAKE ENGAGED AUTOMATICALLY WHILE DRIVING, LUCKILY WAS DRIVING IN CITY AT LOWER SPEEDS. BUT LAST WEEK, WAS DRIVING ON INTERSTATE, STOPPED TO FILL GAS - TURNED ENGINE ON, BRAKE WAS ENGAGED. WOULD NOT RESPOND TO THE BRAKE SWITCH. HAD TO KEEP TRYING FOR A MIN OR TWO BEFORE I WAS ABLE TO TURN IT OFF. 2. SUDDEN RESISTANCE - HAVE EXPERIENCE THIS QUITE FREQUENTLY, NEED MORE ACCELERATION TO GET THE VEHICLE INTO MOTION MAINLY AT TRAFFIC STOPS. 3. CAR RADIO - MY MODEL IS EQUIPPED WITH ALL TOUCH SENSITIVE BUTTONS. POWER BUTTON ON RADIO MOSTLY DO NOT RESPOND.
BOUGHT THE CAR IN MID FEBRUARY AND IT BEGAN TO READ "BRAKE SYSTEM PROBLEM" ONCE THE CAR WAS TURNED ON AND STATIONARY A FEW WEEKS AFTER. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP IN MARCH AND THEY "CLEARED" THE CODES AND TEST DROVE IT. IN APRIL, THE SAME ERROR APPEARED BUT NOW WITH MORE ERRORS SUCH AS "TIRE PRESSURE LOW, BRAKE SYSTEM PROBLEM, CHARGING SYSTEM PROBLEM AND ANTI LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM PROBLEM." I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP ONCE AGAIN AND THEY REPLACED THE "ABS MODULATOR" AND "CLEARED" THE CODES. ONCE AGAIN A MONTH LATER (JUNE), THE SAME ERRORS ARE APPEARING.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 HONDA CIVIC. WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE, THE TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM LIGHT ERRONEOUSLY ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, BUT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 600.
I LEASED A BRAND NEW 2016 HONDA CIVIC ON FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 26, 2016 AND DROVE OFF THE LOT WITH 5 MILES ON THE ODOMETER. ON MONDAY, FEBRUARY 29, 2016, MY CAR STARTED TO SHAKE, THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AS WELL AS OTHER INDICATORS ON THE CAR, I WAS NOT ABLE TO ACCELERATE OR PROPERLY OPERATE THE VEHICLE. FORTUNATELY, I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER AND CALLED THE DEALER WHO TOWED THE CAR TO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT. I AM BEING TOLD THAT IT IS A LOW COMPRESSION PROBLEM IN THE CYLINDERS AND THAT IT HAD TO DO WITH THE ROCKER ARM NOT THAT IT IS PART OF THIS PISTON PROBLEM. HOWEVER, I DO NOT KNOW WHAT TO THINK AT THIS POINT. THEY ARE KEEPING MY CAR UNTIL WEDNESDAY. I HAVE NOTIFIED THE MANUFACTURER TO SEE IF MY CAR WAS PART OF THE STOP SALE ORDER. I AM CONCERNED BECAUSE THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE I DRIVE MY GRANDCHILD ON A DAILY BASIS AND DO NOT WANT TO LOSE ENGINE POWER AND I WILL HAVE THIS CAR FOR 3 MORE YEARS.
I LEASED THE HONDA CIVIC 2016 AT WOODLAND HILLS HONDA. IT WAS AFTER LEASING DATE, WITHIN 24-48 HOURS TIME, I RETURNED TO THE CAR DEALERSHIP TO EXPLAIN THAT I DID NOT HAVE AN UNDERSTANDING THAT THE HONDA CIVIC 2016 DID NOT COME WITH A CD PLAYER AND ONLY OFFERED AN AUXILIARY CORD OUTLET TO WORK THE ENTIRE SOUND SYSTEM BY MY CELL PHONE. THE CAR DEALERSHIP EXPLAINED THAT THEY WERE UNWILLING TO HELP ME WITH A NEW CAR UNLESS I WANTED TO PAY MORE MONEY BUT I COULD NOT GET A NEW CAR AT THE SAME PRICE. I ARGUED FOR MONTHS WITH THE DEALERSHIP THAT BEING FORCED TO WORK THE AUDIO SYSTEM AND RUN MY MAPS FOR NAVIGATION THROUGH MY CELL PHONE POSED A SERIOUS THREAT OF DISTRACTED DRIVING. THE CAR IS BUILT IN SUCH A WAY, THAT THE DRIVER IS ONLY GIVEN AN OPTION TO USE THE CELL PHONE TO OPERATE AUDIO AND NAVIGATION. THE WAY THAT THE CAR IS BUILT, WITHOUT THE CD PLAYER, AND ONLY AN AUXILIARY CORD TO PLUG INTO MY PHONE TO WORK THE SOUND SYSTEM INTERFACE CONFLICTS WITH THE CALIFORNIA ANTI-TEXTING LAW VC 23123.5. BEING FORCED TO WORK MY SOUND SYSTEM AND MAPS FOR NAVIGATION ON MY CELL PHONE IS THE SAME SPIRIT AS TO WHAT AND WHY THIS IS AGAINST THE LAW. IT IS DISTRACTED DRIVING. SALESMEN ARE NOT CLEARLY EXPLAINING THAT YOU ARE BUYING A CAR WITH NO CD PLAYER AND YOU NEED TO WORK YOUR MUSIC FROM YOUR CELL PHONE. THERE IS ALSO MORE CONFUSION AT THE POINT OF SALE BECAUSE THERE ARE OTHER CARS THAT COME WITH BOTH THE AUX CORD AND ALSO THE CD PLAYER SUCH AS THE HONDA ACCORD 2016 PILOT FOR EXAMPLE. WHEN I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE, I BELIEVED I WAS BUYING A CAR WITH BOTH THE AUX CORD AND THE CD PLAYER. LATER, IS WHEN I LEARNED, I LEASED THE VEHICLE WITH ONLY THE AUX CORD OPTION. I REQUESTED TO END MY CONTRACT ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS AS I BELIEVED THE CAR WAS A POLICE MAGNET. I DON'T WANT TO DRIVE A CAR THAT MAKES ME DO SOMETHING TO ATTRACT OFFICERS. I BOUGHT A HONDA CIVIC EX 2016 2.0 L ON 2/17. ON 2/24, THE CAR BROKE DOWN MIDWAY (MILES DRIVEN 88). WHEN VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION, ALL KINDS OF VIDEO WARNING MESSAGES LIKE PROBLEM WITH TRANSMISSION, BRAKING SYSTEM, STEERING ETC. STARTED APPEARING ON THE CENTER DISPLAY WERE THE VEHICLE'S SPEED GETS DISPLAYED(PART OF THE TACHOMETER / SPEEDOMETER DISPLAY). I HAD TOWED THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER. NEXT DAY THE DEALER RETURNED THE VEHICLE SAYING THE CAR WAS IN PERFECT CONDITION AND NO WARNING LIGHTS ARE ON. FROM THAT DAY ONWARDS, I STARTED FACING INTERMITTENT PROBLEM WITH VEHICLE FAILING TO ACCELERATE WHICH I FEEL IS VERY UNSAFE. ON 2/26 (AT SPEED OF 62 MPH) AND AGAIN ON 3/4 (AT SPEED OF 46), WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, THE VEHICLE ALL OF A SUDDEN STARTED LOSING ACCELERATION INSPITE OF ME PUSHING THE ACCELERATOR. NOW I AM REALLY CONCERNED ABOUT MY SAFETY. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO DEALER ON 3/4 AND IT IS WITH THE DEALER FOR THE PAST 6 DAYS. TODAY (3/10), THE DEALER TOLD ME THAT THE VEHICLE IS IN PERFECT CONDITION AS THEY ARE UNABLE TO RECREATE THE PROBLEM. I AM NOT FEELING SAFE TO DRIVE THIS VEHICLE ANY MORE. I AM LUCKY THAT I DID NOT GET INTO ANY ACCIDENTS. THE DEALER IS REFUSING TO REPLACE MY VEHICLE AND HAVE ASKED ME TO TAKE BACK THE UNSAFE VEHICLE OR TRADE-IN THE VEHICLE AS AN USED VEHICLE. SINCE IT IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE IT, I AM LEFT WITH NO OTHER OPTION BUT TO BEAR THE LOSS AND TRADE IN THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE IS UNDER 200 MILES (MOST OF THE MILES ADDED DUE MY TRIPS TO DEALER AND THE MILES DRIVEN BY THE DEALER). I HAVE A CASE REGISTERED WITH AMERICAN HONDA. BUT THEY ALSO TURNED ME DOWN. I CANNOT TAKE IN ANY MORE PAIN. THERE IS A RECALL ON THIS MODEL VEHICLE (HONDA CIVIC EX 2016 2.0 L) AND WAS ALSO ISSUED A STOP OF SALE. INSPITE OF ALL THESE I WAS SOLD THE VEHICLE PUTTING MY LIFE AT RISK. JUST BECAUSE MY VIN NUMBER IS NOT IN THE LIST DOES NOT MEAN THERE IS NO PROBLEM.
I PURCHASED MY 2016 CIVIC EX IN NOVEMBER 2015. VERY SOON AFTER I NOTICED 4 NOTIFICATIONS ON THE TOUCHSCREEN REGARDING BRAKE SYSTEM FAILURE. I BROUGHT THE VEHICLE IN TO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AND WAS TOLD THOSE NOTIFICATIONS WERE FROM MANUFACTURING AND WERE MOST LIKELY NOT CLEARED DURING INTAKE WALKTHROUGH. IN JUNE I STARTED NOTICING A RELAY CLICKING NOISE COMING FROM UNDER THE STEERING COLUMN THAT PERSISTED WHILE DRIVING. IT HAPPENS WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION, OR WHEN I REMOVE MY FOOT FROM THE BRAKE PEDAL WHILE AT A STOP. AS SOON AS I DEPRESS THE BRAKE PETAL THE CLICK STOPS. AS OF TODAY I HAVE HAD MY VEHICLE IN FOR SERVICE 4 TIMES TO CORRECT THE ISSUE AND IT CONTINUES. FIRST THEY REPLACED THE BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH AND AS SOON AS I LEFT THE PARKING LOT THE VEHICLE BEGAN CLICKING. THEY REPLACED THE VSA MODULATOR AND INSISTED THE CLICKING HAD CEASED. THE CLICKING BEGAN AS SOON AS I LEFT THE DEALERSHIP. THE THIRD TIME THE SERVICE TECHS WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE AND THEREFORE NOT ABLE TO INVESTIGATE OR REPAIR. CLICKING BEGAN AS SOON AS I LEFT THE DEALERSHIP AND CONTINUED THERE AFTER. AGAIN THE 4 BRAKE FAILURE NOTIFICATIONS APPEARED ON THE TOUCHSCREEN SO I RETURNED TO THE DEALERSHIP WITH THE VEHICLE. EVERY REPAIR ATTEMPT HAS BEEN SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE BRAKING SYSTEM AND I CONTINUE TO HAVE BRAKE FAILURE NOTIFICATIONS AND AN ISSUE THE TECHS ARE UNABLE TO REPAIR. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE CONTINUING TO DRIVE MYSELF AND MY CHILDREN IN THIS VEHICLE. *TR
TODAY I FOUND OUT THAT HONDA ISSUED A RECALL OF APPROXIMATELY 45,000 MODEL YEAR 2016 CIVICS IN THE U.S. AND CANADA BECAUSE THE ENGINE CAN STALL WHILE THE CAR IS IN MOTION. THIS IS DUE TO A PISTON CLIP THAT WAS NOT INSTALLED OR MAY HAVE BEEN IMPROPERLY INSTALLED INTO THE PISTON DURING ASSEMBLY. I ALSO FOUND OUT THAT HONDA SENT A STOP SALE NOTICE TO ALL DEALERS ON FEBRUARY 2ND HOWEVER; MY 2016 CIVIC CAR WAS SOLD TO ME ON FEBRUARY 13TH FROM A HONDA DEALER LOCATED IN PHOENIX, AZ. I DID CONTACT THE DEALER AND AM TAKING MY CAR IN TOMORROW BUT I READ THAT THE PART OR INSPECTING INSTRUMENTS WON'T EVEN BE AVAILABLE UNTIL THE END OF MARCH. NOT SURE IF THE DEALER WILL EVEN BE ABLE TO INSPECT MY CAR TOMORROW BUT I FEEL VERY UNSAFE DRIVING A CAR THAT COULD POTENTIALLY HAVE A VERY SERIOUS ISSUE. CAN'T BELIEVE HONDA IS PUTTING LIVES AT RISK UNTIL THE NEW PART AND INSPECTING INSTRUMENT ARE AVAILABLE.
TOOK DELIVERY OF 2016 HONDA CIVIC 1 1/2 WEEKS AGO. CURRENTLY 350 MILES. CONTACTED AMERICAN HONDA TODAY IN REGARDS TO PISTON SNAP RING RECALL. CURRENTLY HONDA HAS NO FIX FOR VEHICLES AFFECTED. WOULD LIKE FOR HONDA TO PROVIDE ALTERNATIVE TRANSPORTATION UNTIL ENGINE CAN BE REPAIRED/REPLACED OR BUY THE VEHICLE BACK SINCE DEALERS HAVE BEEN FORCED TO STOP SELLING 2016 CIVICS. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING BRAND NEW CAR ANY LONGER. EVERY TIME I START VEHICLE HONDA IS PUTTING MY LIFE AND THE LIVES OF EVERYONE ELSE AROUND ME IN JEOPARDY!
I PURCHASED THE NEW CAR ON 11/30/2015. SINCE THEN, IT HAS BEEN DRIVEN 22 MILES. I LEARNED OF RECALL ON 2/9/16 ON NEWS. I WAS NOT CONTACTED BY DEALER OR HONDA ABOUT IT. I CONTACTED DEALER ON 2/11/16 WHO IN TURN CONTACTED HONDA. BEING A NEW CAR WITH ONLY 22 MILES ON IT (3 TRIPS--THE FIRST BEING THE DRIVE HOME FROM THE DEALERSHIP), I REQUESTED A REPLACEMENT. I BELIEVE THIS IS MORE THAN REASONABLE.. HONDA REFUSED. I WAS ADVISED TOOLS TO EXAMINE FOR THE PROBLEM AND REPAIR PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE. SINCE THE CAR CAN NOT BE FIXED AT THIS TIME, IT IS A SAFETY LIABILITY, AND HONDA WAS NOT WILLING TO DO THE RIGHT THING, I FILED A LEMON LAW COMPLAINT WITH THE OHIO ATTORNEY GENERAL. THEY WERE OF NO HELP WITH HONDA NOW REFUSING TO REFUND MY MONEY OR REPLACE THE CAR. TO DATE ( 2/25/16), I HAVE RECEIVED NO RECALL PAPERWORK FROM HONDA. THEY EXPECT TO SEND IT OUT SOMETIME IN MARCH. DRIVING THIS VEHICLE PRESENTS POTENTIAL DANGEROUS SAFETY- LIABILITY ISSUES FOR ME, MY FAMILY, PASSENGERS AND OTHERS SHOULD IT STALL, CAUSE AN ACCIDENT OR CATCH FIRE. I DID NOT BUY THIS NEW VEHICLE TO DRIVE UNDER THESE CONDITIONS. BUT SINCE HONDA ANNOUNCED THE RECALL AND STOP SALES ORDER ON 1/29/2016 UNTIL NOW, THIS IS WHAT I FACE AND WHO KNOWS HOW LONG IT WILL CONTINUE. PARTS MAY BE AVAILABLE THIS SUMMER. WHAT ARE WE SUPPOSED TO DO? THIS IS NOT THE NEW CAR EXPERIENCE I EXPECTED, AND I DID NOT BUY THE CAR TO BE INJURED, TO DAMAGE THE ENGINE, OR BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR AN ACCIDENT WITH MY INSURANCE PICKING UP THE TAB. I AM NOT THE ONLY 2016 CIVIC OWNER IN THIS SITUATION. WHY SO LONG TO NOTIFY US OF THIS DANGEROUS RECALL TO THE ENGINE NO LESS? I SEE HONDA HAS INDEMNIFIED ITSELF. WHAT ABOUT US AND OUR SAFETY? I WANT MY VEHICLE REPLACED OR A REFUND. I DID NOT BUY A NEW VEHICLE TO REPAIR IT WITH ONLY 22 MILES ON IT. THIS IS FAR FROM THE TYPICAL SAFETY RECALLS WE USUALLY SEE.

THE 2016 CIVICS WITH 2.0 LITER MOTORS HAVE AND BEEN PUT ON A "STOP SALE" ARE GOING TO BE RECALLED DUE TO THE POSSIBILITY OF ENGINE FAILURE, DAMAGE, AND EVEN POSSIBILITY OF ENGINE COMPARTMENT FIRES DUE TO POSSIBLY HAVING FAULTY PISTON SNAP RINGS. I BOUGHT ONE A WEEK BEFORE THIS "STOP SALE" AND I AM APPARENTLY GOING TO BE FORCED TO DRIVE A VEHICLE THAT MAY HAVE A POTENTIALLY LIFE THREATENING DEFECT UNTIL THEY FIX IT WHICH WILL NOT BE UNTIL THIS SUMMER ACCORDING TO HONDA CUSTOMER SERVICE. I WAS GIVEN A CLAIM NUMBER AND I HAVE REQUESTED A RENTAL FROM HONDA SO THAT I CAN STOP DRIVING THE VEHICLE UNTIL THEY MAKE SURE IT IS SAFE. "ENGINE FAILURE" ON ANY ROADS MUCH LESS A BUSY HIGHWAY IS DANGEROUS AND AN OBVIOUS MAJOR PROBLEM, AND I AM MORE CONCERNED ABOUT WHAT COULD HAPPEN TO MY TODDLER IF MY BRAND NEW HONDA CIVIC DIES ON ME OR CATCHES FIRE. WILL SOMEONE REAR END ME? WILL I BE STUCK IN TRAFFIC? WHO KNOWS. I JUST HOPE HONDA DOES SOMETHING FOR THEIR LOYAL CUSTOMERS WHO HAVE ALREADY PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE, CONSIDERING IT'S SERIOUS ENOUGH THAT IT CAN NOT BE CURRENTLY SOLD BY DEALERSHIPS UNTIL FIXED. .
I WAS SOLD A HONDA CIVIC TWO DAYS AFTER THE STOP SALE WAS ISSUED BY HONDA. IT WOULD SEEM THE DEALER IS NEGLIGENT AND SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE. HONDA IS GOING TO OPEN THESE NEW ENGINES? IT WOULD SEEM THE WHOLE CAR SHOULD BE RECALLED.

PISTON CLIP RING RECALL FROM HONDA WITH NO FIX UNTIL MID-MARCH AS TOLD BY HONDA CUSTOMER SERVICE. RECALL NOT PUBLICLY RELEASED BY HONDA AT THIS TIME. THE RESULT OF THIS PART FAILURE IS ENGINE FAILURE, AND/OR STALLING. IT IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE THIS VEHICLE WITH SUCH LOOMING AND UNRESOLVED ISSUES.

WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE AND USING THE CRUZE CONTROL IN OUR TOURING MODEL THE SYSTEMS WOULD FAIL AND THE DISPLAY MULTIPLE ERRORS LIKE STABILITY CONTROL AND COLLISION MITIGATION HAVE FAILED. TO RESET THESE WE HAD TO PULL OFF THE ROAD STOP THE ENGINE AND RESTART. WE HAVE VIDEOS OF THE DISPLAYS. IT HAPPENED AT ANY SPEED. THE PROBLEMS STARTED SHORTLY AFTER WE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. WE TOOK IT TO THE DEALER 7 TIMES AND WAS ONLY FIXED AFTER WE THREATENED TO PROCEED WE THE TEXAS LIMON LAW.
THE AC DOES NOT WORK. HAS NOT WORKED SINCE I BOUGHT IT IN 2016.

THE LANE DEPARTURE AND STEERING REQUIRED WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO LOCATE A FAILURE. THE FAILURE RECURRED. IN ADDITION, THERE WAS A THREE SECOND DELAY FOR THE ACCELERATION AND ABS. AFTER THE DELAY, THE VEHICLE SURGED WITH POWER AND ACCELERATED AT A RAPID SPEED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40.
WHEN THE ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL (ACC) AND THE VEHICLE LANE KEEPING ASSIST SYSTEM (LKAS) ARE ENGAGED SIMULTANEOUSLY, THE VEHICLE WILL REACT UNPREDICTABLY UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS. THE VEHICLE MAY BRAKE SUDDENLY, RAPIDLY DECELERATE, AND QUICKLY DEPART THE HIGHWAY WHEN APPROACHING EXIT RAMPS. THE SITUATION OCCURS DURING DAYLIGHT AND NIGHTTIME HOURS WITH CLEAN CAMERAS AND RADAR WINDOW. DRIVER RESPONSE TIME IS TOO SLOW TO COUNTERACT THE EVENT. THE VEHICLE MAY SLOW BY 10-15 MPH AND DEPART THE HIGHWAY BEFORE THE DRIVER IS ABLE TO RESUME CONTROL. DURING 300 MILES OF HIGHWAY DRIVING, THE VEHICLE DID THIS TWICE. A REAR END COLLISION WAS NARROWLY AVOIDED IN ONE CASE.
THE TRUNK AND GLOVE COMPARTMENT DO NOT LOCK...THEIR IS NO WAY TO SAFELY VALET PARK THE VEHICLE AND LEAVE ANYTHING IN THE TRUNK OR THE GLOVE COMPARTMENT. THIS MAY NOT BE A DRIVING SAFETY ISSUE BUT IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE NON THE LESS. HONDA MUST HAVE LOST THEIR MINDS WHEN THEY REDESIGNED THE VEHICLE. IT MAKES ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE NOT BE ABLE TO LOCK THE TRUNK.
AUDIO SYSTEM IS NOT PROPERLY INITIALIZING ABOUT 80% OF THE TIME YOU START THE CAR. WHILE MUCH OF THIS IS SIMPLY INCONVENIENT (NO SOUND FOR THE RADIO) IT AFFECTS SAFETY AS THERE IS NO SOUND FOR THE BUILT IN GPS FORCING YOU TO LOOK AT THE GPS FOR NAVIGATIONAL PROMPTS VERSUS AUDIO PROMPTS AND THE BLUETOOTH SYSTEM DOES NOT FUNCTION SO DURING INCOMING OR OUTCOMING CALLS INSTEAD OF USING BLUETOOTH HANDS FREE YOU MUST PICK UP YOUR PHONE WHILE DRIVING WHICH IS ILLEGAL IN MANY STATES AND SWITCH FROM THE CAR MODE TO THE HANDSET MODE AND THEN USE ONE HAND TO HOLD THE PHONE TO TALK, FURTHER DISTRACTING FROM SAFE DRIVING. THIS APPEARS TO AFFECT THE TOURING MODEL ONLY, HONDA IS AWARE OF THE ISSUE. HAPPENS IN ALL DRIVING CONDITIONS BUT IS RANDOM (ABOUT 80% OF THE TIME AUDIO DOES NOT WORK). HONDA CASE #04338617 WAS OPENED. THEY SAID TO JUST WAIT FOR A FIX, HAVE OWNED CAR FOR 30 DAYS NOW (NEW PURCHASE). DEALER HAS NO SOLUTION EITHER.
