THE AIR CONDITIONING ON MY 2003 HONDA CR-V SUDDENLY BEGAN TO BLOW WARM AIR AND MAKE NOISE UNDER THE HOOD. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER WHERE I PURCHASED THE CAR AND THEY SAID IT WAS MY COMPRESSOR AND REPLACED BOTH THE CLUTCH AND COMPRESSOR FOR $1400. THE SERVICE TAG SAYS "COMPRESSOR HAS AN INTERNAL FAILURE REPL COMPRESSOR ASSY" SO THIS FAILURE WAS NOT DUE TO ROAD DEBRIS. *TR
I OWN A 2003 HONDA CR-V WITH ONLY 54,400 MILES AND THE A/C JUST STOPPED WORKING. I JUST TOOK MY CAR TO MIDAS SHOP TO GET A/C RECHARGE. I WAS TOLD AFTER INSPECTION THAT THERE IS A LEAK ON THE A/C COMPRESSOR. THE COST TO REPAIR WILL BE CLOSE TO $1400. *TR
A/C COMPRESSOR ISSUE, COMPRESSOR EXPLODES SENDING METAL FRAGMENTS THROUGH OUT REST OF SYSTEM CORRUPTING ENTIRE A/C SYSTEM. DEALER LOOKED AT IT AND KNEW PRETTY WELL RIGHT OFF WHOLE A/C SYSTEM HAD TO REPLACED. *TR
AIR CONDITIONER FAILED TO FUNCTION REQUIRING A $3,875.00 REPAIR. UPON INVESTIGATION HONDA KNOWS ABOUT THIS DEFECTIVE PART BUT REFUSED TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 HONDA CRV. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE KEYLESS DOOR ENTRY WAS DEFECTIVE. IN ADDITION, THE KEYLESS REMOTE WOULD FAIL SPORADICALLY AND WOULD NOT ALLOW HER TO UNLOCK THE DOORS. ON ONE OCCASION, A SMALL CHILD WAS LOCKED INSIDE THE VEHICLE AND SHE WAS UNABLE TO UNLOCK THE DOORS WITH THE KEYLESS REMOTE. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE KEYLESS REMOTE WAS NOT THE PROBLEM BUT THE DESIGN OF THE VEHICLE. THERE WERE NO REPAIRS MADE TO THE VEHICLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000 AND THE APPROXIMATE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 77,000.
PURCHASED 2003 HONDA CRV IN FEB 2003. CLUTCH SNAPPED OFF AC COMPRESSOR APRIL 2005 - COVERED BY WARRANTY. FEBRUARY 2009 AC COMPRESSOR IMPLODED SENDING METAL SHAVINGS INTO ENGINE. ESTIMATE TO REPAIR $3600. WAITING FOR DEALERSHIP TO ADVISE IF THEY WILL PAY FOR ALL OR PART UNDER "GOODWILL". *TR
IN 2003 , WE BOUGHT A NEW HONDA CRV. THE VEHICLE HAS PERFORMED WONDERFULLY. WE TOOK IT IN FOR ITS 110,000 MILE SERVICE AND WE WERE TOLD THE AIR CONDITIONER WAS INOPERABLE. THE PUMP WAS SEIZED. WE ASKED IF THIS WAS COMMON AND THE SERVICE MANAGER SAID THAT IT'S " A HIGHER INCIDENCE THAN HONDA LIKES." I WENT ONLINE AND WAS APPALLED AT THE NUMBER OF IDENTICAL COMPLAINTS. I HEARD A GROWLING NOISE IN OCTOBER (THE LAST TIME WE USED THE AC) WHICH WAS THE AC PUMP SEIZING UP. THIS IS EPIDEMIC ACCORDING TO THE ONLINE FORUMS (I SEARCHED 'HONDA AC PROBLEMS' AND WAS OVERWHELMED) AND NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED. THE DEALERSHIP QUOTED $3000+- TO FIX IT. *TR
THE A/C COMPRESSOR OF MY 2003 HONDA CRV LOCKED UP AND IT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. THE FAILURE OCCUR AT ABOUT 64,000 MILES. *TR
WITHIN THE PAST YEAR I HAVE HAD BOTH FANS GO OUT BECAUSE THE ENTIRE SYSTEM WAS "CONTAMINATED." ALSO, THE FAN UNDER THE DASH (THE BLOWER) HAS QUIT AND I NEEDED A NEW RELAY SWITCH. THEY SPLIT THE COST OF THE TWO FANS IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT BUT THEY SAID THE FAN UNDER THE DASH WAS SEPARATE. ALTOGETHER IT COST ME OVER 1800 DOLLARS. NOW I FIND OUT THAT THERE HAVE BEEN 35 COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM IN THE 2003 CRV. I THINK IT IS A FACTORY PROBLEM AND THEY SHOULD HAVE A RECALL.....AND GIVE ME BACK SOME OF THAT MONEY. 35 COMPLAINTS?? ISN'T THAT ENOUGH TO SIGNAL A RECALL?? *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 HONDA CR-V. THE CONTACT HAS BEEN EXPERIENCING FAILURES WITH THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR LOCK FOR SIX WEEKS. WHENEVER SHE PLACES THE KEY INTO THE LOCK, IT JAMS, WILL NOT INSERT ALL THE WAY, AND TAKES NUMEROUS ATTEMPTS TO UNLOCK THE DOOR. IN ORDER TO OPEN THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR, SHE MUST OPEN THE PASSENGER DOOR AND UNLOCK IT FROM THE INSIDE. THE DEALER STATED THAT THIS WAS A VERY COMMON FAILURE THAT HONDA HAS NOT YET RECALLED. THEY FURTHER STATED THAT THE LOCK ASSEMBLY WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT BELIEVES THAT IF THE FAILURE IS SO COMMON, A RECALL SHOULD HAVE BEEN ISSUED. THE FAILURE STILL PERSISTS AND THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY IN HER POSSESSION. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 70,000.
2003 MODEL HONDA CRV ENTIRE A/C SYSTEM FAILED AT 60,000 MILES, HONDA AMERICA REFUSED TO COVER THE REPAIR COST. *TR
I HAVE A 2003 HONDA CR-V AND THE A/C COMPRESSOR DIED AFTER SOME RATTLING SOUNDS WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY. THE DEALER WANTS $3200 TO FIX IT. MY RESEARCH ON LINE AND IN TALKING TO REPAIR SHOP TELLS ME THIS IS NOT AN UNUSUAL PROBLEM. I AM TOLD MULTIPLE PARTS HAVE TO BE REPLACED WHEN THE COMPRESSOR GOES IN THIS MODEL. THIS SEEMS TO BE A DESIGN FLAW. I FEEL HONDA SHOULD HAVE TO RECALL AND PAY FOR THIS DESIGN FLAW. *TR

A LOUD RATTLING NOISE SUDDENLY STARTED IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT WHILE DRIVING AND THE AIR CONDITIONER STOPPED COOLING. TOOK THE CAR TO HONDA AND PROBLEM WAS DIAGNOSED AS A FAILED A/C COMPRESSOR WHICH CONTAMINATED THE ENTIRE SYSTEM. ESTIMATED COST OF REPAIR WAS $3500. SERVICE ADVISER CALLED IT THE "BLACK DEATH". CAR HAS BEEN DRIVEN ONLY 23,000 MILES. HONDA AGREED TO PAY 90% OF THE REPAIR COSTS AS PART OF THEIR "GOOD WILL WARRANTY" . *TR

I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER TODAY AND THEY INFORMED ME THAT THE A/C COMPRESSOR HAD "BLOWN UP" AND CONTAMINATED THE ENTIRE COOLING SYSTEM W/ METAL FRAGMENTS. TOTAL COST TO REPAIR = $3200.00. ACCORDING TO THE FOLLOWING FORUM THERE ARE NEARLY 400 OTHER CR-V OWNERS WHO HAVE REPORTED EXACTLY THE SAME SCENARIO. AIR CONDITION COMPRESSOR FAILED AND DESTROYED THE ENTIRE AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM. TWO OXYGEN SENSORS FOR THE EMISSIONS PART OF THE VEHICLE FAILED. TRANSMISSION SENSOR FAILED. ENGINE LIGHT STAYS ON. HONDA 2003 CRV *TR
MY AC SYSTEM WENT OUT AT ABOUT 80,000 MI. THE HONDA DEALER SAID BOTH FANS HAD BURNT OUT AND THE WHOLE SYSTEM WAS CONTAMINATED. THEY SPLIT THE COST WITH ME BUT IT STILL COST ME $1600. I ASKED IF THERE WAS A RECALL AND HE SAID THERE WASN'T BUT THE NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS I AM SEEING MAKE ME FEEL THAT HONDA SHOULD TAKE MORE RESPONSIBILITY. THE SYSTEM FAILED. I DID NOTHING TO CAUSE IT. I FEEL CHEATED AND AM NOW LOOKING AT TOYOTA FOR A REPLACEMENT CAR. *TR

TRAVELING ON INTERSTATE WITH VEHICLE SET ON CRUISE-CONTROL AT 65 MPH; CRUISE-CONTROL MALFUNCTIONED LOSING ALL VEHICLE SPEED IN HEAVY TRAFFIC. DEALERSHIP SAID THAT THE CRUISE-CONTROL UNIT PHYSICALLY SEPARATED FROM IT'S MOUNTING, THAT THE VEHICLE HAD LOW MILEAGE AND INCIDENT SHOULD NEVER HAVE HAPPENED. INDICATED THAT THERE WERE OTHER INCIDENTS OF THIS NATURE WITH OTHER VEHICLE'S, HOWEVER, NO RECALLS. VEHICLE OUT OF WARRANTY, DEALERSHIP STATED THEY WOULD CHECK AND POSSIBLY BUY THE PART IF I PAID FOR THE LABOR. TWO YEARS LATER, STILL NO ANSWER FROM THE DEALERSHIP. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 HONDA CRV. WHILE DRIVING BETWEEN 25-30 MPH, THE COMPRESSOR SEIZED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO CONTINUE TO HER DESTINATION. THE DEALER STATED THAT DUE TO A LACK OF LUBRICATION, THE COMPRESSOR SEIZED AND CAUSED DAMAGE TO THE AIR CONDITIONING UNIT. SHE WAS FIRST INFORMED THAT THIS WAS AN ISOLATED FAILURE WITH VEHICLES FROM ANOTHER COUNTRY WITH SPECIFIC VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION NUMBERS. HER VEHICLE IS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY; HOWEVER, THE DEALER IS WILLING TO PAY FOR HALF OF THE REPAIR. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 73,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 72,000.

THEY RECOMMENDED TO REPLACE THE COMPRESSOR, CLUTCH, COIL SET AND CONDENSER ALL. I CHECKED EDMONDS.COM AND HONDASUV.COM AND FOUND OUT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH 2002-2005 HONDA CR-V. CALLED HONDA, THEY WILL NOT TAKE ANY RESPONSIBILITY. *TR
MY WIFE'S 2003 CR-V HAS HAD 3 COMPRESSORS EXPLODE. THE FIRST TIME WAS AT 17,000 MILES, THE SECOND WAS AT 41,000 MILES, AND THE THIRD WAS 3 WEEKS AGO AT AROUND 65,000. THE ENTIRE SYSTEM WAS REPLACED 2 TIMES BY HONDA AT NO COST (ONCE UNDER WARRANTY AND THE SECOND TIME AS A 'GOODWILL' GESTURE). THOUGH THEY DENY ANY KNOWLEDGE OF A HISTORY OF AIR CONDITIONER PROBLEMS WITH CR-VS, THEY HAVE AGREED TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE SYSTEM THIS THIRD TIME FOR ONLY THE COST OF LABOR ($699). *TR

MY 2003 CRV WAS MAKING A STRANGE FAINT SQUEALING SOUND. SHORTLY AFTER THAT THE AIR CONDITIONER STOPPED WORKING, AND WAS RUNNING FUNNY. I TOOK IT STRAIGHT TO MY MECHANIC. HE HAD TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE UNIT, AT AN OVERALL COST OF 1,200.00 A WEEK LATER THE SAME THING HAPPENED TO MY FRIEND WITH HER CRV AND AS I BEGAN TO SEARCH ON LINE, IT HAS HAPPENED TO 100'S OF OTHERS WITH THE '03 AND '04 CRV'S. I AM ANGRY THAT HONDA HASN'T ISSUED A RECALL AFTER COVERING THE COST FOR MOST OF THESE PERSONS. CLEARLY THEY ARE AWARE OF THE CONSISTENT PROBLEM WITH THE AIR COMPRESSOR. I AM CURRENTLY WAITING TO HEAR BACK FROM HONDA. *TR
THIS IS IN CONNECTION WITH THE AIR CONDITIONER COMPRESSOR. HEAD A CLICKING NOISE WHEN I PULLED INTO MY DRIVE WAY. OPENED THE HOOD AND NOTICED THAT THE SOUND WAS COMING FROM THE COMPRESSOR SECTION. I TURNED OFF THE SWITCH TO THE AIR CONDITIONER AND THE CLICKING NOISE STOPPED. I TURNED IT BACK ON AND THE COMPRESSOR BLEW UP WITH WHITE STEAM. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER THE FOLLOWING DAY AND WAS TOLD THE COMPRESSOR WAS CRACKED AND THAT I NEED A NEW COMPRESSOR, REPLACED WITH THE CLUTCH, COIL FILTER TO THE TUNE OF $1502 PLUS TAX. I WENT ON THE INTERNET TO CHECK ON THIS ISSUE AND FOUND A LOT OF IDENTICAL COMPLAINS DEALING WITH THE HONDA CRV 2003 AND 2004 SERIES. MINE IS 2003. ALTHOUGH THERE MANY OTHER LINKS, THE ONE I NOTED WAS TOPIX.COM. EVERYONE COMPLAINED ABOUT IDENTICAL PROBLEMS AND DIAGNOSTICS AND COST. AT THE MONET HONDA AMERICA HAS DECIDED TO SHARE THE REPAIR COST WITH ME WHICH I HAVE ACCEPTED. BUT IT SEEMS THAT THIS IS AN OCCURRING ISSUE. MY AIR CONDITIONING IN MY '03 CRV STOPPED COOLING. I TOOK IT IN AND AFTER AUTHORIZING REPAIRS FOUND OUT THAT BOTH FANS HAD QUIT AND THE WHOLE SYSTEM WAS CONTAMINATED. MARCH 2006 AND JUNE 2008, THE EVAPORATION CANISTER ASSY ON OUR 2003 HONDA CRV SUV HAS COME OFF THE VEHICLE WHILE DRIVING. ASSY IS INSUFFICIENTLY SECURED AND EXCESSIVELY EXPOSED. ASSY HAS BEEN REDESIGNED ON LATER MODELS TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM, BUT HONDA REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE ISSUE. REPAIR IS $1000 EACH TIME. SEARCH OF THE INTERNET SHOWS PEOPLE COMPLAINING THAT THE ASSY COMES OFF GOING OVER RR TRACKS, POTHOLES, DRIVEWAY ENTRANCES, OR RUTTED ROADS. THIS VEHICLE IS SOLD AS A SPORT UTILITY VEHICLE! *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 HONDA CRV. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE LOCKS ON EACH DOOR, EXCLUDING THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE DOOR, HAD FAILED AND THEY COULD ONLY BE OPENED FROM THE INSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. DEALER INDICATED REPAIR WOULD REQUIRE REPLACEMENT OF COMPLETE SYSTEM DUE TO CONTAMINANTS - AS I LIVE IN THE NORTH NOT SURE THIS IS WORTH IT. DEFINITELY A COMMON PROBLEM IN CRV'S ALTHOUGH MY DEALER FEIGNED IGNORANCE. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO HAVE THE TIRE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC ON A SEPARATE OCCASION FOR IDENTICAL FAILURES TO THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE TIRE. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS CONTRIBUTED TO CRACKS IN THE WELDED AREA OF THE WHEELS. THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE TIRE WAS REPLACED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNAVAILABLE AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 79,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THE DIFFERENTIAL FLUID NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 53,352 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 53,000. WHEN RELEASING PRESSURE OFF THE BRAKE WITHOUT APPLYING PRESSURE TO THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, THE VEHICLE DRAMATICALLY LUNGED FORWARD. SHE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A LOCAL MECHANIC AND THEY STATED THAT THE THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR CAUSED THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER DID NOT PROVIDE ANY ASSISTANCE. THE POWERTRAIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 74,500.
I HAD STOPPED FOR A BLOCKED ROADWAY ON THE INTERSTATE. ONCE I COULD GO, I ACCELERATED. MY VEHICLE CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE OUT OF CONTROL, REACHING OVER 90 MPH. I PUMPED THE BRAKE, GAS, AND WAS UNABLE TO BRING THE VEHICLE TO A LOWER SPEED FOR OVER A MILE ON THE INTERSTATE. I CHECKED THE FLOOR MAT AND ENSURED THAT NOTHING WAS IN THE WAY. LUCKILY, TRAFFIC HAD BEEN STOPPED PREVIOUS TO THE OUT OF CONTROL ACCELERATION. I TOOK IT TO HONDA AND REPORTED THE PROBLEM. THEY SAID THE THROTTLE CABLE WAS JUNKY AND I PAID TO FIX IT. I REPORTED THE INCIDENT THEN. TODAY MY VEHICLE ACCELERATED OUT OF CONTROL WHILE ON THE INTERSTATE. I WAS UNABLE TO BRING THE VEHICLE BACK DOWN TO SPEED. I APPLIED THE BRAKE, EMERGENCY BRAKE, PUT IT IN NEUTRAL, AND THEN TOOK THE KEY OUT. *TR

VIBRATION AT SPEEDS OF APPROXIMATELY 42, 62 AND 72 MPH, ESPECIALLY WHEN ROAD IS CURVING TO THE LEFT, THAT MAKES THE ENTIRE VEHICLE VIBRATE, SO THAT IT IS UNDRIVABLE. CAPITOL HONDA REPLACED TIRES WITH OTHER TIRES AND VIBRATION WAS NOT FOUND. WHEN ORIGINAL TIRES REINSTALLED, VIBRATION RETURNS. HONDA DEALER BELIEVES THAT THE IMBALANCE IS IN THE TIRES. HAVE TAKEN TIRES BACK TO AMERICA'S TIRE TWICE FOR RE-BALANCE AND THEY HAVE ADDED WEIGHTS EACH TIME, BY ABOUT 1/2 OZ. *TR
ON TWO OCCASIONS MY 2003 HONDA CRV BEGAN TO ACCELERATE ON ITS OWN FOLLOWING AN INITIAL ACCELERATION AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. THE CRUISE CONTROL BUTTON WAS ON, BUT HAD NOT BEEN ACTIVATED. IT CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE AND WOULD NOT RESPOND TO BRAKING, TURNING THE CRUISE CONTROL BUTTON OFF, ETC. FOR EIGHT FULL SECONDS THE CAR WAS NOT UNDER MY SPEED CONTROL ON THE HIGHWAY. THE CERTIFIED HONDA DEALER SAID THERE WAS A NEWS BULLETIN ABOUT IT ON HONDA'S WEB SITE (BUT WOULD NOT SHARE IT WITH ME) AND TOLD ME TO GO TO THE HONDA DEALER WHERE I PURCHASED THE CAR. I TOOK IT IN AND THEY CLEANED THE THROTTLE, FAILED TO SHARE ANY BULLETINS WITH ME, STATING THESE INFO WAS FOR THE DEALERS ONLY. I WAS TOLD THAT THE ACCELERATION WAS DUE TO CRUISE CONTROL PROBLEMS IN THESE 2003 CRV'S AND IT IS A MISREAD WITH THE COMPUTER AND THE PNEUMATIC SYSTEM. THERE WAS NO INDICATION THAT THE PROBLEM WAS FIXED, BUT TO TAKE IT TO THEM AGAIN IF I FELT IT WOULD BE A PROBLEM. I CONTACTED HONDA DIRECTLY TO FILE A COMPLAINT. THEY WOULD NOT OFFER ANY INFORMATION AND STATED THAT SINCE IT TECHNICALLY WAS NOT A RECALL, THEY DID NOT HAVE TO SHARE ANY INFORMATION WITH ME NOR DID THEY HAVE TO PAY FOR IT. I WOULD LIKE FOR THE GENERAL PUBLIC TO KNOW ABOUT IT IN ORDER TO SAVE LIVES. I WAS BLESSED TO HAVE NARROWLY DIVERTED DISASTER. I HAVE LOST TRUST IN THE RECALL PROCESS. THIS NEEDS TO REACH THE CONSUMER IN SOME FORM. *TR
MY HONDA CRV EX 2003 BRAKES LIGHTS FAIL. THE ONLY LIGHT FOR BRAKING IS THE THIRD LIGHT. THIS HAS OCCURRED 3 OR 4 TIMES IN THE PAST 4 YEARS AND HAPPENED AGAIN THIS WEEK. I AM AFRAID I WILL BE IN AN ACCIDENT BECAUSE SOMEONE WILL NOT NOTICE THE THIRD LIGHT WHEN I BRAKE. THE DEALER HAS REPLACED THE BULBS BUT THE ISSUE CONTINUES. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 HONDA CR-V. THE VEHICLE IS EQUIPPED WITH A 1982 HONDA SILVERWING AIR CONDITIONER COMPRESSOR. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE MADE A STRANGE SOUND, THE AIR CONDITIONER STOPPED BLOWING COOL AIR, AND THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO DECELERATE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A PRIVATE MECHANIC AND THEY STATED THAT THE AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM WAS FILLED WITH FREON, WHICH CAUSED THE COMPRESSOR TO FREEZE AND SEIZE THE ENGINE. HONDA INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT SHE WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ONLY THE COST OF THE PARTS, NOT THE LABOR. HONDA ALSO ADVISED HER NOT TO USE THE AIR CONDITIONER. THE SERIAL AND PART NUMBERS FOR THE COMPRESSOR WERE UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 98,618 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 98,550.

THE INSPECTOR STATED THAT THE REAR PADS HAD SEPARATED FROM THE PLATE IN WHICH THEY WERE ATTACHED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE PADS WERE PURCHASED WITH THE VEHICLE. SUDDEN ACCELERATION ALSO OCCURRED WITH MY 2003 HONDA CRV ON AT LEAST TWO OCCASIONS IN 2007. BOTH TIMES I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER SHIP AND WAS TOLD THEY WERE UNABLE TO FIND ANY PROBLEM. THE SECOND INCIDENT ALMOST CAUSED ME TO HIT SOME ONE EVEN THOUGH I APPLIED THE BRAKES WITH BOTH FEET AND DAMAGED THE BRAKES IN THE PROCESS. I WAS TERRIFIED TO DRIVE THE CAR, NOT KNOWING WHEN THE SUDDEN ACCELERATION AND LUNGING WOULD HAPPEN. I RETURNED TO THE DEALERSHIP AND DEMANDED TO FIND THE CAUSE OR I WOULD REFUSE TO DRIVE A CAR THAT IS POSSESSED. I WAS NEVER GIVEN A SATISFACTORY EXPLANATION OF THE CAUSE AND WAS JUST TOLD IT WAS SOMETHING WITH THE COMPUTER. I HAD NO PROBLEM SINCE, BUT IT IS ALWAYS IN THE BACK OF MY MIND, ESPECIALLY SINE THE TOYOTA ISSUES WITH SUDDEN ACCELERATION. I DO NOT BELIEVE I AM THE ONLY PERSON WHO HAD THIS PROBLEM .*TR
