THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNAVAILABLE.
TL* TAKATA RECALL. THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 HONDA CR-V. AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED, THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V029000 (AIR BAGS); HOWEVER, THE PART TO DO THE REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR MORE THAN A MONTH FOR THE LOCAL HONDA DEALER (CLOVIS CA HONDA NORTH 559-297-1000) TO FIX MY AIR BAG. THEY SAY THE PARTS HAVE BEEN ORDERED BUT I HAVEN'T HEARD FROM THEM AS OF MAY 19, 2015. I HAVE CALLED A COUPLE OF TIMES AND THE SAY PARTS HAVE NOT COME IN.

ON MAY 7, 2015 MY HONDA DEALER ORDERED A REPLACEMENT AIRBAG INFLATOR FOR MY CRV AS PART OF A RECALL FOR FAULTY AND POTENTIALLY LETHAL AIRBAG INFLATORS IN HONDA CRV'S. BY JULY 27 THE PART WAS STILL ON BACKORDER AND THEY COULD NOT TELL ME WHEN IT MIGHT ARRIVE. A RECALL LETTER ARRIVED ON JULY 27 SO I CALLED HONDA AUTOMOBILE CUSTOMER SERVICE ON JULY 27 AND MICHAEL SAID SOMEONE WOULD GET BACK TO ME BY JULY 28. NO SURPRISE, NO PHONE CALL WAS RECEIVED. THIS HAS GONE ON FAR TOO LONG FOR A POTENTIALLY FATAL ISSUE.
THE GLASS IN THE LEFT SIDE MIRROR FELL OUT, ADHESIVE FAILURE. LAST YEAR THE RIGHT SIDE MIRROR GLASS FELL OUT DUE TO THE SAME PROBLEM. THE DEALER LAUGHED IT OFF SAYING THIS IS VERY RARE. HAVING BOTH OF MY MIRRORS FALL OFF IS NOT FUNNY AND IS DANGEROUS AS I CANNOT SEE TO CHANGE LANES. *TR

REGARDING THE HONDA AIRBAG RECALL: #1. I NEVER RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FROM HONDA, ALTHOUGH WHEN I ENTERED MY VIN NUMBER ON THEIR RECALL WEBSITE, IT SAID THERE WAS AN OPEN RECALL. #2. I HAVE SPENT HOURS ON HOLD WHEN I CALL THE LISTED HONDA NUMBER (888-234-2138). I HAVE NEVER RECEIVED A CALL BACK FROM MY CASE MANAGER, WHOSE NAME APPARENTLY IS "ONYE." WHEN I ASK TO SPEAK TO A SUPERVISOR, I AM PLACED ON HOLD INDEFINITELY, OR THEY TAKE A MESSAGE BUT NEVER RETURN MY CALL. MY CASE NUMBER IS N032015-04-1601-1863. I RECEIVED A SAFETY RECALL NOTICE FROM HONDA STATING THAT THE AIR BAGS FOR 2002-2006 CRVS WERE BEING RECALLED SO I CALLED NORM REEVES HONDA SUPERSTORE IN IRVINE, CA IN APRIL 2015 TO SCHEDULE A SERVICE APPOINTMENT. AT THE TIME NORM REEVES IRVINE STATED THAT THE AIRBAGS WERE ON BACK ORDER AND THAT I WOULD BE CONTACTED WHEN THEY CAME IN FOR REPLACEMENT. I HAVE NOT HEARD FROM THEM SINCE (NOW END OF AUGUST 2015) WHICH IS ABOUT 4 MONTHS SINCE I CALLED TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT AND PUT MY NAME ON A WAITING LIST.

MY COMPLAINT IS AGAINST HONDA RE THEIR RECALL PRACTICES/DEALER KNOWLEDGE: ACCORDING TO THE HONDA WEBSITE, MY VEHICLE AIRBAG IS TO BE INSPECTED AND REPLACED. I ATTEMPTED TO SCHEDULE THIS SERVICE AT TWO DEALERS IN ALBUQUERQUE, NM (PERFECTION HONDA AND GARCIA HONDA. I WAS TOLD IT WOULD TAKE 2 VISITS - ONE TO INSPECT AND ONE TO REPLACE PART IF NEEDED. YESTERDAY I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO GARCIA HONDA - THEIR 'MECHANIC/OIL CHANGER' BROKE THE HEAD OFF THE 'BREAKAWAY SCREW' WHILE UNDOING IT. AFTER 3 HOURS IN WHICH THEY SUPPOSEDLY 'TAPPED' THE SCREW, THEY TOLD ME TO BRING THE VEHICLE BACK IN A WEEK AND THERE WAS A 50/50 CHANCE THEY WOULD NEED TO REPLACE THE AIRBAG - BUT THEY DIDN'T KNOW. NOW, I AM UNSURE TO EVEN DRIVE THE VEHICLE - SUFFICE TO SAY, IF THERE IS ANY DAMAGE TO MYSELF OR PASSENGER, THERE WILL BE A MAJOR LAWSUIT AGAINST HONDA AND PARTICULARLY GARCIA HONDA! *TR

I PURCHASED A NEW 2015 HONDA CRV EXL. PICKED IT UP ON EVENING OF 2/18/15. I DROVE IT BACK AND FORTH TO WORK, APPROX. 30 MILES ROUND TRIP THE NEXT TWO DAYS. I NOTICED VIBRATION AND FELT SOMETHING WASN'T RIGHT. THE CAR SAT IN MY DRIVEWAY THE WEEKEND DUE TO BAD WEATHER. I DROVE TO WORK MONDAY AND TUESDAY AND THE VIBRATION WAS TERRIBLE. I DRIVE IN VERY SLOW MOVING TRAFFIC. WHILE ACCELERATING, IT FEELS LIKE A BUMPY RIDE ON UNEVEN ROADWAY. THIS MAKES ME FEEL VERY UNSAFE! ESPECIALLY WHILE GOING AROUND CURVES. WHILE STOPPED AT RED LIGHTS, THE STEERING WHEEL AND SEATS VIBRATE. EXACTLY ONE WEEK FROM PICKING UP MY VEHICLE, I'M BACK AT THE DEALERSHIP WITH THE SERVICE MANAGER DRIVING MY CAR AND EXPERIENCING MY CONCERNS. I BROUGHT THE CAR BACK IN AGAIN FOR THE SERVICE MANAGER TO CAPTURE THE VIBRATION ON VIDEO TO BE SENT TO HONDA. I CONTACTED HONDA OF AMERICA AND NOW HAVE A CASE MANAGER. ASKED ME TO CALL MY LOCAL DEALER TO SET UP AN APPOINTMENT. CALLED THE DEALER TO SET UP AN APPOINTMENT IN OCTOBER 2014 AND WAS TOLD THAT THE DEALER IS BOOKED TILL JANUARY. SO THEY GAVE ME THE AVAILABLE EARLIEST DATE OF JANUARY 27TH 2015. I RECEIVED A CALL DAY BEFORE THE APPOINTMENT STATING THAT THE PARTS FOR CRV AND PILOT ARE IN SHORT SUPPLY, SO WE WILL HAVE TO CANCEL YOUR APPOINTMENT AND WILL CALL YOU ONCE THEY ARE AVAILABLE. NOT SURE IF THAT WAS TRUE ABOUT THE SHORT SUPPLY OF PARTS. I ASKED THEM IF THAT IS COMING FROM HONDA OR FROM THE DEALER. THE LADY STATED THAT SHE IS JUST A WORKER AND SHE HAD BEEN TOLD TO INFORM ME BY HER MANAGER AT THE DEALERSHIP. I ASKED HER IF I COULD TALK TO THE MANAGER AND SHE SAID THAT HE IS BUSY AND UNAVAILABLE. I ASKED HER WHEN CAN I EXPECT A CALL OR DOES SHE KNOW WHEN THE PARTS WILL COME IN. SHE HAD NO CLUE AND SAID THAT THEY DON'T KNOW AND ONCE THE PARTS ARE HERE SHE WILL CALL US TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT AND THAT COULD AGAIN BE COUPLE OF MONTHS BEFORE THEY CAN GET ME IN AS THEY ARE VERY BUSY WITH THE RECALL. I ASKED HER IF SHE COULD SEND ME AN EMAIL TO CONFIRM THE CANCELLATION AND STATING THAT THE PARTS ARE IN SHORT SUPPLY, BUT SHE REPLIED IN NEGATIVE AND SAID THAT THEY DON'T DO THAT AND WILL CALL ME WHEN THE PARTS ARE IN. THAT WAS THE END OF THE CONVERSATION AND SHE APOLOGIZED FOR THE DELAY AND SAID THEY WILL INFORM ME WHENEVER THERE ARE ANY UPDATES. SO TODAY IN FEB 2ND , 2015 AND NO CALL AND NO EMAIL. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME IN THE PAST FOUR MONTHS THAT MY FRONT DRIVER SIDE HEADLIGHT HAS BURNT OUT. THIS IS ONE OF MANY ELECTRICAL ISSUES WITH THIS VEHICLE (2005 CR-V) INCLUDING THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT (O2 SENSOR) AND REAR PASSENGER SIDE BRAKE LIGHT AND SEVERAL INTERIOR LIGHTS AS WELL. THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM OF THIS CAR, BUT HONDA SEEMS NOT TO CARE AND WILL NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. PLEASE HELP! *TR

NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED AND A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT AFTER RESTARTING THE ENGINE THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED UNINTENDED ACCELERATION A SECOND TIME. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S HOME. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.

Airbag light on , recall notice
AFTER MAKING AN APPOINTMENT WITH VOYLES HONDA IN MARIETTA, GA FOR DEC. 13, 2014 TO HAVE THE RECALLED AIRBAGS CHANGED, THE DEALERSHIP THEN INFORMED ME AFTER SERVICE BEGAN THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER-SIDE AIRBAG WAS NOT IN STOCK. SINCE THEN, I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO GET THE PASSENGER-SIDE AIRBAG CHANGED. THE DEALERSHIP WOULD NOT PROVIDE ANY INFORMATION AS TO WHEN IT WILL BE IN STOCK. IT'S BEEN 2 1/2 MONTHS, AND I CANNOT HAVE ANY PASSENGERS IN THE FRONT, WHICH IS A HARDSHIP. *TR

2005 CR-V. CONSUMER WOULD LIKE HONDA TO INFORM HIM IF HIS CAR HAS TAKATA-MANUFACTURED AIRBAGS. *TA
THE PASSENGER SIDE HEADLIGHT WENT OUT IN THE MIDDLE OF OCTOBER. WHEN I WENT TO REPLACE THE BULB I NOTICED THE ELEMENT WAS NOT BROKEN INSIDE THE BULB. AT THAT POINT I TOOK IT INTO THE DEALERSHIP. THE MECHANIC TOOK THE BULB FROM THE PASSENGER'S SIDE HEADLIGHT AND PUT IT INTO THE DRIVER'S SIDE HEADLIGHT AND TOOK THE DRIVER'S SIDE HEADLIGHT AND PUT IT INTO THE PASSENGER'S SIDE HEADLIGHT. HE DID NOT REPLACE EITHER BULB. THIS APPEARED TO FIX THE PROBLEM BECAUSE BOTH HEADLIGHTS WERE BRIGHT WHEN TURNED ON. ABOUT A MONTH LATER IN THE MIDDLE OF NOVEMBER, AGAIN THE PASSENGER SIDE HEADLIGHT WENT OUT. IT WAS THE SAME PROBLEM AS BEFORE, THE BULB WAS IN PERFECT SHAPE BUT NOT SHINING. I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALER AGAIN AND THIS TIME THE MECHANIC WAS NOT ABLE TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE BY THE SAME MEANS AS BEFORE (SWITCHING LIGHT BULBS) OR BY REPLACING THEM WITH NEW BULBS. THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME I NEED TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE WIRING FOR THE PASSENGER SIDE HEADLIGHT WHICH IS GOING TO COST $1600. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE FAILURE WAS RELATED TO THE ELECTRICAL SWITCHES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNAVAILABLE.
CAR IN PENNSYLVANIA SHOULD BE ON RECALL AND FIXED
WAS DRIVING ON HIGHWAY AT 55 MPH AT NIGHT AND THE HEADLIGHTS DIMMED AND THE DASHBOARD LIGHTS STARTED TO BLINK AND THEN BOTH LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS WENT OUT. WE HAD TO DRIVE 6 MILES HOME WITH ONLY HIGH BEAMS WORKING. HAD HEAD LIGHTS AND BATTERY REPLACED AND WORKED UNTIL DEC, 14,2014. AGAIN DRIVING AT NIGHT AT 55 MPH ON HIGHWAY THE LIGHTS DIMMED, DASHBOARD LIGHTS STARTED BLINKING AND THEN BOTH LOW BEAMS WENT OUT. AGAIN HAD TO DRIVE HOME WITH HIGH BEAMS ONLY. AFTER HAVING THE LOW BEAMS REPLACED THE FIRST TIME ALL GAUGES FAILED-GAS GAUGE, ODOMETER AND SPEEDOMETER. AFTER TURNING THE CAR OFF AND RESTARTING ALL GAUGES STARTED WORKING AGAIN. THIS COULD BE VERY DANGEROUS FOR ME WHEN HEADLIGHTS BLOW AND FOR OTHER CARS ON THE ROAD AS I NEED TO DRIVE WITH HIGH BEAMS ON. FROM WHAT I HAVE READ HONDA HAS RECALLS ON OTHER YEARS OF THE CRV FOR THE SAME ISSUE BUT NOT ON 2005. *TR
THE TIRE WAS FLAT FOR NO APPARENT REASON AND WE PULLED INTO A UHAUL LOCATION WHERE THEY FILLED AIR AND APPARENTLY NO AIR WAS LEAKING. HOWEVER, WE TOOK THE VEHICLE INTO COSTCO TIRE CENTER SINCE THE MICHELINS WERE PURCHASED THERE AND THEY EXAMINED AND SAID THE RIMS WERE "DAMAGED". THERE IS NO VISIBLE DAMAGE FROM OUTSIDE BUT ACCORDING TO THEM, THE AIR LEAKS FROM THE INSIDE IN THE RIM AND THE TIRE HAS BEEN FLAT AGAIN. WE THOUGHT IT IS THE VALVE BUT EVEN AFTER VALVE REPLACEMENT, ITS THE SAME ISSUE. THIS HAS HAPPENED BEFORE BUT WE HAD A VALVE CHANGED THEN TOO AND IT WORKED APPARENTLY. NOT SURE IF THE RIMS ARE NOT ACCURATELY MACHINED BUT THIS SEEMS TO BE A PREVALENT PROBLEM. *TR

MY HUSBAND WAS ON THE WAY HOME AFTER A VISIT TO GEORGIA,HE WAS JUST WEST OF TALLAHASSEE WHEN THEE CAR STARTED ACTING LIKE IT WAS OUT OF GAS, JUMPING AND BUCKING. WE CALLED OUR INSURANCE BECAUSE, BACK IN APRIL WE HAD A ACCIDENT AND THE CAR HAD TO GO BACK INTO THE SHOP SEVERAL FOR DIFFERENT REASONS, EACH TIME MY HUSBAND SAID "THE TRANSMISSION IS NOT ACTING RIGHT, THERE IS SLACK ACTION EVEN ON THE DAY HE LEFT WHICH BELIEVE WAS 29TH OF SEPTEMBER HE STOPPED AT THE HONDA DEALERSHIP HERE IN PENSACOLA AND WAS TOLD "YOU HAVE A LITTLE WATER BUT SHOULD BE OK. WELL BY THE END OF THE WEEK, IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT THE CAR IS ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND UNDRIVABLE. TOWED BACK TO TALLAHASSEE AND FOUND A MOTEL (ONLY ROOM AVAILABLE 200$ A NIGHT. I GOT MY CAR BACK YESTERDAY TO THE TUNE $4607.00 WOW!!!!! IS THERE ANY INFORMATION ON TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS? WE THINK IT WAS CAUSED BY THE ACCIDENT OR AT THE LEAST THE ACCIDENT HELPED THE DEMISE OF THE TRANSMISSION. IN YOUR OPINION IS THIS POSSIBLE? STILL VERY HARD TO STEER. THE CAR REPAIRED WITH THE HONDA DEALER AS PER THE RECALL NOTICE FOR THE "2002-2006 CR-V DRIVER'S POWER WINDOW MASTER SWITCH" TODAY WHEN IT WAS PARKED IN THE COVERED PARKING GARAGE OF THE MACY'S CORPORATE PLACE, IT GOT FIRE AFTER 1 HOUR IT WAS PARKED. THE DRIVER SIDE SWITCH CONTROLS WAS COMPLETED MELTED AND CAUGHT FIRE POLICE AND FIRE DEPT CAME AND PUT THE FIRE OUT THE CAR WAS TOWED TO CLASSIC COLLISION 3507 OLD NORCROSS ROAD, DULUTH 30096 AND THEY JUDGED AS TOTAL LOSS HONDA'S REPLACED MASTER SWITCH IS NO HELP - IT CAUSED THE FIRE AND HAVE PHOTOS TO BACK IT UP. *TR
THE DRIVER SIDE HEADLIGHT BURNS OUT WITHIN 5 MONTHS OF REPLACING THE BULB. I HAVE GONE THROUGH 2 BULBS ALREADY. THERE SEEMS TO BE AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE CAUSING THIS. THE FUSES ARE OKAY AND CORRECT. *TR
AFTER STARTING THE CAR I PUT MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE PEDAL, TOOK OFF THE EMERGENCY BRAKE, AND PUT THE CAR INTO DRIVE. MY FOOT WAS STILL ON THE BRAKE, BUT THE CAR TOOK OFF AT A HIGH SPEED AS IF I HAD FLOORED THE GAS PEDAL, AND WOULD NOT STOP WITH MY FOOT STILL ON THE BRAKE PEDAL. AT THAT TIME THE BRAKE WOULD NOT STOP THE CAR, SO I PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL AND PULLED OFF THE ROAD, PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND TURNED OFF THE IGNITION. IN SEPTEMBER 2009 I CALLED THE HONDA DEALER ABOUT THE PROBLEM AND WAS TOLD NOT TO BRING THE CAR IN, THAT I MUST HAVE HAD THE MAT JAMMED ON TOP OF THE GAS PEDAL. THAT WAS NOT THE CASE TODAY OR IN 2009. THIS ISBA DEADLY DANGEROUS PROBLEM. PLEASE INVESTIGATE THIS AND PUT OUT AN ALERT ON TV TO ALL CAR OWNERS THAT IF THEIR CAR SHOULD GET STUCK IN ACCELERATION MODE THEY SHOULD PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL AND TURN OFF THE IGNITION. I STOPPED AT A GAS STATION AND GOT GAS. I TURNED OFF THE AIR CONDITIONING BEFORE TURNING OFF THE ENGINE, AS ALWAYS. GOT IN AND STARTED THE CAR, TURNED ON THE A/C, AND IT BLEW HOT AIR. I KEPT TRYING IT ALL THE WAY HOME AND NOTHING BUT HOT AIR. THE NEXT DAY I NOTICED A TICKING SOUND UNDER THE HOOD WHEN IT WAS IDLING. MID SUMMER, BUT NO MONEY TO BRING IT IN. ONE MONTH LATER THE TICKING UNDER THE HOOD GOT PROGRESSIVELY WORSE SO I TOOK IT IN FOR A FREE A/C CHECK. TURNS OUT THE WHOLE A/C SYSTEM NEEDS TO BE REPLACED (ESTIMATE $1000) COMPRESSOR W/CLUTCH, ORIFICE TUBE, RECEIVER/DRYER, AND RE-CHARGE. THOUSANDS OF ONLINE COMPLAINTS AND POTENTIAL HAZARDS. TICKING COULD BE CAUSED BY ALL OF THIS, OR LOOSE VALVES, EXHAUST MANIFOLD, ETC... CONTACTING HONDA, TO SEE WHAT THEY CAN DO... *TR
