Extensive undercarriage rust around the frame. It looks like it should’ve been included in the recalls but doesn’t say it is.
The rear passenger wheel assembly became detached after crossing a small depression in the road. The body/frame had rusted where the two bolts that attached to the wheel assembly. The entire frame and body has rusted underneath the car.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 HONDA CR-V. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, THE CONTACT STATED THAT ALL FOUR DOORS WERE UNABLE TO OPEN. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT OPENED A WINDOW AND INSERTED THE KEY TO TRY TO OPEN THE DOORS FROM OUTSIDE THE VEHICLE, BUT THE DOORS FAILED TO OPEN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SOMEONE ELSE WAS ABLE TO MANUALLY OPEN BOTH REAR DOORS OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AUTONATION HONDA (385 LOCATED AT 4030 HACKS CROSS RD, MEMPHIS, TN 38125, (901) 209-1308), BUT THE DIAGNOSIS AND REPAIR SPECIFICS WERE UNKNOWN. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 155,000.
WHEN I FIRST BOUGHT MY 2006 CRV THE GUY FROM THE DEALER TOLD ME I ONLY HAD 140 THOUSANDS MILE ON IT BUT WHEN TOOK IT HOME ITS 150 THOUSANDS MILES ON IT I TOLD THE GUY WHO SOLD IT TO N HE SAID ILL CHANGE ALL THE PAPERWORK I TOLD THE BANK I DIDN'T WNT IT THEY IT WOULD GO ON MY CREDIT RECORD THATS WHY COULDN'T RETURN IT PLS HELP I FOUND OUT THAT THE SUV WAS IN VERY BAD ACCIDENT N KNW I THINK ITS NOT SAFE FOR MY FAMILY
ON 12/19/2018, AT APPROXIMATELY 1630, I WAS DRIVING ON I-76N; 60 MPH THE HOOD OF MY CAR FLEW UP, CRASHING INTO THE WINDSHIELD. FORTUNATELY, I WAS IN THE LH LANE AND WAS ABLE TO COAST TO THE MEDIAN. MY WINDSHIELD WAS CRACKED. THE FORCE OF THE HIT WAS SO STRONG IT KNOCKED OFF THE REAR VIEW MIRROR. DAMAGE: HOOD, WINDSHIELD AND ROOF CAR WAS TOTALED
HONDA CR-V LEAKS RAINWATER ONTO FLOORS OF VEHICLE. AN INCH OF WATER IN THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT MAKES IT DANGEROUS TO OPERATE PEDALS WHICH BECOME SLIPPERY FROM FOOTWARE, WATER DAMAGE TO FIRE EXTINGUISHER AND OTHER SAFETY EQUIPMENT STORED ON FLOOR FOR TIMES OF EMERGENCY. MANY, MANY COMPLAINTS FROM OTHER CR-V OWNERS EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEM ONLINE. I DRIED OUT THE CARPET, IT RAINED AGAIN AND ANOTHER INCH OF WATER INSIDE THE VEHICLE. IF MILDEW/MOLD GROWS THIS BECOMES A SERIOUS HEALTH HAZARD JEPORDIZING ANYONE RIDING IN THE VEHICLE, ESPECIALLY THOSE WITH COMPRAMISED IMMUNE SYSTEMS.

IN ADDITION, WHILE AT AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR REPAIRS, ANOTHER TIRE MOUNTING BOLT FOR THE SPARE TIRE FRACTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 79,000.
3:30AM - AS I WAS SLEEPING, I HEARD AN EXPLOSION. AS I LOOKED OUT MY BEDROOM WINDOW, I COULD TELL SOMETHING WAS ON FIRE IN DRIVEWAY. I RAN OUTSIDE AND CR-V WAS COMPLETELY ENGULFED IN FLAMES. CALLED 911, FIRE DEPT ARRIVED AND PUT FIRE OUT. CHESTER COUNTY FIRE MARSHALL ARRIVED @4:30AM, NOTHING SUSPICIOUS NOTED. CAR AND CONTENTS WERE A TOTAL LOSS. DRIVEWAY WAS RUINED, BUT FORTUNATELY NO OTHER STRUCTURES WERE INVOLVED. *TR

SHE PULLED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF. ONCE RESTARTED, THE FAILURE CEASED. THE CONTACT DID NOT INFORM THE DEALER OR MANUFACTURER NOR WAS THE VEHICLE DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 91,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
MY REAR GATE WAS EXTREMELY HARD TO OPEN & CLOSE. BROUGHT TO DEALERSHIP & THEY ADVISED THAT THE HINGES NEEDED LUBRICATING. THE SPRAYED A YELLOW FOAM ON THE HINGES. IN THE WEEK THAT FOLLOWED, I NOTICED THAT OPENING THAT REAR GATE BECAME VERY EASY, SO MUCH SO THAT THE REAR GATE "FALLS" OUT OF PLACE. IN ORDER TO CLOSE THE GATE I NEED TO LIFT UP WITH ALL OF MY MIGHT & SHOVE IT CLOSED. LOOKING CLOSER AT THE HINGES, THEY APPEAR TO BE SNAPPED. I BROUGHT IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP TODAY (5/24/10) AND THEY ADVISED THAT THE HINGE WAS SNAPPED FROM DISINTEGRATING, AND THAT THEY HAD NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE THIS. THEY SENT ME TO THE BODY SHOP THEY USE AND THE MAN THERE ALSO TOLD ME THE SAME THING, THE HINGE HAS DISINTEGRATED. I NOW NEED TO REPLACE THE HINGES BECAUSE THE BODY SHOP TOLD ME THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS, THE REAR DOOR COULD FALL OFF WHILE DRIVING AS THE ONLY THING HOLDING THIS ON IS THE REAR GATE HANDLE LOCK AND IF THE DOOR FELL OFF WHILE DRIVING IT COULD NOT ONLY KILL SOMEONE DRIVING BEHIND ME, BUT THAT IT WOULD BE THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS TO REPLACE THE WHOLE REAR DOOR/GATE.
