THE DRIVER SIDE SUN VISOR OF MY 2006 CRV SAGS DOWN INTO MY LINE OF SIGHT. HITTING BUMPS IN THE ROAD CAUSES IT TO SAG EVEN LOWER. THIS IS DANGEROUS FOR THE OBVIOUS VISIBILITY REASON, BUT COULD ALSO BE DANGEROUS IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT. HONDA STARTED MAKING AN UPGRADED REPLACEMENT PART THAT SHOULDN'T SAG, BUT FAILED TO UPDATE THE THOUSANDS OF VEHICLES AFFECTED. I CURRENTLY HAVE MINE TIED UP WITH TWINE UNTIL I CAN GET A REPLACEMENT VISOR.
THE SUN VISOR ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE IS STUCK, AND WILL NOT GO ALL THE WAY IN THE "UP" POSITION. THE VISOR IS THEREFORE STUCK IN A POSITION WHERE IT BUMPS AGAINST THE DRIVER'S FOREHEAD. T HAS BEEN THIS WAY FOR OVER A YEAR.
DRIVERS SIDE VISOR WILL NOT STAY UP, DROPPING DOWN TO BLOCK VISIBILITY. *TR
SUN VISOR FAILURE. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AS IT WILL NO LONGER FOLD UP OR FOLD AWAY. THIS CAUSES A VISUAL HAZARD AND SEEMS LIKE A DESIGN FLAW THAT HAS AFFECTED EVERY CR-V AND ACCORDS EVENTUALLY. TIMING SEEMS TO DEPEND ON THE # OF TIMES THE VISOR IS FLIPPED, & THATS WHY THE PASSENGER SIDE IS NOTED LESS OFTEN (FLIPPED LESS FREQUENTLY). THERE ARE MANY ONLINE VIDEO FIXES (YOUTUBE), BUT AS THERE ARE MANY ONLINE BLOGS REPORTING THIS PROBLEM & IS CLEARLY A VISUAL HAZARD I THINK THIS NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED BY HONDA & NTSB. *TR
FOR MONTHS, SUN VISOR HUNG LOW, NOT BLOCKING VISIBILITY, BUT IT WOULD NOT RETURN TO NORMAL, UPRIGHT POSITION. EVENTUALLY HAD A COMPLETE FAILURE OF VISOR WHERE IT NEITHER CLOSES NOR BLOCKS SUN, MERELY HANGS AND CAUSES VISIBILITY ISSUES. BECAUSE OF ITS POSITION, IT ALSO REGULARLY HITS MY HEAD IF EXITING VEHICLE OR LEANING FORWARD FOR ANY REASON. HONDA RECALLED MANY CIVICS FOR THIS REASON BUT HAVE DONE NOTHING TO REPAIR CR-VS. *TR
DRIVER'S SIDE VISOR BEGAN TO SAG AND FINALLY WILL NOT STAY UP. IT IS APPROXIMATELY 5 INCHES FROM THE ROOF OF THE VEHICLE, CAUSING A SAFETY CONCERN. I ALSO HIT MY HEAD ROUTINELY ENTERING AND EXITING THE VEHICLE. DEALER ADVISES THEY ARE UNAWARE OF ANY PATTERN OF FAILURE WITH VISORS ON THE 2006 CRV, AND ARE ONLY AWARE OF PROBLEMS WITH VISORS ON CIVICS. I HAVE READ BLOGS SHOWING THERE ARE ACTUALLY NUMEROUS REPORTS OF FAILURES, AND REPEATED REPAIRS FOR THIS PROBLEM ON THE 2006 MODEL. THEY ADVISE THE CHARGE WILL BE $150.00 PLUS LABOR TO REPAIR THE PROBLEM. *TR
DRIVER SIDE SUN VISOR WILL NOT STAY UP. I WENT TO HONDA OWNERS' WEBSITE AND PEOPLE ARE COMPLAINING ABOUT THE SAME PROBLEM. THERE ARE HONDA CR-V OWNERS WHO HAD REPLACED THE SUN VISORS ON THEIR CARS MORE THAN THREE TIMES. THEY AND I THINK IT'S A SAFETY ISSUE SINCE DRIVERS DON'T HAVE PROTECTION FROM SUNLIGHT AND HAVE DIFFICULTY SEEING THE TRAFFIC LIGHTS WHEN THE SUN VISOR IS DOWN. *TR

THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION AND THEY STATED THAT THE MOTOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED BUT PROVIDED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 110,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
I WAS DRIVING AND PULLED DOWN MY SUN VISOR AS THE SUN WAS IN MY EYES. WHEN I WENT TO RETURN IT TO POSITION IT KEPT FALLING DOWN INTO MY VIEW OF THE ROAD. I HAD JUST STARTED A 1500 MILE TRIP AND IT TURNED INTO A REAL SAFETY HAZARD AS IT KEPT FALLING DOWN BLOCKING MY VIEW. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TEST. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE AUTOMATIC POWER WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THERE WAS A RECALL UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 11V456000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM), THAT MAY BE RELATED TO THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 61,000.
BOTH SUN VISORS FAIL TO STAY IN POSITION WHEN PUSHED AGAINST THE WINDOW. THEY DROP DOWN TO NEARLY VERTICAL POSITION. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD AS IT OBSTRUCTS THE DRIVER'S VIEW WHILE DRIVING. *TR
THE DRIVER'S SIDE SUN VISOR IN MY 2006 HONDA CR-V WILL NOT STAY IN THE PROPER POSITION. IT HAS NEVER STAYED FLUSH AGAINST THE WINDSHIELD, BUT RATHER SAGGED DOWN ABOUT 1-2 INCHES; HOWEVER, I JUST TREATED THIS AS AN ANNOYANCE PREVIOUSLY. AS OF APPROXIMATELY TWO MONTHS AGO, IT STARTED SAGGING EVEN FURTHER WHEN "OPENED" AGAINST THE WINDSHIELD, AND NOW IT NO LONGER STAYS FLUSH AGAINST THE ROOF OF THE CAR EITHER, OR AGAINST THE DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW IF I HAVE IT ROTATED 90 DEGREES. IT SAGS DOWN SEVERAL INCHES, NO MATTER WHICH DIRECTION IT IS TURNED OR FLIPPED. IT IMPACTS MY VISIBILITY BECAUSE IT DOESN'T SHIELD THE SUN PROPERLY, AND IT GETS IN MY WAY, BOTH PHYSICALLY, AND BY BLOCKING MORE OF MY FIELD OF VIEW THAN WHAT IS APPROPRIATE. I AM NOT EVEN TALL--5'4". I PURCHASED AN EXTENDED WARRANTY (8 YEARS/120,000 MILES) AND AM JUST SHY OF 80,000 MILES NOW. I TOOK THE CAR TO MY LOCAL MECHANIC FIRST, AND THEY SAID THE ENTIRE FIXTURE NEEDS REPLACEMENT. THEN I CALLED MY LOCAL HONDA DEALER TO SEE IF THIS WAS COVERED UNDER WARRANTY; THEY SAID, "CALL HONDA AND ASK THEM." MEANWHILE, I ASKED WHAT IT WOULD COST ME TO REPAIR THIS OUT OF POCKET: $151 FOR THE VISOR AND $52 PER HOUR FOR LABOR, SO OVER $200, LIKELY. I CALLED HONDA, AND A VERY UNHELPFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE PERSON SAID THE SUN VISOR IS CLASSIFIED AS INTERIOR TRIM AND THEREFORE, NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. I STRONGLY DISAGREE--THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE, NOT A COSMETIC IRREGULARITY ON THE DASHBOARD, OR SOMETHING EQUALLY INCONSEQUENTIAL. *KB

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE DRIVER SIDE POWER WINDOW SWITCH WAS MELTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL ASSOCIATED WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 11V456000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). HONDA HAS A PROBLEM WITH SUN VISORS IN 2006 HONDA CR-VS. THE SUN VISORS SAG DOWN AND OBSTRUCT THE DRIVERS VISION CAUSING SAFETY ISSUES. YOU ARE NOT ABLE TO SEE TRAFFIC LIGHTS OR TRAFFIC SIGNS WHEN SUN VISORS SAG DOWN. MANY OWNERS HAVE HAD THESE VISORS REPLACED BY HONDA UP TO 4 AND 5 TIMES AND EACH NEW VISOR FAILS WITHIN WEEKS OR MONTHS. OWNERS ARE REPORTING THE PROBLEMS IN POPULAR AUTOMOTIVE FORUMS ON THE WEB. THE VISORS IN MY 2006 CR-V HAVE BEEN REPLACED 4 TIMES AND THE 4TH SET JUST FAILED AGAIN. HONDA HAS NO EXPLANATION EACH TIME. I AM CALLING HONDA'S CORPORATE OFFICE TODAY. *TR

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED BUT DID NOT PROVIDE ANY ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000.
I HAVE A 2006 HONDA CRV, BOUGHT NEW FROM LEESBURG HONDA. ON FEB 18,2007 I LEFT CAR IN THEIR REPAIR SHOP BECAUSE WINDSHIELD WIPERS STOPPED WORKING. FEB 20 I PICKED UP CAR, NO REPAIR MADE. THEY CLAIM IT NEEDS A NEW WIPER TRANSMISSION, THAT NONE ARE AVAILABLE FOR NOW, AND THAT IT IS NOT A WARRANTY ITEM. I THINK IT SHOULD BE A WARRANTY ITEM & CALLED HONDA TO COMPLAIN AND WAS GIVEN CASE # N012007-02-2100228. FROM LOCAL AND NATIONAL HONDA I STILL DO NOT HAVE A DATE FOR REPAIR OR A DECISION AS TO WHY IT WAS TURNED DOWN FOR WARRANTY CLAIM. *JB
