2007 HONDA AUTOMATIC DOOR LOCKS MALFUNCTION. IN DECEMBER 2010 THE DRIVER SIDE AND THE BACK DOOR BEGAN TO MALFUNCTION. HONDA MADE ME PAY FOR IT AND THEY REIMBURSED 1/2 SINCE I WAS PAST WARRANTY. NOW ITS APRIL 2011 AND HERE I AM AGAIN THE PASSENGER SIDE IS LOCKING THEN POPS OPEN AGAIN. IT WILL NOT STAY LOCKED. I AM AT HONDA AND IT IS GOING TO COST $238.00 TO REPAIR. THIS IS A DEFECT IN THE DOOR LOOKS. IT IS ALSO A SAFETY ISSUE. I FEEL OPEN TO CARJACKERS AS I CANNOT LOCK MY DOORS. I DRIVE CHILDREN AROUND, AND I HAVE NO CAPABILITY OF SECURING MY CAR AND THE ITEMS IN IT. THEY ARE MAKING ME PAY FIRST AND THEN THEY MIGHT REFUND TO ME PART OF THE FEES. I FEEL I SHOULD NOT PAY FOR ANY OF THEIR DEFECTS. I CAN REQUEST THE OLD PART FOR THIS LAST CORRECTION. IF YOU WANT ME TO SEND IT TO YOU. I WAS TOLD THAT THE DEALER SHIP HAD BEEN REPLACING THE DOOR LOCKS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 HONDA CR-V. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE ATTEMPTED TO ENTER THE VEHICLE BUT THE DOORS WOULD NOT UNLOCK. THE DOORS EVENTUALLY UNLOCKED AFTER REPEATED ATTEMPTS. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD INTERMITTENTLY EXPERIENCE A FAILURE IN WHICH IT WOULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF PARK UNLESS ALLOWED TO REST FOR A LONG PERIOD OF TIME. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT REPAIR SHOP AND THE BATTERY WAS REPLACED. THE FAILURES CONTINUED TO OCCUR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE, BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
REAR BRAKE PADS STUCK AND HAD TO REPLACE BRAKES. *TR
ELECTRONIC DOOR LOCKS WON'T UNLOCK. HAS HAPPENED ON MULTIPLE DOORS. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD AND IT IS COSTING HONDA CUSTOMERS A FORTUNE EACH TIME THEY HAVE TO GET THE DOOR LOCKS REPAIRED. *TT
HONDA 2007 SLID DURING ICY CONDITIONS HITTING A GUARDRAIL AND DAMAGING THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. SIDE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED PINNING THE DRIVER'S HEAD BETWEEN THE AIRBAG AND THE SIDE WINDOW RESULTING IN A CONCUSSION AND ABRASIONS TO THE HEAD AND FACE. FRONT AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. *TR
DRIVER DOOR LATCH ASSEMBLY/ACTUATOR CAUSES DOORS TO LOCK AND UNLOCK REPEATEDLY BEGINNING AT APPROX 9 MPH. WITH VEHICLE PARKED AND TURNED OFF, DOORS RE-LOCK REPEATEDLY EACH TIME THE DOOR IS UNLOCKED MAKING IF DIFFICULT TO ENTER OR EXIT THE VEHICLE. THIS WAS REPAIRED, BUT FAILED AGAIN IN JULY 2013 AT APPROXIMATELY 48,334 MILES. *TR
IN JANUARY OF 2011 THE POWER DOOR LOCKS ON MY HONDA CRV STARTED CLICKING AT 10 MPH--BY FEBRUARY OF 2011, THE DOORS STARTED LOCKING ON ME SECONDS AFTER I REMOTELY UNLOCKED THE DOOR--SOMETIMES NOT EVEN LETTING ME OPEN THE DOOR AND GET INTO THE CAR. I HAD AN INCIDENT IN MID FEBRUARY, WHEN THE DOOR BLEW CLOSED WITH THE KEY IN THE IGNITION, MY PURSE AND CELL PHONE IN THE CAR--AND LOCKED ME OUT OF THE CAR--THANKFULLY MY SUNROOF WAS OPEN AND ALL 63 YEARS OF ME HAD TO CLIMB INTO THE CAR THROUGH THE SUNROOF. NEXT DAY WE TOOK IT TO THE DEALER, WHO REPLACED THE ACTUATOR ON THE DRIVER DOOR. ALMOST TWO YEARS LATER IN MAY OF 2013 IT STARTED ALL OVER AGAIN--THIS TIME THE REAR DOOR BEHIND THE DRIVER. THE FIRST TIME IT COST US $282--THIS LAST TIME IT WAS $244. WE HAVE TWO MORE DOORS TO GO AND ANOTHER LADY SAID SHE HAD ALL OF THEM REPLACED AND IT COST HER $900.--THIS IS DEFINITELY A DEFECT IN THESE CARS, AND HONDA SHOULD HAVE A RECALL AND REIMBURSE WHAT WE HAD TO PAY! *TR
I HAVE A 2007 HONDA CR-V. I HAVE REPLACE TWO DOOR LOCKS ON THIS VEHICLE. A THIRD DOOR IS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM OF NOT LOCKING. 2007 HONDA CRV POWER LOCKS ARE WORKING INTERMITTENTLY HAVING PROBLEMS WITH DRIVERSIDE REAR DOOR AND TRUNK LATCH. ALSO EVERYTIME I SLOW AND SPEED UP AGAIN THE LOCKS ARE TRYING TO RELOCK, CURRENT MILEAGE IS 51500. CALLED HONDA WAS TOLD IT WOULD COST $115./HR TO FIND OUT WHATS WRONG. CAN NOT AFFORD TO SPEND 500-600 TO FIX. ELECTRICAL POWER LOCKS SHOULD NOT GO BAD SHAME ON HONDA. *TR

LOUD NOISE FROM REAR END DIFFERENTIAL WHEN MAKING SLOW SHARP TURNS. *TR
AS I WAS DRIVING IN TOWN MY BACK LEFT DOOR LOCK SUDDENLY UNLOCKED ITSELF, WITHOUT MY PUSHING ANY LOCKING BUTTON. THIS CONTINUED SPORADICALLY. HOWEVER, WHEN I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP NOTHING HAPPENED, SO THEY COULD DO NOTHING. LATER THE OTHER BACK DOOR HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. THAT MAY HAVE BEEN IN NOVEMBER OF 2012, I HONESTLY DON'T REMEMBER. WHEN MY HUSBAND TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP THIS TIME, THEY QUOTED A PRICE FOR REPAIR WHICH MY HUSBAND FELT WAS TOO HIGH, SO HE DID NOT HAVE ANYTHING DONE. WITHIN THE PAST TWO MONTHS (MAYBE APRIL OF 2013), THE DRIVERS' SIDE DOOR ALSO CAME DOWN WITH THE SAME UNLOCKING PROBLEM. LAST TUESDAY AFTERNOON, JUNE 26, 2013, THE SIMPLE CLICKING SOUND WHICH ACCOMPANIED THE UNLOCKING ACTION WAS REPLACED WITH A LOUD GRINDING SOUND. GENERALLY THIS HAPPENS WHEN THE CAR IS MOVING FROM A STANDING STILL SITUATION TO MOVING FORWARD. I SAW THIS MORNING THAT IT HAPPENED AT 10 MPH, BUT SOMETIMES IT JUST HAPPENS SEVERAL TIMES CONSECUTIVELY. THE CAR CANNOT BE LOCKED, SO THE DOOR COULD BE OPENED WHILE IN MOTION, OR IT COULD BE ENTERED BY ANYONE AT ANY TIME. I KNOW MINE IS NOT THE ONLY CAR OF THIS MODEL TO HAVE THIS PROBLEM. *TR
WARNING FOR TIRE SIGNAL CAME ON DASH INDICATING A PROBLEM WITH TIRE PRESSURE (AGAIN). I WENT TO A LOCAL TIRE DEALER FOR AIR AND PRESSURE CHECK ONLY TO BE ADVISED THAT ALL 4 OF MY YOKOHAMA TIRES HAT ONE INCH PLUS OF DRY ROT. THESE TIRES ARE ABOUT ONE YEAR OLD, HAVE APPROX. 35,000 MILES ON THEM AND MY VEHICLE HAS AN OUTSTANDING SERVICE RECORD. COPIES OF RECEIPTS SHOW THAT EVERY 40,000 MILES I PURCHASED NEW TIRES. ALL WORK AND ALL PART PURCHASES HAVE BEEN DONE 100% AT HONDA DEALER-JACK MATIA IN ELYRIA, OHIO. THE ONLY SERVICE PERFORMED OUT OF THE DEALER IS TWICE A YEAR DETAIL SERVICE DONE AT A REPUTABLE DETAIL SHOP IN WESTLAKE, OHIO. UPON MY CONTACTING THE DEALER AND VISITING THEM, THEY COULD NOT EXPLAIN HOW THIS COULD BE MISSED AND NEVER WITNESSED "DRY ROT". THE RETURN/CREDIT PROCESS WITH THE DEALER AND TIRE RACK (HONDA'S DISTRIBUTOR) WAS AN INSULT ON TOP OF HAVING TO PURCHASE BRAND NEW TIRES AND MY CHOICE, A DIFFERENT BRAND. I EXPRESSED MY DISAPPOINTMENT AND ANGER TO THE GENERAL MANAGER AT THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS INSULTED. RESEARCH ON MY END INDICATES THAT THERE IS IN FACT DOCUMENTATION ABOUT THE TIRES AND DRY ROT AND THE I BELIEVE THE DEALER IS JUST AS ACCOUNTABLE FOR THE TIRES SINCE THEY SOLD THEM AND INSTALLED THEM FOR ME AND SHOULD HAVE SEEN WHAT IS ONE INCH AND HALF ON ALL OF THE TIRES. PICTURES ARE AVAILABLE. NO HARM CAME TO ME OR ANYONE ELSE. HOWEVER, I FEEL I AM DUE COMPENSATION/REFUND FOR THIS PURCHASE AND THIS MATTER SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED TO INSURE THAT NO HARM COMES TO ANYONE ELSE THAT MIGHT HAVE YOKOHAMA TIRES. *TR
REAR DIFFERENTIAL NOISE WHEN BACKING AND TURNING, COULD ESCALATE TO A DANGEROUS HANDLING OF THE CAR. SECOND TIME THAT I HAVE TO TAKE MY HONDA CR-V 2007 TO THE DEALER FOR THE SAME REASON. *TR
NOISE IN REAR OF CAR THE DEALERSHIP DID A BRAKE INSPECTION AND SAID THE PROBLEM WAS CAUSED BY REAR BRAKE PADS ARE STUCK IN THE MOUNTS AND ARE SCORING REAR ROTORS. THEY SUGGESTED REPLACEMENT OF REAR BRAKES CLEAN AND LUBE MOUNTS AND SLIDES ON CALIPERS. THIS HAPPENED AT 44,400 MILES. *TR
THE DOOR LOCK ACTUATORS ON OUR 2007 CR-V STARTED TO MALFUNCTION A FEW YEARS AGO. THEY AUTOMATICALLY LOCK AND UNLOCK WHILE DRIVING AND THE REAR DRIVERS SIDE DOOR WILL NOT LOCK AT ALL. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERN. WE ALSO HAVE LOST ITEMS TO CRIMINALS THAT HAVE ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS GOTTEN INTO THE CAR THROUGH THE UN-LOCKABLE DOOR. WE GOT SOME OF THESE ACTUATORS FIXED BEFORE OUR EXTENDED WARRANTY EXPIRED - BUT SINCE THEN, THEY HAVE FAILED ONCE AGAIN AND NOW WE BEYOND THE 100,000 MILE WARRANTY PERIOD. WE SEE ONLINE THAT THIS IS COMMON PROBLEM THAT HONDA HAS BEEN IGNORING AND NOW HAVE NO RECOURSE BUT TO COMPLAIN TO YOU FINE GOVERNMENT PEOPLE TO MAKE THEM TAKE CARE OF THEIR RESPONSIBILITY TO PROVIDE US A SAFE VEHICLE THAT WE CAN LOCK. ALL WE WANT IS FOR HONDA TO FIX THE PROBLEM ON OUR CAR WITH DOOR ACTUATORS THAT DO NOT LEAVE US VULNERABLE TO CRIMINALS. PLEASE MAKE IT SO THAT WE CAN LOCK THE DOORS ON OUR CAR. *TR

THIS IS A 2007 HONDA CRV_EX-L. THERE WAS NO ACCIDENT INVOLVED. THIS COMPLAINT IS IN REGARDS TO THE DIFFERENTIAL PROBLEM WITH THE CRV. THIS VEHICLE HAS ONLY 28,000 MILES ON IT BUT IS 3 1/2 YEARS OLD. STARTED HAVE A NOISE PROBLEM WHEN TURNING AT SLOW SPEEDS. BROUGHT INTO DEALER AND THEY TOLD US THE DIFFERENTIAL LUBRICANT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AT A COST OF $125. DEALER WOULD NOT STAND BEHIND THE PROBLEM EVEN THOUGH CAR HAD EXTENDED WARRANTY, BECAUSE IT WAS PAST 36 MONTH. SERVICE REP SAID THERE WAS A SERVICE ADVISORY POSTED INTERNALLY FOR THIS PROBLEM THAT SAID THE LUBRICANT NEEDED TO BE CHANGED EVERY 15,000 TO 20,000 MILES, EVEN THOUGHT THE MANUAL SAY 60,000. NO NOTIFICATION WAS SENT TO OWNERS OF THIS ADVISORY. HAD TO PAY TO HAVE IT FIXED, BUT DO NOT KNOW IF THERE WAS INTERNAL DAMAGE AND SERVICE REP DID NOT KNOW. *TR
VEHICLE MAKES A GRINDING NOISE WHEN MAKING HARD LEFT OR RIGHT TURNS AT SLOW SPEEDS. *TR
THE SIDE VISIBILITY ON MY 2007 HONDA CRV IS DANGEROUS. I HAVE NEVER HAD A PROBLEM LIKE THIS WITH ANY OF THE NUMEROUS VEHICLES I HAVE OWNED. THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES AT A VARIETY OF SPEEDS. REGARDLESS OF HOW I SET THE SIDE VIEW MIRRORS, I HAVE NEARLY CAUSED COLLISIONS BECAUSE OF THE 'BLIND SPOT.' BECAUSE I AM AWARE OF THIS DESIGN DEFICIENCY, I AM AS CAREFUL AS POSSIBLE WHEN CHANGING LANES, I USE MY SIGNAL, LOOK IN THE MIRROR, TURN MY HEAD AND THEN LOOK IN THE MIRROR AGAIN. NEVERTHELESS, THIS IS NOT SUFFICIENT. THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN WHEN I DRIVE OTHER VEHICLES. IF THERE IS SOME DEVICE THAT CAN BE ADDED TO THE CAR I WOULD SUGGEST DOING SO. *TR
I HAVE A 2007 CRV, 45000 MILES ON IT, AND I EXPERIENCED A MOANING OR GROANING COMES FROM THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL WHEN MAKING A SHARP OR TIGHT TURN AT LOW SPEEDS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 HONDA CR-V. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD PULL STRONGLY TO THE RIGHT WHEN DRIVING. THE VEHICLE HAD SEVERAL FRONT END ALIGNMENTS. THE CONTACT WAS TOLD THERE WAS A REPAIR KIT AVAILABLE FOR THE FAILURE, BUT THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT PROVIDING ANY ASSISTANCE TO THE CONTACT. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 95,000.
THE ICONS ON THE LOCK AND UNLOCK BUTTONS OF THE KEY/TRANSMITTER WEAR OFF PREMATURELY. MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO REMOTELY OPEN OR CLOSE THE DOORS. BOTH THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER CLAIM THE KEY/TRANSMITTER ARE NOT COVERED BY THE 3YR/36,000 MILE WARRANTY. *TR
NOISE COMING FROM THE FRONT WHILE DRIVING. MY MECHANIC TOLD ME NOT TO WORRY ABOUT WHEEL BEARING AS MY CAR WAS RELATIVELY NEW(~20,000 MILES). THIS PROBLEM STARTED IRRITATING ME AND HENCE TOOK TO A DIFFERENT MECHANIC AND FOUND OUT THAT FRONT DRIVER SIDE WHEEL BEARING WAS SHOT AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. I AM GLAD I DID NOT GET ANY KIND OF SAFETY PROBLEMS UNTIL THEN.
WE HAVE A 2007 HONDA CRV WITH 55K MILES ON IT AND THE AIR CONDITIONER STOPPED WORKING. WE TOOK IT TO THE HONDA DEALER ND THEY CHARGED US $99 TO LOOK INTO THE PROBLEM. THE REPORT STATED THAT A STONE HAD HIT THE CONDENSER CAUSING A LEEK IN THE COOLANT. THE DEALER ESTIMATED THE REPAIR TO BE AT LEAST $850 DOLLARS ALTHOUGH, THEY COULD NOT DETERMINE ACTUAL REPAIR COST TILL THEY GOT INTO THE REPAIR. WHEN THE AC STOPPED WORKING, NO POSSIBILITY IT COULD HAVE BEEN HIT BY ROCK. WE CHECKED ONLINE ONLY TO SEE THIS PROBLEM EXISTS FOR A FEW YEARS NOW WITH NO RECALL. *TR
1. STARTED TO HEAR METAL ON METAL SOUND COMING FROM THE DRIVER SIDE REAR WHEEL WHEN BRAKES WERE APPLIED. 2. THE FAILURE WAS A STUCK BRAKE CALIPER CAUSING BRAKE PADS TO WEAR DOWN TO METAL. 3. RESURFACED ROTORS, REPLACED BRAKE PADS AND UNSTUCK CALIPER. *TR
THE VEHICLE LOCKS AND UNLOCKS ITSELF WHILE DRIVING AND WHILE PARKED. IT DOESN'T HAPPEN ALL THE TIME, IT'S RANDOM WHEN IT HAPPENS. AFTER A QUICK SEARCH ONLINE, I FOUND MANY PEOPLE HAVING THE SAME LOCK ISSUES OR AT LEAST SOMETHING SIMILAR. *TR

THE DEALER SERVICE PEOPLE NEVER MENTIONED ANY PROBLEM WHEN WE DID REGULAR SERVICE UNTIL IT RAN OUT OF THE WARRANTY. NOW THEY "NOTICED" THE NOISE AND ADVISED US TO CHANGE THE FLUID. I SUSPECTED IF THIS WOULD SOLVE THE PROBLEM SINCE I STARTED NOTICING IT RIGHT FROM THE BEGINNING. WHEN I CHECKED ONLINE, I FOUND IT IS A BIGGER PROBLEM. *TR

1ST FAILURE WAS TIRES IN REAR OF THE VEHICLE WERE WORN ON THE INSIDE CAUSING THE TIRE TO DEFLATE. RETURNED TO THE DEALER ASKING THEM WHAT HAPPENED. THEY BLAMED THE TIRE MANUFACTURER. PUT NEW TIRES ON HAD ALL THE NECESSARY DEALER SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE. ROTATION ECT. THE NEW TIRES INSTALLED AT 42,000 BEGAN TO SHIMMY BADLY IN THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE AT 63,000 MILES. TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A HONDA DEALER IN FL AND THE TIRES HAD TO BE REPLACED IN THE REAR BECAUSE OF THE SAME WEAR AS THE 1ST SET. THE REAR SUSPENSION CAN NOT BE ADJUSTED TO CORRECT THIS PROBLEM. THE SOLUTION WAS AFTER MARKET (NOT HONDA MFG PARTS) WITH AN ADJUSTABLE ARM. THE CAMBER CAN NOW BE ADJUSTED TO MAKE THE VEHICLE SAFE TO DRIVE, THE TIRES WOULD HAVE WORN OUT IN AN AREA NOT EASY TO SEE AN CAUSE A BLOWOUT AT HIGH SPEED WOULD BE A REAL PROBLEM. HONDA CORP WILL NOT ADMIT FAULT. I SEE MANY PEOPLE ON THE INTERNET WITH THE SAME PROBLEM AS I EXPERIENCED. THE EXTENDED VEHICLE INS. I PURCHASED WILL NOT PAY FOR THIS PROBLEM. THEY SAY HONDA HAS MODIFIED THIS PART AND THEY WILL NOT PAY. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL IN MY OPINION BECAUSE OF THE SAFETY ISSUE. I WAS LUCKY TO HAVE MY TIRE FAILURE OCCUR AT A SLOW SPEED. WE ARE A TWO CAR OWNERSHIP FAMILY AND ONE OF THE VEHICLE IS A 2007 HONDA CRV AND AROUND 40,000 MILES THE CAR BEGAN VIBRATING AT SPEEDS BETWEEN 38 TO 43 MPH. CONTACTED MY HONDA DEALER, LEE HONDA, AND THEY ARE VEHEMENT IN STATING THAT THERE IS NO ISSUE WITH CRV AND THE VIBRATION MAYBE DUE TO DIFFERENTIAL FLUID NEEDING FLUSHING. ALSO DEALER STATED IT MAY BE DUE TO FRONT-END ALIGNMENT. NEW TIRES WERE INSTALLED, FRONT-END ALIGNMENT DONE AND WHAT WAS AN INFREQUENT OCCURRENCE IS NOT AN EVERYDAY OCCURRENCE. HONDA DEALER IS STILL ADAMANT IT MAYBE DIFFERENTIAL FLUID NEEDING FLUSHING. MY PERSONAL MECHANIC HAS FOUND THE BULLETIN THAT REFERENCES THE NEED TO FLUSH THE DIFFERENTIAL, POSSIBLY TWICE. WHY ARE THEY SIMPLY NOT UPFRONT WITH THEIR PROBLEM AND ADDRESS THE ISSUE. AFTER SEVERAL UNSATISFIED CONVERSATION WITH THE DEALERSHIP,I AM HAVING MY MECHANIC DO THE WORK ON 9/1/2010 AND LEAVE THE HONDA DEALER CHATTING ABOUT "IT'S NOT A HONDA ISSUE" TO HIMSELF. WHAT POOR CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIP HONDA ADVERTISES THE DEALERSHIP BY NOT BEING HONEST ABOUT IT'S PROBLEM. IT WILL BE MY LAST HONDA. I WAS TRAVELING APPROXIMATELY 25-30 MPH WHEN A WOMAN DRIVER FAILED TO STOP AT A STOP SIGN WHICH CAUSED ME TO HIT THE SIDE OF HER CAR. MY SEATBELT RETRACTED AND SAVE ME, HOWEVER THE AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY. THERE WAS HOWEVER A SCENT OF BURNING OR A CHEMICAL REACTION INSIDE THE CABIN. I WAS UNDER THE IMPRESSION THAT AIRBAGS WILL DEPLOY AT MORE THAN 10 MPH UPON IMPACT. CLEARLY I WAS GOING FASTER THAN 10-15 MPH. I AM WONDERING IF SOMETHING WAS A MISS. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 HONDA CR-V. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO TURN ON THE AIR CONDITIONER BUT ONLY HOT AIR WOULD BLOW OUT OF THE VENTS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE COMPRESSOR WITHIN THE AIR CONDITIONING UNIT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE WAITED FOR MORE THAN A MONTH FOR THE PARTS TO BE AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 90,000.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 HONDA CR-V. THE CONTACT WAS ATTEMPTING TO ENTER THE VEHICLE AND THE DOOR WOULD NOT OPEN AND THE ALARM SOUNDED. AFTER REPEATED ATTEMPTS HE WAS ABLE TO ENTER THE VEHICLE. AS SOON AS HE CLOSED THE DOOR, THE POWER LOCKS ENGAGED AND THE ALARM SOUNDED WITH THE CONTACT LOCKED IN THE VEHICLE. AFTER APPROXIMATELY 25 MINUTES, THE DRIVER WAS ABLE TO UNLOCK THE DOORS AND EXIT THE VEHICLE. THE ALARM SHUT OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE DOOR LATCH WAS DEFECTIVE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT SERVICED AND THE FAILURE HAS RECURRED EACH TIME THE VEHICLE WAS OPERATED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 51,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 51,500.
I PURCHASED MY CR-V AS A CERTIFIED USED CAR WITH 7000 MILES. THE TIRE NOISE KEPT GETTING LOUDER AS THE MILES GREW. BY 18,000 MILES I COULDN'T TAKE IT AND WENT TO THE DEALER. THEY SAID MY TIRES WERE CUPPED AND NEEDED REPLACED. I PUT NEW TIRES ON AND HAD IT ALIGNED BY THE DEALER. THEY COULD NOT GET IT IN SPEC AND REPLACED THE REAR SPRINGS. THEY ALIGNED IT, BUT I STILL HAD TIRE NOISE. DEALER SAID I BOUGHT CHEAP ($125/PC) TIRES . THESE TIRES ARE ALSO NOW CUPPED SO BAD AT 50,000 MILES THAT I NEED TO REPLACE THEM, A 70K TIRE WITH ONLY 30K ON THEM. I ALSO SMELL HOT RUBBER ON THE REAR PASSENGER TIRE MUCH LIKE OTHERS HAVE SAID, AND ONLY THIS TIRE. COINCIDENTLY THIS ONE IS THE CUPPED NOISE MAKER. *TR
WHEN CHECKING WASHER FLUID, I NOTICED THE FLUID WAS NOT VISIBLE, SO I ADDED THE PROPER FLUID. AS NOTHING HAPPENED, I LOOKED UNDER CAR, & THE WASHER SOLUTION WAS RUNNING OUT ON THE CONCRETE FLOOR, AS I POURED IT INTO JUG. UPON FURTHER EXAMINATION, I FOUND PIECES OF THE TUBING THAT HAD BEEN CHEWED ON, AND IN SOME AREAS, CHEWED COMPLETELY THROUGH. ONE OF THESE AREAS I WAS ABLE TO ACCESS VIA A PLASTIC DOOR, ABOUT 12 INCHES WIDE, BY ABOUT 2 INCHES IN HEIGHT, LOCATED UNDER THE HOOD, IN THE CENTER OF THE FIREWALL, JUST BELOW THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS. I FOUND PIECES OF TUBING IN THIS AREA, ALSO. LOOKING FURTHER, I FOUND INSULATION THAT MICE HAD MOVED FROM AN UNKNOWN AREA, TO MAKE THEIR NEST. WITH SOME DIFFICULTY, I FINALLY RECEIVED A CALL FROM A HONDA REP, IN CALIFORNIA. AFTER ABOUT 25 MINUTES OF DISCUSSION, IN A PEACEFUL MANNER, I WAS NOT OFFERED ANY SOLUTION TO THE MICE PROBLEM, AS I WAS TRYING TO GET HONDA TO HELP ME DETERMINE WHERE THE POINT OF ENTRY WAS LOCATED AT, IN THE CAR BODY, THAT WOULD ALLOW MICE TO GAIN ENTRY. AS A FORMER AUTO MECHANIC, & A STRUCTURE AIRCRAFT MECHANIC, I PLANNED TO MAKE THE REPAIR MYSELF. (THE INSULATION MOVEMENT COULD BE AFFECTING THE A/C & HEATING SYSTEMS, ALSO). LATER, I FOUND BOTH OF THE WIRES TO THE LEFT CLEARANCE LIGHT HAD BEEN CHEWED COMPLETELY THROUGH, WIRE & ALL. I LATER READ ON A WEB SITE, THAT THE WIRING INSULATION WAS MADE OUT OF RECYCLED FOOD MATERIAL, SUCH AS THE HUSKS FROM CORN, OR PODS FROM MATURE DRIED BEANS!! I CONSIDER THE WINDSHIELD WASHER PROBLEM A SAFETY HAZARD, FOR SURE. OTHER MFG OF ASIAN CARS COULD BE USING FOOD GRADE WIRING. IF THE MICE CAN'T BE STOPPED, THEY COULD TOTALLY DESTROY THESE NEWER TYPE CARS, LOOKING FOR SHELTER, WITH A BUILT-IN FOOD SUPPLY. THIS SHOULD BE CONSIDERED A FIRE HAZARD, ALSO, IN MY OPINION, DUE TO CAUSING A SHORT-CIRCUIT IN THE WIRING SYSTEMS. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO INFORMED THE CONTACT OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 11V395000 (POWER TRAIN). THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND CONFIRMED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 18,000.
FRONT DOORS STARTED LOCKING AUTOMATICALLY. AFTER APPROX. 9 MONTHS ALL DOORS STARTED LOCKING AUTOMATICALLY. ALL DOORS WOULD LOCK IMMEDIATELY AFTER ENGINE WAS TURNED OFF, LOCKING ALL OCCUPANTS INSIDE. WOULD LOCK WHEN CAR WAS IDLING IN PARK AND WAS UNABLE TO OPEN DOORS MANUALLY WITH KEY FROM OUTSIDE. CAR WAS STOLEN THEN RECOVERED. WHATEVER WAS USED TO STEAL IT MUST HAVE RESET COMPUTER. BECAUSE FOR APPROX.1 WEEK AFTER RECOVERY DOOR LOCKS WORKED FINE. NOW IT IS BACK TO THE PROBLEM AS BEFORE. MY 1 YR. OLD GRANDSON WAS LOCKED IN THE CAR FOR A BRIEF TIME DUE TO THIS ISSUE, LUCKILY ONE OF THE REAR WINDOWS WAS DOWN AND MY DAUGHTER CRAWLED THRU. I HAVE READ THERE IS A RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM ON 2006 HONDA CRV, BUT NOT FOR THE 2007. IT IS POSSIBLE THAT LEFT OVER DEFECTIVE PARTS FROM 2006 MODELS WERE USED IN 2007. I AM TOLD I COULD HAVE TO PAY UP TO $900.00 TO REPAIR THIS PROBLEM. I NOT ONLY DON'T HAVE THE MONEY, BUT I DON'T ACCEPT THAT IT SHOULD BE MY PROBLEM. I HAVE A 2007 HONDA CRV WITH 19000 MILES ON IT. I RECENTLY TOOK IT IN FOR INSPECTION AND WAS TOLD THAT THE TIRES(CONTINENTAL 225/65 R17) WERE DRYROTTED. I AM 68 YEARS OLD AND HAVE NEVER HAD AN AUTOMOBILE WHERE THE TIRES WERE DRYROTTED. THERE HAS TO BE SOMETHING WRONG WHEN THE TIRES ON A 3 YR. I AM A LOYAL HONDA OWNER ON MY THIRD HONDA, A 2007 CRV. THE CRV CAME WITH OEM TIRES, BRIDGESTONE DUELER H/T TO BE SPECIFIC. WHEN I BOUGHT THE CAR I TOLD THE DEALER I DID NOT WANT SUCH POORLY RATED TIRES BUT WAS TOLD THERE WAS NO OPTION TO UPGRADE TO BETTER TIRES. I PUT UP WITH THESE BAD TIRES FOR 3 YEARS WITH NO PROBLEMS UNTIL MY LUCK RAN OUT THIS YEAR WHEN MY AREA RECEIVED SEVERAL SNOW STORMS. MY FIRST NEAR-MISS HAPPENED IN DECEMBER OF 2009 I GOT STUCK ON A VERY MINOR PATCH OF SNOW AND MY CAR NARROWLY AVOIDED SLIDING BACKWARDS INTO A CREEK JUST BEHIND ME THAT WAS ABOUT 10' DEEP. I SHOULD HAVE REPLACED THE TIRES RIGHT THEN BUT FAILED TO MAKE THE CONNECTION TO THE BAD TIRES AND BLAMED IT ON THE ROAD CONDITIONS. THE SECOND NEAR-MISS CAME THIS WEEK WHEN WE GOT A MAJOR SNOWSTORM AND MY BROTHER'S HOUSE LOST POWER AND HEAT. THE DAY AFTER THE STORM I TRIED TO DRIVE TO MY BROTHER'S HOUSE AND RESCUE HIM AND HIS FAMILY. I GOT JUST OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY ONTO THE SNOW COVERED STREET AND RIGHT AWAY GOT STUCK. I WAS ONLY ABLE TO MOVE MY CAR BACK INTO THE DRIVEWAY BY THROWING DIRT UNDER ALL THE TIRES TO GET TRACTION. I PULLED BACK INTO THE DRIVEWAY AND WAS AFRAID TO TRY AGAIN FOR 2 DAYS UNTIL THE SNOW SOFTENED UP A BIT. KEEP IN MIND THAT MY CRV IS ALL WHEEL DRIVE AND THE TIRES HAD LESS THAN 25,000 MILES ON THEM AND WERE NOT WORN OUT. IN BOTH CASES THE ALL WHEEL DRIVE WAS USELESS AND IN BOTH CASES LIVES WERE AT RISK. I PAID EXTRA TO GET THE ALL WHEEL DRIVE VERSION FOR JUST SUCH OCCASIONS AND I FEEL LET DOWN, TO SAY THE LEAST. TODAY BEING THE FIRST TIME I COULD GET TO A MAIN ROAD (BARELY) I HEADED TO THE NEAREST TIRE SHOP TO REPLACE THE HORRIBLE BRIDGESTONE H/T'S WITH BRIDGESTONE ALENZA'S, THEIR HIGHEST RATED TIRE FOR MY VEHICLE. I AM NOW ABLE TO DRIVE IN THE SAME SNOW WITH NO PROBLEM AT ALL. WHY IS HONDA ALLOWED TO PUT SUCH POOR TIRES ON THEIR CARS, AND WHY IS BRIDGESTONE ALLOWED TO SELL SUCH POOR TIRES? *TR
