AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE PRECEDING VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED BRUISES AND CONTUSIONS THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED. TAKATA RECALL NOTIFIED OF RECALL 2/12/16, LOCAL DEALER CONTINUALLY SAYS THAT REPLACEMENT PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE. AFTER SEVEN MONTHS, THIS IS INTOLERABLE. HONDA SHOULD BE PROHIBITED FROM SELLING FURTHER VEHICLES IN THE US.

THE CONTACT PULLED ONTO THE SHOULDER, OPENED THE HOOD, AND NOTICED SMOKE COMING FROM THE AIR CONDITIONER COMPRESSOR. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE AIR CONDITIONER COMPRESSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 95,000.

RACK AND PINION HAD TO BE REPLACED AND I HAVE HAD TO GET SEVERAL NEW TIRES DUE TO THE ISSUE. STRANGE NOISE AND OF COARSE DEALERSHIP RESPONDED LIKE THEY WOULD REALLY HAVE TO TAKE A LOOK AT IT EVEN THOUGH IT SEEMS TO BE AN ONGOING PROBLEM WITH THIS CAR. THEY KNEW IMMEDIATELY WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS .....
WHEN UNLOCKING THE DOORS USING KEY BUTTON OR DRIVER DOOR BUTTON, A LONG WIRED SOUND IS COMING FROM THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR AND THE DOOR IS UNLOCKED. WHEN I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER THEY TOLD THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR ACTUATOR IS BROKEN AND TOLD THERE IS A RECALL OF THE ACTUATOR ONLY FOR THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR. IS THERE ANY OPTION AVAILABLE FROM HONDA FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF THE ACTUATOR FOR THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR.

I HAVE KEY WITH DOOR LOCKS ON IT, WHEN I UNLOCK THE CAR, IT AUTOMATICALLY LOCKS AGAIN, WITHOUT PUSHING THE OTHER BUTTON TO LOCK IT. ALSO, THE A/C HAS BEEN FIXED 4 TIMES AND WITHIN A WEEK , JUST BLOWS OUT WARM AIR, HAVE TAKEN TO SEVERAL MECHANICS, HONDA DEALER/GARAGE SAYS THEY WONT FIX UNLESS THERE IS A RECALL
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM OR MOTOR THAT CONTROLS DOORS LOCKING AND UNLOCKING MAKES NOISES AND SOMETIMES DOES NOT LOCK THE DOORS. ALSO, WHEN I AM DRIVING DRIVERS SIDE DOORS IN FRONT AND BACK LOCK AND UNLOCK THEM SELVES. ? 2 YEARS AGO I HAD TO PAY TO HAVE THE PASSAGER SIDE MOTOR FOR THE DOOR LOCKS REPAIRED, NOW THE DRIVERS SIDE IS GOING OUT. I WOULD LIKE HONDA TO FIX THIS AT NO COST TO ME. IS THERE A RECALL FOR THIS?

THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY AND THE COMPUTER SYSTEM FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DEEMED DESTROYED. THE CONTACT INJURIES WERE NOT YET DETERMINED HOWEVER, MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS REQUIRED. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 315,000.
I TOOK VEHICLE IN FOR SAFETY RECALL LAST YEAR ON DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR. DEALER TOLD ME MY VEHICLE WAS NOT AFFECTED SO NOTHING WAS DONE. RECALL ENDED NOV 7 2015 AND NOW I AM HAVING SERIOUS ISSUES WITH DOOR LOCKS. DOORS LOCK IMMEDIATELY AFTER UNLOCKING WHETHER USING KEY FOB, DOOR LOCK ON DOOR, OR WHEN THE DOORS SELF UNLOCK WHEN THE CAR IS STOPPED AND PUT IN PARK. THE DOOR UNLOCKS AS IT IS SUPPOSED TO BUT IMMEDIATELY RELOCKS ALL DOORS. PASSENGER UNLOCKS THEIR DOOR AND IF THEY DON'T CATCH THE LATCH TO OPEN THE DOOR QUICKLY, IT WILL AUTOMATICALLY RELOCK. I CAN'T TAKE MY CAR TO THE CARWASH IN FEAR THAT SOMEONE WILL LOCK MY KEYS INSIDE. KEYS IN IGNITION, ENGINE ON AND I GET OUT TO CLOSE MY GATE, THE DOORS RELOCK. IF I DIDN'T HEAR IT LOCK AND SHUT MY DOOR, MY CAR WOULD BE RUNNING IN PARK WITH DOORS LOCKED. THINK IF I HAD MY GRAND CHILDREN INSIDE WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING AND I CAN'T GET INSIDE. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE. THIS STARTED HAPPENING REGULARLY AROUND JANUARY 2016 PAST THE RECALL. TO FIX THIS MYSELF WILL COST HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS.

THE TAILGATE AND REAR PASSENGER SIDE DOOR WILL LOCK AND CANNOT BE UNLOCKED. THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE. THE FIRST TIME IN NOVEMBER 2015 STAYED LOCKED FOR TWO DAYS. THE SECOND TIME WAS DECEMBER 19, 2015 AND STAYED LOCKED FOR FOUR HOURS. THE DEALERSHIP SAYS CANNOT DETERMINE PROBLEM AS BY THE TIME OF APPOINTMENT THE DOORS HAD UNLOCKED. THE AMERICAN HONDA CORP SAYS CAN ONLY BE FIXED IF ABLE TO TAKE VEHICLE TO DEALERSHIP WHILE LOCKED. THE LOCKING OF DOORS OCCURS WHEN STOPPING AND GETTING READY TO GET OUT OF VEHICLE. THE ACTUATOR OF THE DRIVERS DOOR AND PASSENGER DOOR HAVE BEEN CHANGED, ONE COVERED BY HONDA, MOST RECENT I HAD TO PAY. HONDA CORP DOES NOT HAVE INFO OF POSSIBLE PROBLEM FIXED ON OTHER VEHICLES SO I COULD TELL DEALERSHIP.
I GOT A DRIVER SIDE DOOR LOCK RECALL DONE AT HONDA IN ALLENTOWN PA..SINCE THEN THE PASSENGER LOCKS HAVEN'T WORKED RIGHT..I COULD HEAR THEM LOCKING OR UNLOCKING WHILE DRIVING THE CAR AND NOW THEY DON'T LOCK RIGHT WITH THE KEY (BEEN DOING THAT FOR MONTHS) YESTERDAY I WENT TO OPEN THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR (NO KIDS LOCKS THERE) AND IT WAS LOCKED WHILE ALL OTHERS OPENED WITH THE KEY..STANDING ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE I NOTICED THE LOCK MOVING ON ITS OWN TO LOCK THE CAR...MY GRANDDAUGHTER WAS IN THE BACK AND COULD NOT OPEN HER DOOR..AND HONDA TOLD ME THE RECALL ONLY COVERED THE DRIVERS' SIDE..NOW AFTER HAVING THE LOCK PROBLEM ..I'VE HAD A PROBLEM FOR THE LAST MONTH WITH THE CAR STARTING..IT WON'T TURN OVER BUT IF YOU WAIT AND TRY AGAIN IT WILL..THE SERVICE STATION SAID BATTERY WAS BIT LOW..WE PUT IN A NEW ONE..IT DOES NOT TURN OVER AT ALL NOW..THEY TOWED..PUT IN NEW STARTER..SEEMED TO FIX IT..AFTER DRIVING ABOUT 50 MILES..I CAME HOME ..WENT TO USE THE NEXT DAY AND IT WON'T START OR TURN OVER AGAIN..AND PUT IN NEW RELAY..STILL NOTHING ..THEN I NOTICED THE DOOR LOCKING ITSELF ..KEYS OUT OF CAR..NOT IN USE OR BUMPED
THE TIPS OF THE WINDSHIELD WASHER FLUID DISPENSER FREEZES IN REALLY COLD TEMPERATURES AND DIDN'T UNFREEZE UNTIL THE TEMPERATURE GOT TO 44 DEGREES. SO WE DROVE OVER ONE HOUR IN THE SNOW WITH NO WINDSHIELD WASHER FLUID AND COULDN'T SEE OUT THE FRONT WINDSHIELD WITH ALL THE DIRTY SNOW AND MUD SMEARING ON THE WINDSHIELD. WE PUT FRESH WATER ON THE WINDSHIELD BUT THAT KEPT IT CLEAN FOR ABOUT ONE MILE ONLY. THIS WAS DRIVING ON HWY. 80 IN THE SIERRA'S. IT WAS VERY SCARY AND DANGEROUS.
I WAS DRIVING MY CAR ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN ALL THE LIGHTS ON THE DASHBOARD TURNED ON (CHECK ENGINE, CHECK BATTERRY, CHECK TIRES ETC). SO I PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY AND TURNED OFF THE CAR AND TRIED TURNING IT BACK ON AND IT WOULD NOT TURN ON. YOU COULD HEAR THE ENGINE CRANKING BUT IT WOULD NOT TURN ON. AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS I CALLED A TOW TRUCK AND HAD MY CAR TOWED TO THE RICK CASE HONDA DEALER WHERE MY CAR HAD RECENTLY BEEN SERVICED. AFTER HAVING MY CAR CHECKED FOR A WHOLE DAY I WAS TOLD THAT MY ENGINE HAD BLOWN AND I NEEDED A NEW ENGINE. THE HONDA SVC ADVISOR TOLD ME THE CAR HAD OVERHEATED AND THAT'S WHY THE ENGINE BLEW. I EXPLAINED TO HIM THE CAR NEVER OVERHEATED BC THE TEMPERATURE GAUGE NEVER WENT PAST THE NORMAL TEMPERATURE. WHEN I WENT TO PICK UP MY CAR I SPOKE TO THE SHOP FOREMAN AND HE TOLD ME A METAL PIPE THAT HOLDS THE COOLANT HAD CRACKED AND ALL THE COOLANT LEAKED OUT AND THAT'S WHAT CAUSED THE ENGINE TO OVERHEAT AND BLOW. HE COULDN'T TELL ME WHAT CAUSED THE METAL PIPE TO CRACK. AFTER TAKING MY CAR TO HAVE THE ENGINE REPLACED I WAS TOLD THAT THE METAL PIPE THAT CRACKED WAS WORN OUT AT A SPECIFIC SPOT AND THAT'S WHAT CAUSED THE METAL PIPE TO CRACK. I TRIED CALLING THE HONDA DEALER TO EXPLAIN THIS BC NOT TOO LONG BEFORE MY CAR HAD SOME HOSES REPLACED IN THE SAME AREA WHERE THE METAL PIPE WAS LOCATED BUT THE DEALER AND CORPORATE HONDA SAY I HAVE NO PROOF THAT THE WORK THEY DID PRIOR WAS WHAT CAUSED THE FRICTION TO THE METAL PIPE LEADING IT TO CRACK. I EXPLAINED IT WAS ODD THAT THE REST OF THE METAL PIPE WAS IN GOOD CONDITION EXCEPT THAT ONE SPOT WHERE THE CRACK WAS BUT THEY REFUSED TO LISTEN. HAD I NOT PULLED OVER WHEN THE LIGHTS ON THE DASHBOARD TURNED ON AND I KEPT DRIVING ON THE HWY WHO KNOWS WHAT COULD HAVE HAPPENED TO ME OR OTHERS ON THE HWY. I FEEL THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE BUT HONDA STATES NOT ENOUGH PPLE HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT THIS.
BROUGHT MY CR-V IN FOR ROUTINE SERVICE AND TIRES WAS TOLD BY MECHANIC STATED THAT POWER STEERING RACK N PINION WAS LEAKING AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. I PURCHASED A HONDA FOR DURABILITY BUT APPARENTLY THIS PARTICULAR YEAR MODEL HAS HAD PROBLEMS WITH STEERING FROM SEVERAL CONSUMERS AND SHOULD BE RECALLED.
HEADLAMPS BLOW OUT WITH FRIGHTENING REGULARITY; THEY LAST NO MORE THAN 3-6 MONTHS. THIS IS NOT DUE TO CONTAMINATION ON THE GLASS, AS THE BLOWOUT DOES NOT OCCUR THERE. IT MAY BE A HIGH VOLTAGE PROBLEM, AS THE HEADLAMP SOCKET HAS PARTIALLY MELTED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS AS A RESULT OF A BLOWOUT. BOTH DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDES HAVE BEEN REPLACED WITH HEAVY DUTY/HIGH TEMP SOCKETS, AND YET LAMPS CONTINUE TO BLOW AND HAVE MELTED THOSE. THE BLOWOUTS HAVE OCCURRED BOTH WHEN THE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY (STARTING) AND WHILE IN MOTION. IF BOTH HEADLAMPS GO OUT BEFORE YOU CAN REPLACE THE BLOWN OUT ONE, THEN IT BECOMES A POTENTIAL CAUSE OF A NIGHT-TIME COLLISION. IF IT WAS ONLY AN ISSUE WITH HEADLIGHTS GOING OUT, THAT WOULD BE AN EXPENSE WORTH MANAGING FOR AN OTHERWISE SOLID CAR. BUT THE MELTING OF THE SOCKET AND POTENTIAL FOR ADDITIONAL SHORTS AND ARCING IS TROUBLING AS IT MAY LEAD TO FIRE. MANY CR-V OWNERS HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT AND REPORTED THIS VERY ISSUE. NHTSA NEEDS TO FORCE HONDA TO INVESTIGATE AND RESOLVE THIS VERY, VERY COMMON PROBLEM.

THE DEALER COMPLETED A RECALL REPAIR FOR THE DOOR ACTUATOR AND, SHORTLY AFTER THE REPAIR, THE ALARM RANDOMLY SOUNDED AND LOCKED THE CONTACT INSIDE THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER REPLACED THE DOOR ACTUATOR A SECOND, TIME BUT THE CONTACT WAS UNCERTAIN IF THE PART WAS ACTUALLY REPLACED. THE SUSPENSION WAS ALSO UNSTABLE AND CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO WOBBLE. IN ADDITION, THE BRAKE PEDAL FELT SPONGY AND WAS DIFFICULT TO ENGAGE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MORE THAN TWO DEALERS FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
WHEN I WAS DRIVING I HIT AN 8 POINT BUCK. THE FRONT OF THE CAR WAS SEVERELY DAMAGED. NO ONE WAS HURT, BUT WE WERE SURPRISED THAT THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY.
I NOTICED A LOUD SOUND WHEN I WOULD TURN MY CAR TO THE LEFT OR RIGHT. WHEN I TOOK IT INTO THE HONDA SERVICE CENTER, I WAS TOLD I NEEDED TO HAVE MY POWER STEERING RACK REPLACED BECAUSE OF A CRACK IN IT. I WAS TOLD POWER STEERING FLUID WAS LEAKING OUT.
