Data synced from NHTSA on May 4, 2026
The contact owns a 2008 Honda CR-V. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V228000 (Structure) however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.
The contact owns a 2008 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that while her son was driving at 35 MPH, the rear subframe detached. The vehicle was towed to the residence. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V228000 (Structure). The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 155,000.
The door lock actuators are failing, causing the doors to lock or unlock almost every time I speed up from a stop. The passenger door defaults to lock almost at all times, when unlocked it will relock within 3 seconds.
The doors keep locking and locking during driving. This is a major safety concern for minor children and safety when car is in motion. And the door locks don’t stay locked when parked. There for my car is open to theft and I am not safe nor are my minor children in the car.
Door Not Latching Properly NHTSA Recall ID: 12V338000 My doors on my 2008 Problems with the CR-V door locks include: Door not latching properly Doors not unlocking Doors locking and unlocking on their own Was not made aware of the recall to fix this issue. I would like Honda to fix this issue for Free at my Delaership
The paint seal never worked or was out in. I’m in the Midwest and it’s freezing. The car can’t warm up because all the heat goes through roof where paint is all worn off. It makes you freeze and sick.
hit from rear and seat belt popped out of housing and stripped or extended all the way out. Will not retract, major injury to right breast.
The contact owns a 2008 Honda CR-V. The contact stated while driving 35 MPH, the vehicle hesitated and failed to respond as needed while depressing the accelerator pedal. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the failure occurred intermittently while driving. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 11V395000 (Power Train) however, the VIN was not included. Additionally, the vehicle was bouncing abnormally while driving. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where an alignment was performed; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000.
The passenger airbag light stays on after the car is started and in motion. Regardless if there is a passenger seated or not. The car was taken in to the dealership during the recalls on takata airbag replacement. The passenger airbag light was off and now the light been staying on. I am extremely concern if my family or someone else gets into an accident, the airbag won’t deploy or may randomly deploy on its own.
Honda body shop switched and stripped components/ parts of my vehicle when State Farm Adjustor wrote the repair assessment like it was in a high speed head on collision when it was actually a left side fender bender. That’s fraud… but nonetheless, State Farm agreed to fix the car. It’s a Honda CR/V that has had the engine replaced now but it’s having drivetrain issues. It rattles and violently vibrates upon takeoff (Automatic transmission) and when going uphill. It has electrical problems due to rodent chewing soy based electrical wires. I’ve replaced myself many components such as axle CV, electrical, fans, air conditioner, starters (3 in past two years) and basically had to rebuild the entire front end because the Honda body shop was using my car for a parts car. Curry Honda in Chamblee GA. Honda has refused to acknowledge any issues. 2008 Honda CR-V has drivetrain issues probably related to the software which Honda charges $150-200 every time just to clear a code. They don’t work with 3rd party parts providers and like Apple, are monopolizing their car company making it unsafe to take your car anywhere but to a Honda dealer for things as simple as an oil change. They want you to get your battery and fluids there, refusing to share specs with anyone else. This should be illegal as Apple recently has had lawsuits for trying to monopolize their screen replacement and repairs. Trying to get customers to only go to Apple for repair, rendering your phone useless unless you pay Apple again for repairs. Honda company is not customer focused, the dealers are out to make money off every single thing the car needs and their system is designed for no DIYers to fix much at all.
Honda is aware of an issue affecting many CR-V's. Honda has recently issued a recall of the 2007-2011 model-year CR-V's in Canada for a rusting problem that could result in a rear suspension control arm separating from the vehicle. This recall applies to vehicles in all provinces from Ontario east, which experience heavy road salt usage and humid operating environments. Dealers were instructed to inspect the rear frame stiffeners and to apply corrosion protection. When a vehicle does not pass the inspection, Honda will offer to repurchase it. My son is 17 years old and is driving an affected CR-V. We live near Detroit in Michigan. I contacted Honda USA and lodged a complaint. I was given the following case #013293139 and instructed to set an appointment with a local Honda dealership for an inspection. Following the inspection, I was told and given a service invoice which stated, "SUBFRAME INSPECTION FOR HONDA CASE NUMBER 13293139 TECH FOUND REAR OF FRAME RUSTED THROUGH, TECH ADVISED STARTING WITH REMOVING REAR PART OF FRAME AND WELDING IN NEW METAL. VEHICLE NOT SAFE TO OPERATE IN CURRENT CONDITION. AMERICAN HONDA WILL NOT COVER REPAIR." This rust problem also affects other Honda vehicles and Honda is slowly issuing recalls. Recently, American Honda recalled 2006-2014 Ridgelines for "Rear Frame Corrosion." I would like Honda to repair my son's CR-V. This is not normal wear and tear. The corrosion problem continues to be focused on the rear driver side (subframe mounting to frame) of Honda vehicles. This is not safe for the public and this is not an acceptable response from American Honda as noted in the service invoice response listed above.
While driving my front passenger door lock will start unlocking and relocking on my 2008 Honda CRV. I have been told the door locking actuator has failed. While at a stop light my doors became unlocked and I did not know it, and someone opened my passenger door. I was able to drive off but this is a huge safety issue. Also I can lock my doors after exiting vehicle and randomly they will unlock. My car is now left vulnerable to theft. I contacted my local dealership and was told my driver door actuator was replaced under a recall, but not the others. I was told if I want the other defective ones replaced I must pay hundreds of dollars for each. I am an older woman and am afraid to drive my car without working door locks. I do not feel safe and anyone/anything in my car is not safe.
This did not happen due to an accident. When I park my car and lock the car the passenger door in the front does not stay locked. I have manually locked it and the latch is moving over I believe this is called the Aactuator. I believe there has been a recall and now I see no recalls. This is unsafe for me and it does need to be fixed as it is a issue with how they made the vehicle.
Door lock actuators failing, makes a loud buzzing noise when locking and sometimes locks and unlocks on its own when I’m driving. There are no recalls coming up, however I was informed of a class action lawsuit against Honda regarding the door lock issues with 2007-2011 Honda CRV’s.
Just bought this used and am already having transmission issues. Happy to have it available for an inspection. My safety, the safety of their drivers and that of my passengers is put at risk frequently. The engine shudders at certain speeds under40. In order to remedy that it is necessary for me to take my foot off the gas with no warning of brake lights. I haven’t taken it to a Honda dealer yet but after I bought this CRV a month ago I learned they are rank with transmission issues. There is no warning in any way, shape or form other than the sudden shuddering which can range from a gentle shudder to one that feels like the car is falling apart. I don’t know when this issue started but may be why it’s been sold via private sale several times.
The contact owns a 2008 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that the steering wheel would emit a high pitch squeaking noise whenever turning and upon initial l start of the vehicle. There were no warning lights. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer who stated that there was a leak causing the rack n pinion had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The failure had reoccurred approximately 2 months after. The vehicle was returned to the dealer who had not repaired the vehicle a second time due to the repair no longer being covered under warranty. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 77,000.
The contact's son owned a 2008 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that while her son was driving at approximately 35 MPH, the rear axle detached from the vehicle. No warning lights were illuminated. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a local dealer. The vehicle was then towed on two occasions to two separate independent mechanics, who related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V228000 (Structure) and deemed the vehicle inoperable. The vehicle was not repaired and was towed to a salvage yard. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 130,000. The VIN was not available.
Approximately six months to one year ago, a screeching sound was audible anytime I would lock or unlock the doors in my 2008 Honda CR-V. I researched the issue and found out that this vehicle has a known problem with its actuators, and that Honda was successfully sued in 2015 resulting in an extension of the warranty on the part. I inherited this vehicle from my grandmother, and I found out from Honda that she did in fact have the part replaced in 2015, yet it has started to fail again, and Honda is refusing to fix it. The problem is that this failure causes the doors to automatically relock themselves after being unlocked. Obviously, this creates a serious safety concern should it become necessary to exit the vehicle in the event of an emergency. I don't believe it should be the owners responsibility to pay to have this part replaced AGAIN after Honda replaced their defective part with an equally defective one.
The contact owns a 2008 Honda CR-V. The contact stated while pulling out a parking lot, she attempted to lock the doors to the vehicle however, the locks failed to operate as designed. The contact attempted to lock the doors unsuccessfully. The contact stated that she had received an unknown recall notification previously for Latches/Locks/Linkages and the vehicle was repaired under recall. The contact was unsure about the recall campaign information. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing and the contact was informed that the rear passenger’s side door failed to latch and the door latch needed to be replaced. The contact was informed that the recall had expired 11/7/2015. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 223,035.
All 5 automatic door locks failed to open causing me to be locked inside the car. After many minutes and retrying the key fob I was able to exit via the front passenger door. Later that same day once returning home I was locked out of all 5 doors. The car was towed and the left front door and right rear door actuators were replaced. These had previously been recalled and replaced on extended warrenty in 2015. The failure of the locks this last week are acutally the Honda approved replacements. The problem was reproduced by the repairing garage. Odd sounds from the doors had been heard prior to the breakdown.
The contact owns a 2008 Honda CR-V. The contact stated while driving approximately 20-25 MPH, the rear passenger's side frame stiffeners detached and separated from the vehicle. The contact veered to the side of the road. The vehicle was towed to the contact's residence. Additionally, the contact stated that the frame stiffeners were severely rusted. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 262,000.
The contact owns a 2008 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that while driving 62 MPH, a popping noise was heard and the steering wheel became uncontrollable. The driver was able to pull to the shoulder and stop the vehicle and noticed the steering wheel was positioned at an angle and the vehicle could no longer be safely driven. The vehicle was later towed to an independent mechanic who diagnosed the front control arm had fractured due to severe corrosion. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The local dealer and manufacturer was not yet notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 166,000.
A lot smog come out from the wood the A/C stop working
When attempting to lock the doors with either the key fob or from inside the vehicle, the back door locks stay open. The front passenger door also makes a loud buzzing noise but stays locked. This is an issue when the auto lock function kicks in after every stop sign or red traffic light. I don’t want to leave the car in public spaces for fear of someone entering my vehicle unbeknownst to me. The original vehicle owner had no recollection of any correspondence, by mail or otherwise, related to the 2007-2011 Honda C-RV recalls for this issue.
My door lock actuator have been malfunctioning in right rear passenger, left passenger and driver sides. It makes a buzzing and gun shooting sound. Recently my door ajar alert has been coming on if I slightly touch driver door. My alarm is also starting go go off by itself due to the door lock actuators malfunctioning.
While driving my 2008 CRV this morning, the right rear wheel became disengaged from the frame rail. When I had it towed to a local garage, the mechanic took one look and said that corrosion had allowed the rear control arm bolt to rust through and that is could probably not be repaired. We went to his computer and punched in recall information for my car. He said that there had been a recall for this extremely dangerous flaw but that it was limited to Canada. That makes no sense to me. I could easily have been in a very serious accident, as there was virtually no warning that this would happen. I’ve been researching this issue since I returned to my home, and there are 100s of complaints about this exact issue! Please help me understand how this has not generated a Honda recall. Thank You!
Rear-door passenger actuators have stopped working one at a time. Honda dealership refused to perform the repaire free of charge. However there was a lawsuits in 2021(?) to have Honda cover the charges free of cost to customers!
Failure of all Door Locks. I purchased my 2008 Honda CRV new in 2008. While driving all door locks move up and down or open and close and cannot be locked or open with the remote device. After checking on line, I see there have been recalls of similar problems with this model. I called First Honda in Simi Valley, CA and was told there was a recall but not for my 2008 Honda. This is for sure a safety problem which amazes me when companies that build these cars have so many problems. I understand that if I need to repair the five locks it will cost me over a $1000. I am a senior citizen with limited income and cannot afford a new car so I am between a rock and a hard place. If there is a recall out there, please let me know so I can get this problem fixed. Thank you
Front passenger door unlock while driving and makes a weird noise while driving i feel unsafe driving with the noise and the door being unlock, first it started unlocking and locking then it get worse within a few days, I feel unsafe driving with my child in the vehicle while its like this
Hello Sir/Madam, I own 2008 HONDA CR V. Yesterday when I tried to start my car, I head loud abnormal loud noise and the MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LIGHT LIT ON the dash board. Since the noise was very abnormal and very loud, I decided not to drive the car. Next, I searched on internet to see if other Honda owners have same issue. I went to https://owners.honda.com/servicemaintenance/recalls?id= website and found the following. HONDA IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2005-2010 ACCORD, 2007-2010 CR-V, AND 2005-2008 ELEMENT PASSENGER CARS MANUFACTURED FROM JULY 1, 2004, THROUGH SEPTEMBER 3, 2010. THE OUTER RACE OF THE SECONDARY SHAFT BEARING MAY BE BROKEN DURING CERTAIN DRIVING STYLES. A BROKEN OUTER RACE MAY CAUSE ABNORMAL NOISE, THE MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LIGHT TO TURN ON, AND ALLOW CONTACT BETWEEN THE TRANSMISSION IDLE GEAR AND AN ELECTRONIC SENSOR HOUSING WITHIN THE TRANSMISSION. SAFETY RISK: THIS COULD RESULT IN A SHORT CIRCUIT CAUSING THE ENGINE TO STALL. ADDITIONALLY, BROKEN PIECES OF THE OUTER RACE OR BALL BEARING FROM THE SECONDARY SHAFT MAY BECOME LODGED IN THE PARKING PAWL RESULTING IN THE VEHICLE ROLLING AFTER THE DRIVER HAS PLACED THE GEAR SELECTOR IN THE PARK POSITION. ENGINE STALL AND UNEXPECTED VEHICLE MOVEMENT INCREASES THERISK OF A CRASH OR PERSONAL INJURY TO PERSONS WITHIN THE PATH OF AROL LING VEHICLE. Then I called AutoNation Honda O'Hare dealer in Des Plaines , IL and explained my issue. I was told by the dealership that my VIN number is not covered in spite of me having exactly the same issue as described in HONDA'S RECALL CAMPAIGN NUMBER R89 and that I will have to pay for the diagnosis and repair. Next I called American Honda corporation and explained my issue. I was told that my VIN number is not covered in spite of me having exactly the same issue as described in HONDA'S RECALL CAMPAIGN NUMBER R89 and that I will have to pay for the diagnosis. This is serious SAFETY ISSUE and American Honda Corporation is putting my safety as risk.
THE DOOR LOCKS ARE NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY. I HAD A CHILD IN MY CARE WHEN AT ONE TIME THE DOORS WOULD NOT OPEN AT ALL. THANKFULLY ONE WINDOW WAS DOWN AND ALLOWED ME TO CLIMB THROUGH AND GET TO THE BABY. I HAD TO CLIMB THROUGH TO THE BACK AND MANUALLY GET THE BACK HATCH TO OPEN. THE DOORS WOULD NOT UNLOCK. THEY WILL UNLOCK NOW BUT THE REAR DRIVER DOOR WILL NOT LOCK AT ALL. THE LOCKS LOCK AND UNLOCK AS I AM DRIVING AND HAVE A HORRIBLE BUZZING NOISE. THESE LOCKS ARE NOT SAFE!
I had my car in the shop as I had an issue with my starter. The mechanic sent us photos as he found as serious problem with rust and corrosion around the rear axle. He thought it would be okay to drive home (not after that). He was wrong and the rear axle fell off. My dad was driving and as far as I know he is okay. I did research and it seems the Vins starting with 5 were made in Ohio (I bought the car in Ohio) and it the message boards are correct, were in the same batch as the Canadian ones they recalled. They have not recalled these in the U.S. for the rear axle but they did in Canada. Why? I drive my son every other weekend hours each way as his dad lives out of state. We travel I-65, I-70, and highways. We could have died! Honda needs to recall these immediately before someone dies. Please let me know if you need more photos. I will take more photos when the tow driver gets my car home.
Rear door lock is malfunctioning. Sometimes it will lock when lock button is depressed. Other times it won't. Sometimes it will lock, but then unlock itself shortly after. This is a safety issue, since we are located in a high-crime area, Berkeley, CA, where car thefts, carjackings and car break-ins are common. There were no warning signs, lamps or other symptoms prior to this problem. Just started happening in the past few months. Started as an occasional problem, but has become persistent.
HAD DRIVERS SIDE DOOR LOCK FIXED UNDER RECALL THEY DIDNT FIX THE PASSENGER AND DOOR WOULDN'T UNLOCK WITH MY PREGNANT DAUGHTER IN CAR PLUS WOULD UNLOCK WHILE DRIVING DOWN ROAD TOOK TO NOURSE HONDA TO HAVE FIXED COST ME 483.03 TO FIX ON 6/18/2021 AND WHILE DRIVING MY GRANDDAUGHTER TO WORK PASSENGER DOOR WOULD NOT UNLOCK ON 7/1/2021 I CALLED THE NOURSE REPAIR CENTER AND LEFT 2 VOICE MESSAGES WITH NO RETURN CALLS
Purchased vehicle in 2020. The rear door behind driver locking actuator went out. Honda repaired for $250 since recall stopped. Last month, both the front passenger and rear passenger locking actuators went out (another $250 each door). Doors lock and unlock on their own. Safety issue.
My vehicle mobile assist light came on it will not go off it is preventing my car from accelerating and stalls when I do try to accelerate
THE DOOR LOCKS ARE NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY OR CONSISTENTLY AS MANY PRIOR COMPLAINTS STATED. THE DOORS CAN NOT BE SECURED AT ALL TIMES, EVEN WHEN VEHICLE WAS MOVING.
This vehicle had a wheel separation while traveling at low speed. The right rear wheel separated from the car. The cause is excessive rust to the trailing arm and specifically to the subframe to which the trailing arm is attached. The car is available for inspection. I also have photographs that show the problem. The safety issue is clear. After separation the car cannot be controlled if in motion. This particular vehicle has not been inspected. The wheel separation was reported by me to Honda in North America, to "Chris" in "client relations." A case number was issued for my complaint, #00499145. An insurance claim was made, but the insurer denied the claim. My research shows that this model CRV has been recalled in Canada for this precise problem. In Canada, Honda states that this model CRV has "excessive" rust, leading to failure. Further, that the problem is not readily apparent on inspection, and in fact this car is inspected annually as part of North Carolina licensure, and no inspection ever revealed the excessive rust threat. Here is the Honda press release: " January 23, 2019 Honda has voluntarily recalled approximately 83,953 2007-2011 CR-V vehicles in Canada to address potential excessive corrosion to the rear frame stiffener(s). On affected vehicles, one or both rear frame stiffener(s) may become excessively corroded over time. Such excessive corrosion may be more prevalent where a vehicle is regularly operated in regions where road de-icing salt is frequently used during the winter season. Although a certain amount of corrosion is expected to occur from everyday operation of the vehicle, excessive corrosion to the rear frame may result in frame stiffener perforation and, in extreme cases, cause the rear-trailing arm to separate from the vehicle’s frame structure. A separated rear-trailing arm may cause the vehicle to be difficult to control, increasing the risk of a crash."
Incident started after putting car into drive, as the started to move I heard what sounded like a cell phone being dropped on the floorboard. That did not happen. I proceeded to pull out into road. While driving on road, wheels seemed sweervy/shaky. I kept my speed lower. Stopped vehicle, inspected wheels. Lug nuts and tires were tight. Told husband, he test drove car, kept speed low, on way home, driver, rear tire started to pull out from car. After pulling into driveway and inspecting car, driver, rear frame appeared to be completely corroded. Had car towed to look at by family friend, he said the whole frame was corroded and continued to fall apart moving forward up the frame. We researched the problem and heard there was a recall on this issue in Canada. We had no choice but to by a differ car at that time and no one thankfully hurt. We still have car on our property for any inspection needed.
POWER LOCKS, LOCK AND UNLOCK ON THEIR OWN RANDOMLY. THIS HAPPENS WHILE DRIVING AND WHILE PARKED. THIS HAS HAPPENED SO FAST AFTER PARKING, THAT I HAVE NOT EVEN HAD TIME TO OPEN THE BACK DOORS AND GET MY CHILDREN OUT. HAD I NOT GRABBED MY KEYS, THEY COULD HAVE BEEN LOCKED INSIDE THE CAR ALONE! THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE! IT HAPPENS WHILE DRIVING, WHILE PARKED, WITH THE KEY IN THE IGNITION AND WITH THE CAR COMPLETELY TURNED OFF AND THE KEY REMOVED.
The contact owns a 2008 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that the front and rear passenger's side doors failed to lock as designed. There were no warning lights illuminated. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was approximately 96,000.
All 4 Door locks failed. Yes it is available for inspection upon request. The safety of anyone who is inside the vehicle is at risk. Yes the problem has been confirmed by an independent service center. It has been inspected by an ASE certified mechanic. There was not any warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms of the problem prior to the first failure. An OBD2 scanner didn't show the vehicle as to having any issues with it as well. The day after I bought this car, the locks will lock and unlock while driving the car and when the car is turned off as well. I don't have any of the key fobs that go to the car, only the Valet key that doesn't have any buttons on it, and only locks and unlocks vehicle through the keyhole on driver's door. After class dismissal at 10pm, I went to enter the vehicle, but looked inside it just in case, and knowing the locks didn't work properly, and saw a man laying in the back of the car. I walked over to another class member close by and called campus security. The man must have heard us and got out of the car and ran. While running a gun fell to the ground but was reported stolen, he's still out there. I just purchased the vehicle 8 months ago and won't drive it anymore due to the faulty door locks. There isn't a recall on the locks and why should I have to pay Honda to replace them with another set of locks that could have the same issue. I was lucky that I was able to get a ride back and forth to school but lost my job due to lack of transportation. I'm out $5800, a car, a job, facing eviction, and now on psychological medicine due to faulty door locks. This is my 3rd and last Honda I will ever own. Thanks Honda.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 HONDA CR-V. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DRIVER'S SIDE PASSENGER DOOR LATCH FAILED. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO LATCH THE DOOR MANUALLY AND THE DOOR ALSO FAILED TO LATCH WITH THE MASTER LATCH DOOR SYSTEM. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 161,250.
THE ARM MOUNT FAILED WHILE DRIVING. THIS HAS BEEN RECALLED IN CANADA BUT NOT IN THE US. I JUST PURCHASED THIS THE CAR WAS IN GOOD SHAPE WITH A VALID INSPECTION AND COULD HAVE CAUSED SEVERE HARM HAD WE BEEN DRIVING QUICKLY. WE WERE DRIVING 15 MILES MPH AS WE WERE IN A RESIDENTIAL AREA. THE ARM GAVE OUT.
SAFETY RECALL CONCERN - THE DOORS DO NOT STAY LOCKED WHEN CAR IS AT A STANDSTILL/IN MOTION. WHEN DRIVING THEY INTERMITTENTLY LOCK/UNLOCK. I BROUGHT THIS CONCERN TO THE ATTENTION OF MY MECHANIC, WHO INFORMED ME THAT (2) ACTUATORS - (1) BACK & (1) FRONT - NEED TO BE REPLACED, I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE FROM A USED CAR LOT ABOUT A YEAR & A HALF AGO. I RECENTLY LEARNED THAT A RECALL PERTAINING TO THIS PROBLEM WAS ISSUED 6/30/15. ACCORDING TO NHTSA WEBSITE, THERE ARE 0 UNREPAIRED RECALLS ON MY VEHICLE. AM I INELIGIBLE FOR THIS RECALL SIMPLY BECAUSE I'M NOT THE ORIGINAL OWNER OF THE VEHICLE? I'M A FEMALE AND WOULD LIKE TO FEEL SAFE WHILE DRIVING AROUND ALONE IN MY VEHICLE. THIS IS IMPOSSIBLE TO DO WHEN THE DOORS SIMPLY UNLOCK ON THEIR OWN.
WHILE DRIVING MY VEHICLE AND MAKING A TURN IN A RESIDENTIAL AREA THE STEERING WHEEL GOT STIFF AND FELT AS IF THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED I WAS ABLE TO TURN BUT VERY SLOWLY AS IF THE CAR WERE IN NEUTRAL ALMOST FELT LIKE IDLING. I CHECKED MY STEERING FLUID LEVEL AND IT WAS AT THE PROPER LEVEL SO I'M NOT TOO SURE WHAT IS GOING ON BUT I'VE BEEN READING UP ON THIS ISSUE AND FIND IT TO BE COMMON WITH THIS GENERATION OF HONDA CR-VS. I WILL BE TAKING MY VEHICLE TO A MECHANIC TO BE LOOKED AT IMMEDIATELY BUT FEEL THIS IS SOMETHING THAT SHOULD BE LOOKED INTO I HAVE NEVER FELT MORE UNSAFE DRIVING THAN WHEN THAT HAPPENED IT WAS A VERY SCARY FEELING AND I AM THANKFUL THAT THE SPEED OF TRAFFIC WAS NOT FAST PACED OTHERWISE I WOULD HAVE VERY LIKELY BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 HONDA CR-V. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER PARKING THE VEHICLE AND SHUTTING OFF THE ENGINE, THE VEHICLE ERRONEOUSLY ROLLED BACKWARDS MAKING CONTACT WITH THE PERSON AND KNOCKING HER TO THE GROUND. DURING THE INCIDENT, THE TIRE ROLLED OVER THE LEFT FOOT CAUSING A FRACTURE OF THE FOOT. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE LOCAL DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF THE INCIDENT. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER 11V395000(POWER TRAIN). THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD EXPERIENCED THE SAME FAILURE LISTED IN THE RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.
WHILE I WAS STANDING, BOTH FEET ON THE GROUND, OUTSIDE THE CAR, WITH THE CAR DOOR OPEN AND CAR MOTOR OFF, IN PARK, ABOUT TO GO IN MY HOUSE. MY CAR WENT IN REVERSE, ALL BY ITSELF, KNOCKED ME TO THE GROUND AND RAN OVER MY FOOT/ANKLE/LEG AND PUT ME IN THE HOSPITAL FOR OVER A WEEK. I HAVE A PLATE AND AT LEAST ELEVEN SCREWS IN MY LEG FROM THE OPERATION. I WAS TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL IN AN AMBULANCE. I WILL NEED PHYSICAL THERAPY. SOON I GO BACK TO SEE THE SURGEON AND GET MORE X-RAYS, I PRESENTLY AM IN A CAST. THIS WAS/IS A MOST SURPRISING, SHOCKING, PAINFUL, DEPRESSING AND UNEXPECTED SITUATION. I DO NOT WISH THIS ON ANYONE! ESPECIALLY SINCE NONE OF THIS WAS MY FAULT AND DUE TO NEGLIGENCE ON THE CAR DESIGN, HONDA !!!
I was in an accident in which the vehicle was totaled. I slammed into another car. My face slammed into the steering wheel, my airbags did not deploy.
REAR PASSENGER WHEEL SEPARATED FROM THE VEHICLE. MY WIFE AND DAUGHTER WERE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH WHEN THIS OCCURRED AND WERE ABLE TO CONTROL IT TO A STOP. 84,000 OF THIS YEAR VEHICLE WERE RECALLED IN CANADA FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. HMMMMMM.
