2010 HONDA CRV.....INSTRUMENT PANEL IS NOT MADE OUT OF NON-GLARE GLASS, THEREFORE, WHEN THE SUN REFLECTS ON IT, CANNOT READ THE SPEEDOMETER AT ALL!!!!! EITHER THE GLASS SHOULD BE REPLACED, OR THE PART OF THE DASHBOARD THAT HANGS OVER THE INSTRUMENT PANEL SHOULD BE MADE LONGER....THIS IS A DRIVING HAZARD!!!! *TR
EXTREMELY SLUGGISH ACCELERATION FROM LOW SPEEDS AND FROM A STOP. IT IS AWFUL TO TRY TO MERGE WITH TRAFFIC ON ENTRANCES OF INTERSTATES AND HIGHWAYS AND JUST CROSSING STREETS THAT REQUIRE DECENT ACCELERATION. THIS IS A HAZARD TO ME AND THOSE COMING ON THE MAIN ROADS AS WELL AS VEHICLES FOLLOWING MY ENTRANCE INTO TRAFFIC. WE HAVE CONNECTED HONDA CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THE DEALER. BOTH HAVE ACKNOWLEDGED THERE IS A PROBLEM, BUT AS OF NOW HAVE NO CORRECTIONS. WE WERE TOLD THAT THE CAR IS PERFORMING AS DESIGNED. ARE THEY WAITING UNTIL THERE ARE DEATHS ASSOCIATED WITH THE PERFORMANCE OF THE 2010 CRV LIKE TOYOTA DID? *TR
2010 HONDA CRV BOUGHT NEW. WE HAVE A DRIVELINE VIBRATION NOTICED THE DAY WE TOOK IT HOME. WE HAVE 5 REPAIR ORDERS FOR THE SAME PROBLEM WITH NO RESOLUTION. 1 OF THE REPAIR ORDERS WAS DONE BY AN INDEPENDENT GARAGE WHO NOTED THE VIBRATION AND WHAT HE THOUGHT NEEDED TO BE DONE BUT NO REPAIR WAS MADE. WE ARE WORKING WITH A LEMON LAW ATTORNEY BUT DON'T FEEL LIKE WE ARE ON THE RIGHT TRACK. I AM A AUTO TECHNICIAN AND NOT MUCH OF WHAT I SAID WAS DONE. HONDA IS NOW TRYING TO WALK AWAY FROM US. THE LAWYER SAID SHE FILED A CLAIM WITH HONDA 2 TIMES AND IT WAS "DENIED". I DON'T UNDERSTAND THAT SINCE THE MASSACHUSETTS LEMON LAW, M.G.L. CH 90 7N 1/2 STATES THAT IT IS PRESUMED THAT THE LEMON LAW IS SATISFIED IF EITHER OF THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS IS MET: 1. THE CAR WAS PRESENTED FOR REPAIR ON 3 OR MORE OCCASIONS FOR THE SAME NONCONFORMITY WITHIN ONE YEAR OR 15,000 MILES FROM THE DATE OF ORIGINAL DELIVERY OF THE CAR AND THE PROBLEM STILL EXISTS.. WE CLEARLY FIT THIS BUT THE 1ST TIME AROUND WITH THE LAWYER SHE SAID WE DID NOT QUALIFY AND SAID " I UNDERSTAND YOU HAVE EXPERIENCED "ISSUES" WITH YOUR VEHICLE BUT SOME OF THE "ISSUES" YOU HAVE EXPERIENCED DO NOT FALL UNDER THE LEMON LAW. CONCERNS RELATED TO BRAKES, ROTORS, TIRES, WHEELS, ALIGNMENTS, COSMETIC ISSUES, WEAR & TEAR- ARE ALL ITEMS SPECIFICALLY EXCLUDED IN YOUR WARRANTY BOOKLET AND ALTHOUGH THE DEALER MAY DECIDE TO PERFORM REPAIRS AT NO COST UNDER "GOOD-WILL", THEY DO FALL WITHIN THE LEMON LAW SO THE MANUFACTURER IS NOT LIABLE AND THEREFORE WILL NOT MAKE YOU AN OFFER OF SETTLEMENT. WE WERE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY ABOUT 65 MPH AND WITHOUT NOTICE THE DASHBOARD LIGHT DISAPPEARED AND THE SPEEDOMETER INDICATED 0 MPH EVEN THOUGH WE WERE GOING ABOUT 65 MPH. WE DECELERATED AND THE SPEEDOMETER REMAINED 0. WE PULLED TO THE SIDE TURNED ENGINE OFF AND RESTARTED AND EVERY THING WAS NORMAL AFTER THAT. CALLED THE DEALER WITH NO FOLLOW UP. *TR
THIS IS AN ADDITION TO THE PROBLEM REPORTED EARLIER ON ODI # 10350200. ENGINE STOPPED RUNNING, NO LIGHTS, NO NAVIGATION DISPLAY. *TR
THE WINDSHIELD POPPED DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD WITHOUT ANYONE IN FRONT OF ME TO GET SOMETHING THROWN ONTO THE WINDOW. IT SPIDER WEB SPLIT FROM THE BOTTOM IN BETWEEN THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS ALL THE WAY TO WHERE THE REARVIEW MIRROR IS ATTACHED BEFORE IT STOPPED CRACKING. THIS SPLIT HAPPENED WITHOUT 20 MINUTES OF DRIVING ONCE IT POPPED. *TR
HAD 2 CRACKS ON MY 2010 HONDA CR-V WINDSHIELD IN 3 DAYS. LATEST ONE HAPPENED WHEN I WAS DRIVING HOME AND I HEARD A LOUD POP AND FELT DEBRIS ON MY HANDS AND ARMS. THERE WAS NO CAR IN FRONT OF ME AND I JUST PASSED THE VEHICLE HEAD OF AN 18-WHEELER ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE ROAD AND SUPPOSE IT WAS A ROCK THAT HIT MY WINDSHIELD. IT BROKE THROUGH THE FIRST LAYER OF THE WINDSHIELD (CREATED A HOLE ABOUT THE SIZE OF A QUARTER) AND SHATTERED THE SECOND LAYER WITH SEVERAL 6-8 INCHES OF CRACKS GOING IN ALL DIRECTIONS. THE DEBRIS I FELT WERE THE BROKEN PIECES FROM SHATTERED GLASS. SOME WERE QUITE LARGE (WITH THE BIGGEST ONE I FOUND A LENGTH OF 1/2 IN) AND SHARP. THEY WERE ALL OVER MY SHIRT, LAPS, HANDS, AND ARMS. WHEN I TRIED TO REMOVE SOME ON THE SEAT, ONE PIECE PINCHED MY FINGER ALTHOUGH NO CUT WAS FOUND. *TR
HONDA CR-V, 2010, 6000 MILES HAS SERIOUS PROBLEMS AS TO PICK UP AND LACKING ADEQUATE ACCELERATION FROM STOP. DURING TURNS LOSES RPM AND CREATES DANGEROUS SLOW DOWN. AMERICAN HONDA AS WELL AS THE HAMILTON HONDA (DEALER) HAVE ACCEPTED THAT SUV HAS A PROBLEM BUT REFUSE TO OFFER A REMEDY OR TAKE THE CAR BACK. *TR
2010 HONDA CRV EXL AC POPPING SOUND. THE 1ST 2010 CRV THAT WE TEST DROVE HAD A RANDOM POPPING SOUND COMING FROM BEHIND THE GLOVE COMPARTMENT WHEN THE AC WAS TURNED ON. WE ASKED THE DEALER FOR ANOTHER CAR. THIS CAR SEEMED TO BE FINE AND WE PURCHASED IT. AFTER ABOUT DRIVING IT A 100 MILES THE POPPING NOISE STARTED ON THIS CAR TOO. WHEN THE AC IS ON I GET RANDOM POPPING NOISE BEHIND THE AC CONTROLS / GLOVE COMPARTMENT. OTHER TIMES IT WILL JUST POP WHEN STOPPING IT MIGHT BE SOMETHING THAT'S ASSEMBLED INCORRECTLY, AND MAKES A POPPING NOISE AS A PLASTIC PARTS EXPANDS OR CONTRACTS AS THE A/C COMPRESSOR CYCLES ON/OFF. THIS COULD CAUSE SOME PARTS TO POP IF THEY ARE BINDING FROM INCORRECT ASSEMBLY OR TOLERANCES THAT ARE TOO TIGHT. CURRENTLY THERE ARE NO SERVICE BULLETINS AVAILABLE THAT ARE ADDRESSING THIS PROBLEM. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 HONDA CR-V. WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED A TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM SERVICE LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON THE DASHBOARD. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THERE WAS A BAD SEAL ON THE TIRES. THE TIRES WERE RESEALED AND THE FAILURE HAD NOT RECURRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 700.
2010 HONDA CR-V DRIVER DOOR WOULD NOT OPEN. PROBLEM INTERMITTENT TWICE. CALL TO DEALER. NO RECALL. *TR
AUDIO SYSTEM DOES NOT DISPLAY FOLDER NAMES AS INDICATED IN OWNERS MANUAL. THE SYSTEM OPERATES THE SAME ON ALL 2010 CRV MODELS AND ALWAYS FAILS IN THE SAME WAY. AMERICAN HONDA MOTOR CO., INC. WILL NOT ESCALATE THE ISSUE TO RESOLVE IT. THIS PROBLEM IS COMMENSURATE WITH DISTRACTED DRIVING PRACTICES. THE DOJ HAS RECOMMENDED THIS ISSUE BE HANDLED BY USDOT AND/OR FBI AS IT INVOLVES FRAUDULENT MEANS TO ACQUIRE CUSTOMERS. THE ISSUE: THE AUDIO SYSTEM WILL NOT DISPLAY ALL OF THE FOLDER NAMES (UP TO 700) ON A FLASH DRIVE AS INDICATED IN THE OWNERS MANUAL, PAGE 243. *TR
ACCELERATION IS STILL SLUGGISH AFTER UPDATES. PROBLEM WITH ENGINE IS NOT FIXED AS IT IS PROBABLY A POOR DESIGN. UPDATES MADE THE SITUATION BETTER. IT RAN BEST AFTER THE UPDATES. FIRST HAD PROBLEMS BEFORE IT WAS A YEAR OLD. *TR
ENGINE OR TRANSMITTION BEGINES TO STALL IN THE MORNING WHEN DRIVING AT 50 MPH OR HIGHER ON HIGHWAY. IT DOES NOT HAPPEN IN THE AFTEROON. I TRIED TO WARM UP THE VEHICLE FOR 5 MINS BEFORE DRIVING, BUT THE SIMPTON REMAINS THE SAME. THE SOFTWARE UPGRADE WAS DONE BY DEALERS A COUPLE OF TIMES, BUT THE PROBLEM CONTINUES. *JS
I RECENTLY PURCHASED A BRAND NEW 2010 HONDA CR-V EX-L ON 29 MAY 2010. I DIDN'T EXPECT TO HAVE ANY PROBLEMS WITH A BRAND NEW VEHICLE; HOWEVER, I UNFORTUNATELY DISCOVERED A VERY ANNOYING PROBLEM WITH THE FRONT PASSENGER'S SEAT BELT RETRACTOR. SIMILAR TO THE PROBLEM DISCUSSED IN THE HONDA SERVICE BULLETIN 05-073, 'A SQUEAK OR RATTLE IS HEARD FROM THE SEAT BELT RETRACTORS WHILE DRIVING OVER BUMPS OR ROUGH ROADS.' MY PROBLEM COMES FROM THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT AND NOT THE REAR SEATS. I CONTACTED THE DEALER I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE FROM, AND THEY SAID THE PROBLEM CANNOT BE REPAIRED. HOWEVER, THE SERVICE BULLETIN 05-073 STATES THE ISSUE WAS REMEDIED BY INSTALLING A RUBBER FLOOR BOOT TO INSULATE THE RETRACTORS FROM THE BODY. *TR
MY CAR ENGINE STALLED MOSTLY IN THER MORNING AT 50 MPH OR ABOVE. IT LASTS ABOUT A FEW MINUTES, AND DISAPPEARS. IT HAPPENS IN THE AFTERNOON AGAIN. IT SEEMS THAT EGINE SPEED AND TRANSMISSION ARE MISMATCHED. I REPORTED THIS SEVERAL TIMES AFTER I PURCHSED IT; DEALERS UPDATED SOFTWARES UNDER FACTORY WARANTEES. THE PROBLEM HAS NOT BEEN FIXED. MY CAR HAS NOW ABOUT 32,000 MILIES. I AM NOT SURE IF THIS HAS ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE RECENT RECALL ON ENGINE OIL RING PROBLEM.
DRIVING FIRST IN THE MORNING ON HIGHWAY (DOWNHILL), DTHE DRIVELINE VIBRATES AT 60 MPH AND ABOVE. IT FELT LIKE ENGINE IS NOT RUNNING FAST ENOUGH TO CATCH UP THE TRANSMISSION SPEED. AND FITHE GEAR IS ENGAGED AT 40-50 MPH, AND DOES NOT DOWNSHIFTED TO 4TH OR LOWER GEAR. IT UNDERPOWERS THE CAR.
BRAKES WON'T STOP CAR AND GAS SURGING, NEED TO PLACE GEAR TO PARK TO LOWER THE SURGING OF THE GAS. THIS HAPPENS OCCASIONALLY CAR IS A HONDA CRV EX PURCHASED NEW W/160 ODOMETER READING ON DEC. 27 2009 AT SCOTT ROBINSON HONDA INC , TORRANCE, CA. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 HONDA CRV. WHEN THE CONTACT STARTED THE IGNITION, THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE WARNING INDICATOR WOULD ILLUMINATE UNTIL THE ENGINE WAS TURNED OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS CONTRIBUTED TO THE AIR BAG SENSOR. THE PART WAS UNAVAILABLE AND ON BACK ORDER. THE CONTACT HAD CONCERN OF THE UNCERTAINTY OF THE ARRIVAL DATE FOR THE PART AND THE SAFETY RISK INVOLVED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
MY 2010 HONDA-CRV IS MECHANICALLY OUT-OF-CONTROL WHEN I TRIED TO MAKE A TURN AND IT ESCALATED INSTEAD AND I TRIED TO MANEUVER TO STEER TO TURN AND INSTEAD, CONTINUE TO SPEEDUP AND FINALLY BRING TO A HALT BY SLAMMING TO A GMC JEEP AND IS NOW TOTALED. UPDATED 04/22/10 *BF UPDATED 05/05/10.*JB
THE 2010 CR-V HAS VERY SLUGGISH ACCELERATION FROM LOW SPEED AND FROM A DEAD STOP. WE HAVE A DRIVEWAY THAT SLOPES DOWN, AND WE HAVE TO FLOOR THE GAS PEDAL TO GO UP THE DRIVE WAY AND EVEN THEN IT GOES AT A SNAIL'S PACE. IT IS DIFFICULT TO TURN INTO TRAFFIC WITH OUT HAVING TO FLOOR THE GAS PEDAL AND EVEN THEN, IT CAN STILL BE INCONSISTENTLY SLUGGISH (YOU NEVER KNOW HOW FAST YOU START GOING OR IF YOU WILL START GOING). WE HAVE BEEN IN A NUMBER OF NEAR MISS SITUATIONS BEFORE WE REALIZED THAT SINCE WE CAN'T JUDGE WHETHER THE CAR WILL ACTUALLY RESPOND TO THE GAS PEDAL, THERE CAN'T BE ANY CROSS TRAFFIC IF WE ARE GOING TO PULL OUT. I HAVE CONTACTED THE DEALER WHO ACKNOWLEDGES THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM AND THAT ONE OF THEIR SERVICE ENGINEERS HAS THE CR-V AND FOUND THE SAME THING, HOWEVER, NOTHING IS BEING DONE TO MITIGATE THE PROBLEM. IS GOING TO TAKE TRAFFIC ACCIDENTS AND DEATHS BEFORE HONDA DOES SOMETHING ABOUT THIS ISSUE? *TR
EXHAUST LEAK. FLEXIBLE GASKET AT BASE OF CATALYTIC CONVERTER DETERIORATES IN HEAT AND CAUSES NOISE WHEN CATALYTIC CONVERTER IS HOT AT LOW SPEEDS AND IDLE. VEHICLE WAS AT DEALER 5 TIMES WITH NO SUCCESSFUL REPAIR (MARCH, AUG, OCT AND NOV, 2010). DEALER HAS ESCALATED ISSUE TO HONDA ENGINEERING, BUT NO ESTIMATED TIME FOR RESOLUTION.
I PURCHASED A 2010 HONDA CR V IN NOVEMBER OF 2009. IN JANUARY THE VEHICLE HAD AROUND 2300 MILES. MY WIFE AND I TOOK A VACATION AND LEFT THE VEHICLE PARKED IN HER PARENT'S PRIVATE DRIVEWAY. FOUR DAYS INTO OUR VACATION, MY FATHER-IN-LAW NOTICED THAT OUR DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW WAS "FOGGY LOOKING". HE GOT CLOSER TO THE VEHICLE AND NOTICED THAT THE TEMPERED GLASS WINDOW WAS SPIDER-ED AND PUSHED OUT TOWARD THE EXTERIOR OF THE VEHICLE. HE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND THEY REPLACED THE WINDOW. THE DEALER WOULD NOT HONOR OUR WARRANTY, BUT STILL REPLACED THE WINDOW. I BELIEVE THIS WAS A MANUFACTURING DEFECT. I ALSO BELIEVE THIS COULD BE SERIOUS IF IT HAPPENS WHEN SOMEONE IS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND THIS DEFECT OCCURS. *TR
MY 2010 CRV SOMETIMES DOESN'T START THE FIRST TIME. THIS HAPPENED MORE FREQUENTLY OVER THE LAST 6 MONTHS. WHAT HAPPENS IS WHEN STARTING THE CAR THERE WILL BE A "CLICK SOUND" BUT NOT THE SOUND OF THE STARTER.....TURN THE KEY TO THE OFF POSITION AND TRY AGAIN AND THE CAR STARTS NORMALLY. ALWAYS STARTS NORMALLY ON THE SECOND TRY. WHAT I HEARD WAS A CLEAR BUZZING SOUND COMING RIGHT FROM THE STEERING COLUMN, NEAR THE IGNITION SWITCH WHEN THE KEY WAS TURNED TO THE START POSITION. NO SOUNDS FROM THE ENGINE AT ALL. THE SOUND WAS LIKE AN ELECTRICAL BUZZ. AFTER TURNING THE KEY ON AND OFF THREE TIMES, THEN THE CAR STARTED NORMALLY WITH NO BUZZING COMING FROM THE STEERING COLUMN. IN SEARCHING THE WEB, THERE ARE OTHER CRVS THAT REPORT THE SAME THING--ABNORMAL SOUND AT FIRST START AND THEN PERFECTLY NORMAL STARTS ON THE SECOND TRY. THIS IS THE THIRD TIME I TOOK MY CRV TO HONDA DEALER FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. FIRST TIME, BATTERY WAS REPLACES. SECOND TIME, RELAY WAS REPLACED. NO PROBLEM FIXED. *JS
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 HONDA CR-V. THE CONTACT STATED HE NOTICED A NOISE IN THE ENGINE. HE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER SEVERAL TIMES WHERE MINOR REPAIRS WERE MADE. HOWEVER, THE NOISE WAS STILL PRESENT. THE DEALER THEN STATED THAT THEY CHANGED THE POWER STEERING PUMP AND HOSE. THE CONTACT STILL HEARD THE NOISE. THE CONTACT CALLED THE SERVICE MANAGER AND WAS ADVISED TO TAKE THE VEHICLE BACK IN. THE SERVICE MANAGER THEN CALLED HIM BACK STATING THAT HE SPOKE WITH THE MANUFACTURER AND COULD NOT DO ANYTHING ELSE TO THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER REPAIRED IT ONCE MORE BUT THE PROBLEM CONTINUED. THE PROBLEM HAD NOT BEEN REMEDIED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 8,000. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 200.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 HONDA CRV. WHEN DRIVING 55 MPH HE FELT HESITATION IN THE MOTOR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. AFTER A DIAGNOSTIC TEST HE WAS ADVISED THAT THE FAILURE WAS A NORMAL CHARACTERISTIC OF THE VEHICLE. NO REPAIRS WERE MADE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,986.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME ABNORMALLY DIFFICULT TO MANEUVER .THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION WHERE THEY STATED THAT THERE WAS A LEAK FROM THE RACK AND PINION, WHICH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED BUT PROVIDED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 HONDA CR-V. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN TRAVELING AT ANY SPEED, THE VEHICLE WOULD ABNORMALLY VEER TO THE RIGHT. THE DEALER PERFORMED AN ALIGNMENT BUT TO NO AVAIL. THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT FURTHER REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 26 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 26,000.
