ON THE MORNING OF MAY 17, 2013, MY WIFE, DAUGHTER AND I WERE FLYING OUT OF TOWN. MY WIFE WAS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT AND OUR DAUGHTER IN THE REAR SEAT. WE HAD A NORMAL DRIVE UP TO THE AIRPORT. WE PARKED AT EXPRESS SOUTH PARKING INSIDE THE DFW AIRPORT TO CATCH THE SHUTTLE TO OUR TERMINAL. WHILE MY WIFE AND I CAME OUT OF OUR CAR AND PUT OUR LUGGAGE IN THE SHUTTLE, MY DAUGHTER DID NOT GET OUT OF THE CAR. WHEN WE CHECKED ON HER, WE FOUND THAT SHE WAS STUCK IN HER SEAT AND COULD NOT GET OUT. IT WAS A BIG SURPRISE FOR US TO FIND SOMEONE STUCK IN THE CAR SEAT WHO COULD NOT GET OUT. ALTHOUGH SHE HAD REMOVED THE BELT FROM THE BUCKLE, SHE WAS STUCK BETWEEN THE LAP BELT THAT WAS ON HER LAP AND THE SHOULDER STRAP THAT HAD GONE ON HER BACK SIDE. SHE IS OF SHORT HEIGHT (51). WE FOUND THAT THE BELT WAS LOCKED AND IT HAD BECOME A NOOSE AROUND HER WAIST. WE TRIED VERY HARD TO PULL THE BELT TO FREE HER BUT IT WAS VERY TIGHTLY LOCKED AND COULD NOT BE PULLED. THIS CREATED A SITUATION WHERE THE BELT BECAME A NOOSE. IT BECAME A PANIC SITUATION FOR US SEEING OUR CHILD STUCK IN THE CAR AND UNABLE TO MOVE. LUCKILY, AFTER A FEW MINUTES OF TRYING, MY WIFE REALIZED THAT WE HAD A PAIR OF SCISSORS IN OUR LUGGAGE. WE CUT THE BELT TO FREE HER. ALTHOUGH WE WERE LUCKY THAT MY DID NOT SUFFER ANY INJURY, THIS PROBLEM WITH BELTS CAN LEAD TO A POTENTIALLY VERY SERIOUS SAFETY SITUATION. FOR EXAMPLE, IN CASE OF AN ACCIDENT OR FIRE, THE PASSENGER WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO GET OUT OF THE CAR THIS WILL HAVE SERIOUS AND DEADLY CONSEQUENCES.
THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE. IN APRIL 2013, I WAS DRIVING ON AN INTERSTATE. TO AVOID HITTING A SLOWING CAR, I TAPPED THE BRAKE AND TURNED THE WHEEL SLIGHTLY TO MOVE COMPLETELY BACK INTO THE RIGHT LANE. THE CAR ACCELERATED EXPONENTIALLY, AS IF OVERDRIVE HAD BEEN TURNED OFF OR CRUISE CONTROL HAD KICKED IN (CRUISE WAS NOT ON). THE CAR SPED UNCONTROLLABLY FIRST TOWARD THE RIGHT SHOULDER AND THEN TO THE LEFT WHILE I TURNED THE WHEEL TO STAY ON THE ROAD. THIS HAPPENED HALF A DOZEN TIMES BEFORE THE CAR FINALLY STOPPED. THE SECOND EVENT OCCURRED WHILE PULLING INTO A FRONT END PARKING SPACE AT AN OFFICE BUILDING. SPEED WAS NOT SUFFICIENT TO REGISTER ON THE ODOMETER. TAPPING THE BRAKE CAUSED THE CAR TO ACCELERATE AS DESCRIBED PREVIOUSLY, HEADING TOWARD A BRICK WALL ABOUT 8 FEET AWAY. I REMOVED MY FOOT FROM THE BRAKE, BUT THE CAR CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE. I WAS ABLE TO TURN THE CAR AND AVOID THE WALL, BUT TOOK OUT ALL THE FRONT PLANTINGS, A LIGHT POLE AND A SMALL TREE, DOING ALMOST $3,000 DAMAGE TO MY CAR PLUS MORE FOR THE BUILDING. I IMMEDIATELY TOOK THE CAR TO MY LOCAL HONDA SERVICE. THEIR RESPONSE: WE COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. BRING IT BACK WHEN THIS HAPPENS AGAIN. FOR A WHILE I HAVE ACCEPTED THIS DIAGNOSIS, BUT ANOTHER OCCURRENCE COULD CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY TO PROPERTY, TO ME OR TO OTHERS. I HAVE READ OF OTHER INCIDENTS WITH THIS VEHICLE. I AM PURSUING THIS MATTER WITH HONDA. THIS MUST BE FIXED! *TR
THE 2010 HONDA CR-V WAS NOT DRIVING PROPERLY, FELT LIKE THE TRANSMISSION WAS SLIPPING/SHAKY. THE OIL LIGHT CAME ON, SO I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER (LESS THAN 70,000 MILES). IT WAS ALMOST OUT OF OIL, EVEN THOUGH I HAD BEEN PROPERLY MAINTAINING SERVICE SINCE BUYING THE VEHICLE NEW IN APRIL, 2010. THE HONDA DEALER SERVICED THE CAR. I WENT BACK SHORTLY AFTER SERVICE BECAUSE WE CHECKED THE OIL AND IT WAS LOW AGAIN. THEY STARTED 'OIL CONSUMPTION' TESTS. IT WAS DOWN A BIT EVERY 1,000 MILES BUT THEY KEPT SAYING IT WAS IN THE 'NORMAL' RANGE AND THAT IT IS NOT UNUSUAL TO NEED TO ADD OIL BETWEEN OIL CHANGES (I HAVE OWNED CARS FOR 30+ YEARS AND THIS IS THE FIRST CAR THAT EVER NEED ADDITIONAL OIL BETWEEN CHANGES). I KEPT TAKING IT IN FOR CONSUMPTION ISSUES. THEY WOULD CHECK THE OIL, TOP IT OFF, AND TELL ME IT WAS 'NORMAL'. THE SERVICE PERSON SAID THE SERVICE MANAGER PRESENTED IT TO THE REGIONAL HONDA SERVICE, BUT THEY SAID IT WAS 'NORMAL' TOO. I STARTED TOPPING OFF THE OIL MYSELF AS THE DEALERSHIP IS A BIT OF A DRIVE AND I WASN'T GETTING ANYWHERE WITH THE COMPLAINTS. AT 86,000 MILES, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I TOOK IT TO AN ACURA DEALERSHIP. THEY SERVICED THE CAR AND RESET IT. LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN 3 WEEKS LATER. IT NEEDS A NEW CATALYTIC CONVERTER @$1,100. BOUGHT HONDA CARE EXTENDED WARRANTY AT DEALER WITH CAR, BUT IT DOESN'T COVER THE PART. HONDA IS TELLING ME THE CAR IS OUT OF WARRANTY AND THE HONDA CARE WARRANTY IS NOT A HONDA WARRANTY, BUT 3RD PARTY AND THEY DON'T CONTROL IT. I'M OUT $2,300 FOR THE USELESS WARRANTY AND APPEALING TO HONDA TO REPLACE THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER. I STRONGLY BELIEVE THERE IS A CONNECTION BETWEEN THE OIL CONSUMPTION (WHICH THE HONDA DEALER SAID IS NOT A PROBLEM WITH CR-VS) AND THE NEED FOR A NEW CATALYTIC CONVERTER AT 86,000 MILES. *TR
2010 HONDA CRV. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO A/C COMPRESSOR CLUTCH WARRANTY EXTENSION AND REIMBURSEMENT CLAIM. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED SHE NOTICED AN INCREASING NOISE COMING FROM THE AC COMPRESSOR. EVEN THOUGH THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN REGULARLY SERVICED BY HONDA, POTENTIAL AC PROBLEMS WERE NEVER CHECKED OR BROUGHT TO HER ATTENTION. UPON HAVING THE VEHICLE REPAIRED, THE CONSUMER WAS INFORMED THE PROBLEM WAS A WEAR AND TEAR ITEM, NOT ASSOCIATED WITH THE NOTED FAILURES HONDA'S HAD BEEN EXPERIENCING WITH THE AC SYSTEM FOR A PERIOD OF NEARLY 10 YEARS.
THE REAR, PASSENGER-SIDE DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR BEGAN TO FAIL ON MY 2010 HONDA CRV IN THE LATER PART OF 2012 OR EARLY PART OF 2013. IT ORIGINALLY STARTED AS A SQUEALING NOISE WHEN I WOULD LOCK OR UN-LOCK THE DOOR AND ESCALATED TO A LOUD GRINDING/CLUNKING NOISE. THE LOCK ITSELF FUNCTIONS INTERMITTENTLY, OFTEN STRUGGLING OR FAILING COMPLETELY TO LOCK AND/OR UNLOCK WITH THE KEY-FOB OR WITH THE BUTTON ON THE DOOR. THE ISSUE HAS SEEMED TO SPREAD TO THE REAR, DRIVER-SIDE DOOR LOCK, WHICH NOW HAS ALSO BEGAN TO SHOW SIGNS OF FAILURE. A CERTIFIED HONDA MECHANIC HAS CONFIRMED THE PROBLEM IS MOST LIKELY RESULTING FROM THE ACTUATOR(S) FAILING; HOWEVER, BECAUSE THERE IS NO RECALL AT THIS TIME [ON THIS WELL-KNOWN AND DOCUMENTED ISSUE], THE FINANCIAL BURDEN OF REPLACING THE FAULTY PARTS WOULD FALL SOLELY ON ME. *TR
THE REAR, DRIVER-SIDE DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR BEGAN TO FAIL ON MY 2010 HONDA CRV IN THE LATER PART OF 2012 OR EARLY PART OF 2013. THERE IS A SQUEALING NOISE WHEN I LOCK OR UN-LOCK THE DOOR. THE LOCK ITSELF FUNCTIONS INTERMITTENTLY, OFTEN FAILING COMPLETELY TO LOCK AND/OR UNLOCK WITH THE KEY-FOB BUT SO FAR IT UNLOCKS/LOCKS WITH THE BUTTON ON THE DOOR. WHEN THE REAR DRIVER-SIDE DOOR DOESN'T UNLOCK, I CANNOT OPEN THE GATE. I HAVE TO MANUALLY UNLOCK THE REAR DOOR AND THEN I CAN ACCESS THE GATE, WHICH IS NOT ONLY INCONVENIENT BUT DANGEROUS. DURING A PREVIOUS ROUTINE MAINTENANCE AT THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I BOUGHT MY CR-V, A CERTIFIED HONDA MECHANIC CONFIRMED THE PROBLEM IS AN ACTUATOR(S) FAILING; HOWEVER, BECAUSE THERE IS NO RECALL AT THIS TIME [ON THIS WELL-KNOWN AND DOCUMENTED ISSUE], THE FINANCIAL BURDEN OF REPLACING THE FAULTY PARTS WOULD FALL SOLELY ON ME. MY HUSBAND HAS BEEN LAID OFF FOR A FEW MONTHS AND I CANNOT AFFORD THIS REPAIR. IT DOESN'T SEEM FAIR TO HAVE FAITHFUL HONDA OWNERS (3 OF OUR 4 VEHICLES ARE HONDAS) BEAR THE BURDEN OF WHAT SEEMS TO BE A DEFECT. *TR
I WENT TO FIRESTONE TO HAVE MY CAR SERVICED AND WAS TOLD THAT I NEED TO START THINKING ABOUT NEW TIRES. *TR
THE WINDSHIELD IS BADLY DISTORTED. IT LOOKS LIKE BUBBLES INSIDE OF THE GLASS MAKING VISIBILITY EXTREMELY DIFFICULT. I CAN NOT SEE OUT OF WINDSHIELD AND AM CONCERNED THAT BEING UNABLE TO SEE I WILL END UP IN A CRASH. HONDA DEALER REFUSES TO REPLACE WINDSHIELD STATING IT IS AN INSURANCE ISSUE. IT IS NOT AN INSURANCE ISSUE; IT IS CLEARLY A MANUFACTURING DEFECT. *TR
IN WAS EXITING OFF OF I 12 ON MILLERVILLE, IN BATON ROUGE, LA., I STOPPED, TURN LEFT TO CHECK FOR TRAFFIC AND WHEN I TURN BACK AROUND I WAS CRASHING WITH THE TRUCK IN FRONT OF ME. WHEN THE POLICE CAME HE ASK WAS I HURT I TOLD HIM MY CHEST WAS HURTING BECAUSE I HIT MY STEERING WHEEL. HE ASK IF I WAS WEARING MY SEAT BELT, I TOLD HIM YES. WHEN THE TO TRUCK DRIVER OPEN MY CAR DOOR ON THE DRIVER SIDE TO GET IN BECAUSE HE WAS PREPARING MY CAR TO BE TOWED, THAT'S WHEN I SAW THAT MY SEAT BELT HAD BROKEN. THE SIDE PANEL INSIDE THE CAR THAT HOLD THE SEAT BELT HAD CAME OPEN, THE SEAT BELT WOULD NOT RETRACT BACK IN THE PANEL,IT WAS JUST SITTING ON THE FLOOR OF MY CAR. I THEN CALL THE POLICE OFFICER TO SHOW HIM SINCE HE HAD QUESTION ME ABOUT WEARING MY SEAT BELT. THE SEAT BELT WILL HAVE TO BE REPAIR BECAUSE IT BROKE DURING THE ACCIDENT. I TOOK A PICTURE OF THE SIDE PANEL AND THE SEAT BELT. I WOULD ALSO LIKE TO SAY I HAVE NEVER SEEN THIS HAPPEN IN A CAR BEFORE( IN OTHER CAR ACCIDENTS) WHERE THE SEAT BELT COMPARTMENT COMES A LOOSE. *TR
ON SEPT. 18TH,2012 I HAD THE STEERING RACK ASSEMBLY REPLACED @ 35,808 MI. IN MY 2010 HONDA CRV BY FREEMAN HONDA. I AM NOW AT (APPROX. 72,000 MI.) AND IT IS LEAKING AGAIN AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. I THINK THAT FREEMAN HONDA INSTALLED A DEFECTIVE STEERING RACK. THEY ARE REFUSING TO HONOR THE WORK THAT THEY DID.
CR-V 2010 EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION. BOUGHT THE CAR NEW. MY HUSBAND DRIVES THE CAR TO WORK EVERY DAY FOR AN HOUR. WE START HEARING A CRANKING NOISE COMING FORM THE ENGINE IN THE COLD MORNINGS. WE FOLLOW RECOMMENDATIONS ON OIL CHANGES AND USE SYNTHETIC OIL. I CHECK THE OIL REGULARLY AND ADD SOME WHEN IT NEEDS IT. I WAS AMAZE AT HOW MUCH OIL IT BURN. I HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH EXCESSIVE OIL USE AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON TWO (2) DEALERSHIPS RECOMMENDED TO REPLACE TIMING BELT TIMING CHAIN TENSION AND CAM SHAFT. 62,000 MILES CAR WAS DRIVING VERY BAD SO I DID THE REPAIRS $ 1,212.40 . THE DEALERSHIP IS TELLING ME THAT'S "NORMAL". I HAVE A MINI VAN TOYOTA WITH 273,000 MILES NEVER CHANCE THE TIMING BELT/CHAIN STILL RUNNING. HONDA OF AMERICA SAYING THAT BURNING A QUART OF OIL EVERY 1,000 MILES IS NORMAL. THAT IS UNETHICAL. I HAVE DONE THE 1,000 MILE OIL CONSUMPTION TESTS WHEN I WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THAT MY CRV CAN BURN UP TO A QUART OF OIL EVERY 1,000 MILES AND IS NOTHING THAT THEY CAN HELP ME. NOW THE CAR START SMELLING OIL AND GAS WHEN I CHECK THE OIL LEVEL. THEY SEND A LETTER BUT HONDA IS NOT WILLING TO DO THE REPAIRS.
VEHICLE STARTER MAKES A NOISE LIKE THE STARTER IS STAYING ENGAGED AFTER ENGINE HAS STARTED. IT DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE RELATED TO THE OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE AS IT HAPPENS IN WINTER AND SUMMER. STARTER GOT WORSE AND THE CAR WOULD NOT START. TOOK IT TO DEALER AND WAS TOLD THAT IT HAD TO BE REPRODUCED ON DEMAND FOR THE DEALER TO DO SOMETHING. VEHICLE HAS SURPASSED 36000 MILE WARRANTY SO HONDA WILL NOT COVER THE REPLACEMENT OF THE STARTER. WENT TO PERSONAL MECHANIC TO HAVE STARTER REPLACED. *TR ## VIN PASSED ## HONDA CRV 2010 ##
TAIL LIGHTS AND HEADLIGHTS ON THE VEHICLE DIM EVERYTIME THE FAN KICKS ON. TOOK IT TO THE SHOP TWICE AND THEY SAID THAT IT IS NORMAL FOR THEM TO DIM WHEN THE FAN KICKS ON. THE FIRST TIME HOWEVER THEY SAID IT WAS THE BATTERY AND THEY REPLACED IT, HOWEVER NO IMPROVEMENT HAVE BEEN SEEN AND THEY STILL DIM WHICH CAN GET DANGEROUS AT NIGHT TIME DRIVING. *TR
INCREDIBLY FAST WEAR ON ONE LEFT REAR BRAKE PADS AND GRINDING SOUND AT ALL SPEEDS. VISUALLY CHECKED ALL THE BRAKES - THE PADS ON ALL 3 ARE NORMAL WITH LITTLE WEAR, BUT THE LEFT REAR IS TOTALLY WORN. THIS HAPPENED WITHIN A FEW WEEKS. ALSO THE ROTORS ARE WORN UNEVEN WITH "PITTED" SURFACE. THIS IS NOT THE DUE TO A USAGE, BUT DUE TO SOME MECHANICAL PROBLEM. THE PROBLEM IS SEVERE - I CAN NOT DRIVE A VEHICLE!!! *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 HONDA CR-V. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE THE BRAKE WAS DEPRESSED, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED ABNORMALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOUR TIMES BUT WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10,500 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 11,500. ..UPDATED 09-19-12 *BF UPDATED 09/20/2012 *JS
2010 HONDA CRV. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED IN MAY 2012, THE VEHICLE SHIFTED FROM 5TH GEAR TO 3RD GEAR, WHILE TRAVELING AT 65-70 MPH ON THE INTERSTATE. THE CONSUMER STATED THE CRUISE CONTROL WAS ENGAGED AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT. IT HAPPENED TWICE AGAIN. ON EACH OCCASION, HE MOVED TO THE SHOULDER, TURNED THE IGNITION OFF, PUT THE GEAR SHIFT IN PARK, STARTED THE ENGINE, RE-SET THE CRUISE CONTROL, AND PROCEEDED. *JB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 HONDA CR-V. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 15 MPH WHEN THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE DEALER ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE VIN FAILED TO QUALIFY FOR REPAIRS UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER:11V395000 (POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE -TCM,PCM). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 5,600 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 5,624.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 HONDA CR-V. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE VEHICLE SURGED FORWARD UNTIL THE EMERGENCY BRAKE WAS APPLIED. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TOWED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER, BUT THEY WERE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 12,000.
IT WAS POURING RAIN AND I HAD GONE THROUGH WATER. I STOPPED AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT WAITING TO TURN RIGHT, THE LIGHT CHANGED AND THE CAR WOULD BARELY MOVE. BUT WHEN IT DID AND I STOPPED AT THE NEXT LIGHT, APPROX. 1/2 MILE DOWN THE ROAD AGAIN IT WOULD BARELY MOVE AND I DO MEAN BARELY. THE PERSON BEHIND ME GOT OUT AND PUSHED ME OUT OF THE ROAD BY HAND. BOTH THE "LOW OIL PRESSURE INDICATOR" AND "CHARGING SYSTEM INDICATOR" LIGHTS WERE ON. I TURNED THE CAR OFF FOR A FEW MINUTES AND THEN IT STARTED AGAIN AND RAN FINE. LUCKILY I WASN'T ON THE FREEWAY. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER WHO SAID IT WAS PROBABLY "JUST A FLUKE". WELL LOW AND BEHOLD ON JULY 23, 2015 I HAD TO DRIVE THRU BLINDING RAIN AND WHEN I DROVE THRU APPROX. 6" OF WATER ON THE ROAD, THE CAR STALLED OUT AGAIN. IT STARTED AFTER A FEW MINUTES AND THEN STALLED AGAIN. I PULLED OVER AND SAT FOR A FEW MINUTES AND THEN IT STARTED FINE AND HAS RUN FINE SINCE. THIS MAKES ME FEEL VERY UNSAFE. IS THERE ANYTHING I CAN DO TO GET THIS PROBLEM SOLVED BECAUSE ONE CAN'T HELP DRIVING IN RAIN AT TIMES.
GEARS BEGAN TO CRUNCH AND THE CAR BEGAN TO SHAKE. SLOWED DOWN AT A LIGHT AND LOST THE POWER STEERING. PULLED OVER AND THE ENGINE STALLED. COULD NOT RE-START FOR 10 MINUTES. ENGINE THEN RE-STARTED, TRAVELED APPROX. 10 METERS AND STALLED. RE-STARTED AGAIN - NO FURTHER PROBLEMS. 2 SIMILAR OCCURRENCES, 2 MONTHS APART. FOR THE FIRST EVENT, THE CAR WENT OFF THE ROAD. ON EACH OCCASION THE DEALERSHIP STATED THEY HAD CHECKED EVERYTHING AND THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR. TOOK IT FOR A SECOND OPINION. DEALERSHIP HAD NOT CHECKED RECALL 11-001 (JANUARY, 2011). THEY CHECKED IT, BUT AGAIN FOUND NO ISSUE. *TR
I PURCHASED A NEW 2010 HONDA CR-V AND IT IS USED REGULARLY. THE TIRE PRESSURE HAS BEEN LOW ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS DUE TO NAIL IN THE TIRE OR JUST LOW PRESSURE. HOWEVER, NEVER HAS THE SENSOR ACTIVATED FOR THIS OR MADE ME AWARE THAT THERE IS A LOW TIRE PRESSURE ISSUE. THE CAR IS REGULARLY BROUGHT TO BE SERVICED AT THE HONDA CENTER. IT SEEMED THAT 5TH GEAR REFUSED TO DOWNSHIFTED. I REPORTED IT IN FEW DAYS, BUT THE DEALER TOLD ME THAT NOTHING WAS WRONG. I CONTINUED TO HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM; I TOOK IT TO ANOTHER DEALER TWICE. I SAW SERVICE BULLETIN TO UPGRADE ENGINE SOFTWARE, SO I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER IN MARCH 2011. THEY SAID THAT THEY DID NOT KNOW OF THE BULLETIN. I SHOWED THE COPY OF THE BULLETIN ISSUED ON NOV 2010. AT LEAST 5 TIMES NOW MY 2010 HONDA CRV-EX AWD CAR HAS TRIED TO TAKE OFF ON ME WHILE APPLYING THE BRAKE TO COME TO A STOP. I DID MY A1 MAINTENANCE SERVICE ON JUNE 14, 2010 WITH 4,676 MILES AND MY B1 SERVICE WAS DONE ON SEPT. 18, 2010 WITH 9,853 MILES. BOTH SERVICES WERE COMPLETED AT HERSONS HONDA SERVICE DEPARTMENT. IN NOV. I CALLED HERSONS HONDA SERVICE DEPART. TO REPORT PROBLEMS WITH MY BRAKE PEDAL SINKING TO THE FLOOR AND SLIDING FORWARD WHILE I AM WAITING AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT. ON DEC. 15, 2010, I TOOK MY CRV TO HERSONS SERVICE DEPART. FOR INSPECTION. THEY INFORMED ME THAT MY BRAKE FLUID WAS CONTAMINATED, ALL THE SEALS ARE SWOLLEN, IT WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE THE CAR AND IT WILL COST ME $5402.00 TO REPAIR IT. I ASKED TO SPEAK WITH THE SERVICE MANAGER TO FIND OUT HOW MY BRAKE FLUID GOT CONTAMINATED AND WHEN THEY COULD REPAIR IT SINCE MY CAR WAS ONLY 12,566 MILES AND STILL UNDER WARRANTY. THE SERVICE MANAGER TOLD ME THAT THEY WOULD NOT FIX THE PROBLEM WITH THE BRAKES, SUGGESTING IT WAS MY FAULT AND THAT IT WAS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. I REQUESTED FOR THE PHONE NUMBER OF AMERICAN HONDA AND REPORTED THE PROBLEM. AMERICAN HONDA SAID THAT THEY WILL INVESTIGATE AND COME BACK TO ME. TECHNICIAN,'IZZY' AND MYSELF DID ROAD TEST & DUPLICATED THE NOISE AGAIN (EXISTING SINCE 2010)' DUPLICATING IT MULITIPLE TIMES; NOW FIND OUT AN INTERNAL ISSUE WITH THE TRANSMISSION EXISTS. PREVIOUSLY, HONDA OF WHITE PLAINS DID OIL CHANGE & SAID TO RETURN TO GSH AS REAR BRAKES WERE SEIZING. THAT WAS FIXED AFTER TWO SERVICE TRIPS TO GSH. MR. TIMOTHY MAHON (RIP) HEARD IT BUT I GUESS DEAD MEN CAN TELL NO TALES.
SERVICE DOCUMENTATION HAS BEEN MADE REGARDING A COMPLAINANT OF A METAL NOISE DROPPING FROM THE VEHICLE AS OF NOV 2010 AND BASICALLY EVERY YEAR TO FOLLOW. I DID PURCHASED THE VEHICLE NEW. HOWEVER, NOW I HAVE JUST BEEN ADVISED IT IS AN INTERNAL ISSUE IN THE TRANSMISSION AND WILL BE RESPONSIBLE TO PAY $1600. IT SEEMED THAT MOST COSTLY ISSUES REALLY BEGAN TO SURFACE AFTER THE 5 YEAR WARRANTEE. HOWEVER IT SEEMED THAT NOTHING IS WRONG, BUT AFTER A THIRD RETURN AND TAKING THE VEHICLE OUT AND REPRODUCING THE NOISE/PROBLEM I HAVE COMPLAINED OF SINCE MY ORIGINAL PURCHASE NO HAS BEEN "DISCOVERED". I HAVE ALWAYS DONE THE RECOMMENDED SERVICES ON THE VEHICLE AT THE TIME I HAVE MAINTAINED ITS SERVICE SINCE IT HAS BEEN PURCHASED WITH GARDEN STATE HONDA. THEY HAVE BEEN POLITE, TRIED TO PROVIDE A REASON FOR THE NOISE WHICH WERE NOT AS I DESCRIBED. A METAL CLANK/DROP NOISE IS NOT THE SAME AS THE PLASTIC FLAP RUBBING ON THE TIRE. I HAVE BEEN ENGAGED TO A MECHANIC AND CLEARLY KNOW THIS WAS A POOR EXCUSE. I DO HAVE AN EXTENDED COVERAGE UNTIL APRIL 2017. I HAVE ALSO BEEN PROVIDED AN EXCUSE THAT MY CAR TIRES ARE WEARING UNEVENLY AS THE CAR MUST NOT HAVE BEEN DRIVEN IN SOME TIME (THE TIRES APPEAR TO HAVE THAT STATIONARY MARK). THE CAR IS DRIVEN DAILY. IT MAY NOT BE FAR DISTANCES, BUT THAT'S NOT A REASON FOR WHY WEARING UNEVENLY.
MY 2010 HONDA CRV ROLLS BACK WHILE ON AN INCLINE IN DRIVE. DEALERSHIP SAYS THAT IS CUSTOMARY WITH THE HONDAS. IT ROLLS BACK AND WILL ONLY STOP WHEN YOU PRESS THE ACCELERATOR. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 HONDA CR-V. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE HEADLIGHTS WERE TOO DIM AND DID NOT ILLUMINATE PROPERLY WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO DECIDED TO ADJUST THE LIGHTS. THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 30,000. I THINK THIS IS A VERY GENERIC PROBLEM ON MANY CARS. PLEASE SEE A PHOTO ATTACHED. MANY CARS HAVE A SHINY REFLECTIVE STAINLESS STEEL LOGO IN THE CENTER OF THE STEERING WHEEL. SOMETIMES, THE SHINY LOGO REFLECTS SUNLIGHT DIRECTLY TO THE EYES OF THE DRIVER. NO SHINY OBJECTS INSIDE A CAR, PLEASE. *TR
