DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR FAILED: KEY FOB WOULD ONLY LOCK/UNLOCK DRIVERS DOOR. MANUAL KEY LOCK/UNLOCK ON OUTSIDE DRIVERS DOOR WOULD ONLY LOCK/UNLOCK DRIVERS DOOR. ATTEMPTED TO LOCK/UNLOCK ALL DOORS USING BUTTON ON INSIDE DRIVERS DOOR: COULD ONLY LOCK/UNLOCK DRIVERS DOOR--NO AFFECT ON OTHER DOORS. TODAY, HONDA DEALER TESTED AND THEN REPLACED DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR: PROBLEM PERSISTED UNALTERED. THEN MORE DIAGNOSTICS SHOWED: "DIAGNOSED TO FIND THE UNLOCK RELAY INSIDE THE MICU IS NOT PROVIDING POWER TO UNLOCK THE REMAINING DOORS. THE NOISY DRIVER FRONT ACTUATOR, OR ANY OF THE OTHER 3 MAY HAVE CAUSED THE ISSUE IN THE RELAY. ORDERD THE UNDER HOOD FUSE RELAY BOX AND CUSTOMER WILL RETURN."
UN WANTED ACCELERATION AT LOW SPEEDS WHILE PARKING OR STOPPING ,CAR THRUST FORWARD WITHOUT FOOT BEING ON GAS PEDAL ,ESPECIALLY WHEN ATTEMPTING TO PARK ECT.OR PULLING INTO A PARKING SPACE AT LOW SPEED WITH FOOT ON BRAKE.THIS IS NOT A FLOOR MAT ISSUE AT ALL . HAS HAPPENED 5 0R 6 TIMES AT RANDOM. COMPLAINED AT DEALERSHIP,THEY STATED NO ONE ELSE HAS HAD THE PROBLEM REPORTED TO THEM . COULD EASLY RUN SOMEONE OVER OR CRASH INTO SOMETHING .HAPPENS VERY QUICK WITHOUT WARNING...
DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR PROBLEM: DRIVERS REAR DOOR LOCK IS IN OPEN MODE TO LOCK AND UNLOCK. HONDA DEALER TESTED AND THEN REPLACED DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR. DUE TO THE SAME ACTUATOR PROBLEM HONDA SETTLED A CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT FOR CLASS VEHICLES (2007-2008 HONDA CR-VS AND CERTAIN 2009 HONDA CR-VS) ON SEPTEMBER 19, 2014, BY AND BETWEEN AMERICAN HONDA MOTOR CO., INC. (HONDA) AND PLAINTIFFS IN DAVITT V. HONDA NORTH AMERICA, INC., CASE NO. 13-381 (D.N.J.) (THE LITIGATION). (HTTP://SETTLEMENT-CLAIMS.COM/DOORLOCK/INDEX.ASPX).
THIS VEHICLE DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE ON THE RECALL LIST, HOWEVER THE OWNER'S LITERATURE INDICATES IT HAS TAKATA AIRBAGS. ARE THE DEALER'S REQUIRED TO REPLACE THE AIRBAGS EVEN IF THEY ARE NOT ON THE RECALL LIST?
WE PURCHASED A HONDA CERTIFIED VEHICLE IN JAN 2015. AFTER 4,000 MILES THE OIL LIGHT FLASHED ON PERIODICALLY. WE CHECKED THE OIL AND THE DIPSTICK WAS DRY. I ADDED TWO QUARTS OF OIL, IT STILL SHOWED ONLY HALF ON THE DIP STICK AND WE TOOK IT TO HONDA. THEY CHARGED US FOR AN OIL CHANGE AND SAID THEY NEEDED TO DO A CONSUMPTION TEST. AFTER TWO 1,000 MILES CONSUMPTION CHECKS, IT WAS BURNING A QUART OF OIL IN EACH CHECK. THE LAST CHECK, WE TOOK A PICTURE OF THE DIPSTICK AFTER SITTING OVERNIGHT BEFORE WE TOOK IT TO HONDA. IT WAS A QUART LOW AND THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT TOLD US THAT IT WAS BARELY LOW. THEY LIED TO US. THEY ALSO TOLD US THIS IS NORMAL CONSUMPTION. WE CALLED HONDA DIRECTLY AND CAN'T SEEM TO GET ANYONE TO LISTEN TO US.
SIDE CURTAIN AIRBAG INDICATOR LIGHT "ON" FOR NO APPARENT REASON. TURNED OFF THE NEXT DAY, BUT TURNED "ON" AGAIN THE FOLLOWING DAY AND HAS REMAINED ON SINCE THIS DAY. I AM AT A LOST FOR THE REASON AND CAN ONLY ATTRIBUTE IT TO HOT WEATHER.
DRIVERS SIDE DOOR LOCK ACTUATORS FAILING INCONSISTENTLY AND RANDOMLY. SOMETIMES VEHICLE CANNOT BE LOCKED OR UNLOCKED. WHEN DRIVERS SIDE REAR ACTUATOR FAILS THE TRUNK ALSO FAILS TO OPEN.
THE CAR WAS SITTING ON A HILL, AND I TURNED THE KEY IN THE ON POSITION. I THEN TURNED THE KEY TO START, AND THE ENGINE DID NOT TURN OVER, AND THE CAB LOST ALL POWER. SO I TOOK IT TO AUTO ZONE, AND THEY SAID THAT NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH IT. *TR
OUR 2011 HONDA CRV IS USING 1.4QTS OF OIL PER 1,325 MILES. WE HAVE HAD IT TO THE DEALER 3-4 TIMES CHECKING FOR LEAKS AND CRACKS AND FOUND NOTHING AND STATED THAT THIS WITHIN NORMAL HONDA RANGES IN OIL CONSUMPTION. THE DEALER FINALLY DID AN OIL CONSUMPTION TEST ON THE VEHICLE AND ASKED HONDA CORPORATE IF THEY WOULD COVER THE REPAIRS TO REPLACE THE PISTONS AND RINGS UNDER THE 8 YEAR, 100,000 MILE EXTENEDED WARRANTY THAT HONDA HAS PURPOSED AS A "FIX." CORPORATE DENIED THE DEALER'S REQUEST TO FIX THE REPAIR UNDER THE WARRANTY. I CALLED CORPORATE MYSELF AND THE CASE MANAGER TOOK THE INFORMATION DOWN, BUT WAS DENIED AGAIN BY THE SAME EXECUTIVE THAT TALKED TO THE DEALER WITH THE SAME RESPONSE. I QUESTIONED THE "WARRANTY" AND STATED THAT IF IT WAS A TRUE WARRANTY, THEY WOULD CORRECT THE PROBLEM. MY GUESS IS THAT THEY DON'T HAVE A FIX FOR THIS ISSUE AND THEY CHOSE THE ROUTE OF IGNORING THE PROBLEM. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE FOR A 4 YEAR OLD VEHICLE TO KEEP ADDING OIL AT THE OWNER'S EXPENSE AND JUST PLAIN FRUSTRATING!
THE AIR BAG HAS A PROBLEM AND CHECK ENGINE COMES OFF AND ON
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 HONDA CR-V. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS BURNING OIL EXCESSIVELY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN PERFORMED AN OIL CONSUMPTION TEST AND DIAGNOSED THAT THE PISTONS RINGS AND V-TEC ACTUATOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 66,000.
DRIVER DOOR LOCK STOPPED WORKING AND COULD ONLY BE OPERATED MANUALLY. ALL OTHER DOOR LOCKS WORK FINE WITH THE POWER LOCK BUTTON AND KEY FOB. THIS HAS BEEN AN ISSUE WI PREVIOUS YEARS OF THEIRS SAME MAKE AND MODEL. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 HONDA CR-V. IN COLD WEATHER, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BATTERY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE THE DIAGNOSIS WAS THE SAME, BUT THE DEALER REFUSED TO PROVIDE A REPLACEMENT BATTERY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 17,000. THE VIN WAS NOT PROVIDED.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE HEATING CORE FAILED TO WORK, THERE WAS AIR BLOWING UNDER THE DASHBOARD, THERE WAS A BURNING ODOR, AND A FILM WAS PRESENT ON THE WINDOWS THAT IMPACTED THE CONTACTS VISIBILITY EACH TIME THE VENT CONTROLS WERE USED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ANTI-FREEZE WAS ENTERING THE CABIN AND THE VAPORS CAUSED THE CONTACT TO HAVE TO OPEN THE WINDOWS WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS BEING DRIVEN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHO WAS NOT ABLE TO REPLICATE AND DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,300.
FRONT PASSENGER SIDE DOOR CANNOT BE LOCKED USING THE KEY FOB OR THE CENTRAL LOCK BUTTON ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE. THE ONLY WAY TO LOCK/UNLOCK IT IS TO DO IT MANUALLY. THE TRUNK CANNOT BE UNLOCKED IF THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE DOOR IS LOCKED. TRUNK CAN ONLY BE UNLOCKED WHEN THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE DOOR IS UNLOCKED.
LEFT REAR CALIPER PIN STUCK RESULTING IN CATASTROPHIC FAILURE OF PADS AND BRAKE DRUM. DEALER UNABLE TO EXPLAIN HOW OR WHY AND UPON COMPLETION OF REPAIR STATED A NEW PIN WAS NOT NEEDED.
ON DECEMBER 13TH AT APPROXIMATELY NOON I WAS STOPPED AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT IN MANSFIELD, MA BEHIND THE WHEEL OF MY 2011 HONDA CRV( WITH A LITTLE OVER 66, 000 MILES), HEADING WEST ON ROUTE 106 AT THE INTERSECTION WITH ROUTE 140, IN THE LEFT LANE. WITH MY FOOT SQUARELY ON THE BRAKE PEDAL, THE CAR BEGAN TO SLOWLY MOVE FORWARD. IT FELT LIKE I WAS BEING PUSHED FROM BEHIND. I IMMEDIATELY PUT THE GEAR SHIFT IN NEUTRAL AND THE ENGINE REVVED UP TO RED LINE AT WHICH POINT I SHUT THE CAR OFF. I SAT THERE FOR A MINUTE AND DECIDE TO TURN THE CAR BACK ON TO SEE IF THE ENGINE WAS STILL REVVING. IT WAS NOT, SO I CAREFULLY DROVE HOME WITH ON HAND ON THE GEAR SHIFT. THE CAR WAS SUBSEQUENTLY INSPECTED BY PRIME HONDA AND HONDA MOTOR CO (CASE NO. [XXX]) AND NO DEFECTS WERE FOUND. AT MY REQUEST ,THEY INSTALLED A NEW COMPUTER CHIP CHARGING ME THEIR COST. THERE IS AN "AIR BAG" WARNING LIGHT ON IN THIS VEHICLE. WHEN HOOKED UP TO COMPUTER IT READS "AIR BAG INFLATER" PROBLEM. OLDER MODELS OF HONDA'S HAVE HAD RECALL NOTICES FOR THIS PROBLEM. I CALLED BILLION HONDA IN IOWA CITY, IA AND THEY RESPONDED "NO RECALL" ON THIS VEHICLE AND "NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY" AND WERE RUDE ON THE PHONE. WARRANT STATES 15 YEARS OR 150K MILE WARRANTY ON "SAFETY RESTRAINTS". WITH PAST HISTORY AND WARRANTY COVERAGE I WOULD THINK THEY WOULD CORRECT THIS PROBLEM BEFORE THE LIABILITY BECOMES GREATER. *TR
WE PULLED OUR HONDA CRV 2011 INTO A PARKING LOT AT BONEFISH GRILL IN CANTON OHIO ON NOVEMBER 30, 2014. MY MOTHER WAS PULLING INTO A PARKING SPOT AND THE ACCELERATOR MOVED TO THE FLOOR AND THE CAR COULD NOT BE STOPPED BY SLAMMING ON THE BRAKES. WE ENDED UP RUNNING INTO A CAR PARKED IN FRONT OF US THEN A CAR TO THE LEFT OF US AND THEN THE CAR WAS FINALLY STOPPED WHEN WE RAN INTO THE SIDE OF ANOTHER CAR PARKED IN THE LOT WHERE IT FINALLY CAME TO REST. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY, AND WE WERE NOT INJURED. WE WERE VERY SCARED AND THERE WAS SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO THE 3 OTHER CARS AS WELL AS OUR OWN. WE HAVE READ ONLINE THE STORIES OF OTHERS THAT HAD VERY SIMILAR SITUATIONS WITH THIS PARTICULAR MAKE AND MODEL VEHICLE. WE DO NOT PLAN ON EVER GETTING IN THIS VEHICLE AGAIN AND WILL NOT TRUST ANY VEHICLE THAT HONDA BUILDS AS WELL. THIS INCIDENT LUCKILY HAPPENED IN A PARKING LOT. IF WE WOULD HAVE BEEN IN AN INTERSECTION WE OR SOMEONE ELSE WOULD LIKELY HAVE BEEN KILLED. THIS VEHICLE NEEDS TO BE RECALLED AND CUSTOMERS SHOULD BE COMPENSATED FOR THE NEGLIGENCE ON THE PART OF THE COMPANY. IT LOOKS LIKE FROM THE STORIES THAT WE HAVE READ THAT HONDA IS CLAIMING NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS ISSUE AND BLAMING IT ON DRIVER ERROR. THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE AND HONDA NEEDS TO OWN UP TO THEIR INCOMPETENCE AND DISHONESTY. *TR
I WAS PARKING MY CAR AND WHILE APPLYING BRAKE, THE CAR ACCELERATED VERY FAST AND FORTUNATELY THERE WERE HEDGES WHICH STOPPED THE CAR. THIS IS SCARY AND WE STOPPED DRIVING THIS CAR FOR NOW UNTIL WE FIX THIS PROBLEM. *TR
ON 15 NOVEMBER 2014 AT 9:09PM MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, I HAVE A GARMIN GPS HOOKED INTO MY COMPUTER AND THIS UNIT CAN READ THE DIAGNOSTIC CODES. THE CODE FOR THIS CHECK ENGINE LIGHT OCCURRENCE WAS A (P2422). THE PROBLEM I HAVE WITH THIS IS THAT THIS CAR IS 3.5 YEARS OLD AND HAS 91K MILES ON IT AND THIS IS THE 6TH (YES SIXTH) TIME FOR THIS FAILURE. THIS CODE HAS TO DO WITH THE EMISSIONS/FUEL SYSTEM. THE CAR HAS BEEN TO 2 DIFFERENT DEALERSHIPS TO BE RESOLVED AND IS STILL NOT RESOLVED. I AM AGAIN TAKING IT TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR THIS OCCURRENCE BUT AM RUNNING OUT OF WARRANTY AND PATIENCE. THIS CAR HAS ALSO BEEN THROUGH 4 BATTERIES, A WATER PUMP, FUEL PUMP AND ALL POWER STEERING COMPONENTS REPLACED. THE MESSAGE ASSOCIATED WITH CODE P2422 IS "EVAPORATIVE EMISSION SYSTEM VENT VALVE STUCK CLOSED". IS THERE ANYONE ELSE OUT THERE FIGHTING THESE ISSUES THAT CAN GIVE ME ANY INSIGHT?? *TR
PULLED INTO TURNING LANE OFF HIGHWAY. IN PREPARING TO TURN, I PRESSED ON THE BRAKES BUT INSTEAD OF SLOWING DOWN, THE CAR ACCELERATED. PRESSED BRAKE TO FLOOR BUT FELT NO RESISTANCE (SOFT BRAKE). PRESSED EMERGENCY BRAKE TO THE FLOOR AND THREW CAR INTO NEUTRAL. LUCKILY I WAS GOING SLOW ENOUGH AND THERE WERE NO OTHER CARS COMING SO I WAS ABLE TO MAKE THE TURN EVEN THOUGH BRAKES WERE NOT WORKING. I TURNED THE WHEEL QUICKLY ONTO A STRAIGHT AWAY AND RELEASED THE EMERGENCY BRAKE. I PRESSED THE BRAKES AND THEY WORKED FINE. SECOND TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED WHERE CAR ACCELERATED INSTEAD OF STOPPING. *TR

THE CONTACT SHIFTED INTO NEUTRAL AND APPLIED FORCE TO THE BRAKE PEDAL IN ORDER TO SLOW DOWN THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,500.
DRIVERS SEAT BELT ( LAP PORTION ) FRAYING ON THE EDGE, AND THE DRIVERS SEAT BACK FABRIC HAS A 1-1/2 INCH TEAR (SEPARATION ). *TR
WIFE HAD PURSE IN THE CAR AND THE DOORS LOCKED ON THEIR OWN. THIS LOCKED HER OUT OF THE VEHICLE. THIS HAS OCCURRED A NUMBER OF TIMES SINCE. *JS
PASSENGER DOOR AND REAR HATCH DOOR WOULD NOT UNLOCK. DEALER REPLACED FRONT DOOR LATCH ASSEMBLY. COST: LATCH ASSEMBLY: $69.72: LABOR: $340.00; SHOP SUPPLIES: $25.00: TOTAL COST: $438.42. *TR
IN MAY, 2014, THE RIGHT REAR POWER WINDOW QUIT WORKING AND WOULD NOT GO BACK UP AFTER HAVING IT COMPLETELY DOWN. I TOGGLED THE WINDOW SWITCH A FEW TIMES AND THE WINDOW EVENTUALLY WENT BACK UP, SO I THOUGHT IT WAS JUST A GLITCH. WE LIVE IN ARIZONA WHERE THE SUMMERTIME IS VERY HOT, SO THE WINDOW WAS NEVER USED AGAIN DUE TO AIR CONDITIONING. THE WINDOW WAS USED RECENTLY BECAUSE THE WEATHER HAS COOLED DOWN FROM THE SUMMER HEAT. THIS TIME, TOGGLING THE SWITCH DID NOT WORK AND THE WINDOW STAYED IN THE DOWN POSITION COMPLETELY. I TOOK THE HONDA CR-V TO A LOCAL HONDA DEALERSHIP WHICH DIAGNOSED THE ISSUE AS A FAULTY MASTER POWER WINDOW SWITCH. I'VE RESEARCHED AND DISCOVERED THERE HAVE BEEN NUMEROUS ISSUES WITH FAULTY MASTER POWER WINDOW SWITCHES ON SEVERAL DIFFERENT HONDA MODELS. THERE ARE SEVERAL RECALLS AFFECTING JUST UNDER ONE MILLION AUTOMOBILES MANUFACTURED AND THERE IS A POTENTIAL FIRE HAZARD ACCORDING TO HONDA. THE COMPANY'S RECALL STATEMENT SAYS, "WATER, RAIN, OR OTHER LIQUID MAY ENTER THE DRIVER'S WINDOW AND REACH THE MASTER POWER WINDOW SWITCH, RESULTING IN IMPAIRED FUNCTION OF THE SWITCH...SWITCH IS DAMAGED AS A RESULT OF THE LIQUID INTRUSION, IT MAY RESULT IN FAILURE OF THE SWITCH AND OVERHEATING...AN OVERHEATING SWITCH MAY CAUSE SMOKE, MELTING OR, POTENTIALLY, FIRE." THE NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION OPENED AN INVESTIGATION INTO A FIRE HAZARD WITH THE MASTER POWER SWITCH ON THE HONDA CR-VS. ALSO, [XXX], A HONDA SPOKESMAN, SAID ONE PERSON DIED IN SOUTH AFRICA IN A FIRE ATTRIBUTED TO THE PROBLEM. IT IS APPARENT HONDA STILL HAS NOT PROPERLY CORRECTED THE MASTER POWER WINDOW SWITCH ISSUE. PLEASE CONTINUE YOUR INVESTIGATION OF THIS ISSUE. HONDA'S ENGINEERS NEED TO RE-DESIGN THE SWITCH; IT'S HOUSING, AND REPLACE ALL POTENTIAL FAULTY MASTER SWITCHES TO ENSURE CONSUMERS SAFETY FROM FIRE/DEATH AND FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY. WITHIN THE LAST MONTH, MY 2011 CRV HAS HAD A RECURRING ISSUE WITH THE DOOR LOCK. WHEN I HIT THE UNLOCK BUTTON, THE DRIVER'S DOOR REMAINS LOCKED AND WILL ONLY TURN MANUALLY. LIKEWISE, IT WILL ONLY LOCK MANUALLY. THE OTHER DAY I COULDN'T OPEN MY TRUNK BECAUSE OF THE LOCKING ISSUE. BECAUSE OF THE UNLOCKING, THE SENSORS AFFECTED MY DOME LIGHT AND MY BATTERY DIED AFTER 3 YEARS. I HAVE READ THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM, BUT NO RECALLS YET. IT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE. *JS

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED INTO THE DEALER WHERE THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE BATTERY NEEDED TO BE RECHARGED. THE MANUFACTURE WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 30,000.
ON SUNDAY MARCH 30 I WAS COMING OUT OF THE GROCERY STORE AND I WENT TO MY CAR TO PUT MY THINGS AWAY BUT WHEN I TRIED TO OPEN MY CAR WITH MY KEY FOB IT WOULD OPEN SO I KEPT TRYING FOR A FEW MINUTES UNTIL I DECIDED TO USE THE ACTUAL KEY ITSELF TO UNLOCK AND EVEN THEN IT ONLY OPEN ONE DOOR. ALSO WHEN I TRIED TO OPEN THE LOCKS MANUALLY WITH THE BUTTONS IN THE INSIDE THAT DIDN'T WORK EITHER. CONTINENTAL ADVERTISES TIRES ARE WARRANTED FOR 65,000 MILES OR 6 YEARS. IT BECAME NECESSARY TO REPLACE ALL 4 TIRES 3/19/14 AT 31,013 MILES OR LESS THAN HALF THE EXPECTED LIFE OF THE TIRE. THE VEHICLE AND TIRES CONSISTENTLY WERE SERVICED BY ACCREDITED HONDA DEALER & TIRE PRESSURE MAINTAINED. ADDITIONALLY, ON APRIL 6, 2012 THE RIGHT REAR TIRE WENT FLAT WITH NO CAUSE PROVIDED AND REPLACED AT A COST OF $193.00. I HAVE RECEIVED NO COMPENSATION FOR THAT TIRE. SUBSEQUENTLY, ON 4/22/14 HONDA REPRESENTATIVE [XXX] RESPONDED TO MY LETTER OF 4/6/14. HE REFERRED ME TO CONTINENTAL TIRE & DENIED ANY COMPENSATION FROM HONDA. ON 4/23/14, ?[XXX]? "TREAD WEAROUT UP TO A PREDETERMINED MILEAGE IS NOT COVERED UNDER THIS POLICY."SHE, TOO, REFUSED ANY ADJUSTMENT OR RESOLUTION TO THE PREMATURE TIRE WEAR. ADDITIONALLY, SHE WOULD NOT CONSIDER THE TIRE REPLACED 4/6/12 BECAUSE THE DEALER DID NOT FILE A CLAIM. HONDA CORPORATION UNILATERALLY CONTRACTS WITH CONTINENTAL TO PROVIDE THE 225/65R17-102T TIRES FOR THEIR CR-V PRODUCT. THE CUSTOMER CANNOT SUBSTITUTE THE BRAND OF TIRES. HONDA CONTINUES TO EQUIP CR-V MODELS WITH CONTINENTAL 225/65R17-102T TIRES EVEN THOUGH THEY HAVE BEEN ON NOTICE OF POOR TREAD PERFORMANCE FOR YEARS AND CONTINUE THE RELATIONSHIP KNOWING CONTINENTAL DOES NOT WARRANT THE PRODUCT. CONTINENTAL WILL NOT GIVE AN ADJUSTMENT AND HONDA CLAIMS THEY ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE. WHILE DRIVING TO WORK ON MAJOR HIGHWAY TRAVELING APPROX. 60-65 MPH PASSED A CAR AND THEN TOUCHED THE BRAKES.. SUDDENLY THE CAR ACCELERATED TO OVER 100 MPH WITH THE R PM'S RED-LINED. WITH 23,700 MILES, HONDA DEALER INFORMED ME THAT TIRES WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED DUE TO "EXCESSIVE WEAR AND TEAR". HAVE LEARNED THAT MANY 2011 CRV OWNERS HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS PROBLEM, AND THAT ALTHOUGH HONDA ISSUED A TSB ON THE TIRE MATTER, THEY HAVE PROVIDED NO CAUSE, RECALL OR MONETARY INCENTIVE. IS IT SUSPENSION, ALIGNMENT, WHAT? FURTHERMORE HAVE BEEN ILL ALL WINTER AND CAR HAS HARDLY MOVED FROM THE GARAGE, IT WORRIES ME THAT SOMETHING IS DEFECTIVE CAUSING THIS TIRE PROBLEM, AND HONDA HAS NOT STEPPED UP TO THE PLATE FOR RESOLUTION OR ASSISTANCE. *TR
I PURCHASED MY 2011 HONDA CRV BRAND NEW FROM OUR LOCAL HONDA DEALERSHIP. I HAVE BEEN HAPPY WITH IT UNTIL LAST MONTH. I BEGAN TO NOTICE THAT WHENEVER I CAME TO A STOP OR SLOWED DOWN BELOW 10 MPH AND THEN ACCELERATED, MY DOORS WOULD MAKE THE LOCKING SOUND EVEN THOUGH THEY WERE ALREADY LOCKED. IT HAPPENS REPEATEDLY AS I SLOW DOWN/STOP AND THEN ACCELERATE. THEN TODAY (3/4/2014) THE PROBLEM ESCALATED. I CAME OUT OF THE GROCERY STORE AND COULDN'T UNLOCK THE CARGO DOOR WITH MY KEY FOB. I NOTICED THAT THE LEFT PASSENGER DOOR DIDN'T UNLOCK AS WELL. I PRESSED THE BUTTON A FEW MORE TIMES AND THEY WOULDN'T UNLOCK. THE DRIVER DOOR, FRONT PASSENGER AND RIGHT REAR PASSENGER DOORS DID UNLOCK. SO THEN I PRESSED THE UNLOCK BUTTON ON THE DRIVER DOOR ARMREST BUT THE CARGO DOOR AND THE LEFT PASSENGER DOOR STILL DIDN'T UNLOCK. I HAD TO PUT MY GROCERIES IN THROUGH THE RIGHT REAR PASSENGER DOOR SINCE THE CARGO DOOR DOESN'T HAVE A WAY TO OPEN MANUALLY FROM THE INSIDE, NOR MANUALLY WITH A KEY FROM THE OUTSIDE. IF THIS PROBLEM GETS WORSE, THIS CAN POSE A VERY SERIOUS SAFETY PROBLEM. WHAT IF THERE'S AN EMERGENCY AND YOUR CAR DOESN'T UNLOCK? I JUST DID SOME RESEARCH ON THE PROBLEM TO SEE IF IT WAS SOMETHING SIMPLE THAT COULD BE FIXED. A QUICK ONLINE SEARCH BROUGHT MY ATTENTION TO COUNTLESS COMPLAINTS OF DOOR LOCK FAILURES ON CRV'S. SEEMS THIS IS AN ISSUE THAT'S BEEN GOING ON FOR YEARS (AT LEAST 2007-2011). I WAS SHOCKED TO FIND OUT HONDA HASN'T ISSUED A RECALL. THIS IS A WIDESPREAD AND SERIOUS PROBLEM! I CALLED MY HONDA DEALERSHIP TO FIND OUT THE APPROXIMATE COST TO REPLACE THE DOOR LOCK ACTUATORS. THIS ISN'T A CHEAP FIX! THEY WOULD CHARGE $180 LABOR FOR EACH DOOR THEY WOULD NEED TO FIX ON TOP OF THE COST OF EACH DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR WHICH RANGES FROM $59 TO $75 EACH, DEPENDING ON WHICH DOOR THE PART IS FOR. I WOULD NEED 2, POSSIBLY 3, REPLACED SO THAT WOULD BE ABOUT $500 TO ALMOST $750. *TR
WHILE DRIVING ON UN-CROWDED HIGHWAY SUNROOF LOUDLY EXPLODED AND RAINED GLASS INTO AND OUTSIDE THE VEHICLE. HIGHWAY SPEED OF APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH OUTDOOR TEMPERATURE APPROXIMATELY 40 DEGREES. PASSENGERS UNINJURED BUT VERY SCARED. GLASS WAS BLOWN OUT FROM INSIDE TO OUT. NO INDICATION OF AN IMPACT WAS PRESENT. NO OTHER VEHICLES WERE PRESENT TO CAUSE IMPACT. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO LOCAL DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY EXPLAINED IT MUST HAVE BEEN A "TINY ROCK" THAT CAUSED THE IMPACT SO THEY WOULD NOT REPAIR OR REPLACE THE DEFECTIVE PART EXCEPT AT THE OWNERS EXPENSE. SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE WITH REFUSAL DIRECTLY FROM AMERICAN HONDA AND LOCAL DEALERSHIP TO REMEDY. *TR

AT 2 YEARS, AFTER 19,000 MILES OF NORMAL SUBURBAN DRIVING, LOUD GRATING AND CLUNKING NOISES AND REPETITIVE VIBRATIONS CAME FROM THE BRAKES WHEN DRIVING AT A LOW SPEED [3-5 MPH] AND BECAME LOUDER WHEN BRAKES APPLIED. DEALER SAID ROTORS SEVERELY RUSTED AND HAD TO BE REPLACED [OEM] FOR $1,000. SAID RESURFACING COULD NOT BE DONE DUE TO SEVERITY OF RUST. 30 DAYS LATER SAME THING HAPPENED. AGAIN ALL FOUR BRAKE ROTORS WERE REPLACED [OEM]. NOW 12 MONTHS LATER AGAIN HAVE RUSTY BRAKE ROTORS WITH HARSH GRATING AND CLUNKING NOISES. CAR IS ROUTINELY PARKED IN LARGE GARAGE IN HIGH-RISE APARTMENT BUILDING MORE THAN 99% OF NIGHTS. THIS MAKES THREE FULL SETS OF FOUR ROTORS AFTER 19,000 MILES. DEALER ASKS IF I PARK IN DAMP LOCATION, BUT THE SECOND FLOOR GARAGE IS NEVER DAMP AND NOT NEAR WINDOW. DEALER SAYS HE HAS NO IDEA; MAYBE CHINESE USE BOGUS MATERIALS. BUT THESE ARE HONDA OEM. BRAKE ROTORS SHOULD CERTAINLY LAST MORE THAN 19,000 MILES [FIRST EPISODE] AND THREE FULL SETS SHOULD LAST MORE THAN 28,000 MILES AND 38 MONTHS. BRAKE ROTORS THAT RUST SO QUICKLY WHEN NOT ABUSED AND ARE SO DAMAGED THAT RESURFACING IS NOT EVEN POSSIBLE MUST SURELY BE CONSIDERED A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY ISSUE. IF THE ROTORS BECOME THIS THIN THIS FAST, THE BRAKES MAY VERY WELL FRACTURE DURING EMERGENCY BRAKING. *TR

MECHANIC (USING COMPUTER ALIGNMENT METHOD) DISCOVERED THAT CAMBER ALIGNMENT WAS NOT WITHIN THE SPECIFIED RANGE, HOWEVER, THERE IS NO CAMBER ADJUSTMENT OPTION ON THE VEHICLE. WITHOUT THE PROPER CAMBER ALIGNMENT, TIRE DESTRUCTION (IN THIS CASE INTERIOR EDGE CUPPING) OCCURS RESULTING IN AN UNSAFE TIRE CONDITION. AN AFTER-MARKET PART IS AVAILABLE TO PROVIDE THE NECESSARY CAMBER ADJUSTMENT, HOWEVER, IT IS NOT A HONDA OEM PART AND HONDA DOES NOT ACKNOWLEDGE RESPONSIBILITY RELATED TO THE ISSUE.
