Data synced from NHTSA on May 4, 2026
The contact owns a 2011 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that the dealer had installed a support brace on the vehicle under NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V228000 (Structure). The contact stated that after the recall repair was performed on the vehicle, the vehicle was bouncing off the road surface while driving over uneven or bumpy road surfaces, nearly causing him to lose control of the vehicle. The dealer and the manufacturer were notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 92,000.
Received recall notice from Honda, attempted to make an appointment in May 2023 with Lia Honda in Enfield. Lia Honda failed to return multiple calls and set up an appointment, telling me “We will call you when we have the parts for this recall”. Once it reached September, I called a Honda dealership and repair center in Manchester and have an appointment with them in November 2023. This is completely unacceptable as the recall states that failure to make this appointment can cause the operator to lose control of the vehicle and crash.
Faulty actuator in front passenger door, door remains locked shut and as a result the hatch is also locked shut due to connection between doors. Honda has quoted me $900 to repair including needing to destroy interior panel and pay to replace part due to issue that was recalled in 2007-09 CR-V's. Approximately mileage is 160,000.
The contact owns a 2011 Honda CR-V. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V228000 (Structure) and the vehicle was taken to the dealer for the recall repair; however, the dealer determined that the vehicle could not be repaired due to the extensive corrosion. The contact stated that the manufacturer was notified and offered to repurchase the vehicle; however, the repurchasing offer was less than the market value. The contact stated that the manufacturer failed to honor the recall obligations. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact stated that the vehicle was undrivable. The failure mileage was approximately 143,000. Parts distribution disconnect.
Driver's door actuator failed. It gives a buzzing sound when the door is manually locked or when the auto lock engages when driving. I have contacted a Honda dealer in Bloomington, Indiana to find the information on recall replacement. Thank you for your help and guidance in this matter.
I was sent a recall notice fora SAFETY DEFECT that the rear frame that can deteriorate and trailing arm can fall off. I called the Honda of ILLINOIS dealer In Springfield Illinois to schedule an appointment for the recall and was told I would be put on a Waiting list and they only schedule 2 of these recalls per week. This vehicle is the only mode of transportation, and is driven on the highway to and from a nearby city 40 minutes away on a daily basis. There are children being transported in this vehicle and I am concerned for their safety. I called as soon as I received the recall notice in May and have yet to hear back from them as to when It can be repaired. This is a safety issue and I feel needs addressed . (update) they returned the call as I was typing this note and they tell me "there is quite a few people ahead of me that have this recall" This is unacceptable to have to wait over 60 days for a recall repair that is a safety issue!
I received an open recall notice via email on 1 May 2023 for my 2011 Honda CR-V. The notice stated that my vehicle was added to the open recall on 9 Apr 2023. My vehicle has been housed in the state of Virginia since August 2016 (7 years) that is affected by the recall NHTSA campaign number: 23V228, Honda code for recall: XDZ. Our family is active duty military and our vehicles are registered in the state of residence other than Virginia as required by law. I believe my 2011 Honda CR-V is affected by the recall and fear for my and my family's safety. For an unknown reason, the recall was removed from my vehicle. I contacted Honda Customer Service on 14 July 2023, requested Honda to escalate my concern, and I have been assigned a Honda case number by representative Jaslyn.
I do not own this car. A dealer is selling this recalled car online. You need to know. This car isn't safe.
The contact owns a 2011 Honda CR-V. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V228000 (Structure) however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.
The contact owns a 2011 Honda CR-V. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V228000 (Structure) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. An undisclosed dealer was contacted and confirmed that the part was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.
On March 15, 2023, I was driving on clear, dry pavement at approx. 50 mph when I heard a loud bang from the rear of my Honda CR-V and almost lost control of my steering. I maintained enough control to stay on the roadway and brought the car to a stop after about 200 yards. I had the car towed to my regular mechanic who told me that the suspension had fallen away from the frame of the car and it wasn't fixable. I contacted Honda at an 800 number and was told that I needed to have a Honda dealership confirm the problem, which I did. After further research online, I found out that Honda of Canada had issued a recall for certain year models of my car for a corrosion issue that would cause a failure in the part that connects the suspension to the frame. I then contacted Honda of North America requesting help; I was informed that Honda recalls vehicles solely by VIN, and there was no recall issued for mine. So here I sit with a useless car and no recourse.
TPMS light comes off and on even though tires are fine. Back of vehicle shakes, and feels unstable especially on highway when speeds are higher. And you can hear a sound clicking that comes from the rear end of the vehicle.
The contact owned a 2011 Honda CR-V. The contact stated while driving at approximately 50 MPH the steering wheel jerked to the right and the vehicle to moved to the right of the road. The contact stated that when he attempted to correct the steering there was no response to his correction. The contact stated the "traction" warning light had been illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle had driven off the road, he no longer had control, and the vehicle rolled onto the passenger side. The police arrived on the scene and wrote a report. The contact stated that all the air bags had deployed. The contact stated he was not injured. The contact stated that the vehicle was towed to an impound lot. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The contact stated he had recently received a recall letter from the manufacturer for NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V228000 (Structure). The contact did not have it confirmed but he related the crash to NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V228000 (Structure). The failure mileage was approximately 150,000.
Severe erosion under framing and exhaust of vehicle. Safety risk of the frame falling off and injuring myself or others on the road. Car could easily result in a major accident. Problem has been confirmed by a Honda dealer, that is how I found out the entire frame is eroded. No inspection has been done by manufacturer. No warning lights or messages, only very loud exhaust sound.
The doors are automatically locking at 9 MPH while driving - when you initially pull out and meet the speed of 9 MPH AND then every time thereafter your speed is 9 MPH the doors will all lock. Passenger door and now rear hatch door does not unlock using the key remote OR the inside button to unlock. Currently all other doors are working.
The contact owns a 2011 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that while driving at 65 mph in inclement weather, the vehicle slid on ice and collided with a steel pole, breaking the pole. The contact was unsure if there were warning lights illuminated. The impact of the crash was on the driver's side, and the rear of the vehicle. The air bags failed to deploy. The driver sustained head, neck, shoulder, and mid-back injuries, and medical treatment was provided to the contact. A police report was taken. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the air bag, air bag sensor, driver's headlamp, driver's seat belt, and driver's door, needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 160,000.
The contact owns a 2011 Honda CR-V. The contact stated while pulling forward at approximately 3 MPH, into his driveway, after the rotors, calipers and brake pads were replaced; there was an abnormally loud bang heard. The contact stated that the rear driver's side control arm had sheared off. The contact stated that the drivers' side wheel was almost detached from the axle. The contact became aware of extensive rust on the rear frame and suspension. The contact had not taken the vehicle to a local dealer or independent mechanic. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 192,000. The VIN was not available.
My 2011 Honda CR-V's Check Engine Light came on within the past week, and continues to stay on. I went to Autozone to get a diagnostic check. Per their recommendations, I tightened the fuel tank cap but the check engine light is still on. It also diagnosed a P0455 EVAP, Emission Control System Leak Trouble Code. I have scheduled an appointment for 10/12/2022 at 12:00 PM at Christian Brothers, 12000 Bermuda Crossroad Ln Chester, VA 23831.
The contact owns a 2011 Honda CR-V. The contact stated while driving approximately 30-40 MPH, the vehicle inadvertently veered to the opposite lane of the road, causing the front driver's side to crash into an embarkment. The air bags did not deploy. The contact stated that he hit his left knee and sustained severe pain that lasted a long time. The contact received medical assistance. No police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to the residence. The contact stated that while inspecting the vehicle, he noticed that the frame was fractured. The contact later received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V228000 (Structure), which he related to the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a case was opened. The dealer was then contacted and notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 200,432.
Doors keep locking and unlocking while driving. Could be lock actuators defected.
Driver side air bag inflator pump is defective resulting into SRS light on occasionally. State inspection failed on vehicle due to the issue. Registered case with Honda but case is not assigned to any case managers despite calling 5 times. It’s been more than 3 weeks and still no answer from Honda. This was safety recall for the same part but entering vehicle VIN number in the safety recall tool shows zero recalls pending on the vehicle. Can you please advise what steps I should take now??)
The rear driver's side door remains unlocked unless physically locked. Locking with the fob or with buttons in the front of the vehicle does not work. This is dangerous for children as child lock does not function. A child could open the door intentionally or unintentionally and create a serious hazard for themselves as aell as other drivers. It is also dangerous as it allows criminals entry into the vehicle if the driver is not aware that this lock isn't functioning or merely forgets.
The back passenger door on the driver side keeps unlocking itself. Well driving and when parked. The key fob locks it but within seconds it's unlocked again.
I was on the highway driving straight and steady. The driver side rear wheel/ lower control arm went to a 30 degree angle and pulled the axle from the rear differential. The wheel locked up and the vehicle was very difficult to control. I skidded to the shoulder leaving a 400 foot skid mark. Thankfully there was no one near me as traffic was very light. If road or traffic conditions were any worse there would almost certainly been a serious accident. I have extensive mechanical experience and have never seen a 11 year old vehicle fail from corrosion in this manor. There is a recall in Canada for this exact issue and Honda is/has helped repair/replace many there vehicles with this issue. It has been inspected by NYS inspectors annually and never raised any flags. I was never notified by honda to check to check for this issue and the dealership it was bought from is refusing to help. The 2011 Crv appears relatively rust free other than the area that failed and the other side almost as bad. This is a serious safety issue and Honda needs to do something to prevent future injuries and deaths. This failure happened with no warning at all. Thank you.
2011 Honda CR-V. Excessive rear frame corrosion resulted in rear control arm separation from vehicle. This was subject of recall in Canada but Honda USA not recalling here (upstate NY). Honda has recalled the Ridgeline and Element for very similar issue. The Issue caused me to almost crash and could have been injured. Rear driver side wheel came loose and went sideways causing me to skid off road. Passenger side of vehicle is near failure also. Vehicle gave no indication of failure before it happened. I had recently had wheel alignment and annual NYS safety inspections. Have been talking to Honda and dealer for 5 months. Refusing to help.
Actuator that controls locks has gone out twice in 3 years. It is approximately $500 to replace. Vehicle randomly locks itself over and over when powered on or off. Sometimes power locks will not unlock any doors including the hatch.
Honda Nav system reverted to 2002 and can be reset to correct date and time. System not getting online updates from sat in a timely manor. It appears to also be causing issues with on line CPU - on dash mileage reports on gas consumption will bounce from 5 MPG to 70MPG then may stay stable for a while.
At the beginning of the current year, 2002, the date displayed on the navigation system reverted to 2002 and the time changed to an incorrect time. No DIY user solutions have worked to fix these software issues. Honda has reported these issues in a number of vehicle models and claim they will "self-correct" eight months (August, 2022) from now.
When the year changed to 2022, the time display on the radio/navigation control unit changed to 1Jan 2002. Honda is aware of the problem, per phone conversation, however, they have never sent out a notification to owners. I believe this affects 2007-2012 Honda's.
The contact owns a 2011 Honda CR-V. The contact stated while driving 60 MPH, the rear driver's side wheel, the lower control arm, and the axle detached, causing the contact to almost lose control of the vehicle. The contact was able to veer to the side of the road. The vehicle was towed to the residence. The dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not included in a recall. The contact later received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V228000 (Structure) and contacted the manufacturer for the recall repair. The manufacturer advised the contact to tow the vehicle to the dealer. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer, where a regional field inspector from Honda determined that the vehicle was beyond repair due to severe frame corrosion. The manufacturer opened a case. The contact stated that the recall remedy also involved buying back the vehicle if the vehicle was beyond repair; however, the contact had not received a call back from the manufacturer since April 2023. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The failure mileage was approximately 115,000. Parts distribution disconnect.
The door lock actuator has malfunctioned in my 2011 Honda CRV and this is not covered under a recall or warranty. This has caused my vehicle doors to not be able to open as well, my hatch will not unlock to enable me to open that. There was no warning or any other symptoms prior. From a safety perspective, if I were to be in an accident and have passengers in my vehicle, they would be unable to exit the vehicle if they were in the backseat of my vehicle. Also, how do I know that this won't eventually affect the drivers door which will then cause me to not be able to exit the vehicle in the event of an emergency.
I replaced my rear wheel hubs with new driveworks hub assemblys from advance auto parts. The car fell apart driving down the interstate. Both rear hubs snapped and my tires came off with half of the hub attached to the car and half attached to the tires. Pueblo Colorado police department responded and my case number is 21-018947.
The contact owns a 2011 Honda CR-V. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the brake pedal engaged independently as the ABS warning light illuminated, causing the vehicle to stop independently. The contact attempted to release the brake pedal however, the brake pedal failed to release. The contact waited for a several minutes and the vehicle resumed normal operation. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed however, the mechanic was unable to duplicate the issue. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact did not feel safe driving the vehicle. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 55,078.
Rust hole found in unibody at passenger's side rear where trailing arm bolts to vehicle in front of passenger's side rear wheel. Because this is so close to the bolt for the trailing arm, this is an immediate safety issue. Hole originally there but rust caused it to enlarge significantly. The trialing arm could break at any point and cause a severe crash. I was about to go on a long road trip and very likely this could have broken. Consumer stated the safety issue is caused by a design flaw in the 2007-2011 Honda CR-V models and in fact a recall for this issue has happened in Canada. The issue was discovered by my local mechanic during a routine oil change and tire rotation. There were no warnings, messages, or symptoms. After researching I found that this exact issue is being recalled in Canada but not in the United States. I live in Vermont and experience the same harsh winters and salted roads as Canada. Shocked that this is not a recall in my area.
The contact owns a 2011 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to lock or unlock while using the key fob from outside the vehicle, or while pushing the unlock button inside the vehicle. The contact also stated that the vehicle would repeatedly lock and unlock independently while driving. The contact attempted to notify the dealer but was unable to reach a representative. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 170,000. The VIN was not available.
DOORS ARE NOT UNLOCKING ON MY 2011 HONDA CR-V. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS. I PARKED THE CAR OVERNIGHT AND THE DOORS WON'T UNLOCK. ON FURTHER INVESTIGATION, I SAW THAT DRIVER SIDE DOOR LOCK IS STUCK. IT WON'T UNLOCK WITH KEY FOB NOR WITH THE KEY. VERY VERY DANGEROUS. MEANING, NOW I EITHER I HAVE TO KEEP THE WINDOWS DOWN AND FEAR THE CAR BEING STOLEN OR FEAR I WON'T BE ABLE TO COME OUT OF THE CAR IN THE EVENT OF AN CRASH. I SAW ONLINE THAT THERE ARE COUNTLESS COMPLAINTS ABOUT LOCK ACTUATORS BEING FAULTY BUT HONDA STILL DID NOT ISSUE A RECALL.
CAR LOCK ACTUATORS FAILED. LOCKS UNLOCK WHILE DRIVING, AND NOW THE LOCKS HAVE COMPLETELY FAILED AND I CAN'T UNLOCK MY CAR.
IT APPEARS HONDA HAS A KNOWN DEFECT CONCERNING THE DRIVER DOOR LOCKING AND UNLOCKING MECHANISM AND THEY CHOOSE TO MAKE THE CONSUMER RESPONSIBLE FOR THE COST OF REPAIR AND IF DAMAGE CAUSED BY THEIR EFFORTS TO REPAIR THE CUSTOMER'S RESPONSIBILITY.THANKFULLY THE 1,800 QUOTE TO REPLACE THE DOOR PANEL WAS AVOIDED; HOWEVER, I WAS CHARGED $839.74 (391.15 PARTS AND 360 FOR LABOR AT DUVAL HONDA). THE DRIVER DOOR WOULD NOT UNLOCK, WHICH EFFECTED THE TRUNK INABILITY TO OPEN AND I HAD TO GET IN AND OUT BY LEAVING THE PASSENGER SIDE UNLOCKED AND MANUALLY UNLOCKING THE PASSENGER SIDE TO GET IN AND OUT OF THE 2011 CRV-EX. IF I WASN'T FLEXIBLE I WOULD HAVE BEEN TRAPPED IN MY OWN CAR, WHICH IS A SAFETY ISSUE. IT IS DISAPPOINTING OF HONDA'S LACK OF ACCOUNTABILITY.
I'M LEAVING TARGET A BASKET FULL OF GROCERIES AROUND 7 PM MARCH 13-2021, USING MY KEY THROB AND KEY HOLE ON THE DOOR I WAS UNSUCCESSFUL UNLOCKING THE DOOR OR TRUNK. I MANAGED TO UNLOCK THE PASSENGER DOOR TO GET OVER TO THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR TO MANUALLY TRY TO OPEN THE DOOR AND THE LOCK DID NOT MOVE. I SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT 3-23-2019 THE DEALERSHIP I PURCHASED THE CRV AND THEY DID NOT SEEM TO BE AWARE OF MY DOOR ISSUE BEING COMMON AND I WAS NEVER INFORMED DURING ANY OF MY SERVICE APPOINTMENTS WITH THEM. I SPOKE WITH NEAL THE SERVICE DEPT DIRECTOR AND WAS TOLD THE WARRANTY FOR MY CAR ENDED IN 2017 SO I AM RESPONSIBLE FOR MY REPAIRS. MY SERVICE ADVISOR CHARGES $60 FOR DIAGNOSIS, THEN CALLS BACK AND SAYS THE COST JUST WENT UP TO $150 BECAUSE THEY WERE HAVING A HARD TIME OPENING THE DOOR, THEN STATES THEY WILL HAVE TO KEEP MY CAR ANOTHER DAY AND THAT I WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR REPAIRS OF A NEW DOOR PANEL IF THEY DAMAGE IT IN THEIR EFFORT TO OPEN THE DOOR AND THAT THE COST WOULD BE $1,800. I NEED MY TRANSPORTATION, MY CAR IS PAID IN FULL, I'M UNDERSTANDING WHY THEY CHOSE NOT TO REVEAL OR BE DUMBFOUNDED WHEN I MENTIONED ACCORDING TO THE LAWSUIT IT WAS TO REPAIR THE DOORS RATHER YOU WERE EXPERIENCING THE PROBLEM OR NOT. IT'S THEIR PRODUCT BUT THEY DON'T WANT ACCOUNTABILITY FOR A KNOWN ISSUE. I DROVE HOME WITH MY WINDOWS DOWN IN CASE I NEEDED TO CLIMB OUT THE WINDOW. I WAS HAVING AN ANXIETY ATTACK AFRAID I WOULD BE TRAPPED IN MY CAR INSIDE OR OUTSIDE. NEAL SAYS IT WASN'T A SAFETY ISSUE SO IT WAS AN EXTENDED WARRANTY VS A RECALL. IT IS DEFINITELY A SAFETY ISSUE ON SO MANY LEVELS. I'M JUST SURPRISED I NEVER KNEW ABOUT THE ISSUE UNTIL I STARTED EXPERIENCING THE PROBLEM.
NOTE ! THIS IS NOT A DEFECTIVE VEHICLE SITUATION, BUT A MALFUNCTIONING BRAKING SYSTEM MANUFACTURED BY BLUE OX. THE HONDA WAS A TOWED VEHICLE BEHIND A MOTOR HOME. PLEASE READ THE DETAILS CAREFULLY. THE MANUFACTURER, BLUE OX OBVIOUSLY WAS AWARE THAT DANGEROUS SITUATIONS COULD OCCUR AS THEY HAVE A PARAGRAPH IN THE BACK OF THEIR MANUAL ABOUT THE POSSIBILITY OF A "FALSE BREAKAWAY" HAVING THIS OCCUR COULD HAVE RESULTED INTO A SERIOUS FATAL ACCIDENT. WHY IS BLUE OX ALLOWED TO SELL A PRODUCT THAT COULD POTENTIALLY CREATE A SERIOUS MAJOR ACCIDENT? I HAVE UPLOADED ALL OF THE COMMUNICATIONS WITH BLUE OX AS WELL AS PHOTOS OF THE DESTROYED TIRES ON THE TOWED VEHICLE. IN FEBRUARY 2020, I HAD A LOCAL DEALER INSTALL A BLUE OX ACCENT WITH THE PATRIOT 3 BRAKING SYSTEM. WE USED IT LAST YEAR WITH NO ISSUES WHATSOEVER. (APPROX 3,000 MILES) WE LEFT OUR HOME FEBRUARY 10, 2021 TO TRAVEL TO FLORIDA KEYS AND UP THE GULF COAST. AT THAT POINT, WE COVERED OVER ANOTHER 2,000 MILES WITH NO ISSUES. WHEN WE CROSSED OVER IN GA, THERE WAS QUITE A BIT OF CONSTRUCTION. WE WERE TRAVELING 50 MPH SINCE IT WAS A CONSTRUCTION ZONE AND THERE WAS ONE LARGE BUMP, WHICH APPARENTLY CAUSED THE BREAKAWAY SWITCH TO ENGAGE AND LOCKED UP THE WHEELS ON THE TOW VEHICLE. AS SOON AS IT OCCURRED AND I REALIZED WHAT HAPPENED, I PULLED THE POWER SUPPLY OUT OF THE DASH SENDING UNIT, WHICH RELEASED THE TOW VEHICLE BRAKES. HOWEVER, I NOW HAVE 4 RUINED TIRES AS THEY ARE FLAT SPOTTED. IS THIS A NORMAL OCCURRENCE ? WE ARE TRAVELING AGAIN TO TOMORROW AND I AM RELUCTANT TO CONNECT THE BREAKAWAY SENSOR AGAIN AS IT COULD CREATE A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. WE ARE HUNDREDS OF MILES FROM HOME AND THE DEALER THAT INSTALLED THE UNIT. WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ? IS THERE ANY RECOMMENDATIONS THAT YOU CAN MAKE AS I AM CERTAIN THAT THERE WILL BE OTHER CONSTRUCTION ON I-95 AS WE TRAVEL NORTH.*DT
I WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE ON MY TOWN'S STREETS AROUND 35 MPH AS USUAL WHEN MY VEHICLE'S CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STARTED FLASHING AND I WAS UNABLE TO ACCELERATE PAST 20 MPH. I IMMEDIATELY TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE AUTOZONE IN TOWN AND THEY STATED IT WAS AN ENGINE MISFIRE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE NEAREST CAR REPAIR SHOP AS A HONDA DEALERSHIP WAS OVER 25 MILES AWAY AND I WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS AN ENGINE MISFIRE IN CYLINDER 1. THEY ARE STILL TRYING TO FIND OUT WHAT CAUSED THE MISFIRE. WHY WAS CRV'S NOT INCLUDED UNDER THE CLASS LAWSUIT WITH HONDA?
I bought my car in 2021, and starting immediately I had issues with my tires going flat, my suspension jolting any time a bump was hit, my gear shift does not fully shift into park which makes it nearly impossible to get my key out of the ignition, I was given a spare key to someone else’s car and was never issued a new one, and dealership (CarMax) has not made an attempt to help with repair on current safety recall.
The contact's client owns a 2011 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that while his client was driving at undisclosed speeds, the driver’s side door lock actuator mechanism would independently lock and unlock on all four doors without warning. The contact's client could hear the doors locking and unlocking while driving. The vehicle was taken to the independent mechanic where he determined that the door lock actuator was defective and needed to be replaced. The contact called Millennium Honda (286 N Franklin St, Hempstead, NY 11550) and North Shore Honda (611 Glen Cove Rd, Glen Head, NY 11545) where the contact was informed by both dealers that there were no recalls on the vehicle. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 139,000.
POOR ACCELERATION AND PICKUP WHEN APPLYING GAS. WORSE IN HOTTER WEATHER. THERE IS A HONDA SERVICE BULLETIN FOR THUS PROBLEM ON SAME YEAR VEHICLE FOR COMPUTER FIRMWARE UPDATE TO FIX THE PROBLEM, 10-077 TSB, BUT MY LOCAL HONDA DEALER REFUSES TO DO IT. SAYS MY VIN DOESN'T FALL INTO IT, EVEN KNOW THE SYMPTOMS ARE EXACTLY WHAT IT FIXES. FRUSTRATED. NO PICKUP IS REALLY DANGEROUS WHEN TRYING TO GET ON INTERSTATE AND IT IS MY DAUGHTER'S CAR.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 HONDA CR-V. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER EXITING THE VEHICLE AND LOCKING THE DOORS AND WALKING AWAY, THE SECURITY ALARM INADVERTENTLY ACTIVATED. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO LOCK THE VEHICLE WITHOUT THE ALARM BEING ACTIVATED. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE LOCAL DEALER HONDA OF MANSFIELD WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 147,000.
2011 HONDA CRV. THE DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR STOPPED WORKING. I WAS NOT ABLE TO OPEN THE DOORS IN MANUAL WITH KEY OR WIRELESSLY ( REMOTE). THIS IS ALSO A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH OTHER CRV MODEL YEARS AND A LEGAL CASE WAS WON IN FAVOR OF CONSUMERS OF CERTAIN MODEL YEARS TO HAVE IT REPAIRED BY HONDA FREE OF CHARGE.
NO HEAT WHEN VEHICLE IS OPERATIONAL (STATIONARY AND IN MOTION) AND HEATING CONTROLS ARE ENGAGED. THOUGHT AT FIRST IT WAS THE AUTHORIZED OPERATOR HAVING AN ISSUE WITH IT ON 8/15/2020, BUT WHEN THE OWNER TRIED IT ON 9/8/2020, PROBLEM WAS CONFIRMED.
I VISITED THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP FOR THE RECALL WORK. THEY DID NOT COMPLETE THE RECALL WORK. *TR
I HIT BRAKES HARD DUE TO A HOLE IN THE HIGHWAY THAT WAS HARD TO SEE. THE BRAKES LOCKED DOWN AND THE CAR VIOLENTLY WENT SIDE TO SIDE AND BECAME DIFFICULT TO STEER-ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE. I FINALLY GOT IT TO GO RIGHT TO THE SHOULDER AND ONTO GRASSY AREA AND GOT IT TO STOP. AT THE TIME WAS TRAVELING ABOUT 55 MPH-THE POSTED LIMIT. *TR
I HAVE A CRV THAT I PURCHASED NEW IN 2011. DURING THE WARRANTY PERIOD AND SEVERAL YEARS AFTER THAT I HAD ALL THE MAINTENANCE WORK DONE AT THE DEALERSHIP. RECENTLY I HAD TWO DOORS THAT I CANNOT OPEN WITH THE REMOTE OR KEY, THE PASSENGER SIDE REAR DOOR AND THE HATCH BACK DOOR. HONDA WANTS TO CHARGE ME OVER $800 TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM. WHAT IF ALL DOORS LOCK UP AND I CANNOT GET INTO MY CAR; WILL I HAVE TO PAY OVER $3000 TO GET INTO MY CAR? EVEN IF HAD EXTENDED INSURANCE WITH 3RD PARTIES, THIS IS NOT COVERED, I CHECKED. ISN'T THIS ON HONDA? *TR
