HONDA CRV 2014 NOICE IN THE ENGINE WHEN I'M DRIVING THE CAR AND IS ANNOYING VERY BAD . NIGHT LIGHT IS NOT WORKING CORRECTLY THE LIGHT IS NOT BRIGHT AN ACCIDENT CAN HAPPEN AC A GAS SMELL IS COMING FROM INSIDE THE AC
I WOULD LIKE TO FILE A COMPLAINT FOR HONDA'S VTC ACTUATOR. MY HONDA CRV 2014 WAS PURCHASED BRAND NEW SEPTEMBER 2014. AT 50,000 MILES THE VEHICLE STARTED TO MAKE A RATTLING/GRINDING NOISE WHEN STARTED IN THE COLD. I WAS ASSURED BY THE DEALERSHIP THAT THIS WAS NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT. I HAVE NOW FOUND OUT THAT THERE IS A KNOWN DEFECT FROM THE VTC ACTUATOR THAT ALL HONDA CRV'S FROM THIS YEAR ENCOUNTERED THE SAME ISSUE BECAUSE OF THE DEFECT FROM HONDA. AS A CONSUMER WHO PURCHASED A NEW VEHICLE, HONDA SHOULD HAVE REPLACED/FIXED THIS ISSUE ON ANY VEHICLE THAT IS HAVING THIS PROBLEM SINCE IT IS A DEFECT. I STILL HAVE YET TO FIX IT AND WOULD HOPE THAT A RECALL SHOULD BE MADE SINCE THEY ARE AWARE OF THE FAULTY PART THAT HAS BEEN INSTALLED IN BRAND NEW VEHICLES.
UPON STARTING CAR IN THE MORNING, CAR IS STATIONARY, WITH TEMPERATURES BELOW FREEZING, THE ENGINE MAKES A GRINDING NOISE, IF ONLY FOR A FEW SECONDS.
TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING CONSTANTLY GOES ON WHEN TIRES ARE GOOD.
HATCH SWITCH/HANDLE DOES NOT WORK WHEN THE WEATHER BECOMES COLDER. I HAVE SEEN THIS ISSUE IN MANY FORUMS AND IT AFFECTS EVEN CURRENT MODELS. WHEN IT WARMS UP OUTSIDE THEN IT WORKS AGAIN. THIS SURE SEEMS LIKE A DESIGN DEFECT WHICH HONDA SHOULD ADDRESS VIA A TB AND RECALL TO FIX.
MY 2014 HONDA CR-V HAS NO HEAT ON THE DRIVER SIDE. THIS HAS BEEN AN ISSUE FOR OVER A YEAR NOW. I AM TOLD IT IS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. THE FRONT DEFROST DOES NOT WORK ON THE DRIVER SIDE, WHICH MAKES IT UNSAFE TO DRIVE. WARM AIR BLOWS OUT OF THE PASSENGER SIDE AND COLD AIR BLOWS OUT OF THE DRIVER SIDE. I'VE BEEN TOLD IT IS A CLOGGED HEATER CORE CAUSED BY THE FLUID HONDA USES.
THE TRUNK LATCH STICKS AND CAUSES YOU TO BE UNABLE TO OPEN YOUR TRUNK. OVER THE PAST COUPLE MONTHS THE LATCH STARTED TO STICK WHICH I CHALKED UP TO THE COLD WEATHER CAUSING IT TO STICK BUT NOW IT DOESN'T OPEN AT ALL.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 HONDA CR-V. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS CONSUMING AN EXCESSIVE AMOUNT OF OIL. THE FAILURE WAS FIRST NOTICED DURING AN OIL CHANGE AND THERE WAS HARDLY ANY OIL IN THE OIL PAN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO KELLY HONDA (540 LYNNWAY, LYNN, MA 01905, (781) 484-0160) AND THEY STATED THAT THE VEHICLE NORMALLY CONSUMED THAT AMOUNT OF OIL. THE CONTACT HAD TO TAKE THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER THREE MORE TIMES FOR THE SAME FAILURE AFTER NOTICING THE OIL LEVELS WERE LOW. THE DEALER PERFORMED AN OIL CHANGE AND ASKED THE CONTACT TO RETURN AFTER 1,000 MILES. WHEN THE CONTACT RETURNED, THE DEALER CHECKED THE OIL LEVEL AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE LEVELS WERE FINE. THE CONTACT WAS NOT CONVINCED AND THE DEALER INFORMED HER TO DRIVE ANOTHER 1,000 MILES AND BRING THE VEHICLE BACK. WHEN THE CONTACT RETURNED, THE DEALER STATED THAT THERE WAS ENGINE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WARRANTY DID NOT COVER THE REPAIRS; HOWEVER, THE CONTACT COULD PAY THE DEALER $1,500 FOR THE REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 23,500. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN.
MY 2014 CRV HAS EXCESSIVE VIBRATION WHEN I AM IN DRIVE BUT IDLING. IT DOES NOT HAPPEN IN PARK OR NEUTRAL. ONLY WHEN IN DRIVE OR REVERSE AND STOPPED. IT IS EXCESSIVE. MY STEALING WHEEL VIBRATES, CUPS...PENS.. IT COMES THROUGH MY SEAT AND IT KIND OF MAKES ME SICK. I HAVE TAKEN THIS TO HONDA SEVERAL TIMES. I HAVE HAD MOTOR MOUNTS AND TRANSMISSION MOUNTS REPLACED. I HAVE HAD A COMPRESSOR REPLACED. NONE OF THIS HAS STOPPED THE EXCESSIVE VIBRATION. THIS ISSUE ONLY HAPPENS WHEN THE CAR HAS BEEN RUNNING FOR AT LEAST 15 MINUTES. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR YEARS, WITH NO SOLUTION.
LOUD GRINDING SOUND WHEN STARTING THE CAR IN THE GARAGE. THIS HAS HAPPENED IN THE PAST ON COLD DAYS BUT TEMPERATURE TODAY WAS IN THE 50S. I AM CONCERNED ABOUT DAMAGE FROM THIS AS THE DAYS HERE IN WISCONSIN ARE ONLY GOING TO GET COLDER. I AM KEEPING A RUNNING LIST OF OCCURRENCES AND DOCUMENTING DATES AND TEMPERATURES.
MY WIFE WAS DRIVING TO WORK AT 65 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY, 8 PM, TEMPERATURE APPROX. 75F IN MILPITAS, CA. THE SUN ROOF WAS COMPLETELY CLOSED AND THE INSIDE SLIDING COVER WAS CLOSED(THANK GOODNESS) WHEN IT SUDDENLY SHATTERED.SHE DID NOT SEE ANY OBJECT IMPACT IT. NO OVERPASSES, LIGHT TRAFFIC. ON CLOSER INSPECTION THE NEXT MORNING, I OBSERVED THE REMAINING LARGE PIECES WERE FLARED OUTWARD, AS IF IT HAD EXPLODED.( PLEASE FIND PHOTOS) I HAVE SINCE BECOME AWARE THAT THESE TYPES OF FAILURES ARE BECOMING MUCH MORE FREQUENT.(REPAIR RECEIPT ALSO ATTACHED)
AT COLD START-UP, THE ENGINE RATTLES LOUDLY FOR ABOUT 2 SECONDS. THIS ONLY OCCURS ON THE FIRST START OF THE DAY. I WOULD LIKE TO NOTE DOT HONDA SERVICE BULLETIN SB-10041669-6712 HAS NOT BEEN UPDATED SINCE OCTOBER 6,2012 AND THEREFOR ONLY COVERS HONDA CR-V'S UP UNTIL 2012. THIS ISSUE IS EASILY FOUND ON HONDA FORUMS SUCH AS HONDAPROBLEMS.COM AND MULTIPLE TIMES HERE: HTTPS://HONDA-TECH.COM/FORUMS/HONDA-ELEMENT-CR-V-156/2014-CR-V-GRINDING-NOISE-START-UP-3228595/ 5 YEARS FOR A SERVICE BULLETIN UPDATE IS SIMPLY IRRESPONSIBLE PROBLEM MANAGEMENT ON HONDA'S BEHALF. THE SUPPORTING EVIDENCE IS READILY AVAILABLE FROM MANY CR-V OWNERS ON FORUMS, NOT TO MENTION THE LARGE AMOUNT OF COMPLAINTS DIRECTLY ON THE NHTSA WEBSITE. CORRECT THIS ISSUE AND TAKE ACTION.
WHEN THEW HEATER IS ACTIVATED, THE DRIVERS SIDE DOES NOT HEAT. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE PER TSB# 14-063, ATB 00239-01113 REV1 (1411). THIS COMPLAINT IS ALL OVER THE NET AND THE DEALER WILL NOT TOUCH IT...UNLESS I PAY A HIGH PRICE TO REPAIR A POORLY ENGINEERED HEATER CORE.
HEATER NOT BLOWING HOT AIR. HONDA ANTI-FREEZE SEEMS TO BE DISSOLVING RADIATOR
I WAS PULLING INTO MY PARKING SPACE AT WORK AT ABOUT 5 MILES AN HOUR. I APPLIED THE BRAKE AND SUDDENLY ACCELERATED AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED INTO THE BRICK WALL OF THE BUILDING ABOUT 10 FEET AWAY. FRONT END DAMAGE TO THE CAR AND DAMAGE TO THE BUILDING. THIS IS THE 2ND TIME I HAVE HAD SUDDEN ACCELERATION. THE FIRST TIME I WAS PREPARING TO PULL INTO A PARKING SPACE BUT I WAS FURTHER AWAY FROM THE BUILDING. I STOMPED ON THE BRAKES REPEATEDLY AND WAS ABLE TO STOP JUST BEFORE HITTING ANYTHING.
CAR HESITATES AND THEN MAY SURGE ON ACCELERATION, ESPECIALLY FROM FULL STOP, ROLLING STOP, OR LOW SPEED, AS IN HIGHWAY MERGING. I SUSPECT THE TRANSMISSION. IT IS INTERMITTENT, AT LEAST SEVERAL TIMES/WEEK FROM 2014-2017. HONDA WON'T ADDRESS IT BECAUSE THEY SAY THEY CAN'T REPLICATE IT.
AIR IS GETTING INTO THE PASSENGER SIDE PROBABLY THROUGH DEFECTIVE WINDOW SEAL. MAY BE DOOR GLASS SEPARATION FROM REGULATOR. HAS BEEN THIS WAY FOR THREE YEARS. HONDA WON'T DEAL WITH IT.
CAR HAS A LOUD RATTLE OR GRINDING SOUND ON A COLD STARTUP. LAST A COUPLE OF SECONDS THEN GOES AWAY. HAS DONE THIS FOR 3 YEARS, SINCE I GOT IT.
TIRE PRESSURE WARNING LIGHT COMES ON WHEN PRESSURE IS FINE AND/OR COMES BACK ON AFTER RECALIBRATION AND CORRECT PRESSURE IN TIRES IN CONFIRMED. HAS DONE THIS FOR 3 YEARS, INTERMITTENTLY. HONDA WON'T DEAL WITH THE PROBLEM BECAUSE THEY CAN'T REPLICATE IT.
ENGINE MAKES GRINDING NOISE AT START IN COLD OR FROM SITTING. HAVE BEEN TOLD IT'S VTC VALVE BUT HAS NO FIX. CAR IS CPO WITH 32,000 MILES. STILL UNDER WARRANTY.
MILEAGE 20630. HAD JUST RETURNED HOME AND PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY. SUDDEN STRONG ODOR OF RAW GASOLINE AND VEHICLE QUIT RUNNING. I FOUND A LARGE POOL OF GAS JUST AHEAD OF THE LEFT REAR WHEEL. I MOVED THE LEFT REAR SEAT TO EXPOSE THE FUEL PUMP HOUSING AND FOUND A POOL OF GAS AROUND THE TOP OF THE GAS TANK AT THE FUEL PUMP. I FOUND A HOLE HAD WORN THROUGH THE HARD PLASTIC FUEL LINE ABOUT 6 INCHES FROM THE PUMP CAUSED BY RUBBING ON THE UNDERSIDE OF THE REAR SEAT METAL FRAME. I REPAIRED THE HOLED AREA OF THE FUEL LINE WITH THE PROPER HARD PLASTIC FUEL LINE REPAIR KIT.
WITHIN THE LAST 5 TO 6 MONTHS, MY VEHICLE KEEPS CUTTING OFF. I WOULD NEED TO GET SOMEONE TO JUMP ME. THE BATTERY WAS CHECKED AND THE STARTER AND ALTERNATOR. A NEW STATER WAS PUT IN ON LAST FRIDAY AND SUNDAY IT DID THE EXACT SAME THING. I NEEDED A JUMP BUT IT WOULD ONLY JUMP AFTER SITTING FOR AN HOUR OR SO. MY VEHICLE IS NOW IN THE SHOP AGAIN DUE TO THE SAME ISSUES. I'M A WIDOW AND I DONT KNOW MUCH ABOUT CARS BUT I KNOW THIS PROBLEM SHOULDN'T BE HAPPENING SO FREQUENTLY.
THIS PRESENT DAY MY CAR MAKES A SREAMING NOISE LIKE BELT IS BAD THEY CHANGED THE BELT THE ALTERNATOR AND SOMETHING ELSE AND THEY CAN NOT FIND THE PROBLEM. I ASKED FOR A 2017 WHEN I CAME IN TO BUY A VEHICLE THE DEALER INSISTED ON ME GETTING THIS 2014 WHEN I ASKED MULTIPUL TIMES FOR A 2017 HE SAID THIS IS A GOOD DEAL. THE FIRST DAY I GOT IT 6/16/2017 THE VIBARTION WAS BAD I HAD TO BRING IT BACK 6/17/2107 THEY HAD IT 4 DAYS. I PICKED IT UP AND ON THE SAME DAY THE LIGHTS WERE DIMMING. SAT MOORNING I REPORTED THE ISSUE. 3PM I GOT IN THE VEHICLE TO CHANGE MY SHIFT AT WORK IT WOULD NOT START. THE MAN WHO CAME TO TOW IT COULD NOT START IT ON ARIVIAL. MON 6/22/2017 I CAME IN AND DEMANDED A NEW CAR LIKE I REQUESTED WHEN I CAME IN BECAUSE THIS VEHICLE WAS HAVING TO MANY PROBLEMS FOR ME TO BE PAYING $25,643. THE DEALER WANTED TO GIVE ME 1,000 LESS THAN I PAID FOR IT AND CHARGE ME $32,300 FOR A HONDA CRV LX 4WD THATS MARKED 27,285 ONLINE. I REFUSED TO PAY THAT AND FELT LIKE I AM BEING CHEATED. HE SAID THE PROBLEM COULD BE MINOR LET THEM FIX IT. I AM PAYING $25,643 FOR THIS CAR AND ITS BEEN IN THE SHOP 3XS WITHIN 2 MONTHS. THEY WANT ME TO KEEP THIS CAR AND I KEEP REQUESTING A 2017 BECAUSE THATS WHAT I CAME IN FOR AND THE DEALER SAT BACK IN HIS CHAIR AND KEAP TELLING ME THE 2014 HONDA EXL IS A GOOD DEAL AND DID NOT SHOW ME THE 2017 HE WANTED ME TO GET THE 2014 HONDA CRV EXL WHEN I WANTED A 2017 LX SPECIAL ADITION 4WD. I ADMIT IT IS A NICE VEHICLE BUT IT HAS TOO MANY PROBLEMS AND I WANT MY MONEY BACK AND GET THE 2017 LX CRV I REQUESTED AND I WANT A DIFFERENT DEAL THATS NOT GOING TO CHEAT ME OUT OF MY MONEY. SOUTH HILLS WAS HONEST THEY WAS GIVING ME 2017 FOR 400 AMONTH AT $27,285 WHEN MY CREDIT CAME UP AND AT THE TIME IT DID IT WAS FAIR
CAR HAD BRIEF NOISE AT COLD START UP X5 THIS LED TO DASHBOARD LIGHTS INVESTIGATING THE INFORMATION THROUGH OTHER COMPLAINTS. TOOK INTO HONDA THE VTC ACTUATOR AND TIMING CHAIN HAD FAILED THIS WAS REPAIRED AT HONDA - NO RECALL NOTICE TO ME - FOUND SEVERAL PUBLIC NOTICES AND BULLETINS TO SUPPORT THE ISSUE
ON THE MORNING OF JULY 25TH, 2017, I OBSERVED A PROBLEM WITH THE REAR WINDOW IN MY 2014 HONDA CRV . UNLOCKING AND OPENING THE DRIVER'S DOOR TO PUT SOMETHING IN AND THEN CLOSING THE DOOR, I HEARD A LOUD CRUNCHING NOISE COMING FROM THE REAR OF THE CAR. THE DRIVER'S DOOR WAS OPENED AGAIN AND I GOT INTO THE CAR AND SHUT THE DOOR. AGAIN THE SAME CRUNCHING NOISE WAS HEARD. LOOKING IN THE REAR-VIEW MIRROR, I OBSERVED THE REAR WINDOW HAD SHATTERED INTO A "MILLION" PIECES. THE NOISE THAT WAS HEARD WAS THE PIECES OF GLASS DROPPING OUT OF THE WINDOW. IN ADDITION TO THE GLASS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE WINDOW THAT WAS DROPPING OUT, I OBSERVED THE EDGES AROUND THE GLASS WERE ALSO MISSING (HAD FALLEN OUT). I AM THE ONLY DRIVER OF THE CAR AND DO NOT REMEMBER ANYTHING HITTING THE WINDOW FROM THE OUTSIDE OR INSIDE. ALL THE DOORS HAD BEEN LOCKED SO IT DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE ATTEMPTED BURGLARY. IT IS PRESUMED THAT THE GLASS SHATTERED AND IMPLODED DUE TO DEFECTIVE GLASS MANUFACTURING AND/OR INSTALLATION. THE TEMPERATURES IN OUR AREA CAN REACH 100 DURING THE DAY AND DOWN TO 65 DURING THE NIGHT.
I HAVE OWNED 2014 CR-V FOR 3 & HALF YEARS SINCE IT WAS NEW. THE INDIRECT TPMS WARNING SYSTEM HAS NEVER BEEN CORRECT, IT ALWAYS GIVES FALSE READINGS. WHEN I PICKED UP A NAIL IN ONE TIRE, THE WARNING LIGHT NEVER CAME ON EVEN THOUGH THE TIRE PRESSURE DROPPED BY OVER 50%. WHEN THE WARNING LIGHT DOES COME ON, I CHECK ALL TIRES AND THEY ARE ALL FINE - EVERY TIME. AFTER MULTIPLE FRUSTRATING TRIPS TO DEALER, THE BEST THEY COULD DO WAS A SOFTWARE UPDATE. NOW INSTEAD OF FALSE WARNINGS 3 -4 TIMES A MONTH, NOW I GET FALSE WARNINGS 3 - 4 TIMES A YEAR. BUT THE WARNINGS ARE ALWAYS FALSE! LIKE THE LITTLE BOY THAT KEEPS CRYING WOLF, THIS SYSTEM IS COUNTER PRODUCTIVE IN THAT OWNERS WILL BEGIN TO IGNORE THE WARNING SYSTEM ALTOGETHER.
ENGINE RATTLE NOISE UPON COLD START.
THE DIM LIGHTS ARE NOT EVEN USABLE. I DRIVE WITH THE BRIGHT LIGHTS ON. THE BRIGHTS ARE AS BRIGHT AS THE DIM LIGHTS ON EVERY OTHER CAR I HAVE OWNED. HONDA HAS NO FIX. I HAVE BEEN TRYING SINCE 2014 TO HAVE BETTER LIGHTS INSTALLED. THEY CAN'T EVEN DO THIS AT MY EXPENSE. THIS CAR IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE IN THE DARK.
I WAS PARKING IN A PARKING SPACE BEHIND A PARKED CAR IN FRONT OF MY CAR. I APPLIED THE BRAKES, AND MY CAR LUNGED FORWARD WITH A TREMENDOUS ACCELERATION AND HIT THE PARKED CAR IN FRONT OF ME. AT LEAST, ALMOST $5,000 IN DAMAGE WAS DONE.
RIDE IS ALARMINGLY ROUGH & UNUSUALLY LOUD. SOME BUMPS MADE THE CAR JUMP & VEER FRACTIONALLY. ALL SURFACES OTHER THAN PERFECTLY SMOOTH CAUSE OVERTLY ROUGH RIDE & LOUD ROAD NOISE.
There is a rattling noise coming from the engine area at extreme cold startups since I had the car at 24,000 miles on it. When having the car parked with the emergency brake on at an incline and after leaving it ther for a few days, after I press the release on the brake after starting the car, the emergency brake sticks and the car won't move forward when accelerating or backward when releasing the brakes or accelerating. I have to repeatedly press and release the emergency brake to allow the car to release the brake from the wheel for the car to move forward. There is repeatedly a build up of rust on the rear wheels when the car is exposed to humid and wet conditions due to some flaw in the design, and it causes the car the have a loud thumping noise when applying the breaks . I have had to get the rear brakes refinished or shaved down to smooth them out repeatedly.
THE CAR VIBRATES HEAVILY WHEN ACCELERATING SLOWLY BETWEEN 20-30MPH.
AT THE SPEED OF 25 - 30 MILES PER HOUR, THE ENTIRE VEHICLE BEGINS TO SHAKE AND SHIMMY. I AM THE SECOND OWNER OF THE VEHICLE. THE SHAKING WAS SO BAD LAST WEEK I WAS REALLY SCARED! I LOOKED UP THE DESCRIPTION ON GOOGLE AND WOW!Z THERE ARE SOOOOO MANY OTHER PEOPLE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS! THEY SAID IT WAS A PROGRAM ISSUE FOR THE TRANSMISSION IN THIS VEHICLE! HOWEVER, WHEN PEOPLE TAKE THE VEHICLE IN FOR THE PROGRAM UPGRADE; AND GET THE TRANSMISSION FLUID DRAINED AND REPLACED, THE PROBLEM QUICKLY RETURNS!!!!!!!! SO.....HOW DO I GET THIS VEHICLE FIXED! I AM FRIGHTENED TO DRIVE IT!!!!!! I BOUGHT THE CAR THROUGH HENDRICK TOYOTA ON RIVERS AVE IN NORTH CHARLESTON, SC. THEY TOOK THE HONDA CRV VEHICLE IN AS A TRADE FOR A TOYOTA. SO, WHAT DO I DO WITH THIS DUD!!! IT IS A BAD SEED AS FOR A CAR. WHO IS GOING TO MAKE GOOD ON THE BAD PART CALLED A TRANSMISSION? IT HAS BEEN DOING THIS FOR SEVERAL MONTHS BEGINNING SOON AFTER I MADE THE PURCHASE!
TIRE FAILURE - CONTINENTAL CROSS CONTACT LX 225/65/R17 WHILE TRAVELING AT APPROXIMATELY 40MPH WITH MEAN TEMPERATURE OF 74 DEGREES AND MAX OF 84 THE TIRE BLEW OUT WITH NO APPARENT REASON TO DO SO. VERY CLEARLY THERE WERE DISTINCT FLAPS ON THE BACK SIDE OF THE TIRE THAT GAVE IN ADDITION TO THE FRONT SIDE. APPEARED AS IT THE WALL WEAKENED.
The tailgate door doesn’t open normally sometime I have to push the button more than 10 times then it open but most of the time it doesn’t open.I use this car as a spare or for emergency only so I just wait for Honda to recall, hopefully I don’t want to spend a lot of money to fix because the warranty has expired (41 months but only 25000 miles)but now I use this car every day
AIRBAG NOT BLEW OUT DURING ACCENT SEAT BELT BROKE
"RUN AWAY ENGINE" THERE HAVE BEEN 5-6 OCCURRENCES WITHIN THE LAST 2 YEARS THAT ARE UNEXPLAINABLE. INFREQUENTLY WHILE TRYING TO STOP EITHER IN TRAFFIC OR FOR PEDESTRIANS THE ENGINE SUDDENLY REVS TO APPROX. 2200 RPM WHILE I'M ON THE BRAKE. ON 3/5/17 I WAS WITH A EXFORD ENGINEER WHO WITNESSED IT HAPPEN IN TRAFFIC. WHEN I PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK TO TRY AND STOP THE CRV, THE ENGINE REVVED WAY UP BEFORE IT SNAPPED AND WENT BACK INTO A NORMAL DRIVE SITUATION AND WENT DOWN TO NORMAL RPM. IT NOW HAS BEEN REPORTED TO HONDA 3X AND BACK TO A DEALER TWICE. I WILL NOW CALL HONDA AGAIN BUT THIS IS GETTING MORE DANGEROUS EACH TIME. IT HAS HAPPENED IN CA AND AZ BUT WHILE REOCCURRING, IT'S NOT A REGULAR ITEM. IT APPEARS IN THE SOFTWARE OR ENGINE COMPUTER TO HIM.

I CURRENTLY OWN A 2014 HONDA CRV AND THERE IS A SPECIFIC PART THAT WAS REPLACED 3 TIMES CALLED A VTC ACTUATOR AND ITS A FAULTY DESIGN ALL THE 2012 TO 2014 HONDA CRVS HAVE THE SAME ISSUE AND I'M AFRAID IT WILL EVENTUALLY RUIN MY ENGINE, EVERYTIME ON START THERE IS GRINDING SOUND AND WHEN I FIRST GOT THE VEHICLE IN 2015 IN WOULD ONLY DO THE IN THE WINTER THEN IN WARMER WEATHER IT WOULDN'T NOW ITS CONSTANT ON EVERY STARTUP.
There is a known issue with 2014 Honda CRV torque converters. My car has always had a funky shift which Honda told me it was just the new CVT transmission. Then back in August my mother drive my car and said that was not correct. I took it to Honda and they said it was the torque converter. It is causing my vehicle to become undrivable with out feeling safe. It judders, shakes and doesn't shift properly. I contacted Honda and they acknowledge that it is a known issue with their CVT transmission. They currently have 1200 orders for torque converters on back order that shows you how much of an issue that this is.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO WETNESS AND HIGH HUMIDITY. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE ROTORS NEEDED TO BE GROUNDED. THE FAILURE WAS REMEDIED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 24,500.
DRIVING ABOUT 10 MPH, I TURNED THE STEERING WHEEL QUICKLY TO ENTER A PARKING PLACE WHEN THE POWER STEERING TURNED OFF. I WAS ABLE TO PARK AND TURNED OFF THE ENGINE. WHEN I RESTARTED THE CAR, THE POWER STEERING CAME BACK ON. I TRIED TO DUPLICATE THIS EVENT BUT IT DID NOT OCCUR AGAIN. I REPORTED THIS TO MY DEALER BUT THEY SAID THEY DID NOT HAVE ANY INFORMATION ON THIS.

The contact stated while depressing the button on the rear hatch handle in cold weather, the lift gate failed to open. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to the dealer who was unable to diagnose the failure as they were attempting to diagnose the failure in a warm shop. The contact stated that the rear lift gate electrical mechanism in the handle was replaced; however, the failure recurred in cold weather. The vehicle was then taken to an independent mechanic who replaced the lift gate electrical mechanism a second time. The contact stated that the failure persisted in cold weather. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was unknown.
OUR 2014 HONDA CRV HAS BEEN MAKING A CLATTERING NOISE AT START UP FOR THE PAST SEVERAL MONTHS. APPARENTLY THERE IS A WELL KNOW DEFECT WITH THE VTC ACCURATOR AND YET HONDA HASN'T ALERTED CONSUMERS TO THIS DEFECT OR ISSUED A RECALL. I AM WRITING YOU TO ALERT YOU OR TO ADD TO OTHER COMPLAINTS YOU HAVE RECEIVED REGARDING THIS ISSUE. IF THEY DON'T NOTIFY CONSUMERS, THEN THE WARRANTY PERIOD CAN GO BY AND THEN THE CONSUMER IS LEFT WITH THE BILL. THANK YOU.
BATTERY PROVIDED VERY SLOW STARTS AND OTHER ELECTRICAL/ELECTRONIC ANOMALIES ON A NUMBER OF OCCASIONS WITHIN A MONTH OR SO PRIOR TO TESTING AND REPLACEMENT ON 01/24/17. VEHICLE (AND THE OEM BATTERY) HAD 22,119 MILES AT TIME OF FAILURE, AND HAD BEEN IN SERVICE FOR APPR. 17 MONTHS. NO EVIDENCE OF ABUSE. HONDA REIMBURSED FOR DIAGNOSIS & REPLACEMENT AT INDEPENDENT SHOP.
ENGINE CAUGHT FIRE IN MY 2014 HONDA CR-V WHILE I WAS DRIVING TO WORK THE MORNING OF JANUARY 19, 2017. I PURCHASED THE CR-V NEW IN EARLY 2015. AT THE TIME OF THE ENGINE FIRE THERE WAS 49,585 MILES ON THE VEHICLE. THE ONLY WORK EVER COMPLETED ON THE CR-V WERE TIMELY OIL AND FILTER CHANGES, AND TIRE ROTATIONS. THERE WAS NOT ANY SUGGESTED OR REQUIRED WORK THAT WAS NOT COMPLETED. THERE WAS NOTHING UNUSUAL WITH THE CAR, NO NOISES, NO ODORS, AND I WAS THE LAST PERSON TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE PRIOR TO THIS DAY. FORENSICS REPORT CONCLUDED THAT THE FIRE ORIGINATED IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT IN AND AROUND THE FUEL SYSTEM. AT 8:50AM ON THURSDAY MORNING JANUARY 19, 2017 I LEFT MY HOME IN NJ TO TRAVEL TO WORK 14 MILES AWAY. IN LEAVING HOME THE CR-V STARTED NORMAL. I WAS ABOUT 10 MINUTES INTO THE TYPICAL 45 MINUTE DRIVE. I WAS DRIVING ON A TWO LANE HIGHWAY. I WAS SLOWING DOWN TO ABOUT 10 MPH TO MERGE INTO ONE LANE. I NOTICED LIGHT WHITE SMOKE COMING IN FROM THE PASSENGER SIDE VENT. I THEN NOTICED MORE GRAYISH SMOKE COMING FROM THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE ENGINE HOOD. I PULLED OVER OFF THE HIGHWAY ONTO THE SHOULDER. THERE WAS NOTHING UNUSUAL ON THE PANEL OF THE CAR, NO LIGHTS, NO GAUGES, THE TEMP WAS NORMAL. I CALLED 911 AT ABOUT 9:01AM. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT HAD THE FIRE OUT IN ABOUT 12 MINUTES. THE CR-V OF COURSE WAS A COMPLETE LOSS.

TPMS LIGHT COMES ON EVERY TIME I DRIVE OVER 60 MPH FOR MORE THAN A FEW MILES. THE BUMPIER THE ROAD, THE SOONER THE LIGHT COMES ON. ALL AIR PRESSURES ARE CORRECT PER MANUFACTURER RECOMMENDATIONS.
