ONGOING INTERMITTENT ISSUES SINCE CAR WAS PURCHASED MAY 2017. REPEATED BATTERY DRAINS AND COMPLETE FAILURE, BATTERY REPLACED BY HONDA JULY 2020. DROVE, PARKED, WOULD NOT START OR RUN ACCESSORIES NOV. 30 2020 AND ON JAN. 1 2021 WHEN TOW SERVICE STATED BATTERY AT 9.4 VOLTS 74 AMPS. IT HAD BEEN DRIVEN WEEKLY. INTERMITTENT ERROR MESSAGES AND RANDOM FLASHING/SCRAMBLED DASHBOARD MESSAGE LIGHTS. INTERMITTENT FAILURE TO LOCK/UNLOCK OR REMAIN LOCKED. BATTERY IN KEY FOB REPLACED AND KEY FOB REPLACED. WE ARE VERY CONSCIOUS OF LOCKING CAR. ONCE I HEARD IT UNLOCK AND SAW LIGHTS FLASH WHILE I WAS IN FRONT YARD WITHOUT HAVING THE KEY FOB ON MY PERSON. AS ADDITIONAL PRECAUTION SET-UP THE "AUTOMATIC LOCK" FUNCTION BUT WE DO NOT DEPEND UPON THIS. THE POSSIBILITY OF AN ALARM FAILURE WITH 2 ATTEMPTS AT TAKING THINGS IN/ON THE CAR AND NO ALARM (ONE TIME CAR FOUND UNLOCKED WITH GLOVE BOX DUMPED, ETC.).
All dashboard lights go and stay on on random occurrences, sometimes going off on their own but mostly when I reboot the system. This occurs when the car has idled for more than a few minutes. Happening since 2021 and 30k miles. Defect fuel injection part that has since been changed by Honda but with no recall. Replaced battery and issue continued to occur. Recall needed!
All dashboard lights come on when car is idling. Changed battery and tested alternator and issue stills persist. Temporary resolution is rebooting the system while car is in accessory mode. I've read many articles with similar issues where after paying thousands of dollars to the dealership to resolve the issue with no success.
AFTER A 30 MINUTE DRIVE ON THE HIGHWAY I STOPPED FOR AROUND 15 MINUTES AND WHEN I STARTED THE ENGINE THE DASH BOARD WOULD NOT LIGHT UP ALL LIGHTS WERE OFF, ALTHOUGH THE ENGINE WAS RUNNING. THE INDICATORS WERE NOT WORKING AND THE SCREEN INSIDE THE CAR ALSO STOPPED WORKING. I ALSO NOTICED THAT THE TRUNK COULD NOT OPEN. THIS FIRST HAPPENED WHEN THE CAT WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY (AROUND 6000 MILES ON IT), THE DEALER SAID THEY COULD NOT FIND A PROBLEM, BUT THEY HAD TO DO A "HARD RESET" TO GET THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS BACK ON. TWO YEARS AFTER THE SAME THING HAPPENED ( CAR NOW HAS AROUND 12000 MILES), BUT THE LIGHTS WENT BACK ON WHEN I RESTARTED THE CAR. ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS WHILE GETTING INTO THE CAR, ALL THE WINDOWS WENT DOWN HALF WAY ON THEIR OWN AFTER I OPENED THE DOOR WITH THE REMOTE.
THIS VEHICLE DOES NOT GET WARM IN THE WINTER. I LIVE IN MICHIGAN AND HEAT IS IMPORTANT. I UNDERSTAND IT IS AN ONGOING PROBLEM AND I WANT TO KNOW WHAT HONDA IS DOING ABOUT IT.
HONDA CR-V BUTTON USED TO ENGAGE THE GEAR SHIFTER CRUMBLED APART WHEN TRYING TO SHIFT THE CAR INTO PARK OUT OF DRIVE POSITION. THE CAR WAS STUCK IN THE DRIVE POSITION UNTIL BROUGHT INTO THE HONDA DEALERSHIP TO HAVE THE SHIFTER BUTTON REPLACED, CREATING A POTENTIAL SAFETY ISSUE WHERE THE CAR IS STUCK IN A SPECIFIC GEAR POSITION. THE BUTTON BREAK WAS NOT CAUSED BY ANY KNOWN DIRECT MECHANICAL SHOCK AND MAY HAVE BEEN DUE TO THERMAL SHOCK OR TEMPERATURE/HUMIDITY CYCLING.
WHEN COMING TO A STOP OR EVEN STOPPED WHEN BREAKING THE CAR ENGINE WILL REV ALMOST AS IF I TAKE MY FOOT OFF BREAK IT WOULD ACCEL. IT'S HAS DONE IT SEVERAL TIMES OVER THE PAST COUPLE MONTHS
MY CAR WAS SITTING ON DRIVEWAY AND WHEN I START MY CAR ALL OF THE SUDDEN IT START GIVING ME BREAK SYSTEM ERROR PROBLEM. SO MY CAR AUTOMATICALLY APPLIED ELECTRONIC PARKING BRAKE AND NOW IT'S NOT RELEASING AT ALL . ALSO DELAR TOLD ME IT HAPPENED BECAUSE OF BRAKE ACTUATOR MALFUNCTION. ALSO, WHEN I AM DRIVING SOME TIME IT APPLIED EMERGENCY BRAKE ITSELF IF THERE IS NOTHING IN FRONT OF CAR. AND THERE ARE MANY OTHER HONDA CR-V 2017 MODE THAT HAVE SAME PROBLEM OR SIMILAR PROBLEM. AND VEHICLE IS NOW OUT OF WARRANTY SO DEALERSHIP WANT TO CHARGE FOR PARTS AND LABOR.
Vehicle unexpectedly begins to start flashing all warning systems while simultaneously losing excessive power. Unexpected ADAS system malfunction may cause the vehicle to break unexpectedly creating unsafe conditions or driving hazards for driver, passengers and others on the road. There is a significant loss of power, again, creating dangerous conditions while driving through busy traffic at high speeds or driving uphill. - Hill Start Assist Problem - Adaptive Cruise Control - Collision Mitigation System - Road Departure Mitigation System - Electric Parking Brake - Tire Pressure Monitor - Emissions system - All Wheel Drive - Brake System Problem - Brake Hold - Power Steering System - Vehicle Stability Assist Attempts to resolve issue Attempt # 1: Honda did a software update, resolved the issue for about four-five months (December 2020).... Mileage 49,504 # 2: Replaced Battery and Spark Plugs (April 2021) # 3: Appointment Scheduled for May 12th, 2021.... Mileage 54,330 #4: Disconnected battery mileage 96,000+ #5: New Spark plugs and new battery mileage 97,000+ The first time this occurred I was driving with my wife and two children. We were traveling down hill, a narrow road which is steep and has any sharp turns. As the system failures began to light up the car became extremely unsafe. There was very little control of the brake system as well as the steering system. Fortunately we avoided a potentially deadly scenario. Once we came to to level terrain where we could eventually slow down enough to stop the car, it was shuttering the whole way until we found a safe spot to pull over nearby. The car was then towed and serviced by Honda of Ithaca (Ithaca, NY). That same dealer said the resolved the issue with confidence, that it just needed a software upgrade. The concern here is that there seems to be no resolution for this issue and no warning as to when this could and seems to be will happen again.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN A CITY STREET SOON AFTER A STOP SIGN SO MAYBE GOING LESS THAN 10-15 MPH. ALL OF A SUDDEN WITH NOTHING IN FRONT OF THE CAR THE AUTOMATIC BRAKING SYSTEM SLAMMED THE CAR TO A COMPLETE STOP. LUCKILY THERE WAS NO ONE BEHIND ME OR THERE MAY HAVE BEEN AN ACCIDENT.
All of the ADAS Warnings go off on the dash-every one. It turns on and off randomly and lasts from hours to weeks and I’m not sure what the cause is. The dealership has told a few things but the main one was over the phone saying it could be due to obstruction of the sensors-snow/ice or something of that nature but it happens even when it’s clear all the time. Recently, when the sensor system has been “working” on the highway, the brake system activated itself slowing my car down and a warning came up on my dash that said to Brake but there was nothing on the sides or in front of my car, only behind me! And it happened without warning. It’s been persistent despite weather conditions. This has happened numerous times, I’d say at least 100.
BATTERY WILL BE DEAD IF CAR NOT USED EVERY 2 DAYS. 4 TIMES I HAVE HAD THE DEALER REPLACE MY BATTERY AND 1 TIME MYSELF. DEALER REFUSES TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM. A VEHICLE''S BATTERY SHOULD NOT GO DEAD AFTER ONLY 4 DAYS OF USE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 HONDA CR-V. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE REVERSING INTO THE GARAGE AND ATTEMPTING TO STOP THE VEHICLE, THE BUTTON ON THE GEAR SHIFT BUTTON DETACHED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER SOME RESEARCH, SHE LEARNED THAT THE DETACHING OF THE GEAR SHIFTER BUTTON WAS A COMMON FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER TO BE DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 33,000.
ALL DASH WARNING LIGHTS COME ON
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 HONDA CR-V. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS IN THE RAIN, SEVERAL UNKNOWN WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. CLASSIC FORD OF SMITHFIELD (1324 N BRIGHTLEAF BLVD, SMITHFIELD, NC 27577) WAS CONTACTED AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT UNDER RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO BE DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE CONTACT NOTED THAT EACH FAILURE OCCURRED WHILE IT WAS RAINING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT RODENTS WERE ABLE TO ENTER THE CABIN AIR FILTER AREA, AND WHEN THE CONTACT TURNED THE HEATER ON, THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO SMELL A STRONG ODOR. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO REMOVE THE CABIN AIR FILTER LOCATED AT THE VEHICLE GLOVE COMPARTMENT AND FOUND THE DEAD RODENT NEST. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER TO HAVE A DIAGNOSTIC PERFORMED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,000.
MY VEHICLE IS A 2017 HONDA CR-V TOURING WITH AN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. TODAY WHILE BACKING OUT OF A PARKING PLACE IN A STORE PARKING LOT, I PUSHED IN ON THE GEAR SHIFT BUTTON AND MOVED THE SHIFT LEVER INTO REVERSE. WHEN I REMOVED MY THUMB FROM THE GEAR SHIFT BUTTON, THE BUTTON HAD CLEARLY BROKEN ON THE INSIDE OF THE GEAR SHIFT LEVER, AS WHEN I REMOVED MY THUMB, THE GEAR SHIFT BUTTON BUTTON EJECTED FROM THE GEAR SHIFT LEVER (IT IS SPRING LOADED). THIS LEFT ME BLOCKING TRAFFIC AFTER HAVING BACKED OUT. I WAS ABLE TO SHIFT THE CAR INTO DRIVE, BY SIMPLY PULLING DOWN ON THE GEAR SHIFTER. HOWEVER ONCE THE CAR WAS IN DRIVE, IT COULD NO LONGER BE SHIFTED INTO PARK OR REVERSE WITHOUT THE GEAR SHIFT BUTTON (WHICH WAS NOW ON THE FLOOR AT MY FEET ON THE DRIVERS SIDE) THANKFULLY I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER, PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL AND ENGAGE THE PARKING BRAKE SO I COULD FIND THE GEAR SHIFT BUTTON ON THE FLOOR. THIS ALLOWED ME TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE (KEEPING ONE HAND ON THE SHIFTER TO AVOID THE BUTTON EJECTING AGAIN) HOWEVER A LESS EXPERIENCED DRIVER MAY BECOME FLUSTERED, AND LOOSE ATTENTION CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. I WAS FORTUNATE THE OTHER DRIVERS AROUND ME WERE PATIENT AND NOT APPROACHING QUICKLY. ALL DRIVERS WILL BE EXPECTING THIS BUTTON TO FUNCTION PROPERLY, AND IT IS DISCONCERTING THAT A VEHICLE THAT IS ONLY THREE YEARS AND THREE MONTHS OLD WOULD HAVE SUCH A FAILURE. AFTER RESEARCHING THE PART ON LINE, I HAVE FOUND NUMEROUS OTHER FOLKS REPORTING THIS PART FAILING, AND ALMOST ALL FROM THE 2017 MODEL YEAR. BEING UNABLE TO SHIFT A VEHICLE IS A MAJOR FLAW, AND THIS PART SHOULD BE ADDRESSED.
HONDA 2017 CRV, BATTERY IS DEAD IF I DON'T DRIVE IT FOR 2 DAYS. THIS HAS HAPPENED THREE TIMES IN THE PAST YEAR, THE LAST TWO TIMES JUST A FEW WEEKS APART. AND THIS PAST TIME I DROVE IT ON A THURSDAY AND IT WAS DEAD ON SATURDAY. FORTUNATELY THE TIMES THIS HAS HAPPENED THE CAR WAS IN THE GARAGE, SO I WAS NOT STRANDED. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY RAN DIAGNOSTICS AND SAID NOTHING WAS WRONG. THEY JUST SAID I NEED TO DRIVE IT EVERY COUPLE OF DAYS. AFTER DOING RESEARCH ONLINE I SEE MANY OTHER OWNERS HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM, AND HAVE BEEN TOLD THERE MIGHT BE A SOFTWARE FIX AT SOME POINT.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY ABOUT 50MPH THE GEAR BUTTON FOR SHIFTER CAME OFF. LUCKILY IT LANDED IN THE CUP HOLDER OTHERWISE, I WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO PUT INTO PARK ONCE STOPPED AS IT WOULD HAVE BEEN STILL BE IN DRIVE. I WAS ABLE TO TEMPORARILY PUT IT BACK IN PLACE SO THAT I COULD PUT INTO PARK. VERY SCARY AND DANGEROUS WHILE DRIVING HOME ON THE HIGHWAY.
I get bunch of error messages on my dashboard display stating there are multiple system failure, like Break System Problem, Forward Collision system Problem, Lane Keeping Assistance Problem, Adaptive Cruise Control system Problem, Electric Parking Break Problem, Tire pressure Monitor Problem, Emission System Problem etc. Because of this if I have adaptive cruise control activated, suddenly I start getting these errors and cruise control stops working, my break hold system failed, I was standing of traffic signal with break hold applied and suddenly I started getting these errors, I had to push break manually to keep it stop, otherwise it would have started moving because break hold system was failed. I have researched on it and a lot of more Honda CRV 2017 customers getting these errors and there is no solution provided by Honda. This issue can be dangerous when we rely on these security feature while driving on highway and suddenly this system failure message appears, all security system stops working.
I smell Gas on the engine and outside the Car. I took out the dipstick. It smell Gas too. There's Website www.crvownersclub.com gave this Website to report problems. I hope NHTSA will investigate this issue. Should this issue be recall for safety issue? Regards Jim
WHENEVER THERE IS RAIN OR DEW MOST OF THE CAR'A SENSORS WILL MALFUNCTION. THE BRAKE SENSOR ARE ALL BAD, POWER STEERING, LOW OIL AND LOW TIRE PRESSURE. IT WILL HAPPEN SOMETIMES WHILE DRIVING AND WHEN IN PARK TOO.
ON THE 4TH (AROUND 20K MILES) OIL CHANGE FROM DEALERSHIP I COMPLAINED ABOUT DRIVER SIDE SEAT CUSHION AND BRAKE PEDAL MAKING SQUEAKY NOISE. I WAS TOLD IT'S NORMAL IN NEW CAR DURING THE BREAKIN PROCESS AND EVENTUALLY IT'LL GO AWAY. NOW IT'S EVEN WORSE AT ABOVE 50K MILES AND THEY'RE ASKING FOR DIAGNOSTIC CHARGES. CAR ALSO HAS FUEL AND OIL MIXING ISSUE WHICH I BROUGHT IT UP ON MY RECENT VISIT TO HONDA DEALERSHIP AND I WAS TOLD THEY'LL NEED TO DRAIN THE OIL AND REFILL WITH NEW OIL AND FILTER TO DETERMINE THE ISSUE. WHILE THEY WERE TAKING OUT THEY SAID THERE WAS NO PRESENCE OF FUEL BUT THE SMELL OF FUEL IN ENGINE OIL IS NORMAL FOR THIS VEHICLE. THERE'S BEEN TIME WHERE VEHICLE WILL BE STUCK IN HIGH RPM WHEN ON HIGHWAY AND ACCELERATOR IS RELEASED DURING HIGH SPEED. AND EVENTUALLY IT'LL SHIFT THE GEAR AFTER 5-10 SECONDS AND BRING DOWN THE RPM. SMELL IS ALSO NOTICED DURING FIRST START IN MORNINGS SPECIALLY NOW SINCE IT'S WINTER.
CAR WAS SITTING IN PARKING LOT AND WAS NOT ABLE TO START AND THE CONTROL PANEL SHOWS BRAKE HOLD SYSTEM PROBLEM
THE CAR APPLIED THE BRAKES VIGOROUSLY WHILE DRIVING 55-MILES PER HOUR ON A RURAL STRAIGHT 2-LANE HIGHWAY WITH NO OTHER CARS IN SIGHT. THE ONLY UNSAFE CONDITION WAS THE UNANTICIPATED BRAKING OF OUR VEHICLE. I SUSPECT THE CULPRIT TO BE THE AUTOMATIC BRAKING SYSTEM OF THE CAR. THERE WAS NO ONE ELSE INVOLVED. I CONTINUED DRIVING AFTER THIS HAPPENED.
MY MIRROR TURN SIGNAL AND LEFT FRONT TURN SIGNAL FLASHES RANDOMLY ON ITS OWN. SEVERAL TIMES IN A 24 HOUR PERIOD. THE LEFT BACK TURN SIGNAL DOES NOT. I SMELL SOME TYPE OF ELECTRICAL BURNING FUMES FROM THE LEFT SIDE OF THE CAR NEXT TO THE HOOD WHERE IT COMES TO WINDSHIELD. THIS IS VERY DISTRACTING AS IT IS HAPPENING RANDOMLY AND OFTEN. THIS HAPPENS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS PARKED , UNATTENDED, AND IN THE OFF POSITION. ALL TIMES OF THE DAY AND NIGHT. ALSO, WHILE DRIVING MY TOUCH SCREEN SYSTEM WILL RANDOMLY SWITCH THE BRIGHTNESS AND CHANGE FROM NAV TO PHONE TO RADIO ECT ALL BY ITSELF, IT IS DISTRACTING TO THE DRIVER. .
FUEL OR EXHAUST SMELL ON STARTUP
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 HONDA CR-V. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START-UP. THE START SYSTEM WAS ILLUMINATED AND THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER TO BE DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 41,000.
MY HONDA CR-V THREW UP WARNINGS ABOUT ROAD DEPARTURE MITIGATION PROBLEM, COLLISION MITIGATION PROBLEM, ELECTRIC BRAKE PROBLEM, TPMS ETC. AND MY VEHICLE AUTOMATICALLY SLOWED DOWN IN TRAFFIC. SINCE THEN IT HAS BEEN HAPPENING MORE FREQUENTLY AND NOW IT ALMOST ALWAYS THERE. VEHICLE HAS SLOWED DOWN IN TRAFFIC THRICE SINCE THE PROBLEM FIRST STARTED IN OCTOBER 2020.
I OWN THE CAR FOR 3 YEARS AND 10 MONTH AND DID NOT NOTICE ANY ISSUE WITH THE BREAKING SYSTEM UNTIL TODAY ON 10/15/2020. MY BROTHER WAS DRIVING THE CAR AND THE CAR ALL OF SUDDEN STOP COMPLETELY WHEN START SLOWLY PRESSING THE ON BRAKE PEDAL. HE WAS APPROACHING A BUMP WITH STEEL PLATE COVERING THE GAP ON A BRIDGE AND START TO SLOW DOWN TO 25MPH AND THE CAR SUDDEN BREAK HARD AND STOP COMPLETELY CAUSING HIM AND THE PASSENGER TO SHOVEL FORWARD. HE THEN HEARD TWO BEEPS. THERE WASN'T ANY CAR IN A CLOSE RANGE. AFTER ABOUT 5 SECONDS, HE CAN THEN ABLE TO STEP ON THE GAS PEDAL. SOUND LIKE SOME ISSUE WITH THE AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING TECHNOLOGY.
CODE P0172 APPEARED. HONDA REPLACE A/C CONTROL MODULE WITH NO CHARGE UNDER BULLETIN 19-032. HONDA STATED "IF THE CODE COMES BACK ON THEY WILL NEED TO REPLACE INJECTORS AS WELL." THE CODE CAME BACK IN A MONTH BUT NOW THEY SAY ITS OFF WARRANTY AND I WILL HAVE TO PAY $1507.08 FOR INJECTOR REPLACEMENT. THEY SHOULD HAVE REPLACED THE INJECTORS FROM THE START.
I COULD'VE NOT COAX MY CAR OVER 20 MPH IT WAS SCARY SINCE A SPEEDING CAR WAS BEHIND ME
I LISTED THIS UNDER POWER TRAIN SINCE I LOST POWER AND I DON'T KNOW WHAT OTHER CATEGORY WOULD APPLY. I HAVE NO DOCUMENTS EXCEPT THE DEALER'S REPORT THAT THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG EXCEPT A WEAK BATTERY.
The contact owns a 2017 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, several unknown warning lights were illuminated intermittently on the instrument panel. The contact stated that the failure became recurrent and that the warning lights remained illuminated. Additionally, the contact stated that several systems and features were no longer operable, including adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, road departure mitigation, electronic parking brake, brake warning, and brake hold systems. The dealer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and confirmed there were no recalls associated with the VIN. The approximate failure mileage was 140,000.
SHIFT LEVER LOCK RELEASE PUSH-BUTTON BROKE OFF. LEARNED THIS WAS SUBJECT OF A SERVICE BULLETIN (19-063) BUT IT'S A PRETTY SIGNIFICANT ISSUE AS THE DRIVER CANNOT MOVE THE SHIFT LEVER IN OR OUT OF PARK/REVERSE/DRIVE WITHOUT THE BUTTON. SHOULD THIS BUTTON HAVE BROKE OFF AND NOT BEEN IN HAND IT WOULD HAVE BEEN IMPOSSIBLE TO MOVE THE SHIFT LEVER INTO PARK WHILE THE ENGINE WAS RUNNING. ALL SYSTEM WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED IN DASHBOARD DISPLAY. FIRST FAILURE HAPPENED 12/16/19 WHILE PARKED WITH ENGINE RUNNING. SECOND FAILURE HAPPENED 9/10/20 WHILE DRIVING.
THE DRIVER SAFETY ASSISTANCE SYSTEM DISPLAYS A SERIES OF FAILURE NOTIFICATIONS ON THE DASHBOARD DISPLAY. INCLUDES BUT NOT LIMITED TO LANE DRIFT, REAR COLLISION ALERT, PARKING BRAKE, CRUISE CONTROL AND NUMEROUS OTHERS. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES WHILE IN MOTION OR WHEN PARKED. POHANKA HONDA HAS ATTEMPTED TO FIX THIS PROBLEM 3 TIMES IN THE LAST 6 MONTHS. ONCE 3 WEEKS AGO AND THE LAST EFFORT WAS 12 HOURS AGO. CAR IS STILL NOT FIXED. AN INTERNET SEARCH SHOWS THIS BEING A KNOWN PROBLEM THAT HONDA HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO FIX. I HAVE RECEIPTS FOR ALL REPAIRS BUT UNABLE TO UPLOAD.*DT*AS
WHILE DRIVING NORMALLY ON A ROAD ABOUT 30 MPH ALL OF THE VEHICLE'S WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON IN A SEQUENCE AND CONTINUED TO ROTATE THROUGH THE ENTIRE ARRAY OF WARNING LIGHTS CONTINUOUSLY. THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO DRIVE NORMALLY. AFTER STOPPING AND TURNING OFF THE CAR WE RESTARTED THE CAR AND THE WARNING LIGHTS CONTINUED TO FLASH AND BEEP IN SEQUENCE. THE HONDA DEALER SAID WE NEEDED TO REPLACE PARTS IN THE FUEL SYSTEM. AFTER INVESTIGATION THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM WITH HONDA VEHICLES. THIS IS A DANGEROUS SITUATION AS IT DISTRACTS THE DRIVER
1- FOR THE ENGINE, I CAN SMELL STRONG FUEL INSIDE THE CAR CABINET. THE SMELL SOMETIMES IS SO STRONG THAT I GET DIZZY AND I NEED TO OPEN THE WINDOW TILL THE CAR WARM UP. HAPPENS WHILE IN MOTION, AND STATIONARY 2- FOR THE SEAT BUILT, THE HOOK MAKES HUGE NOISE, AND SOMETIMES WHILE HARD BREAKING GETS LOSE AND LEFT ME UNBUCKLED. YOU CAN HEAR THE NOISE WHILE STATIONARY AND THE BELT GET'S LOSE WHILE BRAKING TO A FULL STOP.
THE SUNROOF SPONTANEOUSLY EXPLODED AS I WAS DRIVING ON A CITY STREET. THERE WAS A LOUD POP NOISE WHEN IT HAPPENED BUT NOTHING HIT THE CAR AND THE CAR WAS GOING STRAIGHT ON A ROAD THAT WAS IN GOOD CONDITION.
CARE HAS BEEN TO DEALER 4 TIMES FOR IDIOT MESSAGES RANDOMLY APPEARING ON THE DASH; PANIC ALARM GOING OFF FOR NO REASON; DEAD BATTERY FOR 3 MORNINGS IN A ROW AND NOW ON THE 4TH DAY IT WILL NOT ACCEPT A JUMP.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 HONDA CR-V. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, THE BRAKES MALFUNCTIONED INDEPENDENTLY, WHILE SEVERAL UNKNOWN WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENTAL PANEL. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO NORTHTOWN HONDA (2277 NIAGARA FALLS BLVD, AMHERST, NY 14228) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE VEHICLE STABILITY ASSIST MODULATOR NEED TO BE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED FOUR TIMES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 59,000.
TUGGING , PULLING SENSATION MAINLY WHEN TURNING LEFT AND SOMETIMES WHEN TURNING RIGHT MOTION IS NOT INITIATED BY THE DRIVER CAR WAS TAKEN TWICE TO HONDA DEALER AND KEPT FOR 3 TO 4 DAYS -AXLE REPLACED- DIDN'T HELP. TODAY IS MAY 18, 2021 AND I AM STILL HAVING STEERING PROBLEMS WITH THIS VEHICLE- STEERING WHEEL PULLS AND TUGS NOW AND THEN AT VARIOUS SPEEDS.
THIS VEHICLE HAS THE AUTOMATIC BRAKING SYSTEM. ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS THE BRAKE WARNING HAS FLASHED WHEN THERE IS NOTHING IN FRONT OF THE CAR. THIS HAS EVEN HAPPENED ON THE INTERSTATE AT HIGH SPEEDS. MORE RECENTLY LAST WEEK WHEN DRIVING ON A RESIDENTIAL STREET WITH NO OTHER CARS ON THAT ROAD AND NO PARKED CARS THE CAR AUTOMATICALLY HARD BRAKED WITH NO WARNING. THE WEATHER AT THE TIME THIS HAPPENED WAS A PARTLY CLOUDY DAY. AT THE TIME THE CAR HARD BRAKED I WAS ON A FLAT ROAD GOING ABOUT 25 MPH DRIVING STRAIGHT. HAD THERE BEEN A CAR BEHIND ME WHEN THE AUTONOMOUS BRAKE HARD BRAKED I FEAR I WOULD HAVE BEEN REAR ENDED.
BATTERY RUNS DOWN. PUT NEW BATTERY...SAME PROBLEM. NEED A JUMP TO START FOR ME TO DRIVE. BATTERY RUNS DOWN IF IT SITS FOR A DAY PROBLEM STEERING AFTER IT IS JUMPED. ALL ALERTS ARE ON THEN DISAPPEARS AFTER BATTERY RESETS COMPONENTS ON ITS OWN. ALERTS FOR STABILIZATION, BREAKING STABILIZATION AND MORE TURNS ON WHEN DRIVING. WENT OVER PROBLEMS WITH A FRIEND WHO IS A MECHANIC. TROUBLE SHOOTING EVERYTHING AND CONCLUDING SOMETHING IN ELECTRICAL THAT DOESN'T TURN OFF AND RUNS NEW BATTERY DOWN WHEN ENGINE IS OFF. OIL CAP SMELLS LIKE GAS FUEL. HONDA MECHANIC TOLD ME ON THE SPOT IT COULD BE THIS OR THAT EVEN WHEN I SAID THERE ARE PROBLEMS WITH THAT NOTED ON WEBSITES. CAR AT HONDA DEALERSHIP GETTING "FIXED"....TOLD ME IT IS THE ALTERNATOR, BUT CAR ENGINE DOESN'T STOP OR SHUTS OFF WHEN IT IS JUMPED AND DRIVEN. WE ALSO HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WHERE THE ALERT WARNING ALARM TURNING ON WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY INDICATING THERE IS AN OBJECT IN FRONT OR SIDE WHEN THERE IS NOTHING THERE. THOSE ISSUES BEGAN HAPPENING BEFORE I HAD THESE RECENT BATTERY PROBLEMS (6 MONTHS BEFORE ISSUES WITH THE BATTERY). I ALSO RECALL THAT IN THE FALL OF 2018 THAT THE OBJECT ALERT TURNED ON A COUPLE OF TIMES DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. MY DAUGHTER ALSO HAS EXPERIENCE THIS WHILE DRIVING BOTH HIGHWAY AND TOWN STREET. MECHANIC FROM HONDA IS NOT ADDRESSING THE SMELL OF GAS IN OIL CAP EVEN WITH INFORMATION I TOLD HIM ABOUT THIS PROBLEM NOTED WITH PREVIOUS CUSTOMERS. HASN'T LOOKED INTO IT SINCE MY CAR HAS BEEN THERE FOR A DAY AND HALF.

EMERGENCY CRASH AVOIDANCE SYSTEM DEPLOYED CAUSING THE CAR TO STOP. THIS FROM 35 + MPH. THIS WAS UNEXPECTED. AND WE WERE LUCKY NO OTHER CARS WERE AFFECTED. AUTOMATIC HEADLIGHT DIMMER IS NOT OPERATING CORRECTLY. THIS IS ANNOYANCE TO THE DRIVER OF MY CAR AS WELL AS BLINDING TO ONCOMING TRAFIC.
BATTERY DIED OVERNIGHT, TOOK VEHICLE TO DIFFERENT DEALERSHIPS, REPLACED BATTERY.. NOTHING HELP ! TECHNICIAN CANNOT FIGURE OUT WHY.. THIS IS MY SECOND VEHICLE BOUGHT FROM HONDA , THIS TIME I'M REALLY DISAPPOINTED..

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL TO THE FLOORBOARD, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO RESPOND WITH THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT PULLED OVER AND HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO BEND HONDA LOCATED AT 2225 NE HWY 20, BEND, OR 97701, (541)797-2054, WHERE THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT INFORMED OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 29,500.
THE BATTERY DIES FREQUENTLY FOR NO REASON AFTER NOT DRIVING FOR ONE TO TWO DAYS. WHEN THE BATTERY DIES, IT LOCKS UP THE BRAKES AND MESSES UP THE SAFETY FEATURES.
