TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 HONDA CR-V. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DIAL GEAR POPPED OFF THE CONSOLE AND THE CONTACT COULD NOT FIND THE GEAR KNOB. THE CONTACT HAD TO LOOK FOR THE PIECE WHILE TRYING TO STEER THE VEHICLE TO SAFETY. THE CONTACT CALLED METRO HONDA (9399 AUTOPLEX ST, MONTCLAIR, CA 91763, (909) 542-9637) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THEY WOULD CHECK FOR THE REPLACEMENT PART AND REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 21,000.
THIS PAST SUMMER, I WAS DRIVING BY MYSELF WHEN ALL OF THE SUDDEN, THE INFOTAINMENT CENTER (THE SCREEN THAT CONTROLS EVERYTHING AND IS AT THE CENTER OF IT ALL) STARTED BEEPING UNCONTROLLABLY AND THE SCREEN'S BRIGHTNESS SETTING STARTED GOING FROM FULL BRIGHTNESS TO FULL DARKNESS. I HAD NO IDEA WHAT WAS GOING ON. I WAS TERRIFIED AND ALMOST GOT INTO A CAR ACCIDENT, REAR ENDING THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. I BECAME VERY DISTRACTED AND STARTLED. I WASN'T SURE IF THE CAR COMPUTER OR BATTERY WAS OVER HEATING, I WASN'T SURE IF I SHOULD PULL OVER ACROSS TWO LANES OF TRAFFIC TO MAKE AN EMERGENCY STOP...IT WAS TERRIBLE. I TRIED EVERYTHING TO GET IT TO STOP. NOTHING WOULD DO IT. LUCKILY, I WAS A FEW MINUTES AWAY FROM HOME. I PULLED INTO MY DRIVEWAY IN A PANIC AND SHUT THE CAR OFF. I TURNED IT BACK ON AND IT WAS GONE. I CHALKED THIS UP TO MAYBE A ONE TIME COMPUTER GLITCH AND LET IT GO. TWO DAYS LATER ON THE HIGHWAY, THE SAME THING HAPPENED. THIS CONTINUED MANY MORE TIMES RANDOMLY WITHOUT ANY WARNING OR EXPLANATION. I NEVER RECEIVED A NOTICE OR WARNING IN THE MAIL. I WISH MY STORY ENDED THERE, BUT IT DOESN'T. THE RANDOM OBNOXIOUS BEEPING AND FLASHING EVENTUALLY STOPPED. HOWEVER, TWO WEEKS AGO I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM WORK AT NIGHT AND NOTICED I COULD BARELY SEE THE LINES ON THE ROAD. I ALMOST HIT A DEER. CONFUSED, I REALIZED THE BRIGHTNESS WAS TURNED ALL THE WAY UP ON THE INFOTAINMENT CENTER AND ON THE SCREEN DIRECTLY BEHIND THE STEERING WHEEL. I ATTEMPTED TO TURN THE BRIGHTNESS DOWN, BUT QUICKLY REALIZED THE SCREENS WERE FROZEN ON THE HIGHEST BRIGHTNESS SETTING. EVEN WHEN I WOULD PRESS THE (-) SYMBOL TO TURN IT DOWN, IT WOULD SCALE DOWN TO THE LOWEST SETTING, YET REMAIN ON FULL BRIGHTNESS. HONDA TOLD ME THEY COULDN'T DO ANYTHING. TONIGHT, I ALMOST HIT A PEDESTRIAN BECAUSE I COULDN'T SEE THEM UNTIL THE LAST MINUTE. I'VE NEVER BEEN SO MORTIFIED. SOMETHING HAS TO BE DONE. I HAVE VIDEOS.
I HAVE READ THAT THERE ARE PROBLEMS WITH HONDA'S 1.5 LITER TURBO EARTHDREAMS ENGINE RELATED TO GASOLINE IN THE ENGINE OIL. I CHECK MY ENGINE OIL DIPSTICK TODAY AND DISCOVERED THERE IS INDEED GASOLINE IN IT (PER SMELLING IT). I HAVE FILED A CASE WITH HONDA, BUT SINCE THEY DON'T HAVE A FIX FOR THIS YET, I AM WORRIED THAT HAVING GAS IN THE ENGINE OIL IS GOING TO CAUSE SEVERE DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE. I HAVE ASKED HONDA WHAT THEY INTEND TO DO TO REMEDY THIS PROBLEM, BUT HAVE NOT RECEIVED A RESPONSE AS OF YET. I HAD AN OIL CHANGE APPROXIMATELY 2,000 MILES AGO. THERE IS ABOUT 39,950 MILES ON THE CAR. I HAVE NOT YET NOTICED ANY MAJOR PROBLEMS WITH THE ENGINE, BUT IT DOES NOT SEEM TO HAVE THE POWER IT DID WHEN I FIRST PURCHASED IT. THANK YOU.
WHILE RIDING IN FRONT PASSENGER SEAT, MY DAUGHTER TRIED TO PULL THE BELT FROM THE CEILING TO LOOSEN IT. THE BELT WOULD NOT ALLOW HER TO LOOSEN IT AND WAS LOCKED DOWN. SHE HAD TO UNBUCKLE IT TO LOOSEN IT. THE CAR WAS NOT STOPPED AND HAD NOT HAD BRAKES APPLIED. WE WERE ON THE INTERSTATE. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. IT SHOULD NOT BE LOCKED UNLESS THERE WAS HARD BRAKING. SHE WAS UNSECURED WHEN SHE HAD TO UNBUCKLE IT TO LOOSEN IT.
WHILE STOPPED IN A CHICK FIL A DRIVE THROUGH, THE SEATBELT TIGHTENED DOWN ON MY 11 YEAR OLD AND WOULD NOT RELEASE.HE UNBUCKLED IT, BUT IT WAS WRAPPED AROUND HIM AND THE BELT WOULD NOT ALLOW YOU TO PULL DOWN FROM THE CEILING TO GIVE SLACK. IT WOULD NOT MOVE MORE THAN AN INCH AND WAS CONSTRICTING HIS CHEST AND WAIST AREA. I TURNED THE CAR OFF AND ON AND IT WOULD NOT RELEASE. I READ THE OWNERS MANUAL AND THERE WAS NO WAY TO EMERGENCY RELEASE. I HAD TO OBTAIN A PAIR OF SCISSORS AND CUT THE BELT TO GET HIM OUT. IT IS FELT THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. HE COULD NOT GET OUT OF THE BELT AND THE CAR WAS NOT EVEN MOVING. PICTURES ARE AVAILABLE.
THE OIL LEVEL HAS CONSISTENTLY INCREASED AFTER EVERY OIL CHANGE, AND HAS HAD THE SMELL OF GASOLINE, EVEN WITHIN 1200 MILES. I HAVE BROUGHT THIS TO THE ATTENTION OF HONDA ON THREE SEPARATE OCCASIONS, BUT THE DEALERSHIP REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE PROBLEM SINCE I LIVE IN A WARM CLIMATE AREA, AND THEY INSIST, IN THE FACE OF CLEAR EVIDENCE, THAT ONLY COLD CLIMATES HAVE THE PROBLEM. 1,168 MILES AFTER AN OIL AND FILTER CHANGE, I SMELLED GAS FROM THE DIPSTICK, SO I SENT THE OIL IN FOR ANALYSIS. THE REPORT CAME BACK WITH CRITICAL (>5%) DILUTION. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE, AS MANY PEOPLE MAY NOT KNOW THAT THEIR ENGINES MAY SIEZE, OR JUST STOP RUNNING, DUE TO LACK OF LUBRICATION.
COLLISION AVOIDANCE SYSTEM STOPPED CAR FROM 25 MPH ON STRAIGHT LEVEL ROAD WITH NOTHING IN FRONT OF VEHICLE. OCCURRED ONE TIME. AMBER BRAKE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON A FEW OCCASIONS WHILE RIDING ON STRAIGHT LEVEL ROAD WITH NOTHING IN FRONT OF VEHICLE. ALL THESE OCCURRENCES HAPPENED DURING GOOD, DRY WEATHER. ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL INTERMITTENTLY KEEPS SPEED AT 1-2 MPH BELOW SET SPEED ON INTERSTATE WITH NOTHING IN FRONT OF VEHICLE ON STRAIGHT LEVEL ROAD IN GOOD WEATHER. VEHICLE TAKEN TO DEALER AND WAS TOLD THE SYSTEMS ARE NORMAL. DEALER ALSO TOLD ME THAT THESE SYSTEMS ARE CONNECTED AND IF ONE COMPONENT FAILS, ALL WILL FAIL.
THE VEHICLE BRIGHTNESS CONTROL ON THE CENTER SCREEN BEEPS AND FLASHES AT RANDOM TIMES. THE BEEPING ALONE IS VERY DISTRACTING. THE SCREEN OFTEN GOES DARK. IT'S NECESSARY TO RESTART THE VEHICLE IN ORDER TO "RESET" THE DISPLAY, A POSSIBLY DANGEROUS SITUATION ON THE HIGHWAY. VEHICLE IS TYPICALLY IN MOTION EACH TIME THIS HAS OCCURRED ON VARIOUS ROADWAYS. THIS SITUATION WITH THE DISPLAY HAS REOCCURRED APPROXIMATELY TEN TIMES THUS FAR.
STOPPED VEHICLE TO PARK AND WAS UNABLE TO MOVE SHIFT LEVER TO PARK. THE PUSH BUTTON ON THE SHIFT LEVER HAD BROKEN. THE VEHICLE COULD BE TURNED OFF, BUT IT COULD NOT BE STARTED WITHOUT THE SHIFT LEVER MOVING TO PARK. THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN REPORTED BY MANY, MANY USERS!
I WAS ACCELERATING ONTO A HIGHWAY WHEN THE CAR SUDDENLY LOST ACCELERATION AND POWER, MADE A HIGH PITCHED SQUEAL WITH RECEIPT OF THE FOLLOWING WARNINGS/ALARMS: BRAKE SYSTEM WARNING, LOSS OF COLLISION AVOIDANCE SYSTEM, ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE PROBLEM, ROAD DEPARTURE MITIGATION SYSTEM PROBLEM, ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL PROBLEM, HILL ASSIST PROBLEM, VEHICLE STABILITY ASSIST PROBLEM, POWER STEERING SYSTEM PROBLEM, BRAKE HOLD PROBLEM, EMISSIONS SYSTEM PROBLEM TO NAME A FEW. THIS IS MORE THAN TROUBLESOME, THE GUY BEHIND ME ALMOST HIT ME AND HAD TO SWERVE TO AVOID AN ACCIDENT. MORE RECENTLY I WAS DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY AT NIGHT WHEN I LOST MY HEADLIGHTS AND PARKING LIGHTS. IN ADDITION THE FOLLOWING ALARMS LOCKED IN BRAKE SYSTEM WARNING, ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL PROBLEM, LANE KEEPING ASSIST PROBLEM, COLLISION MITIGATION SYSTEM PROBLEM, ROAD DEPARTURE SYSTEM PROBLEM, AUTO HIGH BEAM SYSTEM PROBLEM. ITS ONE THING TO GET WARNINGS ITS ANOTHER TO LOOSE YOUR HEADLIGHTS AND PARKING LIGHTS ON A BUSY DARK HIGHWAY. I SHUDDER TO THINK WHAT COULD HAVE HAPPENED. HONDA DOES NOT KNOW WHAT IS HAPPENING. HOW CAN THEY SELL A $30,000 + VEHICLE AND HAVE SAFETY ISSUES SUCH AS THESE? SOMEBODY NEEDS TO ACT QUICKLY BEFORE FOLKS ARE KILLED.
THIS MORNING AS I WAS DRIVING I WENT THROUGH A 4-WAY INTERSECTION. I WAS HALF WAY THROUGH THE INTERSECTION WHEN MY CAR ANNOUNCED LANE DEPARTURE. AT THAT TIME THE VEHICLE SHOT OVER TO THE RIGHT AND HIT THE CURB AT THE END OF THE INTERSECTION. I SHREDDED MY TIRE, AND HAD TO PLACE THE SPARE ON THE VEHICLE. I HAVE BEEN TO HONDA MULTIPLE TIMES FOR THESE ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS. WHILE DRIVING I HAVE BEEN GO AT A SPEED AROUND 45-70 MPH, AND THE VEHICLE WILL FLASH BRAKE. AT THAT TIME THE VEHICLE'S BRAKES WILL LOCK UP. THERE WAS NO ONE IN FRONT OF ME FOR ANY THE OCCASIONS. HONDA TOLD ME TO SWITCH MY EZ PASS RESPONDER TO MAKE SURE THAT WASN'T CAUSING INTERFERENCE. I SWITCHED IT, AND IT KEPT OCCURRING. THIS MORNING THE CONCERNS I BROUGHT UP AT MY LAST SERVICE ABOUT WHAT IF I GET IN AN ACCIDENT ALMOST BECAME A REALITY. LUCKILY THERE WAS NO ONE ON THE CORNER WAITING TO CROSS THE ROAD. THE HONDA DEALERSHIP KEEPS TELLING ME THERE WILL BE AN UPDATE, BUT SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE NOW. LIVES ARE AT RISK. IF I KNEW HOW TO GO BY DOING A LEMON I WOULD. I STARTED REPORTING ISSUES AT 18K, AND HAVE CONSTANTLY BEEN DOING REPORTING OCCURRENCES WERE THE VEHICLE HAS MALFUNCTIONED.

DRIVING ON HIGHWAY AT 70 MILES PER HOUR IN BEAUTIFUL 80 DEGREE WEATHER DAY ON AN AUGUST AFTERNOON - NO RAIN, NO OBSTRUCTIONS - WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN THE DASHBOARD LIGHTS UP WITH WARNINGS ON THE ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL, COLLISION MITIGATION SYSTEM, BRAKE FAILURE, LANE ASSIST SYSTEM - EVERYTHING FLASHING AND BEEPING. I IMMEDIATELY TURN ALL THE ASSIST SYSTEMS OFF BUT THINGS STILL LITE UP AND WARNING. WHEN I AM SAFELY ABLE TO GET OFF THE HIGHWAY TO STOP AND TURN CAR OFF AND TURN IT BACK ON ALL THE WARNINGS GO AWAY AND APPEAR TO BE FINE. SENSORS ARE CLEAN AND CLEAR OF OBSTRUCTIONS. COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING AND HAD US PICK IT UP. NEXT MORNING WOULD NOT START AGAIN. THEY FINALLY REPLACED THE BATTERY. THIS WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A SAFE, RELIABLE CAR AND NOW I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE IT ANY DISTANCE WITH FEAR OF FAILURES.

THE CONTACT'S FRIEND CLAIMED THAT SHE SMELLED AN ODOR COMING FROM THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS PULLED OVER AND TURNED OFF. WHEN THE CONTACT'S FRIEND ATTEMPTED TO RESTART THE VEHICLE, ALL THE WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL AND THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT RESTART. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO PORT CHARLOTTE HONDA (1252 TAMIAMI TRAIL, PORT CHARLOTTE, FL 33953, 941-564-3343) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE FAILED. THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THEY REPAIRED THE MOTOR AND CHANGED THE BATTERY; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED THREE DAYS LATER. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE SAME DEALER AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE BATTERY WAS NEVER CHANGED AND THAT THEY WOULD REPLACE THE BATTERY TO REPAIR THE DEFECT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED REGARDING THE FAILURES AND COMPLAINT NUMBER: 09758024 WAS FILED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 24,600.
I RECENTLY PURCHASED A 2017 HONDA CR-V WITH THE INTENT OF USING IT AS A 5 PASSENGER VEHICLE. HOWEVER, THE REAR SEAT BELT DOES NOT ALLOW TO SAFELY BUCKLE 3 CHILDREN IN THE BACK EVEN THOUGH IT WAS PURCHASED AS A 5 PASSENGER VEHICLE. THERE ARE 3 SEAT BELTS PROVIDED BUT THEY CROSS OVER EACH OTHER IN A MANNER THAT MAKES THE SEAT BELTS TWIST AND DOES NOT SAFELY BUCKLE 3 CHILDREN IN AT ONE TIME.
BUTTON ON SHIFTER KNOB HAS BROKEN OFF AT APPROXIMATELY 37,000 MILES. CANNOT SHIFT CAR OUT OF PARK.
THE TOUCHSCREEN IS HORRIBLE. DELAYED RESPONSE OFTEN WHEN TOUCHING ANY OF THE FEATURES LIKE AUDIO, CHANGING PRESET STATIONS ON THE RADIO ETC... FREEZES UP OFTEN AND THE "BRIGHTNESS" FEATURE WOULD APPEAR ON THE SCREEN BY ITSELF AND THE ONLY WAY TO GET RIDE OF IT IS TO TURN THE ENGINE OFF AND RESTART THE ENGINE. I HAVE NUMEROUS VIDEOS OF THE ISSUE. COMPLAINED TO DEALERSHIP EVEN BOUGHT IT IN TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT WHEN THE ISSUE IS HAPPENING SO THEY CAN SEE IT REALTIME AND TROUBLESHOOT. UNFORTUNATELY THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE ISSUE THE ONLY RESOLUTION WAS TO DO A FACTORY RESET OF THE TOUCHSCREEN. I AM STILL HAVING ISSUES. THE DEALERSHIP RECOMMEND ME TO CONTACT HONDA DIRECTLY TO REPORT ISSUE. THEY CAN'T REPLACE THE TOUCH SCREEN WITHOUT HONDA CORPORATE OFFICE APPROVING.

DURING THE INCIDENT, THE BRAKE SENSOR INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. AFTER SHIFTING INTO PARK AND BACK INTO DRIVE, THE VEHICLE OPERATED NORMALLY. DURING THE FAILURE, THERE WERE NO OTHER VEHICLES PRESENT AHEAD OF THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. CLINTON HONDA (1511 US-22, CLINTON, NJ) WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,000.
IN MOTION 45MPH ON A CITY STREET HEADING STRAIGHT AND 'BRAKE' FLASHED ON THE DASHBOARD AND THEN APPLIED ITSELF INSTANTLY AND ABRUPTLY TO A STOP. THERE WERE NO CARS OR OBSTACLES IN FRONT FOR THE BRAKE TO BE APPLIED. HOWEVER, THE GROUND WAS SLIGHTLY WET FROM SPRINKLERS THAT HAD SPRAYED THE ROAD WHICH MAKES NO SENSE IF IT BRAKED FOR THAT BECAUSE I HAVE DRIVEN IN RAIN STORMS ALREADY AND NOTHING HAPPENED.THERE WERE CARS BEHIND ME THAT HAD TO SLAM ON THEIR BRAKES AND SWERVE TO AVOID REAR ENDING ME.
CAR HAS STALLED WHEN IN MOTION. STALLING HAPPENED ONCE ON HIGHWAY, 2-3 OTHER TIMES ON SECONDARY ROADS. IT FEELS LIKE CAR "MISSES A BEAT" THEN STRUGLES TO REIGNITE. ENGINE DID NOT STOP COMPLETELY. AT TIMES THERE HAS BEEN A SMELL OF GAS IN THE CAR WHEN IN MOTION.
WE HAD DIFFICULTY SHIFTING OUR CRV INTO PARK ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS OVER A PERIOD OF A COUPLE OF DAYS. EVENTUALLY WE WERE TOTALLY UNABLE TO GET IT INTO PARK, AND THUS COULD NOT GET THE KEY TO THE COMPLETELY OFF POSITION AND REMOVE IT, SO THE BATTERY WOULD HAVE BEEN DRAINED IF WE LEFT IT THAT WAY. FORTUNATELY THE FINAL FAILURE WAS IN OUR OWN DRIVEWAY. QUICK RESEARCH ON THE WEB POINTED US TO THE PROBLEM MANY HAVE HAD WITH THE BUTTON ON THE SIDE OF THE SHIFTER THAT MUST BE PRESSED TO GET IN AND OUT OF PARK. SURE ENOUGH, WE FOUND THE BUTTON WAS BROKEN INSIDE AND NOT FUNCTIONAL. THE BUTTON AND SPRING FELL OUT AS WE INSPECTED IT. THOUGH WE'RE GRATEFUL IT DIDN'T POP OFF WHILE WE WERE DRIVING, IT SEEMS CLEAR THIS IS A FREQUENT FAILURE THAT CAN CREATE A DANGEROUS SITUATION. SEEMS LIKE THERE SHOULD BE AN OFFICIAL RECALL.

NO PROBLEMS HAVE OCCURRED YET, BUT A ONE YEAR EXTENSION ON A WARRANTY IS A TOTALLY INSUFFICIENT REMEDY TO THE PROBLEM THAT CAN SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCE A VEHICLES LIFE IF THE SYMPTOMS BECOME EVIDENT AFTER THE SHORT WARRANTY EXTENSION PERIOD. THE VEHICLE'S SHIFT KNOB BUTTON CAME LOOSE AND FELL OUT. AT THE TIME, I WAS PARKING THE VEHICLE IN A PARKING LOT AND ATTEMPTING TO SHIFT IT FROM DRIVE TO PARK. IN ADDITION TO THE BUTTON, A METAL SPRING AND MANY PIECES OF BROKEN PLASTIC FELL OUT OF THE SHIFT KNOB. FORTUNATELY I WAS ABLE TO JAM A SCREWDRIVER INTO THE SHIFT KNOB AND SHIFT THE VEHICLE INTO PARK. THE VEHICLE HAD JUST OVER 12,000 MILES WHEN THIS HAPPENED.
THE RIGHT MIRROR LANE INDICATOR MALFUNCTIONS AT DIFFERENT TIMES. THE MALFUNCTION INDICATES THAT THERE IS A VEHICLE IN THE RIGHT LANE WHEN THERE IS NONE. HONDA REFUSES TO LOOK INTO BECAUSE IT DOESN'T HAPPEN ALL THE TIME. IV'E HAD IT TO THE DEALERSHIP 4 TIMES BUT THE PROBLEM IS NOT SHOWING UP AS A MALFUNCTION CODE.WHEN THE MALFUNCTION OCCURS THE RIGHT MIRROR INDICATOR LIGHT REMAINS ON AND IF I TRY TO USE MY RIGHT TURN SIGNAL THE SYSTEM BEEPS AS IF THERE IS A CAR IN THE RIGHT LANE WHEN THERE IN NONE. **'17 HONDA CR-V SHIFT LEVER BUTTON (SILVER) BROKE OFF DURING DRIVE!!** CR-V W/ AROUND 26K MILES HAD THE SILVER BUTTON FALL OUT WHILE IN MOTION ON A CITY STREET ON 7/13/2019. I WASN'T ACCELERATING OR DECELERATING AT THE TIME, IT JUST POPPED OUT. I WAS ABLE TO SAFELY PULL OVER AND STOP, BUT HAD A LOT OF TROUBLE GETTING IT SHIFTED FROM DRIVE TO PARK. I HAD TO PUSH THE LOOSE SPRING AND PLASTIC BUTTON BACK INTO THE SHIFT LEVER AND AFTER 6 TRIES, WAS ABLE TO PUT IT INTO PARK. ALSO, THE CAR WON'T TURN OFF AND WON'T LOCK BECAUSE THE COMPUTER DOESN'T RECOGNISE THAT IT IS PARKED. THE ENGINE START/STOP BUTTON KEEPS FLASHING RED.
THE GEARSHIFT BUTTON BROKE AND FALLS OUT WHEN PUT IN GEAR
I PURCHASED A 2017 HONDA BRAND NEW FROM MY LOCAL DEALER ON 9/28/2017 I HAD THE OIL CHANGED AS REQUIRED . A FEW MONTHS AGO I HAD A OIL CHANGE DONE AT THE DEALER AT THE SAME VISIT THEY DID A FUEL INJECTION SOFTWARE UPGRADE. SINCE THE UPGRADE MY ENGINE RUNS VERY ROUGH WHEN FIRST STARTED THIS NEVER HAPPENED BE FORE THE UPGRADE. THE REASON FOR THE UPGRADE WAS THAT THERE WAS GAS GETTING INTO THE OIL CAUSING THE OIL LEVEL TO RISE WHICH STATED IN THE OWNERS MANUAL CAN CAUSE ENGINE DAMAGE. TODAY I LISTENED TO MY ENGINE AND THE TICKING NOISE IS GETTING MUCH LOADER THAN WHEN I PURCHASED THE CAR .IAM VERY CONCERN THAT THERE IS ENGINE DAMAGE ITS SEEMS THAT HONDA IS IN NO HURRY AT ALL FIXING THE PROBLEM AND WHEN THEY DO ITS GOING TO BE TO LATE AND THE ENGINE WILL BE RUINED
WHILE DRIVING THE SHIFT LEVER PUSH KNOB BUTTON WHICH ALLOWS YOU TO SHIFT GEARS FELL OUT. UPON RESEARCHING THIS ISSUE ON LINE, APPARENTLY IT IS A WELL KNOWN ISSUE WITH 2017 AND 2018 HONDA CR-VS. THE PLASTIC BUTTON BREAKS INSIDE THE SHIFT LEVER WITH PART FALLING OUT AND THE OTHER PORTION REMAINING INSIDE THE SHIFT LEVER. WHEN I RETURNED THE VEHICLE TO A HONDA DEALER, THEY WERE WELL AWARE OF THIS ISSUE AND REPLACED IT UNDER WARRANTY. THIS ITEM SHOULD BE THE SUBJECT OF A MANDATORY RECALL AS IT POSES A HAZARD WHEN ONE CAN'T SHIFT THE CAR OUT OF DRIVE ETC. I WAS TOLD AT THE DEALER THAT IT IS ONLY REPLACED IF ALREADY BROKEN.
SHIFT KNOB BUTTON BROKE OFF WHILE PLACING THE CAR IN DRIVE FROM PARK - NOW I AM UNABLE TO SHIFT CAR TO PARK OR ANY OTHER GEAR. THIS CAR ONLY HAS 19K MILES ON IT AND A YEAR AND A 1/2 OLD. THERE ARE MANY REPORTS OF THIS SAME PROBLEM ON THE INTERNET AND ON YOUTUBE - I HAVE NEVER IN ALL OF MY YEARS DRIVING HAD A SIMILAR ISSUE WITH A SHIFT BUTTON.
CAR WOULD NOT GO INTO "PARK" AFTER TRYING. THE GEAR SHIFT WOULD NOT GO PAST NEUTRAL. THE VEHICLE WAS STOPPED AND SITTING IN A PARKING SPOT. FORTUNATELY THE DEALER WAS CLOSE AFTER ATTEMPTING TO SHIFT NUMEROUS TIMES WAS ABLE TO MOVE. TOOK MY CR-V TO THE DEALER AND THEY REPLACED THE SPRING AND THE KNOB YOU PRESS TO CHANGE GEARS. THEY SAID THIS WAS COVERED BY WARRANTY. THEY HAD THE KNOB AND SPRING READILY AVAILABLE WHICH TELLS ME THEY KNOW ABOUT THIS ISSUE.
IF I PARKED THIS CAR OVER TWO NIGHTS, ITS BATTERY WILL DIE AND NEED TO CALL AAA TO JUMP IT. IT OCCURS OVER FIVE TIMES IN ONLY TWO YEARS. THEN I CHANGED MY BATTERY, IT STILL HAPPENED AND I ALSO TURN OFF ALL LIGHT IN MY CARS.
MY 2017 HONDA CRV-TOURING WAS JUST ABOUT 10K & RECENTLY, WHEN TURNING ON AC WHILE RUNNING, ENGINE IS MAKING VERY LOUD NOISE. THE CONTACT'S FRIEND TOOK THE VEHICLE TO DON AYRES HONDA (4740 LIMA RD, FORT WAYNE, IN 46808, 260-484-0551) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THEY COULD REPLACE THE OIL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND PROVIDED A CASE NUMBER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 36,000.
I WAS REAR ENDED ON THE HIGHWAY (101-N) BY A TRUCK GOING 20-30 MPH ABOVE THE SPEED LIMIT. DURING THE COLLISION, THE DRIVER AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY. MY SPEED LIMIT WAS 65-70 AND THE TRUCK SPEED LIMIT WAS MORE THAN MINE WHEN I TRY TO GO FASTER WAS STILL NOT ABLE TO OVIDED. AFTER THE CAR SCREENING YOU ARE IN CRASH I WAS A WAKE NOT SURE HOW IT STOPED AND WAS IN SHOCK FOR NOT SURE HOW LONG THEN I SAW A MESSAGE ON THE SCREEN SAYING CONTACTING HONDA BUT NOTHING HAPPEN. I TRY TO TOUCH IT BUT IT NOT WORK. I STOPED THE CAR MOVED THE KEY THEN TRY TO FIND MY TELEPHONE THANK FULLY MY CHARGER CORD WAS ON AND I PULLED IT FROM BEHIND SEAT I CALLED 911 THEN THE POLICE TOOK IT FROM THERE. I HAVE SO MUCH PAIN IN MY HEAD MOSTLY LEFT SIDE AND NEAR MY NECK I AM IN SO MUCH PAIN WHEN I AM IN THE SON MY VISION IS NOT OKEY. AND IF I WALK MORE THEN 15 MINUTES I AM HAVE THE WORST PAIN IN MY FEET LEGS BACK HEAD AND I DO BELIEVE ALL MY BODY IS HURTING BUT SOME OF MORE THEN THE OTHER MY RIBS ARE BETTER BUT LEFT RIBS HURT WHEN I DRIVE MORE THEN 20 MINUTES. I HAD CONSTIPATION FOR THE LAST 5 WEEKS REALIZED LAST WEEK I CAN NOT SMELL WELL AND I REALLY HATE THAT PERSON FOR WHAT HE DID TO ME. I AM NOT SURE IF I WILL EVER BE ABLE TO RECOVER AL AND THAT SO NOT FAIR AND THE WORST THEY RUN A WAY LEFT ME THERE.
PUSH BUTTON ON TRANSMISSION SHIFT LEVER BROKE AND FELL COMPLETELY OUT. TRANSMISSION LEVER COULD NOT BE MOVED. VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY, RUNNING AND COULD NOT BE TURNED OFF.

THE PUSH BUTTON ON THE GEAR SHIFT SPRUNG OUT OF THE "T" GEAR SHIFT HANDLE AFTER I PLACED THE CAR IN REVERSE. I WAS HAD NOT LEFT MY DRIVEWAY WHEN I DISCOVERED THE UNUSUAL OBJECT IN THE TRAY BETWEEN THE SEATS AND QUICKLY REALIZED WHAT IT WAS. THE BROKEN PLASTIC RETAINING CLIP AND A SPRING WERE ALSO LAYING ON A RECEIPT IN THE TRAY.I WAS ABLE TO PLACE THE BUTTON BACK INTO THE SHIFTER AND GO TO WORK. I HAVE READ ONLINE THAT OTHER 2017 CR VS HAVE THIS ISSUE AND ONE OF THE HONDA BLOGS SAID THIS MIGHT BECOME A RECALL. I HOPE SO, AS MY 25 MONTH OUT CAR HAS 36,000 + MILES AND IS OUT OF WARRANTY.
GEAR SHIFT LOCK RELEASE BUTTON BROKE WHICH PREVENTS THE TRANSMISSION FROM BEING RETURNED TO PARK.
2017 HONDA CR-V EX. THE SHIFT KNOB BUTTON (WHICH SHIFTS THE CAR OUT OF PARK AND INTO DRIVE) BROKE OFF FROM ITS SPRING AND IT WOULD NOT REGISTER THE CAR BEING IN PARK TO SHUT OFF THE ELECTRONICS IN THE VEHICLE. I WAS FORCED TO DISCONNECT THE NEGATIVE FROM BATTERY WHEN THE CAR IS IN PARK AND RECONNECT WHEN THE IT WAS TIME TO DRIVE SOMEWHERE. WHEN I CONTACTED MY HONDA DEALER, THEY INFORMED ME OF A RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE. ON A SIDE NOT, MY WIFE ALSO HAS THE SAME YEAR, MAKE AND MODEL WHICH HAD A RECALL FOR THE SAME ISSUE.
FUEL IS PENETRATING THE OIL IN THE ENGINE. STRONG GASOLINE SMELL IS PRESENT ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE VEHICLE AFTER DRIVING IT, REGARDLESS OF DISTANCE. GASOLINE SMELL FILLS CABIN WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE. PROBLEMS ARE OCCURRING REGARDLESS OF DISTANCE DRIVEN OR TERRAIN. FUEL IS DILUTING THE OIL IN THE VEHICLE IN SUCH LARGE AMOUNTS THAT THE OIL LEVEL IS BEYOND THE FULL LEVEL ON THE OIL DIP-STICK. TOOK VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP, AND THEY INFORMED ME THAT IT IS A KNOW ISSUE, BUT THAT THEY COULD NOT FIX IT SINCE THERE IS NO RECALL ACTIVE.
WHILE TRYING TO PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK, THE SILVER BUTTON ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE GEAR SHIFTER FLEW OFF. THE PIECE APPEARS TO BE BROKEN OFF IN THE INSIDE. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER THE NEXT DAY. THE SERVICE REP WAS NOT SURPRISED. SAYS HE HAS HEARD OF THIS HAPPENING IN OTHER CR-V'S. HE TRIED TO TELL ME IT JUST POPPED OUT, BUT THIS THING BROKE OFF IN THE INSIDE. HE SAID HE SAID HE WAS SURPRISED THERE IS NO RECALL. THEY FIXED IT. NO CHARGE. QUITE A FRIGHTENING EXPERIENCE WHEN IT HAPPENED
AUTOMATIC BRAKING SYSTEM HAS ACTIVATED TWO TIMES SINCE I HAD THE CAR. FIRST TIME WHEN THERE WAS A METAL PLATE IN THE STREET ABOUT A YEAR AGO. ON JUNE 22 IN BROOKLYN IT WENT OFF AGAIN FOR NO REASON STOPPING THE CAR ABRUPTLY. FORTUNATELY NO ONE WAS BEHIND ME. THIS IS VERY DISTURBING AND DANGEROUS
