THE VEHICLE HAS A KNOWN ISSUE BY HONDA WITH UNSAFE LEVELS OF OIL DILUTION IN THE 1.5 CVT TURBO ENGINE. GAS IS MIXING IN WITH THE OIL, CAUSING OIL LEVELS TO RISE. THE FUMES OF GASOLINE ARE ENTERING INTO THE CABIN SPACE AND MAKING IT UNSAFE TO BREATHE. THE ENGINE IS ALSO HAVING STALLING ISSUES DUE TO GAS MIXING IN WITH THE OIL IN THE ENGINE AREA. THIS ALSO HAS AN ISSUE WITH THE ABILITY TO KEEP THE CAR WARM AND PROVIDING ADEQUATE HEAT INTO THE CABIN AREA. THE COMPONENTS OF THIS ENGINE ARE UNSAFE FOR COLD WEATHER CLIMATES SUCH AS THE NORTHEAST. THE CAR CAN NOT WARM UP THE ENGINE SUFFICIENTLY AT IDLE AND THEREFORE WILL NOT BLOW ANY HOT AIR INTO THE CABIN AREA. THE MANUFACTURER STATES THE CAR NEEDS TO BE OPERATING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS FOR APPROXIMATELY 10 MINUTES TO GAIN SUFFICIENT ENGINE WARMTH. THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE, AS MANY OWNERS OF THIS VEHICLE HAVE FAMILIES AND CHILDREN, AND WE MAKE SHORT TRIPS BACK AND FORTH. FOR THE CAR TO BE COLD AND BLOW COLD AIR AND NOT BE ABLE TO WARM UP IS A FAILURE BY THE MANUFACTURER TO PROVIDE A SAFE VEHICLE. HONDA CASE NUMBER 06673515
THE CAR STRONGLY SMELLED OF GAS AFTER RUNNING FOR SHORT WHILE FOR A LONG TIME. WE IGNORED IT INITIALLY. LATER WE REALIZED THAT THE ODOR WAS TOO STRONG TO IGNORE AND WE HAVE TO OPEN THE WINDOW TO GET THE SMELL OUT. THE CAR WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO MADE SOME CHANGES. IT WAS TAKEN CARE OF. BUT THE SMELL RE-APPEARED AFTER A COUPLE OF WEEKS AND IT WAS EXTREMELY STRONG DURING THE EXTREME COLD WEEK, END OF JANUARY 2019. OPENED THE HOOD AND CHECKED THE ENGINE OIL LEVEL AND THE OIL LEVEL WAS TOO HIGH.
THE BUTTON ON THE TRANSMISSION SELECTOR CAME OUT. WHEN I PUT IT BACK IN THE TRANSMISSION WOULDN'T SHIFT INTO PARK. THE VEHICLE WAS STOPPED AT THE TIME.
CHECK OIL DEEP STICK . IT WENT OVER MAX BY 1 INCH AND IT SMELL GASOLINE. WENT TO HONDA DEALER TO FIX. THEY DID SOFTWARE UPDATE AND AC CPU REPLACE AND OIL CHANGED. STILL DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. SOMETIMES MY WIFE AND SON SMELL GAS I DON'T KNOW WHERE IT COMES FROM . REALLY DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO NOW....
WHEN PULLING INTO A DRIVEWAY AT A FRIENDS HOUSE, I COULD NOT SHIFT THE CAR INTO PARK. I FINALLY GOT IT INTO NEUTRAL AND WORRYING THAT I MIGHT HAVE TO HAVE IT TOWED, I PUT THE CAR IN REVERSE AND HAD INTENTIONS OF PARKING IT IN THE STREET. WHEN I GOT IT INTO REVERSE, THE SHIFT BUTTON BROKE OFF AND SPRING FELL ON THE GROUND. ENDED UP GETTING IT TO THE HONDA DEALER ON 01/07/2019 WHO APPARENTLY HAS SEEN A LOT OF THESE. CAR HAD AROUND 13,500 MILES ON IT AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT.
CAR OCCASIONALLY SMELLS LIKE FUEL ON THE INSIDE. THIS HAPPENS AT TIMES DAYS AFTER THE LAST TIME THE GAS TANK WAS FILLED. APPEARS TO BE A LEAK SOMEWHERE. CAN SOMETIMES OCCUR WHILE CAR IS IN MOTION ON HIGHWAY OR IDLING AT STANDSTILL.
GAS IS MIXING IN THE OIL OF OUR NEW 2017 HONDA CR-V. THE 1.5 LITER ENGINE DOES NOT WARM UP SUFFICIENTLY IN COLD WEATHER, RUNS RICH, AND LEAVES UN-COMBUSTED GAS IN THE OIL. BEGAN LOSING POWER.
I OWN A 2017 HONDA CR-V 1.5 TURBO FWD AND MY VEHICLE IS SUFFERING FROM THE AFFECTS OF 'OIL DILUTION.' I REGULARLY HAVE MY OIL CHANGED BY HONDA, BUT I NOTICED, UPON RETURNING FROM A LONG TRIP IN NORTHERN INIDIANA OVER WINTER, A STRONG ODOR OF GASOLINE WHEN CHECKING MY OIL-DIPSTICK AND THE VOLUME WAS MUCH HIGHER THAN EXPECTED. WHEN I BROUGHT MY VEHICLE TO HONDA, I WAS ADVISED THAT HONDA WAS AWARE OF A PROBLEM FOR ALL 2017-2018 CR-V 1.5 TURBOS WITH RESIDUAL GAS DRIPPING INTO THE CYLINDERS AND EVENTUALLY THE OIL CRANK-CASE, CALLED 'OIL DILUTION'. I ASKED THE HONDA TECHNICIAN TO CHECK FOR GASOLINE IN MY OIL, BUT THEY SAID NO SUCH TEST WAS AVAILABLE. HE ADVISED ME THAT NO FIX CURRENTLY EXISTS, ASIDE FROM MORE FREQUENT OIL CHANGES. I THEN FOLLOWED UP WITH THE LEAD TECHNICIAN AT MY DEALER TO RESOLVE THE SAFETY CONCERN, BUT I WAS VERBALLY TOLD THAT HONDA DOES NOT INTEND TO ADDRESS THE ISSUE UNLESS LITIGATION IS MANDATED. I BELIEVE THIS PROBLEM POSSES A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN AS THESE VEHICLES AGE AND THE RISK OF ENGINE SEIZURE OR EXPLOSION INCREASE. HONDA NORTH AMERICA'S POSITION IS THAT SINCE THERE ARE SO FEW 2017 CR-VS WITH TURBO ON THE ROAD, THEY DO NOT SEE A REASON TO ACT. THERE IS A FUNDAMENTAL PROBLEM WITH THIS HONDA TURBO FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM, WHICH WAS FIXED FOR THE 2019 MODELS. A SOFTWARE PATCH IS BEING ISSUED BY HONDA CANADA, BUT THIS IS NOT OFFERED IN SOUTHERN STATES AND HONDA REFUSES TO COMMENT ON THE LONG TERM IMPACT AND DEGRADED PERFORMANCE. I AM DEEPLY CONCERNED FOR THE SAFETY OF MY FAMILY AND FELLOW DRIVERS.
MY CAR IS LESS THAN 39,000 MILES AND I HAD TO CHANGE ALL FOUR TIRES WHICH WERE GIVING ME ISSUES SINCE I PURCHASED LESS THAN 2 YEARS AGO. JANUARY 3RD MY CAR WOULD NOT START. JAN 4TH AND 5TH AGAIN MY CAR WOULD NOT STOP WITHOUT A JUMP. I HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT ELECTRICAL PROBLEM, RADIO BLINKING AND NOT COMING ON OR BRAKE SYSTEM ENGAGING WITHOUT BRAKING ETC. SINCE I HAVE PURCHASED. I HAVE ONLY TAKEN TO HONDA DEALERS ONLY TO BE TOLD ISSUES NOT COVERED BY WARRANTY AND NO EXPLANATION WHY I NEED NEW TIRES AND NEW BATTER WITH A CAR LESS THAN TWP YEARS AND UNDER 39,000 MILES. THERE ARE MANY COMPLAINTS REGARDING BATTERIES AND ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS AND MY 2017 CAR IS AMONG THEM.
WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE IN THE CITY, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT FLASHES ON AND OFF. VEHICLE LOSES POWER AND WILL NOT ACCELERATE, CREATING SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE. DEALER CONFIRMED ENGINE OIL DIPSTICK HAD UNUSALLY STRONG SMELL OF GASOLINE. VEHCILE HAS BEEN SERVICED ONCE BY HONDA DEALER. I WAS ASSURED THAT ALL NECESSARY FIXES WERE MADE. SAME ISSUE HAPPENED AGAIN. RETURNED VEHICLE TO HONDA DEALER FOR ADDITIONAL SERVICE.
THE OIL DIPSTICK IS SHOWING THE OIL LEVEL TO BE SUBSTANTIALLY HIGHER THAN THE MAX OIL LEVEL. I TOOK IT TO THE HONDA DEALER 1/2/19. THEY SHOWED ME A SERVICE BULLETIN INDICATING THAT GAS COULD BE MIXING WITH THE OIL, BUT HONDA CONSIDERED THAT A NORMAL OPERATING CONDITION FOR THAT MODEL. THEY OFFERED NO SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM, BUT DID CHANGE THE OIL AT MY REQUEST. I CONSIDER GAS MIXING WITH THE CRANKCASE OIL A SERIOUS PROBLEM. ACTION SHOULD BE TAKEN TO REMEDY THIS PROBLEM.
I CHECK ENGINE OIL YESTERDAY AND FOUND LEVEL VERY HIGH ON DIPSTICK AND SMELLING STRONGLY OF GASOLINE. I CALLED THE HONDA DEALER CHECKERED FLAG WHERE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE AND TOOK IT DIRECTLY THERE.IT HAD ONLY BEEN 180 MILES DRIVEN SINCE LAST OIL CHANGE AT DEALER. THEY OFFERED TO CHANGE OIL AGAIN AND THEN TOLD ME TO KEEP CHECKING OIL LEVEL AND RETURN TO DEALER IN 1000 MILES. I WAS TOLD THE OIL LEVEL WAS HALF QUART OVER FILLED AND WAS BECAUSE GAS WAS NOT BEING BURNED DURING COMBUSTION BECAUSE ENGINE WAS NOT HOT ENOUGH. THEY SAID IT WAS NORMAL AND NOT TO WORRY. I DON'T THINK THE OIL WILL PROTECT MY ENGINE WHEN IT IS SO DILUTED WITH GASOLINE.I FILED A COMPLAINT AND GOT A CASE NUMBER [XXX] FROM HONDA AMERICA, BUT WANT THE PROBLEM TO BE FIXED BEFORE THERE IS LONG TERM DAMAGE TO MY ENGINE. DILUTION OF ENGINE OIL, WHICH HAS BEEN INFILTRATED BY GASOLINE. LOW POWER IN DRIVING. STRONG SMELL OF GASOLINE IN THE CABIN. VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION AT FIRST DETECTION OF GASOLINE SMELL.
ENGINE OIL DIPSTICK SHOWS OIL LEVEL ABOVE FULL AND SMELLS OF GAS. HONDA DEALER CLAIMS NO KNOWLEDGE OF A PROBLEM ALTHOUGH IT IS WELL KNOWN IN INTERNET AUTO BLOGS. I HAD MY OIL TESTED AT BLACKSTONE LABORATORIES AND THE REPORT STATES IT CONTAINS 3.3% OF FUEL AND 'A FAIR AMOUNT OF METAL PRESENT', AND A FLASHPOINT OF 305 DEGREES WHEN IT SHOULD BE ABOVE 370. THIS IS A NEW CAR WITH ONLY 3534 MILES ON IT. OIL DILUTED WITH GAS COULD CAUSE MY ENGINE TO FREEZE UP WHILE DRIVING DUE TO LACK OF PROPER LUBRICATION. THIS IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM IN A TURBO ENGINE AND WILL END ITS LIFE PREMATURELY AND POSSIBLY CAUSE AN ACCIDENT
SOMETHING IS CAUSING THE OIL LEVEL TO INCREASE ABOVE THE FULL MARK ON THE OIL DIPSTICK.
THERE IS A STRONG SMELL OF GAS IN THE OIL AND IS VERY BLACK WITH 70PERCENT OF OIL LIFE. THE PROBLEM WAS REPORTED AND NOTED AS AN AFFECTED MODEL. NO FIX TO DATE! I AM VERY CONCERNED ABOUT THE ENGINE LIFE
OUR 2017 HONDA CR-V WILL NOT KEEP THE BATTERY CHARGED EVEN WITH RECOMMENDED DRIVING PER CROWN HONDA OF GREENSBORO NC. THEY HAVE REPLACED THE BATTERY TWICE AND IT HAS BEEN INTO THEIR SERVICE DEPARTMENT FOR A DEAD BATTERY 5 TIMES AS OF 3/30/21. WE DID HAVE ANOTHER DEAD BATTERY LAST WEEK AND HAVE NOT SCHEDULED ANOTHER APPT.
THE CAR IS STALLING FROM TAKING OFF FROM A STOP. IT'S HAS BEEN DETERMINED THERE IS FUEL GETTING INTO THE OIL PAN CAUSING THE ENGINE TO STALL AT TIMES, MAKING MERGING INTO TRAFFIC UNSAFE.
MY HONDA 2017 CRV WAS PARKED ALL NIGHT.WHEN I WENT OUT THIS MORNING ALL THE WINDOWS AND THE SUN ROOF WERE OPEN.WY KEY FOB WAS ON A TABLE BY ITSELF AND MY WIFE'S. WAS IN HER PURSE.I WAS OUTSIDE AT MIDNIGHT AND ALL WAS OK.ON THE INTERNET I FOUND THAT I WAS NOT ALONE AND HONDA WILL NOT ACKNOWLEDGE THE PROBLEM.MY SEATS AND CONSUL WERE VERY WET.THIS COULD LEAD TO THEFT AND A LOT OF DAMAGE.PLEASE CONTACT HONDA AS CONSUMERS COMPLAINTS GO UNANSWERED. THE ENGINE OIL CONSTANTLY FILLS WITH GASOLINE, RAISING THE FLUID LEVEL MUCH, MUCH HIGHER THAN THE RECOMMENDED LEVELS ON THE DIPSTICK. THE OIL VISCOSITY IS ALSO CHANGED, WHICH WILL CAUSE UNDUE ENGINE WEAR AND TEAR. THERE IS ALSO A STRONG ODOR OF GASOLINE INSIDE OF THE CABIN, ESPECIALLY WHEN THE DEFROSTER IS ON. *TR

IN COLD WEATHER, WHEN THE CAR ISN'T TO FULL OPERATING TEMPERATURE, FUEL MIXES WITH THE ENGINE OIL WHICH INCREASES THE OIL VOLUME OVER TIME. HONDA HAS ISSUED A RECALL IN NORTHERN STATES BUT REFUSES TO ADDRESS OTHER STATES WHERE THE PROBLEM EXISTS (PROBLEM FULLY DOCUMENTED FROM THE LOCAL DEALER). RECALL NEEDS TO BE EXPANDED TO ALL STATES. TOO MUCH ENGINE OIL (MIXED WITH FUEL) WILL CAUSE THE CAR TO STALL. IN ADDITION, AFTER TALKING TO HONDA CORPORATE - THEY INDICATED A POTENTIAL LONG TERM IMPACT WITH DAMAGED A CAM SHAFT. YET, THEY STILL REFUSE TO FIX MY CAR OR PROVIDE FREE OIL CHANGES UNTIL THEY DECIDE TO FIX IT. THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING ISSUE FOR OVER A YEAR - FULLY DOCUMENTED.
LAST OIL CHANGE FOUND OIL LEVEL 1/2 QUART HIGH WITH A STRONG GAS SMELL. OIL SAMPLE WAS NOT AS VISCOUS AS OIL SHOULD BE. CONTACTED DEALER BUT NO RESPONSE YET.
THIS VEHICLE WAS PURCHASE 6/25/17. SINCE DAY ONE I HAVE HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE DISPLAY INFO SCREEN. THE LATEST PROBLEM IS WITH DIALING MY CONTACTS WITHOUT ME REQUESTING. THE MULTIMEDIA ALSO CYCLES THROUGH DIFFERENT SETTINGS AND SCREENS. TWICE WARNING LABELS COME ON. RADAR OBSTRUCTED WARNING LIGHT COMES ON IN CLEAR SUNNY DAYS. HONDA CORP.SAID THEY ARE WORKING ON A SOFTWARE FIX BUT DATE FOR IT. LOCAL DEALERS NO NOTHING ABOUT THE FIX.. TO DRIVE SAFELY I HAVE TO STOP THE CAR AND SHUT IT OFF THEN RESTART. AS I WAS DRIVING IN THE FAST LANE OF THE 405 FREEWAY THE CAR STARTED TO VIBRATE AND MAKE A LOT OF NOISE. THEN IT SLOWED DOWN AND WOULD NOT ACCELERATE AT A NORMAL RATE. I WENT FROM 65 MPH TO ABOUT 30MPH AND BARELY AVOIDED FASTER CARS WHILE PULLING TO THE EXIT LANE. I WAS ABLE TO TAKE SURFACE STREETS HOME. I THOUGHT IT MIGHT BE A BLOWN HEAD GASKET SO I CHECKED THE OIL FOR WATER AND FOUND A LOT OF GAS IN IT. THE DIPSTICK SHOWED THE LEVEL TO BE ALMOST 1 1/4 INCHES ABOVE THE MAX LEVEL LINE EVEN AFTER LETTING IT SIT FOR 30 MINUTES. WHEN I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP THEY SAID THAT THIS IS NORMAL AND SAID THE MANUFACTURER SAID ALL I NEED IS AN OIL CHANGE.
THE PLASTIC SHIFT KNOB BUTTON POPPED OUT OF THE SHIFTER HANDLE WHILE THE CAR WAS RUNNING AND IN GEAR. I COULD NOT STOP THE ENGINE OR SHIFT GEARS. FORTUNATELY, I WAS ABLE TO LOCATE THE PLASTIC BUTTON FROM THE FLOOR OF THE CAR WITH MY LEFT HAND AND INSERT IT LOOSLEY INTO THE SHIFTER HANDLE AND THEN PUT THE CAR INTO PARK AND TURN THE ENGINE OFF.
CHECKED MY OIL LEVEL IT WAS ABOVE THE MAX LEVEL. THE OIL INDICATOR SAYS WE HAVE 10% OIL LIFE. AND THE OIL SMELLS LIKE GASOLINE. WENT TO THE DEALER THEY SAID IT'S NOT A PROBLEM. THEY GAVE US A SPEECH THAT IT'S NORMAL TO HAVE GAS THAT LEAKS TO THE OIL AND IT WILL EVAPORATE. OUR OTHER CARS DOESN'T. IT HASN'T AFFECTED THE CAR YET BUT JUST CONCERN THAT SOMETHING WILL HAPPEN WHILE I'M DRIVING.
VERY STRONG CONTINUOUS SMELL OF GASOLINE INSIDE THE CAR COMING FROM THE FRONT ENGINE AREA OF THE CAR WHEN STARTING IT AND THE SMELL CIRCULATES IN THE CAR WHILE DRIVING IT. ALSO SMELL GAS FROM THE CAR FOR A LONG WHILE, AFTER PARKING IT IN MY ENCLOSED GARAGE. THIS IS A SERIOUS HEALTH, SAFETY AND EVIRONMENTAL ISSUE. THE SMELL MAKES ME NAUSEOUS. JUST BOUGHT THIS 2017 HONDA CRV THREE MONTHS AGO, TOOK THIS VEHICLE BACK TO DEALER, HE SAID THEHONDA FACTORY DOESN'T HAVE ANY FIXES FOR THIS ISSUE. UNTRUE PER DATA FOUND ONLINE WHICH STATES THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN TAKEN CARE OF PER A RECALL OF THESE VEHICLES IN CANADA AND FOR SOME STATES BUT NOT YET IN ALL USA STATES, INCLUDING MY STATE. I HOPE THIS VEHICLE IS RECALLED AND THE ISSUE FIXED VERY SOON FOR OUR HEALTH AND SAFETY.
MY 2017 HONDA CRV HAS FUEL IN THE OIL, CONFIRMED BY DEALERSHIP. THE LAST TIME I HAD IT TO DEALERSHIP THEY CONFIRMED IT HAD 2 QUARTS OF FUEL IN THE CRANKCASE OIL . THIS IS A HAZARD BECAUSE THE ENGINE COULD OVERHEAT AND LOCK UP AS I DRIVE, WHICH COULD LEAD TO AN ACCIDENT. THIS ALSO LOWERS THE VALUE OF MY CAR. THE DEALERSHIP CAN'T FIX IT! I HAVE DRIVEN THE CAR APPROXIMATELY 800 MILES SINCE LAST OIL CHANGE . IT IS CURRENTLY A QUART HIGH ON DIPSTICK AND OIL SMELLS OF FUEL.
UPON SEEING ALL OF THE COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE 1.5 LITER TURBO ENGINE IN THE CR-V'S AND CIVICS, I INSPECTED THE OIL IN MY 2017 HONDA CR-V ONLY 100 MILES AFTER IT WAS CHANGED BY THE LOCAL HONDA DEALER. I PULLED OUT THE DIPSTICK AND NOTICED THAT THE OIL LEVEL WAS OVER THE RECOMMENDED LIMIT AND IT WAS VERY DARK IN COLOR. I LEANED INTO THE ENGINE AND NOTICED A STRONG PRESENCE OF A GASOLINE SMELL. I HAVE ALSO NOTICED THE PRESENCE OF THIS SMELL BEFORE INSIDE OF THE CABIN BUT I THOUGHT IT COULD BE FROM SOMETHING ELSE. I AM CONVINCED IT'S COMING FROM THE ENGINE. HONDA NEEDS TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS.
THE SHIFTER KNOB, HONDA PART NO. HONDA 54132TLAA62ZB, FELL OFF DURING USE. THIS LOCKS THE TRANSMISSION IN WHATEVER GEAR WAS LAST USED - A POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. THE HERITAGE HONDA SERVICE ADVISOR TELLS ME THAT HONDA IS EXPERIENCING A LOT OF THESE FAILURES.
WHEN I GOT INTO CAR IN SHOPPING PLAZA PARKING LOT I ATTEMPTED TO PUT MY VEHICLE IN REVERSE AT WHICH TIME AND THE GEAR SHIFTER KNOB FELL OUT AND CRUMBLED INTO PIECES. NOT ABLE TO MOVE VEHICLE NOR PUT IN PARK. AFTER INSPECTING TEMPORARILY PUT PIECE IN WHICH ENABLED ME TO GET HOME. WHILE DRIVING FELT VERY UNSAFE NOT KNOWING IF IT WOULD REMAIN IN GEAR. ONCE HOME UNABLE TO PUT IN PARK. LUCKILY VEHICLE HAS BUTTON BRAKE SYSTEM WHICH ENABLED ME TO PUT BRAKES ON AND GET HUSBAND'S HELP. HE TEMPORARILY ENABLED VEHICLE INTO PARK AFTER WHICH VEHICLE ALTHOUGH IN PARK NEVER FULLY TURNED OFF. DUE TO CHRISTMAS COULD NOT GET TO DEALER TIL TODAY. BATTERY DEAD. CHARGED, TOOK TO DEALER REPLACED WITHOUT COMMENT. AFTER GOOGLING, THIS APPEARS TO BE AN ONGOING ISSUE FOR A NUMBER OF YEARS. I BELIEVE THIS COULD CAUSE DANGEROUS SITUATIONS. I PERSONALLY WAS VERY DISTRESSED. THIS HAS NOT BEEN A RECALL ISSUE. I DEFINITELY BELIEVE IT SHOULD.
THE HONDA CR-V 2017 TOURING MODEL HAS EXPERIENCED SEVERAL KEYLESS REMOTE TRANSMITTER ERROR MESSAGES ON THE DASHBOARD DISPLAY. THE LAST TIME THIS PROBLEM HAPPENED WAS ON DECEMBER 24, 2018 AT AROUND 5:00 PM AND THE ENGINE WOULD NOT STOP RUNNING. WITH THE VEHICLE IN PARK I PUSHED THE START/STOP BUTTON REPEATEDLY WITH MY FOOT ON AND OFF THE BRAKE PEDAL. THE ONLY WAY I COULD GET TNE ENGINE TO STOP RUNNING WAS TO WALK AWAY FROM THE VEHICLE WITH THE KEYLESS REMOTE TRANSMITTER AND HAVE THE PASSENGER PUSH THE START/STOP BUTTON. I TOOK THE VEHICLE INTO THE HONDA DEALER ON DECEMBER 26, 2018 AND THEY SAID - "NO PROBLEM FOUND AT THIS TIME". THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY THE ENTIRE TIME OF THIS INCIDENT.
DILUTION OF ENGINE OIL, WHICH HAS BEEN INFILTRATED BY GASOLINE. LOW POWER IN DRIVING. STRONG SMELL OF GASOLINE IN THE CABIN. VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION AT FIRST DETECTION OF GASOLINE SMELL.

THE CONTACT WAS REFERRED TO THE BRIDGESTONE MANUFACTURER. THE TIRES WERE NOT REPLACED. THE TIRE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE TIRE AND VEHICLE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 26,000.

HAD THE FIRST OIL CHANGED AT 5,658 MILES IN OCTOBER, 2018. MENTIONED THE FUEL IN OIL ISSUE WITH 1.5 LITER TURBO ENGINES (PER CONSUMER REPORTS) TO SERVICE REP AT ANNAPOLIS HONDA. HE CLAIMED TO HAVE NEVER HEARD OF IT. CHECKED MY OIL TODAY (12/21/18, 7,600 MILES), OIL LEVEL IS ELEVATED APPROX. 1/2 INCH ABOVE THE FILL LINE FROM OCTOBER WITH STRONG GASOLINE SMELL IN THE OIL. HONDA CLAIMS TO HAVE A FIX FOR THIS BUT WILL ONLY ROLL IT OUT IN NORTHERN TIER STATES IN THE US. PROBLEM IS MUCH MORE WIDESPREAD AND NEEDS TO BE IMPLEMENTED NATIONALLY. THE LOCKOUT BUTTON ON THE SIDE OF THE TRANSMISSION SHIFT LEVER POPPED OFF, PREVENTING THE VEHICLE FROM SHIFTING OUT OF PARK. THIS CAN OBVIOUSLY CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO BE DISABLED. THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN AT THE HONDA DEALERSHIP SAID THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH 2017-2018 HONDA CR-VS, BUT I COULDN'T FIND A RECALL FOR IT.

ONE OF THE BUTTONS ON THE SHIFT HANDLE BROKE APART. CAR COULD NOT BE SHIFTED INTO PARK OR REVERSE, ONLY INTO DRIVE1 AND DRIVE 2. ENGINE COULD BE TURNED OFF BUT NOT THE ACCESSORIES THEREBY CAUSING BATTERY FAILURE. CAR WAS BEING PARKED IN A PARKING LOT. TOWING COMPANY AND DEALER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE STATED THIS HAS OCCURRED BEFORE.
ACC AND LKAS WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. TOOK TO DEALERSHIP, THEY WASHED THE CAR AND SAID THE PROBLEM WAS LEAVES BLOCKING SENSOR. NEXT TIME I STARTED THE CAR, GOT STEADY CHIME FROM DASH TELLING ME THERE WAS AN ACC PROBLEM. CONSISTENT ISSUE. THERE WERE NO ACCIDENTS, DAMAGES AND IT WAS A CLEAR, BRIGHT DAY IN BOTH CASES.
THE GEAR SHIFT BUTTON MECHANISM BROKE AS I WAS PARKING WHEN MY CAR ONLY HAD 5,312 MILES ON IT. THIS IS A DANGEROUS SAFETY HAZARD AS THE GEAR SHIFT BUTTON MECHANISM BROKE WITHOUT WARNING AND CAN MAKE IT SO ONE IS UNABLE TO SHIFT. THE HONDA DEALER AT OCEAN HONDA IN NORTH HOLLYWOOD, CA, REPLACED THE GEAR SHIFT BUTTON 12/17/18 BUT IT IS NOT SHIFTING SMOOTHLY NOW WHEN I PUT THE CAR IN REVERSE.

IF I START THE CAR WITH THE BRAKE OFF, THEN THE DISPLAY SEEMS TO COME UP (I START CAR, WITH BRAKE ON, IN GARAGE, DISPLSY DOES NOT COME UP, I RELEASE BRAKE, THEN SHUT DOWN THE CAR. I THEN RESTART IT, BRAKE IS STILL OFF, AND THEN THE GAS MILLEAGE DISPLAY COMES ON, THEN NOTIFICATION ABOUT ROAD MITIGATION; THEN ROAD MITIGATION DISAPPEARS, AND THE MILEAGE AND FUEL DISPLAY REMAINS ON) MY CONCERN IS WHETHER THIS REFLECTS OTHER SMOLDERING COMPUTER ISSUES THAT COULD AFFECT THE SAFETY OF THE CAR. I HAVE REPORTED THIS TO HONDA IN LATE 2018, BUT ALL THEY SUGGESTED WAS TAKING THIS TO A REPAIR SHOP TO LET THEM LOOK AT IT. THIS TIME IT SEEMED TO START AFTER I HAD CONNECTED A PHONE TO THE ANDROID SYSTEM THROUGH THE SMART CABLE, BUT AFTER DISCONNECTING THE PHONE, THE ISSUE PERSISTS. *DT*JB
RADIO LOCKS UP AND THEN INDICATOR LIGHTS ON DASH FLASH - BRAKE FAILURE, VSA FAILURE, TPMS FAILURE, LDW FAILURE, ACC FAILURE, LKAS FAILURE, CMBS FAILURE. HAD IT AT HONDA SERVICE TWO TIMES AND THEY REINSTALLED SOFTWARE AND DID A HARD REBOOT. ISSUE REARED ITS HEAD AGAIN DEC 14, TOOK TO HONDA SERVICE WITH LIGHTS FLASHING FOR A COMPUTER READ. SERVICE SCHEDULED FOR DEC 19 TO LOOK INTO ISSUES AND PERFORM RECALL REPAIR. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAS BEEN ON SINCE I TOOK IT IN DEC 14. CAR SEEMS TO RUN FINE EVEN WITH INDICATOR LIGHTS FLASHING. ISSUE HAPPENED FIRST TIME WHILE ON INTERSTATE GOING 70 MPH. SECONG TIME ON BACKROAD GOING 45 MPH.
