DRIVER SEATBELT LOCKED IN RETRACTED POSITION. HAD TO BE REPLACED BY DEALER. (OCCURRED WHILE STOPPED AND PARKED (OF COURSE)).
MY CAR HAS A STRONG SMELL OF GAS ON THE DIP STICK AND IT IS OVER THE FULL MARK. I HAVE ALREADY TAKEN MY CR-V TO THE DEALERSHIP I PURCHASED MY CAR AT. THEY RECOGNIZE THE GAS SMELL AND OVER FULL MARK. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT CHANGED THE OIL DECEMBER 12TH. 2018 TODAY IS DECEMBER 24TH 2018. I CHECKED THE OIL WHEN THE CAR WAS COLD AND ON A FLAT SURFACE AND THE DIP STICK SHOWS OVERFILL AND HAS A STRONG SMELL OF GAS.
AFTER NOTICING A STRONG SMELL OF GASOLINE IN THE CABIN, I CHECKED THE OIL LEVEL AND FOUND THE DIPSTICK INDICATED THE OIL LEVEL WAS ABOUT 1/2-1 QUART TOO HIGH. SINCE I HAD THE OIL CHANGE BY A DEALER ABOUT 2500 MILE BACK AND I HAD CHECKED THE OIL LEVEL AFTER THE OIL CHANGE, I FOUND THIS OIL LEVEL READING PUZZLING. THEN I SMELLED THE DIPSTICK AND NOTICE A STRONG GASOLINE ODOR FROM THE OIL. I AM NOW WORRIED ABOUT THE HAZARD OF GASOLINE VAPOR EXPOSURE AND THE WEAR EFFECTS OF DILUTED ENGINE OIL. THERE ALSO MAY BE AN INCREASED ENGINE FIRE HAZARD.
THE "INFOTAINMENT" OR NAVIGATION SCREEN MALFUNCTIONS AND TURNS ITSELF OFF. THIS RESULTS IN LOSS HEATING AND COOLING CONTROLS AS WELL AS OTHER IMPORTANT SAFETY FUNCTIONS.
THE SHIFTER LOCK BUTTON CAME OUT OF THE SHIFTER HANDLE. THE VEHICLE HAD APPROXIMATELY 59500 MILES ON THE ODOMETER. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY, I HAD JUST SHIFTED INTO REVERSE. I HAVE THE BUTTON TEMPORARILY HELD IN WITH A RUBBER BAND. I HAVE A REPAIR APPOINTMENT WITH THE HONDA DEALER FOR THURSDAY, DECEMBER 20, 2018. WHEN I WENT IN TO MAKE THE APPOINTMENT, THE DEALER SERVICE ADVISOR TOLD ME THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM AND THAT THEY ARE KEEPING THE PARTS IN STOCK. ALONG WITH MY GAS IN THE OIL TANK ISSUE, THE CAR DOES NOT HEAT UP ANY LONGER. IT WAS 37 DEGREES HERE IN NY AND MY CAR IS ONLY OUTPUTTING COLD AIR. I'VE TAKEN MY VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP ALREADY AND THEY COULD NOT FIX EITHER ISSUE. I AM EXTREMELY FRUSTRATED.
THE GEAR SHIFT BUTTON IS BROKEN. SEARCHED ONLINE THAT THEY ARE ALL 2017 CRVS. MY CASE IS EVEN WORSE THAT ONE BROKEN PART GETS STUCK INSIDE AND I CAN'T SHIFT IT FROM D TO P. WE SUCCESSFULLY TURNED OFF THE ENGINE. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS WHEN IT'S BROKEN WHEN DRIVING.
FUEL IS MIXING IN WITH THE OIL, CAR IS MUCH MORE SLUGGISH, NOTICING GAS SMELL IN THE CABIN (THAT CANT BE HEALTHY!!)
GAS DRIPPING INTO OIL PAN CAUSING OIL DILUTION AND OVERFILLING OF OIL TANK. TOOK MY HONDA CRV TO WEST COUNTY HONDA, ELLISVILLE. THEY CHANGED THE OIL, BUT DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM
OIL IS CONTAMINATED WITH GASOLINE AT A CONCENTRATION OF 4.8% AND FLASHPOINT OF 290 DEGREES. SMELL OF GASOLINE IN ENGINE OIL. ENGINE OIL HAS BEEN CHANGED TWICE ACCORDING TO VEHICLE SPECIFICATIONS. VEHICLE IS NOT LOCATED IN A STATE WHERE HONDA IS PROVIDING FIXES FOR THE ISSUE, EG REPROGRAMMING COMPUTER AND HVAC CONTROL UNIT.
WHILE DRIVING MY '17 HONDA CR-V EX, IT SUDDENLY SPUTTERED, STARTED LOSING POWER & WOULDN'T LET ME ACCELERATE OVER 10MPH. MALFUNCTION INDICATOR STARTED BLINKING. I WAS IN 4 LANES OF TRAFFIC WITH NO PLACE TO PULL OVER. I PUT FLASHERS ON & CARS DROVE AROUND ME. I GOT TO A SIDE ST & THE MANUAL SAID IF INDICATOR IS BLINKING, IT'S A MISFIRE IN ENGINE'S CYLINDERS & TO WAIT FOR ENGINE TO COOL DOWN. I SAT FOR 40 MINS & MADE IT BACK HOME CLOSE BY & CALLED HONDA ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE WHO TOWED IT TO HONDA NEW ROCHELLE. I CAN'T REMEMBER BEING THAT FRIGHTENED DRIVING. WHEN BOB FROM HONDA NR CALLED HE SAID MY CAR HAS TOO MUCH OIL, ABOVE TOP OF DIPSTICK & IT'S THE FAULT OF THE PERSON WHO CHANGED THE OIL (ON OCT. 30, 5 WKS EARLIER). COMPLAINTS LISTED IN 2 10/2018 CONSUMER REPORT ARTICLES (BELOW) RE '17 HONDA CR-V EX STATE GAS IS MIXING WITH THE OIL & OIL LEVEL SOMETIMES RISES ABOVE FULL LEVEL ON DIPSTICK. BOB SAID HE KNEW ALL ABOUT THE CR ARTICLES. HONDA CHARGED ME $213.99 FOR DIAGNOSTICS & TO CHANGE THE OIL. HE SAID THAT WAS MY CHOICE OR I COULD HAVE THE CAR TOWED SOMEWHERE ELSE. MY CAR HAS APPROX 4,600 MILES ON IT. MY 2 SISTERS HAVE THIS SAME CAR & WE OFTEN HAVE CHILDREN IN IT. WE'RE PETRIFIED NOW ABOUT SUDDENLY LOSING ACCELERATION. MY CAR IS HAVING ELECTRICAL ISSUES WITH THE HONDA SENSING. BRAKING ON ITS OWN AT RANDOM TIMES AT VARIOUS RATES OF SPEED. THE MOST SERIOUS ON THE HIGHWAY AT SPEED OF ABOUT 75 MPH. THE CAR SHUT DOWN AND THE COMPUTER SYSTEMS HAD ALL KINDS OF CODES OF SYSTEM FAILURES. ALSO NOW WE ARE HAVING AN ISSUE OF OIL DILUTION DUE TO GASOLINE. MY OIL WAS CHANGED A FEW DAYS LATER STILL OVER THE FULL LINE AND FUMES OF GAS EVIDENT. TALKING WITH HONDA DEALERSHIP CURRENTLY WHERE PURCHASED AND HONDA CORPORATE CASE WAS FILED. SO FAR THEY ARE DOWN PLAYING IT IN TEXAS DISPITE NUMEROUS CONSUMER COMPLAINTS AND COMMONALITY OF ISSUE BEING REPORTED AT THE DEALERSHIP LEVEL.
THE CAR WAS NOT IN MOTION. IT IS WINTER IN MICHIGAN. WHEN CHECKING THE OIL DIPSTICK THE LEVEL OF OIL ON THE STICK WAS HIGH AND SMELLED STRONGLY OF GASOLINE. HAVING HEARD OFTEN OF THIS ISSUE WITH THE 2017 TURBO CRV, I NOW UNDERSTAND IT TO BE THAT GASOLINE IS LEAKING INTO MY OIL AND COULD CAUSE STALLING WHILE DRIVING. I HOPE THAT HONDA WILL ADDRESS THIS ISSUE SOON AND RECALL ITS US CRV'S FOR REPAIR QUICKLY.
ON 12-5-2018 I STARTED SMELLING GAS FUMES IN AND AROUND THE VEHICLE, WHILE DRIVING OR PARKED. CONTACTED DEALERSHIP 12-7-2018, SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT AND WENT IN TODAY. THEY ARE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM BUT SAID ALL THEY CAN DO IS CHANGE THE OIL AS THEY DON'T HAVE A FIX FOR THE PROBLEM OF FUEL GETTING INTO OIL ON MY 1.5 TURBO. (THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN GOING ON SINCE 2015 BASED ON DOCUMENTATION FOUND ON THE INTERNET.) WHEN I GOT READY TO LEAVE THE DEALERSHIP THE GAS SMELL STARTED UP AGAIN SO THE OIL CHANGE DOESN'T APPEAR TO HAVE HELPED. SINCE THIS HAS STARTED I'VE ALSO STARTED GETTING HEADACHES WHEN I DRIVE MY VEHICLE. I'M ALSO CONCERNED THAT MY VEHICLE COULD CATCH FIRE OR BREAKDOWN. I'M NOT SURE WHAT ELSE TO DO.
WINDSHIELD CRACKED BY CHANGING TEMPERATURES.. GLASS DEALER SAID WINDSHIELD GLASS CRACKED UNDER BODY STRESS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 HONDA CR-V. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT ISSUED ANY AIR BAG RECALLS OR TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETINS. HONDA CITY (501 GRUMMAN RD W, BETHPAGE, NY 11714, (516) 717-4766) INDICATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT COVERED BY A WARRANTY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
I SMELL GASOLINE IN THE CABIN WHILE DRIVING. I'M REALLY CONCERNED BECAUSE I HAVE MY 2 YEAR-OLD SON IN THE CAR WITH ME MOST OF THE TIME. THAT'S GOING TO CAUSE SOME HEALTH ISSUES. THE OIL LEVEL SHOWN ON THE DIP STICK IS ALWAYS HIGH AND HAS HEAVILY GAS SMELL WHEN DIP STICK IS PULLED OUT OF ENGINE.

GASOLINE ENTERS ENGINE OIL CAUSING IT OVERFILLS AND FAR EXCEEDING THE MAX MARK. ENGINE OIL ALSO HAS A STRONG SMELL OF GASOLINE. IT MAY CAUSE LONG TERM DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE WITH ENGINE OIL DILUTED.

GEAR SHIFT BUTTON BREAKS. DOES NOT LET YOU SHIFT BACK INTO PARK. LEAVES STUCK IN THE POSITION THAT THE BUTTON BROKE IN. MANY COMPLAINTS ON YOU TUBE, DANGEROUS PROBLEM, CAR SHOULD BE RECALLED.
THE PROBLEM THAT WE ARE EXPERIENCING ON AND OFF FOR MORE THAN 1 YEAR WHILE DRIVING THE CAR IS WARNING LIGHTS ALL COMING UP AND DISABLING THE KEY SAFETY FEATURES: BRAKE SYSTEM FAILURE, LANE KEEPING ASSIST PROBLEM, COLLISION MITIGATION SYSTEM PROBLEM, ROAD DEPARTURE MITIGATION SYSTEM PROBLEM, AND ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL PROBLEM. THIS HAPPEN AT NORMAL CITY DRIVING, FREEWAY DRIVING, WITH CRUISE CONTROL ON AND/OR WITH CRUISE CONTROL OFF. THE CAR IS STILL OPERATIONAL BUT WITH WARNING LIGHTS. WHEN YOU TURN OFF THE CAR, AND RESTART THE ISSUES MAY OR MAY NOT GO AWAY. WHEN IT DOES GO AWAY, IT WILL RANDOMLY OCCUR AGAIN. THIS PROBLEM HAPPEN WHEN WE HAD THE CAR FOR 3 DAY OLD AFTER BUYING IT BRAND NEW AND TOOK IT BACK TO DEALER AND THEY LOOK AT IT AND DID A SOFTWARE INSTALL. BUT, IT NEVER CORRECTED THE PROBLEM. WE HAVE LIVE WITH THIS ISSUES FOR MORE THAN A YEAR NOW AND ARE NOW FED UP. WE ARE FRUSTRATE OF THE THOUGHT OF BRINGING IT TO THE DEALER AND HAVING THE SAME THING HAPPEN TO US AGAIN.
GAS DILUTION OIL, CAR SMELLS GAS INSIDE, HONDA DON'T CARE ABOUT
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 HONDA CR-V. WHEN THE CONTACT CHECKED THE OIL, THE DIPSTICK HAD A FUEL ODOR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO GOUDY HONDA (1400 W MAIN ST, ALHAMBRA, CA 91801, 626-576-1114) TO BE DIAGNOSED, BUT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. MY 2017 HONDA CR-V HAS A STRONG FUEL ODOR COMING FROM THE ENGINE OIL DIPSTICK. ALSO, THE OIL LEVEL RISES ABOVE THE FULL MARK INDICATOR ON THE DIPSTICK. A FUEL ODOR COMING FROM THE VENTS WHEN THE HEATER IS ON. ALSO, HEATER DOESN'T APPROPRIATELY HEAT UP THE CABIN. CONSEQUENTLY, I TOOK MY CAR TO A HONDA DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME THEY WERE UNAWARE OF THIS BEING A PROBLEM. THEY RAN A DIAGNOSTICS ON THE CAR AND TOLD ME TO COME BACK WHEN NEXT OIL CHANGE IS DUE. AFTER RESEARCHING THIS FUEL ODOR PROBLEM ON THE INTERNET, I DISCOVERED THAT THIS ISSUE WAS A RESULT OF GASOLINE LEAKING INTO THE ENGINE OIL COMPARTMENT. THIS PROBLEM IS CALLED OIL DILUTION AND IT CAUSES THE CAR TO STALL UNEXPECTEDLY. THIS MAY HAPPEN ON THE HIGHWAY AND RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH WHEN TRAVELING AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED. ALSO, IT IS HAZARDOUS TO BE INHALING GASOLINE FINES COMING FROM THE VENTS. NOT TO MENTION THE DAMAGE IT'S CAUSING TO THE ENGINE ITSELF. HONDA HASN'T TAKEN ANY ACTION TO FIX THIS SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD.
OIL DILUTION FROM FUEL
OIL DILUTED WITH FUEL, OVER FULL. STRONG FUEL ODOR IN VEHICLE.
The contact owns a 2017 Honda CR-V. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the brakes independently engaged. The braking assist warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer where the software was updated, uninstalled, and reinstalled. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the dealer for additional diagnostic testing. The failure mileage was approximately 10,000.
I HAVE PURCHASED 2017 MODEL HONDA NEW CRV EX-L WITH NAVIGATION IN OCTOBER 2017 IN TENNESSEE. FROM THE LAST 1 YEAR I AM HAVING A MAJOR PROBLEM WHICH IS EFFECTING MY HEALTH AND MY FAMILY HEALTH. FROM ALMOST 10 MONTHS, I HAVE THIS PROBLEM. PROBLEM: WHENEVER I SWITCH ON THE AC OR FAN OR HEAT, I HAVE A VERY BAD ENGINE SMELL/ OIL SMELL. I AM UNABLE TO BREATH IN THE CAR, I HAVE BURNING SENSATION IN MY EYES. I VOMITED COUPLE OF TIME BECAUSE OF THIS SMELL. MY WIFE AND MY 5 YEAR OLD SON ALSO FEELS THE SAME . ITS AFFECTING THEIR HEALTH AS WELL. I HAVE TAKEN MY CAR TO ODONELL HONDA SERVICE CENTER LOCATED AT 21043 THREE TIMES AND THEY JUST KEEP FOOLING ME SAYING THAT THERE IS NO PROBLEM IN THE CAR AND THEY CANT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. THEY WERE USELESS, UNPROFESSIONAL PEOPLE WHO DOES NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO. THEY BEHAVED VERY BAD AS WELL. AND ALWAYS GAVE LAME EXCUSES. THEN I TOOK MY CAR TO HONDA SERVICE CENTER AT OWING MILLS, MD. THEY WERE NICE ENOUGH TO CHECK MY CAR AND THEY FOUND TWO ISSUES WITH THE CAR AND FIXED IT AND PROMISED THAT I WILL NOT HAVE ANY ISSUES. BUT WITH IN A WEEK I AM HAVING THE SAME ISSUES. I AM HELPLESS NOW.I CANT DRIVE MY CAR BECAUSE I CANT BREATHE IN THAT SMELL. ITS AFFECTING MY HEALTH. I CANT GO AGAIN AND AGAIN TO DEALER SHOP TO GET MY CAR FIXED. I AM WRITING TO YOU SO THAT IF YOU CAN HELP ME BEFORE I TAKE THIS MATTER TO PUBLIC AND FIGHT LEGALLY. IF SOMETHING HAPPENS TO ME OR MY FAMILY - WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THAT. I SMELL GASOLINE AND CHECKED THE OIL ON SEVERAL OCCASION. THE GAS FUMES CAME FROM THE OIL CHECK, GAS IN OIL. I BROUGHT TO COVINGTON LA HONDA DEALER TODAY 11-29-2018 AND THE ADVISED ME THAT IT IS WORKING AS DESIGNED, AND NO PROBLEM WAS FOUND AT THIS TIME. I AM CONCERNED FOR SAFETY REASONS, FIRE AND CAR STALLING, AS WELL AS THE FACT THAT THERE IS A RECALL ON THIS BUT NOT IN MY AREA.

THE CONTACT CALLED VALLEY HI HONDA AT (760) 962-9600 (LOCATED AT 15710 VALLEY PARK LN, VICTORVILLE, CA 92394) AND WAS INFORMED TO HAVE THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE SHOP. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE SAME DEALER WHERE IT DIAGNOSED THAT THE MASS AIR FLOW WAS HIGH. THE TECHNICIAN ADDED FUEL CONDITIONER, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE SAME DEALER WHERE THE TECHNICIAN CHANGED THE OIL AND UPDATED THE COMPUTER SYSTEM. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 47,100.

MY 2017 HONDA CRV EX 1.5 LTR TURBO ENGINE HAS AN OIL DELUTION ISSUE FUEL IS GETTING INTO THE CRANKCASE DELUTING THE OIL TOOK IT TO THE DEALER ALL THEY DID WAS CHANGE THE OIL I CONTACTED HONDA GOT A CASE NUMBER#09145359 THEY SAID SOMEONE WOULD CALL ME ABOUT THE ISSUE. NO ONE HAS CALLED AT THIS TIME NOV 26TH 2018
IST OIL/FILTER CHANGE BY DEALER AT 4K MILES ALL APPEARED TO BE NORMAL. 2ND OIL/FILTER CHANGE BY DEALER AT 8K MILES OIL LEVEL WAS EXCESSIVELY HIGH OVER DIPSTICK MAX FILL MARK BY 1/2 INCH AND OIL DIPSTICK HAD INTENSE GASOLINE SMELL AND OIL VISCOSITY WAS EXTREMELY LOW. DEALER SAYS HONDA IS INVESTIGATING AN 'OIL DILUTION' ISSUE WITH THIS ENGINE TYPE.

SHIFTER BUTTON POPPED OUT WHILE DRIVING/VEHICLE IN MOTION. DEALER INDICATED A FREQUENT ISSUE BUT NO HONDA RECALL.
I NOTICED A GAS SMELL IN MY CABIN OF THE CAR AND CHECKED THE OIL AND NOTICED A GAS SMELL THERE TOO. I LOOKED IT UP ONLINE AND THERE ARE A NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS OF THIS ISSUE BUT NO RECALLS FROM HONDA. I AM TRYING TO GET AN APPOINTMENT, BUT IT'S BEEN DIFFICULT.
EXCESSIVE OIL IN SUMP. ROOT CAUSE IS FUEL MIXED WITH OIL.
ON 11/24/2018 ON I-81 NEAR STAUNTON VA. DURING HEAVY RAIN AND HOLIDAY TRAFFIC AT 70 MPH IN LEFT LANE PASSING TANDEM 18 WHEELER ON INCLINE WITH 18 WHEELER CLOSE BEHIND CAR SUDDENLY ENTERED "LIMP" MODE. CAR BEGAN MISSING BADLY WITH NO POWER AND BEGAN SLOWING TO A DRIFT. COULD NOT MOVE RIGHT, PULLED AS FAR LEFT TO GUARD RAIL, RIGHT SIDE CAR WHEELS STILL IN PASSING LANE, TRAFFIC SWERVED AROUND THE CAR. AT APROX. 10 MPH I HAD A SLIGHT BREAK IN TRAFFIC AND WAS ABLE SWERVE ACROSS TRAFFIC TO RIGHT SIDE. SURPRISINGLY THE CAR IDLED FINE. BACKED DOWN RIGHT SIDE 1/4 MILE TO EXIT, DROVE IN "LIMP" MODE TO HONDA DEALER. THE DEALER HAD FOUND THE CAR HAD ENTER LIMP MODE BECAUSE WATER HAD ENTERED INTO THE MAF SENSOR AND INTAKE TUBE. THE AIR BOX HAD NOT BEEN PROPERLY SEALED LIKELY DURING A DEALER SERVICE 1 WEEK PRIOR. THE AIR FILTER WAS WET AND REPLACED. INTAKE TUBE AND MAF SENSOR PULLED AND DRIED. MY ISSUE IN WRITING THIS IS THE CAR SHOULD NOT ENTER "LIMP" MODE AND CUT POWER JUST BECAUSE A SENSOR REPORTS IN BAD. CARS ARE DESIGNED TO CRUMPLE TO ABSORB IMPACT AND SAVE THE DRIVERS BUT YET HERE "LIMP" MODE IS DESIGNED TO SAVE THE EQUIPMENT ACTUALLY PUTS THE OCCUPANTS AND IN MY CASE OTHERS ON A CROWDED INTESTATE HIGHWAY AT RISK. A CAR SHOULD NEVER BE DESIGNED TO PUT ITS PASSENGERS AND THOSE AROUND THEM AT RISK AS THIS CRV DID IN MY CASE. LIMP MODE IS A VERY VERY BAD IDEA.
ENGINE OIL LEVEL ABOVE FILL MARK AND HAS STRONG SMELL OF GAS. TYPICALLY DRIVING. CABIN TEMP IS BELOW WHAT I AM ACCUSTOMED AND ENGINE WILL NOT WARM-UP QUICKLY IN COLD WEATHER. CONSUMER REPORTS HAS A REPORT THAT SEEMS TO MATCH MY CONCERNS. SUPPOSEDLY HONDA HAS A FIX, BUT DEALER SAID NO FOR MY VIN.
I BOUGHT THIS CAR APRIL OF 2017 AND I ALREADY HAVE A ELECTRICAL PROBLEM AFTER A MONTH. WE WENT FOR A VACATION AND AS WE WENT BACK, MY CAR IS NOT STARTING ANYMORE. I REPORTED THIS TO PERFECTION HONDA AND THEY TOLD ME THAT MY BATTERY IS IN 100 PERCENT OK. LAST THANKSGIVING (2018) IT DID THE SAME THING. THE BIGGEST ONE IS ENGINE OIL SMELLS GAS ON IT. I TRIED TO REPORT THIS TO PERFECTION HONDA, ALBUQUERQUE NEW MEXICO BUT REASONED OUT THAT THERE ARE NO RECALLS FOR THIS CAR. I'M NOT RECOMMENDING CRV EX AND UPPER MODELS TO ANY CONSUMER SAME WITH PERFECTION HONDA FOR POOR SERVICE QUALITY.
MY 2017 CR-V EX-L HAS THE OIL DILUTION ISSUE. CURRENTLY READING 1.5 INCHES HIGHER THAN THE MAX FILL LINE ON THE DIPSTICK. VEHICLE SMELLS SO BAD...LIKE SULFUR SMELL OR GAS. IT IS AN OVERPOWERING SMELL AND MAKES ME NAUSEOUS. THIS CAN OCCUR AFTER IDLING FOR A FEW MINUTES, OR AFTER DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY FOR 30 MINUTES. IT IS NOT JUST A SHORT DRIVING DISTANCE ISSUE. HONDA HAS KNOWN ABOUT THIS ISSUE FOR YEARS, AND YET CONTINUES TO SELL THE VEHICLE. THEY HAVE NOT COME UP WITH A FIX THAT WORKS. TAKING IT IN TO THE DEALER TOMORROW. AFTER DRIVING THIS FOR 2 YEARS WITH THIS ISSUE, I CAN ONLY IMAGINE THE AMOUNT OF DAMAGE ON MY ENGINE. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. FUMES THAT FILL THE INSIDE OF THE VEHICLE ARE NOT HEALTHY OR SAFE. AT SOME POINT, THE OIL ISSUE COULD BE A FIRE HAZARD OR THE ENGINE COULD FAIL AT ANY MOMENT. WHY IS HONDA NOT BEING FORCED TO FIX THIS WITH A RECALL AND/OR BUY BACK THESE VEHICLES?
ENGINE OIL BEING DILUTED BY GASOLINE CONTAMINATION, OVERFILLING THE CRANKCASE. LIQUID LEVEL IS ABOVE THE MAXIMUM LEVEL PERMITTED ON THE DIPSTICK. KNOWN PROBLEM WITH 2017-2018 HONDA CR-VS. SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE IT CAN CAUSE STALLING WHILE DRIVING, THOUGH I HAVE NOT EXPERIENCED THAT YET. VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY WHEN DISCOVERED.
USER INTERFACE (UI) FOR RADIO OPERATES INCONSISTENTLY. BEGAN HAVING ISSUES WITHIN A FEW WEEKS OF OWNING THE VEHICLE. TOUCHSCREEN REPEATEDLY FREEZES, GOES BLACK, OR THE VOLUME IS UNABLE TO BE CONTROLLED. FREQUENTLY THE VOLUME WILL GO ALL THE WAY TO THE HIGHEST LEVEL ALONE OR WHILE YOU ARE TRYING TO ADJUST IT UP/DOWN. THE ONLY SOLUTION FOR ALL OF THE RADIO ISSUES ARE TO ROLL THE WINDOWS DOWN SO YOU DON'T LOSE YOUR HEARING AND PULL THE CAR OVER, SHUT THE CAR OFF, & RESTART THE CAR. THIS IS STARTLING WHEN THE VOLUME GOES ALL THE WAY UP AND IS A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN. YOU CANNOT HEAR WHAT'S GOING ON AROUND YOU & ARE IN A DANGEROUS PREDICAMENT IN TRYING TO GET PULLED OVER SOMEWHERE SAFE TO RESTART YOUR CAR. I BEGAN REPORTING THE ISSUE IN SEPTEMBER 2017 TO MY DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THE PROBLEM WAS WITH APPLE. NOW HONDA STATES THAT IT IS A "KNOWN ISSUE" BUT HAS PROVIDED NO SOLUTION. I HAVE NUMEROUS VIDEOS OF THESE OCCURRENCES FOR DOCUMENTATION. ADDITIONALLY, MY ENGINE OIL SMELLS OF GASOLINE. THE DIPSTICK READS HIGH AND THE HONDA DEALERSHIP HAS ADVISED ME TO CHANGE THE OIL EVERY 1,000 MILES AND TO NOT DRIVE SHORT TRIPS. THE ENGINE HESITATED ONCE WHILE IN TRAFFIC. THE ENGINE DOES NOT HEAT UP AT IDLE AND DURING COLD WEATHER YOU CANNOT OPERATE YOUR WINDOW DEFROSTER. THIS CAUSES SAFETY ISSUES BECAUSE YOU CAN'T SEE OUT THE WINDOWS. THE ONLY SOLUTION IS TO RIDE WITH THE WINDOWS DOWN WHEN IT'S COLD IN ORDER TO SEE. WHILE DRIVING THE CAR DOWN THE INTERSTATE AT APPROX. 20,000 MILES I HEARD A POP. WHEN I ARRIVED AT MY DESTINATION, I SAW THAT THE GEAR SHIFTER KNOB POPPED OUT. THIS RENDERED ME UNABLE TO SHIFT MY CAR FROM DRIVE TO ANY OTHER GEAR. HONDA SEEMS TO BE AWARE OF THIS ISSUE, AS THE SERVICE TECH AND ADVISOR BOTH STATED THAT THIS HAPPENS "ALL THE TIME." DEALERSHIP REPLACED KNOB. HONDA MADE A DEFECTIVE & DANGEROUS PRODUCT. THEY REFUSE TO REMEDY THE PROBLEMS.
GAS IS MIXING WITH THE OIL CAUSING AN OVERFILL SITUATION IN THE ENGINE OIL. IT IS ALSO CAUSING THE OIL TO BE DILUTED AND MAY BE CAUSING PREMATURE ENGINE WEAR. YOU CAN CHECK THE OIL AND THE DIPSTICK CLEARLY SHOWS AN OVER FILL SITUATION AND YOU CAN SMELL GAS ON THE DIPSTICK.
GASOLINE IS GETTING INTO THE OIL, RAISING THE OIL LEVEL AND CAUSING THE OIL TO SMELL OF GASOLINE AND LOSE ITS EFFECTIVENESS. I AM CONCERNED ABOUT THE GAS GETTING WHERE IT DOESN'T BELONG AND CAUSING A SAFETY ISSUE. THIS IS AFTER 5 DAYS OF USE AFTER I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE AND THE OIL WAS CHANGED BY THE DEALER BEFORE I BOUGHT IT.
WHEN I WENT TO PUT MY CAR INTO PARK (CAR WAS STATIONARY IN A PARKING SPOT) THE KNOB WAS MISSING AND NOWHERE TO BE FOUND. I WAS UNABLE TO PUT THE CAR INTO PARK. I HAD TO ASK A STRANGER TO LOOK AROUND THE FLOOR BED AND OTHER POSSIBLE PLACES SO I COULD EXIT MY VEHICLE. IT RANDOMLY POPS OUT (WHILE DRIVING) AND I AM CONSTANTLY LOOKING FOR IT. HOW CAN I SAFELY DRIVE A CAR WHEN I MIGHT NOT BE ABLE TO PUT THE CAR INTO PARK?
