TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 HONDA CR-V. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FUEL WAS CONTAMINATING THE ENGINE OIL. A TEST OF THE VEHICLE OIL WAS SENT TO BLACKSTONE LABORATORY AND IT WAS DETERMINED THAT 2.3 PERCENT OF FUEL WAS MIXING WITH THE OIL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO JEFF FYLER HONDA OF FLORENCE (LOCATED AT 949 BURLINGTON PIKE, FLORENCE, KY 41042, (859) 283-2727), BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 09075248. THE CONTACT WAS REFERRED TO NHTSA. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 17,500.
1.5 TURBO ENGINE HAS GASOLINE MIXING WITH OIL (OIL DILUTION) I HAVE 3000 MILES SINCE OIL CHANGE AND IS ABOUT 3/4 QUART OVER FULL MARK, OIL HAS EXTREME SMELL OF GASOLINE. HONDA IS AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM BUT SEEMS TO BE DOING NOTHING TO HELP OWNERS IN WHAT THEY CALL "WARMER CLIMATE STATES". THIS SHOULD BE VEIWED AS AN EMISSIONS PROBLEM AT SOME PONT BY THE NHTSA. I HAVE BEEN TO DEALER TWICE FOR VERIFICATION OF PROBLEM, THEY CANNOT DO ANYTHING UNTIL HONDA CORPORATE AUTHORIZES THE FIX WHICH IS BEING DONE IN COLD CLIMATE AREAS.
I DISCOVERED FUEL IN THE OIL OF MY 2017 TURBO HONDA CR V WHEN CHECKING THE OIL LEVEL. I HAVE APPROXIMATELY 2500 MILES SINCE MY LAST OIL CHANGE. I TOOK THE CAR TO BEAVERTON HONDA ON 11/16/2018 TO CHECK IT OUT. THEY "VERIFIED CUSTOMER'S CONCERNS OF FUEL IN ENGINE OIL." THEY ALSO "ADJUSTED OIL LEVEL" AND THEN REFERRED ME TO A HONDA VIDEO ON YOUTUBE. IT WOULD APPEAR THAT THEY SIMPLY REMOVED GOOD OIL TO MAKE ROOM FOR MORE GAS IN THE OIL. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE AND DANGEROUS.. APPARENTLY, HONDA DOES NOT HAVE A FIX FOR THIS ISSUE.
AFTER THE SECOND OIL CHANGE AT 5000 MILES, I NOTICED A STRONG FUEL SMELL IN THE OIL. TOOK MY CAR TO THE DEALER, THEY SAID IT WAS "NORMAL". I HAVE BEEN CHANGING OIL MORE FREQUENTLY IN HOPE THAT IT WILL ELIMINATE THIS PROBLEM. NOW MY CRV HAS 11500 MILES ON IT, THE OIL IS ALWAYS OVER FILL DUE TO OIL DILUTION. I GOT SO PISSED THAT HONDA BUILDS SUCH A [XXX] VEHICLE AND CHARGES US AT HIGH PRICE.
OIL DILLUSTION GAS GETTING IN OIL ONLY 1000 MILES SINCE LAST OIL CHANGE ONLY 15000 ON CAR DEALER HAS NO FIX OIL SMELLS LIKE GAS
ONGOING PROBLEM WITH VEHICLE SINCE NEW DURING PA WINTER WEATHER. VEHICLE PARKED OVERNIGHT 20 TO 40 DEG F. VEHICLE ENGINE DOES NOT WARM UP WHEN DRIVING EVEN AFTER BEING REMOTELY STARED AND ALLOWED TO RUN FOR 10 MINUTES. HEATER CONTROL SET TO HIGH, FAN SPEED SET TO LOW. TEMPERATURE GAGUE WILL RISE TO ONE QUARTER OR HALF NORMAL THEN DROP TO THE COLD POSITION AGAIN AFTER A FEW MILES. TEMP. GAGUE WILL EVENTUALLY RISE AGAIN TO ALMOST NORMAL BUT IF VEHICLE IS STOPPED FOR TRAFFIC, RED LIGHT OR COFFEE STOP IT WILL DROP DOWN TO COLD AGAIN. ALL THIS TIME (12 TO 15 MILES) THE CABIN HEAT AND WINDSHIELD DEFROST ARE PERFORMING POORLY. IF VEHICLE IS STOPPED AND SHUT DOWN FOR HALF TO ONE HOUR AND RE-STARTED IT WILL PERFORM PROPERLY WITH NORMAL HEATER AND DEFROST FUNCTION.
GASOLINE SMELL IN VEHICLE, GASOLINE OVERFILLING ENGINE OIL. GASOLINE SMELL IN VEHICLE SHORTLY AFTER STARTING WHEN COLD. VEHICLE IS PARKED WHEN THE SMELL IS NOTICED. I'M ALSO WORRIED THAT WITH THE OIL MIXING WITH THE OIL THAT ENGINE FAILURE MAY HAPPEN.
I AM FINDING MORE OIL IN THE OIL RESERVOIR FROM UNBURNT GAS.
OIL ENGINE DELUTED WITH GAS. MIXED OIL LEVEL RISES 1 INCH EVERY 3000-5000 MILES. WHEN REACHES 22MM ABOVE "MAX" MARK ON THE DIP STICK THEN "CHECK ENGINE" LIGHT COMES ON AND ENGINE STALLS. HONDA RECALLED 380000 UNITS IN CHINA FOR THE VERY SAME ISSUE. HERE IN US THEY DO NOTHING EXCEPT RISKING THE LIFE OF THEIR CUSTOMERS. SHAME ! FORUMS AND YOUTUBE ARE FULL WITH THE SAME COMPLAIN EVEN SOME TV NEWS CHANNELS MENTIONED IT. HONDA , PLEASE FIX YOUR PROBLEMATIC ENGINE AND COMPENSATE THE CR-V OWNERS AND/OR BUY BACK YOUR OVERPRICED JUNK.
I SMELL GAS IN MY CABIN AND FOUND GAS IN MY ENGINE OIL WHICH WAS OVERFILLED. I FEEL DIZZY AND HAD HEADACHE DUE TO THAT SMELL.
ENGINE OIL WAS 1 QUART OVERFULL. OIL SMELLS LIKE GASOLINE. ENGINE OIL VISIBLY THINNER THAN NORMAL. REPORTEDLY, THIS PROBLEM IS SYSTEMIC WITH CR-V'S AS OURS WITH THE TURBO 4 CYLINDER. THE GASOLINE SHOULD BE EVAPORATING DUE TO ENGINE TEMP; BUT, IT'S NOT -- AS A RESULT THE GASOLINE DILUTES THE ENGINE OIL AND CAUSES THE OIL LEVEL TO RISE.
OIL DILUTION. WHEN CHECKING THE LEVEL OF MY OIL, IT IS WAY OVERFULL ON THE DIPSTICK. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER ( ROUSH HONDA - MEDINA ), AND WAS INFORMED THAT YES, THE OIL LEVEL IS HIGH, AND THEY CONFIRMED OIL DILUTION WHERE THE OIL IS DILUTED WITH GASOLINE. THEY INFORMED ME THAT IT IS NORMAL AND DOES NOT POSE A PROBLEM. I DO NOT BELIEVE THEM, I HAVE READ OF INSTANCES WHERE PEOPLES CR-V'S HAVE STALLED OUT, AND OF PREMATURE ENGINE WEAR. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING THIS VEHICLE. GASOLINE IN THE OIL CAN NOT BE RIGHT.
THE SHIFT KNOB ON THE GEAR BROKE LOOSE. THIS HAS CAUSED THE GEAR TO UNABLE TO SHIFT INTO PARK. DEALER IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM SO THEY HAD PARTS ON HAND TO REPLACE FOR CUSTOMERS.
AFTER READING ARTICLES DELINEATING THAT THE 2017 AND 2018 HONDA CRV 1.5L TURBO CHARGED ENGINES WERE RECEIVING COMPLAINTS REGARDING FUEL MIXING WITH THE OIL, I CHECKED THE OIL AND FOUND THAT THE DIPSTICK WAS ABOVE THE UPPER MARK BY A QUARTER OF AN INCH AND THE OIL SMELLED LIKE GASOLINE. CHANGED THE OIL AND FOUND THAT THE OIL VISCOSITY WAS RUNNY AND THE OLD OIL HAD A STRONG FUEL SMELL. PRIOR TO CHANGING THE OIL, I HAD BEEN NOTICING A FUEL SMELL FROM TIME TO TIME WITHIN THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT OF THE CAR WHILE DRIVING.
THE DETENT FOR THE AUTOMATIC SHIFTER JUST POPPED OFF AND I HAD NO WAY TO SHIFT THE VEHICLE INTO PARK OR ANY OTHER GEAR FOR THAT MATTER. I CHECKED GOOGLE AND THERE ARE A LARGE NUMBER OF OTHER PEOPLE DEALING WITH THIS SAME DEFECT.
SMELL OF GAS IS STRONGLY PRESENT ON THE OIL DIPSTICK. THE READING OF THE DIPSTICK IS ABOVE THE FULL MARK AND IT CONTINUES TO RISE. OIL WAS ALWAYS CHANGED BY DEALER. FOUL SMELL IS SOMETIMES VERY NOTICEABLE ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE CAR. CAR HEAT IN COLD WEATHER IS VERY VERY SLOW BEFORE IT HEATS THE INTERIOR.
UPON REMOVING THE OIL CAP, THERE IS A VERY STRONG ODOR OF GASOLINE. AFTER FURTHER RESEARCH WE FOUND THAT THIS SEEMS TO BE A PROBLEM THIS MAKE AND MODEL OF VEHICLE MADE BY HONDA. WE WILL BE CONTACTING THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT OUR LOCAL HONDA DEALER WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASE 10/2017. THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN DRIVEN ABOUT 1,500 MILES. VERY CONCERNED ABOUT THE REPORTED STALLS AND LONG TERM EFFECT OF THE ENGINE ITSELF. I AM ALSO CONCERNED WITH POTENTIAL OF THE VEHICLE STALLING AND LOSING BOTH POWER STEERING AND ABS. I WANT THIS ISSUE ON RECORD WITH THE NHTSA.
CRANKCASE IS FILLING WITH GASOLINE FROM THE CYLINDERS CAUSING A HIGH LEVEL ON THE OIL DIPSTICK (APPROX.1/2 INCH ABOVE THE HIGH MARK) ALSO KNOWN AS OIL DILUTION.OIL HAD NO VISCOSITY WHEN I CHANGED IT AND IT REAKED OF GASOLINE.TWO DIFFERENT HONDA DEALERS AND AMERICAN HONDA CUSTOMER SERVICE ALL ACKNOWLEDGED THAT THERE AWARE OF THE ISSUE BUT THEY HAVEN'T COME UP WITH A REMEDY YET.MEANWHILE MY VEHICLES ENGINE AND I AM SURE THOUSANDS MORE ARE BEING PREMATURELY ABUSED AND WORN BECAUSE OF GASOLINE (SOLVENT) IN THE OIL.HONDA NEEDS TO MAKE THIS RIGHT AND SOON!
MY OIL LEVEL IS ABOVE NORMAL AND SMELLS OF GASOLINE. NO OTHER SYMPTOMS SO FAR.
AFTER LEARNING OF THE FUEL IN OIL PROBLEM VIA AN ARTICLE IN CONSUMER REPORTS, I CHECKED MY OIL, WHICH HAD BEEN CHANGED 2,500 PRIOR TO THAT CHECK. THE OIL SMELLED STRONGLY OF GASOLINE, AND THE LEVEL WAS VERY HIGH. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP FROM WHICH I'D PURCHASED THE CAR I HAVE TO TAKE THE CAR IN NEXT WEEK TO HAVE THE DEALER CHECK IT OUT HONDA HAS BEEN AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM FOR QUITE SOME TIME BUT FAILED TO NOTIFY OWNERS. IN FACT, BROAD NOTIFICATION HAS YET TO TAKE PLACE. I WANT THIS FIXED. IF HONDA DOESN'T MOVE MORE RAPIDLY, THEY'VE LOST ME AS A CUSTOMER.
OIL LEVEL WAS NOTICEABLY HIGHER AND HAD A FUEL SMELL TO IT. WE DID TAKE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP THEY SAID THERE NO FIX FOR IT AS OF NOW BUT TO CHANGE MY OIL MORE OFTEN.
I CAN SMELL GAS INSIDE CABIN WHILE DRIVING AND THIS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES. THIS HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING IN CITY. CONCERNED ABOUT HEATH ISSUES IF I DRIVE THIS WITHOUT FIXING THE ISSUE.
THE OIL LEVEL READING IS ABOVE THE FULL MARK ON THE DIPSTICK. THE DEALER HAS TOLD ME THAT IT IS NORMAL FOR THIS ENGINE TO DO THIS. THEY TELL ME THEY DO NOT HAVE A FIX FOR IT. PROBLEM WITH THIS OVERFILLING IS THAT GASOLINE IS DELUTING ENGINE OIL WHICH MAY CAUSE ENGINE FAILURE AND LEAD TO AN ACCIDENT.
PUSH KNOB ON MY GEAR SHIFT BROKE OFF WHILE PUTTING MY CAR INTO PARK. I WAS ABLE TO TAPE THE KNOB INTO PLACE SO I WOULD BE ABLE TO DRIVE MY CAR BACK HOME AND CHANGE GEARS.
BATTERY DRAINS OUT COMPLETELY AND CAR WON'T START.. JUST 18000 MILES. 4 TIMES IN 3 DAYS. FIRST TIME I THOUGHT MAYBE I HAD NOT SWITCHED OFF SOMETHING WHEN I PARKED SO IT MAY HAVE DRAINED. HAD TO CALL AAA. AFTER IT HAPPENED 3 MORE TIMES IN 3 DAYS REALIZED THAT THERE IS SOME MAJOR ISSUE. HONDA HAS A SERVICE BULLETIN 17-032 BUT TO SURE THIS APPLIES. THIS BEING SUNDAY WILL TAKE IT TO DEALERSHIP TOMORROW. TOO MANY COMPLAINTS REGARDING THIS ISSUE ON THE INTERNET.
VEHICLE LOSES POWER UNDER ACCELERATION. OIL DILUTION SEEMS TO BE THE APARENT CAUSE. OIL LEVEL IS WAY ABOVE THE 'MAX' LEVEL IN THE OIL DIPSTICK. STRONG GAS SMELL IN THE CABIN. PROBLEM IS WIDESPREAD AMONG OWNERS OF THIS VEHICLE (1.5 TURBO ENGINE). HONDA SAYS 'IT'S NORMAL', BUT THEN PROMISES THAT 'PROBLEM IS GOING TO BE FIXED IN NEXT YEAR MODEL'.
I HAVE BEEN NOTICING A FUEL SMELL IN THE PASSENGER CABIN. IT SEEMS TO BE A MAJOR ISSUE. I HAVE BEEN TOLD FROM THE DEALER TO CHANGE THE OIL AND LET THE CAR WARM UP LONGER. THAT'S THE FIX. COME ON HONDA. THIS IS RIDICULOUS. YOU NHTSA NEED TO MAKE SURE HONDA IS HELD TOTALLY RESPONSIBLE.
INFOTAINMENT SCREEN WILL RANDOMLY FLASH, DIM AND BEEP. THIS HAS CAUSED SEVERAL SAFETY ISSUES INCLUDING HIGH LEVEL OF DISTRACTION AND FAILURE OF THE NAVIGATION SYSTEM AT ALL THE WRONG TIMES. THIS HAPPENS RANDOMLY WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION OR STOPPED. THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN REPORTED TO THE DEALER AND THEY HAVE FAILED TO FIND A SOLUTION. THEY CLAIM NO ONE ELSE HAS REPORTED SIMILAR PROBLEMS. THIS IS LAUGHABLE DUE TO ALL OF THE ONLINE COMPLAINTS AND YOUTUBE VIDEOS DOCUMENTING THE SAME PROBLEM. THEY HAVE REFUSED TO ATTEMPT A REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT OF AFFECTED DEFECTED COMPONENTS.
1. GASOLINE LEAKING IN TO ENGINE OIL. EVIDENT BY GASOLINE SMELL AND HIGH LEVEL WHEN CHECKING OIL. 2. POOR OR NO HEAT IN COLD WEATHER CONDITIONS. THIS CAUSES A SAFETY RISK DRIVING IN SNOWY WEATHER. WINDSHIELD WILL NOT DEFROST. TYPICALLY HAPPENS DURING STOP AND GO CITY DRIVING. SERVICE APPOINTMENT IS CURRENTLY SCHEDULED FOR 12/6 AND ISSUE WILL BE REPORTED TO THE DEALER ALSO.
GASOLINE IN THE ENGINE OIL. LEVEL OF ENGINE OIL AS MEASURED WITH DIPSTICK RISING. INADEQUATE HEAT IN PASSENGER COMPARTMENT WHEN AMBIENT TEMPERATURE BELOW 25F WHEN DRIVING AROUND TOWN (10 MILES).
INTERMITTENT FUEL ODOR IN CABIN WHEN STATIONARY AND DRIVING . HEAVY ODOR OF FUEL IN MOTOR OIL AND INCREASED OIL LEVEL ON OIL DIP STICK.
ENGINE OIL HAS A STRONG SMELL OF FUEL. VEHICLE WAS BROUGHT IN TO THE DEALER, DEALER ADVISED ME THAT THEY NEEDED TO UPGRADE THE SYSTEM. THE UPGRADE HAS NOT FIX THE PROBLEM AND THE VEHICLE STILL HAS A STRONG ODOR OF FUEL COMING FROM THE ENGINE OIL DIPSTICK. EVERYTIME I WOULD FILL UP WITH GAS, THE GAS METER DISPLAYS FEWER AND FEWER MILEAGE RANGE ON A FULL TANK.
SMELL OF GASOLINE INSIDE CABIN ALL WINTER. FILING THIS COMPLAINT REGARDING THE DESIGN FLAW THAT MIXES GASOLINE WITH OIL.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 HONDA CR-V. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE CONTACT HEARD AN ABNORMAL BEEPING NOISE EMERGING FROM THE VEHICLE. IN ADDITION, THE BRIGHTNESS CONTROL ON THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER WAS BLINKING, BUT THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT CALLED HONDA OF THE AVENUES (11333 PHILIPS HWY, JACKSONVILLE, FL 32256, 904-370-1300) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BRIGHTNESS CONTROL UNIT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 09626590. NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 15,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 HONDA CR-V. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE ATTEMPTING TO PARK IN THE GARAGE, THE GEAR SHIFTER HANDLE FRACTURED. THE CONTACT HAD TO FORCE THE SHIFTER INTO THE PARK POSITION. THE FOLLOWING DAY THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER LUCAS HONDA OF JACKSONVILLE (7801 BRANDING BLVD, JACKSONVILLE, FL 32244) WHERE THEY DETERMINED THAT THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE AND REPLACED THE HANDLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 35,000.
CR-V ROLLED BACKWARDS TWICE, ONCE WHEN THE ENGINE WAS OFF (OCT. 2018) AND ONCE WHEN IT WAS RUNNING (MAY 2019). BOTH TIMES THE GEAR SHIFT WAS IN NEUTRAL. I BELIEVE THE GEAR SHIFT SLIPPED INTO NEUTRAL, PERHAPS BY MY BANGING INTO IT. I HAVE DRIVEN FOR 27 YEARS AND NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM. I MOST RECENTLY DROVE A TOYOTA RAV4 WITH A SIMILAR LAYOUT IN TERMS OF LOCATION OF THE GEAR SHIFT. DROVE IT FOR 9 YEARS WITHOUT A PROBLEM.
VEHICLE HAS 1.5 L TURBO ENGINE AND GAS IS DILUTING THE ENGINE OIL. LEVEL HAS RISEN 10 MM ABOVE THE LAST OIL CHANGE LEVEL DONE 4/19/18, AFTER 5070 MILES. SOME OWNERS HAVE REPORTED THIS TO NHTSA AS A VEHICLE STALLING PROBLEM, WHICH I BELIEVE IS A SAFETY ISSUE. THIS HAS NOT HAPPEN TO US, BUT I AM CONCERNED THAT IT COULD. I REPORTED IT TO MY LOCAL HONDA SERVICE AT GANLEY HONDA OF N. OLMSTED, OH. THEY SEEMED TO BE UNAWARE OF THIS POTENTIAL PROBLEM, EVEN THOUGH CONSUMERS REPORTS DID AN EXTENSIVE ARTICLE ON THE 1.5 L OIL DILUTION PROBLEM.
THIS COMPLAINT IS RELATED TO MY VEHICLE DILUTING THE OIL WITH UNBURNT GASOLINE AND CREATING FUEL ODORS IN THE CABIN AS WELL AS PREMATURE ENGINE WEAR.. MY VEHICLE NOW HAS ~ 15000 MILES AND HAS JUST COMPLETED ITS 3RD OIL CHANGE. EACH OIL CHANGE HAS RECORDED ON THE SERVICE ORDER THE DRAINED OIL AMOUNT AND EACH TIME THE FLUID LEVEL WAS LARGER THEN WHAT WAS FILLED AT THE PRIOR OIL CHANGE. THE LAST CHANGE THE DEALERSHIP RECORDED 17 OZ MORE FLUID THEN WHAT WENT IN, THIS WAS ALL GASOLINE. THIS IS RESULTING IN GASOLINE ODORS IN THE CABIN WHICH ARE CREATING AN UNSAFE ENVIRONMENT FOR MY PASSENGERS AND MYSELF. IT SEEMS HIGHLY LIKELY THAT ACCUMILATING GASOLJNE VAPORS IN THE INTERIOR OF THE VEHICLE POSE BOTH A HEALTH HAZARD AND A POSSIBLE FIRE OR EXPLOSION RISK . HONDA HAS ACKNOWLEDGED THERE IS A OIL DILUTION PROBLEM WITH THESE VEHICLES BUT REJECTS THE NOTION THAT THE BYPRODUCTS OF THIS DESIGN FLAW, NAMELY THE ACCUMULATING GAS VAPORS POSE ANY SAFETY RISK AT ALL. SINCE HONDA HAS NOT REMEDIED THIS FLAW I AM ASKING THAT THIS TRANSPORTATION ORGANIZATION INVESTIGATE THESE CLAIMS FOR VALIDITY AND INSTRUCT THEM TO CORRECT THIS HEALTH, AND SAFETY RISK AS WELL AS THE PREMATURE OR ACCELERATED WEAR OF MY ENGINE DUE TO THIS ACKNOWLEDGED FLAW.
ENGINE OIL DILUTED, SMELLING OF FUEL, DIRTY, AND INCREASING IN VOLUME. OIL WAS CHANGED (2ND OIL CHANGE) AND AT PROPER LEVEL 8/25/2018 AT 15,413 MILES. TODAY, AT 10/29/2018 AND 17,510 MILES, OIL LEVEL IS ABOUT 10 MM ABOVE MAX FILL MARK. BAD SMELL SOMETIMES IN CABIN.
1.5L TURBO ENGINE. OIL IS DILUTED WITH GASOLINE, RAISING OIL LEVEL, REDUCING FRICTION AND INCREASING ENGINE WEAR. IN WORST CASE THE OIL LEVEL CAUSES CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND ENGINE STALLING, CAUSING SAFETY ISSUE. OIL SMELLS STRONGLY OF GAS, INSIDE CABIN HAS STRON GAS SMELL AT TIMES. ENGINE DOES NOT HEAT ENOUGH TO WARM THE CAR IN COLD WEATHER.
THE PUSH BUTTON ON THE GEAR SHIFT HAS DISINTEGRATED. UNABLE TO RETURN THE VEHICLE INTO THE PARK POSITION.
GEAR SHIFT BUTTON BROKE MAKING IT DIFFICULT OR IMPOSSIBLE TO PUT CAR IN THE "P" PARKING GEAR. THE SHIFT BUTTON EVENTUALLY CAME ALL THE WAY OUT. VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY WHEN TRYING TO CHANGE GEARS INTO "PARK". FINALLY GOT IT INTO PARK WITH SOME DIFFICULTY. WIFE NOT HAPPY AND WORRIED ABOUT SAFETY IF SHE CAN'T PUT THE CAR INTO PARK.
OIL READING WAS TOO HIGH PASS THE MAX LEVEL PLUS FUEL SMELL MIXED IN WITH OIL . ( ENGINE OIL DILUTION )
WHILE DRIVING DOWN A COUNTRY ROAD AT 55 MPH WITH OPEN FIELDS ON EACH SIDE. THE BRAKE WARNING LIGHT CAME ON, THE AUDIBLE WARNING SIGNAL SOUNDED AND THE BAKES SLAMMED ON HARD. THEN WENT OFF. THERE WAS NOTHING ON THE ROAD IN FRONT OF US. THE COLLISION MITIGATION BRAKING SYSTEM FAILED. SECOND TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED.
VEHICLE WAS PARKED OVER NIGHT IN THE MORNING THE BATTERY WAS COMPLETELY DRAINED I LEFT NO LIGHTS ON THERE WAS NO REASON FOR A DRAINED BATTERY ON A NEW CAR. AFTER JUMP STARTING THE CAR IT HAS NOW ISSUES LIKE A HARD START AS IF THE BATTERY IS DEAD MY INTERIOR LIGHTS DIMWHEN AT STOP LIGHT THE LOSS MITIGATION WARMING COMES ON BUT ALL MY EXTRAS EXTRA FOR THE STEERING HELP ARE OFF OT FEELS AS IF IT'S GOING TO DIE AT A LIGHT AND MY MPG WENT FROM 25.9 TO NOW 19.8 THAT'S INSANE!! I AM TAKING TO HONDA DEALER TOMORROW THIS IS A YEAR OLD HONDA
THE CAR HAS A SERIOUS ENGINE ISSUE ASSOCIATED TO THE 1.5 L TURBO ENGINE. THE ENGINE IS UNABLE TO WARM UP UP PROPERLY IN COLD WEATHER STATES AND THEREFORE IS UNABLE TO OUTPUT AN ADEQUATE AMOUNT OF HEAT THAT IS REQUIRED TO KEEP THE CABIN WARM FOR THE OWNER. THE ENGINE IS ALSO DILUTING GASOLINE INTO THE OIL RESERVOIR LEADING TO A GASOLINE SMELL WHEN CHECKING OIL LEVELS. THIS OIL DILUTION IS GOING TO CAUSE EXTENSIVE WEAR WITHIN THE OIL RESERVOIR SINCE IT'S NOT SUPPOSED TO BE THERE UNDER PROPER AND NORMAL CONDITIONS. THERE HAVE BEEN COLD MORNING ON WHICH I HAVE ACCELERATED AND FELT THE VEHICLE STALL AND I FEEL THE OIL/GAS MIXTURE IS TO BLAME FOR THIS DANGEROUS AND LIFE THREATENING DEFECT OF THIS ENGINE. I'M AFRAID TO ACCELERATE IN TRAFFIC CONDITIONS THAT MAY CAUSE ME TO GET REAR ENDED AND INJURED/KILLED DUE TO STALLING THE VEHICLE WHILE IN MOTION ON A CITY STREET OR HIGHWAY. HONDA WILL NOT ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THIS IS A PROBLEM WITH THEIR 2017 CRV AND NEWER SINCE THE MANUFACTURER STATES IT IS NORMAL OPERATING CONDITIONS TO HAVE OIL AND GASOLINE MIXING. I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE A BUYBACK OF THIS VEHICLE AND BE DONE WITH THIS BRAND FOR THE FAILURE TO CORRECT THIS AND POOR JUDGEMENT TO CONTINUE TO SELLING THIS VEHICLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 HONDA CR-V. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS SERVICED AT APPLE HONDA (2219, 1212 LOUCKS RD, YORK, PA 17404. 717-848-2600), HE CHECKED HIS OIL AND IT WAS A DARK COLOR AND IT SMELT LIKE FUEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT IT WAS NORMAL AND THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THEY WERE AWARE OF THE FAILURE BUT NO REMEDY WAS AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 17,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
A SITUATION IN WHICH THE DASHBOARD LIGHTS SHOW MULTIPLE SYSTEM FAILURES INCLUDING FAILURES OF THE RDM, CRUISE CONTROL, BRAKES AND CMBS. THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE, INCLUDING A SECOND TIME IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE DEALER "FIXED" THE PROBLEM. THE CAR HAS BEED STOPPED BUT IDLING IN BOTH SITUATION. I DROVE IMMEDIATELY TO THE DEALERSHIP THE FIRST TIME AND DID NOT EVEN LEAVE THE DEALERSHIP THE SECOND TIME. AN INDICATION OF A "BRAKE SYSTEM FAILURE" IS DISCONCERTING EVEN THOUGH THERE SEEMS TO BE NO AFFECT ON VEHICLE PERFORMANCE, OTHER THAN THESE SAFETY FEATURES BEING RENDERED INOPERABLE.

GASOLINE IS LEAKING INTO THE OIL CAUSING OIL SMELL IN CAR AND MAKING THE OIL THIN AND OVER THE FILL LINE ON DIP STICK.
