PURCHASED NEW IN MARCH OF 2017. INSTUMENT CLUSTER HAS MALUNCTIONED X 4 SINCE THEN. TWICE JUST TOTALLY GOING BLACK WHILE DRIVING. TWICE CERTAIN ALARMS ARE INDICATED (LKAS,ACC, CMBS, ETC.) THESE LAST TWO REQUIRED VEHICLE CAMERA REPLACMENT. ENTIRE INSTUMENT CLUSTER REPLACED IN OCTOBER OF 2017. BRAKING: THIS VEHICLE HAS APPLIED IT'S BRAKES AT SUDDEN AND THE MOST INAPPRORIATE TIMES. JULY 2017 ON A FOUR LANE HWY BY MYSELF, NO OTHER VEHICLE, BRAKE ALARMS LIT UP ON INSTUMENT CLUSTER AND CAR RAPIDLY DECLERATED FROM 50 TO 20 MPH BEFORE BRAKE ALARM AND BRAKES DISENGAGED. WHEN SLOWING FOR A TRAFFIC LIGHT WITH VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME, AT APPROXIMATELY 1 1/2 CAR LENGTHS FROM VEHICLE AND GOING APPROXIMATELY 10 - 5 MPH, CRV BRAKE ALARM LIT UP WITH SUBSEQUENT PANIC STOP BRAKING APPLIED. CRV'S ACC SYSTEM BRAKES THE VEHICLE WHEN APPROACHING ANOTHER PARKED OR DISABLED VEHICLE IN THE RIGHT EMERGENCY STOP LANE OR IS TURNING RIGHT AND IS PERHAPS 20-30 FEET DOWN THE RIGHT HAND ROAD. THIS OCCURS AW WELL WHEN ACC IS ENGAGED AND I AM IN THE LEFT LANE ON THE INTERSTATE AND OVERTAKING A VEHICLE TO MY RIGHT. THE DEALER TELLS ME THEY CAN FIND NO ERROR CODES NOR DO THEY HAVE ANY DATA OF THESE SYMPTOMS FROM HONDA AMERICA. BRAKING DOES NOT OCCUR ALL THE TIME. BUT WHEN IT DOES IT'S SURPRISING AND SCARY. IT SEEMS TO ME WITH ALL THE REPORTS I HAVE READ ON THE NHTSA WEB SITE CONCERNING THIS SAME PROBLEM, PERHAPS AMERICAN HONDA SHOULD TAKE A SERIOUS LOOK BEFORE SOMEONE GETS SERIOUSLY INJURED OR KILLED.
Phantom breaking occured roughly 2 MONTHS after purchasing the vehicle (new) in the middle of the freeway. The forward collision for some reason had a false negative, and the brakes seized up. I was able to safely pull over, but after restarting the vehicle, the car would not move. The brakes were still seized from the safety system, and would not allow the vehicle to move forward. After about an hour, and constant tries, for some reason - the brakes released and we were able to drive the vehicle again. We went straight to the dealership, to inspect. They had the car for a couple days, the mechanic also took the car home on his commute (~100 miles roundtrip), but was not able to recreate. There was no charge for the vehicle as it was still under warranty.
BATTERY DRAINS COMPLETELY FOR NO REASON WHEN VEHICLE IS PARKED. THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED THE DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE BATTERY. IT HAS HAPPENNED TWICE SINCE THEN AND DEALERSHIP DOES NOT PROVIDE A FIX.
THE APPLE CARPLAY WILL DISENGAGE ENROUTE. ALSO, WILL NOT RESYNC AFTER CAR IS TURNED OFF AND TURNED ON AGAIN. HONDA SAYS THEY ARE AWARE OF IT, BUT NO FIX. POSSIBLE SAFETY ISSUE IF PERSON TRY'S TO UNHOOK AND REBOOK CARPLAY WHILE DRIVING.
I UNDERSTAND THAT HONDA MANUFACTURED ALL ITS CARS WITH SOY BASED INSULATION ON WIRING WHICH CAN ATTRACT RATS TO CHEW. OBVIOUSLY, THIS IS A PROBLEM. WHEN I CALLED MY DEALERSHIP THEY WANTED ABOUT $500 TO FIX IT. I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO PAY FOR THIS PROBLEM
THE "TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM PROBLEM" LIGHT COMES ON EVERY TIME I DRIVE THE CAR AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. THE CAR HAS ONLY 3600 MILES ON IT. THE TIRES ARE PROPERLY INFLATED, BUT THE PROBLEM OCCURS REPEATEDLY AFTER ONLY ABOUT TEN MINUTES OF DRIVING. RECALIBRATION OF THE TPMS DOES NOT FIX THE PROBLEM AND THE CAR DEALERSHIP OFFERS NO SOLUTIONS. THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN ON GOING FOR ABOUT A WEEK.
THE LEFT REAR AND CENTER REAR SEAT BELT BUCKLES, ARE OPPOSITE OF WHAT THEY SHOULD BE. THIS ARRANGEMENT MAKES IT IMPOSSIBLE FOR THE LEFT REAR PASSENGER, TO BUCKLE UP IF THE CENTER SEAT PERSON IS BUCKLED IN, OR A CAR SEAT IS IN PLACE. CONTACTED MY HONDA SERVICE DEPARTMENT AND THEY FORWARDED MY COMPLAINT TO THE DISTRICT REPRESENTATIVE, HIS RESPONSE WAS HE IS AWARE OF THE ISSUE BUT THERE IS NO FIX FOR THE PROBLEM. I DID SOME RESEARCH AND FOUND THAT THE ACURA RDX IS THE SAME PLATFORM AS THE HONDA CR-V. SO I VISITED THE NEAREST ACURA DEALERSHIP, THE SEAT BELT BUCKLE ARRANGEMENT WAS CORRECT ON THAT ACURA RDX. LOOKS LIKE THE ANCHOR POINT AND THE BUCKLES ARE EXACTLY THE SAME AS THE ONES THAT ARE IN MY HONDA CR-V. WOULD BE WILLING TO BET THAT THE ACURA SEAT BELT ASSEMBLY WOULD SOLVE THE REAR SEAT BELT ISSUE ON THESE HONDA'S, THE ASSEMBLY IS ONLY $66.00! WHY SHOULD I HAVE TO DO THAT WHEN IT WASN'T MY MISTAKE IN DESIGNING IT. .UPDATED 11/09/17 *BF *JS UPDATED 7/27/18*JB
VEHICLE: 2017 HONDA CRV TOURING - 5 MILES WHEN PURCHASED ON 05/01/2017 - 2,000 MILES WHEN I FIRST NOTICED THERE WAS A PROBLEM. I AM AT ABOUT 6,000 MILES NOW. INITIALLY I NOTICED A CLICKING SOUND EMANATING FROM THE ENGINE GET LOUDER OVER TIME. ADDITIONALLY, IN THE WINTER, HEAT TOOK A LONG TIME TO COME ON. I WAS FOLLOWING A CRV FORUM (HONDACRVOWNERS.COM) AND NOTICED A LOT OF PEOPLE START MENTIONING FUEL IN THE OIL. THEN SAW NEWS ARTICLES ABOUT A HUGE CRV RECALL IN CHINA'S COLD CLIMATE AREAS WITH THE SAME SYMPTOMS. I THEN BEGAN CHECKING THE OIL FREQUENTLY AND NOTICED A DEFINITE FUEL SMELL ON THE DIPSTICK AND RISING ABOVE THE FULL MARK. I HAVE NOT NOTICED A FUEL SMELL IN THE CABIN, FORTUNATELY, AS SOME HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT, BUT THIS IS NOT GOOD FOR AN ENGINE. TWO HONDA DEALERS HAVE TOLD ME THEY ARE AWARE OF THE ISSUE, BUT NOT TO WORRY ABOUT IT AND TO CHECK THE OIL SINCE NO LIGHTS ARE ON AND SCANS SHOW NO PROBLEM. OF COURSE! NO PROBLEMS YET, BUT MOST DRIVERS DON'T CHECK THEIR OIL AND WON'T NOTICE A PROBLEM UNTIL THE ENGINE COMPLETELY FAILS AND PUTS THE OCCUPANTS' LIVES IN DANGER.
IT IS QUITE COMMON FOR THE AIRBAGS TO BE TURNED OFF FOR THE PASSENGER SEAT EVEN WHEN MY WIFE IS SITTING IN IT. WE HAVE NOT FOUND A WAY TO GET THEM TO COME ON. IT SEEMS THAT THIS IS VERY UNSAFE. THE ISSUE HAS EXISTED SINCE THE CAR WAS BRAND NEW.
OIL HAS STRONG SMELL OF GAS, AND OIL LEVEL CONSISTENTLY RISES OVER TIME UNTIL OIL CHANGE COMPLETED. AROUND 500 MILES AFTER OIL CHANGE THE GAS SMELL RETURNS AND CONTINUES TO GET STRONGER WHILE ALSO INCREASING THE OIL LEVEL WELL ABOVE THE LOW AND HIGH ON THE DIPSTICK. HAS HAPPENED FOR OVER A YEAR SINCE I FIRST DISCOVERED MANY OTHER 2017/2018 CRV OWNERS DISCUSSING THE PROBLEM ONLINE.
ENGINE OIL OVERFILLED. CAR HAS STALLED ON OCCASION. VEHICLE SAFETY FEATURES (HONDA SENSING) FAILED COMPLETELY WHILE DRIVING IN BAD WEATHER...SNOW AND RAIN.
VEHICLE HAS AN ISSUE WITH ACTIVATING ITS COLLISION MITIGATION BRAKING SYSTEM (CMBS) FOR NO REASON RESULTING IN UNNECESSARY SLAMMING OF THE BRAKES. THIS HAS OCCURRED AT LEAST FIVE TIMES OVER THE LAST FIVE MONTHS. IT WAS FIRST NOTED AT AROUND 12,000 MILES AND HAS HAPPENED AT LEAST 4 MORE TIMES (WE ARE NOW AT 20,000 MILES). IN SOME INSTANCES, THE VEHICLE WAS TRAVELLING AT OVER 60 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY AND SLAMMED ON ITS BRAKES ON ITS OWN. THERE WERE NO OBJECTS IN FRONT OF THE VEHICLE AND WE WERE FOLLOWING A STRAIGHT LANE. LUCKILY, REAR-ENDING ACCIDENTS THAT COULD HAVE RESULTED FROM THIS HAVE BEEN NARROWLY AVOIDED. THERE WAS AN INSTANCE IN WHICH THE VEHICLE BRAKED AND AN 18-WHEELER BEHIND IT HAD TO SLAM ON ITS BRAKES AND WAS SWERVING UNCONTROLLABLY FOR AT LEAST 300 FEET. A LEMON CLAIM HAS BEEN FILED, BUT HONDA IS REFUSING TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE ISSUE BECAUSE IT HAS YET TO HAPPEN WHILE THEIR TECHNICIANS DRIVE IT. PLEASE NOTE THAT WE HAVE PUT 20,000 MILES ON THIS VEHICLE FOR IT TO HAPPEN 5 TIMES (AN AVERAGE OF ONCE EVERY 4,000). TECHNICIANS ARE EXTREMELY UNLIKELY TO EXPERIENCE THE ISSUE WHILE TEST DRIVING THE VEHICLE 10 MILES. THIS ISSUE JEOPARDIZES THE SAFETY OF ALL PASSENGERS OF THIS VEHICLE. WE TRULY HOPE HONDA SHEDS LIGHT ON THIS ISSUE TO PREVENT UNNECESSARY LOSS OF LIFE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 HONDA CR-V. THE CONTACT STATED THAT FUEL WAS IMPROPERLY LEAKING INTO THE OIL OF THE CRANK CASE. THE DEALER (BOB BRADY HONDA, 3955 E BOYD RD, DECATUR, IL 62521, (217) 876-3800) WAS PERFORMING THE ROUTINE OIL CHANGES, BUT COULD NOT REMEDY THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE, BUT THERE WERE NO ENGINE RECALLS. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 2,000. *TT UPDATED 12/19/18*JB
BRAKES CAME ON HARD WITH CRUISE CONTROL SET AT 73 MPH WHILE DRIVING ON INTERSTATE IN LEFT LANE. NOTHING WAS AHEAD OF ME IN MY LANE. I WAS OVERTAKING A VEHICLE THAT WAS IN THE RIGHT LANE. THE HIGHWAY WAS VERY STRAIGHT. I BELIEVE THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE COLLISION AVOIDANCE SYSTEM.
GAS SMELL LIKE OPEN CONTAINER IN CABIN WHILE STATIONARY AT STOPLIGHT ALSO WHEN GARAGED OVERNIGHT NO FUEL ON GROUND OBSERVED WHILE GARAGED
TRANSMISSION & TRANSFER CASE LEAKING DUE TO DEFECT. NEW TRANSMISSION & TRANSFER CASE NEEDED TO BE INSTALLED.
The contact owns a 2017 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that on several occasions when the vehicle was started, there were several unknown warning lights illuminated. Additionally, while driving 35 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power. The vehicle was steered to the side of the roadway and restarted. The vehicle was taken to a dealer however, the failure could not be duplicated. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 700.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. AN UNKNOWN DEALER WAS CALLED AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE REMEDY PART WOULD NOT BE AVAILABLE IN THE FIRST QUARTER OF 2018. THE MANUFACTURER WAS ALSO NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
RADIO DOES MUTE WHEN NAVIGATION SYSTEM GIVES VOICE COMMANDS, FORCING DRIVER TO LOOK AT DISPLAY AND THUS DISTRACTING DRIVER AT CRITICAL TIMES, E.G., INTERSECTIONS AND EXITS. HONDA STATES IT IS AWARE OF CONDITION BUT NO FIX APPEARS TO BE AVAILABLE.
MY 2017 HONDA CR-V HAS AN ISSUE WITH GASOLINE GETTING INTO THE ENGINE OIL, WHICH IS RAISING THE OIL LEVEL, TURNING THE OIL BLACK, AND MAKING IT SMELL OF GASOLINE. I FEAR THAT THIS IS THINNING THE OIL TO THE POINT WHERE IT IS NOT PROTECTING THE ENGINE FROM WEAR.

WINDSHIELD WIPERS IN AUTO MODE OPERATE ERRATICALLY AND UNPREDICTABLY. EVEN WITH SELECTOR KNOB AT THE MOST SENSITIVE POSITION, THE WIPERS OFTEN FAIL TO OPERATE EVEN WHEN THE WINDSHIELD IS COMPLETELY COVERED WITH WATER, WITH NO OPERATION FOR ABOUT 30 SECONDS OR MORE. WHEN DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD WITH A LIGHT RAIN, WIPERS FAIL TO RELIABLY OPERATE TO MAINTAIN CLEAR VISIBILITY EVEN WITH THE SELECTOR SET AT MAXIMUM SENSITIVITY. A COMMON SCENARIO IS DRIVING IN A STEADY RAIN WITH SOMEWHAT NORMAL (THOUGH ERRATIC) OPERATION AND THEN STOP AT A STOP LIGHT. WHEN THE VEHICLE IS NOT MOVING THE WINDSHIELD CAN BECOME TOTALLY COVERED WITH RAIN AND THE WIPERS DO NOT COME ON FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME, SERIOUSLY IMPAIRING VISIBILITY. AFTER THE DRIVER REALIZES THAT THEY CAN NO LONGER SEE CLEARLY THROUGH THE WINDSHIELD, MANUAL INTERVENTION IS NEEDED TO MOVE THE WIPER SELECTOR TO A CONTINUOUS OPERATING MODE TO CLEAR THE WINDSHIELD. VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED AT THE DEALER FOR PROPER WIPER OPERATION. UPON ARRIVAL THE SERVICE WRITER USED A HOSE TO SPRAY LARGE AMOUNTS OF WATER ON THE WINDSHIELD WITH THE WIPERS IN THE AUTO MODE AND THE VEHICLE IDLING, AND MADE SURE WATER WAS COVERING THE RAINDROP SENSOR AT THE TOP OF THE WINDSHIELD. THE SERVICE WRITER CONFIRMED A LONG REACTION TIME BEFORE THE WIPERS ENGAGED. TECHNICIANS INSPECTED THE WIPER OPERATION IN THE SHOP AND CLAIM THAT IT WORKS AS INTENDED. APPARENTLY THE WIPERS ARE EITHER FAILING TO OPERATE ACCORDING TO THE DESIGN INTENT, OR THERE IS NO MALFUNCTION AND THE DESIGN IS FLAWED. IN EITHER CASE, RELYING ON THE AUTO MODE PRESENTS AN UNSAFE CONDITION DUE TO IMPAIRED VISIBILITY.
I BOUGHT MY CAR CERTIFIED PREOWNED FROM CAPITOL HONDA IN SAN JOSE. I WAS ASSURED THAT THE CAR HAD NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT AND IT WAS A LEASE TURN IN. I HAD MY AIRBAGS REPLACED LAST YEAR AND LAST WEEK I REAR ENDED A CAR AND MY CAR WAS TOTALED AND THE AIRBAGS NEVER WENT OFF. I HIT PRETTY HARD. THE REPORT FROM MY INSURANCE IS WHERE I FOUND OUT IT HAD BEEN IN TWO ACCIDENTS AND WAS A RENTAL. I SHOULD HAVE BEEN PRIVEY TO THAT INFORMATION WHEN I WAS A SHOPPER.
MY FIRST PROBLEM OCCURRED 3 MONTHS AFTER I HAD MY NEW CAR(@ 5609 MILES)....THE FIRST INCIDENT CAME OUT OF THE BLUE - ON MAY 11TH, 2017 I USED MY CAR AT 1 PM AND WHEN I TRIED TO LEAVE WORK AT 4:30 THE CAR DISPLAY FLASHED A BUNCH OF ODD MESSAGES AND THE CAR WOULDN'T TURN OVER. IT HAD A DEAD BATTERY! SO AN ONE AND A HALF LATER THE TOW TRUCK ARRIVED TO TAKE THE CAR TO THE DEALER AND I HAD TO GET A RIDE HOME AND TO AND FROM WORK THE NEXT DAY. HONDA SERVICE CALLED ME THE NEXT DAY AND SAID THAT THEY CHARGED THE CAR BATTERY AND THAT THE CAUSE WAS A PARASITIC DRAIN AND THAT I NEEDED TO PUT THE ELECTRIC BRAKE ON BEFORE I TURNED OFF THE CAR. THEY TOLD ME THAT HONDA WAS AWARE OF THIS ISSUES AND THAT THEY WERE WORKING ON A SOFTWARE FIX.... WELL TONIGHT (FRIDAY - AUG. 18TH, 2017) AS I WAS ABOUT TO GO OUT, THE CAR AGAIN HAS A DEAD BATTERY. NOW I'M STUCK HOME UNTIL TOMORROW WHEN I WILL HAVE TO SPEND SATURDAY TRYING TO GET THE CAR DRIVEABLE BY HONDA. SO I HAVE A NEW CAR (WITH 9300 MILES) I CAN'T DRIVE!!! WHAT HAPPENS IF I HAVE AN EMERGENCY? HONDA - IF YOU HAVE A FIX (WHICH I SEE ON SERVICE BULLETIN A17-032), WHEN CAN I GET MY CAR FIXED SO I CAN HAVE A CAR I CAN RELY ON? WHEN WILL YOU LIST MY VIN IN YOUR SERVICE BULLETIN A017-032 FOR PARASITIC BATTERY DRAW FROM VSA MODULATOR????? THIS IS NOT A GOOD BUSINESS PRACTICE AND NOT ONE I WOULD EXPECT FROM HONDA!
ON MORE THAN ONE OCCASION I'VE COME OUTSIDE TO DISCOVER ALL 4 OF MY 2017 CRV'S WINDOWS AND MOONROOF OPEN. I'VE GOTTEN RAIN DAMAGE BECAUSE MY WINDOWS AND ROOF ENDED UP OPEN DURING A MAJOR RAINSTORM. THE "VENTING' FEATURE OF THE CAR APPARENTLY WAS ACTIVATED WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE. I HAVE SINCE LEARNED (IN DISCOVERING SIMILAR COMPLAINTS ONLINE) THAT THIS IS A KNOWN AND COMMON PROBLEM. IT REPRESENTS A DEFECT IN THE DESIGN OF THE REMOTE KEY FOB. MY UNDERSTANDING IS THAT THERE IS NO WAY TO DISABLE THIS. THIS OCCURRED BOTH TIMES WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONERY, SOMETIME AFTER EXITING THE VEHICLE.
CAR BATTERY HAS DRAINED ON TWO OCCASIONS. CAR WON'T START. SYSTEM NEEDS ANTI THEFT RESET.
DRIVING DOWN ANY ROAD WITH TAR STRIPS SOMETIMES CAUSES THE VEHICLE TO GIVE A WARNING (WHEEL SHAKE) OF LANE DEPARTURE. THIS IS EASILY OVERRIDDEN BY THE DRIVER, BUT IS VERY IRRITATING. IT MUST THINK THE TAR STRIPS ARE LANE MARKERS! WHEN THE CRUISE CONTROL (ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL) IS ENGAGED, THE ACC CAN SOMETIMES JAM ON THE BRAKES WITH NO OBSTACLE IN THE PATH. IT HAPPENS WHEN CARS AHEAD ARE PULLING OFF TO THE LEFT OR RIGHT BUT ARE CLEARLY OUT OF THE LANE OF TRAVEL. THIS HAPPENED ON A TWO LANE UNDIVIDED SUBURBAN ROAD. I HAVE HAD TWO NEAR MISSES WITH FOLLOWING CARS HAVING TO BRAKE, AND TWO OTHER TIMES WITH NO CARS FOLLOWING. ONE EVENT HAPPENED ON A CURVE OF A TWO LANE DIVIDED ROAD WITH A CAR COMPLETELY IN THE LEFT HAND TURN LANE AHEAD WITH MY VEHICLE IN THE LANE OF TRAVEL. ACC JAMMED MY BRAKES ON CAUSING ME TO HAVE TO HIT THE BRAKE PEDAL AND THEN ACCELERATOR TO AVOID CARS BEHIND. THERE IS NO DEFEAT FOR THE ACC FUNCTION SO JUST REGULAR CRUISE CONTROL CAN BE USED. THIS CRUISE CONTROL IS NOT READY FOR PRIME TIME! HONDA JUST SAYS THEIR IS NOTHING WRONG WITH IT AND THE SOFTWARE IS UP TO DATE. BOUGHT THE CAR APRIL OF 2017, AFTER A FEW MONTHS CAR WENT DEAD JUMP START IT AND TOOK IT TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC. DEALER REPLACES THE BATTERY, NOT MUCH EXPLANATION WHY. THE PROBLEM HAPPEN 2 MORE TIMES, HAD TO JUMP START CAR AGAIN TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALER BUT THIS TIME DEALER TELLING ME THAT THE CAR NEEDS TO BE DRIVEN REGULARLY AND ALSO ON A CERTAIN DISTANCE SO THAT BATTERY WILL BE CHARGED UP COMPLETELY. AND WAS TOLD TO BUY A PORTABLE CHARGER, THE PROBLEM IS I BOUGHT THIS CAR SUPPOSEDLY FOR WEEKEND USE ONLY, NOW I AM REQUIRED TO DRIVE IT AROUND JUST TO CHARGE THE BATTERY.
WAS DRIVING 45MPH ON A STRAIGHT, FLAT ROAD, NO OTHER CARS AROUND. BRAKES SLAMMED ON AND THEN RELEASED. THERE WAS NOTHING IN FRONT OF ME OR BEHIND ME. I BELIEVE SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH THE COLLISION MITIGATION BRAKING SYSTEM. MY BACK AND NECK ARE VERY SORE. THERE WERE NO WARNINGS FROM THE SYSTEM.

UPDATED 09/15/17*LJ THE CONSUMER STATED THE LEATHER ON THE BACK PART OF THE DRIVER'S SEAT WAS COLLAPSED ON THE LEFT SIDE BY THE DOOR. THE DEALER REPOSITIONED THE PADDING WHICH WAS A TEMPORARY FIX. THIS INCIDENT WAS 4 MONTHS AFTWR PURCHASE. I PARKED A FRIEND'S HOUSE, AND THE BATTERY DRAINED OVER THE COURSE OF 3 HOURS. I CAME OUT AND START THE CAR, AND IT WOULDNT START. THE CAR KEEP ON MAKING THIS CONTINUOUS BEEPING NOISE EVERY TIME I OPEN AND CLOSE THE DOOR. IT USUALLY ONLY DO THAT IF THE KEY ISN'T NEAR THE CAR, BUT THIS TIME THE KEYS ARE ON ME. THE TRUNK WILL NOT OPEN NO MATTER WHAT YOU PRESS. I HAD TO GET MY FRIEND TO JUMP THE CAR WITH CABLES. WHILE I WAS DRIVING HOME, IT DIDN'T SHOW THE NORMAL SCREEN, BUT IT SHOWED SOME ANTI THEFT MESSAGE. ONCE I GOT HOME, IT TOLD ME TO HOLD DOWN FOR LONGER THAN TWO SECONDS TO HAVE THE SYSTEM RESTART. I DID THAT BUT NOTHING HAPPENED. I LEFT IT OVER NIGHT AND IT WAS NORMAL AGAIN THE NEXT DAY. RIGHT NOW, AS I'M WRITING THIS COMPLAINT, THERE'S ANOTHER PROBLEM. AN HOUR AGO, I PARKED AT A RESTAURANT'S PARKING LOT. I CAME OUT 40 MINUTES LATER AND CANNOT START THR CAR. THE DISPLAY IN FRONT OF ME IS SHOWING "BRAKE SYSTEM PROBLEM. " I'M WAITING THE THE TOW PEOPLE TO TOW MY CAR RIGHT NOW. IN SIX MONTHS I HAVE EXPERIENCED 2 MAJOR PROBLEMS WHICH CAUSE QUITE AN INCONVENIENCE.

THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THAT ENGINE OIL WAS CONSISTENT AND ALSO THAT THE ENGINE OPERATED AS INTENDED WITH THE DESIGN OF THE FUEL INJECTORS. THE MECHANIC ALSO DID NOT FIND EXCESS OIL WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS BEING INSPECTED. THE MANUFACTURER EXTENDED THE WARRANTY ON THE VEHICLE DUE TO POSSIBLE GAS/OIL DILUTION. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 2,645. THE VIN WAS INVALID.
MY CAR DOES NOT GIVE ANY AUDIO ALERT WHEN I SHUT OFF THE CAR AND HAVE IT IN GEAR. MY CAR ROLLED AWAY FROM PARKING SPOT AND HIT ANOTHER CAR WHEN I WAS NOT IN IT. PER AGAIN, A TRADITIONAL KEY CANNOT BE REMOVED FROM THE IGNITION UNTIL THE VEHICLE IS IN 'PARK.' FMVSS 114 IS QUITE CLEAR ON THIS POINT: SINCE 1992, THE STANDARD HAS REQUIRED VEHICLES WITH AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS THAT HAVE A PARK POSITION TO HAVE A KEY-LOCKING SYSTEM THAT PREVENTED REMOVAL OF THE KEY UNLESS THE TRANSMISSION WAS LOCKED IN PARK OR BECAME LOCKED IN PARK AS THE DIRECT RESULT OF REMOVING THE KEY. THIS IS A PUSH START AND IT DOES NOT BEEP OR ANYTHING LETTING ME KNOW IT IS NOT IN PARK. THE GEAR SHIFTIER DOES NOT SHOW WHAT GEAR IT IS IN. NHTSA IS PURPORTING TO ADDRESS THESE PROBLEMS WITH A NOTICE OF PROPOSED RULEMAKING, PUBLISHED IN DECEMBER 2011, WITH A NEW RELIANCE ON AUDIBLE WARNINGS, BASED ON THOSE ALREADY REQUIRED IN FMVSS 403 (WHEELCHAIR LIFTS). THE AGENCY OFFERED NO HUMAN FACTORS RESEARCH TO DEMONSTRATE THAT THESE WARNINGS WOULD BE EFFECTIVE. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT HAPPEN IN THE DECEMBER 2011 REGARDING CARS HAVING THE AUDIO ABLE WARNING TO LET DRIVERS KNOW. HONDA OF FREDERICK TELLS ME IT'S A WEATHER RELATED ISSUE AND MANUFACTURING ISSUE THAT THEY CANNOT DO ANYMORE TO FIX THE PROBLEM. HAVE HAPPEED 4 TIMES; RECORDED 3 TIMES: DRIVING IN RAIN ON HIGHWAY, DRIVING IN SNOW IN TOWN, DRIVING NEXT DAY AFTER SNOW BUT NOTHING ON THE ROAD ON HIGHWAY. ALL STRAIGHT WAYS. HAVE INVOICES FROM DEALER.
STRONG FUEL SMELL (MIX OF GAS AND OIL) COMING FROM ENGINE SINCE WE PURCHASED VEHICLE. IT'S BEEN INTO CERTIFIED DEALER FOR INSPECTIONS AND MINOR TWEAKS FOUR TIMES ALREADY AND HONDA IS UNABLE TO REPAIR IT AS THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO. THE OTHER DAY THE BACK WHEELS LOCKED UP CAUSING THE SUV TO STOP IN MIDDLE OF ROAD, AND COULDNT MOVE FORWARD OR BACKWARDS. THE SUV SWAG SIDE TO SIDE CAUSING BACKEND TO SLIDE SISDE TO SIDE. MAKING IT VERY HARD TO KEEP THE SUV ON THE ROAD. I HAVE CALLED ABOUT THE DASH LIGHTS ALL OF THEM ON AND THEY SAID IT NEEDED TO BE REST. SMELL GAS INSIDE THE SUV. I HAD A 2006 HONDA CIVIC BROUGHT IT NEW I NEVER HAD A PROBLEM OUT OF IT GOING 300,000 MILES WITH NO PROBLEMS THATS WHY I CHOSE TO GET ANOTHER HONDA, BUT WITH 2017 HONDA CRV HAS BEEN HELL WITH ALL THE ISSUES AND IS A SAFETY CONCERN.
TODAY, 7/17/19, I WAS DRIVING WESTBOUND ON MICHIGAN AVE IN SEATTLE, HEADING TO THE ON RAMP TO 509/99SOUTH/1ST AVE BRIDGE AREA. THE ROAD HERE HAS MULTIPLE LARGE METAL PLATES FLAT ON THE ROAD WAY, IT IS TWO LANES EACH DIRECTION AND MULTIPLE STOP LIGHTS. I WAS IN HEAVY TRAFFIC, DRIVING AT A SLOW AND STEADY RATE (ABOUT 20MPH OR LESS) AS I WAS GOING OVER THE ROUGH PATCH OF ROAD. THE CAR SUDDENLY AND WITHOUT MY PROMPTING BRAKED HARSHLY (AND THE SCREEN SAID BRAKE!) AND CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP ON THE METAL PLATES. IT WAS LIGHTLY DRIZZLING, BUT I HAD NOT BRAKED AS MY SPEED WAS ALREADY SLOW ENOUGH ON THAT ROAD. I CAN ONLY ASSUME THAT THE CAR SENSED THAT THE PLATES WERE AN OBSTRUCTION ON THE ROAD AND AUTOMATICALLY BRAKED. IT IS A MIRACLE THAT THE CAR BEHIND ME STOPPED IN TIME, AS MYSELF AND THE OTHER PASSENGER WERE THRUST FORWARD (WITH SEATBELTS ON) DUE TO THE FORCE OF THE DECELERATION. IT WAS A TERRIFYING EXPERIENCE AND I HAD ABSOLUTELY NO CONTROL OF THE CAR AT THAT POINT. THIS WOULD BE HELPFUL FOR A SUDDEN STOPPAGE IN FRONT OF ME, BUT TERRIFYING WHEN UNPROMPTED. IT COULD HAVE RESULTED IN HARM TO MYSELF AND OTHERS AND DAMAGE TO MULTIPLE CARS. I AM TYPING THIS HERE SO THAT HOPEFULLY IT WILL BE REPORTED TO HONDA AND OTHERS'.

I WAITED FOR 15 MINUTES THE CAR WON'T START AND ALL THE LIGHTS STARTED FLASHING ON THE DASH BROAD. I RECEIVED A JUMP BUT MY CAR WAS STILL DOING THE SAME THING. I HAD TO BUY A NEW CAR BATTERY BUT THAT ONE IN AND ONCE I STARTED THE CAR ALL THE LIGHTS ON THE DASH BROAD CAME ON AGAIN AND TURNED OFF ONCE I STARTED TO DRIVE MY CAR. OCCASIONALLY, IT HAPPENS EVERY ONCE IN AWHILE. TONIGHT AFTER WORK I PUT MY CAR IN DRIVE THE [XXX] BUTTON ON THE HANDLE CAME OFF!!!! 1:L.S SUSPENSION IS MAKING CLUNKY NOISE FOR LONG TIME.THIS PROBLEM WAS ON AND OFF BUT NOW ITS CONTINUOUSLY MAKING NOISE WHILE I DRIVE TO A BUMPY OR SMALL BROKEN ROAD. 2:ENGINE WAS MAKING ROARING NOISE THEN I FOLLOW UP WITH DEALER WITH MY RECALL NOTICE. I DON'T KNOW THEY FIX IT OR NOT BUT STILL MAKING THIS NOISE. 3:SMELL SOLID FUEL/GASOLINE FROM THE EXHAUST SYSTEM.FULL TANK GAS GIVING ME ONLY 178 MILES RANGE BUT I'M NOT ABLE TO DRIVE 150 MILES EVEN.I ALWAYS TAKE THE SILVER GASOLINE WHICH IS $38 DOLLARS FOR THE FULL TANK.SOMETIMES MORE AND MORE THIS IS THE BIGGEST PROBLEM OF CAR AND MY FINANCIAL. Steering wheel has too much play/turns too easily/doesn't feel tight enough for accurate maneuverability. Highway driving requires constant focus on lane position and lane lines, making for an exhausting drive. Very difficult to prevent car from drifting out of the lane. Accident could result from car quickly drifting into neighboring lanes an oncoming traffic. Shortly after purchase, Honda mechanic checked it out. Even with an appointment I was there for 3 hours. I was told no issues were found. However, when I left the dealership, I immediately noticed a considerable improvement in maneuverability. Over time the challenging maneuverability issue has returned.
I AM LISTENING TO AM RADIO. IN NORMAL CITY STREETS. WHEN I GO UNDER A HIGH POWER LINE, THERE IS TREMENDOUS STATIC NOISE AND RADIO VOICE IS COMPLETELY DROWNED OUT. IT IS VERY LOUD. I HAVE OTHER CARS THAT DOES NOT DO THIS ON THE SAME ROAD. I AM CONCERNED ABOUT THIS EMI INTERFERENCE ON THE REST OF THE ELECTRONIC SYSTEM. DEALER IS NOT AWARE OF ANY RECALL ISSUES AND CANNOT FIX. VEHICLE PARKED AT THE SIDE OF A RURAL ROAD, WHILE EATING LUNCH. CAME BACK AND FRONT PASSANGER WINDOW HAD EXPLODED. NOTHING STOLEN AND NO EVIDENCE OF IMPACT FROM ANY OBJECT. GLASS HAD 3M LAMINATE. THIS MAKES IT THE 3RD REPORT HERE REGARDING EXPLODING GLASSES.
WAS NOTIFIED BY NEIGHBOR THAT MY PASSENGER WINDOW BEHIND DRIVER SIDE WAS BROKEN. CONTACTED POLICE AND THEY SAID IT WAS PROBABLY A ROCK ON THE ROAD THAT FLUNG AND HIT THE WINDOW AND SHATTERED IT. NO SCRATCHES ON THE CAR, NO ITEMS WERE STOLEN. DID NOT FIND ANY ROCKS OR STONES IN THE CAR WHERE IT COULD POTENTIALLY BE VANDALISM. SEEMS AS THOUGH THIS MAYBE A WINDOW DEFECT SIMILAR TO THE OTHER POST REGARDING HIS SUN-ROOF.

THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE RALPH SCHOMP HONDA DEALER WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE SEAT BELTS WERE ANCHORED DOWN, WHICH PREVENTED THE DEALER FROM SWITCHING THE SEAT BELT BUCKLES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE PLACEMENT OF THE SEAT BELTS WAS APPROVED BY NHTSA SAFETY STANDARDS AND COULD NOT BE ALTERED. THE MANUFACTURER OPENED CASE NUMBER: 06136375. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 293.
