THE ENGINE FAILS TO REACH FULL OPERATING TEMPERATURE. GAS IS FINDING ITS WAY INTO THE OIL PAN AND PRODUCING AN OVERFILL CONDITION. THE CABIN SMELLS OF GASOLINE. THE ELECTRONICS ARE UNREILABLE AND ARE OFTEN OF LINE
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 HONDA CR-V. AFTER READING THE CONSUMER REPORT, THE CONTACT BECAME AWARE THAT THE 2018 HONDA CR-V VEHICLES EXPERIENCED FUEL INTRUSION INTO THE ENGINE OIL. THE CONTACT INSPECTED THE ENGINE DIPSTICK HIMSELF AND NOTICED A FUEL ODOR AND FUEL MIXED WITH ENGINE OIL. THE CONTACT ALSO FOUND THAT THE ENGINE OIL LEVEL HAD RISEN DUE TO THE FUEL PENETRATION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 227. *TT
OIL DILUTION ISSUE, THE OIL LEVEL OF THE VEHICLE IS WELL ABOVE THE FULL MARK ON THE DIPSTICK. I HAVE SEEN OTHER REPORTS OF THIS AND HAVE BEEN MONITORING THE SITUATION FOR SEVERAL WEEKS. EACH TIME UPON CHECKING OIL LEVEL THERE HAS BEEN AN INCREASE. AS OF TODAY IT APPEARS TO BE ABOUT 1/2 INCH ABOVE THE FULL MARK.
SONE HOW GAS IS GETTING THE OIL. I LEFT VEHICLE RUN AT IDLE FOR 15 MINUTES IN DRIVEWAY TEMP GAUGE DOES NOT MOVE. IF I DRIVE VEHICLE THE TEMP GAUGE GOES UP BUT STOP FOR A FEW MINUTES AND TEMP GAUGE STARTS DROPPING AGAIN. VERY STRONG ODER OF GASOLINE IN SIDE VEHICLE WHEN STOPPED AT RED LIGHT OR PARKED FOR A FEW MINUTES. YOU HAVE TO PUT WINDOWS DOWN IT SMELLS SO BAD. HONDA IS AWARE OF ALL THESE ISSUES AND DOES NOT WANT TO OWN UP TO ANY OF THEM! MY VEHICLE IS SUPPOSE TO GET FIXED FRIDAY MORNING. 1-11-19 BUT ACCORDING TO THE INTERNET THE FIX HONDA IS DOING DOES ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. DO PEOPLE HAVE TO DIE BEFORE HONDA IS FORCED TO DO SOMETHING? IT IS ALL HONDA CRV VEHICLES AND SOME OTHER MODELS FROM 2017 AND 2018.
ENGINE OIL DILUTION - GASOLINE IS LEAKING INTO THE ENGINE AND DILUTING THE ENGINE OIL. IT CAUSES THE ENGINE TO STALL. IT SMELLS LIKE GASOLINE A LOT INSIDE THE CAR IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. THE ENGINE DOES NOT GET WARMED UP FAST ENOUGH. THE ENGINE OPERATES TOO COLD EVEN AFTER DRIVING ABOUT A MILE DISTANCE. ANOTHER MAJOR ISSUE IS THAT THE ENGINE OIL IS LEAKING OUT. LEAKED OIL IS OBSERVED UNDER THE ENGINE WHERE THE TRANSMISSION AND THE ENGINE JOIN. THE DEALERS IN US WOULD NOT FIX THESE ISSUES OR DO NOT EVEN HAVE A FIX FOR THEM ALTHOUGH IT IS MAJOR ISSUES FOR MANY 9TH GEN CR-VS.
SMELL OF GASOLINE IN ENGINE OIL, AND THE OIL LEVEL IS ABOVE MAX LEVEL (HASN'T BEEN DRIVEN IN A FEW DAYS). HASN'T CAUSED PROBLEMS YET BUT REPORTING AS A PRECAUTIONARY MEASURE AS THERE SEEMS TO BE MANY OTHER SUCH REPORTS. THE CAR IS LESS THAN 4 MONTHS OLD.
WHILE DRIVING THE AUDIO SYSTEM STARTS BEEPING, THE SCREEN FLASHES AND IT MAKES RANDOM PHONE CALLS. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD THAT THEY DID NOT HAVE A FIX FOR THIS PROBLEM. I AM AFRAID THAT THIS DISTRACTION COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. I LOOKED ONLINE TO FIND OTHER OWNERS HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. THIS HAPPENS ON CITY STREETS ON THE HIGHWAY AND WHILE STATIONARY. I BELIEVE THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY HAZARD. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 HONDA CR-V. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FUEL IN THE VEHICLE WAS NOT BURNING, WHICH CAUSED FUEL TO SEEP DOWN TO THE OIL. THE DEALER (TOM SCOTT HONDA, 603 11TH AVE N., NAMPA, ID 83687) STATED THAT THEY COULD NOT ASSIST UNTIL A RECALL FOR THE FAILURE WAS ISSUED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS ALSO CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 400.
THE CAR BEGAN TO RUN ROUGH WHEN I WAS RETURNING FROM A LONG TRIP. WHEN I TURNED THE CAR OFF, THEN BACK ON, EVERY ALARM WAS GOING OFF. I HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THAT THE GARAGE THAT HAD CHANGED MY OIL PUT THE WRONG OIL IN. THIS WAS A LIE ON THE DEALERSHIPS PART AS THEY HAD NO EVIDENCE TO PROVE THEIR ASSERTION. I BELIEVE I HAVE ONE OF THOSE CRVS WITH THE ENGINE PROBLEMS THAT PEOPLE ARE TALKING ABOUT. MY HONDA HAS THE TURBO-4 CYLINDER MOTOR. I FOUND OUT ABOUT THESE ENGINE ISSUES OVER THE SUMMER BUT WHEN I MY CAR WAS TOWED TO HONDA, AFTER THANKSGIVING, THEY ACTED LIKE THE NEVER HEARD ABOUT THE PROBLEM.
THERE IS A HESITATION PROBLEM DUE TO THE TURBOCHARGER THE DEALER SAYS THIS IS NORMAL BUT IT CAN BE DANGEROUS PULLING INTO TRAFFIC THIS HAPPENS WHEN ACCELERATING
CHANGED OIL AT 5000 MILES. OIL LEVEL WAS OVER SEVEN QUARTS AFTER DRAINED. IS ONLY SUPPOSED TO HAVE 3.7 QUARTS. NOTIFIED DEALER OF CONDITION. FUEL IS LEAKING INTO OIL PAN
THE ENGINE HAS FUEL GETTING INTO THE OIL. THIS CAUSES THE PLUGS TO FOWL AND THE ENGINE TO LOSE POWER. THE CAR LEFT ME STRANDED ALONG THE ROAD THE FIRST TIME. DEALER TRIED TO FIX IT. IT IS NOW AT THE DEALER FOR THE SECOND TIME.
WHEN YOU PULL DIPSTICK OIL SMELLS LIKE GAS, ALSO STRONG ODOR OF GAS IN CABIN WHILE DRIVING! IT MAKES ME SICK SO YOU HAVE TO PULL OVER SOMETIMES ON BUSY HIGHWAY FOR SMELL TO STOP. YOU CAN OPEN WINDOW WHILE DRIVING. I KNOW IT IS SOFTWARE ISSUE IN HONDA COMPUTER, CHINA AND CANADA ALREADY RECALL 650.000 HONDA CRVS HEAT DOESN'T WORK PROPER EITHER, GOING FROM WARM TO COLD REALLY FAST, TOOK MY 11 MONTHS OLD TO HONDA THEY SAID IS NORMAL SMELL GAS IN OIL. I HAVE THEIR OFFICIAL STATEMENT ON PAPER. NOT SURE WHY NOTHING IS DONE. IT HAS TO BE HARD ON ENGINE ALL THIS GAS IN OIL CHAMBER.
THE REAR SEAT CENTER SEATBELT INTERFERES WITH THE PASSENGERS SEATBELT SEATED BEHIND THE DRIVER. THE VEHICLE IS SUPPOSED TO BE ACCOMMODATE FIVE PASSENGERS (THREE IN THE BACK SEAT) YET YOU CANNOT BUCKLE ALL THREE BELT AT THE SAME TIME WITHOUT INTERFERENCE.
2018 HONDA CRV EX 1.5 LITER TURBO ENGINE PROBLEM, DILUTED OIL WITH GAS, 3 MONTH OLD WITH 3400 MILES OIL HAS BEEN REPLACED ONE TIME AND AFTER 300 MILES IS DILUTED AGAIN
COULD SMELL GAS IN THE ENGINE OIL AND HAVE SMELLED GAS FUMES IN THE CABIN OF CAR. I TOOK CAR TO DEALER AFTER GETTING A LETTER ABOUT A RECALL CONCERNING THE AIR CONDITIONER. THE DEALER TOLD ME THAT THIS RECALL WAS FOR THE GAS IN OIL PROBLEM. I STILL HAVE THE SMELL OF GAS IN THE OIL.
BOUGHT NEW ON JANUARY 24, 2018. DRIVING CAR ON FREEWAY AND AT 312 MILES ALL WARNING LIGHT CAME ON, CRUISE AND ALL OTHER ELECTRONIC SYSTEM WERE DOWN. WHEN WE STOPPED THE CAR AND RESTARTED IT THE COMPUTER CAME BACK UP AND WORK. ON THE WAY BACK AT 572 MILES ON CRV THE SYSTEM SHUT DOWN AGAIN, REQUIRING SHUTTING DOWN AND STARTING CAR UP TO RESET COMPUTER. CONTACTED LOCAL DEALER AND THEY SAID DUST AND WEATHER WILL CAUSE IT TO FAIL BUT THERE WAS NO DUST AND CLEAR DAY. AFTER THE DEALER WORK ON IT SAID THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG, HAD OIL CHANGED AT DEALER ON OCT 18TH 2018, OCT 30 2018 ON I 90 EAST BOUND THE RADIO LOCKED UP AND WOULD NOT WORK HAD TO RESTART CAR TO REBOOT THE COMPUTER, ON NOV 5TH 2018 AT 605PM ALL WARNING LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN HAD TO STOP CAR AND RESTART TO GET THING RUNNING, CHECK OIL ON NOV 19TH FOUND THAT I HAVE A LOT OF GAS IN OIL, WAY OVER DIP STICK FULL LINE
BUTTON ON GEAR SHIFT LEVER BROKE OFF (INTERNAL PLASTIC PART AND METAL SPRING). THIS CONDITION PREVENTS THE VEHICLE TO BE SHIFTED IN GEAR (PARK, REVERSE, ETC.)
THERE IS FUEL IN MY OIL. DIPSTICK IS ABOVE FULL ONE WEEK AFTER CHANGING OIL AND DRIVING 150 MILES. DEALER SAYS THERE IS NO FIX
THERE IS AN EXTREMELY HIGH READING ON THE ENGINE OIL DIPSTICK. A STRONG SMELL OF GASOLINE IS PRESENT IN THE ENGINE'S OIL. THE OIL READS ABOUT HALF AN INCH HIGHER ON THE DIPSTICK THAN THE MAXIMUM MARK INDICATES.
PURCHASED MY 1.5 LTR CRV IN AUGUST OF 2018, DURING THE 2ND WEEK IN NOVEMBER OF 2018, THE TEMPERATURE DROPPED BELOW 30 DEGREES F. I WOULD START THE CAR AND LET IT RUN IDLE TO HEAT UP BUT EVEN AFTER 20 MIN, THE ENGINE TEMP GAUGE REMAINED AT THE LOWEST LEVEL BUT WOULD RISE ONCE DRIVING THE VEHICLE. THE HEAT ONLY COMES OUT MODERATELY WARM AND THE TEMP GAUGE GOES BACK DOWN WHEN THE VEHICLE IS AT A STOP. DURING THE PAST FEW DAYS OR SO, I STARTED EXPERIENCING A SMELL OF GASOLINE FUMES IN THE CABIN OF THE CAR. I GET HEADACHES, DIZZINESS, NAUSEA, AND CHEST PAINS AND AN OVERALL ILL FEELING AFTER DRIVING THE VEHICLE WHICH REMAINS FOR ABOUT 4 TO 5 HOURS LATER. I DECIDED TO CHECK THE OIL AND IT SMELLED LIKE GASOLINE AND WAS WAY OVER THE MAXIMUM LEVEL. I CALLED THE HONDA DEALERSHIP TODAY 11/28, WHO CALLED HONDA CORPORATE TO TRY AND GET ME A LOANER CAR AND HONDA CORPORATE STATED THAT THE CAR IS SAFE TO DRIVE. THE CAR IS DEFINITELY NOT SAFE TO DRIVE AND IS MAKING ME FEEL EXTREMELY ILL. I HOPE HONDA TAKES RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS ISSUE.
HONDA ENGINE OIL ISSUE. VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED NEW 8/20/2018. CHECKED THE OIL 11/17/2018 AND WAS .25 INCH OVER THE ORANGE MAX LINE. DID AN OIL CHANGE AT HOME. OIL WAS WATERY AND SMELLED VERY STRONGLY OF GASOLINE.

OIL DILUTION IN 1.5 L TURBO ENGINE. STRONG SMELL OF FUEL OUTSIDE VEHICLE. ONLY HAVE <9000 MILES AND HAVE HAD TO CHANGE OIL 3 TIMES AS LEVEL GOES UP ANS SMELLS OF GAS. CURRENTLY HAVE 300 MILES ON THIS OIL CHANGE AND CAN ALREADY SEE LEVEL RISING. ALL DRIVING IS 20 PLUS MILE TRIPS.
FUEL IS MIXING WITH THE ENGINE OIL CAUSING THE OIL LEVEL TO BECOME HIGH AND THE OIL DILUTED. ON SHORT COLD TRIPS, THE CAB SMELLS OF GASOLINE. I HAD THE OIL CHANGED BY THE DEALER AND NOT EVEN 300 MILES LATER, THE OIL LEVEL IS HIGH AGAIN AND THE OIL SMELLS OF GASOLINE. ADDITIONALLY, MY CR-V DOES NOT HEAT UP PROPERLY. WHEN STARTED COLD, THE TEMPERATURE GAUGE ON THE DASH NEVER COMES OFF OF COLD, NO MATTER HOW LONG IT IDLES. IT TAKES AT LEAST 5 MINUTES OF DRIVING TO REGISTER HEAT. WHEN I REMOTE START MY CAR ON COLD DAYS, IT DOES NOT ACTUALLY HEAT UP THE CAR.
UPDATE TO COMPLAINT # 11138878, 11138881, AND 11139308. 1 MONTH OLD CRV, 2ND TIME TOOK TO DEALER FOR OIL OVERFULL/ OIL SMELLS LIKE GASOLINE. THEY HAVE A NEW SERVICE BULLETIN WHICH DIRECTED THEM TO CHANGE THE OIL (NOT FILTER) AND UPDATE THE SOFTWARE. THE SOFTWARE UPDATE DEALT WITH HOW GASOLINE WAS SPRAYED INTO THE CYLINDERS AND WAS SUPPOSED TO STOP THE GASOLINE-IN-OIL CONDITION. AFTER A FEW DAYS -- AGAIN THE OIL IS OVERFULL (BY ABOUT AN INCH OVER "FULL"), THE OIL IS BLACK AND RUNNY AND REEKS OF GASOLINE. SOFTWARE UPDATE DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. IF ANYTHING IT'S WORSE. SECOND, NEW PROBLEM: THE SOFTWARE UPDATE CAUSED OUR MPG DISPLAY TO CHANGE FROM 29.5 MPG (OVER 4000 MILES) TO 23 MPG. MORE ALARMINGLY, OUR GASOLINE MILEAGE HAS DECREASED FROM 26 CITY/30 HIGHWAY/ 29 AVERAGE TO 26/29/27 AVERAGE.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO RAIRDON'S HONDA OF BURIEN (LOCATED AT 15026 1ST AVE S, BURIEN, WA 98148, (206) 489-2608) WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE MANUFACTURER WAS AWARE OF THE OIL DILUTION AFFECTING SIMILAR VEHICLES. AN OIL CHANGE WAS PERFORMED ON THE VEHICLE, BUT THE FAILURE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,358.
REAR D/S AND MIDDLE SEAT BELTS ARE CROSSED.UNABLE TO SAFELY TRANSPORT 2 @D/S OR 3 IN TOTAL.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO HONDA OF DANBURY (102 FEDERAL RD, DANBURY, CT 06810, 203-951-6600) TO BE DIAGNOSED, BUT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO THE DEALER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 5,020. *TT CONSUMER STATED RECALL WAS SERVICED ON 1-4-19 SOFTWARE UPDATE WITH A/C UNIT REPLACEMENT.*JB
STATIONARY:GAS INTRUSION INTO OIL. DIPSTICK REEKS OF GAS. OIL VISCOSITY APPEARS WATERY. STRONG GAS SMELL IN GARAGE AFTER PARKING (HEATED GARAGE) - TAKES 6-8 HRS TO DISSIPATE SMELL DRIVING AND STATIONARY: STRONG GAS SMELL INTO DRIVER/FRONT PASSENGER AREA, OUTSIDE PERIMETER OF CAR AND UNDER HOOD - SMELL APPEARS TO COME INTO CABIN WITH HEATER ON THROUGH VENTS. WINDOWS HAVE TO BE ROLLED DOWN AND HEATER OFF TO GET RID OF SMELL - MY EYES WATER, THROAT BECOMES TIGHT AND NOSE STARTS STINGING IMMEDIATELY - HEADACHES START AFTER APPROXIMATELY 30 MINUTES OF DRIVING AND CONTINUE FOR 4-5 HRS AS DO THE OTHER SYMPTOMS THIS CABIN/UNDER HOOD GAS SMELL HAS HAPPENED WITH OUTSIDE TEMPS FROM 28-60 DEGREES. GAS SMELL IS MORE CONCENTRATED AFTER DRIVING AND PARKING THE CAR AND THEN TURNING OFF ENGINE AND RETURNING TO CAR TO START ENGINE WITHIN 10 MINUTES TO 4 HRS - IT LITERALLY MAKES ME NAUSEOUS AND DIZZY. THIS HAPPENS WHETHER CAR IS IN GARAGE, DRIVING ON CITY STREET OR HIGHWAY. HAS BECOME WORSE THE PAST 6 WEEKS (CAR WAS PURCHASED NEW IN JUNE 2018) FROM HONDA DEALER IN CENTRAL ILLINOIS. IT CURRENTLY HAS 2500 MILES ON ODOMETER WHAT ABOUT A FIRE UNDER HOOD FROM EXCESS FUEL NOT BEING BURNED OFF? I AM CONCERNED ABOUT MY HEALTH AND EMISSIONS HAVE DRIVEN MANY TYPES OF CARS FOR OVER 50 YRS AND NEVER HAD THESE GAS INTRUSION ISSUES OR OIL INTRUSION FROM FUEL WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I NEED TO "AIR CAR OUT" BECAUSE OF SMELL AND IT'S RAINING OR SNOWING? THE POTENTIAL FOR ENGINE DAMAGE IN CONCERNING - EXAMPLE: HOW DOES GAS MIXED WITH OIL, LUBRICATE AN ENGINE AND ITS RELATED COMPONENTS PROPERLY? WHY IS THERE EXCESS BUILD UP OF FUEL IN OIL PAN? WHY AM I SUBJECTED TO THE NOXIOUS, HIDEOUS, AND SICKENING GAS SMELL IN CABIN? THEREFORE, I WOULD EXPECT AT A MINIMUM EXTENDED DRIVE TRAIN/ENGINE WARRANTY TO 6 YRS FROM HONDA WHICH WAS GRANTED IN CANADA AND WANT GAS SMELL ELIMINATED
AT VARIOUS SPEEDS AND DIFFERENT ROADS MY CAR SEEMS TO BRAKE FOR NO REASON NO CARS IN FRONT OF ME AND NO OBSTRUCTIONS OF RADAR OR CAMERA. THE SCREEN STARTS FLASHING BRAKE BRAKE BRAKE AND THEN PROCEEDS TO STOP THE VEHICLE, EVEN ON THE MIDDLE OF THE FREEWAY. HAVE BEEN TO THE DEALER MULTIPLE TIMES AND THEY CLAIM THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH MY CAR. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY DANGEROUS, AND I FEAR FOR MY OWN SAFETY
I HAVE BEEN HAVING ISSUES WITH INFOTAINMENT SCREEN/SYSTEM. THE SYSTEM FREEZES AND SOMETIMES GOES BLACK AND WON'T RESPOND TO TOUCHES AND OR INSTRUCTIONS. THE CAR HAS BEEN TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES WITH NO PERMANENT FIX. ALSO, VEHICLE TEMPERATURE REMAINS COLD. THE CAR RUNS AND DRIVES FOR SEVERAL HOURS AND THE TEMP STAYS COLD WITH NO HEAT IN THE CABIN. EXPERIENCING FUEL MIXING WITH OIL AND SOMETIMES SMELL OF FUEL IN THE CABIN IS NOTICEABLE.HIGH OIL LEVEL IS ALSO PRESENT. DEALERSHIP AND HONDA NA BOTH INFORMED ME THAT I WILL NEED FREQUENT OIL CHANGES UNTIL THEY FIND A PERMANENT FIX.
AFTER 500KM OF DRIVING, THE OIL LEVEL WAS OVER THE TOP LIMIT AND THERE WAS STRONG GAS SMELL COMING OUT FROM UNDER THE HOOD. THE CAR TAKES A LOT TIME TO WARM UP. VISITED THE SHERWOOD PARK HONDA DEALER ON NOV 5, 2018 FOR THIS PROBLEM, THEY FOUND THE OIL LEVEL WAS 25MM ABOVE THE LIMIT. THEY DISCHARGED SOME OF THE OIL WITHOUT OIL CHANGE. I CALLED HONDA CANADA TWICE ON NOV 5, 2018 REGARDING THE FIX TO THIS PROBLEM. THE CASE NUMBER IS 1150181. THEY SAID THERE WILL BE AN "UPDATE" ADDRESSING THIS PROBLEM FROM EARLY NOVEMBER, BUT NOT SURE WHETHER MY VEHICLE WILL BE INCLUDED INTO THIS "UPDATE". THEY PROVIDED THE RECALL LINK FOR ME TO CHECK PERIODICALLY. HONDA CANADA MENTIONED DURING THE PHONE CALL THAT IF THE PROBLEM LIKE THIS FOUND, SHERWOOD HONDA SHOULD CALL THE TECHNICAL LINE FOR SUGGESTION. WHEN ASKED WHETHER THEY HAVE CALLED HONDA CANADA REGARDING SUGGESTION OF OIL DILUTION PROBLEM, SHERWOOD HONDA SAID THEY HAVE THE CALL AS WHAT TO DO WITHOUT CONSULTING TO HONDA CANADA.

PURCHASED A NEW 2018 HONDA CR-V EX IN FLORIDA 4/18. WORKED FINE UNTIL A RECENT TRIP TO INDIANA WHERE IT WAS SUBJECTED TO COLD TEMPERATURES. THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT HEAT FOR 10 MINUTES AND IT'S PERFORMANCE SEEMED TO SUFFER COMPARED TO HOW IT WAS OPERATING IN WARMER FLORIDA. THE WORST PART WAS THE FAINT SMELL OF GASOLINE IN THE CAR THE ENTIRE TIME IN INDIANA. WASN'T SURE WHAT WOULD HAVE CAUSED THAT UNTIL I RETURNED TO FLORIDA AND STARTED INVESTIGATING THE MATTER AND FOUND OUT ABOUT THE OIL DILUTION PROBLEM AND THE SMALL OF GASOLINE IN THE OIL. THERE IS NO SMELL OF GASOLINE IN THE VEHICLE NOW THAT IT'S BACK IN FLORIDA, SO I HAVE TO ASSUME IT HAD SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE COLD CLIMATE IT WAS SUBJECTED TO. IN EITHER CASE I NEED TO TRAVEL TO INDIANA IN THE WINTER FREQUENTLY AND THE PROBLEM WITH GASOLINE FUMES IN THE CABIN (WHATEVER IT'S CAUSE) NEEDS TO BE FIXED. I NOW READ WHERE HONDA IS GOING TO ROLL OUT A FIX, BUT IT WILL ONLY COVER CR-V'S IN NORTHERN STATES. IF THAT'S THE CASE THEN THAT IS NOT RIGHT! WHAT ABOUT PEOPLE LIKE ME THAT TRAVEL FROM WARM CLIMATE FLORIDA TO INDIANA IN THE WINTER - WE SHOULDN'T HAVE TO ENDURE GASOLINE FUMES AND WE SHOULDN'T HAVE TO LIVE WITH POTENTIAL HARM TO OUR VEHICLES. WE SHOULD ALL HAVE THE MODIFICATION DONE TO OUR CR-V'S.
I BOUGHT THE HONDA CRV JUNE 2018, I CHECKED THE OIL AROUND 3000 MILES AND FOUND GAS IN THE OIL. I CALLED HONDA THEY SAID IT JUST NEEDED AN UPDATE . WHEN I QUESTIONED THEM ABOUT THE FOR THE DAMAGE BEING DONE TO THE PISTON, BEARING AND VALVES ,THEY TOLD ME WITH THE NEW SYNTHETIC OIL THERE WOULD BE NO DAMAGE. I MADE AN APPOINTMENT WHICH WAS 4 WEEKS OUT THAT WAS THE SOONEST THEY COULD GET ME IN .IT IS NOW DECEMBER 2 THE GAS IS IN THE OIL THE MILEAGE 4012 I WILL BE CALLING HONDA DEC.3 MONDAY FOR ANOTHER APPOINTMENT FOR ANOTHER OIL CHANGE AND UPDATE .

FUMES IN THE CABIN WHEN STARTING DURING COOLER WEATHER. GASOLINE PRESENT IN THE ENGINE OIL, WHICH DILUTES THE OIL AND RESULTS IN LEVELS HIGHER THAN RECOMMENDED BY MANUFACTURER. CONCERNS DOCUMENTED WITH A CERTIFIED HONDA DEALER. AMENDING SOFTWARE HAS NOT SOLVED THE PROBLEM. WE WERE HOLD THAT HONDA ENGINEERS ARE WORKING ON A SOLUTION. WE HAVE BEEN TO THE DEALER 4 TIMES WITHOUT A RESOLUTION.
THIS VEHICLE GETS A TERRIBLE SMELL OF GASOLINE INSIDE THE VEHICLE, ESPECIALLY ON INITIAL START-UP. THIS VEHICLE IS UNPLEASANT TO DRIVE DO TO THIS SMELL, ESPECIALLY IN THE WINTER WITH THE CLIMATE CONTROL SYSTEM ON. MY WIFE SUFFERS FROM MIGRAINES AND CANNOT RIDE IN THE VEHICLE. THE PROBLEM WAS CONFIRMED BY MY LOCAL HONDA DEALERSHIP, VALLEY HONDA, IN AURORA IL. NO RESOLUTION WAS PROVIDED AS THEY INDICATED THE SMELL IS TIED TO THE WELL KNOW OIL-DILUTION PROBLEM WITH THIS 1.5 TRBO ENGINE, WHICH THEY CONFIRMED THIS VEHICLE ALSO HAS (BUT FOR WHICH NO 'FIX' HAS BEEN ISSUED IN THE U.S.) SO NOW, NOT ONLY AM I DAMAGING THE NEW ENGINE WHEN DRIVEN, BUT ALSO THE OCCUPANT HEALTH BY EXPOSING THEM TO GASOLINE FUMES. THIS IS JUST WRONG ON A NEW VEHICLE AND NEEDS A PROACTIVE RECALL ASAP.
THERE IS UNBURNT FUEL IN THE CRANKCASE CAUSING SEVERE EXHAUST FUMES IN SIDE THE PASSENGERS COMPARTMENT. ANY LONG RIDE IN VEHICLE CAUSE PASSENGERS TO GET NAUSEOUS AND LIGHT HEADED.
I'M GETTING RANDOM FUEL/OIL SMELLS INTO THE CABIN. I ALSO NOTICED THE ENGINE OIL DIP STICK IS SHOWING OVERFILLED AND THE OIL SMELLS LIKE GAS.

FUEL IS SOMEHOW MIXING WITH MY VEHICLES OIL. THIS IS CAUSING A FUEL SMELL IN THE VEHICLE AND RESULTS IN OVER FULL DIPSTICK READINGS. A RECENT SOFTWARE UPDATE FROM A HONDA SERVICE DEPARTMENT ONLY MADE THE ISSUE WORSE. I CAN START WITH A FRESH OIL CHANGE TODAY AND TWO DAYS LATER MY OIL WILL BE A QUART OVER FULL AND WILL SMELL LIKE FUEL.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 HONDA CR-V. WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH AT NIGHT, THE INSTRUMENT PANEL LIGHTING FAILED TO ILLUMINATE INTERMITTENTLY. WHEN THE FAILURE OCCURRED, THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED FOR THE INSTRUMENT PANEL TO ILLUMINATE AGAIN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AUTOFAIR HONDA (200 KELLER ST, MANCHESTER, NH 03103, (603) 471-3990) AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE COULD NOT BE DIAGNOSED UNLESS THE FAILURE OCCURRED WHILE AT THE DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,000.
ENGINE OIL BECOMES OVERFILLED WITH GASOLINE. IT IS VISIBLE WHEN CHECKING THE OIL LEVEL ON THE DIP STICK. ALSO THE DIPSTICK SMELLS OF GASOLINE.
SMELL OF GAS EVERY TIME I ENTER THE VEHICLE AFTER A FEW HOURS GAP. ESPECIALLY OVERNIGHT.
ENGINE (SPECIFICALLY COOLANT USED FOR HEATING THE WINDSHIELD DEFROSTING AIR) DOES NOT HEAT UP ENOUGH IN COLD WEATHER FOR WINDSHIELD DEFROSTERS TO WORK PROPERLY UNTIL CAR HAS BEEN AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS FOR SEVERAL MILES. WHEN DRIVEN LESS THAN 40MPH IN WEATHER BELOW 32F., ENGINE TEMPERATURE REMAINS COLD, THEREFORE PROVIDING TO HEAT FOR DEFROSTING WINDSHIELD. IT DOES NOT HELP TO LET VEHICLE "WARM UP" PRIOR TO DRIVING BECAUSE WHEN IDLING THE ENGINE NEVER GETS WARM (TEMPERATURE INDICATOR REMAINS ON COLDEST INDICATED SETTING). THIS CREATES A SAFETY HAZARD BECAUSE WINDOWS ARE NOT CLEAR FOR DRIVING. THIS IS A CONSISTENT PROBLEM THAT OCCURS ANYTIME OUTSIDE TEMPERATURES ARE COLD. I LIVE IN A NORTHERN STATE WHERE TEMPERATURES REACH -30F, AND THE PROBLEM IS WORSE AS THE TEMPERATURES GET COLDER.
