The contact owns a 2018 Honda CR-V. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V858000 (Fuel System, Gasoline); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.
Fuel injections failed on 65,000 mile 2018 Honda CRV. They had been cleaned recently and followed all Honda recommended maintenance. This failure has been repeatedly reported as it's impact 2015-2018 Honda CRV owners. This should be covered and recalled.
The contact owns a 2018 Honda CR-V. The contact stated while driving 65 MPH, the vehicle stalled. The contact stated that the failure had occurred on several occasions. Several unknown warning lights were illuminated intermittently. The vehicle was not drivable and was towed to the residence. The contact allowed the vehicle to cool off and contacted a dealer to schedule an appointment. The contact was notified that the VIN was included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V858000 (Fuel System, Gasoline). The vehicle was driven to a dealer, but the vehicle was not diagnosed. The dealer informed the contact that the VIN was no longer included in the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the recall repair had already been performed. The failure mileage was 164,372.
Vehicle started to run erratically as I was merging onto highway and all the dashboard lights were illuminated. Vehicle would not accelerate past 25 mph. Pulled over and turned car off and back on. Was able to accelerate and go a few more miles before car decelerated from 65 to 25. Got off highway and drove vehicle back home. It did it one more time, while on a back road. Took it to mechanic and diagnosis was two failed fuel injectors. Vehicle is less than 6 years old and has 95,000 miles on it.
The contact owns a 2018 Honda CR-V. The contact stated while driving 40 MPH, the steering wheel was sticking. There were several unknown warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer where it was diagnosed that the power steering box and rack and pinion needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 114,000.
Electric parking brake failure rendered the car undrivable. The problem was addressed by dealer in 2/24 but returned in 8/24. The parking brake switch was replaced at that time but problem returned 3 weeks later. Error codes indicated left side parking brake deployed unexpectedly. Unable to release parking brakes. After replacement of parking brake switch all error messages disappeared and parking brakes worked properly. After 3 weeks parking brakes non functional and error massages indicated brakes and multiple systems not working. Due to repeated parking brake issues traded in car at a loss as reliable transportation was needed.
Issue: Car loses power while driving. Event: Started car, drove down a hill about 1.5 miles. Tried to accelerate, lost all power, CEL started blinking. Limped car to safe location but could not accelerate over 5 mph. Next start, all vehicle warning lights flashing on dashboard. Code reader threw a P0310, P0300 (engine misfire). Problem reproduced/confirmed by independent service center. Preliminary diagnostics (swapped ignition coils and spark plugs 1&2 to 3&4, reinspected, misfires still on 1&2) suggesting possible fuel injector faults. Recommended working with Honda directly for further diagnostics because fuel injectors are replaced as an assembly and often require programming by a dealer, also problem seems similar to recall issue. Concern: Vehicle has 42,000 miles; fuel injectors should not fail at this mileage. Received a Honda safety recall letter in February 2024 NHTSA Recall Number: 23V-858/Honda Campaign number KGC. Called Honda after unsafe driving event (loss of power while driving). Honda stated that the recall for my VIN was rescinded. However, the problem seems very likely related to this recall.
The contact owns a 2018 Honda CR-V. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V858000 (Fuel System, Gasoline); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The dealer was made aware of the issue and confirmed that parts were not yet available. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and confirmed that parts were not yet available. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.
The steering binds when turning the steering wheel in either direction, and requires a decent amount of force to come back to center. So, while driving through a winding road it binds and locks into a left or right gradual turn and has to be forced the opposite direction to stay on the road. There where/ are no MILs present. I contacted my local Honda dealership and was told that it was probably related to the steering rack. However, they did not have that part available and wouldn't have it in the near future.

The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V858000 (Fuel System, Gasoline); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted. The contact called another local dealer, Plaza Honda (2722 Nostrand Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11210), but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 25,000. Parts distribution disconnect.
While away from home on vacation, the car alarm randomly went off for several minutes. Upon returning the battery was dead and would not start. Over the next several days this happened multiple times with the battery dying, car not starting, and the dash would light up and doors would not lock or unlock properly. Replaced the battery and again the same issue with alarm going off in the middle of the night after battery drain. I saw on the forums that the BCM is a common issue with the Honda vehicles. the car recognizes that "the start switch has been pushed, when it has not." This poses a safety risk for the car and the individual. Remedy from the dealer is the body/keyless module replacement at nearly 800.00. This seems to be something that Honda is aware of, but has not yet addressed.

8/6/24 confirmed by Honda dealer, steering gearbox internal failure. Need to replace rack and pinion assembly. See attached.
My CRV started having steering issues suddenly and started requiring additional steering effort. It was almost like it was catching and you would have to force the steering wheel in the opposite direction to release the "catch". This only occurs at speeds greater than about 40 miles per hour. I took my CRV to a Honda dealership and they assessed the vehicle and stated it was the EPS Steering Assembly that needed to be replaced. They reported that certain models of Honda vehicles have been recalled due to this issue. Today, I received notification that my spouses 2024 Honda CRV is being recalled due to reports of the same issue. The part was $2542.91 and the labor/install will be $1080.40. The part was ordered August 15, 2024 but has not arrived yet. My question is why certain models/years are being recalled when this is a bigger issue. This is a huge SAFETY ISSUE with Honda and puts lives at risk.
I was traveling on a 4-lane highway over 60 mph when the AEB activated COMPLETELY when no obstruction was anywhere near my car. The weather was dry and sunny. The brakes were completely locked and fully engaged. Fortunately, I had enough momentum to drift onto the shoulder to avoid the traffic behind me. No one was hurt. No accident occurred. I called two separate Honda service departments. One had never heard of this; the other recommended having the system recalibrated. Both admitted that replication of the incident would be difficult or impossible. I have not taken by car for service. The only visual warning that I remember seeing was related to the Adaptive Cruise Control but there was NO visual brake warning. I am buying another car and it WILL NOT be a Honda. Get this car off the road! The AEB system is a flawed design. The radar device on the front bumper can easily be activated by a stone from the road or broken when bumped by another car in a parking lot. At a minimum Honda Service should be calibrating the system every time these cars are brought in. OR make the system OFF by default, not ON.
The contact owns a 2018 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, while attempting to start the vehicle, the vehicle failed to respond as intended. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or local dealer. The contact related the failure to the NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V858000 (Fuel System, Gasoline). The local dealer had not been contacted. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 160,000. The VIN was not available.
As soon as I turn the vehicle on, all the warning lights turn on. I cannot use any safety features of the vehicle as the lights remain on. It started a year ago however used to go away itself. But this time it is consistent for over 10 days and not going away
Multipurpose windshield camera failed which disable many of the driver assistance safety systems. Dashboard display showed constant multiple system failures that could not be turned off by driver. Replacing the multipurpose windshield camera and recalibrating the camera cleared all the system failures. Cost for repairs was $1,737 which seems extreme for a camera.
All warning lights in vehicle come on. Says car engine is hot but it is not. None of the power systems work. Nothing is wrong with the vehicle. Buying top tier gas fixes the problem.
The car would not turn off. It said that there was some sort of electronic key issue and after stopping the car and putting it in park the engine would not shut off. Hitting the stop button did nothing. With no option to basically render the car into a safe position I drove the car to the dealer. The dealer was surprised they looked at the car and basically diagnosed that the BCM had failed. It is surprising to me that the BCM and ignition control systems are designed to prevent turning off the engine in case of failure of one of the components. They charged me approximately $750 for replacing the BCM.

I was Driving down a small hill. The car alerted for a car near my vicinity. There was no car in front or adjacent to mine. However, the car suddenly came to a complete stop, without me engaging the brakes. It almost resulted in a serious collision with the car behind me.

I have received a recall on my car last year, and I called multiple dealership to see if they have any parts available, then said they don’t have any parts. So I have to wait for the Honda letter to be notified that if the parts are available. But now I am experiencing engine hesitation recently and i am very worried about it becomes a safety issue, so I called Honda of Seattle and Lynwood Honda again and told them this problem, but they still keep saying that they don’t have the parts and they can’t do anything for me.
Steering wheel sticks while driving and will jut over when doing minor driving adjustments. Took car to Honda of Columbia dealership in Lexington, SC. Told me Rack and Pinion needed to be replaced and they have had multiple issues with them needing to be replaced. part # 53620-TLB-A23

While driving on highway , I attempted to accelerate to pass , as I did all warning lights came on and I lost ability to accelerate. The car went into “limp mode “ . Took it to local mechanic, the to Honda dealer . I was told I need a new engine , at a cost of over $16k .
While driving on a public roadway at about 20 mph I approached a large steel plate covering a trench, the brakes applied with maximum force and the dashboard BRAKE light came on. Luckily there were no vehicles close behind us. We could easily been hit from behind because of the severity of the stop. We had a similar incident on 05/042021 that we filed a complaint with the NHTSA #11416110. I spoke with Matt (service Rep) from Honda City and was told it was not covered by the warranty.

I was traveling along a four lane, about 45 MPH and the collision braking system engaged for no reason. There was no car or obstacle in front of me, and thankfully, no vehicles following closely behind me. The system disengaged within a few seconds and then I was able to accelerate forward. This has happened twice. It is frightening to think may have occurred if there were cars ahead or behind me. The first time it happened when the car had about 15,000 on it. The second time was this summer, and the car had about 52,000. I am very concerned about this issue, and I am very worried that the braking will engage and there will be a resulting accident.
The car aggressively braked without warning. The braking sensor activated even though there was no vehicle in front of me.
The contact owns a 2018 Honda CR-V. The contact stated while driving 55 MPH, the steering wheel failed to respond as needed. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact and her husband diagnosed the vehicle with sticky steering. The local dealer was contacted; however, the vehicle was not repaired because it was not under recall. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 97,000.
I was driving when I came upon a couple of metal plates on the road. I slowed a bit to go slower across them when my car slammed on the brakes, the brake orange light came on and beeped on the dash. There was a truck behind me that was luckily leaving enough space. I was jolted and everything fell off my passenger seat due to the aggressive sudden braking. If it had happened on a highway or the truck had been closer it would've been horrible.
Left parking lot and started driving down the street. The "Brake" light flashed and peep sounded and the car stopped abruptly--a complete stop. There was no one in front of me; there was no reason for the "Brake" light to come on. Thank God no one was behind me as I would have been rear-ended. The car stopped so abruptly that no one would have been able to stop. After I calmed down, I was able to continue on with no further issues. Contacted the dealer Service Department immediately and was told no recall and that the radar had just picked up on something. This made no sense as I was the only one on the street at the time--no one coming toward me and no one behind me. Over the years of owning the car, there have been incidents where the "Brake" light flashed for no obvious reason. However, the car never stopped. I feel fortunate because this could have caused a serious accident. I am very concerned to be behind the wheel of such a vehicle. A recall is definitely warranted and SOON!
The driver side sun visor became very difficult to operate and when trying to place in back in the stored / upright position it will not go into place and hangs down 2-4" that can cause visibility problems especially for taller drivers. This is a very common defect on several Honda vehicles as seen on Honda Forums or a Google search of Honda Sunvisor problem.
The contact owns a 2018 Honda CR-V. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, DTC: P0172 and P0300 were displayed on the instrument panel. The contact stated that while the codes were illuminated, the ADAS system became inoperable. The contact stated that the Lane Keep Assist, Forward Collision Avoidance, and other systems that were inoperable. The contact stated that the vehicle recently was repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V858000 (Fuel System, Gasoline); however, the error codes illuminated. The contact had taken the vehicle back to the dealer where the recall repair was performed, and a diagnostic test was performed. However, the failure was not duplicated. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was then taken to an independent mechanic and the ignition coils, 12-Volt battery, and the sparks plugs were replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure reoccurred. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 63,500.

The component that seems to be failing is the fuel pump impeller per recall notice symptoms description. Our vehicle is demonstrating the following symptoms: 1. loss of drive power (when going down hill), 2. Engine hesitation while driving, 3. Illuminated check engine light (all warning lights go on and cycle through). We had the vehicle to the dealership. Even before inspection we were told that these symptoms were NOT related to the recall notice and were told we would have to pay a diagnostic fee of $189 As per above, the check engine light does go on but so do all the other warning lights (?!). According to our invoice we paid $189.00 to have the warning lights fixed (but 5 days later they were all on once again).
The contact owns a 2018 Honda CR-V. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V858000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE); however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The local dealer was contacted, and it was confirmed that the part was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact stated that the vehicle was occasionally difficult to start. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000. Parts distribution disconnect.
Will driving at high speeds turning slightly to the left results in the steering wheel feeling sticky. In fact I can take my hands off the wheel and the wheel will remain stuck in the left of center position. When I put my hands back on the wheel, It takes a bit of force to recenter the wheel. When my car is warm, turning at low speeds results in a creeking/grinding noise. The noise is very pronounced when I turn to the left and slight when I turn to the right. The sharper the turn the worse the noise is. During parking, the noice is very pronounced. I took it to a trusted mechanic and was told that the rack and pinion needs to be replaced. The estimate was $3000. I have 66000 miles on the vehicle.

The problem doesn't seem to appear until after I've been driving on the highway for an hour or so. When it does appear it manifests itself as a bind in the steering. For example, if I want to make a small adjustment - say to recenter the vehicle in the lane - the normal amount of pressure on the steering wheel does nothing. The wheel won't turn. If I apply more pressure then suddenly the steering wheel breaks free and turns a little more than I had intended. It sounds very similar, if not the same, as NHTSA Investigation: EA23003, but that one is for newer vehicles than mine.
The contact owns a 2018 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that on several occasions while driving at various speeds, the steering wheel pulled to the right. Additionally, the contact stated that there was a clinking sound coming from the front of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to a tire shop where all four tires were replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000.
The car developed "sticky steering". In a curve the steering would stick and then give way suddenly to continue the turn. The dealer said the electronic power steering rack was binding and it needed to be replaced. The safety issue was the sudden give to the steering which led to some overcorrection. When this problem was first identified in 2018 Honda recalled 54 cars which they said had a faulty part. Now they refuse to recall or pay for the power steering rack even though the problem is identical to the cars they recalled. The dealer's chief mechanic checked out my complaint in the parking lot, said he didn't need to drive it, he knew exactly what the problem was and had seen it in several other cars. There were no warning lamps or messages ever seen with this issue.
When driving the steering is sticky, making steering corrections constantly. Happens at all speeds, but very noticeable and dangerous at highway speeds. This has been occurring for quite some time and I thought there would be a recall. This is a known issue for Honda but goes unaddressed. Dealer says the EPS needs to be replaced to the tune of about $3000, not the solution I wanted. By reading the complaints from other Honda owners this issue is on many model years. My vehicle has only 61,000 miles and this should not happen to this many model years. This puts my family and others at risk. There were no warning lamps or messages regarding this issue. Please review and take some action to help resolve this situation
On [XXX], I parked on a slight incline at an open market. There was nothing wrong with the steering when I parked the car. It was dry and sunny. When I returned to the car an hour later, the power steering was out and all sensor lights were flashing: Hill Assist, lane assist, cruise control, brakes, tire pressure, emergency brake, and others I can't recall at this point. Someone was getting into their car next to mine and helped maneuver the car out of the spot so it could be towed. I am told by the dealer, the power steering rack needs to be replaced -- $4000. My car has 56K miles on it, has never been in an accident and has always and only been serviced by AutoNation Honda in Clearwater. There appears to be a recall on this part but when I enter my VIN, it indicates the recall doesn't apply to my car even though it's a recall on 2018 CRVs. The dealer indicates the part is backordered indefinitely and cannot provide timeline. I am waiting for Honda Good Will program to evaluate whether they will help with rental car and expense of repair. Meantime, I have no car and cannot conduct business or even evacuate if a hurricane comes through. It's been 2 weeks now with no help from the dealer. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
After the vehicle has reached operating temperature The steering feels like it sticks at center at highway speeds. So if I try to correct the steering a minor amount I have to apply extra force to get the wheel to move and I end up over correcting causing me to do this action over and over again. I've also observed that on long turns the steering wheel sticks and also makes clicking noises at times. No wanring lights or indicators turned on when having these issues.
